There were a lot of opportunities that weren’t really what I wanted to do,” says Zendaya, who is 20. “I think a lot of people look at me in a certain way because I’ve been on the Disney Channel a long time.
On being fat shamed:
This guy that was my love interest was like, ‘I’d never date you in real life,’ and I was like, ‘What?’ And he was like, ‘Yeah, you’re too big for me’. It was one of the only actors that ever made me cry on set.
On the Star Wars racism he received:
When I was exposed to the world in ‘Star Wars,’ I also was exposed to the reality of ignorance that still exists around the world. When I was in ‘Star Wars’ there was a semi, kind of racial discussion that was quite negative when it first came out.

New Music Video: Chris Brown – Questions
Chris Brown just wants to know, ‘Can he get an answer?’
The R&B star keeps summer ‘turned on’ with the colorful music video for his Dancehall inspired new single, “Questions.”  Shortly after announcing the Halloween release of his new album, Heartbreak on a Full Moon, Brown unleashed the vibrant visual for the song, which samples Kevin Lyttle’s 2003 hit “Turn Me On.”
Breezy keeps it light and simple in the dance-heavy clip, which showcases his always sharp moves, whether dancing with troupes of women, men, or solo with his new lover.
“From the moment you was dancing in the party / Pushing all on me / Giving everything, you’re giving everything tonight,” he sings. “And if you thought you could get away from me / Girl, just take your time, you’re coming home with me tonight.”

Later, he adds: “She only love me ’cause I’m dangerous / That poom-poom somethin’ like angel dust.”
“Questions” is the latest release off Brown’s Heartbreak on a Full Moon, which is potentially a double album expected to arrive on Halloween.

#NEWHIPHOPVIDEO: Video: A$AP Mob – ‘Feels So Good’
In anticipation of Cozy Tapes, Vol. 2: Too Cozy, A$AP Mob unleashes the lo-fi video for their newest single, “Feels So Good.”

Filmed during a photo shoot, the clip features the Harlem crew dancing, performing, rapping, and having fun on set. It includes a rambunctious performance from the Mob, further accentuated by shaky, grainy, and sometimes blurry camera work.
Last night, Rocky, Ferg, Nast, Twelvyy, and Ant also debuted their newest release on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” Much like the video, the performance started in a backstage area with shaky camera work.

When the guys walked onto the set, they immediately walked right out into another backstage area. Finally, the Mob emerged on the actual stage for the rowdy finale.

Cozy Tapes, Vol. 2: Too Cozy arrives Aug. 25. Up next, the New York collective will head out on their “Too Cozy Tour,” which is set to kick off Sept. 23 in Lowell, Mass.

TERROR! Barcelona attack: van crashes into crowd at Las Ramblas, killing 13, as driver still on the Loose!
A white van crashed  into a packed summer crowd this evening in Barcelona's historic Las Ramblas district. Barcelona police confirmed it was a terror attack. Officials said 13 people were killed and more than 100 injured.
The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack. The terror group has frequently declared that it was behind terrorist incidents in recent years, but experts have warned their claims should be treated with caution.

Two suspects were arrested. Police later said the driver was still on the run.
Police shot dead a third man who drove at officers at a checkpoint. It was not clear whether he was connected to the Las Ramblas attack.
One of the arrested men was named as Driss Oukabir. He is suspected of renting the van, but later denied involvement and reportedly said his documents had been stolen.
The afternoon attack in the northeastern Spanish city was the country's deadliest since 2004, when al-Qaida-inspired bombers killed 192 people in coordinated attacks on Madrid's commuter trains.
It left victims sprawled out in the street, spattered with blood or crippled by broken limbs. Others fled in panic, screaming or carrying young children in their arms. As witnesses and emergency workers tried to help the wounded, police brandishing hand guns launched a search of side streets looking for suspects.
State-owned broadcaster RTVE reported that investigators think two vans were used - one for the attack and a second as a getaway vehicle.
Las Ramblas, a street of stalls and shops that cuts through the center of Barcelona, is one of the city's top tourist destinations. People walk down a wide, pedestrian path in the center of the street while cars can travel on either side.
The Spanish royal household said on Twitter: “They are murderers, nothing more than criminals who are not going to terrorise us. All of Spain is Barcelona. Las Ramblas will go back to being everyone’s.”
U.S. President Donald Trump said: "The United States condemns the terror attack in Barcelona, Spain, and will do whatever is necessary to help."
He added: "Be tough & strong, we love you!"
Carol Augustin, a manager at La Palau Moja, an 18th-century place on Las Ramblas that houses government offices and a tourism information center, said the van passed right in front of the building.
"We saw everything. People started screaming and running into the office. It was such a chaotic situation. There were families with children. The police made us close the doors and wait inside," she said.
While full details of the incident were not immediately clear, since July 2016 vehicles have been used to ram into crowds in a series of militant attacks across Europe, killing well over 100 people in Nice, Berlin, London and Stockholm.

Cavs owner Dan Gilbert's gave a $750K Donation To Trump's Inauguration and LeBron is now going to JUMP SHIP!
We said 3 years ago that LeBron James going back to Cleveland after owner Dan Gilbert never PUBLICLY apologized for that disgusting slave-like letter was a questionable move. Dan's latest move may have just cost the team their star for good.....
Yesterday, a report surfaced from Bleacher Report's senior writer Ric Bucher saying Cavs owner Dan Gilbert donated three quarters of a million dollars to Trump's inauguration.
That nugget of info was unveiled after LeBron -- once again -- made it very clear he is NOT a fan of #45. The NBA Champ tweeted throughout the weekend about how horribly this Administration handled the white supremacists gathering in Charlottesville:

LeBron has been outspoken about his disdain for Trump's MAGA ways since election season. So it should have come as no surprise to Dan Gilbert - who Bron already has a strained relationship with - that his star player would have an issue with him publicly supporting Trump.
Fast forward to a new report saying LeBron is ready to leave Cleveland...ASAP. Veteran sports writer Chris Sheridan broke the news today saying Bron is definitely leaving after this season, and it's totally because of Dan Gilbert and co.:

And in Twitter World seems like they’re siding with LeBron!
But there's always those "fans" (and owners) who don't actually give two sh*ts about these players as human beings.  They care about rings. And we hope players around the league take note and never forget that:

LeBron has always said "it's bigger than basketball." I guess Dan Gilbert didn't take him seriously. He will now.

Families of Ariana Grande Concert Bombing Victims to Receive $324,000
Nearly three months after a terrorist attack left 22 people dead and many more injured at an Ariana Grande concert in England, the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund has announced that it will provide $324,000 apiece to the families of the deceased.
The Guardian reports that families of the dead have already received around $90,000 each and they are expected to obtain the rest within weeks.
The money comes from the $24.5 million that was raised after the horrific incident took place at Manchester Arena, where Grande was performing as part of her “Dangerous Woman World Tour.” More than $2 million came from Ariana’s “One Love” benefit concert, which took place in June.

Sue Murphy, chair of the trustees of the fund spoke with TMZ about the distribution of the money. “The payments will ensure the families benefit from the phenomenal outpouring of public support following the attack,” she said.

According to the report, some of the funds have already been allocated to those who were hospitalized as a result of the terror attack. Murphy is now apparently looking into how to distribute the rest of the money, taking into account different variables.
“There are some grey areas,” Murphy told The Guardian. “For example, people who were quickly discharged from hospital but have since had to return for further operations.”

There are also other factors that will be weighed in. “The trickiest part of it is going to be mental health issues,” she said. “It’s difficult to predict. Some people might not know yet how they are going to be affected in the long term.”

Ariana has become closely linked to England following this attack and her subsequent outreach. After the incident, Grande wrote an emotional letter, announcing her benefit show, which also featured performances by Pharrell, Miley Cyrus, Mac Miller, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Coldplay, Liam Gallagher, and The Black Eyed Peas.
“We will never be able to understand why events like this take place because it is not in our nature, which is why we shouldn’t recoil,” she wrote. “We will not quit or operate in fear. We won’t let this divide us. We won’t let hate win.”

Aside from the “One Love” concert, Grande also visited fans who were in the hospital. Last month, Manchester honored her as an honorary citizen, thanks to all of her work.
According to The Guardian‘s latest report, a new fund will be launched to pay for a memorial for the bombing victims. Some have suggested this could be a statue of Grande, while others have recommended a garden filled with flowers that attract bees, Manchester’s civic symbol.

Aretha Franklin Wants To Open Nightclub named ‘Aretha’s’
Aretha Franklin has her sights set on nightlife. Reportedly, the ‘Queen of Soul’ is planning to move back to her hometown of Detroit and open a nightclub. The 75-year-old singer currently lives in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Aretha, who announced earlier this year that she’s retiring, says of her latest venture,

"I’m interested in doing a small nightclub downtown, and he (Bruce Schwartz, Detroit relocation ambassador for Bedrock Real Estate Services) and I have been talking about this for a couple of years now and I’m just letting him know I’m still interested. In my retirement plan, I’d like to have a small club here in Detroit."

She already has a name picked out "It would be Aretha’s!"

She continues,"From time to time I would sing, and of course, I would have special artists come in to perform for the city that people in Detroit like — Detroit favorites."

What are your thoughts on Aretha opening a club?

Baltimore Quietly Removes Confederate Statues Overnight
A monument dedicated to the Confederate Women of Maryland lies on a flatbed trailer near the intersection of Charles St. and University Parkway early Wednesday morning after it was taken down. (Jerry Jackson/Baltimore Sun)

BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh has a few words of advice for leaders in other cities who might want to get rid of Confederate monuments: “Do it quietly and quickly.”

On Tuesday Pugh ordered four statues in Baltimore removed under the cover of night. In the morning, city residents awoke to empty marble plinths.
Crews began removing the city’s Confederate monuments late Tuesday and finished at about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday. The city also removed a statue of Marylander Roger B. Taney, the U.S. Supreme Court justice who wrote the Dred Scott decision denying citizenship to African Americans.

Pugh made the decision Tuesday morning to remove the monuments that night in order to avoid attention.
“It was important that we move quickly and quietly,” Pugh said, “and that’s what we did.”
Elliott Cummings, a member of the Maryland Sons of Confederate Veterans, denounced Pugh’s “barbarism and Taliban-esque actions” in tearing down the statues. “I’m angry and very sad at the same time.”

Cummings also said he doesn’t think the city followed proper protocols, which would have included getting approval from the Maryland Historical Trust to remove the monuments.
John Coleman, public information officer for the Trust, said in a statement that while “the formal process of removing the monuments was not followed, due to the rapidly evolving circumstances MHT will work with the city on the relocation, restoration or preservation, etc., decided in accordance with the current easements.”
Workers used cranes to lift the towering monument to Robert E. Lee and Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson onto a flatbed truck in the dark.
“I did what was right for my city,” Pugh said. “Any city that has Confederate statues has concern about violence occurring in their city.

Social justice activists in Baltimore had pledged to take the statues down themselves on Wednesday evening. Protesters in Durham, North Carolina, toppled a monument to Confederate veterans on Monday night.
Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, a stone monument at Hollywood Forever Cemetery commemorating Confederate veterans was taken down Wednesday after hundreds of people demanded its removal.
And in Annapolis, three of the four members of the State House Trust voted Wednesday to remove another statue of Taney from the State House grounds, according to Doug Mayer, a spokesman for Republican Gov. Larry Hogan, and Alexandra Hughes, chief of staff to Maryland House Speaker Michael Busch. It was not immediately clear when the removal will take place.

Baltimore’s swift removal of its monuments comes days after what’s believed to be the largest gathering of white supremacists in a decade — including neo-Nazis, skinheads and Ku Klux Klan members. They descended on Charlottesville for a rally prompted by the city’s decision to remove a monument to Lee.
Violent clashes broke out between white nationalists and counter protesters and a woman, 32-year-old Heather Heyer, was killed when a car plowed into a crowd of people who were there to condemn the white nationalists.

New Orleans removed its Confederate monuments in late April and May, also in overnight operations. Pugh said she’d met with New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu and discussed his strategy.
Jamye Wooten, an activist and organizer, said removing the statues is a good start, but there is much more work to be done.

“I’m much more concerned with the systems and institutional structures of white supremacy than the symbols,” he said in an email Wednesday, “but when I read a post by a dear sister friend on Facebook this morning expressing her relief that she would no longer have to walk past the Confederate monument in her neighborhood – that gave me a moment of joy.”
Greg Baranoski was walking his dog in Baltimore’s Mt. Vernon neighborhood just after midnight on Wednesday morning when he saw a crew taking down the Taney statue. It took about 40 minutes, he said.
“It was the fastest thing I’ve ever seen the city do,” he said. “It was amazing, really amazing.”
Baranoski said that until recently, he admired the monuments as pieces of art even though he didn’t agree with “what they stood for.” But he said in the past few days, he’s come to believe that the monuments should be removed.
Baranoski’s suggestion: Replace the Taney statue with one of Maryland native Thurgood Marshall, the nation’s first black Supreme Court justice.

“It’d be super poetic to replace the statue of Chief Justice Taney with Justice Marshall,” he said.
