Oprah Reveals the 1 Thing She Gave Up to Lose 42 Pounds on Weight Watchers
For years Oprah Winfrey struggled with her weight and yo-yo dieting, but she recently flaunted her 42-pound weight loss and and now, we're finding out exactly how she did it. In the January/February issue of Weight Watchers Magazine, Oprah talks about how positive thinking and balance helped her find pure happiness, and how giving up numerical goals ironically helped her lose weight.
"At 200 lbs., I was OK. I have never, ever, ever been at that point. And then at 190 lbs., I was OK. If I don't lose another pound right now, I'm still OK," she said. "The fullness of life, the fullness of being, the self-acceptance — I'd never done that before. I'd always beaten myself up because I was tied to a number."
Since teaming up with Weight Watchers and buying 10 percent of the company during the Summer of 2015, Oprah has never been shy about her goals and the determination it was going to take to get there. She explains that her perspective on living a healthy life mentally and physically had a major part in shedding those pounds.
"It was frustrating to promise myself 'I'm going to do it today, I'm going to do it today,' and then not stick to my plan," Oprah said. "So I shifted. Now, I don't have a goal in mind. I get to a certain weight and I'm OK, and say, 'This is where I want to be. Hang in there. I'll get there when I get there.' And my body will tell me when I am exactly where I need to be."
As a firm believer in the program, Oprah said that the first thing she had to do was find the "intention" of her weight loss. "Intention is the most powerful principle that rules my world. It's the principle by which I rule my company and every action in my life. I do nothing without first thinking about why I'm doing it.
"When the weight started to come off, I needed to get clear on my intention. I could lose weight to fit a dress size, or attend an event, or to make other people like me. But I couldn't keep it off for those reasons. I always put the weight back on," she said. "This time I changed the intention to, 'I want to be the healthiest I can be — physically, emotionally, spiritually.' So the process and purpose of losing shifted for me. It was easier, because my intention was clearer."
For Oprah, it's not about the number on the scale, "It's in the way you see yourself fitting into your life. Embracing your life. Honoring your life. Having reverence and appreciation for your life."
That mindset is exactly what we need to tackle our New Year's Resolutions.

New Music Snip! Jason Derulo Taps Nicki Minaj & Ty Dolla $ign for New Single ‘Swalla’
Jason Derulo is heading into the new year with new music. The singer has announced a brand new single called “Swalla” featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign.
“I feel like it’s a record we need,” he revealed during “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.” “It’s one of those ones that’s gonna get us up and dancing.”
“Swalla” is part of an upcoming album, which Derulo has been working on from his L.A. home.
“I’ve been recording at my house this time,” he recently told Billboard. “And it’s just been a much more comfortable experience. And I’m excited to share with you all my ups, my downs, my highs and my lows. Also got to work with a lot of amazing artists. 2017 is ours, Derulo Family.
“I’m looking forward to a fresh start [in 2017],” he added. “So much negativity in the world in 2016. We can start fresh putting love first. We can’t let our nation be run by racism, greed and abhorrence.”
Last year, the “Talk Dirty” crooner released a slew of new music, including “Kiss the Sky” and “If It Ain’t Love.” He also discussed a risk-filled new mixtape with Rap-Up. “I don’t know which songs are actually going to make the [mixtape], but I worked with Chris Brown, Ty Dolla $ign, Wale, French Montana,” he said.

Although the tape was never released, a new project looks to be on the horizon, starting with the Nicki and and Ty-assisted “Swalla.”
New Hip Hop Video: Jeezy – ‘Like That’ & ‘Sexé’
Just “Like That,” Jeezy is back with new visuals for the start of 2017.
Revisiting last year’s Trap or Die 3 LP, this clip is actually a tandem visual featuring two tracks, “Like That” and the Plies-assisted “Sexé.”
Driving around Miami in a topless Rolls-Royce, Jeezy boasts about his appeal while holding stacks of cash in “Like That.” “They all want a piece of Jizzle, like a cake,” raps the Snowman. “I’m what these bitches need, a dark skinned-ed Drake.”
Once the sun sets, Jeezy takes things to a lavish pad in the video for “Sexé.” Toasting to life in a pool party where beautiful women throw Snowman beach balls around, Jeezy celebrates all sorts of sexiness that surrounds him.
Released in October, TOD3 featured Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, French Montana, and Bankroll Fresh, among others. “When I hear trap music today,” he told Rap-Up prior to the album dropping, “I hear more about getting high and all types of other shit. I get it, but at the same time, I’m the big homie…I need to clarify a couple things.”

Jeremy Meeks: Ex-Felon Puts Past Behind Him; Now Living Good Life with Family
*If you’ve been wondering what’s up with ex-felon Jeremy “McDreamy” Meeks since his release from lockdown, we’ve got an update for ya.
It was just two years ago that Meeks was dubbed the “hottest felon” in the world after his police mugshot went viral.
Meeks, who became an Instagram sensation, has been posting pictures of a luxury lifestyle that strongly suggest life after crime does pay.
In one of the snaps, the 32-year-old poses with a $150,000 Maserati in front of what he claims is his huge mansion after turning his life around and becoming a full-time model.
As we reported, Meeks, a former gang member from California was jailed in 2014 on weapons charges, but his sexy mugshot, posted on the Stockton police Facebook page, had women begging to be “locked up with him” and had modeling agencies lining up at his cell door.
After being released in March last year, the ex-con has been keeping his 612,000 followers up to date on his new career — and it’s clearly going well.

Even Meeks’ fans were happy to see that his life of crime was behind him. On the Maserati picture, one posted: “Moving on up!”

As part of the 28th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival, Janelle, Pharrell and the Hidden Figures cast hit up the Parker Palm Springs to continue their promo run.
The day before, she and the cast accepted the Ensemble Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival's Awards Gala:

Brandy’s Songwriter Claims She Got Mad When He Took A Pic With Beyonce
Last week, Tiyon Christian, one of Brandy’s songwriters, went on a Twitter rant, exposing the singer for being petty and hard to work with.
It’s unclear what exactly transpired, but according to TC, who’s written for Brandy, John Legend, Tamar and others, Brandy is disrespectful and “treats others like sh*t.”
“If you’re gonna tell people something, tell them what YOU did and what you got,” TC tweeted. “being spiteful & ugly will get you nowhere.”
His rant continued, “You want respect, you give respect! But because you’re a “Vocal Bible” it’s okay to treat people like shit!”
TC then mentions that Brandy also felt a way when she discovered he took a photo with Beyonce. “And let’s not get on the fact that someone was made I took a picture with Beyonce…but let me shut up!”
TC has deleted the majority of his rant, but did make a mention that he was just trying to recover from the loss of his uncle before “people” had to be “petty.”
Later in the day it appeared that things had been smoothed over between TC and Brandy. Brandy posted a throwback video of the two on Instagram, insinuating that they may have hashed things out. “So glad we talked and came to a true understanding,” the caption read
As stated before, TC deleted the majority of his tweets towards Brandy. He hasn’t spoken any further on the situation since his rant. As far as the photo he shared with Beyonce, it was taken in 2011. Hopefully any ill-feelings Brandy had towards Beyonce have been resolved since then…then again, there’s still that ill-will towards Monica that’s been looming since the 90’s.
Tyler Perry Responds to Backlash for All-White Starring Cast in TLC Show “Too Close to Home”
Amidst all of the chaos around the world regarding racial tension among Americans, black filmmakers, who’ve been known to open opportunities for black actors, have made a shift in their casting and creation.
A few months ago, Lee Daniels, best known for his hit show Empire, created a new series with a white lead actress, claiming the country needed to heal.
Now, Tyler Perry, best known for his films for black families, has gone a different route with an all-white staring cast for his new TLC drama series, “Too Close to Home.”
Both creators received backlash for their shift in production. Perry rejected the criticism, calling out the critics for “reverse racism.”
“That’s totally reverse racism, because it was coming from African-American people,” Perry said of the backlash, which was mostly on social media.
“I don’t know if it was because I should only be giving jobs to black people. Well, I think that’s ridiculous. If you look at the hundreds of black people I’ve given jobs to and even the ones I’ve made millionaires, people of color, I just think it’s unfair.”
“I’m just finding out more as I travel the country and world, the more I meet people, we’re all the same,” he told the Associated Press. “We all got the same dramas. So I’m not seeing color as much as I did anymore in the sense of our stories. Our stories are so similar.”
The series, set to return to TLC on January 4, follows a young woman named Anna who leaves Washington, D.C., after a scandal and returns to a trailer park community in her hometown.
“I know that world very well,” Perry said, reflecting on his own experiences of once living in a trailer park community. “The same stories I’m relating to and telling, it could be anyone black or white. I’m not trying to shine a light on a certain stereotype or certain people in a trailer park. It’s my own experiences from having spent time and sleeping there.”
