Cynthia Bailey's mom is officially cancer-free. On Tuesday, The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum, 55, shared a health update on her mother, Barbara Ford Morris, who has been going through treatment for breast cancer. Alongside a selfie of the two, Bailey revealed that her mom has been declared cancer-free following radiation.

"Thanksgiving came early. Thank you all for your love, prayers & well wishes! Glory be to God!ππ #cancerfree #healthiswealth," Bailey added.
In August, Bailey posted photos as she sat in the hospital with her mother as she prepared for surgery.
"Thank you for all the love, phone calls, texts and prayers everyone. My mother @barbarafmorris is a little anxious & nervous but otherwise in good spirits mentally and emotionally," she wrote at the time.
"Her blood pressure was too high to operate when they prepped her but thankfully they were able to get it down before the surgery. Now we pray and wait. CONTINUE to pray with me & my family for a successful surgery & a speedy recovery.❤️" Bailey added.
Earlier that month, the reality star first shared with her Instagram followers that her mother had been diagnosed with breast cancer and said that the family was grateful they caught the diagnosis early "by the grace of God."
"Just recently my beautiful mother @barbarafmorris was diagnosed with breast cancer. She didn't feel anything but it showed up on her most recent mammogram. We took her to her first doctors appointment yesterday to confirm what stage and her treatment options. By the grace of God, we caught it early & it is only stage one.," she shared at the time, posting family photos of her mother and sister, Malorie.
Bailey went on to share that she shared the personal news to remind women to stay on top of getting mammograms annually.
"With surgery to remove the cancer & radiation she is going to be fine. Initially I only shared this information with close friends & family but after getting the great news yesterday that my mom is going to be ok, I felt inclined to share it with all of you. #MusicNews: BeyoncΓ©'s 'Renaissance' Trilogy To Include Acoustic And JAY-Z Albums
BeyoncΓ© is getting ready for her next acts. The music icon dropped her acclaimed dance album Renaissance in July and revealed that it would be a trilogy consisting of three parts.
“This three act project was recorded over three years during the pandemic,” she wrote in the album’s liner notes.
Details surrounding the remaining two acts have remained under wraps until now. A pop culture reporter for The New York Times claims that Acts 2 and 3 will be an acoustic album and a JAY-Z collaborative project.
“Before Twitter goes down, instead of making you follow me somewhere else, I’ll just tell you what I’ve heard about the other 2 acts of Beyonce’s 3-part ‘Renaissance’ project,” tweeted Kyle Buchanan. “(2nd act is an acoustic album, 3rd act is a collaboration with Jay-Z).”
If true, this would mark Bey’s second full project with her husband following 2018’s Everything Is Love.
She previously opened up about the inspiration behind Renaissance. “Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world,” she wrote. “It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration.”
Earlier this week, Bey earned nine nominations at the 65th Grammys including Album of the Year for Renaissance and Record and Song of the Year for “Break My Soul.” She and JAY-Z are now tied for the most Grammy nominations of all time with a record-breaking 88 each.
#HipHopNews: Diddy & King Combs Become First Father-Son Duo To Top Us Airplay Charts Simultaneously
Diddy and his son King Combs have become the first father-son duo in history to top the charts simultaneously, and the pair are celebrating the historic achievement.
In one of many Instagram posts shared by Diddy, the Bad Boy Records founder can be seen letting out a good laugh after he’s told the exciting news.
King Combs’ new single with Kodak Black “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop” went to No. 1 on Urban radio this week, while Diddy’s “Gotta Move On” single with Bryson Tiller topped both the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay charts this week.
“The way you feel when you and your son do something that’s never been done and make history and go number 1 at the same time!!” Diddy wrote in the first Instagram caption. “We sending this one out to all the fathers!! WE CAN DO THIS!!! LOVE! LOVE!! LOVE.”
In a separate post, Diddy added: “Words can’t describe how proud I am of my son @KingCombs!! He put that work in!! They made him work harder and he worked harder!! Congratulations, I’m proud of you son!! I love you!!! #1 song on Urban Radio!!”
In a coinciding video on the latter Instagram post, Diddy is seen holding a cake while surrounded by loved ones and offers some words of support for his son.
“This is for my son Christian. He put out 1, 2, 3, 4 maybe 5 records and he didn’t stop,” Diddy said. “And when you don’t stop and you say fuck that, and you go for what you know, and you did it for your mama too, and you did it on your own son and we proud of you.”
King Combs latest success comes after he told HipHopDX in 2020 that his father has always been the harshest critic of his music, and that first impressions matter to him even if its his son.
“Me and my Pops got a good relationship, and we’re real close sometimes, like it feels like we’re brothers,” Combs told DX via Zoom. “We’re just super cool. But Pops, he don’t play, he always makes sure that I’m on my Ps and Qs, and that I’m working hard, and not really taking nothing for granted. He be hard on me sometimes but at the end of the day, that’s my Pops. That’s what he’s supposed to do, so he’s cool.”
As for “Gotta Move On,” the single was released in May with a Teyana Taylor-directed video arriving soon after. It serves as the debut single off Puff’s forthcoming album, Off The Grid Vol. 1, which will be his fifth studio effort, and his first since 2006’s Press Play.
The album will also be his first project released under Love Records, the R&B imprint the music mogul launched earlier this year in collaboration with Motown Records.
“Music has always been my first love, Love Records is the next chapter is about getting back to the love and making the best music of my life,” Diddy said in a statement at the time. “For the label, I’m focused on creating timeless R&B music with the next generation of artists and producers. Motown is the perfect partner for my album and I’m excited to add to its legacy.”
#GUNVIOLENCEAGAIN: At least 6 people were killed in a shooting at a Walmart in Virginia, officials say. The shooter is also dead
At least six people were shot dead Tuesday night inside a Walmart in Chesapeake, Virginia, in an attack that unfolded within an hour of the store’s scheduled closing time, city officials said early Wednesday.
The shooter is dead, city officials said.
Investigators were sweeping the store overnight into Wednesday to search for victims or people who may have been hiding, Chesapeake Police spokesperson Leo Kosinski told CNN earlier. Police earlier reported people injured.
Investigators believe the shooter was an employee or former employee of the store who opened fire on other employees in a break room, a law enforcement source told CNN.
Police Chief Adrian Vasquez provided an update about the Club Q shooting investigation during a news conference at the Police Operations Center on Monday n Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Officials believe the shooter at some point turned the gun on himself, according to the source.
Officers responded to the Walmart around 10:12 p.m. – less than an hour before it was set to close – and found victims and evidence of a shooting, Kosinski said.
Five patients were being treated at Sentara General Hospital in nearby Norfolk, Virginia, a spokesperson for Sentara Healthcare told CNN affiliate WTKR. An update on their conditions was not immediately available.
A news conference was scheduled for 8 a.m. Wednesday, Chesapeake city officials said on Twitter.
The shooting, which came two days ahead of Thanksgiving as customers were doing last-minute shopping, is yet another instance of how gun violence erupts in American life in places traditionally seen as safe, from schools to stores and even hospitals.
At the University of Virginia in Charlottesville – which is about 170 miles west of Chesapeake – a 22-year-old student allegedly opened fire on fellow students this month, killing three of them on a bus returning to campus from a field trip to Washington, DC.
Last weekend, a 22-year-old shot and killed five people at an LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and 19 others were injured, authorities said.
year, according to the Gun Violence Archive. The archive and CNN tally a mass shooting as one involving at least four killed or injured, not including the shooter.
Joetta Jeffery told CNN her mother, Betsy Umphlett, sent her texts from inside the store during the shooting, alerting her that someone had opened fire.
“I’m crying, I’m shaking,” Jeffery told CNN. “I had just talked to her about buying turkeys for Thanksgiving, then this text came in.”
Jeffery said her mother is uninjured but in shock, and they’ve been reunited.
Chesapeake city officials have asked people to stay away from the store during the investigation.

“Our first responders are well-trained and prepared to respond; please give them space to do so,” the city said in a tweet.
A reunification center was set up at the Chesapeake Conference Center, city officials said. They are asking that only immediate family and emergency contacts for people who were in the store go to the center.
In a statement, Walmart said it’s shocked at the tragedy that unfolded in one of its stores.
“We’re praying for those impacted, the community and our associates. We’re working closely with law enforcement, and we are focused on supporting our associates,” the company said in the statement.
The Washington, DC, field office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives is assisting local police in the investigation, the bureau said on Twitter.
Chris Rock Returns to the Site of the Infamous Will Smith Slap, He also Shared More Insight About that Night
Comedian Chris Rock is currently on the road performing his latest stand-up routines for fans and one of the stops was at the Dolby Theatre. A return to this Hollywood house for the Brooklyn funnyman is a return to the place where one of the most embarrassing moments of his life took place.
From Thursday, Nov. 17 to Sunday, Nov. 20, Rock played center stage at the same venue where he hosted the 94th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, earlier in the year on March 27.
During his first night at the Dolby, after joking about Jan. 6 and his friend Dave Chapelle’s recent “Saturday Night Live” hosting gig, the comedian jumped right into it and brought up the infamous smack he suffered at the hands of Will Smith.
He joked, according to the New York Post, “People were like, ‘Did it hurt?’ You’re go—mn right it hurt.”
He continued, “Will Smith is significantly bigger than me. I am not the same size, okay? This mother f—- played Ali! I played Pookie from ‘New Jack City!’ “
While poking fun at himself, he also addresses critics who believed he should have met violence with violence. He recounted the question he has been getting for months, “People say, ‘Why the f–k did you do nothing back?’ Because I got parents. Because I was raised, you know? You know what my parents taught me? Don’t fight in front of white people! No, I’m not a victim!”
Rock said he would never play a victim on stage or in real life. He also said he would never host the Oscars again, saying returning would be like asking Nicole Brown Simpson “to go back to the restaurant” where she left her eyeglasses before she was murdered.
This, and a joke about Meghan Markle in London, sparked a debate about Rock’s tendency to make jokes about women. A joke Rock made about one woman, Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, was at the root of the Oscars assault.
During the most recent Oscars, Rock made a joke about Pinkett Smith’s hair, calling her “G.I. Jane” while freestyling a bit between award announcements.
“Jada, I love you. ‘G.I. Jane 2;’ can’t wait to see it,” Rock said, referencing the 1997 film “G.I. Jane” where Demi Moore’s character sported the ultra-short cut.
The joke hurt Pinkett Smith’s feelings, as she had recently been diagnosed with alopecia. Will Smith, in response to the joke, jumped out of his seat, walked up to Rock, slapped him in the face on the national live stream and then said, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f##king mouth.”
Smith would later apologize to the guests and the Academy, but refused to immediately address the comedian he slapped. After what appeared to be a season of self-reflection, he released a video pouring his regretful heart out and admitting he was sorry for hitting Rock.
Since the incident, Rock has been making power moves, touring with his friend Dave Chappelle and inking historic deals with streaming companies like Netflix.
Netflix released an official statement on Thursday, Nov. 10, butsaying Rock will make history by becoming the first artist on its platform to perform live. Rock will do a live comedy special in early 2023.
“Chris Rock is one of the most iconic and important comedic voices of our generation,” said Robbie Praw, Netflix vice president of Stand-up and Comedy Formats.
“We’re thrilled the entire world will be able to experience a live Chris Rock comedy event and be a part of Netflix history,” he continued. “This will be an unforgettable moment and we’re so honored that Chris is carrying this torch.”
The live event will make Rock’s second Netflix stand-up special. His first, “Chris Rock:Tambourine,” debuted over four years ago in February 2018.
Before the 2023 Netflix event, fans can catch him with Dave Chapelle for a few West Coast holiday performances. The upcoming shows are as follows:

Cristiano Ronaldo Breaks Silence On Rumors He's Responsible For Tom Brady's Unretirement
Cristiano Ronaldo is setting the record straight. The Portuguese soccer star has denied reports that he once convinced Tom Brady to come out of his NFL retirement during their Old Trafford meeting in March.
During a sit-down with Piers Morgan published on Friday, November 18, the Manchester United star went into detail about what took place in his and Tom's meeting at Old Trafford on March 12. "Tom Brady, the great NFL quarterback, retired. Then he has a conversation with you at Old Trafford. Whatever you say to him, the next day, he comes out of retirement," Piers, a self-professed die-hard Ronaldo fan, told the 37-year-old athlete.
"Psychology, see," Cristiano joked, "I'm a good psychologist." He then switched gears, denying any responsibility for Tom's decision. "I think he had taken the decision a few weeks before that," so he said. "He's a very smart guy who knows a lot about football [soccer], we had a nice conversation. I don't think that had anything to do with it, though."
On March 12, just one day before Tom announced his return to Tampa for a 23rd NFL season, CR7 spoke with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers player while on the pitch at Old Trafford, following a Manchester United victory over Tottenham.
In a viral clip taken on the pitch, Cristiano could be heard asking Tom, "You're finished [playing] right?" It's unclear what the seven-time Super Bowl champion said, as his response was inaudible in the video. Though so, the footballer could be seen squinting and smiling with his hands in his pockets.
At the time, people on Twitter ran with theories that Cristiano had convinced Tom to come out of retirement, with one person tweeting that the quarterback's decision was fueled by the "Cristiano effect."
On March 13, the day Tom announced his return for a 23rd season, Cristiano took to Instagram to share a photo of the pair at Old Trafford. "Always a pleasure and a privilege to share some thoughts and ideas with another GOAT…," he captioned the post.
In September, it's reported that Tom's decision to end his 40-day retirement was what led to the start of marital issues with his now-ex-wife Gisele Bundchen. The former couple, who shares two kids, Benjamin, 12, and Vivian, 9, confirmed in separate social media posts last month that they finalized their divorce.
Tom Cruise Accused Of 'Ruining' 'Call The Midwife' Filming
Having a run-in with Tom Cruise isn't always a pleasant experience, at least for Jenny Agutter. In a new interview, the actress claimed that the Hollywood star keeps disrupting the filming of BBC's "Call the Midwife".
"Tom Cruise keeps on ruining our filming by landing his helicopter right outside where we're shooting," the 69-year-old actress told Mirror of the "Top Gun: Maverick" actor.
According to Jenny, who plays Sister Julienne on the drama, Tom flew his helicopter over the "Midwife" set in Surrey, England, causing quite ruckus while the cast attempted to shoot scenes. Tom appeared to be filming "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part Two" in the town.
When asked if she would give Tom a talking-to about his allegedly rude chopper habits, the "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" actress replied, "In my habit! Imagine. 'Excuse me, Tom, but look, we're trying to film. I don't know about you, but just get your helicopter out of here quickly!' "
Neither Tom nor his representative has yet to respond to the claims.
Tom, who has a pilot license, is no stranger to doing his own stunts in his movies. Detailing his obsession with risk-taking, the 60-year-old actor shared at this year's Cannes Film Festival, "I always thought there's something that I can do and I wanted to push the art form. I thought, 'How can I immerse an audience into a movie with this kind of action? And how can I entertain them? What can I do?' "
Earlier this year, he landed on the latest "Mission: Impossible" set in his own helicopter and flew himself to the "Top Gun: Maverick" premiere. The actor is also set to be the first actor to shoot a movie in outer space. "I think Tom Cruise is taking us to space, he's taking the world to space," Universal Filmed Entertainment Group Chairman Donna Langley said, according to BBC News. "That's the plan. We have a great project in development with Tom … Taking a rocket up to the Space Station and shooting."
Of Tom's character, Donna said, "He will play a down-on-his-luck guy who finds himself in the position of being the only person who could save Earth." Doug Liman is set to direct the film that also involves Elon Musk's SpaceX and NASA.
Herschel Walker Abortion Accuser Releases New Evidence, Including Voice Messages: 'I Am Telling the Truth'
The second woman to accuse Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker of pushing her to get an abortion is offering new evidence to support her claim after he said she was lying.
via People:
The woman’s attorney, Gloria Allred, alleged in a press conference that Walker “had a romantic relationship with” the woman, known only as Jane Doe, “for 6 years, caused her to become pregnant, and then pressured her to have an abortion, even though she wanted to have their baby.”
According to Allred, Walker and Doe’s intimacy lasted from 1987 to 1993. On Tuesday, Allred released a slew of evidence to try and shut down any denial from Walker’s end that he isn’t familiar with Doe or her former situation.
Allred said that in May of 1993, Doe learned she was pregnant with Walker’s child. “My client did not want to have an abortion.”
Allred added that Walker allegedly said concerning things, making Doe fear he was going to commit suicide, or harm her and the baby if she did give birth.
Walker previously called Doe’s accusations “a lie.” But Allred and Doe said Tuesday that Walker himself is lying.
“We have overwhelming evidence which supports the relationship between my client and Herschel Walker, including letters, audio recordings, diaries, cards, notes, photos and a declaration from a friend,” Allred said.
She continued: “We are here today to challenge Mr. Walker. Mr. Walker, do you have the courage to meet with Jane Doe, look her in the eye, and tell her that you do not know her? That you never told her how much you loved her? That you never met with her parents, or wrote them a letter, in your own handwriting in April 1993? That you did not make phone calls to her, telling her how much you loved her when you were at the Olympics in 1992? Mr. Walker, do you deny that it is your voice on the following audio recordings?”
Allred then played an old voice message from a man she says is Walker. In the recording, the man says, “Ah you, this is your stud farm calling, you big sex puppy, you. Can’t believe you’re not in. I will talk to you later, you be sweet. Bye bye.”
Allred also played an audio clip featuring voices that sound like Walker and Doe’s, in which the speakers are saying “I love you” back and forth.
Elsewhere in the press conference, Allred read from a letter that Walker allegedly sent her client’s parents in April 1993.
“First, I’d like to say Happy Easter. I wanted to say how I feel about [Jane Doe]. Sorry I didn’t talk to you two when you were in Dallas, my problem is going slow, I don’t want to say anything that is wrong,” the letter reads.
It continues: “I didn’t want you two to think I’m a joke. I know now if you two are to understand, I have to say something. I do love your daughter, and I am not out to hurt her. She has been a strong backbone to me through all of this. She has not done anything wrong. If you two think what I’m doing is wrong, I will withdraw until I am out of this mess. I am sorry if I have put your family through so much. … I do love your Jane. I will always.”
Asked why she chose to come forward now, all these years later, the woman told reporters she had “intended to take this to my grave.” But after similar allegations surfaced from other women, and Walker denied them, she decided to go public.
“I knew that he was lying based on my own experience,” she said through tears, “and I needed to come forward.”
In an interview that aired earlier this month on Good Morning America, the unidentified woman said Walker had pressured her to have the abortion when she got pregnant in 1993, amid a six-year affair with the then-married football player.
“He was very clear that he did not want me to have the child,” the woman said. “And he said that … because of his wife’s family, that powerful people around him — that I would not be safe, and that the child would not be safe.”
The woman added that the comments were “very menacing.”
“And I felt threatened,” she said. “I thought I had no choice.”
The woman said she went to an abortion clinic and initially could not go through with the procedure, ultimately returning after Walker convinced her.
“He came to my house and picked me up, drove me to the clinic, and I went in alone,” she said, adding that Walker gave her cash to pay for the abortion. “He waited in the car while I went in and had the procedure.”
The woman is the second to come forward in recent weeks claiming that Walker — who’s said he’s staunchly anti-abortion — pressured her to terminate her pregnancy after he learned she was expecting his child.
Like the second woman, Walker denied the claims of the first woman, calling them “lies.”
The first woman to accuse Walker of pressuring her to have an abortion told The Daily Beast that the athlete paid for her to undergo the procedure, providing the outlet “proof of her romantic relationship with Walker,” as well as a $575 receipt from the abortion clinic, and an image of a signed $700 personal check from Walker alongside a “get well” card.
In the wake of that report, Walker told Fox News host Sean Hannity, “I send out so many get well — I send out so much of anything. But I can tell you right now, I never asked anyone to get an abortion. I never paid for an abortion, and it’s a lie. And I’m going to continue to fight.”
Walker will face off against Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock in a Georgia runoff election next month to determine who wins the Senate race after the candidates came in neck-and-neck in this month’s general election, with neither reaching the required 50% vote threshold to win the race outright.
Kanye West Used Reportedly Porn, Intimate Photos of Kim Kardashian, Bullying and 'Mind Games' to Control His Yeezy Staff
In a new report by Rolling Stone, it appears former Yeezy and Adidas staffers who used to work for Kanye West have come forward to detail Kanye’s uncontrollable and offensive office behavior.
According to the report, Kanye used intimidation tactics that were provocative, sexual in nature, and often directed toward women — among other things.
He even reportedly resorted to showing staffers porn and intimate photos of his then-wife, Kim Kardashian.
via Rolling Stone:
In the month since Adidas severed ties with West amid a hail of hate speech, more than two dozen former Yeezy and Adidas staffers have described to Rolling Stone an abusive office culturethat left many of them fearing for their livelihoods. Behind the scenes, thiscelebrity boss did more than testthe boundaries of professionalism: Former Yeezy and Adidas staffers and creative collaborators claim that he played pornography to Yeezy staff in meetings; discussed porn and showed an intimate photograph of Kim Kardashian in job interviews; and showed an explicit video and photos of Kardashian as well as his own sex tapes to Yeezy team members.
Now, a revelatory open letter by prominent former members of the Yeezy team insists that leaders from Adidas were aware of West’s “problematic behavior” but “turned their moral compass off,” raising questions about whether his corporate partner could have stepped in years ago.
“There was no accountability,” says a person at the Qinyuan meeting. “Difficult moments happened, with executives in the room — VP level or higher — and nothing would be done. You’d still show up to work the next day.”
On Tuesday night, several former high-ranking employees for Yeezy sent the scathing letter to the executive board members and newly installed CEO of Adidas, urging them to address “the toxic and chaotic environment that Kanye West created” and “a very sick pattern of predacious behavior toward women” who worked under West as part of the Yeezy-Adidas partnership. The letter, a copy of which was obtained exclusively by Rolling Stone, continues: “He has, in years past, exploded at women in the room with offensive remarks, and would resort to sexually disturbing references when providing design feedback. This type of response from a brand partner is one that Adidas employees should never be subjected to, nor should Adidas leadership ever tolerate.”
In response to multiple detailed lists of questions from Rolling Stone, a spokesperson for Adidas provided a brief statement saying, in part, that the company “will not discuss private conversations, details, or events that lead [sic] to our decision to terminate the Adidas Yeezy partnership and decline to comment on any related speculation.” West, who recently stopped working with his publicist and was dropped as a client by his high-profile attorneys, could not be reached for comment through direct messages or intermediaries.
In public, West has referred to a “full-on pornography addiction” that “destroyed my family” and to sex as a design inspiration. Privately, multiple former Yeezy and Adidas staffers regret accepting what they agreed was an unwritten rule from Adidas management — “Kanye is just Kanye” — and underestimating what they once viewed as relatively harmless comments. But the writers of the letter — titled “The Truth About Yeezy: A Call to Action for Adidas Leadership” — accuse the company of lacking “responsibility, accountability, and protection that Adidas failed to provide their employees throughout what we experienced as years of verbal abuse, vulgar tirades, and bullying attacks.”
WEST TRANSPLANTED YEEZY from Nike to Adidas in late 2013. A few months later, he invited a rising creative, whom he’d only met once over the phone, to his Tulum, Mexico-inspired home in the Hollywood Hills. The creative was excited about a potential collaboration and recalls West, within minutes of stepping into the living room, beckoning them to check out his laptop.
Instead of anything resembling work, however, the collaborator claims West had hardcore pornography on the screen. “He showed me the video of Francesca Le, a buff porn star with a strap-on dildo fucking another girl in the ass,” the former collaborator tells Rolling Stone. “He’s like, ‘What do you think of it?’ Not laughing at all.”Two other creatives, including one associated with Yeezy’s early years, claim West had also shown them pornographic videos — including homemade sex tapes of West engaging in sexual activities with women.
Not to defend Kanye, but if Adidas knew about all this and didn’t care while they were in partnership — why care now? They enabled Kanye’s poor behavior because he made them money — and they should take blame as well.

Rayshard Brooks' family reaches $1 million settlement with city of Atlanta
The family of Rayshard Brooks has officially reached a settlement with the city of Atlanta.
According to CNN, Brooks’ loved ones will receive $1 million from the Georgia city nearly two years after the 27-year-old was shot and killed by Atlanta police in a Wendy’s parking lot. “The family of Rayshard Brooks is pleased to have reached a settlement with the city of Atlanta that resolves their civil case. This grieving family has been through so much during this process,” said attorneys L. Chris Stewart, Justin Miller, Dianna Lee, Brian Spears, Jeff Filipotis and Wingo Smith in an official statement released Tuesday (Nov. 22). “Although the children of Mr. Brooks have lost their father, settling the case will undoubtedly assist them with future plans as they come of age.”
As previously reported by REVOLT, the two police officers responsible for the fatal shooting of Brooks in June 2020 were cleared of both murder and assault charges this past August. Georgia’s Special Prosecutor Peter Skandalakis stated that both Garrett Rolfe and Devin Brosnan “acted as reasonable officers would under the facts and circumstances of the events of that night.” He added, “Both acted in accordance with well-established law and were justified in the use of force regarding the situation.”
In the announcement of today’s news, Brooks’ family attorneys revealed that they aren’t giving up in the fight for justice surrounding his death. “While we are disappointed that the prosecutors didn’t pursue a criminal case against the officers involved in Mr. Brooks’ death, we continue to hold out hope that the Dept. of Justice will intervene in this matter,” read the statement. At this time, the city of Atlanta has not issued a response to the statement. Following the fatal shooting, citizens of Atlanta burned the Wendy’s restaurant down in response to yet another life loss at the hands of police brutality.
Doctor reportedly spent three hours trying to save Shanquella Robinson at resort before her death
According to a police report obtained by The Charlotte Observer, a medical practitioner from a local hospital spent almost three hours trying to save Shanquella Robinson’s life at the Fundadores Beach Club in San JosΓ© del Cabo.
The police report stated that medical assistance was requested at 2:13 p.m. on Oct. 29 by one of the six friends believed to have been at the resort with Robinson. Dr. Karolina Beatriz Ornelas GutiΓ©rrez, of the American Medical Center, said Robinson, who she was told had “drunk a lot of alcohol,” had stable vital signs but was dehydrated and unable to talk.
GutiΓ©rrez told the group of friends that she wanted to transfer Robinson to a hospital, but they insisted that she got treated at the resort, where the doctor unsuccessfully tried to give her IV fluids. The police report stated that after about an hour, Robinson suffered a seizure and at about 4:20 p.m., “The patient’s friend, named Wenter Donovan, called 911 to request an ambulance.” While they waited, Robinson began to show difficulty breathing and when her pulse lowered, they gave her rescue breaths. GutiΓ©rrez and one of the friends started CPR at about 4:49 p.m., but her heart stopped beating. The police reportedly arrived at 5:25 p.m.
This report differs from details previously reported from the 25-year-old’s death certificate. The document claimed that she had died within 15 minutes of suffering a spinal cord injury. As previously reported by REVOLT, on Oct. 28, Robinson left Charlotte, North Carolina to go on a trip with her friends to Cabo, Mexico. A day later, she was pronounced dead.
Cellphone footage surfaced online of Robinson being brutally beaten while naked by one of her friends in a bedroom of their vacation rental. At least two other people were present during the altercation, and you can hear one of them telling her to “fight back.”
Since her death, the FBI and Mexican law enforcement have launched investigations on how she died. Despite her friends telling her parents that she suffered from alcohol poisoning, Robinson’s death was upgraded to “criminal matter.” The lack of evidence and conflicting explanations from her friends has invoked global outcry with countless people closely following Robinson’s death. The hashtag #JusticeForShanquella has been trending all over the internet.

"I turned down a movie because I didn't want to get the motherf---ing jab," the actor and rapper said on a new episode of the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast. "I turned down $9 million. I didn't want to get the jab. F--- that jab. F--- y'all for trying to make me get it. I don't know how Hollywood feels about me right now."
Cube doesn't refer to the film project in question, but reports that he departed Sony comedy Oh Hell No after declining a request from producers to get vaccinated made headlines last year. The film, which hails from Bad Trip director Kitao Sakurai and would've co-starred Jack Black, was set to shoot in Hawaii and required the cast to be vaccinated.
Later in the podcast, Cube clarified that he "didn't turn down the movie" per se, but "those motherf---ers didn't give it to me because I wouldn't get the shot." He continued, "I didn't turn it down. They just wouldn't give it to me. The COVID shot, the jab. I didn't need it. I didn't catch that sh-- at all. Nothing. F--- them. I didn't need that sh--."
Reps for Sony didn't immediately respond to EW's request for comment about Cube's interview.
Vaccination among cast and crew of productions in Hollywood have become issues on set of multiple film and TV projects. A number of actors, including 9-1-1's Rockmond Dunbar and General Hospital's Steve Burton, have departed their respective shows to avoid vaccine mandates, which have recently begun to loosen. As of earlier this month, Disney no longer requires vaccinations for the casts of U.S. productions, including Grey's Anatomy and Station 19, among others.
James Cameron says Leonardo DiCaprio nearly lost Titanic role because he didn't want to audition
James Cameron and Leonardo Dicaprio on the set of 'Titanic'
Leonardo DiCaprio is Jack Dawson, Jack Dawson is Leonardo DiCaprio, facts are facts, and in the words of CΓ©line Dion, that's the way it is.
But James Cameron recently revealed that DiCaprio's hot-young-actor-on-the-rise attitude nearly cost him the role that made him a movie star.
Titanic (heard of it?) was a big gamble in 1995 when Cameron was looking to cast his doomed lovers. He had considered Gwyneth Paltrow for Rose DeWitt Bukater until he met Kate Winslet, who was "fantastic." DiCaprio, meanwhile, was at or near the top of the list for Jack.
"There was a meeting with Leo, and then there was a screen test with Leo," Cameron recently told GQ. "The meeting was funny because I am sitting in my conference room, waiting to meet an actor. And I look around, and all the women in the entire office are in the meeting for some reason. There's a female executive producer, okay, fine, but our accountant? They all wanted to meet Leo. It was hysterical. I looked around, and I went, 'I think I already know the answer to the question here.'"
While everyone (including the accountant) was charmed by DiCaprio, Cameron wanted to make sure he and Winslet would have the kind of chemistry that could sell nude figure drawing. DiCaprio came back, thinking he was just going to meet his would-be leading lady, only to find that Cameron expected him — the Oscar-nominated star of What's Eating Gilbert Grape who had just set young hearts running free as Romeo in Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet — to read for the part.
Cameron says DiCaprio told him, "Oh, I don't read." That's when Cameron shook the burgeoning heartthrob's hand and said, "Well, thanks for coming by." According to the director, a shocked DiCaprio replied, "Wait, wait, wait, if I don't read, I don't get the part. Just like that?'"
Cameron says he explained to DiCaprio that Titanic was "a giant movie that is going to take two years of my life, and you'll be gone doing five other things while I'm doing post-production. So I'm not going to f— it up by making the wrong decision in casting. So you're going to read, or you're not going to get the part."
DiCaprio sucked it up and dragged his bangs to the screen test where, Cameron says, "every ounce of his entire being is entirely negative right up until I said, 'Action,' and then he turned into Jack. And Kate just lit up and they went into this whole thing and he played the scene. Dark clouds had opened up, a ray of sun came down and lit up Jack. I'm like, 'All right, he's the guy.'"
And the rest is history, which, in the other words of CΓ©line Dion, "will go on and on and ooooooooooonnnn."
Charles Barkley Explains Why He Hasn't Spoken to Michael Jordan in Almost 10 Years
Charles Barkley is addressing his longtime feud with former close friend Michael Jordan.
While appearing on Tom Brady‘s Let’s Go! podcast, Charles, 59, revealed that he hasn’t talked to Michael, also 59, in almost 10 years after he “said something that offended” the Bulls legend.
“I think probably, me and Michael were best friends, that’s probably the most prominent thing,” Charles responded when Tom asked if there have been any ramifications for giving his opinions throughout his TV career.
“Michael Jordan, losing his friendship was probably the most prominent thing that’s happened to me. But I was being honest about what I thought. I said, ‘Listen, the toughest thing about Michael, he’s got to put better people around him,’” Charles recalled. “Because the toughest thing, when you’re famous, they’re on your private jet, you’re buying all the drinks, you’re buying all the dinners. Very few people are gonna be honest with you.”
He continued, “I try to surround myself with people like, ‘hey, if I’m screwing up, please tell me.’ And Michael got offended about something I said about him. And we haven’t spoken in probably almost 10 years. And he was my best friend at the time. And I love the dude like a brother and we’re both stubborn and we haven’t talked.”
Charles is referring to the comments he made in his 2012 interview on The Waddle & Silvy Show on ESPN 1000, when he said Michael “has not done a good job” as the majority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats (now the Hornets) and the team had the NBA’s worst record at 4-29.
“I think the biggest problem has been I don’t know if he has hired enough people around him who he will listen to,” Charles said at the time, according to ESPN. “One thing about being famous is the people around you, you pay all their bills so they very rarely disagree with you because they want you to pick up the check. They want to fly around on your private jet so they never disagree with you. I don’t think Michael has hired enough people around him who will disagree.”

One of Jay‘s cars burst into flames and left him with burns on his face. He was reportedly underneath the car when the fire broke out. He was then taken to Grossman Burn Center for injuries and underwent two surgeries during his 10-day stay.
Viral Friends Jamal Hinton and Wanda Dench to Continue Heartwarming Thanksgiving Tradition for 7th Year
Jamal Hinton will soon resume his annual Thanksgiving tradition: dinner at Wanda Dench's home.
The newfound friends went viral seven years ago when Jamal tweeted out a text exchange between him and Wanda, a stranger who had accidentally texted Jamal thinking he was her grandson. Though Jamal told Wanda he wasn't her grandson, he followed up with, "Can I still get a plate though?" Wanda agreed and invited him over because "that's what grandmas do ... feed everyone."
Jamal and Wanda have kept up their tradition since then, with Jamal documenting the annual celebration on social media. Now, Jamal is sharing preparations are underway for their seventh year as they plan to feast together once again in Arizona.
"To answer all your questions, yes Thanksgiving year 7 is planned out!" Jamal tweeted on Nov. 22, with a photo of him and Wanda outside a Cheesecake Factory restaurant. "See you guys Thursday!"
That's not the only time fans will be seeing the duo. As Jamal announced in December 2021, they both partnered with Netflix to share their story on the "big screen" in the future.
Outside of their famed tradition, the friends-turned-internet-stars share a special bond. Per an NPR article published last November, Jamal has travel to pumpkin patches and shared gifts with Wanda and her late husband, Lonnie, who passed away in 2020 from COVID-19 complications.
His passing was felt heavily by Wanda, who was hesitant to host Thanksgiving that year.
"I wasn't looking forward to [Thanksgiving dinner] at first because Lonnie wasn't going to be there," Wanda shared in an 2020 CNN interview. "The past seven months have been so difficult, but this was really important to me."
Dinner that year, though, went on as planned and the two "just told jokes and stories and shared our memories of Lonnie," Jamal told NPR last year, "so it was amazing."
Jamal shared that it puts a smile on her face to see how her friendship with Wanda has touched people on the internet.
"This story has been amazing from the start to the finish," Jamal said. "It actually helps me get through the year sometimes to see so many uplifting comments, to see so many people looking forward to our story that I just love it all."
Laurence Fishburne Spent Years in Therapy After Abusing His First Wife
*Laurence Fishburne is famously known for playing Ike Turner in the biopic “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” but many fans may not know that the actor himself once underwent therapy after subjecting his first wife to physical abuse.
The Emmy award-winning got candid about his abusive past in a new interview with Jemele Hill for her podcast “Jemele Hill Is Unbothered.” The award-winning journalist asked Fishburne about getting into character to play Ike Turner, who abused his ex-wife, music icon Tina Turner.
“Having had some experience with that as a young man, I did a lot of counseling,” Fishburne said of playing Ike Turner, as reported by MadameNoire.
“I found a great African American therapist who helped me deal with my anger issues,” Fishburne continued.
“Because I had been physical with my first wife. I got married when I was twenty-three years old, my first wife was twenty-one,” he said of his ex, Hajna O. Moss. “And our relationship was very volatile. And I was physically abusive with my first wife, to my regret, and to my shame.”
Fishburne continued, “So, I was very familiar with the territory and with the emotional landscape of what, you know, brings a person to that place. Where they feel the need to be abusive to their partner.”
Fishburne said he was in therapy for about five years working through his emotional issues.
“I didn’t really, specifically, work on the source of my anger,” he explained to Jemele. “It was really about how to recognize it when it was coming up, what my triggers were, and what were the behaviors that I could use that would counter it. That would help me to move in a different direction.”
Tiffany Cross Hires Powerhouse Attorney to Take On MSNBC After Firing
*Ex-MSNBC host Tiffany Cross is gearing up for a legal battle against the network and she has reportedly hired powerhouse attorney Bryan Freedman to represent her in the fight.
Freedman previously helped Gabrielle Union in her discrimination case against NBC when she served as a judge on “America’s Got Talent.” According to Page Six, Cross has hired Freedman to take on MSNBC after she allegedly vowed to “take down” the network and its boss, Rashia Jones, following her firing.
“She made calls saying, ‘I’m going out in a blaze and I’m taking down the network and going after Rashida,’” a source told NY Post about Cross.
We reported previously via Variety, citing MSNBC sources, that Cross’ relationship with the network had “becoming frayed” as executives grew “concerned about the anchor’s willingness to address statements made by cable-news hosts on other networks and indulging in commentary executives felt did not meet the standards of MSNBC or NBC News,” reports Forbes.
When she learned the network was going to part ways with her, Cross allegedly set out to take down Jones, who handpicked Cross to host a weekend show.
According to The New York Post, “The Cross Connection” was abruptly canceled when MSNBC decided not to renew her contract. While many assumed it was due to her speaking vulgarities on-air, an insider said it may have been her spending habits that got her the boot EURweb reported previously.
Per The Post report, “she also had been under fire for racking up as much as $100,000 in expenses for five-star hotel stays.” Cross allegedly e took trips to Los Angeles and the Super Bowl, calling them “work trips.”
“She mistook working in television news for being a celebrity,” the source said. “She was making north of $200,000 and she acted like she made $5 million.”
According to the insider, Jones “called Tiffany directly and said they won’t be renewing her contract, effective immediately.”
A source told Page Six that Cross “wants to know why she got fired” so she’s taking legal action.
Balenciaga Pulls Ads With Kids Holding Bondage-Clad Teddy Bears, Taking Legal Action Against ‘Parties Responsible’
Balenciaga has issued an apology after the fashion house was accused of sexualizing children in its recent advertisements.
Earlier this week, Balenciaga sparked backlash for a holiday campaign featuring photos of young kids holding teddy bears dressed in what appears to be bondage gear.
The label also landed itself in hot water for incorporating an image of a Supreme Court opinion in a child pornography case, which it admitted was “unsettling.”
It didn’t take long before social media users criticized Balenciaga’s advertisement. “The photos were taken by National Geographic photographer Gabriele Galimberti,” wrote Paper, “known for his photographs of children and ‘Toy Stories’ project and portfolio.”
On Tuesday, the brand took to social media to issue an apology for its actions.
“We sincerely apologize for any offense our holiday campaign may have caused,” a statement on Instagram read. “Our plush bear bags should not have been featured with children in this campaign. We have immediately removed the campaign from all platforms.”
As for the controversial Supreme Court ruling, Balenciaga wrote, “We apologize for displaying unsettling documents in our campaign. We take this matter very seriously and are taking legal action against the parties responsible for creating the set and including unapproved items for our Spring 23 campaign photoshoot. We strongly condemn abuse of children in any form. We stand for children safety and well-being.”
Vandal Responsible for Brick Attacks Against NYC Gay Bar Identified, Arrested: NYPD
The man police say is responsible for a spate of at least four brick-throwing vandalism attacks against a gay bar in Manhattan has been identified and arrested -- although as of now, he does not face hate crime charges.
Thirty-four-year-old Sean Kuilan, of Manhattan, was arrested Tuesday in connection to the brick-throwing incidents, police said.
Kuilan is facing criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief charges. However, at this time, the NYPD said he is not facing hate crime charges.

Kuilan is facing criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief charges. However, at this time, the NYPD said he is not facing hate crime charges in connection to the brick-throwing incidents.
Attorney information for Kuilan was not immediately known.
Video released Monday evening shows the man who allegedly threw a brick at the Hell's Kitchen bar Vers, on West 49th Street and Ninth Avenue. The video shows the suspect walking inside a bodega after the most recent alleged attack on Saturday night, which occurred at the peak of the evening's nightlife activity when the bar was filled with patrons.
Video from the bar's security camera captured the still-unidentified man walk up to the bar and hurl a brick at its window. The bar's owner says it's become an "unnerving" pattern.
"Last night and several other nights in the past week, a man has come by with a brick and smashed our window during service when people are here," David DeParolesa told News 4. "It's a pattern. It's the same window, it's a brick, it's a person that we finally caught on video last night."
The reinforced window took most of the force from the hurtled projectile, but the weekend incident was the fourth time someone has thrown something at the bar in recent weeks, DeParolesa said. The attack also fell on the same night a gunman opened fire at a gay nightclub in Colorado Springs, killing five people and injuring at least 18 others.
There have been 523 mass killings since 2006 resulting in 2,727 deaths as of Nov. 19
"There's a lot of heightened fear in the community from attacks happening all over the country, and we just want to make sure we're providing a safe space and that's what we're doing," DeParolesa said. "It’s meant to instill fear and instead of being fearful, I’m being emboldened and angry and ready to fight back."
The NYPD is also looking into possible motives for the attacks, and the case has been turned over to the Hate Crimes Task Force work to determine if hate is fueling the incidents, police said.
L’Oreal Being Sued By Four Black Women Who Claim Its Relaxer Products Caused Them to Develop Cancer
L’OrΓ©al is being sued by four Black women who claim its relaxer products caused them to develop uterine cancer and other serious health issues.
According to NBC News, Rhonda Terrell, 55, underwent a hysterectomy and chemotherapy after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of uterine cancer that spread to her abdomen and liver. Bernadette Gordon, 49, underwent a hysterectomy and double mastectomy, along with months of chemotherapy, after she was diagnosed with uterine and breast cancer.
In addition, both Rugieyatu Bhonopha, 39, and Jenny Mitchell, 32, also underwent hysterectomies after being diagnosed with uterine cancer.
All of the women have claimed to use the company’s hair straightening products throughout the years.
Gorden said she used the product from 1983-2015, and Terrell admitted to using the product from age 8 to her early 40s.
“If I had known all those years ago, if they had a warning on the box to say this could cause cancer, I wouldn’t have used it,” Terrell explained. “And I want to hold them accountable because I have granddaughters.”
Bhonopha told NBC, “It’s a hard thing to have to come to the realization that you’re dealing with fibroids, pregnancy loss.” She said, “And you had no inkling that these products were dangerous. You didn’t know that any of these harmful products were in it. Obviously, you wouldn’t have used them if you knew.”
According to a study published last month by the National Institutes of Health, women who use hair-straightening chemicals are twice as likely to develop uterine cancer as women who do not.
Dr. Che-Jung Chang has said that Black women are at risk of having more health problems than their counterparts.
He said, “Because Black women use hair straightening or relaxer products more frequently and tend to initiate use at earlier ages than other races and ethnicities, these findings may be even more relevant for them.”
According to NBC, all the women in the lawsuit said they hadn’t realized chemical hair straighteners increased their cancer risk until the study was published. They also claimed the packaging didn’t warn of any cancer risks.
L’OrΓ©al said in a statement that it is “confident in the safety of our products and believes the recent lawsuits filed against us have no legal merit.”
“L’OrΓ©al upholds the highest standards of safety for all its products,” the company said. “Our products are subject to a rigorous scientific evaluation of their safety by experts who also ensure that we follow strictly all regulations in every market in which we operate.”
