ICONIC COUNTRY SINGER GLEN CAMPBELL IS DEAD AT 81
Glen Campbell, the upbeat guitarist from Delight, Arkansas, whose smooth vocals and down-home manner made him a mainstay of music and television for decades, has died, his family announced on Facebook on Tuesday. He was 81.

"It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and legendary singer and guitarist, Glen Travis Campbell ... following his long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease," a Facebook statement said.
Campbell is best remembered for a string of country-inflected hits that ran from the mid-'60s to the late '80s: "Gentle on My Mind," "Rhinestone Cowboy," "By the Time I Get to Phoenix," "Wichita Lineman," "Galveston," "Southern Nights" and "The Hand That Rocks the Cradle" among them.
They fit in neatly on both pop and country radio, with two of them -- "Rhinestone Cowboy" and "Southern Nights" -- hitting No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

He was also famous for "The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour," a TV variety show that ran from 1969 to 1972.
Before he became a solo star, Campbell was one of the music business' most in-demand session guitarists, known for his astonishing speed and his brilliant ear.
He was part of the famed "Wrecking Crew" of L.A. session musicians that included Hal Blaine, Leon Russell, Larry Knechtel and Carol Kaye. The crack band played on records by Phil Spector, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, the Monkees, the Beach Boys and Frank Sinatra.
That's Campbell's fretwork on the Beach Boys' "Good Vibrations" and "Help Me Rhonda," Sinatra's "Something in the Night" and Elvis Presley's "Viva Las Vegas," among hundreds of recordings.
Such versatility was a necessity to get work and stay fresh, Campbell said in an interview. As a teenager, he was in a band with his uncle and the group had a regular radio gig.

"Music was my world before they started putting a label on it," he told ClassicBands.com in 1999. "We had a five-day-a-week radio show, six, seven years. You use up a lot of material doing that. We did everything from country to pop, when rock came along."
Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley, Brian Wilson, Lenny Kravitz and other musicians flooded Twitter with tributes to Campbell.
"Thank you Glen Campbell for sharing your talent with us for so many years May you rest in peace my friend You will never be forgotten," said fellow country star Charlie Daniels.
"RIP my dear old friend Glen Campbell. Music has lost a giant of a man & a talent. I shall be forever grateful for everything he did for me," said singer Anne Murray.

The singer's daughter, Ashley Campbell, said she is "heartbroken. I owe him everything I am, and everything I ever will be. He will be remembered so well and with so much love."

#HIPHOPNEWS: Report: Eminem to Release New Album This Fall
Guess who’s coming back, back again? Eminem is reportedly prepping a new album for release this year.
According to HITS Daily Double, Slim Shady’s ninth studio LP will arrive this fall through Shady/Aftermath/Interscope. Other big-name acts slated to release albums this year include Taylor Swift and Sam Smith.
In October of last year, Eminem confirmed that he was crafting the follow-up to 2013’s The Marshall Mathers LP, when he released his “Campaign Speech.” At the time, he tweeted: “Don’t worry I’m working on an album! Here’s something meanwhile.”

Last month, “The Defiant Ones” director Allen Hughes revealed that Shady was working on the album with a little help from his longtime mentor. “People don’t know this,” said Hughes. “Dre records every day. Literally, he’s in there recording songs every day. He’s like Picasso in that way. He’s always painting. Right now he’s producing, in the 11th hour, a track for Eminem’s latest album. So Dre’s still real active in music.”
Around the same time, 2 Chainz claimed that he was called upon to participate in the new Shady project. “He let me hear this song and it was funny,” said Chainz. “I heard some things in there where his vernacular was 2 Chainz-y. It was crazy.” Shortly afterwards, he said he didn’t “know anything” about the collaboration.
Eminem’s longtime manager Paul Rosenberg was also recently named Def Jam CEO, a position he is not starting until early 2018, according to Variety.

Shady has also been making noise outside of the studio. He recently signed on as a producer of Bodied, a new battle rap-based film that was directed by Joseph Kahn with appearances by Calum Worthy, Anthony Michael Hall, Debra Wilson, and more.

#RIHANNAMANIA: Rihanna Dazzles at Crop Over Festival
Rihanna ROCKS AGAIN!  After turning heads with vibrant and revealing costumes in past years, RiRi returned to her native Barbados for the annual Crop Over Festival, just in time for the grand finale, Kadooment Day.
This time, Bad Gal stunned in a bedazzled barely-there bikini to go with her pink, green, and aqua feathers. Plus, she showed off her recently-debuted turquoise hair, which put an exclamation mark on this year’s outfit.
Rihanna has stripped down to head-turning looks like this in the past. In 2011, she wowed fans with a red, orange, and yellow ensemble, which was featured in her “Cheers (Drink to That)” video.
Two years later, Bad Gal opted for an all-white ensemble. Once again, the Barbados superstar highlighted her country’s annual festival with an eye-catching appearance.

In 2015, RiRi returned to the Kadooment Day Parade in a colorful outfit with turquoise and black wings to go with her pimp cup.

Why is Sinead O’Connor living a Travelodge in New Jersey?
Fears grow for Sinead O'Connor after singer posts video saying she is 'alone' and 'suicidal' living in a Travelodge 'My whole life is revolving around just not dying'

Singer Sinead O’Connor has sparked fresh concern over her mental health after posting a Facebook video in which she reveals she has wanted to kill herself for the past two years.

The Irish songwriter, who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, took to the social media site for a tearful confessional recording, opening up about how alone she has felt since losing custody of her 13-year-old son.

In the video, posted from the Travelodge in New Jersey where she says she is now living, the 50-year-old said she suffers from three mental illnesses. “I’m all by myself, there’s absolutely nobody in my life.

“I’m now living in a Travelodge motel in the arse-end of New Jersey.
“[No one] except my doctor, my psychiatrist — who is the sweetest man on earth who says I’m his hero — and that’s about the only f**king thing keeping me alive at the moment. The fact that I’m his bloody hero ... and that’s kind of pathetic.”

O’Connor, who shot to fame in 1990 with the smash hit Nothing Compares 2 U, claims she is being treated “like s***” by family members who are refusing to take care of her.
“It’s like a witch hunt, they are pointing the finger saying ‘see, see this is why’,” she said.

“I’m fighting and fighting and fighting like all the millions of people.
“If it was just for me I’d be gone. Straight away back to my mum ... because I’ve walked this earth alone for two years now as punishment for being mentally f**king ill and getting angry that no one would f***ing take care of me.”

When O’Connor, a mother of four, lost custody of her youngest child, she made suicide threats, warning Ireland’s Child and Family Agency they would have “a dead celebrity on their hands” if they didn’t reverse their decision.
In her latest post, she describes her mental illness as being like “a drug” but said she hopes that by sharing her feelings, she can help others.

“I hope that this video is somehow helpful,” she said.
“I know that I’m just one of millions and millions of people in the world that suffer like I do that don’t necessarily have the resources that I have.”

“I give so much love in my life ... I want everyone to see what it’s like.”
She adds: “Mental illness is a bit like drugs, it doesn’t give a s*** who you are. Equally what is worse is that the stigma doesn’t give a s*** who you are.”
She reveals her suicidal thought, saying: “I have been wanting to go for two f***ing years. I’m a 5’4” little f***ing woman wandering the world for two years by myself.

“Nobody in my f***ing life ... It’s a crime and it should not be acceptable to any man that knows me or claims to love me.”
How to help someone 'at risk of hurting themselves'
But she adds that she intends to survive her latest crisis.
“I’m really sad and I shouldn’t be here and I know I’m just one of millions and that’s the only thing that keeps me going,” she said.
“I’m making this video because I am one of millions.
“You’ve got to take care of us ... We are doing our best like everybody else.

“Three f***ing illnesses made me suicidal ... My whole life is revolving around just not dying.
“And I’m not going to die, I’m not going to die but still this is no way for people to be living.
“I’m not doing this for me. I’m staying alive for the people that are doing this to me. If it was me, I’d be gone.”
The thousands of comments from friends and followers on Facebook and Twitter mainly expressed concern for the singer’s well-being and urged her to seek help.

#FASHIONNEWS; Marc Jacobs On Cultural Appropriation: “Maybe I’ve Been Insensitive”

Earlier this year, many people were very unhappy with Marc Jacobs’ spring 2017 collection. Jacobs’ stated that he wanted to pay homage to Wachowski’s Raggedy Ann hairdo with wigs styled as pastel dreadlocks. This was the beginning of the backlash and what many considered “cultural appropriation.” It certainly didn’t help that most of the models who wore them were white.
“What I learned from that whole thing, what caused me to pause after it died down a little bit, was that maybe I just don’t have the language for this, or maybe I’ve been insensitive because I operate so inside my little bubble of fashion,” Jacobs says.
Marc Jacobs’s fall “street wear” collection paid homage to the hip hop community. The designer wanted to make amends for anyone he hurt last season. The title of his Fall 2017 collection was called “Respect.”
The designs from the collection included tracksuits, a shearling-lined denim jacket, oversize bucket hats by Stephen Jones, and heavy gold neck chains made in collaboration with the artist Urs Fischer.

Do you think the tribute to the hip hop community is a start towards progression?

Usher’s Insurance Company Doesn’t Feel They Should Have to Defend Him in Herpes Lawsuits
Usher’s insurance company claims the singer didn’t just allegedly hide his herpes diagnosis from his sexual partners, but from them as well — which they believe means they shouldn’t have to fork over a dime on his behalf.
According to court documents filed today in Los Angeles Superior Court — and obtained by PEOPLE — New York Marine and General Insurance Company believe they are under no obligation to defend the singer in his current lawsuits in Georgia and California or any potential lawsuits that may come down the road.

Among their list of reasons, New York Marine claims the policy between them and Usher “does not apply to ‘bodily injury’ … arising out of the transmission of any communicable diseases by insured.”
Furthermore, New York Marine claims the policy expressly states that New York Marine “does not provide coverage for an ‘insured’ who has a. intentionally concealed or misrepresented any material fact or circumstance.”

The company also says Usher never made mention of the fact he settled a prior lawsuit in 2012 for $1.1 million over the same issue.
New York Marine is asking the court to rule that they are not obligated to defend Usher in the Georgia lawsuit, the California lawsuits or any future lawsuit that may arise involving the transmission of the herpes virus.
The company has begun defending him in the Georgia case until a judge rules, and is asking to be reimbursed for any expenses they incur in the meantime, should they prevail in this case.

Usher’s attorney did not respond to requests for comment.

Charlamagne tha God Threatens to Sue ‘Rolling Stone’ Over ‘Transphobic Comments’ Story
Charlamagne tha God may have laughed alongside Lil Duval’s transphobic comments on The Breakfast Club, but he wants to make sure that everyone knows he didn’t actually make the comments.
Rolling Stone accused Charlamagne of making the transphobic comments and now he’s threatening to sue if the publication doesn’t apologize.

via TMZ:The ‘Breakfast Club’ host fired off a legal letter to the magazine saying its July 31 article on Rollingstone.com, headlined … “Janet Mock on Charlamagne tha God’s Transphobic Comments,” is defamatory as hell since he didn’t make such comments.

Rolling Stone has since changed its headline to “Janet Mock Speaks Out Following Charlamagne tha God’s Controversial Morning Show.” But the DJ is still furious and he’s demanding an apology, full retraction and money for damage to his reputation.
You’ll recall Charlamagne had comedian Lil Duval on his show, and outrage ensued after Duval said if he ever discovered he’d unknowingly slept with a transgender woman, she would be “dying.”
Charlamagne seemed to condemn the remark and reminded Duval it’s a hate crime. But Charlamagne says RS took his words out of context to write a fictitious and negative story.

We’ve reached out to Rolling Stone, so far no word back.

#SPORTSNEWS; Michael Jordan Says LaVar Ball Couldn’t Beat Him One-On-One Even If He Were One Legged
LaVar Ball has been making headlines all year. Some people have praised his parenting style when it comes to his sons and their basketball dreams, and others have said that LaVar may sometimes do a little too much.
Nonetheless, some people thought LaVar completely lost it when he claimed that he could have beaten Michael Jordan on the court back in the day.

Back in June, he said on Jimmy Kimmel Live, “Back in my heyday, I would kill Michael Jordan one-on-one.”
Now the basketball legend has responded to LaVar Ball’s claim.
According to Bleacher Report, during a Q&A session at his Jordan Flight School in Santa Barbara, an audience member asked Jordan about his thoughts on LaVar Ball’s claim, and he said, “You got to understand the source. I think he played college, maybe? He averaged 2.2 points a game. Really? It doesn’t deserve a response, but I’ma give it to you because you asked the question.”

He continued, “I don’t think he could beat me if I was one-legged.” Listen to it HERE!
