A$AP Rocky For GQ Magazine confirms Rihanna romance: 'She’s the one'!

Everybody assumed A$AP Rocky and Rihanna were a thing, but he confirms their romance in a new interview — and calls her "the one."

"The love of my life," the rapper told GQ when the singer/designer's name was brought up. My lady."

He didn't share the timeline of them getting together, but they go way back. In 2012, he joined her for her MTV VMA performance of "Cockiness (Remix)" — and grabbed her behind on stage. The next year, he opened for her Diamonds World Tour. In December 2019, they walked the British Fashion Awards red carpet together — only going on to spend more time together after her split from Hassan Jameel was announced the next month. She even featured him in her Fenty Beauty ad campaign.

Asked what it's been like to be in a relationship, he said, "So much better. So much better when you got the one. She amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones."

The performer, who's said he's a sex addict, said he's embracing monogamy, adding, "I think when you know, you know. She's the One."

Rocky's spoke about traveling home with Rihanna to Barbados last Christmas — and his own connection to the island, where his father emigrated to the U.S. from.

"It was like a homecoming thing," he said of the visit. "It was crazy. I always imagined what it would be like for my dad, before he came to America. And I got to visit those places, and believe it or not, there was something nostalgic about it. It was foreign but familiar."

They also road-tripped during the pandemic — on a tour bus. They visited six cities and a few national parks while just spending time together. On the bus, they listened to the Stones, the Grateful Dead and Curtis Mayfield along the way. He dropped acid and made his own clothes —sewing, patching and tie-dyeing.

He said he "met myself" on the road — and never felt so free before, especially with a partner. "I never experienced nothing like it.”

And he said Rihanna's influenced his new album, tentatively titled All Smiles, adding, "I think it's important to have somebody that you can bounce those creative juices and ideas off of."

He even spoke about becoming a father — if it happens.

"If that's in my destiny, absolutely,” he said. "I think I’d be an incredible, remarkably, overall amazing dad. I would have a very fly child. Very."

Rocky also talked about being jailed in Sweden in 2019 after a street fight in Stockholm led to an assault charge. It turned into an international issue with then-President Trump tweeting to #FreeRocky. He recalled being in his cell and hearing on the TV, in Swedish, Trump's name and his in the same sentence.

"I was like,'‘Oh, f**k!'" he said he thought.

While he was "mad thankful" for Trump's attention to his case, which he told Trump himself in a phone call once he was released, he was also worried the controversial president's interest in his case could be detrimental. That's because he was told by Swedish authorities that he would be out in about a week, so he feared maybe "they felt like they had a point to prove because [Trump] kept saying stuff... I was hoping it wouldn't turn for the worse."

After a three-day trial, he was released pending a verdict. And while the verdict was guilty, he was given a two-year conditional sentence that imposed no further jail time.

"He didn't help," Rocky said of Trump. "He made efforts and he rooted for me to come home, but he didn't free me,” Rocky said, clearing up the "misperception."

#MusicNews: Former Danity Kane, 3lw, & Total Members Unite To Form New R&B Supergroup On Bet!

Some of the biggest R&B girl group members of the ’90s and 2000s are coming together to form a new supergroup.

Eight former members of platinum-selling groups including 702, Total, Danity Kane, 3LW, Blaque, and Cherish will take part in BET’s new reality show “BET Presents The Encore,” premiering next month.

The cast includes Pamela Long of Total, sisters Irish and LeMisha Grinstead from 702, Shamari DeVoe of Blaque, Aubrey O’Day of Danity Kane, Kiely Williams of 3LW, and twins Felisha and Fallon King of Cherish, as well as Grammy-nominated singer Nivea, who had a hit in the early 2000s with “Don’t Mess with My Man.”

According to The Associated Press, the singers will live together for 30 days to record an album at a home studio, learn choreography, and practice vocals.

Interest in the show grew last year after a clip of the pilot leaked featuring 3LW’s Williams and former Destiny’s Child member Farrah Franklin. After the video went viral, BET greenlit a full season of the 10-episode series.

“I’m super proud of this show,” said executive producer Carlos King, who has produced shows including “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” “It’s a love letter to girl groups. It’s a love letter to this genre that I feel like has always been super underrepresented, and I truly hope with the success of this show … it reignites the record labels to invest more in girl groups. I definitely think there’s an appetite for that.”

“BET Presents The Encore” premieres June 9.

#HipHopNews: J. Cole Lands One ‘Off-Season’ Song On Billboard Hot 100!

Considering the hype surrounding J. Cole’s long-awaited sixth studio album The Off-Season, it’s no surprise the inaugural single landed in the Billboard Hot 100’s Top 10. After all, fans have been practically frothing at the mouth for new material from the Dreamville Records boss.

According to Billboard, the inaugural single from the project, “interlude,” debuted at No. 8 on the Hot 100 earlier this week, although this week’s chart was delayed by approximately 48 hours while Billboard and MRC Data conducted standard audits on reported data.

In terms of the entire Off-Season album, early projections couldn’t be stronger. On Saturday (May 15), Chart Data reported the album was on track to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, which would mark Cole’s sixth consecutive chart topper behind 2018’s KOD.

The Off-Season is also 2021’s largest streaming debut with 59 million streams on the streaming platform giant.

J. Cole dropped off the first proper visual for the project for “amari” on Tuesday (May 17), which found the Basketball African League star melodically rhyming about his journey to success.

“Country n-gga never seen a passport/’Til I popped off and got a bag for it,” he spits. “Now I’m at the Garden sittin’ half court/Watchin’ Jr. catch it off the backboard/’Ville n-gga never seen nothing/’Cept a fucking triple bean jumping/Good dope leave a fiend krumping/Made it out, it gotta mean something.”

Russell Simmons Accuses Kimora Lee Simmons Of Fraud In New Lawsuit!

Russell has accused his former wife of stealing his shares from an investment to pay her new husband’s legal fees and has filed a lawsuit against the mother of his two children and her husband, Tim Leissner,

Simmons claims Kimora used shares from an energy drink company they invested in called Celsius. The shares were used as collateral for a bond connected to federal charges against Leissner.

Back in 2018, Leissner pleaded guilty to criminal conspiracy to violate the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and was hit with conspiracy to commit money laundering, per Forbes.

Russell alleges that the mother of his daughters Ming Lee Simmons, 21, and Aoki Lee Simmons, 18, “knew full well that Leissner would need tens of millions of dollars [$44M] to avoid jail time, stay out on bail, and forfeit monies for victim compensation.”

Russell alleges that years ago he and Kimora invested millions into the energy drink. He adds that he became suspicious when he noticed “substantial unexplained change” in regards to his shares.

He claims the couple, “conspired with each other, aided and abetted each other and together engaged in fraud by causing an unlawful conversion and fraudulent transfer.”

The entrepreneur and mogul said he is upset over the ordeal and wrote her a letter on May 5.

“I am shocked and saddened to see how your side has behaved in response to my repeated attempts to get an agreement from you to rightfully and legally reaffirm my 50% of the Celsius shares…which have been locked up with the government after being used for your husband’s bail money.”

Russell is seeking damages and restitution for equal value of the shares and interest,”to get the important family matter of the Celsius shares to a close so that we can put it behind us and carry on as the loving united front we have always been.”

The couple split back in 2009.

Simmons may be taking legal action against his ex-wife but he is currently in the hot seat himself over allegations of sexual abuse. In 2020, an HBO documentary, On the Record, was released alleging Simmons had sexually assaulted several women.

He responded to the allegations in June of 2020 while on The Breakfast Club, saying he did not intentionally victimize anyone, as reported by theGrio.

Simmons appeared on the popular morning show to defend himself, though one of his alleged victims was upset at the show and hosts for having him on.

“I could never say that someone doesn’t feel victimized… I can tell you that I don’t feel like I victimized them,” he stated.

He then revealed that his conscience was clear in the matter given he says he has taken, “nine separate three-hour lie detector tests.”

Simmons then went on to say that when he read an account by writer Jenny Lumet, in which she described how he’d allegedly assaulted after offering her a ride home, he believed her account.

However, he also said he believes the incident to be a “misunderstanding” where he thought the sex was consensual and she felt otherwise.

“It broke my heart when I read it,” he conceded during the interview. “I’d never heard it. But thirty years later, I read it and I believed her.”

Gary Owen Cuts All Communication with Estranged Wife!

Last week news leaked that comedian Gary Owen's estranged wife, Kenya Duke, was seeking $44k a month in spousal support after filing for divorce

Apparently Gary has stopped answering Kenya's texts...

From People Magazine

Duke claims that Owen will not respond to her texts "to try and work out an arrangement for the payment of our household debt" and notes that he regularly earns $200,000 to $400‚000, a month, even through the pandemic.

"I will continue to pay our monthly bills until a permanent arrangement can be made between us. I find it humiliating and hurtful to have to text Gary twice a month to ask for money," she concludes. "The fact that he does not respond to those texts leaves me feeling extremely scared and anxious. I further request that Gary contribute to my attorney's fees in the amount of $50,000 as I have no income or access to funds to pay my attorney beyond what I have already paid via credit card for which I have yet to pay off."

Tiffany Haddish Denies “Ellen Show” Rumors, “Ain’t Nobody Talk To Me About That!”

Tiffany Haddish addressed the latest rumors that she is in talks to take over the daytime talk show slot once Ellen DeGeneres ends her long-running show.

Haddish appeared on “The Breakfast Club” and denied the rumors, revealing no one has made an offer to her yet.

“I haven’t commented on it because ain’t nobody that give those jobs talk to me about it,’ she said on the radio show.

“The reason I’ve even been popping up guest-hosting Ellen is because she wanted some days off.”

While Haddish wouldn’t confirm she’s the top candidate to take over for Ellen, she did reveal that her guest-hosting stint is an opportunity for her to learn a new skill.

“I’m learning a new skill. That’s it. Y’all just watching me learn in front of everybody,” the comedian said.

“I don’t know if that’s grooming me to take over because ain’t nobody talk to me about that,” she added.

Kenya Barris and Eva Longoria’s Possible ‘Brown-ish’ Series Draws Criticism!

This week, Mixed-ish—the second Black-ish spinoff—ended its two-season run on ABC with its finale episode “Forever Young.” But the future of the Black-ish TV universe, led by original series creator Kenya Barris, remains stacked with possibilities.

In a Deadline chat with Nellie Andreeva published on the night of the Mixed-ish finale, ABC Entertainment and Hulu Originals president Craig Erwich spoke on the status of a pair of new potential spinoffs, including Brown-ish. Per the report, Harris and Eva Longoria had been trading ideas for the series, which would “revolve around a modern Latinx family.” According to Erwich, the project is in development at the moment with no “firm plans” just yet.

Erwich also spoke on the status of Old-ish, which would focus on Laurence Fishburne and Jenifer Lewis’ Black-ish characters, saying there are currently no plans to make it as a pilot.

The massively successful Grown-ish, meanwhile, will soon debut its fourth season on Freeform. The Yara Shahidi-starring spinoff has garnered critical acclaim, as well as strong viewership. In 2018, the series premiere bagged 1.56 million total viewers, becoming the network’s biggest comedy series launch in more than five years.

As for the possible Brown-ish spinoff, many of the reactions to it being in development have been far from positive. Critics of the idea noted that the Latinx community is not a monolith, thus the title is problematic, while others have more generally argued that no more Black-ish spinoffs should be made. Some have also questioned the involvement of Longoria, who last November issued an apology and a clarification after comments she made that were criticized at the time as appearing to be dismissive of Black women.

Issa Rae Says Nipsey Hussle Helped Mend Her Relationship With Lauren London!

Nipsey Hussle was a rapper, philanthropist, community leader, business owner, and apparently a peacemaker.

In the cover story for Vanity Fair's latest issue, Issa Rae revealed that it was the late, great Nipsey who singlehandedly facilitated the mending of her relationship with his longtime partner Lauren London.

As the Insecure star recalled, Lauren "took offense" to being named in both Issa's memoir and in interviews when she shared the story of how a TV executive suggested that Lauren play the lead in the cable version of Issa's web series, Awkward Black Girl. As noted by VF, "the moral of the story was not only that executives were out of touch with Black women, swapping one for another even when they were nothing alike, but also that dark-skinned Black women could be edited out of their own narratives."

However, Issa told VF she didn't anticipate the anecdote hurting Lauren's feelings, but it did.

“One of my biggest regrets, naming her,” Issa said.

The 36-year-old actress and producer went on to share how the two were able to mend their friendship after Nipsey encouraged her to speak with Lauren at Diddy’s 50th birthday party in 2020

“He was like, ‘You should just talk to her. Let me set it up,’” she recalled. “It actually sparked an amazing two-hour conversation. We had so much in common. She was like, ‘People don’t understand, I’m an awkward Black girl.’ In the same way that I was upset about the limited portrayal of Black women, she was like, ‘People do the same thing to me.’ I completely get that.”

Obama Called Trump A 'Corrupt Motherf---Er,' A 'Racist, Sexist Pig,' And A 'F---Ing Lunatic,' A New Book Reportedly Says!

Obama turned his congenial nature on its head and slammed Trump behind the scenes, a new book says.

It reportedly says Obama called Trump a "corrupt motherf---er," a "madman," and a "f---ing lunatic."

Obama and Trump have long had a testy relationship.

After leaving office in 2017, President Barack Obama, known for his affable nature, largely didn't speak out against his successor, President Donald Trump.

But by the time the 2020 presidential campaign came around, the gloves were off.

With Joe Biden in the throes of a campaign to unseat an incumbent president, Obama made several high-profile campaign appearances for his former vice president where he slammed Trump.

He also voiced plenty of R-rated criticism of Trump behind the scenes, according to "Battle for the Soul: Inside the Democrats' Campaigns to Defeat Donald Trump," a new book by Edward-Isaac Dovere, a staff writer at The Atlantic. The Guardian on Wednesday reported on excerpts from the book, set to be released next week.

According to The Guardian, the book says that in conversations with donors and political advisors, Obama called Trump a "corrupt motherf---er," a "madman," a "racist, sexist pig," and a "f---ing lunatic."

The reports about Obama's comments on Trump are likely to elicit a strong reaction from Trump.

Trump has long had an antagonistic relationship with Obama, from Trump's promotion of the birther conspiracy theory that sought to question the first Black president's citizenship to his repeated efforts to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, Obama's signature domestic-policy legislation.

While Obama and Trump would likely never play golf together, the details of Obama's contempt toward Trump have not been widely reported.

Dovere reported that Obama was keener on Trump becoming president than GOP Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, mostly because he thought Trump wasn't as clever as the Princeton- and Harvard Law-educated Cruz, according to The Guardian.

As Trump's presidency went on, Obama became less charitable toward his successor.

According to The Guardian, Dovere reported that Obama had told "big donors looking to squeeze a reaction out of him in exchange for the big checks they were writing to his foundation" that Trump was "a madman."

"More often: 'I didn't think it would be this bad.' Sometimes: 'I didn't think we'd have a racist, sexist pig,'" Dovere wrote, according to The Guardian.

The Guardian said Dovere described Obama as highly displeased by reports that Trump had been talking with foreign leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, without aides on the calls.

"That corrupt motherf---er," Obama reportedly said.

Andy Cohen Reveals Bravo Has 'Almost Cast Several Lesbians' on Real Housewives!

Andy Cohen is dishing on what could have been for the Real Housewives franchise.

In a sneak peek at Cohen's appearance on Garcelle Beauvais' podcast Going to Bed with Garcelle, the Watch What Happens Live host reveals that Bravo has considered — and came close to — casting "several" lesbian women.

"Have you ever thought about having a gay [Housewives] franchise?" asks Beauvais, a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member.

"We've talked about that," replies Cohen, 52. "It was something that we were really into many years ago. We've almost cast several lesbians. I think when you start casting gay men, it just, it's ultimately a show about women, which is why the guys have always been in the background, like, the husbands have typically been more in the background."

He continues, "And so I think the answer is we've been open to it. We almost cast a guy on [The Real Housewives of New Jersey] who was Dina Manzo's brother and Caroline's brother as the first gay Housewife. This was years ago. This was like, 2008 or nine or something like that. But we wound up just not doing it."

Ultimately, though, Cohen says he's not ruling anything out — "If the right person smacked me in the face, yeah."

Later in the podcast episode, Beauvais, 54, asks "why it took so long" to cast the first Black Housewife — her — on RHOBH.

"Because we had to wait for the perfect one, Garcelle," Cohen, who executive produces the franchise, begins, before adding that there's "no excuse."

"I think that it was a bad cycle because then the longer you waited, the more you wanted to get it absolutely perfect when you did cast a woman of color and bring them into the group," he says. "You wanted that person to succeed."

"Over the years, there have been people that we did not cast that were people of color," he adds. "We really wanted to get it right, so that we weren't casting someone that would be a one-season Housewife or like, 'oh, well she's boring' or that people said didn't fit. I just think it was this vicious cycle of wanting to get it absolutely right. The true answer is, there is no excuse. It's bad and there is not an excuse. So I could spitball here and try to come up with 20, but it sucks. And there's no excuse."

Cohen's appearance on Going to Bed with Garcelle drops Thursday at 12 a.m. ET.

See The 'Friends' Cast Back In Action For Emotional Reunion Trailer!

So no one told the cast of Friends their reunion was gonna be this way. The world's a mess, we're all stressed and, according to Jimmy Kimmel, network television is DOA. But just like back in the '90s, Monica, Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Joey and Phoebe are there for you. After a year-long coronavirus-caused delay, the Friends reunion special is ready to be streamed on HBO Max starting May 27. WarnerMedia dropped the first trailer for the get-together following their upfront extravaganza, which also teased early looks at James Gunn's Peacemaker TV series starring John Cena and Sarah Jessica Parker's eagerly-anticipated Sex and the City revival. (Watch the Friends: The Reunion trailer above.)

Speaking with People magazine, Jennifer Aniston described the intense emotions of meeting up with her old pals — Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer — over a quarter century after the show's 1994 debut. "Oh God, how are we going to get through this alive, without just crying our faces off?" she remembers thinking. And the trailer reveals that the cast's tears flow early and often throughout the special. Walking around the reconstructed set of Monica's apartment, Aniston immediately asks, "Where's the tissue box?"

But there are plenty of laughs to be had as well: the two-minute trailer reveals that the reunion will include a spirited replay of the trivia contest immortalized on the Season 4 episode, "The One With the Embryos," which is regularly interrupted by the cast cracking up. There's also a sit-down interview with the entire cast moderated by James Corden, who asks Aniston and Scwhimmer the age-old question: were Ross and Rachel really on a break? (For the record, both answer "Yes," prompting LeBlanc to immediately buzz in with "Bulls**t.")

WATCH

Other moments viewers can expect to see include a Friends-themed fashion show, read-throughs of classic episodes and special appearances by former guest stars including Tom Selleck and Elliott Gould. (One prominent player that won't be returning Phoebe's onscreen husband, Paul Rudd, whose absence has already sparked an online outcry.) And, of course, there's plenty of time where the core cast are just hanging out. "It's funny, when we do get together, it's like no time has passed," LeBlanc tells People. "We pick up right where we left off."

Las Vegas police close sexual assault case involving rapper T.I., wife!

Las Vegas police said on Tuesday that they had received a report of a sexual assault involving rapper T.I. and his wife, but the case was closed because the statute of limitations had expired.

On May 8, the Metropolitan Police Department received “a report of a sexual assault incident alleged to have occurred in 2010” involving T.I., whose legal name is Clifford Harris, and his wife, Tameka Harris, an R&B singer.

To investigate a sexual assault in Nevada, a report must be made within 20 years. But prior to 2015 the statute of limitations was four years, and because the law is not retroactive, crimes that were alleged to have occurred before 2015 still fall under the four-year limitation, the department said.

The Clark County district attorney’s office also reviewed the information and the statute of limitations, Metro said.

“Based on this, the case was closed, which is standard procedure for crimes reported outside of the statute,” Metro said.

Further information about the report was not immediately available on Tuesday.

The Los Angeles Police Department on Tuesday confirmed it is investigating the couple regarding a sexual assault allegation.

“There was a report made on April 8, 2021, for sexual assault,” spokesman William Cooper said.

Cooper declined to comment further, including to say whether the agency had received any information from Las Vegas police.

The New York Times on Tuesday reported that the California investigation follows claims that Clifford and Tameka Harris drugged and sexually assaulted multiple women in several states. The newspaper also reported that one woman claimed she was sexually assaulted by the couple after meeting them in Las Vegas in 2010.

A lawyer for Clifford and Tameka Harris has denied the allegations to national media outlets.
