49ers sign QB Colin Kaepernick to massive 6-year extension for $126 million
Colin Kaepernick and 49ers reached agreement on 6-year extension worth over $100 million tying him to team through 2020. The deal is worth over $110 million with $61m guaranteed, most guaranteed money in NFL history. Colin Kaepernick’s $61 million guaranteed surpasses Peyton Manning’s $58 million in guaranteed money.

“Colin’s hard work and dedication have played an integral role in the recent success of the 49ers organization,” said 49ers general manager Trent Baalke. “His work ethic, leadership and on-field production have positively influenced our team, and we look forward to his continued growth in all areas.
“Our organization always looks to reward our players for their contributions and commitment to the team. Colin’s agents, Scott Smith and Jason Bernstein, along with Paraag Marathe and Brian Hampton, should be commended for working diligently to reach an agreement.”

Pharrell Williams nabbed the cover of Elle UK’s newest issue and controversy is already brewing behind P rocking a Native American war bonnet.
[UPDATE]: Pharrell has issued an apology via his rep after receiving negative backlash over his ELLE UK cover wearing a Native American headdress.
He said:
"I respect and honor every kind of race, background and culture. I am genuinely sorry," a rep for the star issued in a statement to the Daily News.
Pharrell Williams is having one hell of a year and to add to his accolades, he has landed on the cover of a special collector’s edition of the July 2014 issue of Elle UK magazine.
Donning an elaborate Native American headdress, the superproducer ditched his now famous Vivienne Westwood hat for Elle UK’s issue that features cult male icons on collector’s edition covers.
In the cover story P talked about how his wife, Helen, helps shape his creativity, his Vivienne Westwood hat and understanding the value of people and things.
Here are the highlights:
On how Helen helps his creativity: "We just motivated each other as friends. She pushes me. I push her."
On his Vivienne Westwood hat: "I remembered (Malcolm McLaren's) Buffalo Gals video, where he wears the hat. I actually wore it five years before I was photographed in it, it's just that no-one was paying attention at the time."
On good manners and understanding the value of things: "I wasn't always that way. I took a lot of years to understand the value of things and the value of the people you work with," he continued. "The value of your fans who ultimately hold you high and lift you up. We're just hang gliders, dude, and they are carrying us around."
Peep the behind-the-scenes-video of P’s Elle UK cover here.
You can check out P’s full spread and interview in the July issue of ELLE, out June 5th.
Meanwhile, people are already up-in-arms over P rocking a feathered warbonnet on the magazine cover. One comment on the magazine’s site reads, “This is so wrong, obviously. Ignorance is not bliss, especially for those of us on the receiving end. Ignorant or indifferent - end result is the same.”
And another comment reads, “Blatant disrespect to Native people and cultural traditions is really disgusting. As a major magazine, you should already know better."
Did you find his cover offensive?

2014 Glamour Women of the Year Awards Draws Big Names
London’s Berkeley Square Gardens was the place to be as the 2014 Glamour Women of the Year Awards was replete with stars.
“American Idol” hunk Adam Lambert mingled with the likes of Emily VanCamp and Lake Bell while beauties like Naomi Campbell and Alexa Chung worked their magic for the cameras.
Also in the house was “Modern Family” hottie Sarah Hyland, who wore a glamorous Gucci dress as she paraded her boyfriend Matt Prokop before the shutterbugs. Sam Claflin also gave the ladies a twinge of excitement has he made his arrival.
But the woman of the evening was most definitely Dame Helen Mirren, who was given the Icon Award from Glamour.

Your 40s are good. Your 50s are great. Your 60s are fab. And 70 is f*cking awesome. I'm not quite there yet, but almost."

Shady People Mag Denies Hillary Clinton Using Walker
Potential presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is featured on the cover of this week’s People magazine.
Some are criticizing People magazine’s editors for selecting a photo which gives the impression that the former Secretary of State is so weak she had to prop herself up with a walker.
In the photo Hillary, 66, appears to be holding onto to something with both hands, as if to steady herself.
People’s editors were quick to deny the accusations that they intended to make Hillary look weak and thus unfit to run for office.
From Businessinsider.com:
People magazine provided photographic evidence proving Hillary Clinton was not using a walker during a photoshoot for the cover of the publication’s upcoming issue. The theory Clinton was holding a walker in the picture was first floated by conservative blogger Matt Drudge after the cover photo excerpts of the People article on Clinton were published online Wednesday.
“Secretary Clinton is standing next to a patio chair in the backyard of her home where the photo shoot took place! I have also attached another photo from the shoot – thanks for checking in on this,” Nancy Valentino, a senior vice president of communications at Time Inc., which owns People, wrote to Business Insider in an email.
Dame Dash Tells Funkmaster Flex to Come See About Him “Beef”
Well Funkmaster Flex has ruffled some of Dame Dash’s feathers the other night when he was on air. It appears that Flex was going to air some dirty laundry about him and he made an announcement via Twitter for everyone to tune in..
Reports Vlad:
The famed Hot 97 radio personality came to Joie’s defense and had some other choice words for Dash, to which the music mogul responded to. Dame said that he would never come between a man and his issues with someone else, and offered to talk things out face to face.
“Hey @djfunkflex would not have an issue with another man over another man… I believe a man should speak up for himself and I really hope you would never desrespect me over another man I’m 43 so what I will do is give you an interview live where you can ask me any question you want and joi can as well…I was wondering who was gonna defend him from our culture… Funny that’s is you but…but I think you should have called me out of respect…but well talk about that face to face like men…your over 40 as well.”
First of all Hot 97 is doing whatever it takes for ratings and it’s obvious…. It’s not even officially summer and it’s already hot in these streets…
Beyonce Crushed By The Truth of Jay-Z’s Cheating
In order to be that strong woman that Beyonce plays on stage she was going to eventually have to come to terms with her own life situation, right? So after that infamous elevator video leaked out a few weeks back it was kind of inevitable that Queen Bey was going to have to face her own worst fears and take a good, hard look at her home life. According to the June 16th print edition of Life & Style magazine it didn’t take much digging for Beyonce to realize that a lot of those rumors about Jay hooking up with his protege’ were true. The truth has hit the star hard and those close to her are wondering how she is going to survive a summer on tour with a man that she can’t stand the sight of. Especially since part of their appeal is portraying a smoking hot couple onstage!
Speaking of broken couples, Bethenny Frankel’s divorce has been a disaster since the very start and as it still drags on the former reality star now claims that Jason Hoppy tortured her. These two have fought over everything from who would live in their home to (of course) custody of their daughter. As long as people listen it seems that one of them will be more than willing to complain. Does Miley Cyrus want Liam Hemsworth back? According to the new issue of Life & Style it might be what is at the root of all of her crazy behavior.
Can you guys imagine Kim Kardashian and Kanye West having another baby? Isn’t having one to ignore hard enough? Apparently less than two weeks after tying the knot in an over-the-top ceremony Kanye wants to start working on baby number two because he needs a little prince in the family. Kim isn’t exactly on board with the plan and it’s supposedly causing friction in their marriage already. How long do you think that Kim and Kanye’s marriage will last before things get ugly?
Take a Peek Inside Dr. Dre's 3.6 Acre, $40 Million Mega-Mansion
Although FORBES made sure to shut down the notion that Dr. Dre is in the Billionaire's Club (he's just a couple hundred million shy)....that won't stop him from living like one. The BEATS co-founder plunked down $40 Million to purchase a mega-mansion formerly owned by supermodel Gisele Bundchen and NFL QB Tom Brady.
The Brentwood, CA palace is 3.5 acres and includes a professional grade home gym, an infinity pool, a waterfall and motor court. We managed to grab a few interior pics of the STUPID BIG pad from a profile Architectural Digest ran on Gisele. And we're fantasizing with every pic.
Must be nice......
Michael Jackson’s Security Team Reveals Stories Never Told Before In New Book
No doubt, working as security for the most famous person in the world – especially if that person happens to be Michael Jackson – will eventually give way to a book. Can you imagine the experiences Bill Whitfield and Javon Beard, two men who spent 2 -1/2 years working together as the security team for Jackson, were privy to?
Now, as we approach the fifth year of Jackson’s passing (June 25, 2014), the two men have come out with a book that sheds light on the ways of their reclusive boss called “Remember the Time: Protecting Michael Jackson in His Final Days.”
Bill Whitfield was approached by a friend in 2006, who wanted him to work security for a mystery client who turned out to be Michael Jackson.
Whitfield, who had previously done security for Uptown Records founder Andre Harrell, was shocked to learn that Jackson’s entire security team would be him. So they brought in Javon Beard, who had never worked for a celebrity of this magnitude.
The two men were often Jackson’s sole conduit to the outside world, planning every aspect of his life to ensure the safest possible conditions. They kept him shielded even from his own family — who had to make appointments to see The King of Pop, per his request.
The men share many stories the public has probably never heard; including the stars’ naivete about real life conditions in the world such as homelessness, panic attacks, and paranoia.
Whitfield recalls the first time Jackson ever saw homeless people, from the window of his limo while driving around Las Vegas in early 2007. According to Whitfield, “Mr. Jackson saw these people and said, ‘Why are these people out there?’ ”
“Those are homeless people, sir,” Whitfield replied. “He was like, ‘Really? Wow.’ ”
Jackson had Beard, who was driving, pull over, and he watched them in amazement from his limo. He had the driver call a homeless woman over to the car and gave the ever-grateful stranger $300, leaving her close to tears. But as Beard started to pull away, they noticed a man she was with try to take the money, so Jackson gave the man $300 as well. “The lady started crying,” writes Beard, “like she’d been saved.”
The elusive star spent the rest of the night giving hundred-dollar bills to homeless people. “It’s just amazing,” he later said. “This country is so rich, and these people are poor and living on the street.”
The two speak of Jackson’s paranoia…
“He was always going around the house at 3 [or] 4 in the morning, checking locks on all the doors,” recalls Whitfield, who notes that Jackson “trusted no one” and “didn’t sleep much.”
His panic attacks…
Jackson even had “panic buttons” installed in several rooms for him and his children to press if there was trouble. “The alarm didn’t sound inside the house,” writes Whitfield. “Just in the [security] trailer, to alert us. And it was a loud-ass alarm.”
The first time the panic button was pressed, early one morning in April 2007, Whitfield heard it in the security trailer, ran around the house toward the kitchen door and stormed the kitchen with his semi-automatic Glock drawn — only to find Jackson and his children quietly eating their cereal. “They saw me and they froze,” he writes. “[Jackson’s son Blanket] was across the room by the TV, where the panic button was mounted on the wall. He was just walking around, hitting buttons.” While everyone was safe, Jackson was not happy about having a weapon pulled on his family. “Oh,” writes Whitfield, “he got on me about that.”
Michael lost his desire to go to an event he’d planned for weeks when brother Randy Jackson burst through the partially opened gates of his home once, demanding money he says Michael “owed him.”
The security team also speak of Jackson’s romance with a woman he only referred to as “Friend.”
While in Virginia in September 2007, Jackson told Whitfield that he needed to pick someone up from the airport. When Whitfield asked if the person needed to be vetted, Jackson said no, and referred to his mystery visitor simply as “Friend.” This visitor, it turned out, was Jackson’s secret girlfriend.
When they picked her up at Dulles Airport, they found a raving beauty, about 5-foot-4 with an Eastern European accent and dark, curly hair. They picked her up and drove her to a Hampton Inn in Chantilly, about 45 minutes from where Jackson was living. For the week or so that she was in town, Whitfield would drive Jackson to see her after the kids went to sleep. They would sneak in through the hotel’s emergency exit, and Jackson would stay there for hours but never spend the night, always making sure he was home before his children awoke. Whitfield and Beard believe the relationship was special for Jackson, as he would have them get gifts for her, such as engraved items from Tiffany.
Jackson and “Friend” were always affectionate and cozy. Whenever they were together they would “hold hands, sit very close together in the car, hug, kiss,” according to Whitfield. There were even times when they’d arrive at a destination, and whichever man was driving them would struggle to get their attention because they were making out in the back.
Also In “Remember the Time: Protecting Michael Jackson in His Final Days,” Bill Whitfield and Javon Beard, let readers know what it was like working with the King of Pop during the final years of his life and they’re not holding back, either.
For instance, there was the time, back in 2007 when the iPhone was introduced to the world, MiJac wanted one, but according to Whitfield and Beard, it almost didn’t happen because his credit was super jacked up. Whitfield says he once overheard Jackson say he had no idea where his money was or how much he had. He also talks about how he and Beard weren’t paid for months on end.
Anyway, as far as the iPhone is concerned, Whitfield said after Beard stood in line for two and a half hours to buy one, he was asked by Jackson to set up the phone. That’s when things really got interesting.
Here’s what happened next, according to Whitfield:
“I had all his personal information, so I said sure. I first tried to set it up in his name, but after running Michael Jackson’s Social Security number, AT&T wanted a $1,500 deposit. Just to turn on a cell phone. That’s how bad his credit was. I went ahead and set up the account in my name. Then he wanted an iPhone for his mom, so he could send her pictures of the kids. I set up his mother’s cell phone in my name too.”
Whitfield said eventually Jackson’s number was changed and the bill for both phone accounts was never paid.
“The charges had run up close to two thousand dollars, and they got disconnected,” said Whitfield.
I’m not buying any of this sh*t
Luther Vandross FINALLY Receives Star on Walk of Fame
For a man who sold well over 25 million records in his lifetime, won eight Grammy Awards and functioned as R&B’s chairman of the board for the better part of two decades, Luther Vandross goes strangely undermentioned today as a giant of urban music.
Yet the star, who died in 2005 at age 54 and is only now receiving his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, represented the vanguard of R&B during a time when it was relatively absent from the mainstream pop music conversation, erecting an indelible bridge between the great soul troubadours or disco mavens of the ’70s and the crossover-friendly R&B divas of the present day.
“There are a lot of trumpeters who play with a lot technique, and there are a lot of singers who can riff all over the place,” longtime collaborator Marcus Miller once said of Vandross. “But Luther and Miles (Davis), they could play all the notes, but they just played the right notes. They found the notes that would affect you, emotionally.”
Thanks to his seemingly effortless talent, Vandross experienced a lengthy career in music long before he cut his first record. In addition to work as a producer and a flourishing side career as a singer of radio and TV jingles, Vandross was nearly omnipresent in the late ’70s as a backing singer. Ironically, considering his initial lack of pop crossover appeal as a solo artist, Vandross was particularly adept at straddling genres, appearing on albums by Chic, Carly Simon, Barbra Streisand, Bette Midler, Quincy Jones, Sister Sledge and Average White Band. A featured spotlight on David Bowie’s “Young Americans” even led to a supporting slot with the Thin White Duke on tour.
In advance of his 1981 solo debut “Never Too Much,” Vandross hooked up with former high school classmate (and nephew of jazz legend Cannonball Adderley) Nat Adderley Jr. and jazz bassist Miller, who also worked frequently with Miles Davis throughout the decade. The three would be inseparable collaborators for the rest of Vandross’ career, racking up seven straight R&B No. 1 albums in 1981-91, and finally notching a Billboard No. 1 in 2003 with “Dance With My Father.”
By the mid-1980s, just as Vandross’ star was cresting, R&B was suffering from an acute dearth of male stars: Marvin Gaye had been shot dead, Al Green was focused on his ministry and abstained from secular music, Barry White had begun a period of commercial decline and Stevie Wonder’s golden era had ended. Vandross somehow managed to fill that void by taking a sharp turn away from his male predecessors, boasting a heart-on-sleeve femininity and a willingness to let his voice crack into weepy whispers and almost kitschy overflows of emotion, providing an unsung blueprint for the uber-sensitive likes of Maxwell and D’Angelo who followed his lead in the 1990s and beyond.
“I love Stevie Wonder and I love Teddy Pendergrass and I love Donny Hathaway and Tony Bennett for that matter,” Vandross said in a 1982 interview, “but they were not the ones to arouse my musical libido. It was those nights with the earphones listening to Aretha (Franklin) sing ‘Ain’t No Way’ and listening to Dionne Warwick sing ‘People’ and listening to Diana Ross sing ‘Reflections.’ It was those nights that just knocked me down. I emulated these people. And as a result of having a lot of female singers as my idols, my sensitivity level is much different than a lot of other guys singing.”
