Sigourney Weaver for Instyle US - February 2021!
For Sigourney Weaver, badassery comes in many forms. Featured in InStyle’s sixth edition of its Badass Women issue, the timeless star opens up about being told she’d never succeed as an actor, becoming Hollywood’s first real action heroine, and what to expect next from her many secret projects.

On changing her first name when she was only 14-years-old: “I didn’t realize what a huge step it was to change my name, or what it probably said about me wanting to go my own way. I didn’t see it in that context. I just didn’t like being called Susie.” She laughs. “And look, now some people call me Siggy, which is just like Susie. You can’t escape your destiny.”

On when she was told she’d never make it as an actor while in drama school: “It was completely heartbreaking to me,” she says. “They said that I didn’t have the talent to be in the business, that they didn’t think I should be at the school. It took me many years to get over it.” “If anyone reads this who’s an acting student, do not do what I did—don’t take it so seriously and actually believe them. Just go out for a few drinks and say, ‘Fuck them!’”

On being eager to see fashion come roaring back when lockdowns are over: “Maybe dressing up will become more personal, more individual—and more comfortable, which I think is a great thing.”

#RHOA: Cynthia Bailey Claps Back After Wendy Williams Questions If Daughter Noelle,21, Came Out For A ‘Storyline’!
Cynthia Bailey revealed the real reason why her daughter, Noelle, came out as sexually fluid on ‘RHOA’ while appearing on the Jan. 7 episode of Wendy Williams’ talk show.
Cynthia Bailey, 53, made one thing clear while calling in for the Jan. 7 episode of The Wendy Williams Show. Her daughter Noelle Robinson, 21, did not come out on The Real Housewives of Atlanta in 2019 because her mom supposedly “needed a more interesting storyline than the happy married lady,” which Wendy Williams suggested on Thursday’s episode.

“Noelle is not a Housewife…she does not actually have to share her life with you guys,” Cynthia clarified during the interview. The Bravo star later added, “Let me just say this, this is really important. The reason I really wanted Noelle to tell her story on the show is because as a reality star family at this point, if we don’t talk about it on the show and people find out about it, they almost feel like we’re hiding it.”

“I didn’t want Noelle to feel ashamed and embarrassed or have to hide her truth,” Cynthia continued, who feared that someone could easily snap a photo of Noelle out “walking around holding hands with a girl” that could end up on The Shade Room. Cynthia wanted Noelle to take charge of her narrative instead.
“I wanted her to tell her own story,” Cynthia said. “It wasn’t for my storyline. It was because she needed to get in front.”

Noelle came out as sexually fluid on the Nov. 2019 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, after starting her freshman year at Howard University. “People try to box everyone in and put labels on everything, but I don’t really do that. That’s just what it is. There’s a lot of attractive guys, and there’s a lot of attractive girls,” Noelle told her famous mom, and Wendy even gushed over Cynthia’s accepting reaction after the episode had aired. Cynthia later recalled why the moment was so “powerful”.

Noelle became Instagram official with YouTuber Alexis Powell in March of 2020. However, they have since broken up; Cynthia’s daughter revealed that she had been “single” for a “few months” in a YouTube video uploaded by December of that year.

#HipHopHews: Lil Kim To Narrate 2nd Season Of 'American Gangster: Trap Queens' Docuseries!
BET+’s inaugural unscripted series American Gangster: Trap Queens is coming back for a second season and Lil Kim has been tapped to narrate, following Jeezy in season one.
The first five episodes will be released on Thursday (January 14), telling the real-life stories of some of the most notorious female gangsters. This batch will focus on the stories of Perrion Roberts, Brandi Davis, Dwen Curry, Tiffani Rose Peak and Shauntay Henderson – whose rap sheets range from grand larceny to bank and wire fraud and drug trafficking.

In a statement, the show’s executive producer Frank Sinton promised a wide range of topics for the show’s return.
“While addressing social issues such as systematic racial and gender disparities, the stories this season vary from thrilling to shocking and everything in between,” he said.

While she’s down to help these other women tell their story, Kim was notoriously not happy when film execs attempted to tell hers in the 2009 Biggie biopic Notorious – and took a moment to remind her fans of that a few months back just in case they’d forgotten.
“I hate that movie,” she told Fat Joe over the summer. “To me, it was like a spoof. It was something that I would have never approved. I didn’t like who played me. No. No, no, no, no.”

Sunny Hostin Says On 'The View' Both Of Her In-Laws Died Of COVID: 'We Are In Deep Grief'!
Sunny Hostin revealed her family’s personal coronavirus tragedy on the latest episode of The View.
On Friday, the talk show host announced that both of her husband Dr. Emmanuel Hostin’s parents passed away over the holidays after battling COVID-19.
“Although I’ve chosen a very public career, those of you that know my husband Manny know that he is intensely private, but after speaking with him, he felt that from a public health standpoint that this was very important for me to share that we are deeply saddened that Mani lost both of his parents over the holidays,” she said.

According to Hostin, her father-in-law, Dr. A. Emmanuel, died on Dec. 28, while her mother-in-law, Dr. Maria Jesus, died days later on Jan. 1 and shared that the couple, both doctors, was extremely cautious throughout the pandemic.
“They didn’t celebrate Thanksgiving with us because we all decided that it wasn’t safe. And after a lot of contact tracing we still don’t know how they contracted this virus and this disease,” she explained.
Sunny went on to thank the healthcare workers that provided “incredible care” and further expressed her appreciation to them for allowing the family to FaceTime with their loved ones as they were dying. She went on to warn viewers that the pandemic is not a hoax and thanked her co-hosts for their support.

“I want to also thank my View family and my ABC family, Whoopi for sending so much food for several weeks,” she said. “Ana for calling us and giving us all the information that you gained when Al was battling this virus, Meghan for distracting me with all the pop culture news and sending us bourbon. Manny says it’s the best condolence gift he’s gotten so far. Joy for your calls with your humor. You guys really wrapped your love around us and we’re so very thankful, but COVID is devastating.”

Sunny concluded her remarks with a call to action, urging people to take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and the ones they love.

“And while my kids and Manny’s siblings, Helen and Carlos, we are in deep grief, we want everybody to know that…you may think you’re healthy and that you won’t be impacted, but you could be an asymptomatic carrier, you could put someone you love at risk,” she warned. “So please I beg of you social distance, wear your mask, wash your hands and if you get the opportunity take this vaccine, take it. Manny took his first dose, he’s going to take the second dose. I am going to also get vaccinated. We can survive this together, but we must do this together.”

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Spent the Holidays Together Amid Marriage Trouble!
Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West may be headed toward a breakup, but it appears their Christmas was filled with lavish gifts of love.
Amid split rumors, according to ET the two were together for the holidays and even bought each other luxury presents. Kanye showered Kim with five 2021 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600s, while the reality star bought her husband several art pieces by James Turrell. TMZ was the first to report on the gifts.

A second source said earlier this week that Kim "has considered" divorcing Kanye, and that their marriage counseling hasn't made "much headway." The two share four kids together, North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 2, and Psalm, 1.

"She knows what's best for her and their kids, so if things ended she would want them to end amicably so they can co-parent together as best as possible," the source said of Kim. "They have been living separate lives for months, so any issues they're having aren't a surprise to Kim’s family or friends. Kanye has been wanting to make it work, and Kim has tried for so long."

"Kanye and Kim have been trying to save their marriage but it's been difficult when he acts out," adds the source. "She is focused on raising her kids and making sure they're in a safe, stable environment. She has felt overwhelmed trying to take care of him too."

Hall Of Fame Dodgers Manager Tommy Lasorda Dies At 93!
Pugnacious Hall of Fame manager Tommy Lasorda, who "bled Dodger blue" and skippered Los Angeles to four league pennants and two world titles, died Thursday night, the team announced. He was 93.

Lasorda suffered a sudden cardiac arrest at his home and was transported to a hospital, where he died at 10:57 p.m. PST, the Dodgers said in a statement on Friday.
"Regarded by many as baseball's most popular ambassador, Lasorda spent 71 seasons in the Dodger organization with Dodger Blue running through his veins," according to team's statement.
Retired Dodgers play-by-play man Vin Scully said he'll always remember Lasorda for his "competitive spirit, his determination, and above all, his boundless energy and self-belief" that turned a career minor league pitcher to Hall of Fame manager.

"His heart was bigger than his talent and there were no foul lines for his enthusiasm," Scully said in a statement released by the team on Friday.
Lasorda was last seen in public on Oct. 27 at Game 6 of the World Series in Arlington, Texas, as he witnessed his beloved Dodgers beat the Tampa Bay Rays, capturing the organization's seventh world title.

It was Los Angeles' first World Series championship since 1988, when Lasorda was at the helm of the Brooklyn-rooted franchise.
"That's one of my proudest moments, that we got to fulfill one of his dreams," to see L.A. win one more world title, current Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told MLB Network.
"We cannot ever forget the love he had for baseball, in general, the Dodgers in particular. Win or lose, he bled Dodger blue and just continued to share that passion, that love. Let his legacy live on forever."

Dodgers relief pitcher Kenley Jansen paid tribute to Lasorda on Friday by tweeting video of the former skipper singing with a mariachi band.
"Tommy Lasorda, this wonderful man, Hall of Famer in baseball and in life, this is him, so much joy," Jansen wrote. "To win, to love this game, to live and play with joy was his message to us."
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti called Lasorda the "face of the franchise and the soul of this city."

"I loved watching him as a kid take our boys in blue to two World Series championships and spending time with him as an adult, sitting with him in his office or visiting with him behind home plate," Garcetti said in a statement Friday.

No Prison Time For White Man Who Drove Into Crowd Of Racial Injustice Iowa Protestors!
A white man who intentionally drove his car into a crowd of Iowa City “racial injustice’ protestors back in August, dodges prison time after a guilty plea.
Michael Ray Stepanek, 45, who struck many during his recklessness, told police the crowd needed “an attitude adjustment,” which is why he did what he did.
Stepanek’s lawyer claimed that his decisions were influenced by social media and “political rhetoric characterizing the protesters as dangerous criminals.”

Though Stepanek believed his actions were justified he has since realized his ignorance.
“Michael understands how his conduct could have resulted in a much more serious and harmful situation,” his lawyer said.
According to The Chicago Tribune, Stepanek is sentenced to a “felony charge of willful injury resulting in bodily injury.” If he does not commit a crime during his three-year-probation, his charges will be “dismissed and expunged.”

The Tribune also reported that Judge Paul Miller deferred a $1,025 civil fine.
The result of this trail leaves more room for criticism and “accusations of double standards” against the Johnson County Attorney’s Office as it continues on with charges against Black Lives Matter protesters from last summer.

The Tribune reports. “prosecutors are pursuing 15 counts, including nine felonies, against a protest leader charged with shining a laser beam light in police officers’ eyes in August.”

Lakers Hope To Visit White House Once President-Elect Joe Biden Takes Office!
The Los Angeles Lakers want to take a shot at visiting the White House when Joe Biden gets in office to celebrate their 2020 NBA Championship.
According to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes, “Members of the franchise—from players to management—see it as a pleasure and an honor to have their accomplishment recognized by the incoming president, but reconvening the tradition this season shall depend on logistics, sources said.”
It would seem fit that the team would be able to visit when they play the Washington Wizards, but that game is being held at the Los Angeles Staples Center, the Bleacher Report stated.

The tradition for professional sports champions to visit the White House fell off track when Donald Trump went into office.

When the Cleveland Cavaliers won the 2016 championship, players decided to move their visit up while President Barack Obama was in office and before Trump succeeded. The team was the last to visit the White House.
When the Golden State Warriors won, Stephen Curry publicly said he wouldn’t take part in the tradition. Trump shortly rescinded the invitation despite the fact players pretty much said they didn’t want to go. LeBron James called Trump a “bum” on Twitter for doing so.

With COVID-19 still surging, it’s uncertain when teams can visit the White House.

Jessica White Opens Up About Nick Cannon Breakup, Reveals She Found Out About Brittany Bell!

Supermodel Jessica “Jypsy” White has never been afraid to speak candidly about her romance with Nick Cannon, sharing intimate details about their relationship with her followers on social media.

In June 2020, she shared a series of black and white photos where she posed in the buff and professed her love for Cannon. In her caption, she wrote,  “Always been the love of my life always will be. REAL love can never be broken. You are me and I am you for eternity. @nickcannon you are a king always remember that sh*t.”
White is divulging even more about the former couple’s private life. It seems that even as White was posting about her love for Nick (and living with him), Cannon was expecting his second child with Brittney Bell.

White told “Hollywood Unlocked’s’” Jason Lee that the couple was together for almost six years. “We just had unconditional love for each other, and we were friends. You know, when you have a really close friendship with a person, you just know each other. And you kind of have an understanding of how things are gonna move and how you position yourselves,” she told Lee.
White also revealed that she found out about Bell’s pregnancy via social media. The former Victoria’s Secret model claimed that she had only recently had a miscarriage that Brittney knew about before discovering Brittney was pregnant after seeing her announcement on Instagram.

“[Brittany] was aware that I had just had a miscarriage. Two weeks prior to her news ’cause I had told her and I was living at his house. She knew that, as well. But I found out on Instagram along with the rest of the world.”

White also opened up about the backlash she received about sharing her miscarriage and relationship woes online.
“So, when I came out, people thought like, oh, I was this homewrecker. No. There was a real-life going on. I was bullied for months with that whole situation because I was still trying to be nice about it, like, we didn’t break up right away. We were actually still trying to work things out,” the model said.
White claims she spoke to Cannon weeks ago, and he vowed to set the record straight about their relationship and defend her name, but to date, Nick hasn’t addressed it.

While White admitted the entire experience has been “incredibly painful,” she still believes that Cannon will be a man of his word and “right his wrongs.”

Donald Trump’s Twitter Account Permanently Suspended Following Capitol Riot!
Twitter permanently banned Donald Trump on Friday, making the decision two days after a violent mob of supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol as both chambers of Congress met to certify President-elect Joe Biden's Electoral College victory. "Thank you Twitter" started trending soon after the news broke, as many felt the platform finally did what should have happened months ago. Trump was initially suspended for 12 hours after his tweets during the event. He was briefly able to return and post tweets Friday morning, including his video message on Thursday night. But in one tweet Friday, Trump said the people who voted for him "will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!" Twitter weighed in soon after.

"After close review of recent Tweets from the ["realDonaldTrump"] account and the context around them — specifically how they are being received and interpreted on and off Twitter — we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence," Twitter's statement reads. Twitter noted that it has a "public interest framework" in place so its users can "hear from elected officials and world leaders directly."
However, Trump pushed the limits of that framework. "We made it clear going back years that these accounts are not above our rules entirely and cannot use Twitter to incite violence, among other things," the company noted. "We will continue to be transparent around our policies and their enforcement."

On Friday, Trump published two tweets, the first of which was seen by many as another message inciting his base. "The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form," he wrote. Next, he said he would not attend Biden's inauguration on Jan. 20.
Twitter broke down both of these tweets to justify suspending the president's account. First, they pointed out that some have seen Trump's decision not to attend Biden's inauguration as confirmation that he still does not see the election results as legitimate, despite releasing a video on Thursday saying there would be a peaceful transition. Twitter noted that Trump's decision to call his supporters "American patriots," even though they interrupted the democratic process Wednesday, should be seen as more support for their actions. The company also noted there have been plans circulating on an off-Twitter for another proposed attack on the Capitol and state capitols on Jan. 17.

Twitter's decision came a day after Facebook suspended Trump's pages there indefinitely. "We believe the risks of allowing the President to continue to use our service during this period are simply too great," Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg wrote Thursday. "Therefore, we are extending the block we have placed on his Facebook and Instagram accounts indefinitely and for at least the next two weeks until the peaceful transition of power is complete."

According to Makena Kelly at The Verge, Twitter has said that any attempt by President Trump to circumvent the ban with the "POTUS" account would see those posts deleted. The same would go for Trump attempting to create a second account, leading to a second permanent ban for the president "at first detection."
Twitter tested this when President Trump attempted to post a message to the POTUS account an hour after the initial ban. "As I have been saying for a long time, Twitter has gone further and further in banning free speech," the president's post thread begins. The president continued, pushing the idea of creating his own platform before telling followers to "stay tuned." Twitter removed the thread within 10 minutes.

The president and his administration continued to try to send out posts and messages through several related accounts. This includes the Team Trump twitter account and those related to his advisers after they offered their accounts up for the president's messages.
