#RHOA: Nene Leakes Considering Selling Her Georgia Lounge Amid Son's Recovery From Stroke

Nene Leakes has had a rough couple of years. Last year, The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum lost her husband Gregg Leakes to colon cancer, and most recently her son Brentt tragically suffered a stroke and congestive heart failure at just 24 years old. He’s currently recovering in a rehabilitation center, which Leakes says will be a long road. Now, she’s unsure if it’s best to keep her Georgia lounge open while she’s tending to her child.

Nene's star studded lounge

Leakes opened The Linnethia Lounge in 2020 in the suburban city of Duluth. The lounge has hosted her famous friends, including Tamar Braxton, Waka Flaka, The Migos, and More. Patrons frequent the club for live entertainment, food, and industry events. She previously revealed it was a dream of her and Gregg’s to open a supper club.

Nene looking for someone to buy the place

Amid all of the personal struggles she’s dealing with, the added stress of running the business is taking its toll.

When speaking to The Larry Reid Show, Leakes explained she wants to sell it. “We have sat and talked about selling the lounge now because it’s something that Brentt runs along with me.

“We have sat and talked about selling the lounge now because it’s something that Brent runs along with me," she said.

“I got in the business with him and Gregg and some other friends to do it. And this is just a lot right now on me,” she explained, as reported by Atlanta Black Star. “So if there’s anybody out there that’s possibly interested in the lounge, send them my way if they are interested in purchasing. It’s very possible that we will sell the lounge because it is something I shared with Brent after Gregg’s passing.”

#MusicNews: Rihanna Says Super Bowl Performance Does Not Necessarily Mean New Music

Don’t hold your breath for a new Rihanna album anytime soon. Although her Super Bowl performance appeared to signal that an album was finally on the way, the singer is shutting down speculation that February’s halftime show means new music is imminent.

“That’s not true. Super Bowl is one thing. New music is another thing. Do you hear that, fans?” she told The Associated Press in an interview ahead of her “Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 4” show.

Rihanna knew that her big Super Bowl announcement would lead fans to speculate that it was album time. “The second that I announced this, I said, ‘Oh, my God, they’re going to think my album is coming. I need to get to work,'” she said.

She did confirm that she was working on a “special project,” but didn’t reveal a timeline. “I do have new music coming out. We’ll see, we’ll see. Unrelated, but a special project,” she added.

While fans anxiously await the follow-up to 2016’s Anti, Rihanna made her return to music last month with “Lift Me Up,” her first solo release in over six years and the lead single from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

During the interview, the new mom also opened up about her decision to do the Super Bowl less than a year after giving birth to her first child. “If I’m going to leave my baby, I’m going to leave my baby for something special,” she said.

Rihanna, who reportedly turned down the 2019 halftime show out of solidarity with Colin Kaepernick, said the timing was right. “It was now or never for me,” she said.

She and A$AP Rocky welcomed their son in May, but they have kept their baby’s name and photos off the internet. However, that could change soon.

“We just didn’t get around to it yet, really. We’ve just been living,” she shared. “But I guess there’s a certain freedom that comes with kind of just like getting it out there.”

#HipHopNews Migos Rapper Takeoff Funeral To Be Held At Atlanta's State Farm Arena

Less than two weeks after his untimely death, a funeral will be held for the late Migos rapper on Friday, Nov. 11 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Thousands of Takeoff’s family, friends, and fans are expected to attend the homegoing at the venue, which has a capacity of 20,000.

Rev. Jesse Curney, III, Senior Pastor of New Mercies Christian Church, will officiate the services, which will begin at 1 p.m. and feature the New Mercies choir.

“I plan to remember him as the young man that I saw grow up in the church who loved being with his family, who loved coming to worship,” Curney told V-103. “This was a son, a grandson, a brother, a nephew, a cousin–it’s family.”

Curney also addressed the tragic circumstances surrounding Takeoff’s death. “I hope that this is a wakeup call to all of us that there really needs to be some serious changes within our community,” he said.

The 28-year-old, whose real name was Kirshnik Kari Ball, was killed following a shooting outside a Houston bowling alley on Nov. 1. Police have launched an investigation into his death, but have not named a suspect. Two others were injured during the shooting, including Quavo’s assistant.

In the wake of the tragedy, the hip-hop community has shared tributes including Drake, who honored the “legendary, unprecedented” Migos MC.

“I’m sure people know how we started, of course, with ‘Versace,'” recalled Drake. “And from there we formed a brotherhood. I always talk about the fact that this is one family. My friends in the music industry are not friends, they’re family. So, our deepest condolences, tragic loss for all of us and a dark cloud over this business that we love so much.”

Drake & 21 Savage Sued Over Fake Vogue Magazine Cover Used To Promote ‘Her Loss’

It looks like Drake and 21 Savage may be in a bit of legal trouble!

Both Drake, 36, and 21 Savage, 30, have been sued by Conde Nast– the publisher of Vogue magazine– for using the Vogue name without permission to promote their new album “Her Loss.”

Drake and 21 have been promoting “Her Loss” by posing on what looks like a legitimate Vogue cover, leading fans to believe the rappers were indeed apart of a special edition Vogue cover shoot.

According to legal documents, Conde Nast said the rappers’ promotional campaign was built “entirely” on the unauthorized use of Vogue trademarks and false representations they would appear on Vogue’s next cover, with the “love and support” of longtime editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. According to the complaint filed on Monday night (Nov. 7) in Manhattan federal court,

“All of this is false. And none of it has been authorized by Conde Nast.”

Conde Nast claims Vogue and Anna Wintour “have not endorsed [“Her Loss”] in any way” and have asked multiple times for all promos using the Vogue name to be taken down, but nothing has been done. The complaint read,

“Defendants’ flippant disregard for Conde Nast’s rights have left it with no choice but to commence this action.”

Nast said the rappers also created a counterfeit issue of Vogue that was distributed in major metropolitan cities, along with posters whose layout mimicked Vogues’.

Conde Nast, also known as Advance Magazine Publishers Inc, is seeking at least $4 million in damages, or triple the defendants’ profits from their album and “counterfeit” magazine. They also want punitive damages, and an end to any trademark infringement.

Larry Stein, a lawyer for Drake and 21 Savage, declined immediate comment on Tuesday (Nov. 8), having yet to review the complaint against them.

'Saturday Night Live' Faces Intense Backlash For Having Dave Chappelle As Host

"Saturday Night Live" needs to reconsider its host, at least that's what critics say. The NBC Emmy-winning late-night comedy show is facing intense backlash for having Dave Chappelle as host following his controversial remarks about the trans community.

Over the weekend, the show announced its host through their social media accounts. "NOV 12. DAVE CHAPPELLE. BLACK STAR," the signature post-it announcement read. "next week!!!" read the caption of the post.

Shortly after the show made the announcement, numerous social media critics turned to social media to express their disappointment. Many pointed out that the production team should reconsider their decision regarding Dave's insensitive remarks about trans community in his 2021 Netflix comedy special "The Closer".

'Black Panther' Hailed As Catalyst That Changed 'Landscape' Of Film And TV Industry

Winston Duke claims the original "Black Panther" film changed the "landscape" of the film and TV industry. The 35-year-old actor - who is back as the warrior M'Baku in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) sequel "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" - says the original 2018 flick - the first Marvel blockbuster with a predominantly black cast - has had a profound effect for representation on screen.

"It's only been four years and I would say that the landscape of film and TV looks and feels radically different at the moment," Winston said when speaking at the film's European premiere in London on Thursday, November 3.

"I think what's happened as a result of the 'Black Panther' effect is that it was very permissive. It gave everyone the chance to see what is possible when you centre people that aren't part of the mainstream lens. As a result you save movies like 'Crazy Rich Asians' and tons of other movies that took off like wildfire. That's the thing about equity, equity trickles upwards."

Chris Evans Named ‘People’ Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive

Meet the newest Sexiest Man Alive: Chris Evans! Mr. Evans took the honor in stride, saying he’s excited for his mom to find out about her son being bestowed such an honor.

“My mom will be so happy,” Evans, 41, told People. “She’s proud of everything I do but this is something she can really brag about.”

He went on to say that being named Sexiest Man Alive will be something he’ll look back on when he’s grown older, and admitted it was all a bit bizarre.

“This whole thing is tough to be interviewed about,” he said. “It feels like a weird form of humble bragging…It’s something that as I become old and saggy I can look back on and say ‘I remember then…I’m lucky to be in the discussion in any capacity.”

People then followed up with Evans’ mother, Lisa, who said she was indeed proud of her son. “I am not surprised at all,” she told the outlet. “Our family will be beside themselves.”

Evans will soon reunite with his Knives Out costar Ana de Armas for a new Apple TV+ film called Ghosted, which comes out next year. In the meantime, the Captain America leading man has been hard at work relaxing.

“The most enjoyable aspect of my career right now is feeling secure enough to take my foot off the gas,” he told the magazine. “I feel like I have a bit more freedom to take time away from the industry and still find projects that will satisfy my creative appetite when I return.”

The $2 Billion Jackpot-Winning Powerball Ticket Sold In California

The Powerball drawing was delayed after one participating lottery needed more time to carry out security procedures.

Lottery officials announced Tuesday one person matched all the winning numbers to take home the $2.04 billion grand prize.

If the winner opts for the cash payout, they’ll get an estimated $997.6 million lump sum.

The lottery announced the winning ticket — which matched all five numbers plus the Powerball — was sold in California.

Another lucky person in Florida has earned a $2 million cash prize for matching five numbers, plus selecting Power Play.

Twenty-two other people in 16 states have won $1 million. Those winners are found in California, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas and Washington, according to Powerball’s official site.

Only four previous jackpots have topped $1 billion, but none of those are close to the current prize, which started at $20 million back on Aug. 6 and over three winless months has grown ever more massive.

Those who spend $2 on a Powerball ticket might wonder if something is wrong when dozens of drawings pass without a jackpot winner, but this is how the game is designed. With odds of 1 in 292 million, that means it’s unlikely anyone will win the prize until a growing jackpot attracts more players. And more ticket sales mean the lottery can raise more money for public programs, which is the point of the state lotteries.

Twitter behind a paywall? Elon is thinking about it!

Will he go through with it? PLUS: Botched layoffs, how the new Blue could lose money, and more

If Friday brought massive layoffs to Twitter, Monday brought fresh evidence that the company will never be the same. Musk has discussed putting the entire site behind a paywall, Platformer has learned. Meanwhile, the company is scrambling to lure back employees who it laid off mere hours ago, and some workers say the economics behind its soon-to-relaunch Twitter Blue subscription could actually lose the company money.

All of this took place against the backdrop of a company that still has yet to hear anything official from Musk, via email or a companywide meeting. As Monday began, after losing thousands of their colleagues days earlier, many employees didn’t know who their managers are.

Meanwhile, Musk’s increasingly erratic leadership, coupled with his habit of tweeting in eye-watering bad taste, gave many current and former employees I spoke with a sinking feeling about the future of their company.

Thief accidentally knocks himself out during Washington Louis Vuitton heist

A thief in Washington nearly made off with about $18,000 worth of designer items at a Louis Vuitton store, but he didn’t get very far. After grabbing the goods, the robber didn’t realize just how clean luxury retailers can keep their stores. The assailant ran straight into the crystal-clear glass door and knocked himself out before he could make his grand escape.

According to an article from TMZ (Nov. 8), when the 17-year-old woke up, he was already in handcuffs. The would-be robbery happened at a Bellevue, Washington Louis Vuitton store. Because the suspect is under 18 years old, his identity has not been released by authorities. In the security footage, it’s clear that the young man attempted to flee in broad daylight. TMZ added that prosecutors believe the teen is affiliated with a retail theft ring in that area of the city. This year alone, the county has faced 59 incidents of robbery.

Following the crime, Bellevue Police Captain Rob Spingler told local outlet KOMO News, “Brazen is the perfect word for it.” The captain shared that the suspect seen in the Louis Vuitton footage is believed to be working with convicted killer Billy Chambers and career thief Earnetra Turner. He noted that both have lengthy rap sheets. Spingler added, “The message is… if you come to the city of Bellevue, you commit these crimes, we’re going to put together solid cases.”

Penny Pahl, a business owner in the area, said it isn’t just large chains like Louis Vuitton being affected. “It’s just not OK, it isn’t. Something needs to be done,” she said. “We put our blood and sweat into our businesses and for someone to just be so brazen to walk into our business and take what we work our whole life for? It is taking away our livelihood,” Pahl continued.

The Bellevue Police Captain said he intends to keep the thieves off the streets. “This is all data-driven. We use our accountability and transparency dashboard, and we follow the crime wherever it goes, and we’re going to continue it as long as we need to,” Spingler shared.

Daniel Kaluuya named the newest addition to animated 'Spider-Man' sequel

Daniel Kaluuya is joining the voice cast of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, according to Deadline on Monday (Nov. 7). The publication reports the animated film is the sequel to 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which grossed over $384 million worldwide.

Kaluuya portrays super-powered New Yorker Hobart “Hobie” Brown a.k.a. “Spider-Punk.” The character was first introduced in Dan Slott and Olivier Coipel’s “The Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 3 #10” in 2015.

The actor joins an ensemble that includes Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Oscar Isaac, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Greta Lee, Issa Rae, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, Shea Whigham, and Jason Schwartzman.

Kaluuya won an Oscar for Supporting Actor in 2021 for Judas and the Black Messiah. In 2018, he was nominated for Best Actor for his role in Jordan Peele’s Get Out, and he recently collaborated with Peele on his sci-fi horror film, Nope. Other notable credits for Kaluuya on the acting front include Queen & Slim, Widows and Black Panther.

Although Kaluuya was spotted recently at the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Hollywood premiere, he will not be featured in the film. In a recent interview with CinemaBlend, director Ryan Coogler revealed why the actor’s character, W’Kabi, is not seen in the sequel. “He’s basically banished, but still within Wakanda’s borders, if that makes sense. It’s one line that refers to him still being alive,” he said.

The 33-year-old actor previously confirmed he does not appear in the film due to a scheduling conflict with his summer release, Nope. In July, he told The Hollywood Reporter about not wanting to disappoint fans. “If I said anything, people would be really disappointed. That’s how I feel about it. I think people will be disappointed. They don’t want to be spoiled. They’re surprised in whatever will happen. That’s what was amazing about the first one.”

Halle Berry’s $16K Monthly Child Support Payments to Ex Slashed in Half

Back in 2014, a court ordered Halle Berry to pay her ex, Gabriel Aubry, $16,000 in child support for their daughter Nahla, 13. Now comes word that her monthly payment has been reduced to $8,000.

Berry and Aubry currently have 50-50 joint custody of Nahla, according to E! News. Halle also shares son Maceo, 7 with actor Oliver Martinez. She is reportedly court-ordered to pay monthly support to the fathers of both of her children. Halle made payments to Aubry until 2021 when she returned to court seeking to lower the payments.

During the first nine months of 2012, the Oscar-winning actress reportedly earned $4.7 million in income while Aubry brought in $192,921 in a nine-month span that same year, according to court documents. Last year, Berry called her child support payments “extortion.”

In a post on Instagram at the time, Berry wrote, “Women don’t owe you sh*t.

The message sparked a debate in the comment section about traditional gender roles. Berry reportedly replied to her followers, “I’ve been paying it for a decade now. I feel if a woman or man is having to pay support that is way more than the reasonable needs to help SUPPORT the child, I think that is wrong!”

She continued: “I understand some parents (man or woman) may need help, but I also feel in these modern times both men and women have the responsibility to financially take care of their children and work hard and make every effort to do so.”

“The way many laws are set up, people are allowed to USE children in order to be awarded money to live a lifestyle that not only did they not earn, but that is way above and beyond the child’s reasonable needs, and that is ‘THE WRONG’ and where I see the abuse,” she said.

Kevin Hart Opens Up About Being Robbed at Gunpoint as a Kid Alongside His Mom

Kevin Hart has opened up about the time he and his late mother were victims of a robbery at gunpoint.

“Me and my mom got robbed,” the Philadelphia native revealed on the latest episode of the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast, as seen above at the 23:30 mark. “Wanna hear the crazy part? [We were] coming from a laundromat. … We got the shopping cart, I’m talking folded clothes, right, my Mom got the cart. I got my book bag, I used to go to the laundromat do the homework. My mom just carrying this little orange fanny pack, dude came out, he said, ‘Get that shit up, bitch.’ And my Mom was like, ‘No.’”

With a smile on his face, Hart, 43, reiterated that his mother Nancy outright refused to let the assailant take her belongings. “I swear to God,” he said. “Hand on the Bible, my mom said, ‘No.’ He said, ‘You think I’m fucking playing with you? Get that shit up.’ My mom was like, ‘It’s nothing in it, and no.’ I’m just standing there, I’m looking…I’m shocked that I’m looking at a gun. He snatched it off, he go through it. My mom had a bunch of tokens in there, right? Guy get mad, he throw it at my mom. ‘You broke bitch.’ He called my mama a broke bitch.”

When the man threw the fanny pack right back at her, Kevin said she told him, “I told you it was nothing in it.” He recalled how she just picked up the bag and continued on “like nothing happened.” While she was able to brush off the incident, the comedian/actor felt like he was “going to die” at that moment. “She made me push the cart the rest of the way,” he added. “I never walked up that street again. The rest of my life I took the longest way to get to the laundromat. What once was a five minute walk took me 30 minutes.”

While he was able to recall the incident clearly, he added that Nancy never spoke about it with him after it went down. “That’s what [kind of] area that was,” he noted. “You tell me to go down there right now, I’ma say, ‘You go first.’”

Lionel Richie to Receive This Year’s Icon Award at The 2022 American Music Awards

Later this month, Lionel Richie is set to be awarded this year’s Icon Award at the 2022 American Music Awards.

In addition to celebrating his legendary discography and many A.M.A. distinctions over the past several years, Richie will also become the only artist to have appeared on the A.M.A. stage since the show began in 1974.

Richie will receive his 18th A.M.A. trophy this year, which honors artists “whose body of work has marked a global influence over the music industry.”

“I’m immensely grateful for a career that has taken me to places I never imagined that I’d go, from arenas worldwide to studio sets to the A.M.A. stage,” said Richie.  “I can recall one of the first times I got to perform at the A.M.A.s.  It was to sing ‘We Are the World’ among the most iconic musicians of my generation, so it is surreal to be receiving this recognition 36 years later.”

In addition to five No. 1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 as a solo artist, Richie has earned three No. 1 records on the Billboard 200 albums chart, with Can’t Slow Down (1983), Dancing on the Ceiling (1986) and Tuskegee (2012).

Kathy Griffin continues to troll Elon Musk on Twitter despite suspension

Kathy Griffin continues to taunt Elon Musk on Twitter despite being suspended from the app. How? By tweeting the new Twitter CEO from her dead mother's account.

Griffin was kicked off the social media platform over the weekend for impersonating Musk, but she maneuvered her way back online thanks to her mom Maggie. Maggie, a fan-favorite on My Life on the D-List, passed away in 2020. Maggie's Twitter account hadn't been active since 2019 — until Sunday night. Kathy started tweeting from "TipItMaggieG" and has relentlessly gone after Musk the past 24 hours.

"Elon, this is Maggie contacting you from the spirit world tell u…you're a douchebag. This is not parody. This is the actual ghost of Kathy Griffin's boxed wine loving mother saying I'm gonna get tipsy & throw my bingo cards at you! NOT A PARODY," Griffin wrote on Monday.

Musk previously declared that "comedy is now legal" on Twitter since his $44 billion acquisition, but the Tesla founder doesn't find it funny when people mock and impersonate him. Over the weekend, the entrepreneur said "any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying 'parody' will be permanently suspended."

Griffin changed her photo and name to match Musk's profile and was tweeting as him ahead of the midterm elections.

"After much spirited discussion with the females in my life, I've decided that voting blue for their choice is only right. (They're also sexy females, btw.) #VoteBlueToProtectWomen!" Griffin wrote as "Musk."

Sarah Silverman, Valerie Bertinelli and Mad Men alum Rich Sommer followed suit and changed their profiles to match Musk's. As of Monday, Sommer's account is still suspended while Silverman is back operating as herself.

Some celebrities are leaving Twitter on their own accord. Whoopi Goldberg called Twitter a "mess" and said on Monday's The View she's leaving the platform "today."

"I just feel like — it's so messy and I'm tired of now, having had certain kinds of attitudes blocked, and now they're back on. I'm gonna get out and if it settles down and I feel more comfortable, maybe I'll come back. But as of tonight, I'm done with Twitter," Goldberg declared.

Gigi Hadid announced on Instagram that she deactivated her account as Musk slashed Twitter's workforce. The model wrote that Twitter is "becoming more and more of a cesspool of hate & bigotry," adding, "especially with its new leadership."

"I can't say it's a safe place for anyone, not a social platform that will do more good than harm," Hadid noted.

Toni Braxton, Shonda Rhimes and Sara Bareilles have also departed the blue bird app.

As for Musk, he seems to be ignoring the #FreeKathy requests. Instead, he's urging his nearly 115 million followers to vote "for a Republican Congress" in the midterm elections
