John Boyega for Hypebeast - Winter 2019!
In a candid new interview with Hypebeast, John Boyega said that he didn’t care for the arc his character, Finn, experienced in “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” particularly how he was separated from the other main characters in the new “Star Wars” trilogy.
“‘The Force Awakens’ I think was the beginning of something quite solid,” the actor said. “‘The Last Jedi’ if I’m being honest I’d say that was feeling a bit iffy for me. I didn’t necessarily agree with a lot of the choices in that and that’s something that I spoke to Mark [Hamill] a lot about, and we had conversations about it. And it was hard for all of us, because we were separated.”
In Boyega’s opinion, when compared to the original “Star Wars” trilogy, the dynamic between Finn, Poe, and Rey wasn’t as strong as Luke, Han, and Leia. “I guess in the original ‘Star Wars’ films there was much more of a trio feel where it was essentially about Luke’s journey, but, Han and Leia, there was a strong dynamic,” said Boyega.
Interestingly, Boyega also appeared to indicate that, at least as of the Hypebeast interview, there’s still a lot he doesn’t know about the upcoming “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” which hits theaters in less than two weeks.
“Which I think, I don’t know how quickly we’re going to be able to establish that long-term dynamic with [Episode] IX, but if it’s exploring that dynamic, then that would be cool,” added Boyega. “I do feel even after three films still, we don’t know them as much as we got to know Han, Luke, Leia. And maybe that’s a great opportunity to get to know them a little bit more.”

#RHOA: Kandi Burruss Wants to Clarify Her Financial Situation with Husband Todd Tucker!
Kandi Burruss and husband Todd Tucker experienced a tense moment in the December 22 episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta as he showed his wife the future location of OLé G, a new Mexican restaurant in their culinary empire. Kandi said that she was concerned that Todd was overextending himself starting multiple businesses without officially launching any of them.
"Todd has felt the pressure of him needing to make more money ever since we got together. Like, people have always questioned him being with me and whether he was with me for money and all this," Kandi said during an interview in the episode. "So he's always been in this position of him trying to prove to the world that he doesn't need my money."
But Kandi wanted to make it clear that Todd isn't investing money into these projects that he didn't earn. "We make a lot of money together through our businesses together. [And] we reinvest our profits into new businesses," Kandi tweeted to one fan on December 22. "So whatever is spent is what he helped make."
Kandi elaborated in another tweet: "FYI. Todd is not spending my personal money. That is still safe [in] my savings portfolio. He [and] I have made a lot of money together which is what we use to invest in new business ideas. He helped make it so he can help decide how it’s spent. Thanks for your concern but we’re good!"
The RHOA mogul also agreed with another fan on Twitter that "Todd will get the job done!" "I know he will," Kandi replied to the fan. "He always does."
In fact, Kandi has long been supportive of Todd's dreams. She recently opened up in a series called Black Love about how she encouraged Todd to go after new endeavors when he considered quitting his job.
"I'm a person that, if I love you and I'm with you all the way, in my mind, there's nothing that we cannot do together. So I'm always gonna figure out a plan, like, we can get that! Even though he was definitely making good money, but in my mind, I'm like, we'll figure out how to make that. You'll be fine, don't worry about it. Jump off this cliff, I'm telling you. I got you, let's do this! And we did an event the first month after he quit his job," Kandi shared. "I was just trying to show him, if we put our minds together, there's no limit to what we can do. Like, just take the risk, let's do this!"

#HipHopNews: Rich Homie Quan Is Willing To Work With Young Thug On New Music!
Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug were once BFFs, frequently collaborating on well-received tracks and linking up with Birdman to form Rich Gang. Then, in 2015, the two Atlanta rappers had a falling out. Nothing was the same. Now, four years removed from their beef, Rich Homie is ready to let bygones be bygones and possibly get back in the studio with Thugger.
RHQ recently sat down for an interview with Hot 107.9's Durtty Boyz, which was published on Saturday (Dec. 21). One of the most interesting topics was Rich's current status with Thug and if they will ever reunite.
"I would say anything's possible. It's open," Rich said. "I wouldn't be against it. As long as it made sense, you feel me? It's always been what the people has made it to be. 'Til this day me and bruh ain't never had no conversation about that. So, even if the conversation did happen, I don't know what kind of turn it would take. I'm all ears, put it like that."
"It be egos, man," Rich Homie added making sense of the situation. "I ain't gon' lie, the people will create something that it's not, or make it bigger than what it is. By that time, you done made so much, I done made some much, egos up so high, we ain't even on that no more. But, like I told y'all, I'm all ears for the conversation."
Things were all good with the rappers until they started trading shots in 2015 after Quan stated he wanted to step away from Rich Gang and focus on his solo career. In May 2017, Quan revealed that he and Thug were no longer on speaking terms. Last March, Thugger turned down a $1 million offer from Gucci Mane to get the YSL rapper and Rich Homie back in the studio

Adele posted two photos on Instagram from her Christmas party, and fans can't get over how amazing she looks.
The singer, who doesn't share much on the social network (her last post before that is from October 24), posted two black and white snaps of herself — one with the Grinch and one with Father Christmas.
"We both tried to ruin Christmas but then both our hearts grew!" she wrote. "Thank you for coming to my party and making us feel like kids Grinch. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone x."

In October, many of her fans noticed her smaller physique for the first time after she posted photos from Drake's birthday party.
Adele has always maintained she would never be pressured into losing weight by anyone else, telling People (reported by Marie Claire) in 2012: "Even when I was signing a contract, most of the industry knew if anyone ever dared say: 'Lose weight' to me, they wouldn't be working with me."
However Adele has famously faced scrutiny for her size before — her comments above were in response to the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld calling her "a little too fat."
Cardi B Spends Thousands On Toys For Children In Need!
You might as well call Cardi B Santa C (C for Claus) because she's bringing lots of Christmas cheer to a ton of children this year.
According to TMZ, Cardi was spotted in Miami on Friday (December 20) spending a bunch of money on gifts for kids at a local Target store. The "Press" rapper reportedly spent about $5,000 on games, dolls, car sets and a ton of other gifts. Cardi ended up getting so many toys, she reportedly rented a U-HAUL to load the presents up and transport them to those in need.
As fans know, Christmas for Cardi B this year is already better than her last.
Last year, the "Writing On The Wall" rapper was dealing with her strained relationship with her husband Offset following his now-infamous cheating scandal. While the couple reportedly spent the holidays together along with their daughter Kulture, it was no doubt an awkward celebration given the state of the relationship.
Leading up to Christmas day, Offset made it known that he wanted to spend the holidays with his family in one of his many public apologies. "Kulture, I want to spend Christmas with you," he said via Instagram before issuing a lengthy apology to Cardi. "I want to be able to spend the rest of my life with you. I apologize. Queen Elizabeth Faces Backlash After Fans Think She Insulted Prince Harry & Meghan Markle, But...Did She?
Queen Elizabeth has been accused of throwing shade during her annual Christmas address.
During her yearly speech, the Queen was surrounded by some family photos including a picture of Prince William and Kate Middleton with their kids, Prince Louis, Princess Charlotte, and Prince George, a photo of her husband Prince Philip, a photo of her son Prince Charles and his wife Duchess Camilla, and a photo of her father.
Fans noticed that the Queen did not have a photo of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan with their child baby Archie.
Some Instagram users quickly began questioning the queen on the Royal Family’s Instagram account, writing comments like, “Where are harry meghan and archie your majesty?????” and “Wow dramaaaa no Harry and Meghan 😹”
Turns out, the Queen only displayed photos that featured direct heirs to the throne.
“Her daughter and two other sons are also missing. It looks like it’s just those in direct line to the throne. Calm down,” one fan pointed out, while another wrote, “For gods sake, she has the direct succession to the throne displayed in photos… it’s nothing to do with Harry or Meghan.”
Aaliyah Was Allegedly Pregnant By R.Kelly + New Book Claims He Paid $500 For Her Fake ID!
As R. Kelly pleads not guilty to claims that he bribed a government worker so he could get an underaged Aaliyah a fake ID for their alleged marriage license, a new book gives even more details of the alleged incident.
It was previously reported that R. Kelly has officially been charged for allegedly giving a government worker in Illinois cash in exchange for a fake ID for Aaliyah, who was 15-years-old at the time. R. Kelly was 27. Their alleged marriage was later annulled as the age requirement for marriage in Illinois is 18-years-old, or 16 with a parent’s permission. R. Kelly has denied the charges and is currently in jail facing other charges like child pornography. His trial is set to start next year.
Meanwhile, author and journalist Bryn Curt James Hammond penned a book called “A Case for Murder: Aaliyah Files”.
The book claims that R. Kelly was preparing the required three forms of ID for Aaliyah for their marriage license when he allegedly instructed his ex-assistant Demetrius Smith to contact a friend who was employed at the Public Aid office in Chicago. The person was also the one who took pictures for photo IDs for individuals who were granted welfare.
The Illinois employee allegedly said she would expedite Aaliyah’s fake picture for $500 in exchange. R. Kelly is also accused of reaching out to a friend who was employed with FedEx and allegedly told that worker to lie say Aaliyah was his colleague. The employee allegedly agreed, under the condition that his identity would remain anonymous.
R. Kelly also allegedly reached out to a close friend whose dad was a pastor in the area. He asked the preacher to officiate the union.
Hammond wrote in the book: “With all three forms of ID complete, with the inclusion of Aaliyah’s school ID card, the couple, as required, appeared before the Cook County Clerk at City Hall to present their identification.
They didn’t have to wait long before obtaining their marriage license, and while they played the waiting game, Kelly made a final call to an associate whose father was an inner-city preacher.
After a monumentally convoluted catch-up, and a ‘how’s the family?”, Kelly cut to the chase, asking if the associate’s father could perform his and Aaliyah’s marriage ceremony.
The marriage was finalized before the sun had time to set.”
According to a document that’s said to be the marriage license, Aaliyah’s age was listed as 18, and R. Kelly’s was 27. They allegedly married on Aug. 31, 1994 in Illinois’s Cook County. They allegedly applied for the marriage license the day before.
Her parents allegedly had the marriage annulled in 1995.
Other reports from people like R. Kelly’s ex-girlfriend Lisa Van Allen said he married Aaliyah because she was pregnant, then had the annulment after she allegedly terminated the pregnancy.
Hammond said he spoke with R. Kelly’s close friends who alleged Aaliyah made the first move in her reported romance with R. Kelly
“described Aaliyah as a sheltered, naive child, who experienced independence for the first time while working on ‘Age Ain’t Nothing But A Number’, finding maturity overnight and seducing Kelly during their first recording session.”
Lisa Van Allen alleged that they married so that Aaliyah wouldn’t be able to testify against him if it came out that she was pregnant by a 27-year-old R. Kelly when she was 15.
Hammond wrote that R. Kelly called his lawyer friends to
“find out the best way to avoid any jail time, which resulted in the hare-brained scheme that Kelly’s only option was to marry Aaliyah.”
R. Kelly’s business manager, Derrel McDavid, allegedly made the suggestion for the union.
That’s when Aaliyah was allegedly flown from her hometown of Detroit (where she lived with her parents) to Chicago. She was allegedly taken to a hotel room in Chicago. Hammond wrote,
“She greeted Kelly and his entourage at the hotel door with haste on their arrival. She was pale and nervous, but still obeyed Kelly’s rule that required her to wear baggy clothing when she was not with him, unless otherwise instructed.
As the clique entered the room, Aaliyah made sure not to prolong her glance at the other males accompanying Kelly. Instead she remained with her head down, coyly glancing only in Kelly’s direction when spoken to.”
The next morning they went to see Derrel McDavid, who allegedly pointed out Aaliyah’s alleged pregnancy and age and said, according to Hammond,
“that Kelly had committed a felony offense knowingly and to avoid repercussions they would need Aaliyah to take the rap for the entire sticky situation.”
Hammond added in the book,
“As the meeting reached its final minutes, McDavid specified what ID was required to move forward. While Cook County wasn’t known for being very strict with legal requirements, there were some eligibility laws, required legal identification and additional considerations due to Aaliyah coming from Detroit, but the biggest hurdle was showing that Aaliyah was convincingly 18.”
That’s when Smith allegedly approached the Public Aid worker for alleged the $500 bribe.
Hammond added, “Pulling her hoodie over her head, Aaliyah ducked into the building via the back entrance, where she was greeted by a welcoming smile. ”It will be okay,” the public servant muttered under her breath.”
Sadly, Aaliyah later died in a plane crash in 2001. She was 22-years-old.

Universal Hip Hop Museum Given Monetary Award Of Over $3.5 Million By The State Of New York !
According to CNN, Governor Andrew Cuomo has signed off on a whopping $3.75 million grant that will be used for the construction of the Universal Hip-Hop Museum in the Bronx.
The funds are connected to the state’s package of economic and community development funding.
Construction on the site is set to take place this summer.
Currently, The Universal Hip Hop Museum is temporarily set up as a pop-up shop located at the Bronx Terminal Market. But the official location is an empty parking lot in the 50,000-square-foot Bronx Point, which is a newly developed landmark.
Bronx executive director of the Universal Hip Hop Museum, Rocky Bucano spoke on the upcoming project with CNN stating, “We knew it was important because the Bronx is where hip-hop started. It’s crazy to think of how hip-hop – which has such an influence on pop culture, advertising, politics – doesn’t have a place to call home.”
The museum’s mission statement reveals to its future customers that it “celebrates and preserves the history of local and global hip-hop music and culture to inspire, empower, and promote understanding.”
Chuck D of the legendary hip-hop group Public Enemy will serve as the Chairman of the Celebrity Board for the Universal Hip-Hop Museum, Kurtis Blow will serve as Chairman of the Board and Big Daddy Kane, Fab Five Freddy, Grandmaster Flash, LL Cool J, and Rakim will serve as cultural ambassadors.
“We want to empower, inspire, and engage the community,” he said. “Hip-Hop has touched every aspect of modern society and it’s important for the community to know that it was created by people who looked just like them,” Bucano added.
As of right now, the museum is scheduled to open in 2023.
The museum’s official twitter announced to its followers that while tickets are free, donations are welcomed.

Kenya Barris Responds to Criticism Over the Lack of Dark Skinned Stars in his New Show “Black Excellence”!
Kenya Barris, who is the creator of the popular ABC sitcom ‘Black-ish,’ is finally responding to the backlash he received in response to the announcement of his new NetFlix series, “Black Excellence.”
When Barris recently announced his latest project along with the promo photo of the family cast, there was immediate criticism over the lack of dark-skinned actors, especially with the title of the show alluding to it being inclusive of all blacks. The show stars Quincy Jones’ daughter, Rashida Jones, and a slew of lighter complexioned children.
Barris has previously been criticized for casting mostly light-skinned and mixed-raced women and children in “‘Black-ish” and its spin-offs, “Grown-ish” and “Mixed-ish.”
However, in response, he addressed the fans on Twitter, standing by his casting of lighter-skinned actors for the project and highlighting the fact that the cast mimics the many shades of his own Black family.
“Guys, this is supposed to be real. What do u think Rashida & I’s kids would look like? Have you seen MY actual very real and definitely BLACK family? Don’t we have enough hate from others?”
Lizzo responds to social commentator Dr Boyce Watkins who said she owes fame to 'obesity epidemic in America'!
Lizzo is still riding high after her Saturday Night Live debut and she isn't going to let anyone bring her down. The "Good as Hell" singer clapped back at Dr. Boyce Watkins after his tweet about her popularity sparked an online debate. Watkins, an author, political analyst and social commentator, tweeted that the eight-time Grammy-nominated singer is only popular because of America's "obesity epidemic."
"Rather than encouraging people to do better, we are simply lying to them and telling them that they are just fine the way they are," he wrote Friday.

Ed Sheeran Recalls His 50-Pound Weight Loss Journey!
Ed Sheeran famously sings about the shape of you, but it's the shape of him that he's talking about now.
In a newly posted episode of the Behind the Medal podcast, the Grammy-winning musician reflected on the changes he made to his diet and fitness that led to losing around 50 pounds.
As the star summarized of his fitness, he started music, then started smoking and then "it all kind of went out the window." Then, Sheeran stopped smoking nearly three years ago and started exercising. Noting he now "loves it," he shared his regimen consists of a 45-minute run in the morning followed by a swim or sit-ups, as compared with the 10-minute runs he used to do.
However, as he acknowledged, that wasn't always the case for the globe-trotting star. Sheeran recalled "ballooning" during his 2014-2015 X Tour followed by the Divide Tour in 2017.
He recalled being "15 to 16 stone," upwards of 224 pounds, at the time of the X Tour and beginning of Divide Tour, as compared to being "12 stone" now, or 168 pounds.
As the star recalled, his days on the X Tour consisted of partying all night, not exercising and sleeping in until the late afternoon, which not only took a toll on his weight, but also left him without much to say about the places he had traveled to. While in America, he described being in the back of the tour bus with a tray of chicken wings and bottles of wine after a gig.
"It's always America that gets me—America in buses," he quipped.
During his self-proclaimed "fat stage," Sheeran also said he would put chips on top of pizza and eat it like a sandwich and noted he won two eating competitions in the United States.
Then, once he stopped smoking, he was aware "my lungs were so full of s$&t that I needed to clear them out," so he began running outside while on the road, which also allowed him to take in the sights. The star also noted the shows are bigger, which makes for more set-up time, resulting in more time for him to have a routine.
While he noted that it was his desire to clear out his lungs that got him exercising, Sheeran remembered the "online trolls," newspapers and comments that would point out his size when he was heavier and said there is definitely a lot of "external pressure" to look like other male stars.
"You kind of get it in your head that you need to look like everyone else," he said, recalling the first years of his career around the time of Justin Bieber and One Direction. "Should I be looking like this?" the star thought.
On the topic of his self-image, Sheeran said, "I never once had any insecurities really about myself until people pointed them out."
Nowadays, with help from his wife Cherry Seaborn, moderation is the singer's motto. "You can't be outwardly unhealthy, but also you have to find a balance."
