Teyana Taylor Is The First Black Woman To Be Named Maxim's Sexiest Woman Alive!

Teyana Taylor is one hot mama! The singer, dancer, model and entrepreneur has made history as the first Black woman to top Maxim‘s Hot 100 list. She appears on the cover of the July/August 2021 issue.

“I’ve followed Maxim for a long time and I’ve always felt like I should be on the cover,” Taylor said the magazine during the cover interview. “So to actually get the call saying they want me on the cover really means a lot. I was like, what? They want me on the cover? Okay!”

Taylor is a modern renaissance woman to the fullest. She serves as the 1-year creative director of fashion company Pretty Little Thing, where she works to shape the current vision of the brand. Her most recent musical release was The Album, the 23-track project featuring music icons like Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu and Missy Elliott. The release debuted at #8 on the Billboard Top 200, making it her first project to crack the top ten.

Additionally, she is a music video director who works under the name “Spike Tey” and has crafted videos for Monica, Macy Gray and Queen Naija. “Honestly, directing is one of the best things that I’ve ever done, and one of my favorite things in my career that I’m doing, ‘cause I kind of always had that eye,” Taylor said to Maxim.

The 30-year old is a wife to NBA player Iman Shumpert, whom she married in 2016. They share two daughters, 5-year-old Junie and an infant named Rue Rose.

One of her hottest career moments was starring in and choreographing Kanye West’s “Fade” video, for which she garnered international attention. Taylor is also in the developmental stages of a documentary about soul singer Dionne Warwick’s life, in which she will portray Warwick.

#RHOA: Porsha Williams & Daughter PJ Are Too Cute in Matching Red Bikinis!

Though summer has barely begun, Porsha Williams has already shown off an enviable collection of swimsuits, rocking everything from a barely-there coral string bikini to a teeny leopard two-piece. Most recently, The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member and daughter Pilar Jhena donned adorably coordinated swimwear while enjoying a sunny day on a boat.

On June 4, Porsha took to Instagram to capture the sweet mother-daughter style moment. In the cute snapshots, Porsha and PJ can be seen striking a pose in complementing red swimsuits alongside Porsha’s fiancΓ© Simon Guobadia’s youngest daughter, Ximena.

As captured in the photo, Porsha wore a brightly colored one-shoulder cut-out bikini, accessorizing her long braided pigtails with a polka dot headband that perfectly matched PJ’s ruffled red-and-white two-piece. Meanwhile, her soon-to-be stepdaughter rocked a one-piece swimsuit in the same cherry hue.

Porsha let the precious photo speak for itself, adding only three heart emojis in the caption.

Porsha’s sister Lauren Williams couldn’t help but share her reaction to the heartwarming photo. “My favorite girls,” she wrote in the comments.

#NewMusic from Eric Roberson – Lessons!

The King of Independent R&B Music Eric Roberson has just released the visual for his new single “Lessons”.

The song’s lyrics detail the way that life has a funny way of teaching us lessons when we least need them, but how it all ends up working in the end. “Lessons” is a soulful tune that really takes us back to that classic Eric Roberson sound.

The song was written by Roberson, along with the song’s producers Anikan & Vader and Jarius Mozee.

#HipHopNews: DMX Fans Who Didn't Like 'Exodus' Might Be Into His Forthcoming Rumored Gospel Album!

DMX fans who weren’t satisfied with his first posthumous album Exodus or Swizz Beatz’s production might be able to get their hands on another project soon.

According to a source close to DMX’s camp, the Ruff Ryders legend completed a gospel album during the Redemption of the Beast era that has yet to see the light of day. The project is supposedly being shopped around to labels as of Monday (June 7).

DMX has routinely injected his strong faith into his lyrics, so it comes as no surprise he was armed with an entire project dedicated to a higher power. On Exodus album closer “Prayer,” X delivers a powerful sermon acapella style that further cements his commitment to his love of God.

“Lord Jesus it is you, who wakes me up every day,” he begins in his signature gruff voice. “And I am forever grateful for your love/This is why I pray/You let me touch so many people and it’s all for the good/I influenced so many children, I never thought that I would/And I couldn’t take credit for the love they get/Because it all comes from you, Lord/I’m just the one that’s givin’ it.”

DMX died on April 9 at White Plains Hospital in White Plains, New York after suffering a massive heart attack reportedly triggered by a drug overdose. X valiantly fought his demons for many years but struggled with addiction throughout his life. In an interview last November, DMX admitted he was tricked into smoking crack-cocaine at just 14 years old.

“I’m 14 years old,” he said. “Me and my mans did a robbery one night, and it was his birthday and we came back and split the money. I said, ‘Here yo, go get something nice for your birthday.’ So he came back with a blunt rolled up, and as I’m counting the money, he passed the blunt. I wasn’t pressed — I don’t really smoke n-gga, fuck outta here.

“He passed the blunt around and I hit the blunt and I’m like, I was no longer focused on the money. I’d never felt like this, it just fucked me up, I’m like, ‘What the fuck?’ I later found out that he laced the blunt with crack.”

He added, “Why would you do that to a child? He knew I looked up to him. Why would you do that to somebody who looks up to you? A monster was born. I wouldn’t do that to my worst enemy. I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy. Especially for someone that you supposedly love. Why would you do that?”

Despite multiple stints in rehab and prison, which would briefly tame the beast, DMX ultimately wasn’t able to break free.

DMX was 50 years old at the time of his death and left behind 15 children and a fiancΓ©e. He’s certainly free now. R.I.P. Dark Man X.

Mariah Carey Responds To Reports About Alleged ‘Explosive’ Jay-Z Fight!

Proceed with caution if you’re going to start rumors about Mariah Carey.

The music superstar has responded to reports that she permanently cut ties with Jay-Z’s management company, Roc Nation, in the wake of an “explosive” meeting with the rap entrepreneur that left their decadeslong relationship in tatters.

An unnamed source told the British tabloid The Sun last week that Carey had “sensationally quit” the label, which she signed with back in 2017, over a “blazing row” with Jay-Z. The two artists reportedly clashed over the direction of her career, as Carey plans to launch a new “heavily R&B-influenced album” and a world tour in the next year.

But on Monday, Carey brushed off the gossip with a distinctly Mariah and perfectly petty retort on social media to set the record straight.

“The only ‘explosive’ situation I’d ever ‘get into’ with Hov is a creative tangent, such as our #1 song ‘Heartbreaker’!!” she wrote alongside a clip from the iconic music video. “To the people who make up these lies I say ‘Poof! —Vamoose, sonofa*****’!”

The Sun report claimed Carey was set to “formally depart in the next few weeks” after the meeting.

“It is a shame because they had done some great work in the last few years,” the source was quoted in The Sun’s story. “But this meeting couldn’t have gone much worse. Mariah has been talking to other managers and thinks she has found someone who she feels has full belief in her as she takes her next steps. She isn’t letting this stand in her way.”

After joining forces on the chart-topping 1999 smash single, Carey and Jay-Z have remained in each other’s orbit, collaborating on various tracks together, including “Things That U Do” and a “Shake It Off” remix, throughout the years.

The two made their partnership official in 2017 when Carey signed with Roc Nation for management following a particularly volatile period for the pop icon that culminated in her disastrous 2016 New Year’s Eve performance.

The partnership seemingly has been a fruitful one for Carey. The singer released 2018’s “Caution,” her best-reviewed studio album in years, and most recently the compilation album “The Rarities,” which celebrated the 30th anniversary of her self-titled debut record, all while working with Roc Nation.

She also published a best-selling memoir “The Meaning of Mariah Carey” and continued her reign as the holiday queen thanks to the omnipresence of “All I Want for Christmas Is You” and her Apple TV+ project “Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special.”

However, as some fans noted, Carey no longer appears on Roc Nation’s website as one of the artists the company represents.

Despite the change, all seems good between the longtime collaborators, as Carey reportedly followed her former Roc Nation manager Melissa Ruderman to Range Media Partners, which currently manages the singer.

“This story is completely made up,” an unnamed source told The New York Post. “The relationship with Roc Nation ended amicably and Mariah and Jay-Z are on great terms.”

Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos Announces He Will Fly Into Space Next Month!

Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos Announces He Will Fly Into Space Next Month

Looks like Jeff Bezos found something to do once he officially steps down as Amazon CEO on July 5th.

This Monday, the billionaire announced that he is launching himself into space next month. He said he will fly to space on the first crewed flight of the New Shepard, a rocket made by his aerospace company Blue Origin. As it was noted, the flight is scheduled for July 20, just a couple of weeks after Bezos plans to resign as Amazon’s CEO. The date will also mark the 52nd anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing.

To make things more special, Bezos also said that his younger brother, Mark Bezos, will join him on the flight. “I want to go on this flight because it’s a thing I’ve wanted to do all my life,” Mr. Bezos said in a video posted to Instagram. “It’s an adventure. It’s a big deal for me.”

Broadway is reopening: See the latest updates on return dates for Performances!

After being shuttered for well over a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Broadway finally has some solid re-opening dates in view.

In May, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced shows starting Sept. 14 would have tickets at 100 percent capacity. However, that doesn't mean tickets for all shows will be available immediately.

The Broadway League says anticipated return dates for each Broadway production will be announced in the coming weeks on a show-by-show basis, with producers determining performance schedules and other timelines.

Not all shows plan to re-open in September. Some will open over the last few months of 2021, while others may not return until 2022.

In addition to the logistics of getting a show up and running, financial considerations are also at the forefront of planning for productions, particularly for an industry that relies heavily on tourists. Safety protocols for productions and audiences also are yet to be announced.

Beyonce & JAY-Z Get Cozy Courtside At Brooklyn Nets Game!

BeyoncΓ© and Jay-Z got cozy courtside during Game 1 of the NBA Playoffs.

Over the weekend, the A-list couple was spotted engaging in some oh-so-sweet PDA as they sat courtside to watch the Brooklyn Nets take on the Milwaukee Bucks at the Barclays Center in New York City. Cameras captured Bey rubbing her hubby's arm at one point during the game as well as Jay rubbing Queen Bey's leg throughout their date night.

Interestingly enough, Jay seemingly has a history of rubbing his wife's legs at basketball games specifically as fans created a digital collage of all the moments he has been spotted doing just that at games over the years. The 12-photo collage, which was heavily circulated on social media over the weekend, even caught the attention of Bey's mom, Tina Knowles Lawson, who reacted to it on Instagram.

"When you love someone and like them you just want to touch them," she wrote. "Me and [my husband] Richard are always touching even if it's just our feet ! Yeah!! That's what you do! ❤️ ."

Miss Tina added, "For those of you who don't understand , Try it sometimes it works !! Human Touch is how you stay connected!!❤️ So comical people saying she has anxiety in public and that's why he touches her ! Lord people !!!! Yal can turn something good and healthy into something That it's not !!! Stop that!!!!! ❤️. BTW if someone has anxiety then it is great for their partner to touch them to calm and reassure them. That's a beautiful thing . It just happens to be not the case here."

Ahead of Saturday's (June 5) game, Bey shared multiple Instagram photos of her stylish date-night outfit: a David Koma black leather corset dress, a bejeweled houndstooth leather shirt, which she layered over the dress, black Christian Louboutin pumps, and a diamond choker.

Tiffany Haddish Getting Offers of Up to $3 Million for Next Book!

It looks like the “The Last Black Unicorn” is about to get paid on her next book deal.

via: Page Six:Tiffany Haddish is shopping a follow-up book to her 2017 best-seller, “The Last Black Unicorn,” sources exclusively tell us — and she’s already getting offers between $2 million and $3 million for the tome.

Insiders tell us that Haddish, 41, has already written about 80 pages of the book, which is currently making the rounds with publishers. A source added that the book is being repped by Byrd Leavell of UTA, and is so far is getting bids between $2 million and $3 million.

The comedian’s previous book covered how she grew up in foster care in South Central Los Angeles and was a hype-woman at bar mitzvahs before she became famous. (“I was basically the Flava Flav of bar mitzvahs,” she wrote.)

In the new book, sources said there are some hilarious showbiz stories — including an alleged incident when Haddish “drank marijuana tea with Sharon Stone.” But when Stone tried to convince Haddish to join Jane Fonda’s climate protest on the steps of the Capitol at the time, Haddish told Stone that she couldn’t because “they’ll never let me out of jail.”

In 2019, Fonda famously launched her “Fire Drill Fridays” protests, which got support from stars including Stone, Sally Field, Ted Danson and Rosanna Arquette. Fonda was arrested numerous times in Washington, DC, during the demonstrations.

Haddish and Stone star together in the new movie “Here Today,” directed by Billy Crystal.

Jennifer Lopez Inks Multi-Year Production Deal With Netflix!

Jennifer Lopez, actor, singer and CEO of Nuyorican Productions, has inked a multi-year, first-look deal with Netflix. Along with producing partners Benny Medina and president of Nuyorican Productions Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, Lopez will produce a slate of film and television content, both scripted and unscripted, that showcase diverse female actors, writers and filmmakers.

Two Netflix features starring Lopez — “The Mother,” directed by Niki Caro (“Mulan”), and “The Cipher,” based on the novel of the same name by Isabel Ojeda Maldonado — had been previously announced by the streamer.

“Throughout every aspect of her career, Jennifer Lopez has been a force in entertainment. In partnering with her and Nuyorican, we know she will continue to bring impactful stories, joy and inspiration to audiences around the world,” Scott Stuber, Netflix’s head of global films, said in a prepared statement.

Bela Bajaria, Netflix’s head of global TV, praised Lopez as “a singular talent whose creativity and vision have captivated audiences and inspired the next generation around the world. For years, she and the team at Nuyorican have brought a distinctive voice to entertainment, and I’m looking forward to working with her and the team to create new series for our members to love.”

“The Mother” follows a deadly female assassin who comes out of hiding to teach her daughter how to survive. “Lovecraft Country” showrunner Misha Green wrote the screenplay, with current revisions by Andrea Berloff (“Straight Outta Compton”); Caro’s other credits include “The Zookeeper’s Wife” and “Whale Rider.” “The Cipher” centers on FBI Special Agent Nina Guerrera, who finds herself drawn into a serial killer’s case after he strategically posts complex codes and riddles online. The codes correspond to recent murders, designed to lure her into a cat-and-mouse chase. Liza Fleissig, Ginger Harris-Dontzin, Catherine Hagedorn and Maldonado will executive produce, and Courtney Baxter will serve as associate producer.

“I am excited to announce my new partnership with Netflix. Elaine, Benny and I believe there is no better home for us than a forward-leaning content creation company that seeks to defy conventional wisdom and directly market to the millions across the globe who no longer view art and entertainment with the kind of boundaries and limitations of the past,” Lopez said. “We at Nuyorican Productions are thrilled to find like-minded partners in Ted Sarandos, Scott Stuber, Bela Bajaria and the whole team and look forward to getting to work right away.”

Lopez is currently training for her role in “The Mother,” with production set to begin this fall and a scheduled release in the fourth quarter of 2022. The multi-hyphenate has appeared in many films, including “Hustlers,” which she co-produced with her Nuyorican banner.

Tessica Brown Is Showing Her New Hair Growth Video Following Her Gorilla Glue Incident!

“Hair, hair, hair. It’s the hair for me,” said Tessica Brown, who is better known as the Gorilla Glue Girl.

Last weekend Brown uploaded a video of herself showcasing her hair growth following her viral incident. She looked ecstatic with her new look while rocking an orange blouse, dazzling silver hoops, and long lashes as she ran her fingers through her loose short curls.

“You look superbπŸ’―πŸ™πŸΏπŸ’―.”

“Yes, it’s definitely healthy hair for me😍😍 growth; keep it up, Queen.”

In February of this year, Brown went viral when she posted a TikTok video telling social media users that she used Gorilla Glue spray instead of Got2B spray to slick down her braided ponytail. She unsuccessfully tried to move her hair despite the various products she put in to get the glue out.

After several unsuccessful attempts to get the glue out of her hair, Brown flew out to Los Angeles to receive a $12, 500 four-hour long surgery performed pro bono by Dr. Michael Obeng.

Dr. Obeng used a mixture of medical-grade adhesive remover, aloe vera, olive oil, and acetone to break the polyurethane — the main ingredient in Gorilla Glue to free Brown’s hair.

In other good news, Brown is also expecting a baby with her fiancΓ©, Dewitt Madison.

Brown’s manager, Gina Rodriguez, told TMZ that Brown and Madison are expecting their first blessing together. The internet sensation already had five children, and Madison has four, making their blended family a soon-to-be family of 10.

She confirmed the news in an Instagram post on March 27, writing, “πŸ™πŸΌ Blessed.”

It looks like things are headed in a good direction for Brown after her viral Internet moment.

Snoop Dogg Takes A Role At Def Jam As Executive Creative Consultant!

After 30 years as one of the foremost elder statesmen of the rap game, West Coast godfather Snoop Dogg has joined forces with another storied, foundational entity within hip-hop culture.

via: Variety:Legendary rapper Snoop Dogg has joined Def Jam Recordings as executive creative and strategic consultant, “a new role that will allow him to strategically work across the label’s executive team and artist roster,” according to the announcement. With an immediate focus on A&R and creative development, Snoop Dogg is joining Def Jam as a senior strategic advisor, based in Los Angeles and reporting to Universal Music Group Chairman & CEO Lucian Grainge and Def Jam interim Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Harleston, who is pictured above, left, with Snoop.

As has been proven many times over the decades, Snoop is not just a top-shelf rapper but also an extremely successful entrepreneur — which is one of the many things he plans to instruct the label’s young artists about. He not only executive produced the Netflix show “Coach Snoop, GGN: Double G News” and the TNT game show “Joker’s Wild,” he garnered an Emmy nomination as executive producer for the hit VH1 show, “Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party.” He also has made multiple investments and endorsements spanning the lifestyle, food/beverage, and cannabis industries, and founded the Snoop Youth Football League in 2005.

In the announcement, Snoop — who also alludes to the fact that Def Jam and his former label, Death Row, were deadly rivals in the 1990s — talks about the role.

“Now, you may wonder why, so late in my career, would I wanna work for Def Jam Records,” Snoops says as Def Jam artists Public Enemy’s 1989 classic “Fight the Power” plays in the background. “Well lemme tell ya, as a young rapper, Def Jam was the holy grail of hip-hop.”

He talked about the label’s great music — as video snippets of classic Def Jam artists from Public Enemy, the Beastie Boys and Slick Rick to Foxy Brown and Ludacris flash by — as well as its family vibe, musical legacy and efforts outside music, like Def Comedy Jam.

“So when I got the opportunity, my main focus on Def Jam was to help the artists and give them love and wisdom and guidance and understanding, teach them some tricks that I learned in the game — to diversify their portfolios to be superstars,” he continues.

He says he will also dig into the label’s catalog to tell the “life stories on these great artsts,” bring in new talent — “and maybe a Snoop album — you never know.”

He then thanks Grainge and signs off: “UMG-Def Jam: family until the wheels fall off.”

In a statement, Grainge said: “We’re thrilled that the one and only Snoop Dogg is bringing his deep industry experience, strong relationships, boundless creativity and infectious energy to Def Jam.”

Harleston added: “I have had the pleasure knowing and working with Snoop Dogg for more than twenty years. Not only does Snoop understand what it takes to be a successful artist, he is one of the most creative, strategic and entrepreneurial people I know. Snoop has a genuine passion for the label and the culture, and we are all excited to have Snoop join the Def Jam Family.”

Kim Kardashian Talks Why She Decided to Publicly Address Sex Tape Controversy on “KUWTK”!

As Keeping Up With the Kardashians comes to an end after 20 seasons, Kim Kardashian is opening up about her decision to speak about her infamous sex tape on the debut episode of the now hit reality series.

During a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, the 40-year-old beauty mogul confessed that she likely would never have publicly spoken about the scandalous tape with former boyfriend Ray J if it wasn’t for KUWTK.

“I do think that, obviously, as producers, I’m sure they loved it and loved us wanting to talk about the elephant in the room. And I probably wouldn’t have, unless it was for the show,” Kardashian said.

The KKW Beauty boss says that filming the show over the years has helped her family address things, as opposed to “sweeping them under the rug.” She says that she was also open and wanted to share whatever she was going through with the viewers.

“I wasn’t gonna hold back,” Kim K stated.

Kardashian also cleared up any misconceptions that the series resulted primarily from the sex tape. Lisa Berger, who formerly served as executive vice president of original programming and series development at E!, also confirmed to the Los Angeles Times that the series was much bigger than the notorious porn.

“Keeping Up With The Kardashians” is ending after 20 seasons on-air. The series finale will air Thursday, June 10th on E!

The FDA Has Approved The First Alzheimer’s Treatment To Treat Cognitive Decline!

The FDA has approved the first Alzheimer’s treatment to slow down cognitive decline. Critics are concerned the new drug doesn’t have enough evidence to guarantee it actually works.

Aducanumab is now the first Alzheimer’s drug to be cleared and approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The Washington Post reports the drug will change the course of the disease by slowing down the deterioration of brain function. The last time an Alzheimer’s drug was approved was in 2003.

The drug was manufactured by the biotech company Biogen; the FDA directs the company to test the drug. Biogen will put together a post-approval study to confirm the drug actually works.

The Washington Post reports the required portion of the program is called accelerated approval, and it “is designed to allow for earlier approval of drugs that treat serious or life-threatening conditions” so that the U.S. health industry can fix urgent or growing medical issues. Laurie McGinley of the newspaper writes.

Scientists, physicians, and health experts will track how well the medication reduces the amount of amyloid plaque found in the brain. In a statement, Patrizia Cavazzoni, director of the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, said clinical trials showed the decline in plaque “is expected to lead to a reduction in the clinical decline of this devastating form of dementia.”

However, critics say the way the drug has been handled between the FDA and Biogen is inappropriate. On Monday, Public Citizen said, “the close collaboration between the FDA and Biogen before and after the submission of the company’s marketing application for aducanumab dangerously compromised the integrity of the agency’s review.”
