#MAGFAB: Winston Duke for Esquire December 2022

Just a handful of scenes in 2018’s “Black Panther” made Winston Duke an overnight celebrity. Now he’s back with a bigger role in the much-hyped sequel, Wakanda Forever, and unlocking new powers as an artist. But as the cerebral star prepares for a new level of fame, he’s mourning the loss of his closest confidante—his mother, Mama Coco—and searching for deeper meaning in every aspect of his life.

On the kinds of films Duke is drawn to doing: “I want to lean into what I consider the epic. Black Panther’s an epic. I look at Nine Days as an epic. Us is an epic, the proportions and the scale. It’s that the world is ending, or that the stakes of the situation require major transformation to get through.”

On transitioning from life in Tobago to New York as a child: “I never had this, like, teenage angst. I did go through bouts of teenage depression. I come from a culture where people are warm-blooded, warm culture. When they talk, sometimes they talk real close to you. Americans feel entitled to space.”

On being at a service for Chadwick Boseman, where there was an attempt to do a “Wakanda” chant as a send-off for the actor: “It just was like, ‘Leave that outside,’ you know? The moment was begging you to leave it outside and be in the moment here. It was emotionally intimate. You needed to be held, but you’re trying to do all the social distancing. It hurt really bad just seeing how small the box was. I was standing there in complete disbelief saying, ‘Where’s the rest of it? Where’s the rest of everything?’”

On the recent death of his mother: “There’s so much grief. It’s a strange feeling, grief, because it just erupts at any given moment. I feel like, at this moment, I need to sound positive, uplifting. But I don’t really have that. What I can say is that I miss the best person that I think I’ve ever known so far in my life.”

“Super.Hero.” by Hunter Harris is on Esquire.com now and in the new Winter issue, available everywhere by November 29.

#RHOA: Nene Leakes’ Boyfriend Nyonisela Sioh Files for Divorce From Wife Malomine Amid Her Lawsuit Against RHOA Alum

Nene Leakes‘ boyfriend, Nyonisela Sioh, has filed for divorce from his wife, Malomine Tehmeh-Sioh, amid Malomine’s ongoing lawsuit against the former Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member.

Months after Malomine sued Nene for over $100,000, accusing her of sleeping with Nyonisela and ruining their marriage, Nyonisela is requesting a dissolution of their marriage and an equitable distribution of their assets.

On November 15, TMZ shared details of Nyonisela’s court documents, revealing he confirmed he and Malomine had been married since 2016 and share one child. He also noted that they separated on September 19, 2021, months before he and Nene were first photographed together in December of that year. Nyonisela also said they’ve been living separately ever since because their breakup was always meant to be permanent.

As RHOA fans may recall, Malomine filed a lawsuit against Nene in June, claiming the ex-reality star was a homewrecker and accusing Nene of causing her emotional distress.

Following Malomine’s filing, Nene spoke to Entertainment Tonight, saying she was being “dragged into something that is just not [her] business.”

“They have their own legal thing that’s going on. I shouldn’t be brought into it, that’s all. So, I really have no feelings about it. I really think that it’s something that [Nyonisela] has to handle himself,” she said at the time.

But according to Malomine, she and her estranged husband “enjoyed a genuine happy marital relationship, in which some degree of love, affection, society, companionship, comfort, friendship and favorable mental attitude existed between them” before Nene’s “wrongful interference and conduct.”

Also during her chat with Entertainment Tonight, Nene said she’s “still grieving” the loss of late husband Gregg Leakes, who died of cancer in September 2021.

“This person was in my life for 25 years. I see things that remind me of him,” she revealed. “One person told me that lost her husband and she said, ‘You know, just always talk about it if you see it. Don’t keep anything in.’ So my circle is really OK with me bringing up Gregg or talking about Gregg. So many of us know him ’cause he was around for so long and you can’t just forget about somebody like that after 25 years. I’ve never had anybody die that close to me.”

“That was a really trying time,” she added.

#HipHopNews: Nicki Minaj Receives No Nominations At 2023

The nominations for the 2023 Grammy Awards have been announced and Nicki Minaj is nowhere to be found.

On Tuesday (Nov. 15), The Recording Academy revealed the potential winners for next year's award show. The Best Rap Song nominees are Jack Harlow's "Churchill Downs" featuring Drake, DJ Khaled's "God Did" featuring Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, John Legend and Fridayy, Kendrick Lamar's "The Heart Part 5," Gunna and Future's "Pushin P" featuring Young Thug and Future's "Wait For U" featuring Drake and Tems.

While it was previously known Nicki's hit single "Super Freaky Girl" would not compete in this category, Nicki's Billboard Hot 100-topping single failed to get any nods in the pop categories as well. In fact, the Queen rapper was totally shut out.

Back in October, it was reported that The Recording Academy had removed Nicki Minaj's hit song "Super Freaky Girl" from consideration in the rap category and were considering the Rick James-sampled song a pop track. She reacted to the news on Twitter.

"I have no prob being moved out the RAP category as long as we r ALL being treated FAIRLY," she tweeted. "If SFG has 2B moved out RAP then so does Big Energy! ANY1 who says diff is simply a Nicki hater or a troll. I’d actually LUV 2 c a more street record win- male OR female! IJS rightIsRight."

She continued: "Could you imagine someone telling you not to 'complain' about being treated unfairly at your workplace? This is my job. I work very hard. No diff from a 9-5 where you should speak up for yourself if you know you’re a great employee & continue to be purposely sabotaged."

Her Grammy rant kicked off a beef with Latto, which played out on Twitter.

Naturally, Nicki Minaj fans are livid that she was not picked in any category.

"No way did glorilla and latto get nominated for a grammy but nicki minaj didn’t… the grammys are so rigged," one Twitter user tweeted.

"Not surprised but let me say this and ima be done…. Nicki Minaj is always gone be that btch with or without a Grammy ‍♂️ and ima stand 10 toes down for her and as long as I got breath in my body she’s gonna always be on top! PERIOD!" another person wrote.

Mariah Carey Has been denied The Title of the ‘Queen of Christmas’ in trademark case

“All I Want for Christmas Is You” singer Mariah Carey got a lump of coal in her stocking before the holiday this year.

On Tuesday, the US Trademark Trial and Appeal Board ruled against the pop diva’s legal attempt to trademark the name “Queen of Christmas.”

It was also ruled that Carey, 52, can’t trademark the titles “Princess of Christmas” or “QOC” either.

The decision means that the regal holiday monikers can be used by another singer, Elizabeth Chan, who says she’s “the world’s only full-time pop Christmas recording artist.”

Chan, who has put out 12 albums of Christmas music to date, has also used the title “Princess of Christmas” as a nickname for her daughter and sometimes collaborator, Noelle, 5.

Carey was attempting to trademark the Queen of Christmas title via her company, called Lotion LLC, to use on a line of merchandise that would include albums, fragrances, pet accessories, sunglasses and more.

But Chan filed an opposition in the case earlier this year. Other singers, such as “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” crooner Darlene Love, also objected to Carey’s move.

Attorney Louis Tompros of WilmerHale, which repped Chan, said in a statement: “This was a classic case of trademark bullying. We are pleased with the victory, and delighted that we were able to help Elizabeth fight back against Carey’s overreaching trademark registrations.”

Chan told Page Six through tears after the victory in the case:  “I did this to protect and save Christmas. Christmas isn’t about one single person — it’s about everybody.”

Carey wanted to trademark the regal holiday moniker for a line of merchandise.

She added that: “I’ve dedicated my life to this understanding of how special Christmas is. It was difficult to be the one to stand up” against Carey in the name of the holiday.

A rep for Carey did not immediately comment. The star, who’s known for her inescapable Christmas anthems, published a children’s Christmas book this year and has an upcoming holiday special.

Chan, who just released her latest album, “12 Months of Christmas,” further said in a statement of the victory: “Christmas is a season of giving, not the season of taking, and it is wrong for an individual to attempt to own and monopolize a nickname like Queen of Christmas for the purposes of abject materialism.”

She also said in a press release: “As an independent artist and small business owner, my life’s work is to bring people together for the holiday season, which is how I came to be called the Queen of Christmas. I wear that title as a badge of honor and with full knowledge that it will be — and should be — bestowed on others in the future. My goal in taking on this fight was to stand up to trademark bullying not just to protect myself, but also to protect future Queens of Christmas.”

The pop diva just released a new Christmas book, and has a holiday special coming up.

Chan’s new single is called, “Merry Merry.”

The Wall Street Journal reported that the Patent and Trademark Office said Carey’s side didn’t respond to Chan’s opposition, and that Carey therefore wouldn’t get the trademark.

'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' star Angela Bassett 'objected' to Queen Ramonda twist and asked Ryan Coogler: 'What are you doing?'

Angela Bassett was shocked by the Queen Ramonda twist in "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever."

The star was concerned that people would dislike the drastic plot development.

"Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" sees Shuri (Letitia Wright) and her family grieve the loss of King T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) while also clashing with the advanced might of Namor (Tenoch Huerta) and the aquatic citizens of Talokan.

The war between Talokan and Wakanda escalates when Namor floods the African nation, and in a heartbreaking twist, Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett) drowns while saving Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) in the throne room.

It's a shocking moment, especially since the film is already heavy with the loss of Chadwick Boseman.

Angela Bassett explained in a new interview with IndieWire that she "objected" to Ramonda's death when speaking to director Ryan Coogler, and thought audiences would hate the twist.

Bassett said: "I objected. Yeah, I was like, 'Ryan, what are you doing? Why? You will rue the day! You will rue the demise of [Ramonda]. People are gonna be so upset.'"

However, the director picked the scene apart for the star and pointed out that there are always ways for characters to return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The star added: "He was like, 'Angela, I know, I know, but look, to die is not really to die in this world. It doesn't really have to mean that.'"

Coogler has a point because Michael B. Jordan's Killmonger briefly returns for a cameo in "Wakanda Forever" when Shuri visits the spirit world after gaining the powers of the Black Panther. While she hopes to see her brother, Shuri instead sees the villainous Killmonger because she's filled with rage over losing both her brother and her mother.

So, it's not impossible that Ramonda could return in some way in the future, because as Bassett puts it: "All kinds of crazy things happen."

The actor went on to explain why the audience means a lot to her, noting that people will watch her performances even after she's gone.

She said: "The audience is family to me, and theater is sacred to me. And so I always think about how it's going to last. It's gonna last on celluloid or digital or whatever you want to call it. It is going to last when I'm long gone."

"Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" is in theaters now.

Casey Anthony Blames Her Estranged Father George Anthony for Daughter Caylee’s Death

Pointing fingers. Casey Anthony blamed her estranged father, George Anthony, for the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

In the upcoming Peacock limited series Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies, Anthony, 36, alleged that George staged Caylee's drowning in order to cover up that he may have been abusing her.

"I wasn't feeling that great, and I wanted to lay down," Anthony recalled about the last day Caylee was seen, which was on June 16, 2008. "I had her lay in bed with me.”

"I was awoken by [my father] shaking me and asking me where Caylee was," she continued. "That didn't make sense. She would never even leave my room without telling me. I immediately started looking around the house. I go outside and I'm looking to see where she could be."

Anthony then claimed that she saw her father holding Caylee. "He was standing there with her," she said. "She was soaking wet. He handed her to me. Said it was my fault. That I caused it. But he didn't rush to call 911 and he wasn't trying to resuscitate her. I collapsed with her in my arms. She was heavy, and she was cold."

"He takes her from me and he immediately softens his tone and says 'It's going to be OK,’” the Florida native continued. “I wanted to believe him. He took her from me and he went away."

Anthony decided to then stay with her then-boyfriend, Tony Lazzaro. However, she didn’t tell anyone about the incident because she wasn't under the impression that Caylee was dead.

"During the 31 days, I genuinely believed that Caylee was still alive," she told cameras. "My father kept telling me she was ok. I had to keep following his instructions. He told me what to do. I tried to act as normal as I could."

Caylee was last seen alive at her grandparents’ house in Orlando, Florida. Anthony’s mother, Cindy Anthony, reported her granddaughter missing on July 15, 2008, after Anthony told her parents she had not seen Caylee in a month. Investigators later found a bag of human remains in a wooded area about half of a mile from the family’s home on December 19, 2008, which they later determined to be Caylee.

Anthony added she doesn’t believe Caylee drowned in the above-ground pool. "There was no ladder … no way for her to shimmy up,” she said. “There's no way to explain that, unless [George] put her in the pool to cover up what he did."

Also in the documentary, Anthony claimed George and her brother, Lee, had sexually abused her. Both men have previously denied the allegations and have never been charged.

She also accused her father of physical abuse in the documentary. "He'd put a pillow over my face and smother me to knock me out," Anthony alleged. "That happened several times. I'm sure there were times where I was incapacitated as a child where my body was limp and lifeless."

The photographer admitted she worried George moved on to abusing Caylee once he stopped with her. "That's what I think about," she said. "I wish every day I had said something to someone about something. Maybe then things would be different."

Following a nearly two-month trial, Anthony was found not guilty of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter of a child. However, she was found guilty of four misdemeanor counts of providing false information to law enforcement and was sentenced to serve four years in prison.

George was pulled into several theories about his granddaughter’s disappearance, while he refuted the claim that she drowned in the family’s swimming pool and was actually never missing.

“I don’t believe (the drowning). That’s a bunch of bull to me,” he said during the finale of 2017’s Casey Anthony: An American Murder Mystery. “That’s too easy of a story to bring up ‘cause if that would’ve happened, I think my daughter would’ve at least had the common decency or common sense inside to call 911 and say something.”

Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies premieres Tuesday, November 29 on Peacock.

Denise Richards 'Very Shaken Up' After She And Husband Get Shot At In Road Rage Incident

Denise Richards is still reeling from a road rage incident that led to a gunfire. The actress and her husband Aaron Phypers were involved in a life-threatening situation as they were shot at in Los Angeles.

According to reports, Denise and Aaron were driving to Popsicle Studio in South Los Angeles, where she was filming for an upcoming project, when the shooting happened on Monday, November 14. She was riding in the passenger seat of their Ford F-150 Shelby pick-up truck while her husband was behind the wheel.

Aaron reportedly was having a tough time finding the place and the driver behind them was getting irritated, shouting at them while trying to squeeze in front of them. He let the guy pass, but the other driver wasn't done. That was when the other driver shot at their truck, hitting the back end on the driver's side.

Fortunately, no one was injured and the couple managed to arrive at the studio. Denise was reportedly sobbing on the set, but remained professional and worked for 12 hours after overcoming her emotions. Aaron stayed with her the whole time.

Someone from production saw the bullet hole on the truck, which picture was obtained by TMZ, and called 911. It's unclear if cops came or took a report, but an off-duty cop, who was on set, escorted Denise and Aaron back to the freeway after she finished filming and they made their way home safely.

Tamar Braxton Hints At Split From Boyfriend Jeremy Robinson: 'This Guy Was So Communal'

Tamar Braxton is probably single again, less than three months after going public with her boyfriend Jeremy Robinson. The singer/TV personality has hinted at her split from her beau as she dissed him during a recent public appearance.

In a short clip of the event, the 45-year-old was asked about her dating life when she seemingly took a jab at Jeremy. "These dudes out here is for everybody. I didn't know this guy was so communal," she said, leaving the host shocked. She added with a laugh, "Somebody could have told me that."

Tamar then shared advice to other women about loving themselves at the first place. "As a woman we have learned to accepting what we should not accept. And we're not comfortable with being by ourselves," she explained. "And I think that once we accept ourselves in our skin, when the right person wants to show themselves to us. Because I'm not interested in sharing your man with me. That's not going to work."

While Tamar didn't mention her boyfriend's name, just two months ago she debuted her then-new relationship with Jeremy at a party. In videos which circulated online back in August, the two walked hand-in-hand as they attended the bash seemingly to celebrate Jeremy a.k.a. JR's 46th birthday. The two were all smiles as they were greeted with loud cheers by the guests.

Marking his birthday, JR gushed about being "happily in love" on his Instagram post. "Wow, 46 years of life...," he captioned a photo of his birthday cake and pictures of him with his pals at the party. "So much to be thankful for and so many amazing people to be thankful to. I never would have imagined being here, right now in this moment."

Taylor Swift fans irate at Ticketmaster as huge tour pre-sale demand snarls site

There’s some bad blood brewing between Taylor Swift fans and Ticketmaster.

Pre-sales for a handful of dates on the singer’s new tour began Tuesday. But infuriated fans report the ticketing website appeared to crash or freeze during purchase. Customers turned to Twitter to complain about Ticketmaster not loading or allowing them to access tickets, despite having a pre-sale code for verified fans.

“I got a code and am logged in to the correct account but it’s saying I’m not verified?! What do I do?,” a fan wrote on Twitter. Others echoed that complaint, with some calling on Ticketmaster to “FIX THIS.”

However, Ticketmaster told CNN Business that the “site is not down” and that “people are actively purchasing tickets.”

Ticketmaster issued a follow up statement Tuesday afternoon on Twitter, writing that “there has been historically unprecedented demand with millions showing up” to buy tickets for Swift’s tour. It told customers still waiting in the virtual queue that it is moving and to “hang tight.”

In response to the demand, Ticketmaster has shifted the start times of pre-sales for Swift’s other concert dates. “Thank you for your patience as we continue managing this huge demand,” the company said.

“Fans who have received a code to the TaylorSwiftTix Presale should login and access the queue through the link they received via text rather than entering through the Ticketmaster homepage,” the company said. “This will ensure an optimal shopping experience.”

The US leg of “The Eras Tour” begins March 18 at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona and wraps August 5 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

Swift recently became the first artist ever to simultaneously claim all top ten spots on the Billboard Hot 100 following the release of her latest album, “Midnights.”

“A special thanks to @drshahinghadir for helping us grow our family & our incredible surrogate and all of the nurses and doctors. We are overjoyed to be a family of four.”

Ferguson, 47, and Mikita, 37, became dads in July 2020 when their son Beckett was born with the help of a gestational carrier.

The actor announced they had welcomed a boy that they named Sullivan Louis Ferguson-Mikita.

The “Modern Family” alum praised the lawyer in the infant’s Instagram debut, writing, “Two weeks ago I got to see you become a dad. We are entering a whole new chapter and I couldn’t be happier to be doing it with you.”

Ferguson played a father as Mitchell Prichett on the ABC show for 11 seasons.

When the sitcom came to an end in April 2020, the Emmy nominee said he had a chance to “really focus” on Beckett’s arrival.

“There was this forced opportunity to stop and relax and be in the moment,” Ferguson told People in March 2021.

“[Parenting is] astonishing,” he added. “I can be in a bad mood and seeing [Beckett] super excited, kicking and smiling, it just immediately lifts my spirits. It’s so pure and sweet. And it gives me so much joy.”

The couple also share son Beckett.

In May of the following year, the “Take Me Out” star told his Instagram followers that baby No. 2 was on the way.

“@justinmikita and I have some exciting news, we’re expecting No. 2!” he captioned an Instagram video. “Our growing family will be a family of four later this fall! We are so excited for Beckett to have a sibling.”

Ferguson’s former “Modern Family” co-stars sweetly showed their support in the comments section, with Sarah Hyland gushing, “YESSSSSSSSSSS.”

The Tony winner and Mikita got engaged in September 2012 after nearly two years of dating, tying the knot in July 2013 in New York.

Former President Donald Trump announces 2024 bid for White House

Former President Donald Trump announced he will be running for the third consecutive time for the position of President of the United States Tuesday night.

Trump made the announcement from his Florida home of Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach County.

Trump filed for the office of President of the United States with the Federal Election Commission Tuesday. The full document can be read here.

He and his wife, Melania Trump, were introduced into the hall for his speech as "the next President and First Lady of the United States of America."

“In order to make America great and glorious again, I am tonight announcing my candidacy for president of the United States,” Trump said to an audience of several hundred supporters, club members and gathered press in a chandeliered ballroom at his Mar-a-Lago club, where he stood flanked by more than 30 American flags and banners bearing his “Make America Great Again” slogan. “I am running because I believe the world has not yet seen the true glory of what this nation can be.”

"Ladies and gentlemen, America's comeback starts right now," Trump said during his speech.

Ivanka Trump, who had introduced Trump when he announced his candidacy in 2015, was not at the event Tuesday.

She released a statement about her support for her family, but noted that will be happening outside of politics.

"I love my father very much. This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family," Ivanka Trump said.

"I do not plan to be involved in politics. While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena.

"I am grateful to have had the honor of serving the American people and I will always be proud of many of our Administration’s accomplishments.”

Donald Trump Jr was also not at the event because he had been hunting out west and couldn't get a flight back because of bad weather, according to ABC News.

Trump was the president from 2017 to 2021 after defeating former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election. Trump ran for a second term but was defeated by former vice president Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election.

Kevin Wagner, a political science professor at Florida Atlantic University, believes Trump is the favorite to win the Republican nomination.

“Other Republicans that are thinking about running for president will have to evaluate if there’s room for them in this race,” Wagner said.

Trump's run for 2024 comes after the midterm elections, where Democrats retained control of the Senate and the House is still up for grabs.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Florida U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio both won reelection within two hours of polls closing. DeSantis has not announced his intent to run for president, but his name has been considered as a top candidate for the Republican nomination.

Trump didn't discuss DeSantis during the speech Tuesday.

“(DeSantis) came out of the midterm elections in a very, very strong position, maybe in the strongest position of anyone other than the former president,” Wagner said. “So, he has a lot of options available to him. So, he’ll have to decide what he wants to do.”

Trump's time running for office will also contain discussions about the Jan. 6, 2021, riot, being impeached twice and current federal investigations and lawsuits.

If he is ultimately successful, Trump would be just the second U.S. president in history to serve two nonconsecutive terms, following Grover Cleveland’s wins in 1884 and 1892.

Heckler Drowned Out By Applause After Booing Black 12-Year-Old Performer at Royal Opera House, Receives Lifetime Ban

An unruly theatergoer who booed a pre-teen opera singer during his performance on one of the most prestigious stages in London has been permanently banned from attending shows at the opera house.

Tuesday, Nov. 8, was Malakai M. Bayoh’s debut as the character Oberto in Richard Jones’ new production of “Alcina,” a witty rendering of George Frideric Handel’s opera that was first performed on stage at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in 1735.

The young 12-year-old boy stepped onstage to render his operatic-alto vocals but was temporarily interrupted by a heckler in the audience, who shouted out “rubbish.”

Bayoh, who is Black, pushed through the segment that could have crippled the young artist, leading the audience to drown out the one catcaller with thunderous applause and ovation.

The heckler eventually left the venue but is no longer welcome. The institution has issued a lifelong ban to the person, according to Newsweek.

The audience erupted with more power when he took his final bow at the end of the show. Still, the Royal Opera House made sure they released a statement in support of the young actor, saying they were appalled that someone would have behaved in just a despicable way.

“Unfortunately, the opening night of Alcina featured an audience member who disrupted the show and the excellent performance by young singer Malakai M Bayoh,” the statement read. “We are appalled that a member of the audience behaved in this way and steps have been taken to ensure the audience member in question does not return to the Royal Opera House.”

Others in the audience took issue with the heckler’s action, questioning, “Who would do that to a child?”

Josh Spero, the associate arts editor at the Financial Times, tweeted, “The nastiest thing happened @RoyalOperaHouse tonight during Alcina: a ~12yo boy was sweetly singing his lines when a man in the audience yelled ‘rubbish!’ and booed him.”

“Who would do that to a child? Once the boy was done, the audience responded with wild applause and cheering,” he recounted.

Bayoh has studied for this moment and was prepared to represent his school, Cardinal Vaughan Memorial in West London, on his big night.

And his reviews from actual critics punctuated the night with celebration. The Arts Desk website said he was “the real scene-stealer” during the show. The site added, “The lad’s a star and deserves every plaudit.”

Rebecca Franks from The Times said Boyah performed that aria with “lovely fluency and confidence” and said experiencing the heckling was a “vile moment.”

“I hope the young talented boy only heard the heartfelt, well-deserved applause,” Franks stated.

An accomplished player, this was not the young man’s first time on the ROH. He made his debut at the premier theater in 2021 in a production of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” at the Covent Garden venue.

A spokesperson for the opera house said, “Malakai is astonishingly talented.”

And many professionals in the space believe he has a bright future on the stage.

LeBron James' SpringHill Company to release Nipsey Hussle docuseries

LeBron James and business partner Maverick Carter will be releasing a new docuseries about Nipsey Hussle through their SpringHill production company. The project will also work exclusively with the late rapper’s Marathon Films. Fans received the news today (Nov. 15).

As of now, a title for the series has not been announced, but sources say the project will show him growing up in Crenshaw and rising to fame as a hip hop legend and activist. Those who have followed the “Grinding All My Life” artist’s career will be thrilled to see unreleased archived footage compiled throughout the years. Video of Hussle working with fellow musicians like Snoop Dogg, Diddy and Kendrick Lamar is expected to be seen. There will also be rare clips of the Los Angeles native with his longtime romantic partner Lauren London.

James released a statement about his company’s involvement with the upcoming docuseries. “It’s an incredible honor for SpringHill to have a part in sharing Nipsey’s story and legacy with the world,” the message began. It continued, “He used his gift to give back to his community and lived what it means to inspire, empower and uplift others along the way. His words, his ambition and his actions stick with me to this day as he continues to inspire myself, our company and people everywhere.” Hussle began his music career with Epic Records before starting his label, All Money In. The concept of “All Money in, No Money Out,” is reportedly based on economic self-sufficiency.

Hussle also opened businesses like his Marathon Clothing store as a means to boost Crenshaw’s economy and give back to the community he grew up in. Unfortunately, on March 31, 2019, the “Ocean Views” artist was fatally shot in front of that very same business. His older brother, Samiel “Blacc Sam” Asghedom, noted, “Nipsey was a man of the people.” Asghedom added, “He often said his purpose in life was to inspire. Nipsey’s light shone across the world. His life is a testament that his purpose was fulfilled. The family has taken the proper time and care needed to ensure that Nipsey’s life story be detailed and presented correctly and accurately. We are honored to be able to cement Nipsey’s legacy with this epic docuseries of his life. Nipsey said, ‘If they made a story about my life, it better be a classic.’” LeBron James' SpringHill Company to release Nipsey Hussle docuseries

Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield team up for ear-shaped edibles

Over two decades ago, one of the most bizarre boxing matches in American history took place as Mike Tyson battled it out with Evander Holyfield in the ring. On June 28, 1997, as millions of stunned viewers watched, Tyson bit off a chunk of his opponent’s ear. At the time, the offense caused Tyson to be disqualified and lose his boxing license. It was later reinstated, but the moment was never forgotten.

To celebrate 25 years since the infamous incident, the two have teamed up to create a special treat just in time for the holidays. Tyson, who has found himself dabbling in the world of cannabis in recent years, enlisted Holyfield for his new endeavor. Yesterday (Nov. 14), the boxing greats announced a line of cannabis-infused edibles called “Holy Ears.” The commercial for the product is one you have to see to believe.

As Tyson, 56, and Holyfield, 60, sit beside one another in a decked-out, holiday-themed cabin in Christmas sweaters, they debate about who should open their gift first. Holyfield presents Tyson with an iron, saying, “I’m glad we ironed things out.” Next, the 56-year-old gives a gift in return. “What is this?” Holyfield asks. “I got you your ear,” Tyson responds. “No, it’s not. This ain’t my ear,” the 60-year-old argues. Tyson assures Holyfield that it indeed is his ear and it’s also cherry pie punch-flavored. Holyfield insists his ears don’t taste like cherry pie, but Tyson affirms that he, of all people, should know that they do.

The reactions on social media have been priceless. “Just waking up today, gotta thank God. Good morning. And on today’s episode of things I never thought I’d see, Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield have come together to sell edible gummies in the shape of ears and ladies and gentlemen, do you realize how INSANE THIS IS?!?” one person tweeted. Another wrote, “I know we’ve got a lot going on around here but — no joke — Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield are starting a cannabis edibles company called ‘Holy Ears’ and I need twitter commentary on this NOW.”

Fans can expect Holy Ears to be available online and at retail locations in Arizona, Illinois, Nevada and New Jersey this month. The product will come in Delta 8, THC and other hemp-cannabinoid varieties.

Married Atlanta Pastor Speaks Out About Leak of His Gay Sex Tape

*Pastor Dwayne Dawkins of the Leaders in Training Conference in Atlanta is speaking out about his gay sex tape leak.

According to Love B. Scott, Dawkins is a married father of three kids “who frequently condemned acts of homosexuality from the pulpit,” the outlet writes. After a video leaked online of him hooking up with what Dawkins describes as a “sneaky link,” the pastor quickly release a statement admitting to being bisexual.

Dawkins said he knew his sexual encounter with the man would be recorded — he just wasn’t expecting it to get leaked. Check out his full remarks in the YouTube clip HERE.

Apparently, the “sneaky link” is a content creator. When the pastor begged him to remove the video, the man ignored the request and blocked the pastor’s number.

Pastor Dawkins said he’s been dealing with ‘bisexual tendencies’ his entire life.

”I had connected with an individual of the same gender and I’ve had, throughout my childhood up until even this moment, dealing with bisexual tendencies,” he said. “It was wrong.”

”That evening, you can imagine, I did not sleep. I have a wife and three beautiful sons. Pastor of a church in South Florida for 14 years at that point and family, loved ones, all of that — so the weight of that shame sat on me.”

Pastor Dawkins said he contemplated suicide over the embarrassing ordeal.

”That night, I decided I had to live for my sons. Which is worse? A dead father? Or a bisexual struggling father? I made the decision to live.”

Jeff Bezos Announces He’s Donating His Wealth to Charity Amid Massive Amazon Layoffs

Jeff Bezos has declared his intention to donate most of his wealth to various charitable causes worldwide.

The Amazon founder has been criticized over the years for failing to lend his massive wealth to critical matters plaguing the world. Currently, worth $124.1 billion, Bezos has even been slammed by Amazon employees for less than favorable working conditions, despite the company’s continued financial growth. Now, the planet’s fourth richest person is ready to make some serious changes.

During an interview with CNN’s Chloe Melas that aired Monday, November 14th, he outlined his plans to “give away this money” to multiple pressing causes. One major issue that will receive a good chunk of Bezos’s resources is the Bezos Earth Fund, which was founded in 2020. Bezos disclosed that he will give non-profit groups, scientists, and activists $10 billion over the next decade “to help preserve and protect the natural world.”

He shared that more funds will go towards unifying citizens everywhere despite deep-rooted social and political disparities. While he did not go into detail about how this will be done, he did announce over the weekend that activist and country music icon Dolly Parton would receive the Bezos Courage and Civility Award. This honor will grant Parton $100 million to give to her chosen charities. Previous recipients of this award include celebrity chef Jose Andrés and CNN contributor Van Jones.

While these gestures are certainly a step in the right direction, they come at a time when Amazon employees could use a good deed from Bezos. The company recently announced that they were laying off about 10,000 employees, most of which staff the retail division and human resources. This mass job cut will be the largest in the company’s history, accounting for three percent of its workforce.

Bezos did not address the layoffs in his sitdown with Melas but did warn Americans of a looming recession and advised people to refrain from making risky purchases in the foreseeable future.

Former ‘Empire’ Actor Bryshere Gray Arrested for Allegedly Physically Abusing Woman

Former Empire actor Bryshere Gray has been arrested after he allegedly physically abused a woman, per TMZ.

According to legal documents, Maricopa, Arizona police were called last week after a woman said she the actor’s “behavior was escalating and she was concerned for her safety.” She claimed that Gray pulled her hair, and threw a box of food at her among other instances of aggressive behavior.

Officers added that Gray has had multiple incidents with police in recent months, including one domestic disturbance call in October. Since he failed to tell his probation officer about these incidents, he’s been arrested for a probation violation.

The actor, who portrayed Hakeem Lyon on Fox’s Empire, entered a guilty plea in a domestic violence case last year. As part of the agreement, he spent ten days in a county jail and was placed on a three-year probation program. He was additionally ordered to pay restitution and enroll in a domestic violence offender treatment program. Other charges related to July, 2020 incident were dropped.

Goodyear, Arizona authorities said that they responded to calls at a Circle K convenience store after someone notified police that Gray had assaulted a woman. The victim was later identified as his wife. It’s unclear if the woman who called police this month is the same person. In 2020, she flagged down a citizen for help and said that she had been assaulted at her home for “hours” by Gray, who has not had a major acting role since Empire ended in 2020.

University of Virginia suspect's father says son was picked on before shooting

As previously reported, on Sunday (Nov. 13), a gunman opened fire on campus at the University of Virginia. Three members of the school’s football team were shot and killed during the tragedy and two others were injured. Police named Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., 22, as a suspect and took him into custody yesterday (Nov. 14).

Later that day, Richmond, Virginia news station NBC 12 spoke with the suspect’s father, Christopher Darnell Jones Sr. He told the outlet that his son, also a member of the football team, was being picked on. “I can’t believe it was him. I still can’t believe it now,” the stunned father began during the interview. Jones Sr. said he hadn’t talked to his son in about a month, but that the last time they saw each other, he seemed okay. “He came to the house. He did his laundry. We sat and talked and he seemed like he was doing really well,” he shared.

Jones Sr. revealed he later learned his son was having troubles with other University of Virginia students. “When we finally had a chance to talk, he said there were some people there who were giving him a hard time, but he still was upbeat, and he was positive. I don’t know what happened between then and now to cause this to happen,” the grieving father said. While expressing his sadness regarding the situation, he mentioned he wished things would’ve gone differently. “Why did it have to get this far? He could’ve called me… If he had called me Saturday, I think maybe I could have talked him out of some things,” Jones Sr. told NBC 12.

The 22-year-old is accused of shooting his fellow teammates on a school bus as the student-athletes returned from a field trip on Sunday. Authorities have identified the deceased victims as Devin Chandler of Virginia Beach; Lavel “Tyler” Davis of Dorchester, South Carolina; and D’Sean Perry of Miami, Florida. Jones Sr. offered his condolences to all of those affected by the act of violence.
