#RHOA: NeNe Leakes Reveals Why She Doesn’t Speak To Marlo Hampton
It has been a while since Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Nene Leakes appeared on her Instagram Live, but this week she returned and revealed that she hasn't spoken to current cast member Marlo Hampton. Fans were saddened to learn that the former best friends have not had any communication since Nene's departure after Season 12 of the hit Bravo show.
Many of Nene's followers were shocked when she mentioned she has not spoken to Marlo. The two have been on-again-off-again best friends since Marlo first appeared as a friend of the show on The Real Housewives of Atlanta back in Season 4. Nene, who was a cast member since the show started, and Marlo's friendship was more good than bad. The two larger-than-life personalities would often spar with other cast members, be seen throughout Atlanta together and would have each other's back season after season. Now, with Marlo being a full-time cast member, and Nene suing Andy Cohen, NBCUniversal, Bravo, True Entertainment, and Truly Original over claims of a hostile and racist working environment, their friendship is seemingly non-existent.
According to Radar Online, Nene mentioned that she and Marlo are both focused on themselves at the moment. Nene insists that there is no drama between the two. "I don't know what going on with these girls. I don't honey. I try not to keep up," Nene said during her Instagram Live, referring to if she watches the current season or not. During the Live, the former Glee star explains to her followers that reality shows will often show friendships being more than what it is, for the sake of the show. Before the live ends, Nene mentions that Bravo does not want ex-cast members talking to current cast members.
Although we have seen other examples of former casts on reality shows keeping their friendships going off camera, it wouldn't be a surprise if Bravo is making sure the current cast of RHOA is keeping far away from Nene. Earlier this year, Nene made headlines when she sued Bravo for discrimination. The New Normal star also accused the network and Andy of blacklisting her, even after 12 years with the platform.
It wouldn't be a surprise if the powers that be are making sure the current ladies of the franchise are keeping their distance. One of the last photos of Marlo and Nene together was at Greg Leakes' memorial. Marlo has wanted to become a full-time cast member for close to a decade, so surely she isn't willing to upset Bravo during her first season as a peach holder.

#HipHopNews: Pete Rock Calls Drill Music ‘Doo-Doo’ and Says It Disrupts the Soul
Drill music is one of the hottest sub-genres in the rap industry and is a global phenomenon. But veteran hip-hop producer Pete Rock recently called drill music "doo-doo" and said that it disrupts the soul.
On Friday (May 27), Pete Rock jumped on his Instagram account and shared a video post that has since been deleted featuring New York City Mayor Eric Adams addressing the violent nature of drill music and his plans to ban some of the genre's music videos on social media. In the post’s caption, the esteemed DJ and producer wrote about his disdain for the genre.
“Drill rap! That’s trash hop not hip-hop I been told y’all about this kinda shit,” Rock wrote. “IDC call me what you want but that kinda hip-hop is doo doo and it disrupts the soul I told y’all that already man lol smh. Nobody speaks up on this trash lol."
Pete Rock goes on to write that drill rap was made solely for corporate greed and is destroying hip-hop culture.
"Drill rap not even for the birds or the streets its the result of greed, people with no talent, and the destruction of the culture," he typed in his since-deleted post. "Y’all never see the play when it’s happening and everyone complains but does not speak up and say a word. Now this! This how we [are] going out? [It’s] on social media but who is really promoting this? Talk about that. smh."
Pete Rock’s criticism about drill music might make some rap fans frown, but the genre has been growing through some growing pains as of late.
Last April, the Bronx (N.Y.) District Attorney Darcel D. Clark and New York City Police Commissioner Keechant L. Sewell revealed a four-page, 82-count indictment related to 32 crimes, aided by music and videos, that surfaced from the city's drill music genre, involving 20 people. Some of those charges include conspiracy, murder, manslaughter, attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment, assault, attempted assault and grand larceny. Additionally, 18 guns were also recovered.
Before that, in February, rappers Fivio Foreign, Maino, B-Lovee and others had a meeting with Mayor Eric Adams to discuss the violent content in drill music and search for an immediate solution to curtail the violence that is coming from the genre.
Mayor Adams said that he and Maino would “roll out something together” following their discussion but nothing has come to fruition as of yet.
Barack Obama reunites with young man from viral "hair like mine" photo
The former president celebrated a full circle moment by attending the young man’s graduation.
Barack Obama and the young man who stole the internet with his 2009 image touching the former president’s hair have reunited, and the world looks a lot different since that viral Oval Office encounter.
During a visit to the White House alongside his father and former National Security Council staffer, Carlton Philadelphia, Jacob Philadelphia had one question for then-President Obama.
“Is your hair like mine?” he asked.
In true Obama fashion, the 44th President bowed down allowing the young man to take a peek for himself while former White House photographer Pete Souza captured the moment.
“Go ahead, touch it,” said Obama as he leaned over allowing Jacob to not only see his hair, but get a feel of it for himself.
People across the world celebrated the now-viral image that was titled Hair Like Mine. Now, Jacob is celebrating his high school graduation and even received a surprise call from a familiar face.
During a video call, the International School of Uganda graduate and Obama reflected on the moment that served as a catalyst of hope for more representation in positions of power that serve the nation.
“I think this picture embodied one of the hopes I had when I first started running for office,” Obama said. “Folks who maybe always didn’t feel like they belonged, they’d look at themselves differently.”
For Souza, capturing the moment happened so fast, but, it is one that will forever be cemented in Jacob’s memory.
“That was a pretty big highlight of my life,” Jacob told PEOPLE. “It is very wonderful to see representation in the government because if I get to see another Black man be at the top, be at that pinnacle, then I want to follow that lead.”
500 Black women celebrate having their student debts wiped out
A group of former students at Bennett College are celebrating the fact that they no longer owe money to the school thanks to this move by the Debt Collective.
The organization, which stemmed from the Occupy Wall Street movement, has officially paid off past due balances for roughly 500 former students at the all-women’s historically Black college based in North Carolina.
Thanks to the Debt Collective, a total of $1.7 million in student debt was cleared. Per the United Negro Fund, 462 former students received letters to let them know that the funds that they owed to the college had been paid off.
Bennett College President Suzanne Walsh, initially ignored the emails that came in from the organization regarding the debt owed by students.
“People just don’t reach out and say we can help your students pay off their debts,” said Walsh as she explained her skepticism in an interview with USA Today.
While the debts cleared do not include federal student loans, they are made up of charges that include tuition costs, unpaid parking tickets, and even overdue library fees. Thanks to the Debt Collective, the students will now be able to access academic records like transcripts opening up the opportunity for them to continue their education.
The institution was chosen because as an all-women HBCU, it speaks volumes to the challenges that Black women fact when pursuing higher education.
“These are the people that are really taking the brunt of the student debt crisis,” said the Debt Collective spokesperson, Braxton Brewington.
Thanks to a partnership alongside another nonprofit, Rolling Jubilee, the organization was able to purchase the student loan debt from Bennett who could have sold the debt to a collection agency.
Rolling Jubilee is a nonprofit that buys and forgives various forms of consumer debt which includes funds owed for medical and incarceration-related incidents. The total amount owed was purchased by the organization for $50,000 and completely prohibits Bennett from being able to collect the funds due in full.
Bobby Brown details Whitney Houston making the 1st move in doc
It's Bobby Brown's prerogative to dish some dirt in his A&E original biography — and he delivers.
Part one of the two-night event took place Monday and was chock full of juicy tidbits about the singer's decades in the spotlight. The singer gave his unfiltered takes on his rise to stardom, getting booted from New Edition after clashing with his bandmates over his scene-stealing antics and then striking out on his own as a solo performer in Biography: Bobby Brown. The performer known for his Gumby 'do lived an excessive lifestyle at the height of fame, dropping $1 million in a day just because, and that included an out of control sex life with him admitting he was a sex addict. Brown also detailed romances with Whitney Houston and Janet Jackson, and a fling with Madonna.
Despite how it ended, Brown and Houston had a full-blown love affair, which began at the 1989 Soul Train Awards. He recalled feeling good that night, being recognized for the first time for his solo career, then going backstage only to have the songbird dubbed "The Voice" hit on him.
"I remember that night like it was yesterday," Brown said. Not only did he pick up the award for Best R&B/Urban Contemporary Album of the Year – Male, but "it's also when I fell in love."
After performing "My Prerogative" and going backstage, "Whitney walked up and was bumping me. She just kept bumping me," he remembered. "I turned around and I said, 'You know you keep bumping me.' She said, 'I know.'"
"From there it was just love at first sight," he continued. "Something about her eyes made me melt inside. I said, 'If I ask you on a date, would you say yes?' She said, 'Of course.'"
Wasting no time, the next day they had their first date. It began with shopping in Beverly Hills, dinner at The Ivy and then "we just chilled for the rest of the evening." But the bad boy was smitten. "Just the way she looked at me from day one until the last day that we were together was always special."
While night two of the doc gets into the sex, drugs and ultimate combustion of the pairing as well as the tragic death of their only child, Bobbi Kristina, Brown talked about his affection for Houston on the documentary's first night. He also opened up about the "crush of my life," Jackson.
"I had a big crush on Janet," whom he dated prior to Houston. "What was it about Janet? Everything. Her little smile. Body. Her dance moves. Her little laugh."
And while they "loved each other's company," they "didn't have that long of a relationship. The reason me and Janet broke off, she couldn't be with a man like myself. I'm from the projects. I'm hood. Her father" and manager Joe Jackson, "wouldn't allow her to be with someone like me. Janet was the crush of my life, but I was about to meet the love of my life," Houston.
He also spoke about a fling with Madonna. Asked if he slept with the Material Girl, he replied, "We didn't do any sleeping."
Now 53, remarried to Alicia Etheredge and a dad to seven (five living), Brown spoke at length becoming a sex symbol, at just 15, and wild times with women that followed. He laughed about his crazy sexcapades, having multiple groupies in different hotel rooms at the same time as well as a wild night with Mike Tyson and two dozen women. He also spoke about his onstage arrest for lewdness in 1989 — because simulating sex on the stage with audience members was part of his show in the Don't Be Cruel era. However, he also acknowledged that his addictions went beyond drugs and alcohol.
"I believe I was a sex addict," Brown admitted.
Looking back, "I definitely wish I got the guidance as far as sex was concerned. I didn't have anybody there to teach me. My dad was definitely not going to teach me. My mom was not going to teach me. My brother was too busy in his sex life to teach me. So I had to learn from all the older cats... I just wish, ya know, I would have been a lot safer."
The doc also looked at Brown's early years growing up poor in the Orchard Park Projects in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood. He was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and started drinking at age 7 or 8. He watched as his best friend was stabbed to death. His mother, a teacher, was arrested and the victim of police brutality, leading Brown to be removed from his home by social services. While under state care, he was molested by a priest.
"Wow, I didn't think I was going to talk about that," he admitted as he detailed the violation.
And that was the vibe of the first two parts of the doc, which also touches on the heartbreaking deaths of his kids Bobbi Kristina and son Bobby Jr.
"My life hasn't been easy," he admitted. "Just trying to find ways to cope with the loss of so many individuals in my life."
Parts three and four air Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on A&E. Brown's new docuseries, Bobby Brown: Every Little Step, debuts after the doc with new episodes then airing Tuesdays at 9 p.m. starting June 7.
Bridgerton 's Ruby Barker Grateful for Support After Mental Health Treatment: 'I Feel Less Alone'
Bridgerton actress Ruby Barker has been discharged from the hospital where she received mental health treatment, she shared in a video posted to her Instagram.
Barker, 25, posted on the platform last week that she had "been really unwell for a really long time" and was getting help.
"I just want to be honest with everybody, I have been struggling," she said in May 26 Instagram video. "So, I'm in the hospital at the minute, I'm gonna get discharged soon and hopefully get to continue with my life and I'm gonna take a little bit of a break from myself."
On Monday, the actress appeared cheerful and refreshed in another Instagram update, sharing with her 231,000 followers from a nature retreat that she is feeling much better.
"I can't wait for the future, I'm doing ok for myself, I'm in a beautiful environment right now to take some time to myself and relax and breathe," Barker said. "Getting outdoors, going for walks, speaking to loved ones, trying not to ostracize yourself, that's a really big step. If I have any advice for my younger self, I would just tell myself, 'Listen, it's not all doom and gloom, even when you hit rock bottom.' "
She thanked her medical staff, family, friends, Bridgerton Executive Producer Shonda Rhimes, and her followers for all the support she received since sharing her decision to get treated in the hospital.
Barker added that a piece of advice from her Bridgerton co-star Claudia Jessie helped her improve her mindset.
"She told me to flip the coin: It might be dull on one side, but just flip the coin and you'll find it's shiny on the other. It's training your mind to find the funny, to find the light, to find the positive," Barker said. "It's a really hard thing to do, but if you can get into the practice of doing that, you've got it. I just want everybody to feel good and to feel supported, and loved and held and heard. Anybody that's in a dark place right now, I just want you to know I see you I feel you. Find the funny and flip that coin."
A$AP Rocky hopes to raise ‘open-minded children’ with Rihanna
A$AP Rocky says he hopes to raise “open-minded children” with his girlfriend, Rihanna.
“I hope to raise open-minded children. Not people who discriminate,” the rapper, 33, said in an interview with Dazed published Monday. “And I’m not trying to describe a saint, but realistically, I just want a cool child with cool parents.”
He elaborated, “Things like diversity and versatility are important, and they’ll be embedded in the household.”
Rocky and Rihanna welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on May 13. The hip-hop star and the Fenty Beauty mogul, who began dating in 2020, announced in January that they were starting a family together.
Though Rocky sings an inclusive tune today, that hasn’t always been the case. He admitted to being “homophobic” in the past during a 2011 interview with Pitchfork.

And it makes me upset that this topic even matters when it comes to hip-hop, because it makes it seem like everybody in hip-hop is small-minded or stupid — and that’s not the case.”
Added Rocky, “We’ve got people like Jay Z. We’ve got people like Kanye [West]. We’ve got people like me. We’re all prime examples of people who don’t think like that.”
For her part, Rihanna, 34, quickly established herself as a LGTQIA+ ally upon her 2005 music debut.
The Grammy winner continues to advocate for the community today. She notably teamed up with GLAAD last year to launch the first-ever Pride collection for her Savage X Fenty lingerie line. Proceeds benefited GLAAD’s work to accelerate queer acceptance in the media.
Diplo refused entry into Cannes party he was hired to DJ
Despite being one of the most famous DJs in the world, Diplo had trouble getting into a party he was hired to work at.
The 43-year-old on Monday shared a clip of the moment he was turned away from a Cannes Film Festival bash on a luxury yacht.
“I was booked to DJ a yacht party in Cannes but security wouldn’t let me in,” the DJ said in the video shared on Instagram.
“The yacht was empty so I was about to take the L and go get food.”
The video also shows a woman inside the event telling security, “He’s the DJ,” while Diplo — real name Thomas Wesley Pentz — tried to explain that owner of the yacht hired him.
The guard still appeared unconvinced and refused to let him in.
“Luckily the owner was walking by and let me in,” he added.
“Next time I’m adding myself to the guest list,” Diplo captioned the clip.
During his decorated career, Diplo has scooped up a total of three Grammy Awards.
He won best dance recording for “Where Are Ãœ Now” and Best Dance/Electronic Album for “Skrillex And Diplo Present Jack Ãœ” in 2016, as well as best dance recording for “Electricity” in 2019.
Kayla Nicole Denies 'Absurd' Rumors She Dumps Travis Kelce Over Splitting Bills
Kayla Nicole says that she did not break up with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in response to him asking her to split the bill for restaurants, trips, and more.
Making use of her Twitter account, Kayla shut down the claims on Saturday, May 28.
She quote-retweeted a post from Barstool Sports which read, “Travis Kelce’s Girlfriend Kayla Nicole Allegedly Broke Up with Him Because He Kept Making Her Pay Half of Everything in The Five Years They Were Dating.” In response to that, Kayla wrote, “Not sure where y’all got this nonsense from, but it’s absurd and very false.”
Fans, meanwhile, had mixed reactions to the news. “This makes no sense if he made her pay why would she stay 5yrs??? He clearly broke it off because she hasn’t shown him any reason to promote her to a wife,” one person responded.
Another user reacted, “… they saw a Black Woman break up with an NFL player on her OWN MERIT & decided that there was no way that a Black Woman could break up with an NFL player on her OWN MERIT WITHOUT falsely shaming her for it. it is a story as old as time.”
In Barstool’s report, it was claimed that a friend of Kayla who explained that “Travis is very cheap. In the beginning, he tried to make Kayla ‘prove’ that she wasn’t with him for the money . . . so she had to pay half of everything. Half of every date, every trip, everything.”
Kayla additionally was said to have only received $100 from Travis over the course of their relationship. He signed a $57 million deal with the Chiefs in 2020, making him one of the highest-paid tight ends in the NFL, behind the San Francisco 49ers’ star
This wasn’t the first time that the athlete was accused of being cheap with his girlfriend during the course of their relationship. Back in 2021, fans blasted the pass-catcher when Nicole spoke about shopping at Zara.
Kanye West Signs NFL's Aaron Donald to Donda Sports
Rams star Aaron Donald is skipping his team’s organized team activities (OTAs) while seeking a raise.
Now, three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Aaron Donald, has announced the partnership with Ye’s athletic company which he founded alongside Pro Bowl receiver Antonio Brown.
“It’s a helluva opportunity to open up a lot of different doors and a lot of different things outside of football that I want to be involved in,” he said during an appearance on the “I Am Athlete” podcast with hosts Brandon Marshall, Adam “Pacman” Jones, and LeSean McCoy. “So to be one of the first athletes to be a part of [Donda Sports] is pretty dope, man. We excited about it and we gon’ see where this thing goes.”
The 31-year-old also shared the role that his wife played in securing the new deal which comes on the heels of his Super Bowl win.
“My wife actually does my marketing. It was an opportunity that came to us and it made sense,” he said. “Hearing the whole spectrum of everything that they was gonna be bringing, the family atmosphere that they got at Donda Sports … for me, it was a no-brainer.”
The company, which was launched in January with Brown as president, has since taken off with its own line of athletics gear as well as placing its bid in to purchase the Denver Broncos for a whopping $4 billion,
“Donda Sports was founded with the vision of providing holistic support to athletes during and beyond their sports career,” read a statement of the company. “Donda Sports is a limitless organization centered on professional and wellness support in equal measure with the ambition to work with athletes across all genders, divisions and sports.”
Donald was even invited to be in one of Ye’s video, but revealed that’s not his style.
“He’s a cool dude. We got to talk a little bit, vibe,” he shared. “It was at one of his video shoots. He actually wanted me to get in one of the videos, but I was like, ‘Nah.’ It was out of my element, but he’s a real cool guy.”
RHOC Alum Kelly Dodd Responds After Facing Backlash For Comparing Texas School Shooting To 9/11
“Real Housewives of Orange County” star is one of many celebrities who have weighed in on the tragic elementary school shooting in Texas that left 21 people dead.
Over the weekend, the RHOC alum shared a tweet that read, “After 9-11 we didn’t ban planes. We secured the cockpits. Secure the schools.” Social media users reacted to the post, with some slamming her for the comparison. One user wrote, “You’d [sic] rather have schools look like prisons than reforming gun laws.. uhm ok. That won’t traumatize the kids, to have constant reminders that adults have failed them.”
Another responded saying, “Focusing on securing the schools from mass murderers is as asinine as making cars much safer during crashes so we can drink and drive without killing anyone. The problem is not the school. It’s the guns, regardless of how you try to distract us.” However, there were many people to agree with her. Another tweeted, “she’s not wrong. We traumatize our kids with BS lockdown drills yet due NOTHING to actually keep them safer from
a sad but real threat.”
Dodd is now responding to the online backlash. She recently shared a new video on her Instagram page where she explains that she just agreed with the post that she re-shared. She added that the post was “meant simply to encourage better security at our schools!” Her husband, Rick Leventhal is standing by her side as he also defends her.
As we previously reported, 18-year-old Salvador Ramos killed 21 people at the elementary school last week; 19 children and two teachers. He also shot his grandmother who was listed in critical condition but is expected to survive. Ramos was shot and killed following a standoff with police. The gunman at Robb elementary school was a local resident of Uvalde, who had reportedly made violent threats on social media and boasted about guns. He legally bought the assault rifle and hundreds of rounds of ammunition he took into the school. During the time that he had locked and barricaded himself into a classroom with the children and their teachers, one child made at least six calls to the 911 emergency number to plead for help from police, even as officers were reportedly right outside.
The US government on Sunday announced a federal investigation into the police response to the mass shooting at a Texas school. This comes as anger mounted over why armed officers waited more than one hour in the hall outside the classroom where the gunman students and staff.
“The goal of the review is to provide an independent account of law enforcement actions and responses that day, and to identify lessons learned and best practices to help first responders prepare for and respond to active shooter events,” DoJ spokesperson Anthony Coley said.
Mona Lisa Painting Smeared with Cake by Man Disguised as Elderly Woman in Paris
The Mona Lisa painting was subject of attempted vandalism over the weekend in Paris.
On Sunday (May 29), a man, disguised as an elderly woman wearing a wig, jumped out of a wheelchair and smeared cake over the glass casing of the iconic painting by Italian artist Leonardo da Vinci, the Louvre Museum confirmed in a statement.
“A visitor simulated a disability in order to use a wheelchair to approach the work, which was installed in a secure display case. The Louvre applied its usual procedures for people with reduced mobility, allowing them to admire this major work of art,” a spokesperson for the Louvre shared in a statement with CNN.
“While standing near the painting, this individual threw a pastry he had hidden in his personal belongings at the Mona Lisa‘s glass case,” the statement continued. “This act had no effect on the painting, which was not damaged in any way.”
The spokesperson also noted that visitors in wheelchairs are allowed to move in front of other guests in order to get a better view of the artwork.
The man, 36, was arrested and taken to a psychiatric infirmary in the police headquarters, according to the Paris prosecutor’s office. An investigation has been opened for “the attempt of damaging a cultural property” and the Louvre has filed a complaint.
According to videos shared on Twitter, the man is heard saying in French, “Think of planet Earth, there are people destroying it” and threw rose petals all over the floor before he was escorted out by museum security.
The glass case that protects the Mona Lisa was cleaned off and the painting is still up on display.
This is not the first time the Mona Lisa has been vandalized. In the 1950s, the painting was damaged in two attacks – one with acid, and in another with a rock, chipping a speck of pigment off of the portrait. These attacks led the Louvre placing the bulletproof glass around the Mona Lisa.

The stars of Jurassic World: Dominion are hitting the red carpet! Bryce Dallas Howard, Jeff Goldblum, and DeWanda Wise were all smiles as they posed together at the premiere of their new movie on Monday (May 30) at Medinpark in Cologne, Germany.
Also in attendance was fellow cast member Mamoudou Athie along with the movie's director Colin Trevorrow. DeWanda's husband Alano Miller also joined her at the premiere.

Fox Cancels ‘Our Kind of People’ After One Season on Air Due To Poor Ratings
*Fox has decided to cancel “Our Kind of People” after only one season, according to the network’s press release on Friday. The story’s plot revolves around a single mom who relocates her family to the vineyard while nursing the hopes of expanding her natural hair care business by partnering with wealthy African Americans in Oak Bluffs.
However, the series was not as well-received as expected; according to Variety, it managed only an average of 0.5 rating in the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demo, and only a total of 2.1 million viewers.
When it premiered in September 2021, it brought in just 1.62 million viewers, which was disappointing.
Among the star-studded cast are Morris Chestnut, Lance Gross, Yaya DaCosta, Raven Goodwin, Nadine Ellis, Debbi Morgan, and Joe Morton.
The show’s story was inspired by “Our Kind of People: Inside America’s Black Upper Class,” a book by Lawrence Otis Graham. The series, produced by Twentieth Television and Fox Entertainment, runs for one hour. The executive producers are Lee Daniels (Empire, Star) and Karin Gist (Mixed-ish, Star). Gist also doubles up as writer.
But “Our Kind of People” wasn’t the only series that Fox showed the exit door. “Pivoting,” which premiered to positive reviews from critics in January, was also canceled after just one season. Created by Liz Astrof, it’s about three friends who upended their lives in an attempt to find happiness while they still have the time.
NFL Cornerback Jeff Gladney Has Died Following A Tragic Car Crash
The sports world is mourning the untimely passing of Arizona Cardinals cornerback Jeff Gladney, who was killed in a car accident Monday morning.
The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. in the westbound services lanes of Woodall Rogers Freeway at Allen Street in Dallas, Texas. A female victim in the car also succumbed to her injuries. Her identity has not yet been released, though several sources have reported that the woman was his girlfriend.
The Texas Christian University standout recently inked a two-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals. The move served as a new chapter for Gladney after he was found not guilty in March of a felony assault charge stemming from a domestic dispute.
Prior to signing with the Cardinals, Gladney was a first-round pick in the 2020 draft, landing on the Minnesota Vikings before being released last August.
Gladney’s best friend and former TCU teammate, Jalen Reagor, took to Twitter, sharing several emotional tweets as news of Gladney’s death circulated.
“Lost my Brother, my best friend, my right hand man… ain’t too much more I can take man damn! R.I.P Jeff Gladney, brother watch over me, please,” the Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver wrote in one tweet.
In several follow-up tweets, he shared that he was “lost for words” and also posted a screenshot of their last text message exchange.
Former Cincinnati Bengals safety George Iloka also expressed his feelings regarding the tragic news, reminiscing on his time playing with Gladney during his rookie year.
“One of the most respectful and intentional rookies I’ve been around so far. Always had a smile and came to work. Sad sad. So young, so precious. RIP Young King,” he wrote.
The Cardinals, NFL, and Vikings also released statements sending their condolences to Gladney’s loved ones.
Jeff Gladney was just 25 years old and left behind a one-year-old son.

The beat-up “full-destroyed” Paris Sneaker that went viral earlier this month caught the eye of the Dutch Salvation Army which responded with its “Truly Destroyed” campaign that features shoes that have actually been worn for months (in some cases years) by people living on the streets.

Balenciaga’s limit-edition full-distroyed Paris sneakers, priced at $1,850 hit a little too close to home for those that actually know what it’s like to wear worn-out shoes.
“The fashion world is all about how clothes and shoes look. The creativity and variety that comes with it can be wonderful, as is high fashion, or Balenciaga for that matter,” said Thamar Keuning, marketing and communications officer at the Salvation Army.
“However, it is also sometimes at odds with what clothing means to most of the people we deal with, and that is purely functional. The destroyed shoes of a homeless person opposite the high-fashion products of this fashion industry literally and symbolically reflect the inequality in the world.”
“If anything, we’re thankful they decided to come up with the limited-edition sneakers described as ‘totally destroyed,’ because that’s what sparked our idea: selling used sneakers worn by people living in the streets. Not treated to look destroyed, but truly destroyed, due to their tough life conditions.”
Only 100 pairs of the limit-edition full-distroyed Paris sneakers went up for sale.
This isn’t the first time the high-class brand has been caught in controversy.
In 2021, Balenciaga was accused of culture appropriating sweat pants with plaid boxers hanging out. Black History experts deemed the joggers racist.
