#FASHIONFAB: Fendace Drops May 12 Worldwide with Top Models Campaign by Steven Meisel

Fendace Drops May 12 Worldwide with Top Models Campaign by Steven Meisel AOC Fashion

The highly-anticipated Fendace collection — a powerhouse, experiment between two great Italian fashion houses: Fendi and Versace — will drop on May 12, with a worldwide series of events and pop-ups in Dubai, London, Kuwait, New York, Osaka, Paris, Shenyang, Tokyo and more locations. The pop-ups are the only locations to sell the entire pre-fall 2022 collection.

The business synergy between these two iconic Italian brands is producing astonishing results — given that they are direct competitors owned by two mega-luxury fashion houses. LVMH is the majority stockholder in Fendi and Versace is owned by Capri Holdings.

Atypical of the traditional high/low brand collab or Gucci hacking into sister brand Balenciaga, and then Balenciaga vice versa in the next season, Fendace is a meeting of equals — with success shared by luxury conglomerate competitors.

Steven Meisel lensed the Fendace advertising campaign, with videos by Alec Maxwell. The campaign images include Adut Akech, Amar Akway, Anja Rubik, Anok Yai, Imaan Hammam and Lina Zhang entering  a Fendace nightclub.

Meeting them at the door are two highly-unusual bouncers in the forms of Kristen McMenamy and Naomi Campbell.

The concept behind the swapping is unique. Rather than collaborating on a single unified fashion collection, Kim Jones, Fendi’s women’s wear artistic director and Silvia Venturini Fendi, Fendi’s men’s wear designer created new styles of fashion pieces and accessories after spending time in the Versace archives. Similarly Donatella Versace created new pieces from the Fendi archives.

The results are Versace, frankly, given its lavish use of unmistakable logos, prints, safety-pins, gold-gold-gold and other legendary iconic touches from the house of Versace. Flipping Fendi ‘F’s around off  the diagonal suddenly gives us a Versace-looking border. In AOC’s opinion, there is something powerful in play here.

#RHOA: Marlo Hampton Sends Support For BFF NeNe Leakes Following 'RHOA' Lawsuit

Marlo Hampton is keeping tight-lipped on her close friend NeNe Leakes’ lawsuit against the team behind “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”

“You know, we’re going to leave that where it’s at. Just sending my sister some love and kisses, and we’re gonna keep talking about me and my peach and how it’s my time to shine, baby,” the new “Housewife,” 46, told “Extra” Wednesday when asked about the legal drama.

Leakes’ on-again, off-again friend Kandi Burruss, meanwhile, told Page Six exclusively that she has “no opinion” on the suit.

“I don’t think anything [of it],” Burruss, 45, told us Tuesday. “I don’t have anything to say about it. Never! Absolutely have no opinion.”

Leakes, 54, made headlines last week when she sued the companies behind “RHOA” for allegedly fostering a racist work environment.

The former “RHOA” star, who is black, claimed she had discussed with executives “racially offensive and stereotypical” comments made by co-star Kim Zolciak, who is white, but that only negatively affected Leakes.

The lawsuit named NBCUniversal, Bravo, production companies True Entertainment and Truly Original, various executives and “Real Housewives” executive producer Andy Cohen as defendants — but notably not Zolciak.

“NBC, Bravo and True foster a corporate and workplace culture in which racially-insensitive and inappropriate behavior is tolerated — if not, encouraged,” the suit read.

Meanwhile, both Leakes and Zolciak, 43, appear to be living life as normal.

The former “Glee” star has continued to promote events at her Linnethia Lounge in Duluth, Ga., while the “Don’t Be Tardy” singer has been sipping on Chili’s margaritas.

Leakes starred on “RHOA” from Seasons 1 to 7 and 10 to 12.

Zolciak was also a “RHOA” OG until she quit in the middle of Season 5 in 2012. She later returned as a “friend” for Season 10.

Lizzo Has No Idea How Beyonce Found A Baby Picture Of Her To Use For A Birthday Message

While collaborations with Beyonce and other artists are far and few nowadays, one way that Queen Bey interacts with her peers is by celebrating their birthdays with brief messages on her website. It’s something that fans and celebrities alike look forward to when someone’s birthday comes around. The latest example of that came with Lizzo who turned 34 last week. Beyonce showed love to the singer through a message on her website, but it’s the baby picture she used that took Lizzo by surprise.

Lizzo caught wind of Beyonce’s birthday message thanks to a screenshot of it on Twitter from the Beyonce fan account @BeyLegion. “BeyoncΓ©?!” Lizzo replied. “Where u get this pic?? I ain’t seen this since I was born [crying emoji].” With this message, it seems like Beyonce has some Nardwaur-type team equipped to get their hands on baby pictures that have yet to leave the plastic-wrapped pockets of family albums.

The funny interaction comes after Lizzo announced that her third album Special would arrive on July 15. So far, the project is led by “Rumors” with Cardi B and “About Damn Time.” She also stopped by SNL to perform “Special” and “About Damn Time.”

Brooklyn Subway Shooter Frank James’ Lawyers Say FBI Violated His Constitutional Rights

Attorneys representing accused New York subway shooter Frank James claim the FBI violated his constitutional rights.

According to CBS News, a new court filing reveals that defense attorneys for James say federal agents improperly questioned their client on Tuesday (April 26). They also accuse the bureau of taking DNA samples from James and directing him to sign documents without alerting his lawyers.

James is accused of setting off smoke grenades and firing a gun on a crowded train in Brooklyn on April 12, leaving more than two dozen people injured.

After a manhunt that lasted a day, the 62-year-old James was taken into custody on a street in Manhattan on April 27 without incident by NYPD officers, acting on a tip from an individual who saw him walking the streets.

“The defendant terrifyingly opened fire on passengers on a crowded subway train, interrupting their morning commute in a way the city hasn’t seen in more than 20 years,” Assistant U.S. attorney Sara K. Winik told a judge at the arraignment in federal court in Brooklyn, N.Y. “The defendant’s attack was premeditated, was carefully planned, and it caused terror among the victims and our entire city.”

James was arrested in Manhattan, more than 24 hours after 10 people were shot and 13 more injured in a crowded subway car in Brooklyn. According to ABC News, He was charged in a criminal complaint with committing a terrorist act on mass transportation and was transferred to federal custody. If convicted, James faces a maximum sentence of life in prison, according to Breon Peace, the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York.

The attack James is accused of alarmed New York, already reeling from stark increases in violent crime across its Five Boroughs during a morning commute. Police said James boarded a subway train in Brooklyn, and ignited two smoke bombs as the train moved with unwitting passengers aboard. As the train pulled into a hub station in the Sunset Park neighborhood, he pulled out a Glock 17 9mm pistol and fired 33 shots, hitting 10 people. Another 13 were injured from smoke inhalation or from trying to escape. He was unable to fire more shots because the gun jammed.

However, there were no life threatening injuries from the shooting, according to NYPD officials, and all of the victims are expected to recover.

“I’m sorry that she couldn’t hang on until today,” Ashley said while crying.

The family revealed on Saturday that Naomi died at the age of 76 due to “the disease of mental illness.”

“Though my heart is broken, I will continue to sing,” Wynonna said. She and Ashley recited Psalm 23 while saying goodbye to their mother.

Vanessa Bryant and Daughter Natalia Wish Gigi Bryant a Happy 16th Birthday: 'Love You Always'

Vanessa Bryant and her daughter Natalia Bryant are celebrating what would have been a special milestone in Gianna "Gigi" Bryant's life.

Gigi was born on May 1, 2006, making Sunday her 16th birthday. To mark the occasion, both Vanessa, 39, and Natalia, 19, paid tribute to the late basketball prodigy with separate posts on Instagram.

For her tribute, Vanessa shared a video she narrated, in the same style as her late husband Kobe Bryant's award-winning animated short Dear Basketball, featuring cartoon sketches of her late daughter and her passion for the sport her family loved so dearly.

"Dear Gianna, from the first time you imagined winning a WNBA championship, I knew one thing was real — you were special," Vanessa said in the voiceover. "You came from greatness, but it was never about what you inherited. It was about what you gave to others."

She continued, "When someone stands up for gender equality, I see you standing up alongside them. And every time someone plays her hardest, I know that's you on the court. Love you always, basketball."

In the caption, Vanessa wrote, "Love you always! Happy Birthday, Gianna. πŸ˜˜❤πŸ₯° #Mambacita #2 ️."

Meanwhile, Natalia shared a throwback photo of herself as a child kissing Gigi's cheek as her sister grinned from ear to ear. Alongside the adorable image, the eldest sibling said she will love her sister "forever & always."

"Happy sweet sixteen my dearest gigi♥️," Natalia wrote. "I love you to the moon and back πŸŒ™."

It has been more than two years since Gigi and her father Kobe died in a helicopter crash in California. At the time, Gigi was less than four months away from her 14th birthday.

Two weeks ago on April 18, Vanessa honored what would have been her 21st wedding anniversary with Kobe with another heartfelt Instagram post. The philanthropist marked the occasion with an old photo of herself wrapping her arms around the NBA legend from behind and a brief message for her late love.

"I love you forever, baby," Vanessa captioned her post. "Happy Anniversary @kobebryant#21 ️."

The month prior, Vanessa and Nike renewed their partnership in honor of Kobe and Gigi. At the time, Vanessa said she is "so proud that my husband's shoes are still the most worn by players on NBA courts and that the demand for his shoes remain so desired by his fans around the world."

Human Remains Found in Texas Identified As Girlfriend Of Ex-NFL Player Kevin Ware

Human remains discovered in Texas back in December have now been identified as Taylor Pomaski, the missing girlfriend of ex-NFL tight end Kevin Ware.

Taylor Pomaski, 29, was last seen hosting a house party at her home in Spring, Texas on April 25, 2021. Her remains were discovered in a ditch near Harris County on Dec. 10, and the county’s Sheriff’s Department confirmed to NBC News that the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences had found them to be a match to Pomaski.

“The investigation is still open and active and homicide investigators are diligent on bringing this case to a close,” said Senior Deputy Thomas Gilliland in an e-mail to NBC News.

Pomaski had been residing with Ware, 40, when she was reported missing last May. Ware, who is a former tight end for the San Francisco 49ers, was questioned about her disappearance in June but was not named a suspect by prosecutors until he was arrested for an unrelated bond violation by the U.S. Marshals Service at a strip mall in Spring. Ware had allegedly failed to report for bond supervision related to a previous gun and drug charge he faced.

Ware’s attorney Coby DuBose told The New York Post that the NFL footballer had been cooperative throughout the entire investigation.

“He’s told the police everything that he knows and he’s led them through his house. He’s let them in his home, and that’s really all we’re going to say about that,” DuBose said. No charges have been filed against Ware, and he has been residing in Montogomery County Jail for 10 months.

Stevie Wonder to receive honaray degree from Wayne State University

Wayne State University will honor Stevie Wonder with an honorary degree at its spring 2022 commencement.

The legendary entertainer is one of five honorees the Detroit-based school will celebrate. Actor Tim Meadows will also be honored.

The school’s website states that Wonder will receive the doctor of humane letters, honoris causa “in recognition of his contributions as an iconic musician and to honor his advocacy for civil rights and the disabled community.”

Wonder’s accomplishments and accolades span decades, so it may have been tough for the school to list them all in its site. Nevertheless, the university put together a couple paragraphs to further explain why Wonder is deserving. They refer to him as Stevland Hardaway Morris.

“A native of Saginaw, Michigan, Morris has struggled with visual impairment his entire life. He started his musical career as the child prodigy Little Stevie Wonder. Today, Morris is one of the world’s best-selling musicians, with more than 100 million records sold,” the site reads.

“Morris has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Civil Rights Museum and the U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom. He led the 18-year effort to make Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday a national holiday, and his fight against racial injustice continues with his support for Black Lives Matter.”

Wonder has also received honorary degrees from Northwestern University, Yale, and Tulane University.

At Tulane’s 2011 commencement, Stevie put on two impromptu performances. He played his harmonica to “Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans,” which is a song that is  traditionally played at Tulane commencements.

He later sat down at a piano to perform his hit song, “You Are the Sunshine of My Life.”

The acclaimed singer will receive his honorary degree Saturday (May 7) during the 1 p.m. ceremony at the new Wayne State University Fieldhouse.

Kelly Rowland Wants Fans To Be Surprised If Destiny’s Child Reunite

Could a Destiny’s Child reunion happen in the near future? This week, while promoting her new children’s book, Always With You, Always With Me, Kelly Rowland said that she wouldn’t be opposed to the idea.

The 41-year-old star reassured fans that if she and her bandmates Michelle Williams and BeyoncΓ© were to ever reunite, it would be a “pleasant surprise” for Destiny’s Child stans.

“We love everybody so much that we wouldn’t toy with it, but I do think that… you would deserve a surprise,” she told Entertainment Tonight during an exclusive interview.

“I feel like everything is just so planned so we see it before it happens and we see the process right after it happens. It’s just a lot. We deserve spontaneity, we desire to be surprised and I would hope Destiny’s Child would be a pleasant surprise.”

The “Motivation” hitmaker echoed a similar sentiment while speaking with AP News this week. When asked if there was a possibility of reuniting with the group’s original members LeToya Luckett, LaTavia Roberson, and Farrah Franklin, Rowland said she “could definitely see it.”

“We’ll see what happens. LeToya and I, actually last year, we just got out babies together,” Rowland gushed, before adding that it was beautiful to see her former groupmates thriving in motherhood. “It’s just really beautiful to see the ladies as women. We’re all women now,” she laughed.

Before Michelle, Kelly, and BeyoncΓ© took the world by storm as Destiny’s Child in the late 90s and 2000s, the group went through a few name changes and lost a few groupmates along the way.

The girl group was formed in Houston under the name Girl’s Tyme in 1990. Back then, the original group consisted of BeyoncΓ©, LaTavia, Kelly, TΓ‘mar Davis, and sisters Nikki and Nina Taylor. Under the management of BeyoncΓ©’s father Mathew Knowles, the record executive pushed the girls to stardom, but sadly, the Taylor sisters were later cut and LeToya quickly took their place.

Upon signing to Elektra Records, the group changed their name to Destiny, but the quartet was dropped before they could release an album. In 1996, the stars hit it big when Mathew helped them to lock in a deal with Columbia Records, where they would take on the name Destiny’s Child, according to USA Today. The ladies dropped their self-titled debut album in February 1998 which featured the hit single “No, No, No Part 2.” A year later, the group released their sophomore album The Writing’s on the Wall, which spawned classics like “Bills, Bills, Bills,” “Bug a Boo,” “Say My Name” and “Jumpin’, Jumpin’.” However, as the singers climbed up the success ladder, more challenges began to appear. Luckett and Roberson left the group that year citing unfair treatment from Mathew. They also accused the music businessman of keeping too much of the group’s profits. Williams and Franklin were later added but Franklin left after five months of joining the group.

The trio recorded their final album Destiny Fulfilled in 2004 and a year later BeyoncΓ©, Kelly and Michelle called it quits, noting in a statement that they wanted to leave “on a high note, united in our friendship and filled with an overwhelming gratitude for our music, our fans and each other.”

Ashanti Doubles Down On Song Writing Credits For Jennifer Lopez

Ashanti has been a force in the R&B industry since the 90s. Around the time Ashanti was on the scene, Jennifer Lopez, aka JLo, would simultaneously be making a name for herself in the industry as the new edgy and beautiful talent. Her contributions to the R&B world would also influence the hip-hop culture, from famous collaborations with Murda Inc to her debut solo album that carries hits such as Foolish, Baby, Happy, and more.

While JLo has created her success in her career, many fans of the two sometimes don’t know that Ashanti contributed to singles such as “I’m Real” and “Aint it Funny.”

In an interview with Metro UK, Ashanti, who just received her star on the Hollywood walk of fame, explained the feeling behind receiving recognition for her songwriting credits.

“You should always care about credit for what you do regardless of what industry you’re in, it’s really important to give credit,” she stated. “Especially nowadays because things are so smoke and mirrors. It’s not that it’s frustrating… the word has been getting out there over the past couple of years and I’m grateful so a lot of people know and they were surprised but it’s more of a ‘yeah, grateful that you know.’

“It’s weird because obviously you get frustrated for not getting credit or not being properly labeled but then that turns into something you get admired for,” she continued.

Aside from her receiving her props for her early contributions, in an interview with The Breakfast Club in 2021, the singer revealed that she would be re-recording all of the songs on her debut self titled album so that she can own the master’s and rights to her music ahead of its 20th anniversary.

Tamar Braxton Opens Up with How She’s Coping with Death Following the Losses of Her Sister and Niece

Tamar Braxton is mourning the losses of her sister Traci Braxton and her niece Lauren Braxton.

Lauren, who passed away in April 2019 at 24, was the daughter of Michael Braxton Jr. At the time of Lauren’s death, it was reported that she suffered from a heart condition. In June of that same year, Lauren’s cause of death was revealed to be a heroin overdose and fentanyl intoxication.

Tamar Braxton opens up about dealing with death as she mourns the loss of her sister and niece.

On March 12, 2022, the Braxton family confirmed in a joint statement that Traci passed away following a battle with esophageal cancer at the age of 50. News outlets reported that Traci had been battling the disease for about a year following the statement.

In an Instagram post shared on April 29, Tamar opened up about the motions of grief. In the clip, the “Love & War” singer — who is in Maryland for a scheduled performance — expressed she was having a “sad day.”

While slightly mentioning her upcoming show, Tamar said, “I’m having a kind of sad day today. I’m trying to shake it, but that’s grief. And I was talking to my therapist, and I was made aware that this is the healthy side of grief. Sometimes you have good days. Sometimes you have bad days. You allow yourself to feel, and you move forward, so I will see you guys tomorrow.”

Alongside the clip, Tamar admitted in the caption the factors contributing to her sad day, including being in her hometown and not having her sister and niece around. She wrote, “As a child I remember wondering how my relationship with death would be like I was always afraid of the feeling. I was WAY off.”

The 45-year-old added, “It’s worse than imaginable. @lolobrax it’s been 3 years and we miss you like it was yesterday… and my @therealtracibraxton I’m in disbelief all over again. How can I be home in DC and you not be here… like NEVER coming back. I can’t even call you.”

As fans viewed Tamar’s upload, many sent love and well-wishes to the singer.

“Sending you LOVE, Queen!”

“So sorry for your losses. Praying for peace God got you.”

“I’m so deeply sorry for your loss.”

“Praying for you Sis. It never gets ‘easy.'”

This post comes almost two weeks after Tamar made her first public appearance on “Dish Nation” following the loss of her sister Traci.

Nick Cannon and Bre Tiesi set to babymoon in the Bahamas

Nick Cannon and pregnant Bre Tiesi have plans to babymoon in the Bahamas next week, Page Six has exclusively learned.

The actor and the expectant mother are set to host the one-year anniversary celebration of the Sugar Factory American Brasserie at its Baha Mar destination next Wednesday, an insider tells us, adding that Cannon will perform as a DJ for the evening.

Along with celebrating Tiesi’s pregnancy on their tropical babymoon getaway, we hear the pair will also commemorate Tiesi’s 30th birthday on May 5.

Cannon, 41, confirmed that he was expecting his 8th child, a baby boy, with Tiesi after photos surfaced of him by her side at a gender reveal party where she was visibly pregnant in January.

The “Drumline” star announced that after finding out he would be having an eighth child with five different women, he embarked on a celibacy journey.

He also shared in February that, unsurprisingly, he doesn’t believe in monogamy.

“I don’t think monogamy is healthy,” Cannon said on “The Language of Love” podcast with Dr. Laura Berman, adding, “I feel like that gets into the space of selfishness and ownership.”

Cannon also doubled down on his claim that all of the pregnancies of his children were planned.

“I’m going to take full responsibility. Any woman that I know that I have unprotected sex with, there’s the potential to have a child,” he had said. “So I feel like if I have unprotected sex with anyone I know – because one, I value everything about me so much, if I’ve gotten to that point where I say, ‘I can take off this condom,’ I’m gonna say, ‘She could be the mother of my child.’”

The “Alone” singer shares 10-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife Mariah Carey. He shares 5-year-old son Golden “Sagon” and 1-year-old daughter Powerful Queen with Brittany Bell and has 10-month-old twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion “Zilly” Heir with Abby De La Rosa.

Cannon shared the heartbreaking news that he and Alyssa Scott had lost their 5-month-old son, Zen, to brain cancer in December 2021.

In February, Cannon said he feels “heavy guilt” for not spending more time with Zen.

The monogamy critic, whose talk show was canceled after just six months, seemingly pined over his ex Carey in his song “Alone,” which dropped on Valentine’s Day this year. He was also spotted partying with ex-girlfriend Jessica White at an Upper East Side strip club in March.

Meanwhile, Tiesi was married to football player Johnny Manziel from 2018 to 2021.

Pete Davidson Jokes About Kanye Spreading Rumors He Has AIDS In Return To Stand-Up

Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson took the stage for the first time in three years for a stand-up comedy set on Thursday. During his Netflix Is A Joke: The Festival at the Hollywood Bowl, he joked about Kanye West spreading rumors he has AIDS.

During the sold-out show, he joked that “being humiliated is weird when you can’t do anything about it,” according to Entertainment Tonight. He also said he believed what Ye said about him because the rapper is a “genius.”

Ye has targeted Davidson since he began dating the rapper’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, last fall. West allegedly made unfounded claims that Davidson was gay and had AIDS in January. He also spread rumors the comedian was a junkie.

Davidson referred to a December basketball game he attended with Chris Rock and Jon Stewart during the set. He referred to it as during the “before time,” adding “before life was over.” For himself, that included the time before the turmoil with West, and for Rock, before he was slapped by Will Smith at the Oscars.

“First of all, let me thank Dr. Fauci and Dr. Ho, they both really helped me to be here,” the former NBA player began. “They helped me understand that I had to take my meds. I had to be comfortable with my new status. Make sure I kept a positive attitude and keep working out, and so I’ve been doing that. Here I am 30 years later.”

Johnson later thanked his wife, Cookie Johnson, for staying by his side during the scandal. He also spoke on becoming an advocate and trying to help others.

“That was everything, for me to heal, also for me to help people,” he added. “Especially in the black and brown communities. Because it was running rapidly through our community at that time. We brought the numbers down. I became the face, and I am happy about that.”

Magic was diagnosed with HIV in November 1991. At the time, Johnson was playing as the starting point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers. However, he later announced his retirement after learning he was HIV positive

New Study Links Marijuana Smoking To Increased Risk Of Cardiovascular Disease

A new study has shown an increased risk of cardiovascular disease in marijuana smokers who smoke at least once a month.

The study was published in the journal Cell on Friday. NBC News reports that researchers looked at about 160,000 people in the U.K. They controlled for age, gender, and body mass index, which influence the risk of heart disease.

Research found that people who frequently smoked cannabis were at a higher risk of a heart attack before age 50 than non-smokers. The study’s findings are on par with other similar research. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warns of a link between marijuana use and increased heart disease. A 2021 study showed a link between heart attacks and marijuana use in young adults.

“The public has this perception — in my opinion, misperception — that marijuana is completely safe, and it’s healthy for you,” said the study’s senior author and the director of the Stanford Cardiovascular Institute, Joseph Wu. “But in reality, this study shows a high dose of THC, the main component of marijuana, causes vascular inflammation.”

This latest study took a deep dive into why smoking weed can lead to heart issues. Researchers studied how THC affects both human stem cells and mice stem cells. It’s already known that THC binds with a receptor in the brain, but now researchers have found that it also binds to a receptor in blood vessels.

Since this part of the study was done on humans, more research is needed to determine if THC is directly linked to heart disease. Wu said human studies would offer more information...
