DeShawn Snow, an original castmate on Bravo’s breakthrough reality hit “The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ in 2008, was hit with a civil lawsuit accusing her of fraud surpassing $157,000. Snow, who lasted just one season on the show, is a real estate agent. The plaintiff is Thrivest, a company that offers cash advances for not-yet-completed real estate commissions, according to the lawsuit filed August 27 in the U.S. District Court Northern District of Georgia Atlanta division. The lawsuit said “Snow’s expenditures outpaced her ability to earn funds as a real estate agent.”
She then allegedly attempted to sell a diamond brokering commission to Thrivest, but the lawsuit said “Snow’s commodity related deals were dubious and she never earned the commission she was selling in exchange for the advance.” Thrivest gave her company DSE Holdings $157,895.74 from the supposed commission of $746,859.96 for the spot purchase of 22,632.12 carats of diamonds. But the deal fell through and the lawsuit claims it was “a sham, meant only to provide Snow with a basis to secure another advance to fund her lifestyle.”The money, the lawsuit stated, was not used for any legitimate purposes of DSE Holdings but spent by Snow to pay off personal debts and other expenses not related to DSE Holdings. “Subsequent to obtaining the advance from Thrivest, DSE Holdings ceased conducting any apparent business activity,” the lawsuit said. Last year, DSE Holdings consented to an arbitration awards of $264,129.37 but Thrivest did not receive compensation, leading to this lawsuit..
The lawsuit said Thrivest is owed $345,000 in compensatory damages and another $1 million in punitive damages. Snow, in a statement, called it a “bogus lawsuit to harass me and discredit my name and good standing within the business community. The company's contention that I committed fraud is a bald-face attempt to paint a picture of artifice and deceit where none exist and I dispute their assertions.”She added: “Because of my celebrity, the company not only hopes to come after me personally, but also threaten my business relationships as well as generate unwanted and unpleasant media exposure.”Snow said she plans to file a counterclaim for defamation “and will use the resources available to me to fight this lawsuit to the fullest extent of the law.”

In the scene, Jennie hears something in her backyard and thinks it's her stalker. After her sexy bodyguard decides it's nothing, he tells her he'll be reassigned by the network soon because she's not having any new stalker threats.
That's when they bring up "Empire." "There hasn't been any new stalker threats so FOX wants to move me," he tells Jennie. "I heard there's some issues with Empire."
Blink and you might miss it, but it clearly addresses the issues "Empire" was having even before the actor's alleged assault hoax.
As reported, two days before the alleged attack on Smollett, a letter containing white powder was sent to the set of "Empire." The substance was later determined to be aspirin.
Smollett described the letter during his "Good Morning America" interview with Robin Roberts, saying, "It had a stick figure hanging from a tree with a gun pointing toward it with the words that says Smollett Jussie, you will die."

The 12th solo album from Earth Wind and Fire’s lead singer underscores his octave-spanning falsetto with generation-crossing, jazz-heavy support. The A-list collaborators include Chick Corea, Kamasi Washington and Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah alongside drummers Steve Gadd and Kendrick Scott. With pianist Robert Glasper heavily involved in production, the jazz influence goes deeper than the instrumental breaks which embellish most tracks.
The set begins with a West-African-flavoured reimagining of Curtis Mayfield’s shooting tragedy “Billy Jack”. A second Mayfield cover, the upbeat “We’re a Winner”, delivers cruise-control funk two tracks in and plays out as a duet with vocalist Bilal. Vocalist Phillip Bailey captures Mayfield’s falsetto phrasing on the theme, then toasts over zippy brass and dense vocal harmonies as the tracks play out. Later, a tribute to Marvin Gaye, “Just to Keep You Satisfied”, is technically astute, but overblown.
Two songs feature extended instrumental breaks with Bailey in a supporting role. “Stairway to the Stars”, a throbbing percussion-heavy production from will.i.am, is an ebullient showcase for trumpeter Scott while the cover of Pharaoh Sanders’ spiritual “Sacred Sounds” is infused with the energy of Kamasi Washington’s tenor sax. And the funky jazz waltz “Long as You’re Living”, first sung by Abbey Lincoln with legendary modern jazz drummer Max Roach, is propelled by the mighty bass of Christian McBride.
Elsewhere, pianist Chick Corea graces the summery love song “You’re Everything” and Talking Heads’ “Once in a Lifetime” features Bailey’s half-spoken dialogue with layers of brass, vocal harmonies and falsetto scat. The Glasper-produced “Brooklyn Blues” is a magical showcase for Bailey’s kalimba, and even here Bailey is unfazed by his A-list jazz support.
The album closes with the title track, a lushly arranged power ballad combining enriched Earth Wind and Fire-style vocal harmonies and Casey Benjamin’s contemporary vocoder and alto sax. The arrangement is lush, the romance full-on and the juxtaposition of Bailey’s soul-soaked falsetto with Benjamin’s doctored voice segues immaculately.

NFL free agent defensive end Ryan Russell came out as bisexual on Thursday in a powerful, personal essay for ESPN.
In the essay, as told by ESPN's Kevin Arnovitz, Russell described the regret that came with not revealing his whole self during a recent interview with a team. "This is the last time I will ever interview for a job as anything other than my full self," Russell said. "Out of love, admiration, and respect, I want the next team to sign me valuing me for what I do and knowing who I truly am."
He continued: "My truth is that I'm a talented football player, a damn good writer, a loving son, an overbearing brother, a caring friend, a loyal lover, and a bisexual man.
Today, I have two goals: returning to the NFL, and living my life openly. I want to live my dream of playing the game I've worked my whole life to play, and being open about the person I've always been."
Russell was a fifth-round draft pick by the Dallas Cowboys in 2015. He has played three seasons in the NFL, one in Dallas and two more with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In 2017, he appeared in 14 games for the Buccaneers, starting in seven of them, finishing the year with 17 tackles and two sacks.
Russell wants to change the lack of active pro athletes in major sports who are openly LGBTQ
Russell said that his decision to come out as bisexual came in part because there is currently not any out athletes in the four major sports leagues in America. "I want to change that," Russell said. "For me, for other athletes who share these common goals, and for the generations of LGBTQ athletes who will come next."
Russell also described an incident involving a writer that figured out he was in a relationship with another man and the stress that came with keeping his sexuality a secret.
"I panicked, then wrote back, reminding him that there were implications about his actions he didn't fully understand," Russell said. "If the blogger outed me, I was sure that would kill my career, one that was supporting not just me, but my mother and grandfather. He'd eradicate a childhood dream that was the product of years of work and sacrifice."
While the blogger eventually agreed not to out Russell, the experience was jarring.
"Nobody should need a favor to live honestly," Russell said. "In nobody's worlds should being careful mean not being yourself. The career you choose shouldn't dictate the parts of yourself that you embrace."

Alex Trebek Is Back For Season 36 Of ‘Jeopardy!’!👏👏
Alex Trebek is back! The host of the iconic quiz show Jeopardy! has returned for the 36th season five months after being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and undergoing chemotherapy.
In a video posted today, Trebek said he is glad the chemotherapy is over that he is “on the mend.” The video has him talking about the Jeopardy! wizard James Holzhauer and the latest champ Jason Zuffranieri. We also see him interacting with the audience and backstage at Jeopardy! The show is currently taping its 36th season.
“We’ve got some exciting things coming up, and I can’t wait to share them with all of you,” said Trebek in the video. “Let me tell you, it’s going to be a good year.”
In March, the longtime Jeopardy! host revealed that he was diagnosed with cancer in a video clip and was determined to fight it — that he did. Trebek has supplied the answers on Jeopardy! since it debuted in syndication in 1984. The popular game show is renewed through the 2022-23 season.
The news comes after it was announced that Mike Richards, veteran executive producer of The Price is Right and Let’s Make A Deal, will take the reins of Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune when the shows’ longtime EP/showrunner Harry Friedman departs next year.
The new season of Jeopardy! premieres September 9.

Sasha Obama set to begin college career at University of Michigan!📚
Ann Arbor — Former President Barack Obama's younger daughter, Sasha, is poised to begin her college career at the University of Michigan next week.
Sasha, whose legal name is Natasha, was seen by students attending summer freshman orientation and again this week accompanied by men believed to be Secret Service agents.
"I was walking by pushing a vacuum and she walked out right in front of me," said Zach Lassen, a third-year film student from Redford. "I said, 'Excuse me.' It was a crowded hallway with her and some Secret Service dudes."
Asked what he thought about her on campus, he said some people he worked with were a tad annoyed with the added security.
But Lassen added: "It's pretty cool." Another student, an 18-year-old freshman from Southfield who declined to be named, said Wednesday she saw Obama during her student orientation.
The woman, who was in UM’s Summer Bridge Scholars Program at the time, said she saw Obama near the university’s undergraduate library.
She said they have mutual friends and said she's just "a normal student to me."
Sasha Obama is enrolled for classes that start Tuesday, The Detroit News has learned, which puts her on a path different from her family members: attending a public Big Ten university instead of seeking an Ivy League education.
Her sister, Malia Obama, took a gap year in 2016 before enrolling at Harvard University, where her parents attended law school. Malia Obama begins her third year at Harvard this fall.
Speculation about the youngest Obama becoming a Wolverine began after an Instagram social media account attributed to her posted a photo of Sasha and two friends on the Ann Arbor campus. She tagged UM and wrote: "So proud to say I’m going to college with my sisters!!”
UM has a publicly searchable online directory, MCommunity, and a group was created, then disabled, with the name of Natasha Obama, also known as Sasha Obama. Any UM student, staff member or faculty member can create a group in the directory, UM spokesman Rick Fitzgerald said.
Asked why it had been created, Fitzgerald said it is a disabled email group account, not an individual account. The group was deleted from the database shortly after The News asked about it.
"This group was created in January, perhaps spurred by media reports of Sasha Obama visiting our campus," Fitzgerald said. "Faculty, staff and students all have the ability to create group accounts in MCommunity. The group is disabled and is in the process of being deleted. Thanks for bringing it to my attention."
Asked if Obama is enrolled at UM, Fitzgerald declined to comment.
"We cannot confirm the enrollment of any student," he said. "Classes do not start until next week, and we are weeks away from official enrollment information."
Caroline Adler Morales, a spokeswoman for Michelle Obama, declined to comment Wednesday.
New resident move-in for UM students was scheduled for Wednesday through Friday, but a handful of students were on campus Tuesday when Lassen says he bumped into the younger Obama.
Many who were walking around campus said they hadn't seen her but were excited.
Inside West Quad, a group of students gathered from MLEAD, a week-long leadership program for incoming and returning undergrads living in UM housing. They said they had seen official cars driving around the dorm and wondered if it meant Obama was in town.
Allie McCrum, a UM sophomore from Parma, Michigan, said she was excited that the former president's daughter planned to attend, calling it an "opportunity for all of us."
Jessica Brinser, a sophomore from Washington, Michigan, agreed.
"I think it's cool that even though her family went to Ivy League schools, she decided that UM was the caliber high enough to match that of an Ivy League school," she said.
Brinser wishes Obama well.
"We hope she finds her fit here just like we all have," she said. "We all love it here. We hope she does, too."

Ed Sheeran is taking a break from music and his fans are worried it'll turn out like One Direction, where he won't come back.
The "Cross Me" singer made the announcement this week during his last show on the Divide Tour in Ipswich, England, on Monday night.
"As you may or not know, I’ve been on the Divide tour for over two years now and this is the last day of the whole thing,” Sheeran told the crowd during the show.
"There is something very bittersweet about it. I love that you guys are here and we are ending it in Ipswich," he said. "This is my last gig for probably 18 months.”
In the past two years, Sheeran and his crew have played every major concert arena around the world.
"We’ve played all around the world. Glastonbury, Wembley Stadium,” the singer continued. “All these amazing venues, America, New Zealand, Australia, Asia, South America — it’s been a wild one."
He said this tour marked one of his greatest accomplishments.

Thrill-Seekers Get Ready, Six Flags Has A New Record-Breaking Roller Coaster Coming In 2020!🙌
It’s the ride daredevils, and thrill-seekers have been waiting for. Six Flags Great Adventure announced Thursday that it will be debuting the record-breaking ‘Jersey Devil’ Coaster in 2020.
Great Adventure’s ‘Jersey Devil’ is not for the faint of hearts, it will soar passengers to a height of 13 stories and reach speeds of up to 58 miles per hour while zipping riders seated single-file through “foreboding woods” along more than 3,000 feet of track. ‘Jersey Devil’ is claimed to be the tallest, fastest and longest single-rail roller coaster in the world.
“Six Flags Great Adventure is home to the best and most innovative roller coasters on the planet, and we are thrilled to expand our unrivaled collection with the Jersey Devil Coaster,” said park president John Winkler in a statement.
The ‘Jersey Devil’ coaster is said to have been inspired by infamous New Jersey mythology and is described as a demonic, winged creature with a horse’s head and a forked tail. It has allegedly stalked the wooded haunts of the southern part of the Garden State for centuries, according to reports by the Asbury Park Press.
The record-breaking roller coaster is Six Flags Great Adventure’s 14th roller coaster, featuring an initial 87-degree drop.

Apple Apologizes For Listening To Customers’ Siri Audio Recordings, Company Announces Privacy Changes!😡
Tech giant Apple has issued a formal apology after the company admitted to having human contractors secretly listen to customers’ recordings with the digital assistant Siri, in order to improve the service. “We realize we haven’t been fully living up to our high ideals, and for that, we apologize,” Apple’s statement reads.
In the apology, the company revealed its new privacy policy: “First, by default, we will no longer retain audio recordings of Siri interactions. We will continue to use computer-generated transcripts to help Siri improve. Second, users will be able to opt in to help Siri improve by learning from the audio samples of their requests. We hope that many people will choose to help Siri get better, knowing that Apple respects their data and has strong privacy controls in place. Those who choose to participate will be able to opt-out at any time. Third, when customers opt-in, only Apple employees will be allowed to listen to audio samples of the Siri interactions. Our team will work to delete any recording which is determined to be an inadvertent trigger of Siri,” the statement read.
Apple isn’t the first company to be caught invading its customers’ privacy using human contractors; they are joined by Google, Amazon, Facebook, and Microsoft. According to the Guardian, the hired contractors had access to recordings that included full private details, which were often caused by accidental Siri triggers. Workers reportedly were listening to up to 1,000 recordings a day. That report led to Apple announcing it would suspend the grading program that analyzes those recordings. “We are committed to delivering a great Siri experience while protecting user privacy,” an Apple spokesperson said in a statement to The Verge at the time.
Apple still plans to continue grading its Siri recordings under the new policies later year. Customers will then be able to decide if they want to be recorded.
