LENNY, LENNY, LENNY! Lenny Kravitz Talks Having More KIDS In UPTOWN

Rockstar Lenny Kravitz put his grown-man good looks on the cover of UPTOWN’s Oct/Nov issue. And we’re literally drooling over how the eligible bachelor is making 50 look so damn good.

The iconic guitarist (who dropped his newest album STRUT recently) opened up about the possibility of having more children, getting married again, his love for designer digs by Saint Laurent and his future. Below are the highlights:

On having more children, and what his daughter 25-year-old Zoë Kravitz offered:

"I would like to do it again. That’s the way I feel, but when I bring it up [Zoë’s] like, ‘Slow down. Slow down. I can have kids. Slow down.’ So I don’t know if she’s too keen on it."

On getting married again after dating starlets and supermodels:

"I’m waiting. It’s coming. It isn’t a far-off thing anymore."

 On his love of fashion, specifically Saint Laurent:

"What I like are clothes that are classic rock and roll. Saint Laurent has that retro inspiration but its cleaned up and made into modern fashion. Their clothes fit my silhouette. They’re clothes that feel like me."

Reflecting on the deaths of his mom and dad:

“I thank God every day for my health. [Health], for me, is where it begins and the rest is gravy. Also [I’m thankful] for being disciplined. As they say in the Bahamas, there are a lot of talented people living under the bridge. A lot of folks driving cabs, fishing and working in the streets can act and sing better than people getting Oscars and Grammys."

On his future:

"I feel like whatever I’m supposed to do or get or achieve will happen, and what’s not mine is not mine to have. My grandfather used to tell me when I was a kid, 'Nobody can take anything away from you that is yours.' He also used to say, 'the best is yet to come.'"

LeBron James Stars In New Beats By Dre Commercial

In case you missed it, LeBron James is back on the Cleveland Cavaliers. So of course an all-new commercial, courtesy of Beats By Dre, highlighting King James’ return to Ohio was inevitable.

Called “Re-Established 2014,” a narrator (his mom) is heard saying, “Akron is home, this is the city that raised you,” before Hozier’s song”Take Me To Church” kicks in.

Powerful imagery, like James returning to his high school to put in work and footage of Akron, is seen throughout this clip. Speaking of, it’s a commercial for the Powerbeats2 Wireless in-ear buds.

LeBron is rocking that faux-hairline too, though.

TI Touches Down In Africa Amidst The EBOLA Crisis!

OMG! TI has landed in Africa for a performance that he says has to happen. Sources close to the situation says ... T.I. landed in Tanzania on Friday to headline the Serengeti Fiesta this weekend -- and his management team insists there is no risk of an outbreak, since the country has yet to have had a single Ebola case.

It's true ... Tanzania's on the far east coast of Africa, while the hardest hit countries are in West Africa. It's kinda like canceling a trip to Maine because Ebola's in Dallas.

One not-so-fun fact for T.I. -- just last month an Oxford University study said Tanzania is one of the top 15 countries in Africa at risk for animal-to-human transmission of Ebola.

If T.I. does get worried ... we suggest crowd surfing the way Akon did 2 weeks ago in the Congo.

Tyga and Kylie Jenner Going Overseas to get it Poppin?

Tyga should be absolutely ashamed of himself, even though they still deny they’re a couple, since she’s 17 and he’s 24 , but that’s not stopping them from flying together all over Europe, where it just so happens the age of consent would be more favorable for them, which I had no clue.

Tyga and Kylie were spotted together at England’s Gatwick Airport on Friday … then traveled on to Bordeaux, France and Geneva, Switzerland … before landing in Athens, Greece where Tyga had a gig Sunday night.

After sexing up L'Uomo Vogue in menswear, Nicki Minaj is gracing the pages of another magazine. The “Anaconda” raptress posed it up in between two pink and blue-died poodles in a sultry cut-out white top, her lady lumps on full display, and hip hugging blue pencil skirt for the November 2014 issue of GQ magazine.

As she gears up for the release of her third studio album, The Pinkprint, Nicki chops it up with GQ (barely since she dozed off at least four times during the interview) about her rump-shaking “Anaconda” video which she says is more about women keeping the power and control. Oh…

YMCMB’s first lady opens up about the scene with her chopping up a banana right before her lap dance with Drake saying,

"At first I'm being sexual with the banana, and then it's like, 'Ha-ha, no.' " I ask if she's referring to how the Drake scene immediately follows the kitchen scene. "Yeah, that was important for us to show in the kitchen scene, because it's always about the female taking back the power, and if you want to be flirty and funny that's fine, but always keeping the power and the control in everything."

Also in the video, there are a few products placed for advertising which actually seem a little out of place. Well, there’s actually a method behind her madness. Money, of course! She said,

"My management team has a division that has a guy that his main focus is to go out there and find new brands for me to do business with or to find brands that would like to be in our videos and contribute to our budget.”

And about the "Anaconda" coverart that almost broke the Internet with countless mems:

Wendy Williams On Aaliyah Biopic: ‘Don’t Skate Over [Her Relationship With R. Kelly]‘

This summer, when it was announced that the Aaliyah movie would be produced by Wendy Williams, it left some of the singers’ fans clutching their pearls.  Seeing as though the talk show host was known for spilling the messiest of tea back in her radio days, folks were not sure what to expect from the script once Wendy took the reigns.

Would this biopic start to revolve more around Aaliyah’s personal life than her contribution to music?

According to Wendy, the answer may be “Yes!”  Or at least she’s attempting to get to the bottom of Aaliyah’s life that has been swept under the rug.  In a recent interview with the Orlando Sentinel about the movie, Wendy pretty much said we should get ready because she is making sure that the real deal on Aaliyah and R. Kelly’s relationship is exposed in the biopic:

This movie is the first movie we’ve produced and it’s a very big deal. I was not originally apart of the production of this movie but you know when I do ‘Hot Topics,’ I’m just an observer like you. We sometimes tend to criticize except I have a purple chair. So the Aaliyah movie was already being produced and announced and everything and they wanted girls…anyway they were doing things wrong. I was like, ‘Look, if you’re going to make this Aaliyah movie, you gotta get it right, Lifetime. I love you, you’re good at wives who stab their husbands movies, but you gotta get this Aaliyah movie right.’ I was very popular on the radio for Aaliyah’s rise and untimely death. I want to hear about R. Kelly. I want to hear about Missy Elliot. I wanna not just hear about R. Kelly. Don’t skate over it. This needs to be a big plot line. I want to know what her father said when 16-year-old Aaliyah brought home 28-year-old man. I want to know what her mother said. I want to know what her brother said. How did Aaliyah get started? And how did this R. Kelly thing affect her career?

When asked how she was able to get involved with the project, she responded:

I’m criticizing…not criticizing but saying, this is what we want. Next thing you know, the phone rings at Wendy Williams Productions and we’re on.

Return Fire: Serena Williams SLAMS Russian Tennis Chief For His "Sexist And Racist" Joke

Serena Williams clapped back at a Russian tennis exec who joked that she and sister Venus should be dubbed "The Williams Brothers."  Find out what she said inside...

Serena Williams, who holds a record 18 Grand slam titles, has made headlines around the globe after responding to a joked she deemed "sexist and racist."

In case you missed it, Shamil Tarpischev, the head of the Russian Tennis Federation, appeared on a Russian talk show "Evening Urgant" alongside former Olympic singles champion Elena Dementieva who was asked what it was like playing against the Williams sisters. Before Elena could respond, Shamil piped in calling Serena and Venus the 'Williams brothers' and adding 'It's scary when you really look at them."

Although the comments were made in Russian, a quick translation let folks around the world know that he was being a jackass!  And Shamil didn't get away with it! He was slapped with a one-year suspension by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) and ordered to pay a $25,000 fine. But it didn't end there....

Serena spoke out about the Shamil's comments yesterday during a press conference for the start of the WTA Tour Finals,

'I think the WTA did a great job of taking (the) initiative and taking immediate action to his comments. I thought they were very insensitive and extremely sexist as well as racist at the same time. I thought they were in a way bullying.  But the WTA and the USTA (U.S. Tennis Association) did a wonderful job of making sure that -- in this day of age, 2014 for someone with his power, it's really unacceptable to make such bullying remarks"

And Serena got a co-sign from Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova, who chimed in, "I think they were very disrespectful and uncalled for and I'm glad that many people have stood up, including the WTA, It was very inappropriate, especially in his position and all the responsibilities that he has not just in sport, but being part of the Olympic committee.'

Following the worldwide backlash, Shamil released an apology via Russia's tennis federation saying,

"Serena and Venus (Williams) are without doubts outstanding athletes. The situation that has spontaneously emerged during the late night chat show had a bad influence on the perception of tennis in general and splits our friendly and cohesive team. I'm sorry that the joke which was taken out of context and attracted so much attention."

Fantasia’s Rumored Husband Gets Her Name Tattooed On His Chest

Now, we know it’s real!

Getting a tattoo of your boo’s name or face spells death and can sometimes put a spell on the relationship. So far that’s come true for Nas and Kelis, Wiz and Amber, and Mariah and Nick. But we definitely hope that won’t be the case for Fantasia and her rumored husband, Kendall Taylor.

Fantasia’s man let the singer know that his love for her was real by getting a tattoo of her name right on his chest. The huge piece also serves as notice that the COO is also the singer’s protector because her name is actually part of a larger piece. Covering his entire left pectoral and shoulder is a tattoo of a suit of armor, which has Fanny’s name inked right in the middle.

Fantasia shared [and deleted] the artwork on her Instagram, with the caption:

“Loyalty does not come Cheap!!!”

She also confirmed that she has an amazing relationship with her ex Antwaun Cook when she posted a photo of their son Dallas (who is too damn cute by the way) with Antwaun’s other kids and captioned it:

Jennifer Hudson Won’t Blame Fame for Breaking Up with Longtime Boyfriend

Jennifer-Hudson*Jennifer Hudson may have fame on her side nowadays, but that isn’t why the relationship with the man who previously captured her heart fell through.

According to the former “American Idol” contestant, it was something else that ended the romance.

“Yeah, I grew up with him… His name was James (see his photo below). We used to call him ‘Bear, Bear,’” Hudson told NecoleBitchie.com. “But he was my childhood sweetheart. He has a baby now. He moved to somewhere else. So that’s all I know about him now. Yeah, we all grew up together.”

As for the exact reason the singer and James broke up, Hudson wouldn’t go there. Instead she set the record straight on rumors of the split resulting from her newfound fame at the time.

“I think [him proposing if I won an Oscar] was a made up story at the time,” said Hudson. “When we broke up, it wasn’t the fame. I don’t want to put his business out there. It ain’t my place to tell. And maybe that’s a part of the private side to Jennifer but I just like to give people their respect to be honest. And he’s kind of like family to this day and I’m not going to put him on blast. I’m not going to do him like that.”

Despite being tight-lipped regarding the cause of the split, Hudson did confess that she was the one who initiated the demise of the eight-year relationship.

“It was my choice [to breakup]. Definitely,” she shared. “But it was nothing new or foreign like nothing out of the blue like he didn’t know what was going on. It had nothing to do with my fame at all. It was not an issue pertaining to that.”

Fame may not have been the cause, but the singer understands that it can make having something with someone special more of a challenge.

“It is difficult with [this] type of lifestyle and being a strong woman and being in any type of relationship,” Hudson stated. “Which I’ve eventually come to learn when dealing with people. Or males at times have issues when they are with a successful woman. Or even, it’s weird. And I mean that in general. Across the board. It’s something I’ve noticed in a lot of situations when it comes to successful women or strong women.”

New COUPLE ALERT: Columbus Short's New Girlfriend Rasheeda Says She’s NOT Afraid Of Him!

They found love in a hopeless place.

Former “Scandal” star Columbus Short is in a new romantic relationship. And his new chick claims she’s not afraid of him, despite allegations from his estranged wife Tanee McCall that he tried to kill her.

Meet Rasheeda Russell. She’s a naturalista, an Instagram "personality", and health food junkie mother-of-two of Jamaican decent. Rasheeda and Columbus met while he was in Barbados for Crop Over (during the time he was wanted by police in the States) acting a fool.

Rasheeda (some reports are calling her Rashida, but she actually spells her name Rasheeda) is stanning for her man, claiming her new beau’s violent/criminal past doesn’t scare her one bit because he’s totally submissive and treats her like a queen.

According to reports, Columbus moved her from New York to Atlanta (where he currently resides), despite being evicted from his California apartment after falling behind on rent recently. She says she's helping Columbus keep his life in order. His new chick is making sure he’s present for scheduled appearances and keeping him focused as he works on his music.

Idris Elba On Being A Loving Dad And Studying Psychopaths For "No Good Deed" in Rolling OUT!

Although Idris Elba plays a psychotic killer in the Will Packer-produced film "No Good Deed" (in theaters now), he revealed a VERY different side to ROLLING OUT.  Fans will be pleased to learn that he's very much a caretaker ("My children know what it is to have a hug and a kiss, be cuddled and feel comfortable") and he loves kids (“I love, love children. I love being a dad").

Also, he revealed how he got into character for the challenging role ("I wanted to research that psychosis to understand the people who are in jail for similar scenarios").  Check out the highlights and our exclusive interview with Idris' co-star Taraji P. Henson.

On playing a mentail-ill killer in "No Good Deed"

“The script is what the script is. I wanted to find out from people who create these situations, what’s missing in their lives. You and I may have a conscious stop button, and we know what we’re doing is wrong … but this guy doesn’t have that

“I wanted to research that psychosis to understand the people who are in jail for similar scenarios. My research involved looking into the mentality of someone like Colin, a troubled and anxious man on a mission. There are so many common denominators like their upbringing, neglected at child birth, abused as a child by their mum, dad or siblings, bullying, and they ended up having these similar personalities and didn’t have a conscience.

On being a dad:

“I love, love children. I love being a dad.  It’s one of the joys of life. In fact, you can take it all away from me tomorrow, but don’t take away my children.”

On raising a family:

“I just hope my children grow up saying my dad was my good friend and supporter … I was fair and just, helped them whenever they needed me to. And, that there was love. One thing I am very aware is that I love them and I love to embrace my children. My children know what it is to have a hug and a kiss, be cuddled and feel comfortable. My parents were not cuddlers or kissers, but I am,” he laughs.

On breathing exercise:

“I don’t pray. I don’t meditate. I do a lot of deep breathing whenever I get five or 10 minutes. It’s something great about oxygenating your body. It is a real good thing to do in moments of stress, weakness, tiredness … if you give yourself a little oxygen, fill your lungs to capacity and do it eight times, three to four times a day, it really helps. I am a multitasker. In my 24-hour day I am working 19. I get three to four hours of sleep, wake up and then I go again. I rejuvenate by drinking lots of water and doing my breathing exercises,”

On the next phase of his career-directing:

“I am shooting some videos for Jaguar. They have a new car [XE sport] coming out. My production company, Green Door Pictures, is developing social media content for them. That’s the direction I am going in: directing and producing. At GDP, we are developing three films, some TV shows and two documentaries.”

Personally I hated the movie! But congratulations it is The #1 Movie in the country! According to Variety. 

The Sony/Screen Gems thriller took in $24.5 million from 2,175 theaters, easily beating expectations. Going into the weekend, analysts expected the home invasion thriller to hover around $20 million. Females made up the bulk of the audience, taking up 60% of the seats in theaters, and 41% of ticket-buyers were under 30 years old.

“It’s not a full reversal of the weakness at the box office, but it’s a step in the right direction,” said Phil Contrino, vice president and chief analyst at BoxOffice.com. “It’s good to see new films enter the marketplace and do all right.”

“No Good Deed’s” success is a feather in the cap of stars Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson, both of whom actively hawked the film on social media.

“They absolutely elevated it,” said Rory Bruer, Sony Pictures’ president of worldwide distribution. “They’re so hard working. It was a great collaboration.”

It also helps that “No Good Deed” cost a mere $13 million to produce.

Chocolate City (The Black Magic Mike Movie) Is Now Filming

Earlier this year, it was reported that the urban version of Magic Mike was in the works, and it looks as though the new stripper movie titled Chocolate City is now filming.   

The flick stars a lot of familiar faces including, Tyson Beckford, Vivica Fox, Ginuwine, Darrin Dewitt Henson, Michael Jai White and Carmen Electra.  They’ve even added Bambi (of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta) to the mix.

Originally, it was announced that Romeo Miller would be in the film, but according to Always Alist, he was recently replaced by Cousin Skeeter’s Robert  Ri’chard [who recently showed us what he was working with in a photo shoot for MyCalvins

Iconic Pianist Joe Sample, also a prolific composer, dies at 75

Joe Sample - a pianist of enormous talents whose long, winding career spanned jazz, R&B, funk, pop, rock, country and zydeco - died Friday night. He was 75.

Sample was a founding member of the Jazz Crusaders, a bebop ensemble with roots back to Wheatley High School, which transformed into the Crusaders in the 1970s, a popular soul- and funk-influenced band that crossed over onto the pop charts in 1979 with the hit "Street Life," his best-known composition. But Sample's career projected well beyond his successful band. He was a prolific composer whose works were reimagined by blues, soul and pop performers - his 1980 composition "One Day I'll Fly Away" was sung by Nicole Kidman in the film "Moulin Rouge" - and also sampled by hip-hop acts such as De La Soul and Tupac Shakur.

Sample's ear for music and touch on the keyboard were so far-reaching that he could play just about any form of music, having done sessions with country singer Hoyt Axton, blues great B.B. King and progressive jazz rock act Steely Dan, and also played the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1997 with Eric Clapton. Sample was called in for sessions by scores of recording artists including Quincy Jones, Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye and Joni Mitchell, including landmark recordings like Gaye's "Let's Get It On" and Mitchell's "Court and Spark." In 2009, Sample played piano and did arrangements for Willie Nelson's standards album "American Classic."

"He was one of the real shining lights in music - and not just jazz," said musician and producer Steve Tyrell, a friend of Sample's since childhood. "Music was music to him, he could play all of it. But the thing about Joe, he was so identifiable and broad in his style of playing. He could play anything, but no matter what he was playing it always sounded like him - whether it was jazz or something with Steely Dan or Eric Clapton."

At Wheatley High School, Sample co-founded a jazz ensemble with flutist Hubert Laws, drummer Stix Hooper and saxophonist Wilton Felder. At Texas Southern University the ensemble added a trombonist named Wayne Henderson and a few other players and became the Modern Jazz Sextet. After college the group - frustrated by the difficulty in finding good work in Houston's segregated clubs - packed up and headed to Los Angeles. There they found work performing with a Houston connection, blues great Johnny "Guitar" Watson, who looked after the young players. During that time the Modern Jazz Sextet transformed into the Jazz Crusaders.

For more than a decade the Jazz Crusaders turned out a sleek form of bebop. But by the late '60s jazz was suffering an identity crisis over its next direction. Some tended toward fusion, a melding of jazz and rock. The avant-garde looked to global sounds and free improvisation. Sample, who was increasingly drawn to the electric piano, and his band mates took a third path. They dropped the "Jazz" from the band name and became the Crusaders, marrying their jazzy foundation to smoother soulful sounds of the era. The decision was met with derision by the establishment - "a form of critical suicide," is how the encyclopedic "Penguin Guide to Jazz" authors put it. But it also proved very popular. Henderson split in 1975 shortly before the band's biggest chart successes.

Performer, producer

Sample during this period was omnipresent in American recorded music, doing numerous sessions for all manner of artists and also working as producer on recordings by artists including B.B. King, Bobby Womack and Bill Withers. The Crusaders cruised into the '80s and Sample continued to keep busy outside the band, doing production and playing keyboards on Tina Turner's huge comeback album "Private Dancer."

"People loved working with him because he was so good at getting the rhythm together," said musician Ray Parker Jr., who worked with Sample frequently over four decades. "With Joe you had to have the rhythm right. He wanted a good groove. If you didn't have that, he'd stop everything and fuss at everybody. He knew how to get a good groove and hold it down."

If health woes slowed down his pace, it was only in comparison to the enormous output he produced in the '70s and '80s. He played sessions regularly, including one for one of Rod Stewart's "Great American Songbook" albums, and continued to record.

Sample realized California no longer held any professional benefit for him, so he returned home, settling in the Clear Lake area nearly a decade ago. Here he performed numerous charity events for his Joe Sample Youth Organization and also Our Mother of Mercy, the Catholic elementary school he had attended.

Returned to roots

Being back home turned Sample's creative attention back to his roots, also. Henderson was playing an old Jazz Crusaders album and reached out to Sample. Sample then formed his Creole Joe Band, going back to the first sounds that captured his attention as a kid in the Fifth Ward, mesmerized by the enormous sound produced by Chenier and his band. Sample labored but quickly learned his way around the accordion, an instrument that was new to him, but a music that was inside him.

"You have to have the feel of the music," he said. "If you don't feel this music, you won't ever be able to perform it."

Sample is survived by his wife, Yolanda, and his son, Nicklas. His family posted news of Sample's passing on Facebook, but no cause of death was given. Sample had suffered heart attacks in 1994 and 2009.

Chris Brown Urges Ray Rice: Get Help Now!

Back in 2009 he physically assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna and in the years since the incident, Chris Brown has had a long and difficult road to recovery.

The “Don’t Wake Me Up” singer told MTV News that in light of the Ray Rice video, in which the former NFL player threw a knock-out punch at his now-wife, he hopes to offer some helpful advice.

Chris begins, “I think it’s all about the choices you do make. With me, I deal with a lot of anger issues from my past, just not knowing how to express myself verbally, but at the same time not knowing how to cope with my emotions and deal with them and understand what they were.”

“Help is great. You know, I still talk to my therapist twice a week. So for me it helps me to… vent and say what I am going through.”

As for Mr. Rice’s case, Brown notes, “For anybody going through it, it’s all about how you push forward and how you control yourself.”

Phaedra Parks Divorcing Apollo While He’s Locked Up At Kentucky Correctional Facility

It looks like it’s officially a wrap for Phaedra and Apollo now that the real housewife is preparing to file for divorce. According to reports, Phaedra is set to serve her money hungry hubby who recently checked into a Kentucky penitentiary with papers. Phaedra reportedly waited till Apollo was locked up to officially file because she “feared for her safety.”

She won’t be standing by her man. Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks will be filing for divorce from jailbird husband Apollo Nida, as he begins his eight year prison sentence, and already has had the legal documents prepared, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

“Phaedra has been patiently waiting for Apollo to begin serving his prison sentence, and will have him served with divorce papers at the correctional facility in Kentucky,” a source told Radar.

“There was no way Phaedra was going to put her life on hold for the next decade, awaiting Apollo to be released.

The marriage was a huge mistake, but did give her their beloved kids.There were serious trust issues with Apollo, and Phaedra suspects he has been unfaithful, and has been burning through money. Phaedra has always been the breadwinner, and she began to resent it.”

Fearing for her safety had “prevented Phaedra from filing for divorce in the past. Having Apollo behind bars gives Phaedra a huge level of comfort and security. t’s sad that it came to this, but Phaedra knows it’s the right thing for her to do,” the insider added.

Parks’ rep Steve Honig previously told Radar, “Phaedra is now putting all of her energy into ensuring the well-being of her two children and making decisions that are in their best interests.

This situation has put a tremendous strain on Phaedra and her family, and she is working hard to bring back a sense of normalcy to everyone’s lives.”

Honig declined to comment on the divorce.

Saturday night's Floyd Mayweather Vs Marcos Maidana Fight was star studded as expected.  And we've got who was sitting ringside to catch Money Mayweather nab his 47th win. While his entrance was much more subtle this time around--entering with only his close team and bodyguards, no Bieber or the like--it didn't stop Floyd Mayweather from walking away with another belt, another championship (a 116-111 win), and a guaranteed $32 million.

Oh, and a bitten hand, allegedly.  During round 8, Floyd went off accusing oppnent Marcos Maidana of biting his hand...through the glove.  Marcos denied it and the ref carried on:

Venus And Serena Not Speaking To Each Other? 

Insiders claim once close sisters Venus and Serena Williams are barely speaking to each other these days.

According to NY Post Page Six:

Tennis insiders are whispering that Serena Williams’ partying has caused an icy rift between her and her sister, Venus Williams.

The tennis champs have not been seen together off the court in recent weeks, and many wonder if Serena’slate nights out and disappointing doubles performances have annoyed the more low-key Venus.

An insider was heard during the US Open claiming, “They’re not in a good place right now. Venus is angry with Serena,” because of her active social life off the court.

Some noticed Venus and Serena didn’t arrive together or even speak to each other at the Taste of Tennis kickoff event for the US Open a few weeks ago.

“There was no acknowledgment that either one was even there,” said one.

The sisters lost in the US Open women’s doubles quarterfinals after they had to pull out at Wimbledon, where Serena developed a mysterious illness. They’d also declined to appear together at a mandatory press conference after losing at the US Open.
