Not messing around on the topic of her acting aspirations, Riley’s mom said: "I would love to do a really amazing cult TV series. Or a Marvel movie, because my son would love me. It's not like modelling where you can wing it and charm people and dazzle them with your looks, you’ve got to do the work. There are OK actors, there are good actors, then there are amazing actors. I want to be up there. I don’t want to be good or OK. I want to be flippin’ amazing!"
Jourdan Dunn speaks candidly in the interview being certain that Riley doesn’t embrace her own struggles with self-affirmation. "My self-talk when I was younger was so negative. The lessons that I'm learning, I'm making sure that I’m teaching them to Riley. Love starts with self. I will get mad at Riley if I hear negative self-talk like, 'Oh, I'm so rubbish!' I'm, like, 'Riley, Riley, don't say that!'"
New bouts of deep guilt in her adult life flourished when Riley, now 11, was born with sickle cell disease. "I had the support of my mum and everyone, but it’s not the same. Mentally, it was a lot. I was going through a lot of guilt and shame because I felt I’d given this to my son - I have the [genetic] trait - and I had to hold that in."
The top model sought assistance in therapy a few years ago, a decision that not only confronted her lack of self-love but also helped Dunn to focus on a life outside the world of being a fashion model.
While sickle cell can impact any race or ethnicity, Black people are infected at far higher rates. Riley had his first sickle cell crisis as a baby, requiring a blood transfusion and a trip to a nearby hospital. The condition causes lung conditions, fatal infections and strokes.
Jourdan Dunn is now a trustee of the Essenelle Foundation, providing mental health support to people with sickle cell and their families. Based on the foundation’s Twitter feed and Dunn’s references to early fundraising efforts supported by the fashion industry, the group appears to be new.
In 2020, Jourdan Dunn became engaged to rapper and designer Dion Hamilton.
#RHOA: Kandi Burruss Is Busier Than Ever!
Kandi Burruss isn't exactly a rookie when it comes to booking studio time, but she seemed more than happy to be back in her home away from home when she posted a photo to her Instagram this week in which she was spotted in the studio.
"Being in the room listening to music with these guys got me feeling inspired!" Kandi wrote about hanging out in the recording studio. The Grammy winner ("No Scrubs," duh!) and The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member posted a photo alongside artist MalcUpNext, producer Mr. Hanky, and songwriter/engineer/producer Jayo Muziq. MalcUpNext also posted a photo with Kandi and captioned it: "Today was dope."
As fans will recall, Kandi has had an incredible career in music, from her time in Xscape, her work as a songwriter for everyone from TLC to Destiny's Child to 'NSYNC, as well as her solo work (she released a song "Fake People" in 2018). She also appeared on and won The Masked Singer in 2020.
Earlier this year, Kandi's solo track "Don't Think I'm Not" was sampled on the track "When You're Out" by Billen Ted and Mae Muller. "Much love to @billented & @maemuller for making me a part of another hit! Everybody add #WhenYoureOut to your playlist! I love it!" Kandi shared on Instagram.
In other news, Kandi, who acts on the series The Chi and also narrated Keeping Up With the Joneses, recently announced her next big gig. In June, it was confirmed that she has joined the producing team of the upcoming play Thoughts of a Colored Man, which is set to star Broadway's first all-Black, male cast.
She shared some details about the endeavor on Instagram: "History in the making! Kandi added in a separate Instagram post, "I am so excited to announce that I am one of the producers of the play Thoughts Of A Colored Man [and] it’s coming to Broadway in October. The first ever play starring all Black men, [and] written, directed, [and] produced by all African Americans that will be on Broadway! I hope you support [and] get your tickets today! This is definitely a win for the culture. Wow! This a dream come true to add Broadway producer to my resume!"
In an interview with ET last month, Kandi, who has performed on Broadway in the past, opened up a bit more about what theatergoers should expect from the play. “It's one of those plays that will pull on your heartstrings. It'll make you laugh. It'll just take you through all the different emotions -- when I tell you, our cast is amazing," she said. “So I'm so super excited to see these men be able to bring to life the African-American male experience, but in a way that you've never seen it or never heard it, which is important because so many times in the past it has just been this whole thing of negativity. And I think that people need to see that it's so much more to Black men that you probably never knew.”

98 Degrees is back and the pop quartet has reunited to celebrate the summer season.
On Friday (July 9), Nick Lachey, Drew Lachey, Jeff Timmons and Justin Jeffre dropped their comeback track as part of their "98 Days of Summer" campaign, which celebrates the band's music and will culminate in the release of an EP featuring remixes of their biggest hits, as well as new cuts. As for the new track, "Where Do You Wanna Go," the song hears the band reveling in their '2000s pop mainstay and was recorded at a makeshift recording studio at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino during quarantine.

"In my personal life, I was starting a young family, Nick had just gotten married and we were all going in different directions. And then 9/11 sort of set that mark for us. We were together finishing a long tour, 9/11 happened and then everything was in flux. Nobody knew what was going to happen. And so we were all like, ‘All right, let’s go to our families. All of us just went in different directions and stayed there for over a decade. But it wasn’t like a breakup or anything like that."
#HipHopNews: Cardi B Victorious In Wild $3m ‘Herpes’ Lawsuit!
Cardi B can now fully focus on baby number two after securing her latest courtroom victory.
According to a report from Hollywood Unlocked, a $3 million lawsuit was thrown out in the “WAP” rapper’s favor after a federal judge dismissed YouTuber Tasha K’s multi-million dollar suit — which alleges she was threatened and experienced emotional distress.
The latest development in this year’s long case will now force the content creator to undergo a hearing with the multi-platinum rapper to determine whether or not she will be responsible for upwards of $75,000 in Cardi B’s legal expenses and other damages.
The beef between Cardi B and Tasha K began to take a nasty legal turn in April of 2019 when the Atlantic Records artist filed a defamation lawsuit against the UnWineWithTashaK video series host after she allegedly posted dozens of videos making inflammatory remarks and claims about her sexual history — implying Cardi B was a prostitute and had herpes and HIV.
A December report from AllHipHop revealed Tasha followed up Cardi’s initial litigation with a $1 million lawsuit of her own due to the stress, anxiety and gang-related threats she experienced as a result of the tumultuous battle.
Then in September of 2020, Cardi B re-submitted her suit with a new claim that Tasha K was spreading lies and ruining her reputation after the YouTuber purportedly admitted the claims she maid about were untrue in a video she shared on September 21st.
Though she doesn’t stand a chance in receiving the major payout the lawsuit could’ve generated, Tash K seemingly shrugged the sting of her civil court defeat on Twitter Friday (July 9).
“Last text, until tomorrow,” she started off. “I ain’t gotta pay no dayummm 3 mill! For the pre school adult students in the back. I only lost my case! We going to court in front of a jury to see if I gotta pay her lil $75k plus. We will talk again in September! hold off on dragging me.”
She followed up her initial remarks with a stone-faced selfie.
“My face after hearing that my case was thrown out!!!!!!” Tash tweeted in the hashtag littered message. “why you do me like that! I’ll be kicking and screaming in the car later! #mindthebusinessthatpaysme #unwinewithtashak #nowigottagobye.”
And though this may or may not be the last time the public hears about Cardi B and Tasha K’s legal war, that hasn’t stopped the content creator from blogging salacious narratives about the individuals around Cardi.
In a separate tweet days earlier on July 7, Tasha K went after Cardi B’s husband Offset after sharing screenshots of a conversation with an individual claiming to be affiliated with the Migos rapper. Within the thread od DM’s, the messages uncover a twisted sex trafficking plot that purportedly utilized the likeness of Offsett and Drake and other rappers to recruit trans women over the internet.
This isn’t the first time this year Cardi B has been at the center of a legal dispute stemming from years long drama. Back in May, she demanded a lawsuit with her name on it linked to the assault of an aggressive fan outside a 2018 Met Gala afterparty in NYC be thrown out after maintaining she had nothing to do with the fight.
As they say, all clouds have a silver lining, for Cardi B that lining is a half-a-billion dollar box office debut for the Fast And Furious franchise film F9, which she made her debut in following her BET Awards baby reveal last month.
Chadwick Boseman–Trailer For His Final Marvel Role Has Been Released, Series Set To Air On Disney+ Next Month!
Fans of Chadwick Boseman will soon get the chance to hear his voice again in his upcoming, final Marvel role.
Marvel Studios released the official trailer for What If… The animated series will air on Disney+, and it’s focused on exploring alternate realities for various Marvel characters and plots. This alternate world focus is exemplified by some standout narration points in the trailer, such as:
“Enter the Multiverse of infinite possibilities.” In the animated series, Chadwick Boseman voices his Black Panther character, T’Challa. In What If…, T’Challa will reportedly play the role of Star-Lord–a title from Guardians of the Galaxy–in one of many Marvel crossovers.

Additionally, there’s a crossover between Iron Man and Black Panther in the series, as Killmonger is seen saving Tony Stark from a missile in the trailer.
Chadwick Boseman voiced his character for What If… shortly before his death this past August. As a result, this is his final role within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The animated series will begin airing on Disney+ on August 11th.

Kobe Bryant’s Widow Vanessa Says Proves NBA Star Didn’t Promise To Support Her Mother!
Vanessa Bryant says she has the smoking gun to prove her mother’s lawsuit against Kobe’s estate is a bunch of nonsense.
According to court document, the NBA star's widow believes her mom lied to the court and wants all claims dismissed.
Last year, Sofia Laine took her daughter to court over an alleged promise the NBA star made during his lifetime. She claimed Kobe said she would financially support her throughout her life.
However, Sofia said after Kobe’s tragic passing Vanessa cut her off and kicked her out of her home. In the suit, she claimed to have helped raise her daughter’s kids for 18 years.
She accused Vanessa of not providing her with proper meal breaks or paying her overtime.
Her lawyer wrote, “Unfortunately, Kobe Bryant's promises did not see the light of day as he is now deceased, and Vanessa Bryant took each and every step she could to void and cancel all of Kobe Bryant's promises made to [Laine]. Vanessa Bryant did not intend to honor any of the Bryants' representations.
Vanessa denies Kobe ever promised to pay her mother’s bill forever. She called the lawsuit nothing more than an “extortion attempt.”
She said, "This lawsuit is frivolous, disgraceful, and unimaginably hurtful. My husband never promised my mother anything, and he would be so disappointed in her behavior and lack of empathy."
Recently, lawyers for Vanessa filed a bunch of documents in the case. They say Sofia’s claim Kobe promised to take care of her contradicts statements she made in her divorce back in 2008 and 2009.
At the time, Sofia was fighting her ex-husband over spousal support payments. Her ex-husband was trying to avoid paying claiming Sofia was being taken care of by Kobe and Vanessa.
In the filing obtained, Sofia wrote, “I have never once ever asked for Vanessa’s financial assistance or support. Vanessa does not currently prove me with housing, money or other support.”
She claimed Kobe and Vanessa had helped her to pay off mortgage debt but she reimbursed them for the loan.
In one declaration, Sofia said, “Vanessa was not financially supporting me then, and she is not financially supporting me now. I did not live with Vanessa and Kobe then, and I do not live with them not, nor do I permanently reside in a home owned by Vanessa and Kobe.”
After making the statements in court, Sofia was awarded spousal support from her ex-husband. Vanessa says the court records should be enough to have the current case thrown out of court. A judge has yet to rule.
Conor McGregor Suffered A Broken Leg In His Loss To Dustin Poirier At UFC 264!
UFC 264 has just concluded in strange, shocking fashion. Conor McGregor, after struggling in a round he lost to Dustin Poirier, suffered what appears to be a freak broken leg as he rolled over his ankle while throwing a punch in the dying seconds of the opening round.
via: Uproxx Just six months after drawing level in their career head-to-head, Dustin Poirier defeated Conor McGregor after a freak injury ended the fight at the end of the first round on Saturday night at UFC 264 in Las Vegas.
McGregor was aggressive out of the gate, tearing away at Poirier’s midsection and lead leg with a slew of kicks before landing a few shots up top. Poirier sent McGregor back with a few stiff combinations before his opponent grabbed him up in the clinch. McGregor attempted a guillotine, but Poirier escaped on the ground to take top position. McGregor and Poirier traded huge elbows on the ground before Poirier got to his feet and jumped back in. Poirier dropped bombs on McGregor from on top, but the former champion landed a huge up kick.
At the end of the round, McGregor stepped backward and suffered a broken leg to end the fight.
Poirier needed just a round and a half to put McGregor down in January, using stifling leg kicks and precise strikes to TKO the former double champion. It was a drastically different Poirier than in his first bout against McGregor in 2014, where he suffered a first-round knockout at the hands of McGregor.
Both fighters came into Saturday night with a clear opening in the lightweight division to earn No. 1 contender status. With Khabib Nurmagomedov retired, the gap is razor-thin between Poirier as the UFC’s top contender for Charles Oliveira’s belt and the likes of Justin Gaethje, Michael Chandler and Tony Ferguson in the rankings. With the win though, Poirier looks in full control to see out a title shot against Oliveira.
Two More Suspects Arrested Over Killing Of Gay Man In Spain!
The death of Samuel Luiz, the 24-year-old gay man who was violently beaten in Spain, has prompted two more arrests.
According to authorities, the attack on the nursing assistant in the northern city of Coruna has seen the arrests of additional suspects. "Two new arrests, two minors of Spanish nationality, linked to the Samuel homicide, bringing to six the number of people detained at this stage," the national police tweeted on Friday (July 9). Thus far, four suspects between the ages of 20 and 25 have been arrested. One of the suspects is female, while the remaining three are men.
According to reports, Luiz's friend told Spanish media that he was making a video call when two people accused him of trying to film them during the early hours on Saturday. When he explained that he was talking to a friend, he was hit by one of the attackers. Afterward, the attacker reportedly returned with several others and beat Luiz unconscious. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died from injuries later that day.
Police have yet to deem the incident a homophobic attack. Instead, a spokesperson has said that "all hypotheses are open."
A 94-Year-Old Grandmother Fulfills Her Dream Of Wearing A Wedding Dress!
Martha Mae Ophelia Moon Tucker smiled from ear-to-ear when she put on her wedding dress. The 94-year-old grandmother, who was married in 1952, always wanted to wear one. But she says Black women weren’t allowed in bridal shops at the time, Al.com reports.
Tucker’s grandkids made her dreams come true last week when they surprised her with a trip to David’s Bridal in Hoover, Alabama.
Al.com states when Tucker’s granddaughter Angela Strozier heard her mutter, “I’ve always wanted to try on a wedding dress,’’ Strozier thought of a solution. “I said, ‘That’s no problem.’ She kinda brushed me off. She didn’t think I would do it.”

However, Strozier followed through. She went online booked an appointment at David’s Bridal, and called Birmingham makeup artist Pharris Clayton to provide Tucker with a makeover. When they arrived at David’s and explained exactly why they were there, the staff all pitched in to make Mrs. Tucker’s day even more special.
“Everyone was so elated to help me do that for her,’’ Strozier said. “Everyone was catering to her because I told them her story.” Tucker tried on two bridal gowns, including one adorned with a floral-laced pattern.
“I felt like I was getting married,’’ Tucker said. “I didn’t want to take it off, but I knew I had to. I looked good in it though.”
The wedding experience at David’s Bridal is just one of the widowed Tucker’s requests fulfilled by her grandkids. Strozier explained that she has no problem doing things like that for her grandmother because she is “always willing to entertain” them and their “shenanigans.’’ “She has always told us to give her her flowers while she’s still here, not when she’s gone, so she can enjoy them,” Strozier said. “So, whenever she expresses that she wants to do something, wants to go somewhere, wants to experience something, we try to our best to make it happen… She’s our grandmother, and to have a grandmother so full of life at 94 is a blessing.”
Bill Cosby Wants Payback As He Mulls Lawsuit Against Pennsylvania Over Prison Time!
Bill Cosby is mulling a lawsuit against Pennsylvania, accusing the lawyers for his accusers of having “an axe to grind against black men.”
The comments were made Friday by Cosby’s publicist Andrew Wyatt. The comedian was released from prison last month after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned his 2018 conviction for sexual assault, citing violations of his due process rights.
According to Wyatt, Cosby is hoping to make “a couple of hundred grand” in compensation.
“We are looking at what recourse, what legal recourse we can take against the state of Pennsylvania,” Wyatt told The Domenick Nati Show. “We are looking at all legal angles for those things right now.”
Wyatt went on to criticize attorneys Gloria Allred and her daughter Lisa Bloom, who represented several of the more than 60 women who came forward to accuse Cosby of alleged sexual harassment.

Tristan Thompson and Khloe Kardashian may not be together, but that didn't stop the basketball star from getting extremely territorial over his ex.
On Friday (July 9), Khloe posted quite the thirst trap that showed her rinsing her hair in an outdoor shower while wearing a bikini. The photo garnered thousands of comments, but two got the most attention.
First up was Tristan's comment, which was a series of hearts and drooling emojis that led some to speculate about the status of his and Khloe's relationship as the two officially called it quits on their on-again-off-again relationship last month. However, before the Internet could even digest Tristan's flirty comment, Khloe's ex-husband Lamar Odom entered the chat with a flirty comment of his own.
"Hottie," he wrote alongside a series of heart-eyed and fire emojis. While the comment was enough to get the Internet talking, it was Tristan's threatening response to Lamar's comment that truly sent Instagram into a tailspin.
"God brought you back the first time. Play if you want, different results," the Boston Celtics star replied to Lamar's comment, referring to the former Los Angeles Laker star's near-fatal overdose in 2015.
As fans know, Tristan has continued to leave flirty comments under Khloe's Instagram pictures despite their break-up. While a source told People on Thursday (July 8) that the former couple remains separated, the insider noted that the exes remain on good terms.
"For now, Khloe is single and seems okay with it," the source said. "She continues to co-parent with Tristan and they spend time together as a family. Even though he has disappointed Khloé so many times, she is still very loyal to Tristan."

Music mogul Scooter Braun has separated from his wife of seven years, Yael Cohen Braun. Page Six reports that the couple has been on the rocks for months and has decided to take a break. However, they have no plans to divorce at this time. "They’re friends," a source told Page Six. The couple shares three children -- Jagger, 6, Levi, 4, and Hart, 2.
Braun posted a tribute to Yael on July 6 to celebrate their 7th anniversary, sharing photos from their wedding alongside a sweet note. "If just for the kids you have given me everything. But thanks to you I have grown, I have been pushed to be the best version of myself and to continue growing and learning," Braun wrote. "That all happened because you came into my life. 7 years. Braun has been in the headlines the past two years after obtaining the rights to all of the master recordings of Taylor Swift's first six studio albums, much to her dismay, earning him the public "bully" image. Braun addressed the narrative in a recent interview with Variety. Braun admitted that he is disappointed that Swift interpreted the business move in a way that was more harmful than anything. "I regret and it makes me sad that Taylor had that reaction to the deal," he explained. "All of what happened has been very confusing and not based on anything factual. I don't know what story she was told. I asked for her to sit down with me several times, but she refused. I offered to sell her the catalog back and went under NDA, but her team refused it. Lil Baby Released From Police Custody In Paris!
Rapper Lil Baby, one of two people detained by French police as part of a drug investigation, has been released, officials said.
He was ordered to pay a fine for the use of narcotics, the Paris prosecutor's office told NBC News Friday morning. The amount of the fine and the name of the second person detained were not released.
Lil Baby, whose real name is Dominique Armani Jones, was in Paris with NBA star James Harden for Fashion Week.
Harden, who had been seen with Jones around Paris over the past week, was not in custody.
An investigation was opened by the city’s 8th district police precinct, the prosecutor’s office said.
Video recorded by a bystander and shared online appears to show Harden and at least one other Black man being surrounded by police and having their pockets searched.
“It’s OK," Harden can be heard in the short clip telling someone off camera. "I don’t understand."
News of the arrest was first reported by the French newspaper Le Parisien and confirmed by NBC News. The newspaper said both Jones and Harden were among a group who were stopped by police about 4:50 p.m. local time after three people exited a car smelling of marijuana.
Representatives for Jones and Harden did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Lil Wayne Shuts Down Marriage Rumors!
Lil Wayne is still very much a single man, at least technically. During Nicki Minaj's Instagram Live Thursday night, the "Seeing Green" rapper addressed rumors that he was marred to his on-again off-again girlfriend, Denise Bidot. Minaj addressed an April tweet that implied that Wayne may have tied the knot and was ready to "begin forever" with Bidot as "The Carters."
"Happiest man alive! Today is the beginning of our forever. Forever?? Forever, ever?? FOREVER EVER!!!!! The Carters," the tweet read.
"The other day it was some tweets going on, and I was like, 'Oh, what's going on?' and I texted you and I was like, 'Oh, Congratulations. I can tell you've been in a good mood,'" Minaj said with a chuckle. "And I said, 'Congratulations,' because I thought you had gotten married."
Wayne was happy Minaj brought up the marriage rumors, and was quick to shut it down as a big misunderstanding.
"I'm so glad you asked me that," a relieved Wayne replied. "I did not get married."
When he was referring to "The Carters," the award-winning rapper was talking about his sons, who recently started a rap group of their own.
"I said 'The Caters,' and girl, that's my damn sons, that's my sons' little name of their little group," Wayne said with a laugh.
White Man Who Beat Black Teen With A Bike Lock Gets Five Years In Prison!
Lee James Mouat, the white man who brutally beat a Black teen with a bike lock, has received a five-year sentence in federal prison.
Mouat’s fate was announced on Thursday after he initially pled guilty in March to willfully causing bodily injury to a victim. He admitted that the attack was racially motivated. In addition to the time behind bars, the 43-year-old received three years of supervised release.
Last June, Mouat attacked then-18-year-old Devin Freelon with the bike lock after confronting him and his friends about their music being too loud at the Sterling State Park in Detroit. Mouat spat several racial slurs during the confrontation and told the teens, “Ni**ers don’t belong on this beach.” The brutal beating left Freelon with a fractured jaw, lacerations to his mouth and face, and three of his teeth being knocked out. He has since undergone multiple dental operations.
“The cowardly and unprovoked attack on this young victim is terribly disturbing. Every individual citizen has the right to not live in fear of violence or attack based on the color of their skin,” stated Acting U.S. Attorney Saima Mohsin.
Special Agent in Charge Timothy Waters of the FBI Detroit Field Office said that combating hate crimes such as this is “one of the top priorities of the FBI.”
Mouat’s sentence is just half of the ten years that he was initially facing. He was also facing a $250,000 fine.
