The RHOA cast member turned heads in this seriously sexy ensemble during a recent night out.
Marlo Hampton is turning up the heat this summer with a seriously sexy ensemble. The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member sizzled in a plunging black cutout dress during a recent night on the town, as captured in a new photo on Instagram.

On May 29, Marlo took to Instagram to show off her latest head-turning outfit. As showcased in the photo, the RHOA fashionista looked stunning in a long black one-sleeved dress with a thigh-high slit on one side. The flirty frock also featured a low-cut neckline and skin-baring cutouts along the waist and back.

Marlo paired the sultry dress with translucent stilettos and an edgy gold skull-shaped purse. She amped up the glamour with gold jewelry, including several dazzling rings and a gold watch stacked alongside gold bangles. To complete the look, she rocked a sideswept curly hairstyle and wore bronzy makeup to amp up her natural glow.

#HipHopNews: Lil Nas X Blasts Bet Awards Over Snub
The 2022 BET Awards nominations were announced today and Lil Nas X was nowhere to be found.

In a series of since-deleted tweets, the rapper called out the network for snubbing him once again despite the success of his debut album Montero, which spawned hit singles like “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” and “Industry Baby” with Jack Harlow.

“thank you bet awards. an outstanding zero nominations again,” he tweeted before adding, “black excellence!”

When someone questioned why he deserved to be nominated, Nas clapped back with receipts. “idk maybe 3 of the biggest songs of last year & a critically acclaimed album,” he said. “i feel like that should’ve helped me a bit.”

Another person claimed that he shouldn’t be eligible because he is a “pop artist,” to which he responded, “no offense but u are literally of caucasian persuasion and trying to school me on an award show i’ve watched my entire childhood + it’s not the hip hop awards + they have a pop category.”

According to Nas, the snub is not just about him. “doesn’t even have to be me nominated,” the openly gay rapper wrote on Wednesday, which also happens to be the first day of Pride Month. “i just feel like black gay ppl have to fight to be seen in this world and even when we make it to the top mfs try to pretend we are invisible.”

While he may not be attending the show, he joked that he will be “selling fish plates outside of the bet awards this year.”

This is the second consecutive year that Nas has been snubbed. He was nominated for Best New Artist in 2020 but lost.

Nas delivered one of the most-talked-about moments of last year’s BET Awards when he performed “Montero.” In 2019, he performed his record-breaking hit “Old Town Road” with Billy Ray Cyrus.

While Nas was shut out, his “Scoop” collaborator Doja Cat leads the 2022 BET Awards with six nominations, while Drake and Ari Lennox earned the second most nods with four each. Other multiple nominees include Future, Young Thug, Baby Keem, Silk Sonic, Kanye West, and more.

At least 4 people were killed in a Tulsa, Oklahoma, hospital campus shooting, police say
At least four people were killed Wednesday in a shooting on a hospital campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma, police said in a news conference Wednesday evening.

The gunman is also dead, police said. Authorities believe the shooter’s gunshot wound was self-inflicted, Tulsa Police Department Deputy Chief Eric Dalgleish said in the news conference.

Dispatchers received a call about an active shooter at the Natalie Medical Building, a physicians’ office building on the St. Francis Hospital campus, at roughly 4:52 p.m. local time, Dalgleish said.

Officers responded to the scene at roughly 4:56 p.m. and made contact with victims and the suspect roughly five minutes later, Dalgleish said. The officers who arrived could hear shots inside the building, which directed them to the second floor, according to the deputy chief.

“The scene is fairly limited to one section of that floor, on the second floor,” Dalgleish said. No officers were injured, he added.
Investigators are interviewing witnesses that were in the building, Dalgleish said.
Police said they are “getting close” to identifying the suspect, who Dalgleish said had one rifle and one handgun with him.

A ‘catastrophic’ scene
Earlier Wednesday, Richard Meulenberg, with police, said authorities were continuing to evacuate “multiple floors” of the building, which included “hundreds of rooms and hundreds of people.”

“We’re treating this as a catastrophic scene right now,” Meulenberg said.

There has been a reunification site set up for family members and friends at Memorial High School west of LaFortune Park, police added.
President Joe Biden has been briefed on the shooting, a White House official said. The White House is closely monitoring the situation and has reached out to state and local officials to offer support.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is also assisting on scene, the ATF Dallas Field Division said on Twitter.

‘I just knew that it was a shooting’
Debra Proctor was in another building on the hospital campus for a doctor’s appointment when she heard police sirens ringing out.

When she stepped outside, first responders were lined up everywhere, she told CNN. Proctor, who has been a registered nurse for more than four decades, said it was a “shocking” scene.
“Police were everywhere in the parking lot, up and down the surrounding blocks,” Proctor said. “They were still arriving when I was leaving.”

Kalen Davis, a lifelong Tulsa resident, was waiting in traffic around 5 p.m. local time when she saw multiple police cars responding to the scene.

In a video she shared with CNN, authorities can be seen running toward a building with their guns drawn. Two officers are seen taking long guns out of their trunks as more emergency vehicles race to the scene.
“I just knew that it was a shooting situation because I saw police running with rifles,” Davis, 45, told CNN. “That’s when I got emotional.”

‘King Richard’ Star Aunjanue Ellis Reveals That She’s Bisexual, Recalls As A Teen Trying To Train Herself To Like Boys: It Was Exhausting
‘King Richard’ co-star Aunjanue Ellis is ready to fully live in her truth!
During a recent interview with Variety, Aunjanue Ellis, 53, revealed her sexual orientation to the world by speaking out through the magazine for their 2022 Pride issue. The two time Emmy-nominated actress spoke her truth about her sexuality and revealed that she identified as bisexual.

Aunjanue Ellis recalled growing up queer and as a teenager trying to train herself to be attracted to boys, trying “to talk my body into correct behavior.” She said,

“The solitude of that is so lonely, it’s violent. It’s violent because you literally have to tuck and place so many parts of you to be acceptable, so people won’t run from you and don’t want to be around you. It was exhausting. That’s what childhood was like. That’s what adolescence was like. I knew [my sexuality], but there was no template for it; there was no example of it; there was no place for it, and certainly no forgiveness for it.”

Reportedly, Ellis was in her 30s when she realized she’s bisexual. Currently, she’s in an 11-year relationship with a man she met in church. It wasn’t until she walked the grounds of the Sundance Lab with another female attendee that she realized what she was missing in life. Ellis shared,

“We were just spending time talking and hanging out. We walked by this stream — those streams in Utah where it snows once, and then it becomes a beautiful, clear, clear stream — and there was a moment when the sun was hitting the water, and I was looking down in the water, and it was so clear, and I can only hear this woman’s voice behind me. I said, ‘This is how I’m supposed to feel. This is what I’ve been waiting to feel my entire life.’”

While the news was already known by family and friends, Ellis’ sexuality was never revealed in the media because her personal life never really came up while attending her fair share of red carpets, ceremonies, panels, and interviews. In the words of Ellis, “Nobody asked.” When speaking on working her sexuality into press for ‘King Richard,’ she explained,

“How do you work that into the conversation, in the middle of me talking about this movie? I’m not that chick. My job was to talk about ‘King Richard,’ the Williams family, these wonderful young women I worked with, Will Smith’s incredible work in that movie. I wasn’t going to be like, ‘And by the way, in case you ain’t heard yet…’ Because that’s artificial. There is an assumption made of me — a presumption made of me. Is it because I’m a Black woman from Mississippi? Is it because I’m older? I don’t know what the mechanics are that goes into them not processing, or them not just being able to believe that in the same way I am Black, I am queer. This is who I am.”

According to reports, Ellis’ current focus is on expanding the range of queer representation through her work. She emphasized the lack of Black gay or bisexual women included in story-telling today, and plans on bringing it into the world creatively through her forthcoming projects.

Derek Chauvin & The City Of Minneapolis Face Two New Lawsuits Over Ex-Cop’s Alleged Excessive Force Behavior
The city of Minneapolis and former Minneapolis police officer, Derek Chauvin, has just been hit with two federal lawsuits over incidents stemming back to 2017.

On Tuesday (May 31), two Minneapolis residents filed federal civil rights lawsuits against the city of Minneapolis and Derek Chauvin, ex-Minneapolis Police Department officer that was convicted for the murder of George Floyd. Both lawsuits allege that the former officer used excessive force during the separate encounters, including kneeling on their necks — the same way he did when he killed George Floyd.

Both lawsuits from the Plaintiffs claim racism. The Plaintiffs, Zoya Code and John Pope, are Black and Derek Chauvin is white. Their lawsuits state that Chauvin restrained them on the ground and used his “signature move” by putting his knee on their necks.

On June 15, 2017, Chauvin and another officer responded to a call in which Zoya Code’s mother reported she had assaulted her. During the encounter, officers handcuffed her to the ground “without incident” then carried her out of the house by her arms, which were cuffed behind her back. The lawsuit states,

“Outside the residence, Defendant Chauvin gratuitously slammed Zoya’s unprotected head on the ground. Then he immediately took his signature pose, kneeing on the back of Zoya’s neck.”

The complaint alleges his knee was on her neck for 4 minutes and 41 seconds. According to the lawsuit, Zoya Code “never presented an immediate threat to the safety of the officers or others” during her arrest.

On September 4, 2017, Chauvin was responding to a domestic dispute call when John Pope was allegedly hit in the head at least four times with a metal flashlight during the encounter. John Pope, who was 14 at the time, was then put in a chokehold by Chauvin with his knee on his upper back and neck for more than 15 minutes. The lawsuit reads,

“Defendant Chauvin then executed his signature move: he pinned John to the floor with his body weight, pressing his left knee into John’s upper back and neck. … Chauvin would proceed to hold John in this prone position for more than fifteen minutes, all while John was completely subdued and not resisting. Over those minutes, John repeatedly cried out that he could not breathe.”

The lawsuits name other officers involved, with both complaints alleging that at least seven other officers did nothing to intervene, and that his sergeant reviewed and approved the use of force. The Minneapolis City Attorney’s Office indicated it is considering settlements. Criminal charges against Code and Pope were eventually tossed out.

The city of Minneapolis is also named as a defendant in each lawsuit. Both lawsuits claim that if the Minneapolis Police Department had disciplined Chauvin for his dangerous restraint techniques in the past, he wouldn’t have stayed on the job long enough to kill George Floyd in 2020.

As previously reported, on May 25, 2020, Derek Chauvin, 46, responded to a call after a store clerk suspected George Floyd may have used a counterfeit $20 bill at a local grocery store. The then-officer placed his knee on George’s neck, ultimately resulting in his death. Chauvin kneeled down on the 46-year-old Black man’s neck for 9 1/2 minutes as he pleaded “I can’t breathe.”

Chauvin was sentenced to 22 1/2 years in state court in 2021. He is awaiting sentencing on the federal charges. Chauvin was ultimately found guilty of unintentional second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. In April, he appealed his conviction to overturn the jury’s verdict to reduce his sentencing and asked for a new trial.

Chauvin was a member of the Minneapolis Police Department from 2001 to 2020. Chauvin’s attorneys have not responded to requests for comment.

Brooklyn subway shooting victim sues Glock gun manufacturer
After suffering injuries during the Brooklyn subway shooting, a woman is suing gun manufacturer Glock. Ilene Steur alleges that the company’s distribution practices allowed the suspect to get the gun used in the attack, The Guardian reports.

Steur filed the suit in the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of New York and has named the Georgia-based company, Glock Inc., as well as its Austrian parent company, Glock Ges.m.b.H, as defendants.

She was among the passengers riding the subway on April 12 when the suspected gunman, Frank James, reportedly placed two smoke grenades inside of the train before opening fire.

“I always see on the news about people — innocent people — getting shot, and my heart goes out to the victims and their families. I never thought I would be one of those victims,” said Steur in an official statement. “There has got to be better control of who gets their hands on these guns.”

The 49-year-old is one of 10 people who were wounded in the attack. According to the suit, due to her “serious and permanent personal injuries,” Steur is no longer able to perform normal activities.

Since the late 1980s, Glock has sold its weapons in the U.S. and initially marketed them to police departments, per the details of the lawsuit. Its lightweight and high-capacity semi-automatic pistol offered an alternative to the six-round revolvers that were previously used by law enforcement agencies.

Today, the lawsuit alleges that the gun manufacturer purposely produced more guns than were needed and thus created a secondary market in which the firearms are able to be resold in various places, including pawn shops.
The Glock pistol used by James in the April attack was purchased from a pawn shop located in Columbus, Ohio in 2011.

“Defendants are aware that by over-saturating the market with guns, the guns will go to the secondary markets that serve purchasers with a criminal intent, such as James,” the suit reads.
Glock has not immediately commented on the lawsuit.

Over 20 Black staffers exit Biden's White House, claim they aren't valued
Roughly 21 Black staffers have made an exit from the White House since late last year citing a toxic work environment and no chance for upward mobility, Politico reports.

The first huge exit occured in December 2021 when Vice President Kamala Harris’ senior adviser and chief spokesperson Symone Sanders announced that she was leaving. She ultimately took on a new role as a correspondent for MSNBC.

Other departures include Harris senior aides Tina Flournoy, Ashley Etienne and Vincent Evans. Press assistant Natalie Austin, National Economic Council aides Joelle Gamble and Connor Maxwell, and a host of others are among the notable staff that has made an exit.

According to both current and former White House officials, the name for the mass exodus has been coined as a “Blaxit” and has raised eyebrows among outside resources that advocate for a more diverse government.

“I have heard about an exodus of Black staffers from the White House — ‘Blaxit’ — and I am concerned,” said Spencer Overton, president of the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies. “Black voters accounted for 22 percent of President Biden’s voters in November 2020. It is essential that Black staffers are not only recruited to serve in senior, mid-level and junior White House positions, but are also included in major policy and personnel decisions and have opportunities for advancement.”

The Joint Center of Political and Economic Studies keeps a record of government staff diversity numbers, which a White House official says is expected to increase as the administration plans to hire more Black staffers.

“The president is incredibly proud to have built what continues to be the most diverse White House staff in history, and he is committed to continuing historic representation for Black staff and all communities,” said White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. “This is a normal time for turnover across the board in any administration and Black staff have been promoted at a higher rate than staff who are not diverse.”

On the contrary, a current worker says that this is not the case.

“We’re here and we’re doing a lot of work but we’re not decision-makers and there’s no real path towards becoming decision-makers,” said one of the current Black White House officials. “There is no real feedback and there’s no clear path to any kind of promotions.”

Buffalo shooting suspect indicted on domestic terrorism and hate crime charges
The suspected gunman in the Saturday night (May 14) massacre that claimed the lives of 10 people has been indicted by a grand jury on 25 counts of charges, including domestic terrorism and murder as a hate crime, The Washington Post reports.

According to police, the suspected attacker surrendered to authorities and was charged with murder. An investigation revealed that prior to the attack, he posted a rambling, racist 180-page document online where he declared himself as a white supremacist, called his planned act terrorism, and even expressed a desire to use the incident to incite more violence.

On May 14, Payton Gendron entered a Tops Friendly Market store located in a predominantly Black neighborhood in Buffalo and opened fire killing 10 people and leaving three wounded. Most of the victims were Black.

In August 2019, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo proposed the domestic terrorism hate crime following a mass shooting at an El Paso, Texas Walmart that targeted Mexicans. It is known as the “Josef Neumann Hate Crimes Domestic Terrorism Act” and took effect on Nov. 1, 2020.

If convicted of the domestic terrorism charge – which accuses the gunman of killing “because of the perceived race and/or color” of his victims” – Gendron faces an automatic sentence of life in prison without parole.

Just 10 days after the Buffalo shooting, another suspected gunman entered Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas and killed 19 students and two teachers before he was shot and killed by responding law enforcement officers. Both incidents have resurfaced the nation’s debate on gun control.

Murder charges have been filed for each of the victims whose ages range from 32 and 86. Gendron has pleaded not guilty to all 25 charges.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges Thursday afternoon (June 2).

Johnny Depp Releases Statement After Winning Defamation Lawsuit Against Amber Heard
“Six years ago, my life, the life of my children, the lives of those closest to me, and also, the lives of the people who for many, many years have supported and believed in me, were forever changed. All in the blink of an eye,” Johnny wrote in his statement.

“False, very serious and criminal allegations were levied at me via the media, which triggered an endless barrage of hateful content, although no charges were ever brought against me,” he continued. “It had already traveled around the world twice within a nanosecond and it had a seismic impact on my life and my career.

“And six years later, the jury gave me my life back. I am truly humbled,” he added. “My decision to pursue this case, knowing very well the height of the legal hurdles that I would be facing and the inevitable, worldwide spectacle into my life, was only made after considerable thought.”

He said his goal “was to reveal the truth, regardless of the outcome.”

“I feel at peace knowing I have finally accomplished that,” he added.

Kim Kardashian Is Launching a New Skin-Care Line, SKKN by Kim
Kim Kardashian is officially entering the skin-care game. After shutting down KKW Fragrance and KKW Beauty earlier this year, the Skims founder is returning to beauty, this time with a new skin-care line called SKKN by Kim.

Kardashian announced SKKN in an Instagram post, where she introduced the products as “a rejuvenating nine-product skin-care ritual” with “refillable packaging, and clean, science-backed ingredients designed to nourish all skin types, tones, and textures at all stages of maturity.”

In a press release, Kardashian gave more insight into her decision to branch out into skin care, citing her struggles with psoriasis. “In all of my business endeavors, I've been fueled by my passion to fill gaps in the market with expertly crafted and universally loved products that are performance driven, and I have carried this same drive and approach with me into creating a legacy skin-care brand,” she said. “What began as a psoriasis diagnosis became the catalyst for my journey of skin-care discoveries, inspiring me to learn more about my skin and how to care for it. Working with some of the top dermatologists and estheticians over the years has given me the incredible opportunity to learn from their expertise, and I knew I had to share my learnings.”

The line features nine products with refillable minimalist packaging, including a cleanser, a toner, an exfoliator, a hyaluronic acid serum, a vitamin C8 serum, a face cream, an eye cream, oil drops, and night oil. Prices range from $43 to $95. SKKN is available to shop June 21 at skknbykim.com.

Kardashian's shapewear brand Skims was valued at a reported $3.2 billion, according to Bloomberg. KKW Fragrance and KKW Beauty were discontinued earlier this year, with both websites promising a “more modern, elevated, sustainable brand experience and customer experience—the way Kim has always envisioned.”

Zendaya Calls Tom Holland "the One Who Makes Me the Happiest" in 26th-Birthday Tribute
Tom Holland received the sweetest birthday message from his girlfriend, Zendaya, for his big 26th. On June 1, his Spider-Man costar shared a cuddly black-and-white photo via Instagram of the two looking quite smitten. "Happiest of birthdays to the one who makes me the happiest," Zendaya wrote in her caption alongside a heart symbol.

Her post is the latest of the Hollywood couple's adorable PDA moments. As if coordinating outfits for red carpet events and strolls around the city weren't cute enough, Zendaya and Holland upped the ante on their romantic gestures in February when they wore matching jerseys to a New York Rangers hockey game.

The pair's support for one another runs deep as their bond goes years back to when they starred in their first Spider-Man movie together. But their close relationship sparked dating rumors in July 2021 when the two were photographed sharing a kiss in Los Angeles.

They finally addressed the speculation in Holland's November GQ cover story; they opened up about wanting privacy from the public when it comes to their romance. "One of the downsides of our fame is that privacy isn't really in our control anymore, and a moment that you think is between two people that love each other very much is now a moment that is shared with the entire world," Holland told the outlet.

But even as fans continue to pry into Zendaya and Holland's relationship, it seems they've figured out the balance between keeping their most intimate moments to themselves and sharing what they're comfortable with. Either way, we support the blossoming romance between the friends-turned-lovers 100 percent.

Channing Tatum Says He and Ex Jenna Dewan See 'Eye to Eye' on Daughter Not Acting for Now
Like any proud parent, Channing Tatum wants the absolute best for his daughter Everly and thinks she can and will do anything she puts her mind to — within reason. One thing he's not quite as keen on her exploring just yet is following in his and Everly's mom, ex Jenna Dewan's, acting footsteps.

"Jenna and I, we've always met eye to eye on this one. It's pretty tough to be a child actor or artist," he says, speaking to PEOPLE in the latest issue about his new kids book The One and Only Sparkella Makes a Plan and the upcoming live-action film adaptation based on the books.

"I also believe that if you really want to be a beautiful artist, you have to go live a real life," he continues. "And I think kids in Hollywood, in general, there's a lot of things that are standing in the way to living a very normal life in the world."

The Lost City star says he's loved sharing the Sparkella experience thus far with Everly, 9, who not only inspired the two books' major plot points but also advised on a few color schemes and tutu designs. But when it comes to any direct involvement in the upcoming movie, particularly in front of the camera, Tatum wants his daughter to experience life outside of acting and Hollywood before dipping her toes into the business.

"I can't say 'yes' in this moment," he says. "Definitely not being the lead of the movie. That's never, ever going to happen. Maybe when she's 18, if she wants, if it takes us that long to make the movie, then great," he adds with a laugh. "When she's 18, she's lived a full life and she can make her own decisions, then I will put her in anything and everything that I can possibly put her in because she'll be the coolest thing in the world and she is the coolest thing in the world."

Though Tatum is staying mum on the specifics of the Sparkella movie, he hints at a possibly nostalgic style and approach.

"I love those 80s, 90s and even late 70s kids movies that have these really strange tonalities of bringing parents or adults into a kid's magical world, or vice versa," he says. "I'm reluctant to say a ton about what we're trying to do with it because I think it'll probably sound more confusing than it is. You just need to see it, because they're not making movies like this anymore. And I really want to nail it, [and make] a very fun and big experience of a movie."

Regarding the development and specific inspiration of the new book, The One and Only Sparkella Makes a Plan, Tatum says he drew from a recent experience he and Everly had when making a birdhouse.

"I had a weekend with Evie outside of L.A. at this little farm cabin sort of thing where we go and spend our weekends when we can," he recalls. "She wanted to make a birdhouse, which is the most dad-daughter thing you can do. But she didn't just go, 'Dad, I want to make a birdhouse.' She's like, 'I know how to make the birdhouse.' And I said, 'Are you sure? I could help.' And she said, 'Yeah no, just help me make it, but I know how I want it to be.' And I was like, 'Hmm, all right.'"

"We got there in the end, but it was a really long journey of watching and not being able to tell her, because she's a really strong-willed child, what was and what wasn't going to work. I had to just let her find it," he says.

Tatum also wove two other real-life moments into the book, the first being a handy method for calming yourself down when you're feeling overwhelmed, which he, Everly and Dewan call "taking a breather."

"That was happening way before this [book]. I mean, God, that was happening probably in my own life, much less Evie's," he says with a smile. "I'm a pretty emotional person as it is and I think when things happen that don't make us happy, we can [shut down]. And Jenna really helps with this and we're all on the same page as far as just bringing things down and going, 'All right, let's all just take a breath.' If you can't stop this upward climb of anxiety and emotion, there's only one way for it to go and it's just going to explode and be not great."

The second element is Tatum's "secret" and successful re-direction tactic.
"There is one secret thing that I've weaved into the story, which I don't know if it will work with every parent, but it can be a very Jedi [mind] trick in the best possible way," he explains. "Evie loves to teach me things. She loves to know that she's got one over on me or she's in the power position, and so we wove it in very subtly, where Sparkella helps her dad sparkle-fy his motorcycle. It is a thing that I use a lot with Evie, I'm like, 'I don't know how to do this. I need help.' And she really steps up when she thinks she can be helpful."

Tatum's The One and Only Sparkella Makes a Plan is now available.

Jada Pinkett Smith Wants Will Smith & Chris Rock to ‘Reconcile’ Post Oscars Slap
*For months, folks have been waiting for members of the Smith family to address the slap that happened the night of the Oscars in detail.
Though all parties involved have not spoken too much about the situation, #JadaPinkettSmith did address the situation in the latest episode of “Red Table Talk,” as the show focused on alopecia.

Jada said, “This is a really important Red Table Talk on alopecia. Considering what I’ve been through with my own health and what happened at the Oscars, thousands have reached out to me with their stories. I’m using this moment to give our alopecia family an opportunity to talk about what it’s like to have this condition and to inform people about what alopecia actually is.”

While speaking about the infamous moment at the Oscars, Jada continued, “Now about Oscar night, my deepest hope is that these two intelligent, capable men have an opportunity to heal, talk this out and reconcile. The state of the world today, we need them both.”

Herschel Walker is ‘Mad’ at Trump After ‘Taking Credit’ for His Senate Bid
*Former NFLer Herschel Walker has won the Republican Senate primary in Georgia and he is feeling some way about his pal Donald Trump taking credit for it.
The Senate candidate appeared on the PBS interview show “Love & Respect With Killer Mike” this past weekend and called out the former president for falsely taking credit for his primary win.

“One thing that people don’t know is is President Trump never asked me,” Walker said of Trump previously claiming that he is the reason why Herschel entered the political arena in the first place. “I need to tell him that he never asked. I heard it all on television that he’s going to ask Herschel, saying Herschel is going to run,” he continued.

“President Trump never came out and [said], ‘Herschel, will you run for that Senate seat?'” Walker added. “So, I’m mad at him because he never asked but he’s taking credit that he asked.”
Walker launched his run for Senate in Georgia in August 2021, nearly six months after Trump first suggested him as a possible candidate, according to NBC News.

“Wouldn’t it be fantastic if the legendary Herschel Walker ran for the United States Senate in Georgia?” Trump said in a March via email. “He would be unstoppable, just like he was when he played for the Georgia Bulldogs, and in the NFL. He is also a GREAT person. Run Herschel, run!”

Walker told Killer Mike that he decided to run after praying about it.

“I prayed about it,” he explained. “And to be honest with you, I was praying that God would bring somebody else because I’m happy. My life is doing well.”
“But I love the Lord Jesus,” Walker added.

The longtime Texas resident, who recently registered to vote in his native state of Georgia, recently shared his intentions with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“In the United States Senate, I will stand up for conservative values and get our country moving in the right direction. It is time to have leaders in Washington who will fight to protect the American Dream for everybody,” he explained.

Former Cowboys RB Marion Barber Found Dead Inside His Frisco Apartment
Barber's cause of death is not known. The team told NBC 5 that Barber, 38, was found unresponsive.

In a statement released late Wednesday afternoon, the team said they were "heartbroken" by his tragic death.
Frisco police said Wednesday afternoon at 2:40, officers responded to a call about a welfare concern at an apartment in the 9400 block of Stratton Drive that was believed to be leased by Barber.

Police describe the investigation as an unattended death.

Barber, who would have turned 39 on June 10, was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round in 2005 and spent six seasons in North Texas where his hard-hitting, punishing style of running earned him the nickname "Marion the Barbarian."

We are heartbroken by the tragic death of Marion Barber III. Marion was an old-school, hard-nosed football player who ran with the will to win every down. He had a passion for the game and love for his coaches and teammates. Our hearts go out to Marion’s family and friends during this difficult time.
After leaving Dallas, Barber would spend a year with the Chicago Bears before retiring from professional football and returning to North Texas.

Throughout his NFL career, Barber rushed for 4,780 yards on 1,156 attempts, an average of 4.1 yards per attempt, and scored 53 touchdowns on the ground. As a receiver, he caught 179 passes for 1,330 yards with six TDs.

Barber is the older brother of former Houston Texans safety Dominique Barber and former Minnesota Golden Gophers linebacker Thomas Barber. They are the sons of former NFL player Marion Barber Jr.
Barber was also known for his humanitarian efforts, working with his foundation and giving back to his community.

Joe Krywalski, a friend of Barber's, told NBC 5 Wednesday that Barber was a great person and very generous. He said Barber was religious, played the piano and wanted to get into boxing.

Over the years Barber had several minor run-ins with the law and just last month had pleaded no contest to two 2018 charges of criminal mischief after he damaged two vehicles in separate incidents while jogging in Frisco. In 2014, when he lived in Mansfield, Barber was taken for a mental evaluation following an altercation outside a restaurant in which a car was damaged.

Billy Clark was his attorney and more. "For me. he was literally family and I'm so lost that I'm not prepared for this," Clark told NBC 5.
Clark says Barber wanted to write a book about his life, and what football and family meant to him.

He said Barber was also training to become a boxer.
"He was in tip-top shape so when I tell you I'm at a loss, I am," Clark said.

The Collin County Medical Examiner's office will determine Barber's cause of death.

Nicki Minaj Is Maxim’s New Creative Director
Nicki Minaj, the award-winning, most successful female rapper of all time, entrepreneur and media mogul, is bringing her artistry and influence to the world of sports betting through a multi-year, global partnership with MaximBet.

Minaj, who categorically disrupted the male-dominated industry of rap music, is doing the same with sports betting by bringing her style and ethos to MaximBet to illustrate the lifestyle components of the brand while vastly broadening its audience, including inviting more women into the fold.

A lifelong sports fanatic, Minaj will work with MaximBet on merchandise, parties, partnerships, fan experiences and branding all designed to bring together entertainment, sports, celebrity and betting.

MaximBet is a privately-held, licensed sports betting and iGaming operator that launched late last year in partnership with iconic, international media company, Maxim.

As part of the groundbreaking new business venture, Minaj will also serve as the new creative director of Maxim magazine, special advisor to the MaximBet Board of Directors and be actively involved in the company’s ambitious plans for iGaming.

Minaj said, “I don’t think I’ve ever been prouder of a collaboration. Merging business savvy power moves with my natural, creative, sexy, fun, and fashion-forward expression is just so spot-on as it relates to this partnership.

“I’m ready to fully step into my potential as a young, influential Queen, and owner and open doors for others to dream big. Get ready for the sexy parties and remember: scared money don’t make NO MONEY!!!! HA!!! Place your bets!!!! Let’s GO!!!”

MaximBet is currently live in the state of Colorado with market access in 11 additional U.S. States and the Canadian province of Ontario. MaximBet is the only true lifestyle sports betting brand in the industry, rewarding players with real-life, “money can’t buy” experiences. The  ground-breaking partnership with Minaj will allow the company to accentuate that even more.

“Nicki is best known around the world as a mega superstar, but we know her as a brilliant  businesswoman,” said Daniel Graetzer, CEO, MaximBet.

“Her role as a strategic advisor to  MaximBet will be invaluable to us. She’s built one of the most powerful brands in the world, her own, and she’s applying that same savvy and creativity to our lifestyle sports betting brand. I couldn’t be more excited to be working with her — she is creative, smart, passionate and bold. There is no one better suited to helping us take this form of entertainment mainstream.”

Minaj boasts 280 million social media followers and on Instagram is the most-followed rapper, seventh most-followed musician, and 18th most-followed person in the world. As one of the  most influential stars in culture and powerful female executives in business, Minaj’s role as creative director of Maxim will enable her to influence editorial, photography, profiles, covers and future events for the iconic publisher. Maxim has more than 25 million digital visitors per  month, a global circulation of nine million and is available on six continents and 75 countries.

“We are thrilled to partner with Nicki Minaj. She is an extraordinary entrepreneur and the leading artist of her generation, a combination that will be transformative for Maxim,” said Sardar Biglari, editor-in-chief of Maxim.

In business, Minaj’s collaboration with Fendi immediately sold out everywhere. Merging her art and fashion, she quickly succeeded in reigniting the brand’s popularity for Fendi logo print items with just one lyric in her 2018 hit song “Chun-Li.”

Minaj has recently achieved a similar impact with the likes of Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Crocs, DSQUARED2, Marc Jacobs, and more to the point where she wears an item on social media, and it instantly sells out online.

This announcement comes ahead of Minaj’s upcoming tour and soon to be released album, NM5. She has earned “the highest-charting hip-hop release for all female rappers in 2022” with  “Do We Have A Problem?” [feat. Lil Baby]. It has spent 13 weeks on the chart and received a Gold certification from the RIAA, becoming one of only three songs released this year to be certified.

Not to mention, “Do We Have A Problem?” generated “the biggest first-week consumption for any song by a female lead artist in 2022.” She has scored three number one hits on the Billboard Digital Song Sales chart in 2022, with “Do We Have A Problem?,” “Blick  Blick” [with Coi Leray], and “We Go Up” [with Fivio Foreign] – the most of any artist this year.

Octavia Spencer “Gutted” After Her Nephew's Death
Octavia Spencer is grieving the loss of a close family member this week, asking her fans to pray for them.
The actress disclosed to her Instagram followers on Tuesday that her nephew has died. Sharing a dimly lit photo of a vase full of pink peonies, Spencer wrote, “Grief. You wouldn’t know it by this picture that today was the second worst day of my life.” She explained, “My family lost the first of the next generation of us, and we’re gutted. Grief is the most terrifying of emotions because I can’t laugh my way out of it. I have to feel. Right now, I’m feeling for my sister who lost her only son. Her only child.” The Hidden Figures star then asked that if any of her followers are “praying people” that they “pray for her and my brother in law.”

Spencer has five sisters and one brother, the majority of whom prefer to retain their anonymity in order to protect their privacy. But one of the actress’s younger sisters, Areka Spencer, who is a morning news anchor on WRKO has previously spoken on-air about how impressed she is by her sibling. In 2012, Areka said, “I’m enormously proud of everything my sister’s done. But The Help was the greatest I’ve seen her. It was that moment of magic. When we walked out, I said, ‘You’re going to receive an award for that.’’’ And she was right as Spencer went on to win the Golden Globe, the BAFTA, the SAG Award, and the Oscar for best performance by an actress in a supporting role.

The sad news of her nephew’s passing also comes just days after Spencer celebrated her 52 birthday. In the lead-up to that occasion, the actress shared a childhood photo and an introspective moment with her followers, writing, “In about four days this five year old will be 52. What she couldn’t know is the woman she’d grow into would be fearless (of people…critters and germs are another story). She couldn’t know that the woman standing with open arms escorting her into the next phase of life would be an alternate version of herself, a version that would eviscerate any foe that would expect her to diminish her light. Protect your inner child at all costs. #alwayshavealwayswill”..

The Late John Madden To Grace Cover Of Madden 23 Video Game
Iconic football coach and sports commentator John Madden returns to the “Madden” cover after 22 years.
As part of a tribute to the late John Madden, who passed away last year, Madden will be coming back to grace the cover of Madden 2023, EA Sports announced on Wednesday.

In addition, the video game developer will be adding him to two others covers that will “pay tribute to a different chapter in Coach Madden’s unforgettable life.”

“We were thinking about this year’s game and who was going to go on it; it almost became an obvious answer,” Seann Graddy, the executive producer of Madden NFL, told ESPN in an interview. “I say that because we really wanted to celebrate Coach in the product this year and what he’s meant to us for the 30-plus years that we’ve been using his name in our game.”

The beloved coach was inducted into the professional Football Hall of Fame back in 2006 as the coach of the Oakland Raiders. Since its creation in 1988, Madden has sold more than 130 copies and generated at least $4 billion, CNN Business reports.

The EA Madden NFL Twitter page announced that the full reveal of the covers is set to debut on June 2.

Supreme Court Blocks Texas Law that Censors Social Media
The Supreme Court buckled down and blocked a pending Texas law that controlled social media censorship. The law bans online platforms from restricting users’ political views.

The 5-4 ruling comes after tech and social media companies argued the law would violate an individual’s First Amendment, which is freedom of speech. The Texas law will allow Texans and the state of Texas to sue companies that “censor” an individual based on their viewpoints by banning them, discriminating against them, and removing their posts.

Though it remains blocked right now, it moves to the 5th U.S. Circut of Court of Appeals.

The Computer and Communications Industry president, Matthew Schruers, filed the petition and said, “We are encouraged that this attack on First Amendment rights has been halted until a court can fully evaluate the repercussions of Texas’s ill-conceived statute.”

According to Politico, HB 20, “could drastically change the way social media companies operate by restricting their freedom to police their platforms and forcing the platforms to justify decisions they make on multitudes of posts a day.”

Florida has a similar law, SB 7072, that the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled was “largely unconstitutional” and violated the First Amendment rights. Moreover, similar bills have been introduced in Michigan and Georgia
