EBONY’s coveted “POWER 100” list was released today and it’s packed with some of the biggest stars on the planet including media mogul Oprah Winfrey, multi-award winning singer and fashion icon Rihanna and box office sensations Kevin Hart and Sterling K. Brown. It also features emerging talents like “Girls Trip” actress and comedienne Tiffany Haddish, Hip Hop artist and philanthropist Chance the Rapper and Emmy winner Lena Waithe.
According to EBONY, the “POWER 100” honors those using their gifts to change the world as well as those brilliant minds of color making advances in technology and politics.This year’s cover star is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson while legendary Congresswoman Maxine Waters will pick up the Icon Award.

#RHoA: Kenya, Kenya, Kenya Why they Keep Nasty rumors on You?
Girl, A day I the life of Kenya Moore! A month before season 10 of the Bravo series even premiered, rumors began circulating that Moore had either been fired from the series or was close to it over her refusal to film scenes with her new husband, businessman Marc Daly, who has no interest in appearing on the show. But she recently spoke to E! News, assuring fans that those rumors couldn't be farther from the truth.
"Oh, absolutely," she told E’ when asked if it was safe to assume her job was safe. "I think my storyline speaks for itself, the fact that I'm one of the most Google'd people on the show and, one might say, one of the most relevant. I don't think that anyone would rush to a judgement to say I wouldn't be a Housewife. I have the top storyline of the entire season, so that wouldn't even really make good business sense."
As for what might cause her to one day give up her peach, Moore had this to say: "In life, you have to make choices based on where you are and what makes you happy. I think that everything comes to an end at some point...In the real world, things evolve and change and I think that I have to just constantly make decisions based on my happiness and my family's."
Turning to the events of last night's episode, which saw Kenya enter into an explosive argument with enemy Kim Zolciak-Biermann at NeNe Leakes' party after the Don't Be Tardy star proclaimed that Kenya's husband was fictional, she admitted that watching the scene back some four months later made her angry all over again. "It's never good to see yourself being attacked and being ridiculed or something that's important to you being made a mockery of. And that's what happened last night. Kim Zolciak, for whatever reason, has really an axe to grind with me and I have no idea why," she said. "Seeing the episode now...yes, it makes you angry all over again because I was minding my own business. I don't have anything to say about Kim Zolciak and to be attacked in that way and to have my family be attacked and to have my integrity be attacked, it's not fair to me. It's not fair at all."
Of course, Kenya did strike back, bringing up an old tweet of Kim's from May of this year wherein she made a crass joke about her daughter Brielle involving oral sex. The comment sent Kim into a rage spiral, forcing her husband Kroy to escort her out of the party. However, as Kenya sees it, she didn't cross a line because she was simply repeating something Kim already said on her own. "I didn't talk about Brielle, let's be clear about that," she said. "I repeated something that Kim had already stated to the world. So I didn't talk about her, I reminded her that she said those things on a worldwide platform. Just repeated it remind her: Don't talk about my family. You need to worry about your own."

#EMPIRE: Taraji P Henson Speaks out on the Slave Trade in Libya!
The current crisis in Libya, in which hundreds of thousands of migrants are being smuggled and sold in slave auctions, is finally getting global attention after CNN published a report regarding the shocking issue. Video footage showed clips from a live auction, prompting outrage and protests.
A number of musicians, influencers, and politicians have also spoken up on social media, in hopes of bringing more awareness to the issue. While CNN’s report put a spotlight on the terror in Libya, there are still a number of questions unanswered as well as false information circulating. Find out all the basics you need to know below.
1. People are being smuggled into Libya with the hopes of migrating to Europe.
Refugees and migrants—mostly from Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Zambia, Senegal, Gambia, and Sudan—are reportedly being smuggled into Libya by a number of gangs with the promise of a new life in Europe, Al Jazeera reports. Libya is reportedly the main gateway for migration to reach Europe by sea. The United Nations estimates that nearly 150,000 migrants pass through the country in a year.
2. Migrants are being forced into slavery and prostitution rings.
Upon entry into Libya, men and women are sold into prostitution and forced labor. They’re reportedly being sold for prices ranging from $700 to several thousands.
3. There are several slave markets happening at once.
CNN reports that there are at least nine locations across Libya where slave markets take place. The number of slave auctions reportedly increases each month. Some of the auction sites are believed to be controlled by Libya’s Government National Accord, while others reportedly are not.
4. Libya’s conflicting governments put a strain on any resolutions.
Libya is believe to be a failed state. It’s political system is controlled by competing government—the National Transition Council (which is recognized by the UN), and the Khalifa Hafta government—and other political groups such as the Islamic State of Iraq, the Levant group, and al-Qaeda. Each group controls a specific territory with contrasting immigration laws.
5. Deportation centers are full.
In Sept. 2017, officials conducted a raid of the Libyan city, Sabratha, where they rescued thousands of migrants from warehouses and farms. According to CNN, approximately 8,000 migrants were being held in detention centers, awaiting deportation.
6. The UN considered sanctioning guilty parties.
The UN Security Council reportedly held an emergency session earlier this year, in which they were considering sanctions against individuals or groups involving in the auctions and human smuggling, according to Al Jazeera.

Following “Have A Seat” from earlier this month, iconic R&B group En Vogue have returned with the third taste of their forthcoming album, Electric Café. The trio’s new single, “Rocket,” is the latest debut.
The lyrics were written by Ne-Yo and produced by Curtis “Sauce” Wilson whose credits include Brandy, K. Michelle, Musiq Soulchild, and Celine Dion.
Electric Cafe is set for a March 30, 2018 release and will feature guest appearances by Snoop Dogg (“Have A Seat”), with production from Raphael Saadiq, Dem Jointz, and longtime En Vogue producers Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy.

Meek Mill’s Bail Request Denied, Judge Says He’s A ‘Flight Risk’ & ‘Danger To His Community’
More bad news for Meek Mill. The judge has denied his request for bail claiming the rapper is a “flight risk” and a “danger to his community.”
Via TMZ: According to docs, obtained by TMZ, Judge Genece Brinkley says Meek is a “flight risk” and “a danger to the community.” In denying him bail, she also questioned the validity of his clean drug tests … suggesting he might have used something called “Fast Flush” to cleanse his system.
Meek’s lawyer went to court and asked for bail pending an appeal on his 2 to 4 year prison sentence for a probation violation. The violation is tied to Meek’s 2008 conviction on drugs and weapons charges.
There’s a big move to free Meek on grounds the judge was prejudiced … biased against Meek when he would not change managers or give Judge Brinkley a shout-out in a Boyz II Men song.
Meek’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, says Brinkley’s decision “continues her long pattern of unfair treatment” of Meek … and vows they will appeal.
