#RHOA: Phaedra Parks' Ex-Husband Apollo Nida Pleads With Judge To End Probation Following Secret Arrest
Phaedra Parks' ex-husband, Apollo Nida, has asked a judge to end his criminal probation after he was secretly arrested on May 30, 2021, according to court documents obtained by Radar.

This comes years after the 43-year-old was sentenced to 8 years behind bars in August of 2014 — originally facing a whopping 30 years — on charges of identity theft and money laundering in amounts upwards of $2 million.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum — who was married to Parks from 2009 to 2017 and shares children 9-year-old Ayden and 6-year-old Dylan — was put under court mandated probation for 5 years following his 2019 release from prison.

Now, after his recent May arrest — which involved charges of resisting an officer, and resisting arrest without violence — the barber's attorney is requesting his probation be dropped, arguing Nida has taken all the appropriate steps and effectively “reintegrated into society.”
The court docs also explained the felon previously made a living as a public speaker and reality star who regularly appeared on the hit Bravo series.

“Mr. Nida earned income as a guest speaker; Mr. Nida was also paid to host parties and events in various cities and states throughout the country.” The docs continued, “In fact, while on pretrial release (bond) Mr. Nida continued to travel and earn income through these same means.”

Though the charges against the former reality personality were dropped earlier this year on August 5, Nida was required to wear a GPS monitor and abide by a curfew that allegedly “affected his livelihood and family” to the point that he felt it was necessary to end his probation in order to move on with his life.

The father-of-two also claims he was not allowed to travel and lost out on many financial opportunities because of the stringent curfew stipulations.

#RIP: South Africa's Archbishop Desmond Tutu dies at 90
Desmond Mpilo Tutu, the Nobel Peace laureate whose moral might permeated South African society during apartheid's darkest hours and into the unchartered territory of new democracy, died on Sunday. He was 90.

The outspoken Tutu was considered the nation's conscience by both Black and white, an enduring testament to his faith and spirit of reconciliation in a divided nation.
He preached against the tyranny of white minority and even after its end, he never wavered in his fight for a fairer South Africa, calling the black political elite to account with as much feistiness as he had the white Afrikaners.

In his final years, he regretted that his dream of a "Rainbow Nation" had not yet come true.

On the global stage, the human rights activist spoke out across a range of topics, from Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories to gay rights, climate change and assisted death - issues that cemented Tutu's broad appeal.

"The passing of Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu is another chapter of bereavement in our nation’s farewell to a generation of outstanding South Africans who have bequeathed us a liberated South Africa," said President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Just five feet five inches (1.68 metres) tall and with an infectious giggle, Tutu was a moral giant who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984 for his non-violent struggle against apartheid.

He used his high-profile role in the Anglican Church to highlight the plight of black South Africans.

Asked on his retirement as Archbishop of Cape Town in 1996 if he had any regrets, Tutu said: "The struggle tended to make one abrasive and more than a touch self-righteous. I hope that people will forgive me any hurts I may have caused them."
Talking and travelling tirelessly throughout the 1980s, Tutu became the face of the anti-apartheid movement abroad while many of the leaders of the rebel African National Congress (ANC), such as Nelson Mandela, were behind bars.

"Our land is burning and bleeding and so I call on the international community to apply punitive sanctions against this government," he said in 1986.
Even as governments ignored the call, he helped rouse grassroots campaigns around the world that fought for an end to apartheid through economic and cultural boycotts.

Former hardline white president P.W. Botha asked Tutu in a letter in March 1988 whether he was working for the kingdom of God or for the kingdom promised by the then-outlawed and now ruling ANC.

GRAVESIDE ORATIONS
Among his most painful tasks was delivering graveside orations for Black people who had died violently during the struggle against white domination.
"We are tired of coming to funerals, of making speeches week after week. It is time to stop the waste of human lives," he once said.
Tutu said his stance on apartheid was moral rather than political.

It's easier to be a Christian in South Africa than anywhere else, because the moral issues are so clear in this country," he once told Reuters.
In February 1990, Tutu led Nelson Mandela on to a balcony at Cape Town's City Hall overlooking a square where the ANC talisman made his first public address after 27 years in prison.

He was at Mandela's side four years later when he was sworn in as the country's first black president.
"Sometimes strident, often tender, never afraid and seldom without humour, Desmond Tutu's voice will always be the voice of the voiceless," is how Mandela, who died in December 2013, described his friend.
While Mandela introduced South Africa to democracy, Tutu headed the Truth and Reconciliation Commission that laid bare the terrible truths of the war against white rule
Some of the heartrending testimony moved him publicly to tears.

PULLED NO PUNCHES
But Tutu was as tough on the new democracy as he was on South Africa's apartheid rulers.
He castigated the new ruling elite for boarding the "gravy train" of privilege and chided Mandela for his long public affair with Graca Machel, whom he eventually married.

In his Truth Commission report, Tutu refused to treat the excesses of the ANC in the fight against white rule any more gently than those of the apartheid government.

Even in his twilight years, he never stopped speaking his mind, condemning President Jacob Zuma over allegations of corruption surrounding a $23 million security upgrade to his home.
In 2014, he admitted he did not vote for the ANC, citing moral grounds.
"As an old man, I am sad because I had hoped that my last days would be days of rejoicing, days of praising and commending the younger people doing the things that we hoped so very much would be the case," Tutu told Reuters in June 2014.

In December 2003, he rebuked his government for its support for Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, despite growing criticism over his human rights record.
Tutu drew a parallel between Zimbabwe's isolation and South Africa's battle against apartheid.
"We appealed for the world to intervene and interfere in South Africa's internal affairs. We could not have defeated apartheid on our own," Tutu said. "What is sauce for the goose must be sauce for the gander too."

He also criticised South African President Thabo Mbeki for his public questioning of the link between HIV and AIDS, saying Mbeki's international profile had been tarnished.

SCHOOL TEACHER'S SON
A schoolteacher's son, Tutu was born in Klerksdorp, a conservative town west of Johannesburg, on Oct. 7, 1931.
The family moved to Sophiatown in Johannesburg, one of the commercial capital's few mixed-race areas, subsequently demolished under apartheid laws to make way for the white suburb of Triomf - “Triumph in Afrikaans.
Always a passionate student, Tutu first worked as a teacher. But he said he had become infuriated with the system of educating Blacks, once described by a South African prime minister as aimed at preparing them for their role in society as servants.

Tutu quit teaching in 1957 and decided to join the church, studying first at St. Peter's Theological College in Johannesburg. He was ordained a priest in 1961 and continued his education at King's College in London.

After four years abroad, he returned to South Africa, where his sharp intellect and charismatic preaching saw him rise through lecturing posts to become Anglican Dean of Johannesburg in 1975, which was when his activism started taking shape.
"I realised that I had been given a platform that was not readily available to many Blacks, and most of our leaders were either now in chains or in exile. And I said: 'Well, I'm going to use this to seek to try to articulate our aspirations and the anguishes of our people'," he told a reporter in 2004.

By now too prominent and globally respected to be thrust aside by the apartheid government, Tutu used his appointment as Secretary-General of the South African Council of Churches in 1978 to call for sanctions against his country.
He was named the first Black Archbishop of Cape Town in 1986, becoming the head of the Anglican Church, South Africa's fourth largest. He would retain that position until 1996.

In retirement he battled prostate cancer and largely withdrew from public life. In one of his last public appearances, he hosted Britain’s Prince Harry, his wife Meghan and their four-month-old son Archie at his charitable foundation in Cape Town in September 2019, calling them a "genuinely caring" couple.

Tutu married Leah in 1955. They had four children and several grandchildren, and homes in Cape Town and Soweto township near Johannesburg.

According to TMZ, there was no explanation as to why Pentelow made the error and it could be possible that she was reading off of a teleprompter.
As for The Pope’s speech, he discussed the pandemic and offered prayers for those who have been personally affected by the coronavirus. He also pleaded for the vaccines to be easily available for individuals around the world.

It’s Christmasstime and the hip hop community is celebrating with their families. Not everyone dressed up this year, and that’s okay. Some artists definitely weren’t on Santa’s nice list, and that’s okay too.

It’s always pretty cool to see how our favorite rappers and singers celebrate the holidays. This year, many took to social media to give us a glimpse into their lives at home, which is a gift in itself right?

Elliot Page Celebrates Christmas After Coming Out as Transgender Last Year: 'Sending Some Love'
Elliot Page is publicly celebrating his first Christmas since coming out as transgender.
The actor, 34, shared a photo of himself on Instagram where he commemorated the holiday with his (furry) loved ones.

On Christmas Eve, Page shared a selfie with his pup, Mo, where he wrote, "Sending some love from us 💚."
The post had many kind responses from fellow celebs. "My king 🥺," wrote 13 Reasons Why actress Tommy Dorfman, who reintroduced herself as a transgender woman earlier this year in a Time interview. The Umbrella Academy's showrunner Steve Blackman commented, "❤️❤️❤️❤️".

Page came out as trans in December 2020 in a heartfelt statement on his Twitter page.

In April, Page spoke to Oprah Winfrey for Apple TV+'s The Oprah Conversation about feeling free to live his life openly as a transgender man.
"It's this interesting dichotomy in a way where on some level it feels just like the most miraculous, amazing thing — and it's also just the experience of, 'Oh, there I am,'" Page told Winfrey at the time.

"A part of me was like, 'Oh my god, why was that so hard? Why?'" the Umbrella Academy actor shared. "Why has society made getting to this place of my life — because that's the situation we're facing. And yeah, it was probably driving my friends crazy, sending them profile photos of me post having top surgery and how different I felt after that and all this space. "
In a Vanity Fair feature published that same month, Page said that as a little kid, he "absolutely" knew that he was a boy.

"I was writing fake love letters and signing them 'Jason.' Every little aspect of my life, that is who I was, who I am, and who I knew myself to be," he told the magazine. "I just couldn't understand when I'd be told, 'No, you're not. No, you can't be that when you're older.' "

"Now I'm finally getting myself back to feeling like who I am," added Page, "and it's so beautiful and extraordinary, and there's a grief to it in a way."

‘Bridgerton’: Netflix Sets Season 2 Premiere Date, Reveals More Plot Details
On Christmas Day 2020, Netflix launched Shondaland’s first series for the streamer, Bridgerton, a Regency England drama that became a worldwide phenomenon. To mark the one-year anniversary of the hugely popular series’ premiere, Netflix and Shondaland today are revealing the premiere date for Bridgerton’s upcoming second season. It will debut Friday, March 25.

Along with the Season 2 premiere date announcement, delivered by several Bridgerton returning and new cast members (you can watch it below), Netflix has provided the most detailed synopsis yet of the new season, based on The Viscount Who Loved Me, the second of Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton novels that inspired the TV series. It provides details about the season’s main storylines.

From creator Chris Van Dusen, Season 2 of Bridgerton follows Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), the eldest Bridgerton sibling and Viscount, as he sets out to find a suitable wife. Driven by his duty to uphold the family name, Anthony’s search for a debutante who meets his impossible standards seems ill-fated until Kate (Simone Ashley) and her younger sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran) Sharma arrive from India. When Anthony begins to court Edwina, Kate discovers the true nature of his intentions — a true love match is not high on his priority list — and decides to do everything in her power to stop the union. But in doing so, Kate and Anthony’s verbal sparring matches only bring them closer together, complicating matters on both sides. Across Grosvenor Square, the Featheringtons must welcome the newest heir to their estate while Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) continues to navigate the ton whilst keeping her deepest secret from the people closest to her.

Bridgerton‘s Season 2 main cast additions also include Shelley Conn (Mary Sharma), Calam Lynch (Theo Sharpe) and Rupert Young (Jack). They join additional returning stars Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), Lorraine Ashbourne (Mrs. Varley), Harriet Cains (Philipa Featherington), Bessie Carter (Prudence Featherington), Phoebe Dynevor (Daphne Basset), Ruth Gemmell (Violet Bridgerton), Florence Hunt (Hyacinth Bridgerton), Martins Imhangbe (Will Mondrich), Claudia Jessie (Eloise Bridgerton), Luke Newton (Colin Bridgerton), Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), Luke Thompson (Benedict Bridgerton), Will Tilston (Gregory Bridgerton), Polly Walker (Portia Featherington) and Julie Andrews as the voice of Lady Whistledown.

Van Dusen, in his final season on Bridgerton, serves as showrunner. He executive produces with Shondaland’s Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers.

Saweetie Is The Latest Female To Pop Out With A Baldie
Saweetie, your favorite “ICY GRL,” is the latest baddie to pop out with a baldie. As you may recall, Jada Pinkett-Smith shaved her head just recently and Tiffany Haddish debuted her new cut during the 2020 COVID-19 stay-at-home period.

The former redhead shocked thousands of social media users after posting the stunning headshot (no pun intended) on Instagram on the eve of Christmas Day. It didn’t hurt that she was bikini-clad and laid out beneath a few palm trees, looking balmed up and dewy.
Saweetie’s followers were totally caught off guard. The reception to her platinum buzz cut was mixed. Stand-up comedian B. Simone, who recently did a big chop and is now rocking a blonde, low-cut hairdo, celebrated the rapper’s new look and dropped a bevy of flames and heart emojis. Several comments referred to Amber Rose as the originator of platinum baldies and is perhaps the inspiration.

Others simply questioned “WHY?,” as if a woman needs to offer any damn reason for taking a pair of clippers to the head. Although, there may be some explanation behind the chop. A meditation emoji in the IG caption may allude to self-care or peace of mind or Saweetie could simply be unbothered. —And from the look of her actions in the past week, it may very well be all of the above.
Saweetie has been heavy in these social media streets, as people critiqued her stage performance, poked fun at her questionable dance skills and blamed it on having a Brazilian butt lift.
Body-shame be damned, she made lemonade from all the lemons she was served and initiated an #icychainchallenge—and continued to shake that ass from the stage, to the living room, to a hotel balcony.

The 28-year-old appears to be enjoying her success, while giving zero fucks and living her best life—indeed.

TikTok dethrones Google as the Internet’s most popular site
Google is no longer the most popular platform in the world. The search engine site has been dethroned by the social media app TikTok, according to web security and performance company Cloudflare.
Per Cloudflare, which tracks data using its Cloudflare Radar, TikTok became the most popular site within a matter of months this year.

“It was on February 17, 2021, that TikTok got the top spot for a day,” Cloudflare wrote in its year-end blog post. “Back in March, TikTok got a few more days and also in May, but it was after August 10, 2021, that TikTok took the lead on most days. There were some days when Google was #1, but October and November were mostly TikTok’s days, including on Thanksgiving (Nov. 25) and Black Friday (Nov. 26).”
Last year, the viral video app known as Douyin in China ranked No. 7 on Cloudflare’s list. The company believes its increasing popularity was seemingly due to the pandemic.

“In what was the second year of the pandemic, social media domains continued high on our ranking,” Cloudflare wrote. “The nine main social media applications were all in our top 100 list of most popular global domains … We can see that TikTok … took Facebook from its crown of the most popular social media website-domain in our ranking.”

WhatsApp entered Cloudflare’s top 10 this year — bumping Instagram off the list. Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Apple, Netflix, Amazon, and YouTube remained the most popular domains across the Internet from 2020 to 2021.

The most popular artist on the Internet’s most popular site is Megan Thee Stallion, according to TikTok’s 2021 Music Report.

“New year, same queen: after racking up the most catalog video views of any artist in 2020, Megan Thee Stallion, first of her name, reigneth once again in 2021,” TikTok wrote in its year-end blog post. “The Houston-born rapper excels at crafting quotable songs with a danceable bounce, and always provides a smile with her amiable presence as @TheeStallion on TikTok.”

The app claims songs such as “Cognac Queen,” “Thot Shit,” and “Cry Baby” helped the H-town Hottie stay in the number one spot for the second straight year.

AND FINALLY FROM “THE CRAZY PEOPLE SHOPPING AT WALMART” FILES
WHY WEAR ONE HAT IF YOU CAN WEAR FOUR
Now here’s something that seems pretty logical. This guy probably thought to himself, why wear just one hat, when he could literally wear four of them on his head?

HAVE A GREAT WEEK AHEAD ALL!!!
