#RHOA: Kenya Moore’s Offensive Halloween Costume Is Mostly Edited Out of ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’!
Bravo has re-edited a March episode in which Kenya Moore of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” wore a Native American headdress as a costume to a Halloween party filmed for the show, Variety has confirmed. Both Moore and Bravo apologized for the costume in March after the episode aired, and Moore apologized again during the cast reunion last month. A spokesperson for Bravo said the episode was edited shortly after it aired. Now, Moore is shown only minimally as a “warrior princess,” as she put it on the show.
The new version of the episode is available on BravoTV.com, the Bravo app and on VOD. In one scene featuring a confrontation between Moore and LaToya Ali (a designated “friend” on the show) as they sit on a couch, the camera goes back and forth between Ali in a mermaid costume and various chairs and decorations, rather than ever focusing on Moore.
During the March 21 episode, cast members Porsha Williams and Drew Sidora both took issue in their confessional interviews with the costume. “Kenya is a Native American warrior,” Williams said to a producer. “I thought we weren’t doing that no more. Like, I knew that this girl was crazy, but add lame to the list. Add whack to the list.” And Sidora, who clashed with Moore throughout her first season in the cast, said: “Kenya’s Native American costume is super problematic. But I’m not trying to ruffle no feathers before this girls’ trip.”
And after Cynthia Bailey is shown at the party asking Moore where she’d gotten the headpiece, Sidora continued in the confessional, saying, “I’m always the only one who sees the issues in Kenya Moore’s decisions!”
The women’s comments dragging Moore for the costume remain in the edited episode, but without the full display of what she wore.
After the backlash to the episode, and the apologies from Moore and Bravo, a story in New York magazine said the network worked with IllumiNative, an Native American educational nonprofit, which spoke “with Moore and the RHOA production team about cultural appropriation.” IllumiNative had been critical of Moore in the wake of the episode airing, asserting in an Instagram post that “costumes that mock Native peoples, defame our traditions and cultures, and perpetuate negative stereotypes are racist,” and of Bravo and its parent company: “We are also incredibly concerned that none of the producers or executives at @bravotv, @comcast, @nbcuniversal intervened although several cast members commented on how uncomfortable, unnecessary, and offensive the costume was on camera.”
This instance is not the first time in the past year that Bravo has gone back and edited or removed something that had previously aired because of offensive content. Last summer, the network temporarily took down multiple episodes of its show “Southern Charm” that had been flagged for racism, and ended up excising a scene in a Season 3 episode in which cast member Kathryn Dennis blithely gave a tour of her family’s plantation to a guest, casually pointing out a slave cemetery. And a transphobic episode from Season 1 of “Below Deck” has been disappeared entirely.
At the time, a spokesperson for Bravo told Variety that the review was something the network was doing to flag potentially offensive content.

#HipHopNews: The Game Ordered To Pay $500,000 In Damages For ‘Fake’ Australian Tour – Report!
The Game is facing a new lawsuit over an alleged fake tour overseas.
According to a report from the Daily Mail on Wednesday (May 26), the Compton rapper has been hit with a $500,000 lawsuit, ordering that he pay that amount in damages stemming from a tour in Australia that never happened in 2017.
Apparently, Justice Sarah Derrington ruled that Game, born Jayceon Taylor, and his agent, Cash Jones, are responsible for the seven-city tour being canceled and have to cough up hundreds of thousands of dollars to Australian tour promoters Tour Squad.
The Game and Jones have reportedly been ordered to pay $478,119.73 in damages, in addition to $78,508.08 in interest, plus court costs incurred by the tour company.
About four years ago, the Born 2 Rap rhymer was expected to hit the stage in five Australian cities: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. Apparently, negotiations for after-parties and shows in Canberra and Cairns were still being sorted out.
Things went awry when The Game and his crew pulled out of the trek after Tour Squad rejected the rapper and his team's request to receive $3.21 million for a documentary they wanted to film.
The judge noted that the tour negotiations were mostly done via text message or WhatsApp, allowing for there to be no paper trail pertaining to any alterations to their agreement.
Additionally, the outlet reports that tour negotiations were delayed because of Game's fees for each show, which apparently increased from $32,1000 to $51,340. The same went for his after-party costs, which were $19,250.
#BoxOfficeNews: ‘A Quiet Place Part II’ ROARS LOUD at the Box-Office!
The sequel to John Krasinski’s hit horror film exceeded expectations with a record-breaking opening weekend haul.
There’s no tip-toeing around it: “A Quiet Place Part II” opened with a bang at the box office, grossing a pandemic-best haul of $48 million over the holiday weekend, which saw moviegoers return to theaters in droves.
The sequel to John Krasinski’s hit 2018 horror flick exceeded expectations to become the biggest domestic debut of a film released during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and is projected take in $58.5 million through Memorial Day on Monday, according to the film’s studio, Paramount.
“A Quiet Place Part II,” which stars a shotgun-wielding Emily Blunt as a woman who leads her family through a post-apocalyptic world infested with monsters, was forecast to open in the $40 million range, given the number of theaters across the country that are still shuttered or operating at a limited capacity.
But the sequel has nearly bested the $50 million opening of the first film, which went on to earn $340 million worldwide, and has been viewed at 3,726 theaters currently playing the film across the country.
The film now stands as the pandemic box-office king, easily toppling “Godzilla vs. Kong,” which pulled in $30 million over it’s three-day opening weekend and was simultaneously released on HBO Max as part of the streaming service’s much-contested deal with Warner Bros.
As this weekend’s sole release exclusively in theaters, “A Quiet Place Part II” is the biggest blockbuster to debut only on the big screen since “Tenet” opened back in September 2020. Many had hoped the Christopher Nolan-directed film would revitalize the struggling cinema industry at the time, but it went on to become one of the most high-profile, pandemic-era box-office bombs.
Disney’s “Cruella” also managed to pull in some promising numbers. The live-action reimagining of the iconic villain starring Emma Stone is expected to bring in an estimated $26.5 million over the four-day holiday weekend, despite the film also being made available for subscribers of the studio’s streaming service.
“A Quiet Place Part II” was initially set to be released in March of last year before the pandemic upended the entertainment industry, and the film bounced around Paramount’s release schedule. When the sequel was first postponed, Krasinski said he’d rather delay the film indefinitely than not have people experience it together in the theater.
“One of the things I’m most proud of is that people have said our movie is one you have to see all together,” he said in a social media statement at the time. “Well due to the ever-changing circumstances of what’s not going on around us now is clearly not the right time to do that. As insanely excited as we all are for you to see this movie, I’m going to wait to release the film until we can all see it together. So here’s to our group movie date. See you soon!”
But fans will be able to watch the sequel at home before too long, as “A Quiet Place Part II” will soon head to the studio’s steaming service, Paramount+, after a 45-day theatrical release window.
Joe Lara Dies: ‘Tarzan: The Epic Adventures’ Star Dies In Plane Crash With Diet Guru Wife Gwen!
Joe Lara, who played Tarzan in the early 1990s television series Tarzan: The Epic Adventures, died in a plane crash Saturday near Nashville. He was 58 years old and was one of seven people killed in the private jet accident.
Tarzan: The Epic Adventures was an American adventure drama series that aired for one season in syndication from 1996 to 1997. The storyline focused on Tarzan’s first exposure to civilization and before his marriage to Jane. The show was filmed at the Sun City resort in South Africa.
Rutherford County Fire Rescue in Tennessee said in a statement that the crash victims were identified as Jennifer J. Martin, David L. Martin, Jessica Walters, Jonathan Walters and Brandon Hannah, all from Brentwood, Tennessee.
The Cessna Citation 501 crashed into Percy Priest Lake east of Nashville on Saturday morning shortly after departing Smyrna Airport for Palm Beach, Florida, the agency said. The National Transportation Safety Board was investigating.
Gwen Lara founded the Remnant Fellowship Church in Brentwood in 1999. She used Bible studies to help people lose weight and quit drinking. She married Joe in 2018.
Survivors include two adult children from Gwen’s first marriage, Michael Shamblin and Elizabeth Hannah.
Mo’Nique Questions When ‘Young Sistas’ Lost Their Pride Wearing Bonnets & Slippers In Public!
The bonnet debate is still trending on social media with some people arguing that Black women shouldn’t wear their bonnets outside of the house while others defending a Black woman’s right to wear whatever she wants, whenever she wants.
That debate came to a head this weekend when legendary comedian and actress Mo’Nique jumped into the conversation. Wearing a bathrobe, she took to Instagram to tell her 1 million followers a story about when she went to the Atlanta airport catching a flight to Mississippi. “I saw so many of our young sistas in head bonnets, scarves, slippers, pajamas, blankets wrapped around them, and this is how they’re showing up to the airport,” she explained in the 5-minute IGTV video. “I’ve been seeing it not just at the airport, I’ve been seeing it at the store, at the mall. I’ve been seeing sistas showing up in these bonnets and headscarves and slippers. And the question I have to you my sweet babies: when did we lose pride in representing ourselves?”
Mo’Nique’s stance is all about having pride in yourself, showing up to places presentable, and representing yourself and the family you created. She wants the young sistas to show the world they have pride in themselves without someone having to ask them and while she’s not wrong in wanting the best for our young Black Queens, perhaps her approach was a little off-putting for the Internet. She even gave us all a warning, saying “if I see you in the streets, in the airport, in the Walmart and you got a bonnet on and you go slippers on and you looking like what the f***, auntie gon’ tap you and say ‘hey baby girl, show what you’re worth.'”
For some, Mo’Nique’s point of view is very old school because as we know, historically, Black people always felt the need to prove their worth by going above and beyond to look polished, “kept” and of a higher class in order to avoid racist stereotypes and disrespectful treatment. But for others, her take is spot on, as some people in the conversation believe that a woman’s bonnet should never leave her home.
At the end of the day, people are going to do whatever they want to and Black women should be allowed to show up to spaces however they want to without being judged and having to impress strangers, especially in places like the airport or the corner store. And since Mo’Nique just added more fuel to the bonnet debate fire, social media clapped back at the comedian in memes and jokes for, what some would call, a disrespectful hot take.

#FLORIDAMANMURDERS: At Least 20 Injured, 2 Killed In Shooting Outside Florida Concert!
Violence ushered in the Memorial Day weekend in South Florida when gunmen indiscriminately sprayed bullets into crowds at two Miami venues. Two people died and at least 20 others were injured early Sunday morning during a shooting outside a banquet hall, about a day after a drive-by shooting killed one person and injured six.
Authorities called on the public to help identify the shooters.
"This type of gun violence has to stop. Every weekend it’s the same thing," said the police director of Miami-Dade County, Alfredo "Freddy" Ramirez III, whose officers were hunting down three suspects believed to have been involved in Sunday's violence.
"These are cold blooded murderers that shot indiscriminately into a crowd and we will seek justice," Ramirez said in a tweet.
This content is imported from Twitter. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site.
Two people died at the scene, police said. As many as 25 people went to various hospitals for treatment.
Clayton Dillard and his family waited outside the El Mula Banquet Hall in northwest Miami-Dade County, where the shooting took place shortly after midnight, hoping for news about a loved one they feared was among the two fatalities.
"I know he's there," Dillard said, "but they won't let me come claim him."
The bodies of two victims were awaiting to be removed from the scene, more than 16 hours after the shots rang out outside the banquet hall, which had been rented out for a concert.
Police said three people got out of an SUV shortly after midnight and opened fire into a crowd with assault rifles and handguns. The shooting was targeted, Ramirez said, but did not elaborate.
Gov. Ron DeSantis joined in mourning, saying on Twitter he was “praying for the recovery” of the victims and pledged help from state authorities.
"We are working with local authorities to bring justice to the perpetrators. Justice needs to be swift & severe!" DeSantis tweeted.
Businessman and TV personality Marcus Lemonis, star of "The Profit," took to Twitter to offer a $100,000 reward to help authorities capture the suspects.
Sunday's shooting came a little over a day after a drive-by shooting claimed the life of one person outside another venue in the Wynwood area. Six others were injured. Some witnesses likened the scene to a "war zone" after a barrage of dozens of bullets sent people scurrying in the night.
Democratic state Sen. Shevrin Jones said he wants DeSantis to do more than just pray. He’s calling on the governor to sit down with Democrats to discuss meaningful ways of addressing gun violence.
"Thoughts and prayers have been going on for years and thoughts and prayers haven’t done a damn thing inside the Black community — or any community when it comes to gun violence," Jones said.
But he acknowledged Republicans are resistant to discuss the issue.
"Republicans don’t want to talk about guns. They think we’re trying to take their guns away from them. If their talking point is that guns are for protection, or that guns are for hunting, just know that that terminology is different in certain communities," Jones said. "Some of these individuals are using guns to murder. Some of these individuals are using guns to hunt people."
Tennis Star Naomi Osaka Fined $15K, Threatened With French Open Disqualification For Media Snub!
Tennis prodigy Naomi Osaka has been fined $15,000 for missing her first French Open press conference, and has been told that further action may be taken if she continues to shun the media.
Osaka, age 23, said before the tournament that she would refuse any media obligations, as they were detrimental to her mental health. She said post-match inquests were akin to “kicking people when they’re down.”
The World No.2 received her fine on Sunday after refusing to hold a press conference after her opening round 6-4, 7-6 (7/4) victory over Romanian World No.63 Patricia Maria Tig.
“We have advised Naomi Osaka that should she continue to ignore her media obligations, she would be exposing herself to possible further code of conduct infringement consequences,” said a statement from the four Grand Slam tournaments on Sunday after she was fined. “As might be expected, repeat violations attract tougher sanctions including default from the tournament and the trigger of a major offense investigation that could lead to more substantial fines and future Grand Slam suspensions.”
French Tennis Federation president Gilles Moretton previously described Osaka’s attitude toward the media as “a phenomenal error” and “not acceptable.”
The four Grand Slam events – the French Open, Wimbledon, Australian Open and US Open – said they had written to Osaka “to check on her well-being and offer support.”
“She was also reminded of her obligations, the consequences of not meeting them and that rules should equally apply to all players,” the statement added. “Naomi Osaka today chose not to honor her contractual media obligations. The Roland Garros referee has therefore issued her a $15,000 fine.”
Osaka later agreed only to an on-court TV interview following her win on Sunday.
“For me, playing on clay is a work in progress,” she said. “Hopefully, the more I play, the better I will become.”
Later on Sunday she provided a cryptic tweet: “Anger is a lack of understanding. Change makes people uncomfortable.”
UPDATE: The French Open has deleted a post on its Twitter feed which praised players for attending post-match media conferences. It featured pictures of Rafa Nadal, Kei Nishikori, Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff at their pressers and the caption: “They understood the assignment.”
The tweet had received mixed reaction, drawing criticism for using other players’ likeness to shame Osaka over her decision.
During this year’s US Open, Osaka wore seven different face masks for each round of the annual tournament. The masks, which she started wearing when the tournament began on Aug. 31, named Breonna Taylor, Elijah McClain, Ahmaud Arbery, Trayvon Martin, George Floyd, Philando Castle and Tamir Rice.
Asked by a reporter after that tournament what message she wanted to send, Osaka responded: “Well, what was the message that you got was more the question. I feel like the point is to make people start talking.”
Michael Jordan Announces $1 Million Grant for Morehouse College!
Michael Jordan is giving $1 million to Morehouse College in Atlanta to boost journalism and sports-related studies.
via: Revolt
Basketball great Michael Jordan has faced criticism for his philanthropy and lack of activism throughout his career. However in recent years, MJ and his Jordan Brand have been vocal and supportive of the plight of Black people in America. Last June, Jordan Brand announced The Black Community Commitment, a 10-year, $100 million dedication to the Black community to fight systemic racism through a focus on social justice, education and awareness and economic justice.
On Friday (May 28), MJ and Jordan Brand announced its latest grant recipients in a Nike News release. The three programs at the forefront of “cultivating the Black experience to the wider public” are the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, Morehouse College and the Ida B. Wells Society for Investigative Reporting. This round, the hefty donations amount to $6 million over three years, with $1 million awarded to Morehouse College and the Ida B. Wells Society for Investigative Reporting and $3 million for the NMAAHC.
“Our grantees’ critical work includes education about Black history, improving the way Black stories are told, expanding sports journalism education and opportunity for students at HBCUs, and promoting leadership development among journalists and storytellers,” the release reads.
“Education is crucial for understanding the Black experience today,” Jordan said. “We want to help people understand the truth of our past, and help tell the stories that will shape our future.”
“We’ve seen this past year the impact of education and awareness on the issue of racism. When people understand what we’re fighting against, and the history behind it, we can better unite as a powerful force for change,” Craig Williams, President of Jordan Brand added.
This round of donations arrives after Jordan brand coughed up $1 million for the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. and the Formerly Incarcerated & Convicted People and Families Movement last July. It also awarded $500,000 to Black Voters Matter to support reformative initiatives for the Black community.
We definitely need to support our HBCUs.
Rugrats Reboot Features Phil and Lil’s Mom Betty as Openly Gay!
In the new Paramount+ reboot of “The Rugrats,” Phil and Lil’s mom Betty DeVille is now openly gay.
Fans were reintroduced to their favorite characters from the animated series in a new reboot that premiered last Thursday on the popular streaming service.
In the original “Rugrats” series, which ran from 1991 to 2004, Phil and Lil’s parents were happily married. Betty was married to Howard DeVille, but now actress name Natalie Morales will voice the new version of Betty, who has divorced her former husband and come out as a gay woman.
“Anyone who watched the original show may have had an inkling Betty was a member of the alphabet mafia,” Morales said.
In the new reboot, Betty owns a café called Betty’s Beans, and the character is open about her love of football and even jokes often about her ex-girlfriends.
“Betty is a single mom with her own business who has twins and still has time to hang out with her friends and her community, and I think it’s just so great because examples of living your life happily and healthily as an out queer person is just such a beacon for young queer people who may not have examples of that,” Morales said.
CNN’s Jake Tapper Calls Out Colleague Chris Cuomo: “He Put Us In A Bad Spot”!
CNN analyst Chris Cuomo placed the news organization in a bad spot, according to the network’s Lead Washington Anchor, Jake Tapper.
Cuomo was slammed for advising his brother, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, on how to respond to sexual harassment allegations. By doing so, he called into question whether the network, in particular Chris Cuomo, could impartially cover the governor’s crisis
Tapper told the New York Times that Chris’ behavior put network employees in “a bad spot.”
“I cannot imagine a world in which anybody in journalism thinks that that was appropriate,’ Tapper said in a Friday interview. “Chris, in his apology that he delivered on air, said that he put us in a bad spot. I would also agree with that.”
Tapper added that he personally works hard to be fair and ethical and not cross lines. “And I certainly understand the love that Chris has for his brother… but that was not a fun day.”
Last week, Chris Cuomo said on his CNN show Cuomo Prime Time that he had been “looped into calls” regarding his brother, who is facing several sexual harassment accusations and is under pressure to resign.
“I understand why that was a problem for CNN,’ Chris Cuomo said. “It will not happen again.”
Chris Cuomo never covered the sexual harassment allegations made against his brother on his program.
Ex-FBI Agent Claims Sealed Court Documents Reveal Notorious B.I.G’s Killer!
A retired FBI agent says sealed court documents disclosed who killed Notorious B.I.G. and claims the Los Angeles Police Department also played a role in his death.
Phil Carson exposed the case’s secrets to the New York Post where he disclosed how Suge Knight allegedly financed a hitman who killed Christopher Wallace aka The Notorious B.I.G. in 1996. “All the evidence points to Amir Muhammad. He’s the one who pulled the trigger, There were plenty of others who helped orchestrate it [and] allowed him to pull the trigger,” he explained. Carson added that corrupt officers from the LAPD had shut down evidence that proved they helped out with Wallace’s untimely death.
“I had evidence that LAPD officers were involved and I was shut down by the LAPD and city attorneys inside Los Angeles.Suge Knight financed the murder. Suge was ticked off that his cash cow Tupac was murdered. Suge had an accountant that was part of Death Row Records who helped do the financial side of things to pay for the murders.
Additionally, Amir Muhammad was reportedly the godfather of LAPD officer David Mack’s children and he was identified by multiple close sources that he was the hitman. The intended target for Mack was not Biggie Smalls but Sean Combs also known as Puff Daddy at that time.
“Amir Muhammad, AKA Harry Billups, the godparent to LAPD Officer David Mack’s two children, has been identified by several sources as the trigger man. Mack is a registered owner of a 1995 Black SS Impala with chrome wheels, the exact description given as being driven by Wallace’s shooter.”
Suge Knight is currently serving a 28-year prison sentence after he pleaded a no contest to voluntary manslaughter after a 2015 hit-and-run on the set of “Straight Outta Compton.”
Real Housewives of Potomac Star Gizelle Bryant Splits From Ex-Husband Jamal Bryant!
It looks like Real Housewives of Potomac star Gizelle Bryant is no longer trying to rekindle her romance with her ex-husband, Pastor Jamal Bryant.
via: The Grio: During an appearance on The Breakfast Club, along with her RHOP co-star and best friend Robyn Dixon, Bryant revealed that she and her ex have called it quits during the pandemic.
As host Angela Yee began to ask her how things were going with her revived relationship with Jamal Bryant, whom Gizelle divorced in 2009 over infidelity, the reality star interjected to reveal there’s been a “plot twist” since RHOP fans last saw their love story play out on television.
“We were working on us getting back to together … but he lives in Atlanta [and] I live in Maryland … with the pandemic we just realized it’s not the right time,” Gizelle revealed, adding “it’s just not going to work.”
Bryant made it very clear that she is single, “free” and ready for her Hot Girl Summer, “Spring, Winter and Fall.” She also emphasized that the father of her three daughters “will always be in my life.”
“We’ve been in each other’s lives for 25 years. He is one of my best friends [and] I to him. I don’t know anyone more than I know a Jamal Bryant,” she said. “No we’re not together but yes we are still in each other’s lives.”
Bryant’s revelation is a departure from where fans last were updated on her romance with her ex-husband. The pair’s relationship was quite the focus during season 5 and garnered a lot of opinions, including from her own castmates. What’s more, the Bryants’ relationship was hit with rumors over Jamal’s alleged infidelity, again, thanks to allegations made by former co-star Monique Samuels — who brought an alleged binder of “receipts” to the franchise’s reunion show.
“Your pastor boyfriend is slinging his big D all around his congregation in Atlanta and you know it,” said Samuels, who read out alleged text messages he sent to another woman.
“I don’t believe anything that comes out of Monique’s mouth or anything that she has in her binder. I’m glad she’s done some bindering,” Gizelle said at the time. “I knew she was coming to make up whatever.”
While on Bravo’s Chat Room in December 2020, Bryant called Samuels’ receipt book a “kindergarten scrapbook of lies,” adding “it’s very pressed … It’s very ‘in the pandemic you learned how to scrapbook’ to me.”
During the show, she also revealed that Jamal living and pastoring at New Birth Missionary Church in Georgia — where COVID-19 cases were sky-high — had put a strain on the relationship. “I’m not reckless with how I handle COVID,” she explained.
Season 6 of “The Real Housewives of Potomac premieres on July 11, 2021.
Jillian Michaels Regrets Criticizing Lizzo’s Weight, Says She Was Wrong!
Jillian Michaels has come forward to say she was “wrong” for bringing up artist Lizzo’s weight in a conversation.
“This poor woman — every single time I do an interview, her name comes up. She must want to die,” the 47-year-old fitness trainer said this week on The Carlos Watson Show when asked about the drama. “I have never once actually brought her up, I would like to make that clear. She has been brought up to me, and I would like to separate her from the issue, if at all possible. And I should have done that the first time I was asked. I should have said, ‘Let’s separate an individual from a conversation about health.’ And that is where I genuinely went wrong.”
During a January 2020 interview with BuzzFeed, the subject was brought up on its morning show AM to
The interviewer said she admired celebrity artists’—who have been categorized as plus-size—positivity of their bodies, it was Michaels who chose to say, “Why are we celebrating her body? Why does it matter? Why aren’t we celebrating her music? ‘Cause it isn’t going to be awesome if she gets diabetes.”
“I’m just being honest,” continued Michaels. “I love her music, my kid loves her music, but there’s never a moment when I’m like, ‘I’m so glad she’s overweight.’ Why do I even care? Why is it my job to care about her weight?”
Social media users slammer Michaels, who was a former trainer on NBC’s “The Biggest Loser.” Many saw her comments as fat shaming.
Even Lizzo appeared to indirectly respond by saying, “This is my life. I have done nothing wrong,” she wrote. “I forgive myself for thinking I was wrong in the first place. I deserve to be happy.”
Michaels later sent out a tweet that read: As I’ve stated repeatedly, we are all beautiful, worthy, and equally deserving. I also feel strongly that we love ourselves enough to acknowledge there are serious health consequences that come with obesity — heart disease, diabetes, cancer, to name only a few. I would never wish these for ANYONE, and I would hope we prioritize our health because we LOVE ourselves and our bodies.”
“If the conversation is about celebrating obesity, I would tell you that we need to celebrate individuals,” Michaels told Watson. “We shouldn’t celebrate somebody because they’re big. We shouldn’t celebrate somebody because they’re small. We should celebrate somebody because of the quality of their character.”“Obesity is just unhealthy — that’s it,” she said. “And it has no merit on the quality of the human. They’re not connected. They’re two totally separate issues. So the fact that these things have become interwoven in some bizarre, politically correct alternate universe is an absolute shame. Because we’re not doing anyone any favors.”
According to Yahoo News, Michaels, who has a black belt in Muay Thai and runs a fitness empire added, “When you’re an expert in a category, you have a responsibility, to tell the truth, whether it makes you popular or not.
American, Southwest Put Off Plans To Serve Alcohol After Passenger Disruptions, Assault On Board!
Southwest Airlines and American Airlines said they are holding off on resuming alcoholic beverage services, after a flight attendant was assaulted and the industry grapples with a surge of other passenger incidents on board.
A Southwest flight attendant suffered injuries to her face and lost two teeth after she was assaulted by a passenger, according to a May 24 letter from Southwest flight attendants’ union president Lyn Montgomery to CEO Gary Kelly. Between April 8 to May 15, there were 477 passenger misconduct incidents on Southwest flights, Montgomery wrote.
Airlines have been slowly bringing back some meal snack and beverage service that they had paused early in the pandemic.
American Airlines said it won’t sell alcoholic beverages in the main cabin through Sept. 13, when the federal mask mandate is set to expire. It will still offer alcohol beverages in first and business class but only in flight.
“Over the past week we’ve seen some of these stressors create deeply disturbing situations on board aircraft,” Brady Byrnes, managing director of flight service at American, said in note to flight attendants. “Let me be clear: American Airlines will not tolerate assault or mistreatment of our crews.”
Dallas-based Southwest had planned to resume alcohol sales in June for Hawaii flights, and in July for longer domestic flights in the continental United States. A Southwest spokesman said there is currently “no timetable” for the alcohol sales to resume.
“As alcohol sales are added back into this already volatile environment, you can surely understand our concern,” Montgomery wrote in the letter.
On Monday, a day after the incident on board the Sacramento to San Diego flight, the Federal Aviation Administration said it has received approximately 2,500 reports of unruly passenger behavior this year, approximately 1,900 of those cases involving travelers who refused to follow the federal mask mandate during air travel.
The Biden administration still requires that people wear face masks on planes, at the airport, and on buses and trains through Sept. 13, though the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has loosened guidelines for vaccinated individuals in other settings.
“We also recognize that alcohol can contribute to atypical behavior from customers onboard and we owe it to our crew not to potentially exacerbate what can already be a new and stressful situation for our customers,” Byrnes said.
