The Daily Buzz For July 18 ☕πŸ“°☕

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott Share their love for one another in GQ
Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott welcomed GQ into their private world for the magazine's August cover story, opening up about their one of a kind courtship and posing together for the first time.

While they've hit a couple red carpets and events together, the shoot is their first one for a magazine together, with Kylie rocking a sexy bodysuit on the cover while her man sports a pinstriped suit.
In the accompanying interview, we learn the two met at Coachella, which was one of the stops on the rapper's tour in 2017. They immediately hit it off. "So he said, 'I'm going back on tour — what do we want to do about this?' Because we obviously liked each other," Kylie explained.

The solution: she joined him on the road. "I really jumped on the bus. And then we rode off into the sunset. I did the whole tour with him," she said.

"We had a lot of downtime. It was organic. And we would just go to these random cities. We got to not be who we really were," Scott said of the experience. "Like, if we were in L.A., I feel like it would've been way different. Everything happened for a reason. We weren't going out as 'Kylie and Trav.' We would just be in Cleveland, walking the street for hours. We would go on walks, and no one would bother us."
A lot of scrutiny comes with dating (and especially having a child with) one of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, something Scott Disick dubbed the "Kardashian Kurse." Trav, however, doesn't seem too concerned about being its latest victim.

"I don't even be looking at motherf--kers. I don't be looking at s--t. Kylie actually likes me for me. Man, hell nah. Nervous for what? I'm on my own island," he told the mag. "So hey, come over there to Astroworld. I'm not into all the other s--t. I don't get involved. I'm over here. Kylie is different."
Jenner admitted that Scott "gets more angry" about some of the attention and news headlines that come with the territory, but he's not alone in it. "I know these stories aren't going to matter, so don't even let them affect you, you know?" she said. "But it's not just men - it's friends, it's people who come and just don't know how to handle it. It's the negative. There's a lot of people who love us, but there's also a huge handful of people who don't like us."
And since her mere presence attracts more fans and paparazzi than usual, Jenner won't show on purpose, to let him "do this own thing." She adds, "I don't want it to be Kylie and Trav. If people don't ever see us together, that's okay with me."

Near the end of the article, they were both asked to reveal the last time they cried. For Travis, it was when Stormi was born, "as soon as I heard her crying." He noted that he was there for the whole birth, adding, "it was crazy."
Kylie said she shed a few tears after a recent "little fight" with her man, mainly because she was "just overwhelmed." They made up after she flew out to Houston to see her, where he gave her a chain with Stormi's name on it.
"When we fight, it's usually just because we've been away from each other for too long and we didn't see each other for like two weeks," she explained. "And we have Stormi now, and I can't travel with her. She's too young. So it's harder to see each other, but I was like, I just need to go and fix this and go back."

She also revealed the most romantic thing he's ever done for her: waking her up at sunrise on her birthday at his home, which he had filled with flowers and violin players.
Jenner also challenged Scott to see how well he really knows her -- see how he did in the video below:
The August issue of GQ is on stands July 24.

#RHoA: NeNe Leakes has a brief READ with former producer Carlos King!
NeNe Leakes was forced to get after a former “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” executive producer after he seemingly tried to stir up some drama in the comments of her photo with a few castmates.
Leakes visited pal Cynthia Bailey’s lake house along with Marlo Hampton and Kandi Burruss over the weekend.
“@cynthiabailey10 Thanks for inviting us all to party at Lake Bailey @marlohampton @kandi,” Leakes captioned her Saturday, July 14 Instagram post. “PS: I’m rocking @swaggboutiqueatl and this look goes online next week but available in store NOW.”

Fans eagerly applauded the fashionable ladies’ beauty. But then, ex-RHOA producer Carlos King commented about the few ladies who were missing from the get-together, including Kenya Moore, Eva Marcille and Porsha Williams.

“There’s a few girls missing,” he said. “@kingdomlos Chile don’t come over here starting nothing,” Leakes replied.
Fans backed Leakes for clocking the TV producer, whom they chided in turn.
“@neneleakes tell him honey.. O and that strawberry cake !!! WAS ‘EVERYTHING”‘ .. Still love u @kingdomlos ‘stranger.'”

“@kingdomlos peace be still. Good energy only okay.”
“@kingdomlos wasn’t this the fool who applauded [Kylie] Jenner for being named Forbes richest billionaire?? Now he’s on NeNe’s page.”

King produced season six, seven, eight and nine of RHOA before leaving the show after landing a deal with ITV America. He and Leakes previously had beef but it was effectively squashed in April 2017 after Leakes posted on Instagram that he showed up to her Swagg Boutique to support her.
“Mega producer, very rich b— … Mr. Carlos King @kingdomolos crawled thru @swaggboutiqueatl to support!” Leakes posted on IG at the time with a live video proving their strife is over.” Whatever you’ve heard about me and him, hunni it’s TRUE now gone.”

#Empire: Serayah wants you to know that she’s here To Stay!
Many may recognize Serayah McNeill as the feisty music superstar Tiana Brown from the hit FOX series Empire. The cast and crew of the Lee Daniels-created show is getting ready to shoot Season Five after a cliffhanger ended Season Four. Although Serayah is “super blessed” to still be on the show, she’s ready to break away from her character in order to take the world by storm by being her very own, talented self, converting fans one at a time.

She recently spoke to VIBE about her career!

“People are now just getting used to my music and don’t really know all of my songs like that, so [the best thing about performing] is seeing their reaction to something they don’t know,” she says, recalling her first performance at the BET Experience this past June. “Oh they’re dancing, they’re into it. By the second hook, they’re singing it. I think that’s the most beautiful thing.”

Her latest, “So Good,” was released on June 29 and is turn-up ready. She’s already charting the future. She says to VIBE: Television shows don’t last forever, and show business is unpredictable. As a result, Serayah acutely aware of the need to keep grinding once Empire comes to an end. Not only does she hope to continue prospering through her music, but she also aims to appear in more films. She appeared in Netflix’s Burning Sands with Trevor Jackson and Trevante Rhodes in 2017, and starred in 2016’s Lucky Girl with LeToya Luckett and Columbus Short.

“With [Empire] being so successful, I already put the pressure on myself to do me outside of the show,” she explained. “I have faith. That’s what I’m focusing on now, getting prepared for those moments I can grab and have after the show.” In that respect, Serayah says that she and her character Tiana are very similar. Tiana also moves with career goals in mind, and they’re both hungry to be successful and the best they can be.

How will Serayah continue to stand out from the pack? Other than her standout fashion and hair choices and commitment to keeping it real at all times, the beauty’s dedication to growing her craft should prove to be helpful in the long run. She’s steadily auditioning, putting in work in acting classes, and perfecting her musical performances.

Look out your next Phenom is on the rise. KUDOS!

#MusicNews: THE RETURN OF SADE! New Album Is Coming!
Stuart Matthewman says Sade have “a bunch of songs” in the works
Sade’s Stuart Matthewman has revealed in a new interview with Rated R&B that the band have begun working towards a new album. According to Matthewman, Sade Adu and company have already written “a bunch of songs” for the follow-up to Soldier of Love, which was released in 2010. “[Sade’s] not interested in the fame or any of that [other] stuff. She likes to put out art,” Matthewman said. “So when it’s ready, it will come out.”

Sade recently released her first new song in 7 years, “Flower of the Universe.” It was featured on the soundtrack for Ava DuVernay’s reboot of A Wrinkle in Time.

#HipHopNews: Scott Storch Traces His Career Missteps And Success In New Documentary
A new 20-minute documentary from Vevo traces the rise and fall of Scott Storch with help from the producer himself.

Still Storch, directed by Rollo Jackson, tells the infamous story of the ex-Roots member through a series of interviews that find Storch opening up about his game-changing career, as well as the drug and money problems that swept him from the public eye over the past decade.

There are anecdotes about Storch first learning to play piano (illustrated with a rendition of Joe Jackson's "Steppin' Out"), crafting "Still Dre" with Dr. Dre, and of course, spending excessive amounts of money on yachts, cars and private flights. He speaks with a humbled appreciation for the extent of his self-destruction.
"After snorting a couple of lines of cocaine, it seemed like a good idea to have a tractor trailer show up with four to five cars, new ones, every couple weeks," he remembers. "I was playing a role, maybe, and trying to be the king, and live a billionaire's life as a millionaire, and it's dangerous stuff."

The 20-minute film splices stories of musical inspiration and drug binges with original footage of him playing piano in various settings, including on a rooftop, along with music videos for some of his greatest hits. Also included is the iconic clip of Storch playing his keyboard while receiving a haircut.

Ultimately, it's a redemption narrative. The producer ditched cocaine, got out of debt and moved from Miami to Los Angeles. Today he spends most of his days in the studio, where he's cooked in recent years for Lil Wayne, Young Thug and Jazz Cartier. The doc wraps with Storch speaking his goals into existence.

"Taking back my throne and having people understand just how much music I'm capable of making now and how much I made in the past," he says. "I want to be remembered as one of the greatest producers to ever be."

Justin Bieber Doesn’t Want the ‘N-Word’ Fight Used Against Him in Egging Lawsuit
Justin Bieber wants many, many things banned from being spoken about at an upcoming trial in his seemingly endless egging lawsuit, particularly the altercation during the NBA Finals when he allegedly hurled the N-word.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Bieber’s attorneys lay out a laundry list of topics concerning the pop star’s behavior that they deem irrelevant to the case. They specifically don’t want a 2016 street brawl brought up where Bieber is accused of saying the N-word in front of a crowd of people. (He is also being sued over that incident.)

Bieber is being sued by his former neighbors for egging their house several years ago. He ended up having to pony up over $80,000 for the repairs and his lawyers are calling the neighbors’ claims of distress in this current case “trivial, irrelevant” and “petty.”

According to the documents, “whether Bieber was a bad neighbor — either by driving fast around the neighborhood, hosting loud parties or having poor guests — has absolutely nothing to do with” the case and they don’t want it spoken about during the hearing.
Attorneys also want to prevent the Biebs’ former neighbors from claiming that the extensive media coverage of the egging saga is causing them or their kids’ emotional distress.

They’re also trying to put the kibosh on the neighbors claiming that “third-party tweets” should be used to justify their suffering. Justin Bieber’s dedicated legion of fans, the Beliebers, are notorious for viciously defending the star on social media.
“Bieber cannot be held responsible for tweets and communications from third parties he does not know or control,” the document states regarding the Beliebers.

A judge is yet to rule on the various topics and the next hearing on the case is in August.

#BritneySpears Suffers Nip Slip on Stage, and she Doesn't Give AF
Britney Spears is a living legend, a wonderful mother, and an absolute music phenomenon. She is also currently on her Piece of Me Tour.
On Saturday, she suffered a bit of a wardrobe malfunction while on stage. Specifically, it was a nip slip.

An insider close to the tour is dishing on exactly how Britney is reacting to the realization that she was flashing the entire crowd for a couple of minutes.
Now, a source explains to HollywoodLife that Britney's nip slip was no big deal.
"Britney is so not bothered by wardrobe malfunctions," the insider reveals.
"At this stage in her career," the source continues. "They’re like second nature to her."
She's had a lot of shows and a lot of costumes in 20 years.
"She just rolls with it," the insider explains.
It totally makes sense that Britney is unfazed by the nip slip. Realistically, the naked eye is not going to be able to spot the naked nipple on stage.

"She will," the source admits. "Make sure to use some stronger tape going forward though."

This is a grueling tour. Thankfully, she's in the best shape of her life.

The singer, whose real name is Eldra Patrick DeBarge, got into an argument Friday night in California and chased a man out of a house, TMZ reported. The unidentified man then ran to hide in an RV, where 57-year-old DeBarge allegedly attacked the windshield with the tool.

The man called the police, who arrested DeBarge for felony vandalism. He spent the night in jail before posting $20,000 bail.

El DeBarge’s rep did not immediately return a request for comment.

#POLITICS: Trump Tries To Walk back his Disastrous statements after that Putin Summit
President Donald Trump on Tuesday responded to the widespread condemnation of his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, claiming that he believes the conclusion of U.S. intelligence agencies that Russia interfered in the 2016 election. His words came a day after he sided with Putin in an extraordinary press conference.

“I accept our intelligence community’s conclusion that Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election took place,” he said Tuesday, appearing to read from prepared remarks, before suggesting that it “could be other people also. A lot of people out there.”
During Monday’s press conference with Putin, he refused to condemn Russia’s interference, saying that he accepted the Russian president’s denial and took Putin’s word over the conclusion of U.S. intelligence agencies, which he has continually attacked during his presidency.

“President Putin just said it’s not Russia,” Trump said. “I don’t see any reason why it would be.”

But on Tuesday, Trump claimed that he misspoke, explaining that he meant to say that he saw no reason why it would not be Russia.
“I would like to clarify, in a key sentence in my remarks, I said the word ‘would’ instead of ‘wouldn’t.’ The sentence should have been: ‘I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be Russia,’” he said.

He deviated from his prepared remarks to return to a familiar talking point: “There was no collusion,” which he appeared to have handwritten on the printed statement he was reading from on his desk.
Trump’s attempt to walk back his remarks resembled his response to pushback from his moral equivalence remarks following the deadly white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, last year in which he blamed “both sides” for the violence, before reading a prepared statement condemning the white supremacist groups — and then later doubling down on his original remarks.
“He was on good behavior for a day [and] then he switched back again,” Sen. Mark Warner (Va.), the senior Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, told reporters Tuesday, comparing the president’s response to his remarks after the Charlottesville rally.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), meanwhile, called the entire situation a “debacle.”
“This has been more than unfortunate,” Murkowski told reporters on Tuesday. “So the fact that he’s retracing his steps is important, but he sure stepped in it yesterday.”

Trump received near-universal condemnation of his Monday remarks, even from many Republicans. Just hours after the stunning press conference, he defended his statements during a friendly Fox News interview with host Sean Hannity, an informal adviser to Trump.

Trump has previously claimed that he believes the U.S. intelligence agencies. Yet he also regularly discredits them.
In addition, he previously suggested that other countries, not necessarily Russia, could have interfered in the election.
“It could be Russia. And it could be China. And it could be some guy in his home in New Jersey,” he told Time magazine in November 2016. “I believe that it could have been Russia and it could have been any one of many other people. Sources or even individuals.”

In January 2017, he suggested that he believed it was Russia, but added that “I think we also get hacked by other countries and other people.”

Madonna’s New “Tree of life,” Photo With All Her Kids Will MELT your Heart
Madonna was the proud mamma on Monday.

She posted a photo of all six of her kids, celebrating family time during a one-year anniversary visit to a children’s hospital she helped found in Malawi, the “Today” show reported.
Lourdes (with Madonna’s ex, Carlos Leon), 21; Rocco (with Guy Ritchie), 17; Mercy, 12; David, 12; and 5-year-old twins Estere and Stella, surround their 59-year-old pop-icon mama.
The family posed under a mural of a tree outside the facility, “Today” noted, and Madonna captioned the picture “Tree of Life.”
The Mercy James Centre for Pediatric Surgery and Intensive Care is named for one of four kids Madonna has adopted from Malawi.
“I love when my kids are in Africa,” Madonna told People in 2017. “Their selfless behavior, compared to the normal complaining in the privileged world we live in, is great to see.”

Batwoman TV Series will have a Groundbreaking Lesbian Superhero Lead At the CW!
Batwoman is already scheduled to visit the Arrowverse for the annual crossover event in December; she may now become a permanent member of it, expanding the universe and breaking some TV ground in the process.
The CW has put in development a Batwoman series for 2019 consideration. It hails from former The Vampire Diaries executive producer Caroline Dries and the architect of the CW Arrowverse, Greg Berlanti.

In Batwoman, written by Dries based on the DC characters, armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.
Batwoman already has been a trailblazer for LGBTQ+ representation in comics. After a long hiatus, she was reintroduced to the DC comic universe in 2006 when she was established as a Jewish lesbian, becoming the first-ever lesbian superhero title DC character. Now Batwoman would become the first gay lead character — male or female — of a live-action superhero series. (DC, Berlanti and Warner Bros. Animation previously collaborated on the first animated show with a gay lead, Freedom Fighters: The Ray on CW Seed).

Batwoman would join Arrowverse, which features a number of LGBT characters, including Arrow‘s Curtis Holt, The Flash‘s Captain Singh, Legends‘ Sara Lance and Supergirl‘s  Alex Danvers.

Batwoman comes from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television where the company recently extended its overall deal. Dries, who is lesbian, executive produces alongside Berlanti Prods.’ Berlanti and Sarah Schechter as well as former DC Entertainment president Geoff Johns (The Flash) via his new Mad Ghost Productions banner. Johns also has been producing the long-gestating Batgirl DC feature at Warner Bros.
Casting is about to begin for an actress — likely lesbian — to play Batwoman in the DC crossover event in December. If Batwoman goes to pilot, the same actress will play the central character in it. Dries does not work on a CW DC series but is expected to be involved in some consulting capacity when the character of Batwoman is crafted for the crossover, which spans Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl. (It is unclear yet which of the series would introduce her.)

It was Arrow star Stephen Amell, along with the CW president Mark Pedowitz, who announced at the CW presentation in May that this year’s crossover event will feature Batwoman. “This is the first time ever that Batwoman will make a live-action appearance on any screen,” Pedowitz said, adding that, along with Batwoman, the City of Gotham also will be added to the ever-expanding Arrowverse.

Did Bryce Harper cheat in The Home Run Derby?
The controversy: Bryce Harper, in defeating Kyle Schwarber in the Home Run Derby last night, didn’t follow the rules. Or else his dad, who was pitching to him didn’t. The rule in question is that the pitcher has to wait for the last hit ball to land before delivering the next one. Given that the Derby is a timed event, such a thing matters, of course, because the faster you get pitches the faster you can hit them out of the park. At least if you don’t get too tired first.

Harper’s dad was a bit quick with the final three pitches in the final round, allowing Harper to get to 18, tying Kyle Schwarber before winning it outright with his 30 seconds bonus time. Watch as Harper waves for his dad to deliver the pitch while the last ball is still flying:

So r we just ignoring the fact the Bryce Harper & his dad cheated & did not follow the rules of the #HomeRunDerby ? The previous hit ball must hit the ground before the next ball can be thrown to the batter. Harper needs 4 Home Runs taken away, video evidence. #Justice4Schwarber
I’m not gonna argue that he didn’t do it. I will say, however, that no one should really care. Mostly because it’s the Home Run Derby and it doesn’t matter a bit. Getting mad about this is a half-step removed from getting mad that Blackjack Mulligan used a foreign object to gouge Pedro Morales’ eyes during a house show in 1976. Yes, it’s true, but c’mon, we’re entertaining people here.

I have not seen any suggestion that Kyle Schwarber is upset, but if he later says he is I’ll simultaneously understand yet still roll my eyes. I doubt MLB will do anything here or issue a statement of any kind. If it does, I’ll roll my eyes harder. Because, I repeat: It’s the Home Run Derby.

Former ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ Star Phaedra Parks Sells Her Buckhead Mansion at a LOSS For $950K
Phae Phae  recently sold one of her homes in Atlanta’s ritzy Buckhead neighborhoods for nearly $1 million.
According to AJC reports, The Buckhead semi-French Provincial-style mansion in Chastain Park was on sale last November for $1,195,000. She dropped it to $1,050,000 by May. The buyer, who is not known, got the price down another $100,000.

She purchased the home in 2013 for $845,000, according to Zillow.
Originally built in 1988, it has four bedrooms and 4,453 square feet on two-thirds of an acre of land.

In October, 2016, just a few months before she was dropped from the cast of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” she purchased an even bigger Buckhead home for $1.9 million on two acres.
