#FASHIONFILES: Dior Fall 2024 Campaign Channels Miss Dior's Second Wave Women's Rights Spirit
Dior’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri was recently called the most modern couturier working today by Vogue’s Nicole Phelps.

In trying to explain her ‘design ethos’, while unintentionally drawing a line in the sand between herself and Christian Dior, Chiuri explained further. “Couture has historically been about ‘building the body’ with its corset foundations and highly-structured silhouettes. But I don’t want to build the body, I want to release it.”

For her Fall 2024 collection, Chiuri turned to the Miss Dior boutique, opened in 1967 to showcase a separate ready-to-wear collection during the tenure of Marc Bohan.

The designer explained: “I think he was really visionary for the time because the couture house was in difficulty. They had this relationship only with these couture clients—and women were changing. Not all the couture-house creative directors were so visionary to understand the new era, and new women.”

#RHOA: NeNe Leakes Shares Surprising Update on Boyfriend Nyonisela Sioh—and if She Wants to Get Married Again
Real Housewives alum NeNe Leakes revealed why she and boyfriend Nyonisela Sioh "have some work to do" before a possible engagement.
"We're okay," the Outrageous Love With NeNe Leakes host exclusively told E! News of her relationship. "Could always be better. He keeps checking a few of my boxes, but we have some work to do."

Plus, The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum isn't rushing into anything permanent after her husband of over two decades, Gregg Leakes, passed away from cancer in 2021.
"Things have definitely changed since I met Gregg 25 years ago," NeNe admitted. "Now, dating out here, I feel like the pool of men are not that great and it's just hard to find someone that is emotionally available. I always say you want someone to come into your life that helps to elevate you or teach you something or just make you great."

After dating Nyonisela on and off for the last two years, getting engaged to the menswear designer hasn’t even crossed the reality star’s mind.
"I don't have to have marriage because I've had it before," NeNe explained, "but I certainly would like a really good, healthy relationship that has a lot of love and respect."

But that doesn't mean the 56-year-old wouldn't say "I do" again.
"I hope I get married again," NeNe added. "I'm just saying I don't have to. If I met a guy and he said I don't want to get married, that is not a big deal to me. I understand life partners and that's fine too."

As for what the reality star considers most important when it comes to maintaining long-lasting marriage?
"I believe in order to have a successful relationship, one, you have to have communication," she told E!, "and, two, I believe you guys have to respect one another."

In fact, NeNe is putting her relationship expertise to good use on her new Lifetime series Outrageous Love, where she weighs in on the trials, triumphs and tribulations of real-life couples.
"I'm a hopeless romantic and I was married for almost 25 years, so I feel like I have a really good idea about what relationships are and how they work," she explained. "It's a great show, it's super funny. I love watching the clips of couples and we get a lot of crazy couples out here. Outrageous Love is super fun."

Outrageous Love With NeNe Leakes airs Mondays at 10 p.m. on Lifetime. And keep reading for E!'s definitive ranking of every Real Housewife ever.

#MusicNews: Céline Dion Teaming Up with Lady Gaga for Olympics Duet: Reports

France’s acting sports minister Amélie Oudéa-Castéra has set the Olympic rumor mill alight after he cryptically hinted that Céline Dion and Lady Gaga will perform a duet at the Paris 2024 Olympic opening ceremony.
According to French journalist Thierry Moreau, who posted to X (formerly Twitter), the duo will sing the Édith Piaf classic “La Vie en Rose.” TMZ is also reporting that Dion and Gaga will perform the track.

It would mark Dion’s first performance since she cancelled the dates on her North American Courage world tour before revealing she is fighting Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder.
Dion herself added fuel to the fire that she’s set to participate in the event after posting to Instagram from Paris on July 24.

“Every time I return to Paris, I remember there’s so much beauty and joy still to experience in the world.  I love Paris, and I’m so happy to be back! Thank you to our wonderful friends at The Louvre!” she wrote in both English and French.
On Monday (July 22), pop star was photographed waving and blowing kisses to fans as she stood next to her car. A fan video captures Gaga greeting admirers while peeking out of the vehicle’s sunroof, holding up a hand heart.

The sighting came a few days after the Olympics appeared to tease a special guest at the 2024 Opening Ceremony, by posting a video featuring a person in disguise that many thought to be the 13-time Grammy winner.
In the clip, a hooded figure tightens their metallic belt and wraps a large flag with the ancient sporting event’s logo on it around their shoulders as a cape.
“You haven’t seen anything yet,” the video teased. “See you on 26 July.”

The highly anticipated four-hour spectacle is set to unfold on July 26 along the River Seine and at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.

#HipHopNews:Tory Lanez Announces He’ll Be Dropping New Songs Weekly From Prison
Tory Lanez is gearing up to drop new music from behind bars as he continues his sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion.
Throughout the month of July, Lanez has been dropping a few songs a week that he’s had in the stash. But in a new update, he revealed that he’s figured out how to record in high fidelity from prison, and he says he’s ready to release with a vengeance.

“After about 20-something to 30-something fuck-ups and mistakes, me and my engineer have finally figure out how to record music over the jail phone and still keep the quality as professional as I had it on the street,” he said in a recorded call posted to his Instagram on Wednesday (July 24). “It’s over. I done cracked the fucking code, man. This means that not even these prison walls can stop me from dropping new music. It’s crazy!

“That being said, I’m about to start dropping hot heaps of coal on y’all head top. I’m dropping the all new ‘Free Tory’ playlist – it’s gon’ be updated every week with new music that I’m recording from prison in real time. This is the first of its kind and although God has already shown me that this moment is only temporary , it speaks testimony to the fact that no matter where they put me they can’t lock down my spirit, my ambition, my soul my passion nor my destiny!”

Tory Lanez is currently serving a 10-year sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion, though he has an ongoing appeal against his conviction.
The incident happened after the two rappers got into a drunken dispute following a party hosted by Kylie Jenner in July 2020. Tory has long maintained his innocence but did not testify at the trial.

Lanez’s appeal is based on “Erroneous Admission of Evidence” and “Prosecutorial Misconduct,” but his motion has been delayed to allow the prosecution to examine it.
After he was found guilty, a written statement from Megan was read in court by Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta.
In it, the Houston native blasted Tory for spinning false narratives about the shooting and making light of her “trauma” in subsequent music releases. As a result, she said she had “not experienced a single day of peace” since the shooting.

“He not only shot me, he made a mockery of my trauma,” Megan wrote. “He tried to position himself as a victim and set out to destroy my character and my soul.
“He lied to anyone that would listen and paid bloggers to disseminate false information about the case on social media. He released music videos and songs to damage my character and continue his crusade.”

Janet Jackson keeps brother Michael Jackson's memory alive with 'Scream' duet

Janet Jackson says she still gets emotional while performing “Scream”, the song she released with her late brother Michael Jackson in 1995.
The single from Michael’s ninth album, HIStory: PAst, Present and Future, Book I, was written as a retaliation against the media’s coverage of the child sexual abuse allegations made against him in 1993. He was not convicted and settled the case out of court.

Lyrics include the lines: “I'm tired of injustice, I'm tired of the schemes/ Your lies are disgusting/ So, what does it mean, damn it?/ Kickin' me down, I got to get up/ As jacked as it sounds/ The whole system sucks, damn it.”
Janet Jackson has been performing the song as part of her setlist for her Together Again world tour, which reaches the UK in September this year. On stage, she duets with footage of her late brother.

Speaking to the BBC, the US star admitted it was still emotional “listening to [Michael] every night, seeing him, remembering us”.
“Mike and I wrote that song in New York, in his apartment,” she recalled. “So [I relive] that whole journey, listening to him sing it [and remembering] what he was going through at that time.

“And just me being his little sister, always by his side, and being that support system. That's always been my role.”

The European leg of Janet’s tour will kick off in Paris on 25 September, before moving to Birmingham, London, and Glasgow. It concludes in the embattled Co-op Live arena in Manchester on 1 October.
“I cannot wait to see you guys, I miss you so much. We’ve had so much fun with this show, so can’t wait to come and have some of that fun with you guys,” she said in a video message announcing the tour earlier this year.

Tyler Perry Dismisses “Highbrow Negroes” Criticizing His Films: “Get Out Of Here With That Bullsh*t”
"Who are you to be able to say which Black story is important, or should be told?"
Tyler Perry is unbothered by what a “highbrow negro” thinks of his films, he revealed during a recent sit-down with Keke Palmer.
As a guest on her Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast, the Divorce In The Black director addressed his ability to stay true to his “authentic voice” while constantly being met with criticism over his chosen methods of storytelling.

“No, no, no, no, no, you gotta drown all of that out, because if you let somebody talk you out of a place that God has put you in, you are going to find yourself in hell,” he asserted. “I know for a fact that what I’m doing is exactly what I’m supposed to be doing, because for everyone who is a critic, I have thousands of — what used to be — emails from people saying, ‘This changed my life. Oh my God, you know me. Oh my God, you saw me. How did you know this about my life and my family?’ That is what is important to me.”

He continued, “A large portion of my fans are disenfranchised, who cannot get in the Volvo and go to therapy on the weekend. So, you’ve got this highbrow negro who is all up in the air with his nose up looking at everything, then you got people like where I come from, and me, who are grinders, who really know what it’s like. Whose mothers were caregivers for white kids, and were maids, housekeepers…beauticians. Don’t discount these people and say their stories don’t matter. Who are you to be able to say which Black story is important, or should be told? Get out of here with that bullsh*t.”

Perry most recently faced jeers for the aforementioned Divorce In The Black, which received a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Leading man Cory Hardrict has since brushed off the critical reviews while praising Perry for the work he does with Black actors.
“I don’t know nothing about it. I didn’t see that,” he said of the low score. “I mean, the people love the movie and we do it for the people–that’s who I do it for. If the culture’s rocking with it, it’s all love. So it’s fine. But as long as the people see it, my neighborhood see it, South Side, Chicago, L.A. see it, everybody see it, then I’m happy, it’s all love.”

“Shoutout Mr. Perry, I love Mr. Perry, though. That’s my guy. He takes care of his actors, it’s a loving set and we’re gonna do it again,” he added.

Cardi B Defends Kamala Harris Amid Sexist Attacks Over Her Past Relationships

As someone who’s dealt with her own series of misogyny, Cardi B is defending Vice President Kamala Harris following some sexist backlash stemming from her past relationships.
“What does Kamala Harris husband or relationships have to do wit her credentials?” tweeted the Invasion Of Privacy rapper. “Do y’all hire people based on who they f**king??”

The fiery response comes after Harris’ past romances came into question including her prior relationship with retired talk show host Montel Williams from 2001.
Despite criticism and former proximity to Harris, Williams has remained a good sport amid the controversy. “I’d like to welcome my new followers and thank those of you who have stood by me all these years. I appreciate you,” he tweeted.

One even called him “the winner of yesterday’s news cycle” and while he noted that it was a “strange day,” he was gracious.
Harris was also accused of cheating on her current husband of 10 years, Doug Emhoff, for professional gain. Some have also attacked their interracial relationship and Emhoff’s Jewish descent.

Emhoff himself has come forward to defend his wife as well since she launched her presidential campaign.

Trump dubbed Harris “Laughin’ Kamala” and “Lyin’ Kamala” on social media and when asked about the monikers, Emhoff told reporters, “That’s all he’s got?”

Per Fox News, he continued, “You heard the Vice President yesterday making the case against Donald Trump. Very clearly laid out the case, directly and in a compelling fashion. But she also laid out a vision for the future. A vision where there’s freedom. Where we’re not having to talk about these issues of today in this post Dobbs Hellscape that Donald Trump created. We’re gonna prosecute the case against Donald Trump and his lies, his gaslighting, during COVID, the dereliction of duty, inciting an insurrection and all those other things. We’re gonna make that very clear.”

Wayne Brady Opens Up About Coming Out As Pansexual
Wayne Brady, the beloved comedian and TV personality, has been candid about his sexuality in recent interviews. Years ago, he publicly came out as pansexual, a term used to describe those who are attracted to people regardless of gender or sexual orientation.
Initially, Brady struggled to define his sexuality, as the language surrounding gender and sexual identity had evolved since his youth. Through therapy and self-discovery, he gradually came to terms with his attraction to both men and women.

Brady shared that his family's understanding surpassed that of internet trolls. His mother,Valerie Petersen, accepted him despite her established beliefs. However, he faced more criticism from those entrenched in their belief systems online.
Brady emphasized the importance of representation in media, stating that it allows individuals to feel seen and accepted for who they are. He also credits his loved ones, particularly his ex-wife Mandie Taketa, for providing him with the safety and support he needed to come out.

According to Brady, therapy and honest conversations played significant roles in his journey to embrace his sexuality. Despite coming out, he acknowledges that his life has not changed drastically; the most profound transformation has occurred within himself.

Taketa, a star on the reality show "Wayne Brady: The Family Remix", supports Brady's decision and would even throw him a parade if he desired one. The show follows their unique family dynamic as they navigate life's challenges.

Brady's openness has not only empowered himself but has also inspired others within the LGBTQ+ community. By sharing his story, he challenges negative perceptions and promotes acceptance and understanding.

Blair Underwood Explains Why He Initially Declined 'Sex And The City' Role

Blair Underwood recently delved into his career journey, recalling his initial refusal to guest star on HBO's "Sex and the City" due to concerns over a stereotypical role. During an interview with AV Club, Underwood revealed that the original offer centered around Samantha's fascination with dating a Black man and her desire to explore racial stereotypes.
Undeterred, Underwood asserted, "I just don't want to play a character based on race, on curiosity about a Black man." The "Sex and the City" team respected his decision and returned a year later with a revised offer. When questioned if race would play a role, Underwood was assured, "No, no, no, we're not even gonna mention race!"

In the end, race was only mentioned once in Underwood's five-episode stint as Dr. Robert Leeds, a romantic love interest for Miranda Hobbes. Underwood admitted, "That's really been a consistent thing in my career: not wanting to be boxed as 'the black guy.' "
Underwood was also effusive in his praise for Cynthia Nixon, who played Miranda. He recalled, "She and all the other girls were doing a scene on the set, and she called me. I'd never met her - I never knew any of them - but she said, 'We just wanted to call you and tell you that we heard you got cast, we're all so excited you're joining the show, and we just wanted to say welcome to the show when you get here.' "

Underwood's journey on "Sex and the City" highlights his commitment to breaking racial barriers and embracing more inclusive roles, emphasizing the importance of diversity and representation in entertainment.

DOJ Investigates Fatal Shooting Of Sonya Massey & Former Deputy Sean Grayson’s Troubling History
The U.S. Department of Justice announced on Tuesday that it is “assessing the circumstances” surrounding the tragic fatal shooting of Sonya Massey, an unarmed Black woman, by a Sangamon County Sheriff’s deputy.
This announcement follows a wave of public outcry and a call for justice led by renowned civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump, who represents Massey’s family.

The Incident
On the early morning of July 6, Sonya Massey, 36, made a 911 call reporting a prowler outside her home.
Approximately 30 minutes later, deputies arrived on the scene, leading to a series of events that ended with Massey being fatally shot.
The body camera footage, released on Monday, reveals a deeply troubling sequence of actions by the deputies involved.

The Body Camera Footag
The video shows deputies checking Sonya’s house for intruders before entering.
Massey, dressed in her nightclothes, asked if she could remove a pot from the stove.
During this interaction, Sonya Massey uttered, “I rebuke you in the name of Jesus.”
Sean Grayson, the deputy involved, then threatened to shoot her in the face and drew his weapon.

Despite Sonya’s attempts to comply, including dropping below the kitchen counter with her hands raised and apologizing, Grayson fired three shots, including a fatal one to her head.
Sean Grayson’s Troubling Record
Sean Grayson, 30, was indicted for first-degree murder last week and has since been detained and fired from the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office.

However, Grayson’s troubling history extends far beyond this recent incident.
Grayson first became a police officer in 2020, shortly after his driver’s license was reinstated following a suspension for driving under the influence.
His initial employment in law enforcement was with the Pawnee Police Department, despite his military discharge in 2016 and a checkered job history, including roles as a gym worker, landscaper, and security guard.

A Pattern of Misconduct
Grayson’s criminal record is extensive.
In 2015, he was arrested for DUI, during which he was found with a firearm and marijuana.
He pleaded guilty and was fined and placed on court supervision.
In 2016, Grayson faced another DUI charge, refusing a breathalyzer and exhibiting disrespectful behavior towards the arresting officer.
Despite these incidents, Grayson managed to secure various part-time law enforcement positions, including with the Virden, Kincaid, and Auburn Police Departments.

Public and Official Reactions
The shooting has garnered national attention, with comments from President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and Lt. Governor Juliana Stratton have also met with Massey’s family.
At a news conference on Tuesday, Crump and Sonya Massey’s family members expressed their grief and frustration, highlighting discrepancies in the information they received about Massey’s death.

Benjamin Crump’s Statement
Benjamin Crump emphasized the broader implications of this tragedy, stating, “It is trying to put yourself in their shoes and their neighbors’ shoes. I know it’s hard for some people to even fathom it, but it’s a reality for most people of color, especially black people in America. We think about this every day that but by the grace of God, it could be your mama next or your daughter or your son.”

As the DOJ continues its investigation, the case of Sonya Massey underscores the urgent need for police reform and accountability.
Sean Grayson’s history of misconduct and the circumstances surrounding Massey’s death highlight systemic issues that demand comprehensive solutions to prevent future tragedies.

My sincerest condolences and continued prayers for the Massey family as we fight for the justice Sonya deserves.

Beyoncé Fans Slam Rock Musician for Calling the Singer ‘Overrated’ In Rant Praising Taylor Swift
Exodus guitarist Gary Holt is not a Beyoncé fan. And as it pertains to his list of remarkably talented artists, the “Godfather of trash metal” will gladly exclude the singer in favor of Taylor Swift.
The rock star did just that when he ripped the “Renaissance” superstar and shaded her 12-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, during his appearance on the “Scandalous Podcast.” A clip of him raving about Swift on the July 16 episode has recently begun to circulate online.

While speaking with host Ashley Steinmetz, Holt admitted to being a big fan of Madonna and Katy Perry’s early pop work, saying, “‘Teenage Dream,’ what a great record. She literally tied Michael Jackson for most No. 1 songs,” of the latter’s wor
He continues to say, “My hero’s Prince, you know the greatest artist there ever was. They’ll never be another one like him.”

Exodus guitarist Gary Holt faces backlash for saying Beyoncé is an overrated artist compared to Taylor Swift. (Photos: @beyonce/Instagram, @garyholt_official/Instagram, @taylorswift/Instagram)

But his take on today’s music somewhat derails when Steinmetz, who is outspoken about not understanding the Swifty craze, asks if Holt could help with the problem. He responds, “I love Taylor Swift. Why all the hate? She’s an extraordinary hard worker. She’s super f—king nice to everybody and people hate her. She’s just the biggest pop star on the earth and more power to her. I like them songs. I love pop.”

The rocker’s praise for the country-pop crossover star included lauding her for penning her songs with minimal additional writers. Holt quips, “Taylor writes everything. And so, I give her credit. She’s a songwriter. And some of these other people, they require massive teams.” However, his comments quickly become divisive when he uses her songwriting ability to seemingly discredit Beyoncé’s fandom.

“Beyoncé will put out a song, and there’s 30 f—king people on it. How can 30 people write a song all gathered together? It’s like, you’re not a songwriter, Beyoncé,” he says.

When the “Break My Soul” icon released her “Rennaisance” album last year, she received flak from those who took issue with 24 people being credited on the track “Alien Superstar.”
Her go-to producer, The-Dream, hit back at critics like legendary songwriter Diane Warren, noting that Beyoncé credited writers from the songs she sampled for her own record too. It is unclear if Holt is aware of that part of the discussion.

Still, his issues with the Recording Academy’s most awarded artist exist and even include those who have received accolades by being in her orbit. “I mean, her daughter got a songwriting credit and a Grammy because she probably threw some f—king kindergarten rhyme on one line and ‘Yup, give her a Grammy,” Holt continued, further venting his grievances.

The singer’s daughter won the coveted gramaphone trophy when “Brown Skin Girl” won Best Music Video at the Grammys in 2021. He added, “She [Blue Ivy] now has one seventh the Grammys Prince, the greatest artist that ever was or ever will be, ever got,” as he distinguished Swift from the class of artists who enlist “a factory of songwriting.”

His unanticipated rant concluded once he shared, “I got no hate for Taylor. She’s a good person — not that I know her. … I think Beyoncé’s the most overrated talent on earth. I think she’s marginally talented.”
In the comments of the YouTube video, a viewer wrote, “Where did all this animosity towards beyonce coming from?” Another viewer said, “People have been spewing hate for Beyoncé for years. From she’s talentless and overrated to she doesn’t write her own songs, it’s ridiculous.”

On Twitter, a fan came to the songstress’s defense when they wrote, “When someone has to drag someone else down to compliment another, it says way more about them than anyone else.” Another defensive BeyHive member said that the criticism was “mighty white of him.”

The two massive pop stars’ fan bases are regulars at warring against each other, but Beyoncé and Swift have both been publicly supportive of each other’s endeavors.

Chad Dillon, Co-Owner Of Lil Baby’s Seafood Restaurant, Shot And Killed In Atlanta Shooting

Chad Dillon, a business partner of rapper Lil Baby, has passed away at 33 after being shot and killed in Atlanta.
News of Dillon’s death was confirmed by his attorney, Malcolm Conner, via Atlanta News First on Wednesday (July 24), reportedly one day after the restauranteur was pronounced dead on Tuesday (July 23).

Dillion, who was planning on opening a Jamaican restuarant in the city’s Old Fourth Wood neighborhood, was driving in a vehicle around the area at the time of the fatal incident and was struck multiple times.
No motive for the shooting has been established and no suspects have been named at this time.

In 2023, Dillon and Lil Baby opened The Seafood Menu Restaurant and Takeout in the southwest section of Atlanta, a venture that was celebrated with a massive grand opening and a testament to Dillion’s accomplishments as an entrepreneur.
The hitmaker has since acknowledged Dillon’s passing on social media, posting a photo of the two on his Instagram story with the caption “Damn big buddy get ya rest,” along with a dove emoji.

Prior to partnering with Lil Baby, Dillon opened the wildly successful restaurant The Boiler Seafood Atlanta, which is said to have sold upwards of 180K pounds of seafood, grossing more than $8 million in sales. In 2022, Dillion spoke on his approach to merging passion and profit with TravelNoire.

“I am a thinker and innovator, so even without a culinary background, I enjoy finding voids in the business market and creating solutions; creating restaurant concepts from ideation to execution, coming up with new menu items, and creating amazing customer experiences,” Dillon told the outlet at the time. “I’m also very hands-on,” he added.

We send our condolences to Chad Dillion’s family and friends.

GLAAD Responds To Kim Burrell’s Apology To LGBTQ+ Community
GLAAD has responded to Kim Burrell‘s apology directed toward the LGBTQ+ community. In a statement released on Wednesday (July 24), the non-profit advocacy organization explained the on-stage moment as “the first step toward full accountability.”

“Black LGBTQ people who remain in traditional faith communities are very familiar with the anti-LGBTQ rhetoric Burrell and others have espoused throughout her career. We are well-versed in the “lingo and jargon” of Black church culture and a gospel music industry that benefits from our gifts but demands us to be silent about our truth, which is in alignment with the presence of God in our lives,” elaborated GLAAD Director of Local News: US South Darian Aaron.

“From the pulpit to the pews—Black LGBTQ people are integral to the Black church and gospel music experience. Burrell’s speech is evidence of a tipping point where Burrell, the Black church, and the gospel music industry can recognize and accept us all as people of faith and as worthy of Black liberation as anyone else. The gospel industry and all who produce, enjoy, and celebrate it must see Burrell’s first step as an opportunity to embrace inclusion over exclusion to benefit all in the community who demand safety, justice, and freedom.”

The apology from Burrell came as she accepted the Aretha Franklin Icon Award at the 2024 Stellar Awards last weekend. According to the GLAAD website, before the ceremony, the organization and Houston-based LGBTQ, HIV, and faith leaders addressed Burrell’s record with her, her team, and Don Jackson, CEO of the Stellar Awards.

This conversation is described as intended to urge public recognition of the harms, and action for next steps to be a bridge-builder instead of an agent of division contributing to the further marginalization of Black LGBTQ people.

Per GLAAD, the singer was criticized in 2017 for preaching that people who “play with” homosexual sin would “die from it.” The fallout from the controversial moment included a scheduled appearance on the Ellen Show being canceled as well as Burrell’s radio program.

“Being different comes with controversy, and fortunately, it comes with community. I’d just like to leave you with these thoughts— I have, over the course of time and with much soul-searching, come to fully understand the reach and impact of my voice beyond Gospel music. There is such a care to take when you realize you’re not just preaching to the choir anymore,” admits the 51-year-old.
“You know, we have a church lingo. We have a church jargon that everybody doesn’t get. And sometimes you have to say it for the people in the back. And for that, I want to apologize to the LGBTQ community. Let’s give them a great big round of applause. We want them to have strength and to sincerely know that we must all do the work to embrace all of what God’s people—and show forth his love to everyone.”

The NBA Announces Their Lucrative Media Deal with Disney, Amazon, and NBC
The NBA made a difficult decision yesterday, announcing that they will be moving forward with the original 11-year, $76 billion TV rights deal including NBC, Disney, and Amazon Prime, leaving Warner Brothers Discovery on the outside looking in.
Inevitably, this means next season will be the last season of NBA on TNT. The highly syndicated, entertaining NBA pre-and post-game shows have been on television for over 35 years.
NBA fans were devastated by the news; however, this outcome seemed inevitable.

When WBD responded within their five-day window, it was reported that the match was a puncher’s chance. It seems as if it didn’t connect. Commissioner Adam Silver explained why partnering with an online streaming service like Amazon was essential as the NBA grows globally.

“The digital opportunities with Amazon align perfectly with the Global interest in the NBA,” Silver said in a statement. “And Prime Video’s massive subscriber base will dramatically expand our ability to reach our fans in new innovative ways.”
WBD believes that the NBA misinterpreted their matched offer, and they believe that the NBA made a mistake in a statement.
“We have matched the Amazon offer, as we have a contractual right to do,” WBD said in a statement.
“In doing so, they are rejecting the many fans who continue to show their unwavering support for our best-in-class coverage, delivered through the full combined reach of WBD’s video-first distribution platforms.”

The other day, the potential of Amazon’s customer base reaching 200 million viewers was mentioned, while WBD only draws 87 million on linear cable. It’s a business decision that had to be made that may affect the NBA’s culture. But those tears will dry up as they make nearly 7 billion dollars per season from broadcasting the sport.

It was reported that Amazon would try to go after the Inside The NBA cast and sign them to their network. Most don’t think That Ernie Johnson will leave WBD. However let’s see if there is a way they can persuade to keep Charles Barkley from retiring, anything is possible.

Southwest Airlines Announces New Assigned Seating Policy And Redeye Flight Options

Southwest Airlines has just announced a huge change to its seating policy.
On Thursday, the Dallas-based airline announced that its open seat policy will end and be replaced by premium seating and redeye flight options. Southwest says the changes are part of its ongoing “strategic transformation” to improve customer experience.

According to the airline, research showed that 80% of its current customers and 86% of potential customers prefer assigned seating instead of having the option to freely select a seat after boarding the plane. As a result, Southwest decided to add premium, extended legroom sections on their planes, with one-third of the seats offering this option.

“Moving to assigned seating and offering premium legroom options will be a transformational change that cuts across almost all aspects of the company,” President and CEO of Southwest, Bob Jordan, said. “Although our unique open seating model has been a part of Southwest Airlines since our inception, our thoughtful and extensive research makes it clear this is the right choice— at the right time—for our customers, our people, and our shareholders. We are excited to incorporate customer and employee feedback to design a unique experience that only Southwest can deliver.”

Additionally, Southwest will begin selling redeye tickets this week. The first overnight flight will land on Valentine’s Day 2025, connecting five initial nonstop markets: Las Vegas to Baltimore and Orlando, Los Angeles to Baltimore and Nashville, and Phoenix to Baltimore. Nonetheless, the airline mentioned plans to expand the redeye flights to other cities in the future.

Candace Owens Slams Biden’s Statement on Sonya Massey Shooting, Claims Incident Wasn’t Racially Motivated
*Candace Owens criticized President Joe Biden after he released a statement in response to the fatal shooting of Sonya Massey, a Black woman, by a white sheriff’s deputy in Springfield, Illinois.
The July 6 incident has reignited national debates about police use of force and racial disparities in law enforcement as the election approaches.

In the body camera footage released by the prosecutor’s office on Monday, former Sangamon County Sheriff’s Deputy Sean Grayson is seen threatening to shoot Massey, 36, over a dispute about moving a pot from the stove. Grayson then fires his gun three times at Massey after she briefly stands up. He has been charged with first-degree murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, and official misconduct. Grayson is currently held without bond in Sangamon County Jail.

He has pleaded not guilty and could face a prison sentence of 45 years to life if convicted.
According to Ownes, the incident was not racially motivated. She argues that unarmed white Americans are at a greater risk of being shot and killed than Black Americans.

Massey failed to provide first aid to Massey after she was shot and First Assistant State’s Attorney Mary Rodgers said he didn’t “show anything but callousness to a human life.”
Supporters of Grayson have pointed out that he uses a colostomy bag due to a Stage 3 colon cancer diagnosis in October 2023, suggesting that this condition may contribute to erratic behavior, including shooting an unarmed Black woman in her face.

“Police officers are human beings. There are mistakes that happen, and the idea that now you’re going to use this situation, and all the usual suspects are already involved, we know attorney Crump is already involved, to then try to make Black Americans believe that this happened simply because she was Black, is pointedly ridiculous,” said Owens in a recent episode of her popular podcast.

“So I am saying to Black Americans today, do not take this bait,” she added.
“Yes, what happened in this situation, I think he’s going to have a very hard time, this officer, saying that he absolutely felt so threatened by boiling water that the only solution was for him to mindfully say I’m going to shoot you in the face and that’s what he did. I think that’s going to be a very steep hill to climb. But the reaction from Black America can not be exactly what they want,” Owens added.

“There is a reason that whoever is in control of Joe Biden’s account tweeted about this. It’s because they think we’re stupid. They think we’re emotional,” she continued. “They think we always respond illogically and emotionally and it’s an easy way for them to shore up votes by saying, ‘Oh look, forget that we’ve destroyed everything around you and that we got you to burn down your neighborhoods in 2020, and then obviously stole a bunch of money because none of that money actually went to making your neighborhoods better and so now those communities are desolate, forget all of that because look, another video and this means racism is back and vote for us because we’re going to show you how emotional we are.’ That’s exactly what Joe Biden did,” Owens explained.

In a July 22 tweet, Biden said, “Sonya Massey, a beloved mother, friend, daughter, and young Black woman, should be alive today. Sonya’s death at the hands of a police officer reminds us that all too often Black Americans face fears for their safety in ways many of the rest of us do not.”

In a separate tweet, president added, “Sonya’s family deserves justice. I am heartbroken for her children and family as they face this unthinkable and senseless loss. Jill and I mourn with the rest of the country and our prayers are with Sonya’s family, loved ones, and community during this devastating time.”

In her commentary, Owens said, “The only reason, whoever is in control of his account is putting that out there is because too many Black Americans are turning toward Trump. They think too many Black Americans are catching on to the Democrat scam. She's an idiot!
