Real Housewives Of Atlanta star Eva Marcille has always been vocal about her journey with parenthood while applauding her husband Michael Sterling for stepping up to the plate with her 5-year-old daughter Marley Rae. She’s also been transparent about her distant relationship with Marley’s father, singer Kevin McCall. For these reasons, Marcille decided to take a huge step by changing her daughter’s last name from McCall to Sterling.
During a segment on the Rickey Smiley Morning Show, Marcille explained her decision to change her daughter’s last name. “Marley was born in 2014 and I gave her her biological father’s name,” she says. “After two months, we became estranged and I raised her as a single mom. And then, the good Lord saw fit for me to meet an amazing man, Michael Sterling, who has become my husband and the father of my later children. Long story short, we all have the name Sterling, and Marley is the only one with her biological father’s name and I saw it necessary and Mike saw it necessary to change her name,”
She continues: “We’ve been going through the process—I must say, it is not an easy process and it is not for the faint of heart—but we’ve been working through it and [as of] yesterday I can say thanks to the honorable Judge Manning here in Fulton County court granted me a name change for Marley. She is now officially and legally Marley Rae Sterling.”
Marcille has previously gone on record about her strained relationship with Kevin McCall, whom she has accused of being verbally and physically abusive towards her while they were dating. In a previous Ricky Smiley show, Eva reveals how scary things got before she decided to leave. “It didn’t start for me until I was pregnant with Marley,” she claims. “I was pregnant with my child, so. Then, about a month after having Marley, it didn’t stop…The final straw was when Marley was actually in my arms once and I was like, ‘I can’t do this no more.’”
Marcille has revealed during the filming of RHOA that she currently has a restraining order against McCall, and has had to move in fear of her family’s safety. McCall has denied the allegations.

Empire may be launching its sixth and final season this fall, but Fox’s CEO says the hip-hop saga may not truly be over. “We’re in the Lee Daniels and Danny Strong business — if there is more story to tell we want to hear it,” Charlie Collier told TCA this morning on the possibility of spinoffs from the Empire duo.
Promising a big send-off for the soapy drama series led by Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard in its supersized last season, Collier praised the once ratings boss and “what it has done to impact the pop culture conversation.”
Regardless of whether there is more Empire or a spinoff, Collier made it clear that Jussie Smollett will not be a part of the final season or a potential future. “Lee’s right, there’s no plan for Jussie to return,“ the Fox Entertainment chief told the assembled media Wednesday, reiterating Daniels’ June 4 insistence that Smollett, who played Jamal Lyon on the show for almost five seasons, is permanently gone amid his legal troubles earlier this year.
Still, Smollett’s honeymooning character (got to love those soap staples) will appear in family photos and be mentioned in at least the early episodes of the final Empire season, Collier noted, with implication that his absence will be written into the plot of the show.

His team announced on Tuesday (August 20) on Instagram that Puma will help preserve his movement in style by releasing the late rap mogul’s signature sneaker collection to the public on September 5.
“Nipsey spearheaded this project from concept to final product over the course of last year, flying to meetings, reviewing samples, bringing in material references he liked, and most importantly ensuring that it reflected his style authentically with no compromise,” Nip’s team said in the caption. “Each detail from logo placement, fit, colorways, and materials was thoughtfully done. His signature style and DNA can be found in each garment that’s part of this collection from the khaki suit to the tracksuit.”

The iconic 85-year-old television and radio host has filed for divorce from his seventh wife, Shawn King, after 22 years of marriage.
Larry filed the divorce petition on Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, but this isn’t the couple’s first rodeo.
Back in 2010, both Larry and Shawn were trying to beat each other to the punch. Then, they reconciled.
Then, in 2016, cheating rumors began circling the marriage like a vulture. Larry King believed his wife was stepping out on him.
When Larry had that heart attack in April, Shawn King allegedly presented him with legal documents that would give her rights to certain properties. His sons tipped him off and told him to cash out on the marriage.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 28 ABC Has the Cast Revealed!💃💃💃
Bringing in the star power! After multiple teasers on social media, ABC finally announced the cast of Dancing With the Stars season 28 during Good Morning America on Wednesday, August 21.
First, here are the pro dancers who will be returning to guide the celebrities this season: Alan Bersten, Brandon Armstrong, Cheryl Burke, Emma Slater, Gleb Savchenko, Jenna Johnson, Keo Motsepe, Lindsay Arnold, Peta Murgatroyd, Sasha Farber, Val Chmerkovskiy and Witney Carson.
Additionally, pro dancers Pasha Pashkov and Daniella Karagach will join the pros. While new to the reality series, the husband and wife have been dancing together since 2009 and are seven-time United States 10 Dance Champions and Latin Champions. In 2018, the duo appeared on World of Dance.
As for the celebs this season, ABC wanted to bring even more star power after a season off — and they wanted to add a “tweak” in the format. “It’s about [shifting] the focus of the show to really focus on it being a celebration of dance, and also focusing on the celebrities,” ABC entertainment president Karey Burke told TVLine earlier this month.

Actress/mother-of-two Racquel Bailey paid to put up a few billboards around Atlanta that look like this:
The billboard reads: "Attention Mr. Perry. Racquel Bailey is your next leading lady," along with her headshot, her website, Instagram and Twitter handle.
In the caption, she opened up about stepping out on faith to nab her dream job.
"My #LeapOfFaith. I'm just a mother wanting to show my children that I went for it all, that I chased my dreams," she captioned. "So one day, they'll be able to do the same. #BillBoard #Atlanta #FaithJumper #WomanOnAMission #Wendy10"
Years later, the New Jersey actress still hadn't heard from Tyler. However, she did end up appearing in three episodes of the HBO miniseries "The Night Of."
This time, the billboards worked - but not how she expected. Tyler caught wind of her personal ads, but he kind of condemned her for it.

#LGBTQNEWS: Pulse shooting survivors organize ex-gay 'Freedom March' in Orlando!🌈😑
Angel Colon and Luis Javier Ruiz survived the 2016 mass shooting at the gay nightclub Pulse in Orlando, Florida, where 49 patrons died. Now the two men, who no longer identify as gay, are organizing a “Freedom March” that encourages attendees to embrace Jesus and overcome their homosexuality and transgender identity.
The rally is scheduled for Sept. 14 at Orlando’s Lake Eloa Park, just a five-minute drive from where the shell of the former nightclub still stands.
Colon, 29, and Ruiz, 36, were among the 53 people injured after what was at the time the deadliest mass shooting in the United States. Colon, a dancer, was shot six times and was unable to walk for two months. Ruiz, an Army veteran, was trampled upon while trying to exit the club and sustained multiple injuries.
Nearly two years ago, the pair founded Fearless Identity Inc., an organization that seeks to “bring hope” and “biblical understanding to those seeking to change,” Ruiz told NBC News.
Colon, who posed on the cover of LGBTQ magazine The Advocate for its 2016 People of the Year issue, said the mission of Fearless Identity has been misunderstood. While neither he nor Ruiz still identify as gay, he said the organization’s goal is not to change people’s sexual orientation and gender identity against their will.
“We’re trying to equip churches, even if they’re not gay-affirming churches, with the resources they need and teach them not to judge the LGBTQ community,” Colon explained. “We’re trying to share our stories through ministry and share the testimonies of people who’ve come out of the homosexual lifestyle.”
Despite the men’s insistence otherwise, not everyone views the Freedom March as an opportunity to unite the church and LGBTQ people, with some from Orlando’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community expressing outrage that a city still in mourning would be the site of such an event.
Christopher Cuevas, the executive director of QLatinx, an Orlando-based Latino LGBTQ advocacy group, called the march an “attempt to wash the community in a thicket of hate and bigotry.”
"While we honor the freedom for expressions of faith, and hold the beauty of religiosity in our community, we cannot condone the gross misuse of religious text and faith to exploit LGBTQ+ people or support conversion therapy,” Cuevas wrote in an email. “The expressions of our queer and transgender identities are the embodiment of divinity and grace, because we are living our most radical truth by celebrating and centering our LGBTQ+ identity.”
Both Ruiz and Colon grew up in religious communities and dealt with the church’s suggestion to “pray the gay away.” Ruiz, however, stressed that neither he nor Colon support so-called conversion therapy, a contentious practice of trying to change a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity that has been condemned by nearly every major health association.
“We are not all all advocates for conversion therapy or shock therapy,” Ruiz said. “We stand with the gay community, and our main message is about falling in love with Jesus, but if an LGBTQ person wanted to talk to a pastor or counselor, that’s a whole different story.”
Colon and Ruiz said the Pulse massacre inspired them to turn back to religion and denounce their former sexual identities. Now, the two men identify as “children of God” versus straight or gay.
“My life was all over the place, and I never blamed it on being gay. I was a drug addict, an alcoholic,” Colon said. “I missed worshiping God, so when Pulse happened, I took the situation as a big turning point in my life.”
Next month’s event will be the second Freedom March the two men have organized. Their inaugural march was held last May in Washington. While the event “seeks to bring hope of deliverance to the LGBTQ community and point them toward Christ,” per its mission statement, Colon and Ruiz said they believe in accepting people as they are.
“People have the option to change, to choose their own path and their own journey,” Ruiz said. “If there’s a drag queen doing a storytelling hour at a school, we’re not going to say, ‘Kick the drag queen out.’ We’re going to say, ‘Let’s also read the Bible to these kids.’”
“We come in love,” Ruiz added. “I’m so thankful that I get to live and that I’m breathing now.”

After Sony and Disney publicly announced they parted ways, fans attempted to keep Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by expressing their opinions on Twitter.
On Monday, news broke that Sony, which owns the rights to Spider-Man, and Disney, who was producing the films, were unable to reach an agreement. As a result, Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, would not continue as the lead producer of the next live-action Spider-Man film.
Sony said in a statement that they hoped the decision would change in the future, but understood Disney's decision not to allow Feige to work on projects Disney did not own.
"Kevin is terrific and we are grateful for his help and guidance and appreciate the path he has helped put us on, which we will continue," Sony said.
In 2016, the Sony-Marvel version of Spider-Man, played by actor Tom Holland, first appeared in Captain America: Civil War. He then played Spider-Man again in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home. The last film he played Spider-Man was the first Spider-Man film to gross more than $1.1 billion worldwide.
While Spider-Man will still appear in films, fans were disappointed, and at times outraged, that he would no longer be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The news garnered so much attention that #SaveSpiderMan and #SaveSpidey were trending on Twitter.
Avengers: Endgame star Jeremy Renner, who portrays the part of Hawkeye, posted a message to Sony on Instagram, writing, "we want Spider-Man back." He added that it should be returned to late comic book writer Stan Lee and Marvel.
One fan pointed out that after everything Spider-Man went through, it was unfair to take him out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Aretha Franklin Estate Backs Fund to Research Rare Form of Cancer That Took Singer’s Life!💓
Aretha Franklin passed away from a rare form of cancer, and now her estate has backed newly funded research to learn more about the disease, as well as its causes.
Friday, August 16, marked one year since the legendary singer passed away from having a neuroendocrine tumor (NET) on her pancreas, which, according to the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation (NETRF), is not pancreatic cancer as the term is usually understood. Neuroendocrine tumors affect 171,000 people in the U.S. and just 7 percent of those with pancreatic cancer, according to the foundation.
NETRF, based in Boston, also launched The Aretha Franklin Fund for Neuroendocrine Cancer Research, and a fundraising benefit was held on Friday.
The Detroit’s Women’s Informal Network is also a part of the new research, and it donated $1,500 toward a goal of $300,000 that’s been set for 2020. Those funds will then be used for two years of initial research.
Franklin was reportedly diagnosed with the disease in 2010, although she was known for keeping her health concerns secret from the public. But in a handwritten will that was located earlier this year, there was a reference to a “mass on the pancreas.”
“The Aretha Franklin Family is honored to partner with the NETRF to help raise funding for education and research of this devastating disease that takes our loved ones much too soon,” said Aretha Franklin’s niece Sabrina Owens, who oversees the estate.
“We encourage her friends, fans, and supporters to consider contributing to this cause, until such time as we can eradicate NETs. We believe this is possible.”
“A lot of the work we fund is basic science in the laboratory, learning why these tumors grow and spread,” NETRF’s Chief Executive Officer Elyse Gellerman told the Detroit Free Press.
“We don’t know all the answers about that. Researchers are trying to understand these tumors at a cellular level and — with some of the treatments available — why some patients respond and others do not,” she added.
NETRF also said they’ve been pursuing a number of corporate sponsors in the music industry and wished the singer’s condition was properly reported from the beginning.
“I know the neuroendocrine tumors community was frustrated when the cause of Aretha Franklin’s death wasn’t correctly reported,” Gellerman stated.

The Trump Administration Announces Plan To Detain Migrant Children For Much Longer that Usual!😒
The new guidelines would rip up a long-standing set of protections known as the Flores settlement.

The Trump administration on Wednesday announced new rules that would allow immigration officials to detain migrant children for a longer period of time, ripping up a long-standing set of protections that prevent migrant children from being detained for more than 20 days.
The Flores settlement, established in 1997 after a 1985 class-action lawsuit involving several migrant children, limits the amount of time the government is allowed to detain an immigrant child to 20 days or less. The agreement also establishes minimum guidelines for safe and sanitary conditions in detention facilities, requiring the government to provide children with basic needs like food, water and medical care.
The rule change would allow families to be detained indefinitely by Immigration and Customs Enforcement after being transferred from border custody. Barring any potential court order, the change would go into effect 60 days from Friday.
Doctors, psychologists and child welfare experts have said that even relatively brief time in detention is damaging to children’s mental and physical health.
The administration claims that its inability to indefinitely detain kids is one of the drivers of unauthorized migration to the U.S. Since the beginning of the fiscal year in October, Border Patrol says it has apprehended more than 430,000 family units ― parents and kids traveling together ― at the southwest border.
“The driving factor in this crisis is weakness in our legal framework for immigration,” Kevin McAleenan, the acting secretary of homeland security, said Wednesday at a press conference.
McAleenan called the Flores settlement a “key gap in our immigration framework,” arguing that the rule change closes a “legal loophole” effectively “incentivizing illegal entry.”
The rule change, first proposed last year, continues the Trump administration’s expanded practices of separating families and detaining immigrants in teeming border facilities with inhumane conditions. Recently, a number of undocumented immigrants have died while in the custody of immigration officials, including children.

The proposed rule will almost certainly face pushback from immigrant and human rights groups, including a likely legal challenge.
“This is yet another cruel attack on children, who the Trump administration has targeted again and again with its anti-immigrant policies,” Madhuri Grewal, American Civil Liberties Union policy counsel, said in a statement. “The government should not be jailing kids, and certainly shouldn’t be seeking to put more kids in jail for longer. Congress must not fund this.”
The Trump administration has floated indefinite detention of kids as an alternative to the much-criticized policy of family separation the president carried out last year. Last year, officials suggested that locking up kids with their parents would keep families together.
The Obama administration dramatically expanded the use of family immigrant detention after parents and children began coming to the U.S. without authorization in large numbers in and after 2014. The administration had previously reduced family detention, but opened new centers in order to deal with the influx, to the dismay of immigrant rights activists and some Democratic politicians.
Now, the Trump administration wants to expand family detention even further, another step in a large-scale effort to keep migrants ― even asylum-seekers ― from coming to the U.S. The administration has also implemented policies to make asylum-seekers remain in Mexico while awaiting court proceedings and to bar asylum for people who pass through another country without seeking safety there (the latter was partially blocked, but allowed to go into effect in Texas and New Mexico).
In addition to cracking down on undocumented immigrants, the administration has also targeted legal immigrants. Earlier this month, it announced new guidelines that would effectively prohibit immigrants on government assistance, such as food stamps and housing vouchers, from applying for visas or permanent residency.
