#Empire: Taraji P. Henson sells four bedroom Mediterranean-inspired Los Angeles villa for $2.35 million
Taraji P. Henson sold her four-bedroom four-bathroom Mediterranean-style mansion for $2.35 million after two and a half years on the housing market, the sale secured following the drop in price from $3.25 million.
The magnificent property was every inch the home of a movie star with its intimate private cinema, impressive 600-bottle wine cellar, celebrity-style dressing room and generous-sized jacuzzi set in the plush gardens surrounding the building as well as a home gym.
Set in the astonishing Beachwood Canyon area, the 4000-square-foot opulent stone villa stood out with its four swanky balconies and huge airy windows as well as astonishing views of the bustling Los Angeles city — home to a whole galaxy of Hollywood's elite.

A massive wine cellar, arguably a stand alone selling point of the property, can be found on the second floor and holds as many as 600 bottles — perfect for storing all the beverages for sensational extravaganzas attended by the great and the good of the showbiz world.
There is a equally large kitchen to accompany the wine storage which has a walk-in pantry, a double fridge and lots of cupboard space as well as a centre-island to ensure cooking for large parties is smooth sailing and without any difficulties.
Also there is an intimate bar space for homeowners and guests alike which brought a sophisticated vibe to the open living space thanks to the lavish clean marble surface, chic cream stools and two wooden shelves to store more wine glasses.
The marvelous staircase — which can be found in a grand hallway complete with cream sofas and a transparent coffee table — led to the celebrity-style dressing room, the astonishing master bedroom, three guest bedrooms, a small office and a family room on the top floor.
Inside the A-list dressing room sat a glorious vanity table, mirrors adorned with a series of light bulbs around their frames to ensure there was enough light in the space and a seating area with a cream sofa, coffee table and arm chair as well as mirrored wardrobes built into the inside wall.
Also a lavish addition to the dressing room included a huge walk-in shoe wardrobe which could certainly rival that of Sex and the City's fictional leading lady Carrie Bradshaw and would be a fitting space for every belle in the fashion spheres.
And if that wasn't persuasive enough — the modern-style master bedroom featured a king size bed set out on a stylish rug, a gorgeous metallic framed mirror and a statement fireplace as well as terrific views overlooking Los Angeles from the private balcony.
Although the guest rooms offered slightly smaller spaces, they were decorative in the same elegant fashion with sumptuous artwork, a king size bed and two luxurious foot stools.
The four bedrooms were accompanied with equally extravagant bathrooms, with a zen vibe thanks to the candlesticks which lined the extraordinary marble bath and there was also a shower if preferred as well as opulent marble sinks with massive mirrors to offer the best reflections.
#MusicNews: Peabo Bryson Is Ready to 'Stand for Love' on New Album Coming Aug. 3
Peabo Bryson, whose hit-filled catalog includes “A Whole New World (Aladdin’s Theme),” “Feel the Fire,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Tonight I Celebrate My Love,” is back with his 21st studio album. Stand for Love arrives Aug. 3 and will feature Bryson’s current single “Love Like Yours and Mine” (No. 12 this week on Billboard’s R&B Songs tally) and “All She Wants to Do Is Me” (which premiered earlier this year on Showtime’s The Chi).
Stand for Love finds the Grammy Award-winning R&B/pop icon teaming with longtime hitmakers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. He is also signed to the songwriting/production duo’s Perspective Records, distributed by Caroline.
In a statement announcing his impending release, Bryson said, “Music is my passion and when it feels right, like ‘Stand For Love’ does, the whole world has an opportunity to experience the same energy. All of the right elements fell into place for this project and I challenged Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis to make me current…while maintaining the integrity of what I have built as an important body of work.”
Added Jam & Lewis in a joint statement, “Peabo is just one of the greatest voices of our time. He exudes a class and sophistication that’s so needed in music today.”
Beyond the two aforementioned songs and the title track, Stand for Love features these six additional selections: “Looking for Sade,”, “Goosebumps (Never Lie),” “Exotic,” “Here for You,” “Smile” and a live medley of Bryson classics: “Feel the Fire,” “I’m So into You” and “Tonight I Celebrate My Love.” The album is now available for pre-order here

#HipHopNews: Pusha T's "King Push" Renamed "DAYTONA" Ahead Of Release
On the heels of Pusha T calling his long-awaited album “flawless,” Def Jam officially announced it will drop on Friday (May 25). The LP was originally titled King Push but has now been renamed as DAYTONA.
In a series of tweets, Pusha explained why he changed the title of the album and the meaning of the Daytona name.
“I changed the album title from ‘King Push’ to ‘DAYTONA’ because I felt it didn’t represent the overall message of this body of work,” he wrote. “‘DAYTONA’ represents the fact that I have the luxury of time. That luxury only comes when u have a skill set that your confident in.”
Def Jam’s album press release also cleared up months of speculation about the project, revealing Kanye West contributed to a song titled “What Would Meek Do?” in addition to producing the LP. Rick Ross is the only other guest, appearing on “Hard Piano.”
Daytona’s arrival will coincide with the release of exclusive new merchandise designed by Cali Thornhill Dewitt on KingPush.com. Dewitt previously worked with West to design the Pablo merchandise collection.

Idris Elba To Direct & Star In ‘The Hunchback Of Notre Dame’ Remake At Netflix
Idris Elba will direct, produce and star in Netflix’s remake of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.”
Via Deadline:The story follows Quasimodo, a hunchback, who falls for a gypsy, Esmeralda. There have been a number of film and television adaptations to this book including the Disney animated feature which was released in 1996.
Elba, who is known in the music scene as DJ Big Driis, will also produce the film’s music. Fred Berger and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones of Automatik are producing the project with and Elba and Ana Garanito for Elba’s Green Door shingle.
Kim Kardashian Sends Huge Bouquet Of Flowers To Chrissy Teigen Following The Birth Of Second Baby
That’s what friends are for. Kim Kardashian decided to both congratulate and welcome friend Chrissy Teigen’s new bundle of joy in absolute style. The reality TV star, business mogul and pop culture’s most notorious woman sent her bestie a huge bouquet of roses.
The bouquet was so massive that it was actually larger than Teigen’s firstborn, Luna, who just turned 2.
Teigen, who is married to John Legend, joked about going into the potpourri business once the massive amount of roses she currently has in her home die off.
Though the baby boy wasn’t due until June, he came a bit early and was born on May 16, 2018. The baby’s name is Miles Theodore Stephens.
Kardashian even threw her friend a lovely, surprise baby shower on April 28th.
When discussing the name choice for their second child, Legend explained that all of their children will have some type of reference to music or musical history within the fabric of their names.
Luna’s middle name is Simone after the incomparable Nina Simone and Miles is named after the jazz legend Miles Davis.
Teigen and Legend have been open and upfront about their struggles to conceive their children. They had been trying for years before they decided to go with IVF.
They managed to come up with three viable implanted embryos, the first didn’t take, the second was Luna and the third was Miles.
While they have been open about their methods in conceiving, they haven’t been completely transparent on whether they will try for more children or if two is enough.
They will likely have to go through another round of IVF to see if they get any more embryos. For now, they are likely enjoying their new little bundle of joy and soaking up all the ways he’s changing every single day.

Donald Glover In Talks For ‘Black Panther 2’
Donald Glover may be headed to Wakanda. The actor-rapper is reportedly in talks to join the cast of Black Panther 2.
According to Metro.co.uk, director Ryan Coogler is in “informal talks” with Glover to play a new character in the sequel to Disney and Marvel’s blockbuster.
“Ryan Coogler is currently mapping out Black Panther‘s sequel and has written in a number of new characters that movie-goers will be introduced to when it premieres,” says an insider. “One of those characters, if he gets his wish, will be played by Childish Gambino. Nothing is set in stone but ‘informal talks’ [are happening] between Ryan, Gambino, and reps from Marvel and Disney to see if they can make it happen.”
It’s unclear if Michael B. Jordan’s character, Erik Killmonger, will return. Instead, Glover may fill in as a villain. “They’re still yet to decide if Michael B. Jordan will return in some capacity, but if he doesn’t it’s likely Gambino may play some kind of villain,” adds the source.
The 34-year-old Glover stars as Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story, which opens in theaters Friday (May 25). He is also set to voice Simba in the upcoming Lion King reboot.

Morgan Freeman Accused of Inappropriate Behavior, Harassment by 8 Women in CNN Investigation
Morgan Freeman has been accused of sexual harassment and inappropriate comments and behavior by eight different women, according to a new investigation from CNN.
The Oscar winner’s alleged inappropriate behavior occurred on-set with female members of the production staff, with employees at Revelations Entertainment (the production company the 80-year-old started in 1996 with business partner Lori McCreary) — and with reporters.
Freeman’s reps did not immediately respond to request for comment and didn’t comment in the CNN article.
One of the women, who was working as a production assistant at the time, accused Freeman of frequently touching her and making unwanted comments about her appearance in 2015, during the filming of Going in Style. She spoke anonymously to the outlet.
“It was constant comments about the way I looked,” she told CNN.
The woman, who was in her 20s at the time and has since left the film industry, detailed one incident where Freeman allegedly “kept trying to lift my skirt up” and asked “if I was wearing underwear.” She went on to claim that Freeman only stopped once his costar Alan Arkin told him to.
Another woman, who worked as a senior member of the production staff on his film Now You See Me, accused Freeman of sexually harassing her female assistant multiple times. She also spoke anonymously.
The woman told CNN that whenever the actor was on set, the women knew “not to wear any top that would show our breasts, not to wear anything that should show our bottoms, meaning not wearing clothes that [were] fitted.”
When asked by CNN why many of the women chose not to report the alleged incidents, the women said they did not want to lose their jobs.
The co-author of the investigation, CNN entertainment reporter Chloe Melas, also alleged that Freeman had made inappropriate comments to her when she interviewed him at a press junket for Going in Style, while she was pregnant and working at CNN.
She claimed the actor looked her up and down while remarking, “I wish I was there” and telling her, “You are ripe.”
Melas said she reported his behavior to CNN‘s human resources department who contacted the film’s studio, Warner Bros. According to Melas, the company “could not corroborate the account because only of of Freeman’s remarks was on the video.”
Wynton Marsalis Tries to Clarify After Fans Blast Him for Saying Rap is More Damaging Than Confederate Statues
People are sure mad at Wynton Marsalis. That’s because he said hip-hop is just as damaging to Black people as having confederate statues erected throughout the United States.
He made that statement during an interview on the “Cape Up” podcast, and he’s held that position since the mid-80s.
But unlike the 1980s, his words didn’t echo through social media like they do today, so he received all kinds of backlash on his Twitter and Facebook page.
“You said rap is more damaging than confederate statues? How many successful Black men and women are there because of rap?” one person wrote. “How many jobs has rap created for all races? Keep your opinions to yourself. Nobody cares what you think. Crabs in a barrel. SMH.”
“I know you didn’t mean what you said about rap music,” wrote another. “You know that de jure/de facto racist policies do much more substantive damage than any form of entertainment. We don’t need to get into the drug filled and often violent lives of your jazz heroes. Just do better next time.”
On Wednesday (May 23), Marsalis responded to the backlash and said while he maintains his position that much of rap music is harmful to Black people, he didn’t mean to speak badly of the whole genre.
“To dismiss an entire form would indicate ignorance and refusal to accept fact,” he wrote on Facebook. “To question the mainstreaming of explicit adult content should not be considered irrational, prejudiced, close minded or high minded. It is a normal question that anyone with kids or who is just concerned about the general cultural atmosphere is forced to ask.”
“A number of (NOT ALL) hip hop musicians have gone on record saying that the marketplace and the industry encourages them to make their material more commercial by adding violent and profanity laced, materialistic and over-the-top stereotypical images and concepts to their work. Discussing the corrosive influence of hip-hop culture on Black culture,” added Marsalis. “They too know that this mythology reinforces destructive behavior at home and influences the world’s view of the Afro American in a decidedly negative direction.”
Marsalis also said the social media attacks against him were unwarranted, because he didn’t mention a rapper by name and only spoke generally, not specifically. Plus, he had a problem with how many Black people came at him.
“When [people] lose the right to critique — especially inside of groups we belong to and have to accept mob rule — it is a step back towards slavery,” he wrote.
So far, the backlash has come from the general listening public and not rappers themselves, but their responses could be forthcoming.
Until then, Marsalis doesn’t seem like he’ll change his position any since he continued to blast the people who listen to rap and share it with their children.
“So far as the pornographic products and the minstrel show ghetto routines that are very popular, I can only say, the people have spoken. ‘We want to consume these products and want them for our kids,'” he wrote. “It is people’s right to choose this, as it is mine to express my thoughts and perhaps dissuade some from the specific products to which I refer. I accept the will of the people as what it is but don’t change my opinion of the products I’m talking about.”

Angela Bassett Receives Honorary Degree From Yale
Angela Bassett is adding the title of “doctor” her list of accomplishments. On Monday (May 21st), the “Black Panther” actress received her third degree from Yale University. Bassett took to Instagram and Twitter posting a touching video of her accepting her honorary doctorate degree during the commencement ceremony. She wrote,

Bassett, 59, is one out of ten recipients this semester to receive the honorary degree. Popular astrophysicist, media personality and “Astrophysics For People In A Hurry” author Neil deGrasse Tyson, also received a degree alongside Bassett.
She graduated from the university in 1980, with a Bachelors in African American Studies and returned in 1983, obtaining Master of Fine Arts degree from the Yale School of Drama.
Bassett is best known for her biographical film roles, most notably her performance as Tina Turner in the biopic “What’s Love Got to Do with It” (1993), for which she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress and won a corresponding Golden Globe Award. Bassett has additionally portrayed Betty Shabazz in both “Malcolm X” (1992) and “Panther” (1995), Katherine Jackson in “The Jacksons: An American Dream” (1992), Rosa Parks in “The Rosa Parks Story” (2002), Voletta Wallace in “Notorious” (2009) and Coretta Scott King in “Betty and Coretta” (2013). Bassett’s performance as Parks was honored with her first Primetime Emmy Award nomination. Bassett has starred in four seasons of Murphy’s hit show American Horror Story — “Coven,” “Freak Show,” “Hotel” and “Roanoke.”
Olivia Munn Responds to Rumors That She Is to Blame for Aaron Rodgers’ Family Drama
Don’t blame Olivia Munn! The actress spoke candidly about her relationship with her ex-boyfriend Aaron Rodgers for the first time and responded to the reports that she was the reason he allegedly has a strained relationship with his family.
“I have kind of avoided speaking about him for a long time,” Munn, 37, began in a Wednesday, May 23, interview with Andy Cohen on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy. “Before I go on a talk show, you know, he’d be like, ‘Yeah, you can say something about me if you want.’ And it was like, I didn’t normally talk about relationships and those things, and he actually didn’t mind it, or kind of liked it.”
Munn and Rodgers, 34, split in April 2017 after three years of dating. A source previously told Us Weekly that the NFL quarterback’s rift with his family was partly due to his relationship with the Newsroom star. A second insider told Us that at the time of the split Rodgers still wasn’t speaking to his family.
Cohen asked Munn about the family drama, which made headlines after his brother Jordan appeared — and subsequently won — season 12 of The Bachelorette in 2016. The Green Bay Packers star was noticeably absent from Jordan’s hometown date with JoJo Fletcher, which included his parents, Edward and Darla, and oldest brother, Luke.
“I met one brother, the one who was on The Bachelorette, Jordan. I was friendly with Jordan,” she explained. “I met the parents only a couple times, and before he and I started dating, he hadn’t spoken to the parents and one brother for like eight months.”
“I remember my last day on The Newsroom … I spent the last day in my trailer, just encouraging him to have an honest conversation with your parents,” Munn continued. “And they had a nice conversation and they started coming out, my first year when I was in Green Bay in 2014 and then, um…”
“It just went South?” Cohen said. “You tried.” Munn did not get into the specifics of what happened between her ex and his family, but implied that it had something to do with fame and football.
“I just think it’s really important to try to mend things in a family, and I encourage that … I do believe that family and fame and success can be really complicated if they’re dreams are connected to your success,” Munn said. “His father played football and is a sports chiropractor … They’re all in sports, and Aaron is one of the best, if not the best, quarterback to ever play the game. Their work has a direct connection to what he does.”
She continued: “At the end of their day there’s a lot of complications. I don’t think either side of the road is clean. But I do think it’s not OK when you try to stand on someone’s shoulders and then throw dirt in their face, which is what I think they did with him.”
In April Munn moved on from Rodgers with Spanish actor Alex Gonzalez. The football pro, for his part, started dating Danica Patrick in January. The Office Christmas Party actress told Cohen that her and Rodgers are “not really” in touch since the split.
HSN/QVC Exec Revealed Celebrity Email Addresses in Contentious Memo
An exec at HSN/QVC sent out a company-wide email this week telling their on-air talent to cut back on their “used car salesman” schtick and if that wasn’t bad enough … he didn’t BCC the recipients, meaning the email addresses of several major celebrities went out company-wide. 🤦♀️🤦♂️
Sources who’ve seen the email tell The Blast that the addresses of celebrities like Reba McEntire, Diddy, Curtis Stone and a ton more were plainly visible and accessible in the email. We’re told that those who work on the celebrity accounts were so furious that the information was sent out, that they started replying all to the email chain. Can you imagine if Diddy replied all?
The recent merger between HSN/QVC gave the conglomerate a ton of star power. Everyone from Ellen DeGeneres to Sheryl Crow to Wendy Williams to Jessica Simpson to Martha Stewart has lines within the company. The email, which was sent by Gordie Daniels, was a new set of guidelines for on-air talent (because Ellen really needs television guidance) and the advice was *not* delivered well.
“I want everyone to take the used car salesman, in your face delivery and throw it out if this pertains to you,” the email read. In addition to the internal backlash to the email, Page Six is reporting that several celebs, who the email was directed at, were livid about the rude and condescending tone.
Daniels is the on-air casting and training manager and talent development expert and, according to his LinkedIn profile, is a self-described “master communicator and organizer.”
Maybe not so much on that last part.
The president of HSN/QVC has since issued an apology (and probably remembered to BCC.)
