EBONY Magazine Honors Top 100 Achievers In The Black Community
EBONY magazine celebrates its 70th anniversary with a dynamic cover for the December/January issue. The powerful cover urges its readers to “Stand For Something” starring legendary actor/social activist Harry Belafonte standing between socially conscious celebs, “Grey’s Anatomy” star Jesse Williams and Disney starlet Zendaya, symbolizing a passing of the baton of Black power and pride to generations of entertainers to come.
Inside, the magazine pays homage to the outstanding achievements of African-Americans tastemakers with the unveiling of the 2015 Power 100 List.
Some making the list, include NBA player and literacy advocate Russell Westbrook, the casts of “Empire” and “Power,” singer/activist Janelle Monae, actresses Regina King, Viola Davis, Jada Pinkett Smith, hair-care entrepreneur Miko Branch, minister at the front lines in Ferguson, Rev. Traci Blackmon and many more. These achievers have had noteworthy accomplishments over the past year, representing a variety of fields, including politics, business, education, media, religion, music and more.
EBONY’s editor-in-chief Kierna Mayo had this to say about the passionate cover and issue:
“It is truly an honor to celebrate the tremendous talents and accomplishments of the honorees on this year’s Power 100 list. To honor those who made the Power 100 list, EBONY will be hosting it’s Power 100, 70th Anniversary Gala on Wednesday, December 2nd at The Beverly Hilton in L.A. The soiree will feature a '70s inspired theme as a celebration of Black pride and it will be hosted by TV personality Arsenio Hall. Nice!

#EMPIRENEWS ‘Empire’ Stars Taraji P. Henson & Terrence Howard Host Fox Holiday Music Special
Fox’s Empire stars Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard will host Taraji And Terrence’s White Hot Holidays, which the network is billing as a music and variety special to spread cheer, goodwill and some holiday magic, on December 9 at 9 PM ET/PT.

The special will feature a duet by Henson and Howard, and modern performances of classic holiday songs by Mary J. Blige, John Legend and Jamie Foxx, and other guests. Casey Patterson Entertainment, Don Mischer Productions, Henson, Howard and Vincent Cirrincione are producing.
Empire returned this season as the No. 1 series on broadcast television, averaging 22.9 million viewers across multiple platforms, as well as being the most tweeted-about scripted program on broadcast television this season on Twitter. Two more original episodes of Empire remain this fall; the music special airs on week after the series’ fall finale. The series does not return to originals until Wednesday, March 30.
#RhoA: Porsha Williams Hints at a New Man; Says Distance Ruined Relationship With Duke Williams!
After the grown-man boyfriend shower Porsha Williams threw boyfriend Duke Williams on last week’s Real Housewives of Atlanta, the writing was on the wall. This relationship was probably headed for the rocks. Duke and Porsha have indeed broken up since filming, but Porsha says it was mainly due to distance…and “some other things that will come out in the show.” What these “things” are is anybody’s guess!
When it comes to her breakup with Duke, Porsha says it’s all about the “fall back game.” “My fall back game is gonna be strong,” Porsha tells Bravo, saying she’s “fallen back on Duke a little bit.” If you’re not sure exactly what that means, Porsha adds the following clarifying statement: “So, we kinda broke up a little bit…” (Huh?)
Seemingly, Porsha is taking a higher road than she did in September when she sent some (slightly confusing) shade Duke’s way on social media: “If one won’t, another one will? Congrats, I hope she help you get that repo back & be asked to pay for her own flights.”
Asked about her love life, Porsha hints in a Bravo clip that someone special has indeed caught her eye. “As far as what I’m doing now, I’m dating. I’m dating!” says Porsha. “There is someone who has sparked my interest and, um, who’s standing out right now.”
Who this unnamed sparker-of-interests is has yet to be determined, as Porsha hasn’t posted a million pics on social media yet like she did when she and Duke made things public last July.
Whoever this new man is, he better dust off a spot on on his dresser for Porsha’s Boyfriend MVP trophy. It about to get itself re-gifted, ya’ll!

If you’re a fan of Rihanna, you’ll be happy to know the Pop princess will be coming to a city near you next year.
The “BBHMM” singer announced the coming of her “ANTI World Tour” that will kick off in February 2016. Nice! Hmm…so does that mean we’ll FINALLY get the Anti album before then? We think so. She just unveiled the brand new ANTI teaser via her Samsung app recently. The new teaser and the announcement of a world tour definitely seems like the makings of an album roll out.
Coming along on the Samsung-sponsored tour will be her rumored boyfriend Travis Scott for the North American leg (how convenient) and then she will bring The Weeknd and Big Sean along as supporting acts for the European leg.
As of now, no dates or prices for tickets have been released, but we hear those details will be coming soon. Tickets for the tour will go on sale Thursday, December 3rd. If you’re a TIDAL subscriber, you will be able to access a pre-sale starting Monday, November 30th.

Lil Boosie’s Homophobic Rant
Lil Boosie went on an Instagram tirade on Monday morning complaining about “gay sh*t” on television.
In the lengthy rant, the rapper expressed that since being released from prison, he has been confronted with gay story lines whenever he turns on the TV.
“Since I’ve came home ever time I turn on the Tv some gay sh*t on I try to watch love n hip hop (gay sh*t)tried to watch empire (gay sh*t) walked n on a cartoon doing gay sh*t a f*ckin cartoon kids watch tv,” he wrote.
The rapper added, “I guess next they go have a f*cking gay channel for kids saying if U want to be gay watch this tune n smh f*cked up world n my eyes ( but everybody don’t agree smh).”
And although Boosie did not mention How To Get Away With Murder’s Shonda Rhimes, the writer and show runner recently spoke out about the use of “gay scenes” on her shows, HTGAWM and Scandal.
When a viewer tweeted, “The gay scenes in scandal and how to get away with murder are too much. There is no point and they add nothing to the plot,” Rhimes responded:
“There are no GAY scenes. There are scenes with people in them … If you are suddenly discovering that Shondaland shows have scenes involving people who are gay, you are LATE TO THE PARTY … If u use the phrase ‘gay scenes,’ u are not only LATE to the party but also NOT INVITED to the party. Bye Felicia. #oneLOVE.”

Patti LaBelle Vows to Help James Wright Chanel Achieve Greatness
Patti LaBelle*Thanks to the amazing musical review that went viral from YouTuber James Wright Chanel, Patti LaBelle’s Sweet Potato Pies became a household name right in time for the holidays. While grandma may not appreciate you turning up to her home with a Patti Pie on Thanksgiving, Ms. LaBelle says the nation’s growing excitement over her pies has left her celebrating “the power of a great piece of food.”
“First of all, I have not felt this way in a long, long time about the power of a great piece of food,” Pattie said during her visit to the SiriusXM Studios on November 20. “I mean my pies are so good and they were going over the top before my new friend James posted that video and his video took us over the top again. I mean, this is a blessing.”
As of today, James’ video has been viewed over 10 million times, with initial reports claiming Wal-Mart sold more than $2 million in pies the weekend the video dropped. However, company spokesperson Scott Markley explained to NBCBLK that official sales figures have not been released.
“We do not release sales data that specific to either dollars or the actual number of pies so I don’t know that either [report] is accurate. I won’t say they are,” he said.
Patti may have taken all the credit for her pie phenomenon when TMZ’s paps caught up with the R&B diva recently – a moment Jet Magazine parodied in this hilarious video – but she was more gracious during her Sirius chat, and acknowledged that no one was promoting the pie until her “friend” James went viral with his passionate approval.
LaBelle thanked him once again when she surprised TODAY’s Willie Geist and Tamron Hall with a sample of her exclusive Wal-Mart pie.
There was “talk” of James possibly capitalizing on his 15-minutes of fame by way of a duet with Lady LaBelle, and Patti has said she will lend her name toward his efforts to achieve greatness.
“I will sing with James anytime but that boy out-sings me,” the vocal powerhouse quipped. “He goes high, high, high up in the heavens. He can sing ‘Walk Around Heaven’ all day and honey. His voice is beautifully, beautifully high. I mean perfect. He has perfect pitch… I think he’s going to be all of that and a bag of chips. He’s doing the right thing, I think he has like 10 jobs and he keeps himself out there and he keeps himself current so he’s going to do well for himself and I’m going to make sure I help.

SAVAGE: Woman Stabs Pregnant Friend To Death & Then Cuts Out Baby
A Bronx woman is standing accusing of pulling off a Mortal Kombat style murder on her pregnant friend as she was reportedly jealous of her motherly status.

A baby-obsessed Bronx woman who stabbed an expectant mom to death claimed she killed her former pal in self-defense and cut the baby from her belly to save the newborn’s life.
The accused killer’s defense emerged on Saturday, along with bizarre details of her fascination with babies – and grisly details of the savage murder.
Ashleigh Wade, 22, was sitting on the stoop of her building, her hands dripping with blood after the knife attack. She told cops she stabbed Angelikque Sutton “as many times as she could,” a police source said.
Inside Wade’s apartment and surrounded by a sea of red, Sutton was barely alive, police said. She had been stabbed repeatedly in her neck and body and had a deep gash across her stomach, police said.
The baby’s placenta was found on the bathroom floor, officials said. And the bloody knife used in the killing was found nearby. Both mother and baby were rushed to Montefiore Medical Center, where Sutton, 22, died a little after 3:30 p.m.
After initially claiming she had just given birth to the baby herself, Wade later changed her twisted tune and said it was her pregnant victim who attacked her inside her home on Monticello Ave. in Wakefield.
Wade claimed Sutton lunged at her with a knife, but she wrestled it away and jammed it into the pregnant woman’s neck. She then cut open Sutton’s stomach to save the unborn child, she told cops.
“She said she wanted to save the baby,” a police source with knowledge of the case said Saturday.
