POSE Actress Indya Moore for Porter Magazine!

Actor Indya Moore is in the house for the May 31, 2021 issue of Porter We quotes the magazine’s  ‘Moore Than Enough’ cover story:

Powerhouse actor and activist INDYA MOORE has long used their platform to speak out as a non-binary freethinker, helping to amplify the voices of LGBTQIA+ communities worldwide. Here, they catch up with KUCHENGA to explore the closing chapter of Pose, the indomitable spirit of the Bronx, and why redefining ‘home’ has set them free.

Sean Knight styles Moore in she-power looks from Calle Del Mar, Leslie Amon, Loewe, Magda Butrym, Norma Kamali, Patbo, Petar Petrov, Tomo Koizumi x Emilio Pucci and more. Photographer Camila Falquez captures Indya Moore as the closing chapter of Pose is set to air June 6 on FX Network (US).

In her own words, “KUCHENGA is a writer, a journalist and an avid reader of black women’s literature as a matter of survival.”

As the award-winning, thought-provoking show Pose comes to a close, Bronx-born Moore reflects on playing the role of Angel Evangelista, saying:

Art imitates life as a form of activism in the show, and Moore found it a deeply personal experience to be part of. “I think that our society underplays the level of trauma that trans folks experience as kids… [Pose is] a huge mirror, a reflection for so many of us into our childhood,” they consider. “It was anxiety-inducing in some ways, but it was also really affirming. I think it was cathartic, because reading that script, it was like, ‘Wow, I went through this.’”

issued resounding guilty verdicts in the George Floyd murder tail, Moore seizes the chance to pay homage to Raquel Willis, the Black trans activist and writer who helped to organize the Black Trans Lives Matter rally in Brooklyn during the uprisings of summer 2020. “She’s been really helpful around helping to organize a community [in New York],” they say. “I’m so grateful for everything she’s done.”

Other humans cited by Indya Moore as being influential in her life include authors bell hooks and Adrienne Maree Brown. Actor, producer, model and activist Devin Michael Lowe also gets some big love.

Asked what she hopes for next, as she kisses the character of Angel goodbye, Moore answers: “I just want a life of happiness and peace.” Always devoted to her trans community, the actor continues:

“I love my community. I want us to have what we need. I want us to have access to healthcare, security and shelter and love. Opening up those channels for my people is really important to me. That’s where I’m at.”

#RHOA: Drew Sidora Name-Drops LeBron James While Addressing the Rumor That She Dated Bolo the Stripper!

Real Housewives of Atlanta has everyone’s attention now, with rumors that Drew Sidora had a relationship with the stripper at the bachelorette party in season 13. Then she drops LeBron James’ name in the RHOA season 13 (part three) reunion like she wasn’t bragging about her connection to one of the world’s best athletic stars in history.

This isn’t the first time Sidora told fans (and anyone who would listen) she was close with the NBA star. In fact, an interview with Chicago Tribune in 2003 reports she cleared up rumors saying they dated in high school.

If you haven’t seen Bolo on RHOA’s stripper episode that premiered Cynthia Bailey’s dungeon-themed bachelorette party, then you’re missing out because nearly everyone has by now. It would be the understatement of the year to say the women enjoyed themselves.

Dubbed “Strippergate”, the evening led to some wild accusations of the housewives doing more than just dancing with Bolo. In particular, Kenya Moore called out Sidora, saying there wasn’t anything she didn’t do that night. At one point, she even recalls Sidora face down on a coffee table with Bolo and the girls dancing behind her.

Now the RHOA star told Andy Cohen in the reunion that his popularity and fame have spiked since premiering on the hit series show, “[My Only Fans is] doing pretty good. It’s doing a lot better than it was about two to three weeks ago.”

During talks of Bolo rumors between Andy Cohen, Kenya Moore, and Drew, Drew (not-so-subtly) name-dropped NBA star LeBron James — and the other housewives didn’t seem at all impressed by her bragging.

The RHOA Season 13 reunion (part three) conversation started with Drew saying, “Bolo said to me that he met me with LeBron James in the past. And so, yeah, I’m friends with LeBron James, and I used to be with a lot of people.”

To this, Cohen asked her, “You and LeBron and Bolo were together?” and Drew responded, “No! He said he met me out with LeBron, and he had eyes for me or something. And I was like, ‘Well, yeah, I be around a lot of Hollywood people. You know? I run in different circles, so…”

When she said this, Moore jumped in with, “that’s a lie.” Surprisingly, Drew admitted, “…OK, that might be true.” When Andy asked her again, “Are you and LeBron friends?” Drew answered they’ve “been friends [since] before he got in the NBA.”

Her past comments about LeBron from 2003

According to a 2003 Chicago Tribune article, Sidora’s name kept being mentioned at the NBA star’s high school sweetheart. Although she didn’t technically confirm a romantic one, she did confirm a relationship. “I don’t really like to talk about my personal life,” Sidora told the magazine. “I’ll just say that he’s my boy. We’re really good friends.”

For supposedly not liking to talk about her personal life, Drew Sidora has certainly made a living with Real Housewives of Atlanta doing just that. She has even gotten very comfortable talking about her long-time connection to one of the world’s most talented basketball stars in the game — including her not-so-subtle name-drop that made everyone roll their eyes. But, hey! Wouldn’t you name-drop him too if you could?

#HipHopNews: 50 Cent Probably Won’t Work On Pop Smoke’s Next Album!

Pop Smoke’s debut album Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon dominated the charts and became one of the best albums to release in 2020. Although the album was a success, there may have been some differing opinions on the work behind-the-scenes.

During an interview with Kris Kaylin, 50 Cent spoke about his role on the album and revealed his status with the next project. 50 took upon the responsibility of finishing Pop Smoke’s album after the “Dior” rapper was gunned down in February 2020.

“Steven was originally Pop’s manager and the label person he was signed to,” Fifty explained. “He spoke to me about the new record. I’m not sure if I’ll participate with that record. I just wanted to make sure that his record did what it was supposed to.”

He continued, “My interaction with Pop was that he was looking at me like I could tell him the right way to go and everything would work based on what I was saying. It’s unfortunate that it actually happened. It’s like the other side of it — when I’m coming up early on, I’m so connected to the environment that everything in the environment I’m subjected to the same.”

50 went on to explain the work he put into the album to make it as successful as it was. According to him, had Steven Victor and his team put it out, the record wouldn’t have made as much noise.

“So even with my success in music, I’m still subjected to everything the neighborhood is subjected to,” 50 said. “Cause of who I’m standing next to. In Pop’s scenario, personally, he told me he wanted to take his mom to an award show. Outside of producing the record and having it perform well, I did all the promotion for that record to have it work. They would have put it out and you’d have to find it out of basic interest.”

On May 1, Pop Smoke’s manager Rico Beats took to Instagram and shed light on the follow-up to Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon coming sooner rather than later.

“I see and hear everything kept it cool tho no worries pay back around the corner Pop smoke new album loading,” he wrote alongside a mirror selfie.

Naomi Osaka Announces Withdrawal From French Open After Media Blackout Controversy!

The world No. 2 announced her withdrawal on Monday, saying she wanted the focus to return to tennis and no longer wanted to be a distraction.

Osaka conceded that the timing of her previous announcement was "not ideal" and her message could have been clearer, but noted that she has suffered long bouts of depression since her victory at the 2018 US Open.

The statement ended with Osaka saying she is going to "take some time away from the court" in the wake of the controversy that has raged over the last five days, but still wishes to discuss the situation with tournament organizers.

Osaka announced her media blackout last Wednesday, four days before her first-round match at Roland Garros.

It didn't take long for the decision to become the story of the tournament, with talking heads and other tennis players weighing in. Not helping the situation was a Reddit post from Osaka's sister Mari, which painted the media blackout as a reflection of her sister's lack of confidence on clay (Osaka has never advanced past the third round of the French Open). Mari eventually deleted the post, but not before apologizing and saying she "probably made the situation worse."

The four-time Grand Slam champion eventually followed through on her promise after her win over Patricia Maria Tig on Sunday. The French Open responded by fining her $15,000, but the real pushback came in a joint statement with the other Grand Slam organizers:

We have advised Naomi Osaka that should she continue to ignore her media obligations during the tournament, she would be exposing herself to possible further Code of Conduct infringement consequences. As might be expected, repeat violations attract tougher sanctions including default from the tournament (Code of Conduct article III T.) and the trigger of a major offence investigation that could lead to more substantial fines and future Grand Slam suspensions (Code of Conduct article IV A.3.).

Facing a potential default from the tournament and suspensions from other Grand Slam tournaments, Osaka instead opted to walk away.

Hours after Osaka announced her withdrawal, French Tennis Federation president Gilles Moretton responded with a brief statement lamenting the situation and welcoming Osaka to next year's tournament:

"First and foremost, we are sorry and sad for Naomi Osaka. The outcome of Naomi withdrawing from Roland-Garros is unfortunate. We wish her the best and the quickest possible recovery, and we look forward to having Naomi at our Tournament next year.

"As all the Grand Slams, the WTA, the ATP and the ITF, we remain very committed to all athletes’ well-being and to continually improving every aspect of players’ experience in our Tournament, including with the Media, like we have always strived to do."

Moretton did not appear to offer any indication his tournament is willing to make a change in the future for Osaka, simply claiming the Grand Slams are "very committed to all athletes' well-being."

Osaka has been open about mental health struggles

While Osaka said her issues with depression date back to the 2018 US Open, she had actually spoken about it with reporters shortly after making her first major breakthrough with her 2018 win at Indian Wells:

“Yesterday I just woke up and I was really depressed, but I don’t know why ... I was able to win two matches, but I feel like that really doesn't say I can play well on clay. It's more, I think, I'm just an OK player that was able to play OK. Like, I’m so sad right now.”

Months later, after winning first Grand Slam at the 2018 US Open, Osaka discussed how athletes can struggle with depression with Teen Vogue about the problems athletes can face:

"You can easily get depressed. Usually, if you play sports, you think that one match or one game is very important, and when you lose it, you think your whole world is over. I can see how easily that can turn."

Athletes have become increasingly open about their mental health struggles in recent years, including Michael Phelps and Kevin Love. Osaka has been a part of that, once going as far as ascribing a split from a coach as prioritizing her happiness over her success (she has won two Grand Slam titles since). Once again, it appears she is prioritizing her well-being.

How long will Naomi Osaka stay away from tennis?

Osaka's statement addressed her status for the French Open, but it also leaves her status for future events unclear.

Wimbledon, the other Grand Slam that Osaka has never won, is scheduled to begin in just four weeks, though preparations will likely need to begin much earlier if Osaka wants to competitive in the tournament. If Osaka doesn't want to play before then and can't work out a media arrangement to her liking, it could mean another Grand Slam missed.

Naomi Osaka's full statement:

"Hey everyone, this isn't a situation I ever imagined or intended when I posted a few days ago. I think now the best thing for the tournament, the other players and my well-being is that I withdraw so that everyone can get back to focusing on the tennis going on in Paris. I never wanted to be a distraction and I accept that my timing was not ideal and my message could have been clearer. More importantly I would never trivialize mental health or use the term lightly.

"The truth is that I have suffered long bouts of depression since the US Open in 2018 and I have had a really hard time coping with that. Anyone that knows me knows I'm introverted, and anyone that has seen me at the tournaments will notice that I'm often wearing headphones as that helps dull my social anxiety. Though the tennis press has always been kind to me (and I wanna apologize especially to all the cool journalists who I may have hurt), I am not a natural public speaker and get huge waves of anxiety before I speak to the world's media. I get really nervous and find it stressful to always try to engage and give you the best answers I can.

"So here in Paris I was already feeling vulnerable and anxious so I thought it was better to exercise self-care and skip the press conferences. I announced it preemptively because I do feel like the rules are quite outdated in parts and I wanted to highlight that. I wrote privately to the tournament apologizing and saying that I would be more than happy to speak with them after the tournament as the Slams are intense. I'm gonna take some time away from the court now, but when the time is right I really want to work with the Tour to discuss ways we can make things better for the players, press and fans. Anyways hope you are all doing well and staying safe, love you guys I'll see you when I see you."

Lets wish her well!

Blair Underwood and Desiree DaCosta Split After 27 Years of Marriage!

Blair Underwood and his wife Desiree DaCosta are calling it quits.

The actor, 56, and DaCosta shared a joint statement to Instagram Sunday to announce that they are splitting after 27 years of marriage. The exes share sons Paris, 24, and Blake, 19, and daughter Brielle, 22.

"After a tremendous amount of thought, prayer & work on ourselves individually & collectively, we have come to the conclusion to end our marriage that began 27 years ago," the statement began.

"It has truly been a beautiful journey," Underwood and DaCosta continued. "Our proudest achievements are our three incredible children. Three souls to which God entrusted us. We continue to be awed & humbled by the blessings of parenting. We have always put their best interests first & will continue to do so. We will continue to be the best of friends and co-parents and have the utmost respect for one another as we embark upon this new chapter of our lives, separately."

The exes concluded their statement saying, "We thank you all for your support throughout the years & we humbly ask for privacy & understanding during this new season of change."

Underwood previously spoke highly about his relationship with DaCosta in a 2008 interview with Oprah.com, during which he reflected on watching his dad serve as the breadwinner to his mom while growing up.

"I wanted to be her rock, her protector," the L.A. Law actor said of DaCosta. "If she had a problem, I wanted to solve it. I thought that's what was expected of me."

But Underwood said that thanks to DaCosta, he eventually learned that he didn't need to fix all of her problems, but merely support her when she needed him by her side.

"I was relieved as well; she didn't expect me to always have an answer for her," he said. "She wasn't coming to me for a repair. She just needed a shoulder to cry on."

Bill Cosby Airs Out Grievances With Media On Instagram After Being Denied Parole!

Disgraced comedian Bill Cosby has spent the last three years behind bars on sexual assault charges, but he recently took to his social media to air his grievances with the media after being denied parole.

Cosby, 83, chose not to participate in required therapy for sexually violent predators. Therapy is one of the conditions necessary to meet eligibility for parole. Since Cosby has maintained his innocence throughout, he declined to participate.

This was his first parole appearance since being sentenced to three to ten years in prison in 2018.

“He called me and told me that if he didn’t take the course, he would be denied. He has maintained his innocence from the beginning,” said spokesman Andrew Wyatt.

On Saturday, a statement was posted to Cosby’s Instagram account, accusing the media of twisting public perception.

“They are lying to you. Here are the facts: Contrary to what you have been reading in the media, Mr. Cosby was never charged nor convicted of rape,” the statement read. “Mr. Cosby was convicted of aggravated indecent assault, for which he maintains his innocence.”

The statement also blames the “media and its machine” for misleading and misrepresenting the facts surrounding Cosby’s case in manipulating the public’s opinion.

Blac Chyna Calls Out Kardashians: ‘All Of Them Are Baby Mamas’!

After her legal battle against the Kardashians moved forward late last year, Blac Chyna still isn’t thrilled with the famous family.

The model, entrepreneur, and former partner of Rob Kardashian hopped on Instagram Stories to call out the Kardashian sisters over the weekend. Reposting a video of Khloé, Kourtney, Kim, Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner, Chyna wrote that “If they were black, they’ll say it’s Ghetto BUT ALL OF THEM ARE BABY MAMAs,” alongside a thinking emoji.

All of the sisters have had kids except for Kendall. Kim has four kids, Kourtney has three, Khloé has one baby, and Kylie parents her daughter Stormi alongside father Travis Scott.

Chyna’s post seemed to be unprovoked, however, it comes several months after a Los Angeles Superior Court judge denied the Kardashians’ motion to dismiss a lawsuit she filed back in 2017. In it, Chyna claims the family worked to cancel her spin-off series Rob & Chyna and argues that they used their “power and influence over the E! network to kill the second season.” The defense argues that the family didn’t have any sway in that decision. The trial is set to begin in November of 2021.

“Blac Chyna will seek millions in compensatory and punitive damages from Kris, Kim, Khloé, and Kylie for defamation, intentional interference with contract, and intentional interference with prospective economic advantage,” Chyna’s attorney, Lynne Ciani told Us Weekly. “Chyna is ‘beyond thrilled’ that she will have her day in court.”

Kelly Price Accuses Texas Promoter of Not Paying Her!

R&B singer Kelly Price went in on a concert promoter who went MIA hours before her concert was scheduled to start.

via: The Grio: The “Friend of Mine” singer took to Instagram Live to call out the promoter who “couldn’t afford” to pay her after a performance.

Price, along with singer Lyfe Jennings and standup comedian Marcus D. Wiley, was listed as a performer for the 1NE Hope Experience in Galveston, Texas on Saturday and shared a video of herself promoting the event.

“You would tell the people at the venue that I canceled tonight because I was too upset about my grandmother?” Kelly said angrily. “If I was too upset about my grandmother I would’ve never gotten on the plane. The woman that I am today is because of my grandmother and it’s the reason why I got on the plane to do this concert today.”

“I would’ve seen her tomorrow and she would’ve been proud that I held up to my agreement and that I was a woman of integrity, and that I came and did what I said I was going to do. First and foremost! I don’t know who your grandma is. I know who mine is but whoever raised you should be ashamed today cause they raised a liar,” the singer said to the promoter.

She continued, ” And they raised a cheater, and they raised someone who don’t pay their bills, and they raised somebody who would blame a woman for them being less than a man and not being able to handle his business. I said it. I meant it. And you are going to see it cause enough people will see it and will let you know that they saw it. You suck. And I hope that from now on anything that you try to put on it sinks and it fails because nobody deserves to be treated the way you treated me and Lyfe Jennings this evening.”

She then called promoter Kendrick James and RevUpNation, “horrible, disgusting and despicable” and said he doesn’t “deserve the platform of a promoter.”

Price ended the video saying he messed up by bringing up her grandmother and that God will “stand up” on her behalf.

LISTEN HERE

She posted updates on Instagram discussing the incident and continuing to call out the promoter. Musician Dee1 told Price in the comment section, “I was booked on this concert too sis. I’m going thru the same thing. But hearing this about your grandmaw’s name being thrown around is heartbreaking and not cool at all.”

Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell Enjoy the Hamptons with Tyler Cameron and Camila Kendra!

Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell took a trip to the Hamptons over Memorial Day weekend with Tyler Cameron and Camila Kendra.

Close pals James, 29, and Cameron, 28, took their respective girlfriends Kirkconnell, 24, and Kendra to Long Island for the holiday, where they hit up local hot spot Bounce Beach Montauk.

James and Cameron posed for an Instagram photo at the bar, which the former Bachelor captioned: "Found The End Of The World." Kirkconnell joked in the post's comments section that she's "forever the third wheel" between the longtime buddies.

On James' Instagram Story Sunday, he shared a video of Kirkconnell, Cameron and Kendra sipping on beverages while out together. He also shared a photo at another local hot spot, the Surf Lodge, and a shot of himself in bed with dessert.

Following a public breakup after Kirkconnell's racially insensitive social media posts resurfaced, James confirmed to PEOPLE in April that he was once again "pursuing" a relationship with the Bachelor winner. "I said I was going to focus on my relationship with her and that means focusing on it," he said at the time.

James also confirmed that he would not be appearing on Bachelor in Paradise this summer in light of his rekindled relationship with Kirkconnell, and also said there was a similarly "negative chance" Cameron would appear amid his romance with Kendra.

The real estate broker recently opened up about the "ultimatum" Kirkconnell gave him before they got back together. "She was like, 'If you're going to make this work, let's do it. But, if you're not going to make it work, I'm going to let you do your own thing,'" he said on a podcast earlier this month.

"That's really all I needed. It was an ultimatum that I needed," he continued. "It's been great. It was honestly a commitment that we made to each other that we were going to work on the relationship."

Cameron, meanwhile, was first spotted with Kendra in New York City this past January. The two have yet to publicly address their relationship.

Atlanta Braves' Marcell Ozuna Allegedly Threatened To Kill His Wife Before Domestic Violence Arrest

Marcell Ozuna is facing a felony charge as well as an investigation by MLB.

An arrest affidavit has revealed new details surrounding the arrest of Atlanta Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna, and they paint a disturbing picture of what allegedly went down before police arrived at the scene.

Ozuna was arrested Saturday on a count of aggravated assault strangulation and misdemeanor battery-family violence charges. The charge is reportedly a felony with a minimum one year in prison and maximum of 20. MLB has also announced it will investigate Ozuna under its domestic violence policy.

Ozuna was granted a $20,000 bond on Monday, according to the Associated Press, with an order of no contact with his wife. Attorneys reportedly said in court the couple is in the process of divorce.

Affidavit: Ozuna threatened, assaulted wife during argument over cell phones

The affidavit, acquired by Atlanta's WSB-TV, claims the conflict between Ozuna and his wife, Genesis Guzman, began when he took both of her cellphones while she was in the shower and refused to give them as they argued over marital infidelity.

Ozuna allegedly threatened to kill her while his wife threatened to call 911, which she followed through on with the former All-Star's own cell phone. At that point, Ozuna allegedly left the house with the cell phones while Guzman chased after him. The affidavit claims Ozuna warned her he was “not going to hit her harder because the police were en route,” in Spanish.

Guzman then reportedly went back into the house, locked the front door and grabbed a kitchen knife while on the phone with the 911 operator. Ozuna allegedly re-entered the house through the garage and verbally abused her, while Guzman threatened to hurt him with the knife if he came closer. She told police she feared for her life because of past physical abuse.

Guzman reportedly dropped the knife and approached him to try to get the phones, which allegedly resulted in him striking her hands with the cellphones, then pushing his left forearm — which was in a cast due to fractured fingers — into her face.

The fight allegedly continued until police arrived to find Ozuna choking Guzman against the wall.

Police say that Guzman had bruises on the backs of her hands and redness on her forearm consistent with those events, as well as redness on her forehead.

Ozuna reportedly admitted to police that he took his wife's cellphones and pushed her to the ground as the argument turned physical. He claimed the Guzman kicked him when she was one the ground, and confirmed that she had a knife when he returned to the house after exiting.

He reportedly claimed, however, that he exited the home again when she dropped the knife, at which point she followed him outside and tried to throw a garden light at him. He then allegedly followed her back into the house, where she picked up the knife again and the two resumed arguing.

Police claim Ozuna tried to change the order of events when asked to give a second statement.

Ozuna's wife has been arrested for domestic battery

This isn't the first time that Ozuna — currently in the first year of a four-year, $65 million deal with the Braves — and his wife have had a domestic incident investigated by police.

Guzman was arrested in 2020 for allegedly striking her husband in the face with a soap dish, according to the Miami Herald. It's unclear if the domestic battery charge is still pending.

The pair have three children together, and have reportedly been married for more than 10 years.

Raven-Symoné says she lost 28 pounds: 'I got a whole different face going on'!

"Pounds Down (Ear update)," posted the 35-year-old "Raven's Home" and former "Cosby Show" star in the caption for a live video she filmed in the car over the weekend with her wife, Miranda Pearman-Maday, whom she wed last year. "Just sayin hi! Info about the pounds down journey/ear piercing/and moving."

In the video, Raven-Symoné gave her 2.4 million Instagram followers an update on her curly hair routine and ear piercing done by Pearman-Maday before sharing the news of her weight loss success.

"On another note, pounds down, pounds down!" she announces. "Check out the chin, babe. You see that chin?" she says, drawing attention to her jawline.

"If y'all watch 'Raven's Home' literally right now and then come on this Live and see this joint, I got a whole different face going on," she says as Pearman-Maday nods in agreement. "It's a whole pounds down journey," she says.

"Just so you guys know, I am 28 pounds down," she says as she and Pearman-Maday cheer.

"You're incredible, honey, you're doing so good," says Pearman-Maday.

Raven-Symoné then shares that she's in the middle of a 48-hour fast. "So we're on that journey right now," she says, revealing that she and Pearman-Maday had just done a 30-minute walk together around the neighborhood for exercise.

Pearman-Maday goes on to say that though she can't give too many details, she and Raven-Symoné have started an exercise journey together that they'll be posting about on their YouTube channel.

"We're still filming it; we're going to share it with you guys as soon as it's all done," says Raven-Symoné.

"I think it's safe to say it's kind of, like, transformative," says Pearman-Maday.

"I mean, you see that jawline though right now?" says Raven-Symoné proudly. "It looks like I have a neck."

"You do!" says Pearman-Maday.

Last year, the former "That's So Raven" star recalled to People being body-shamed in the early 2000s. "There was definitely a seesaw within my mind," she said. "I prevailed over it because at the end of the day, it's like, 'Come on, people, everybody's a different size.'"

Upcoming Jeezy Concert Has Detroit City Council Feeling Some Kinda Way!

DETROIT, MI – Detroit is putting on an event for a good cause on Saturday (May 30) that even features a Jeezy concert, but not everybody in the Corktown community is thrilled about the return of larger parties, events and concerts in line for the summer.

For Memorial Day Weekend, the Occupy The Corner bike giveaway is slated to begin around 1 p.m. on Saturday and will feature a plethora of free resources for the public at The Corner Ballpark. The Detroit Police Athletic League (PAL) event will even conclude with a performance from Jeezy as well.

“It does get a little bit noisy, especially if it’s two o’clock at night,” resident Taurean Thomas told WDIV4. “They’re working to do good in the community and these are some of things they have to do to bring good to the community. You’re not going to please everybody all the time. I think this is a simple issue of communication and communication can probably solve a lot of the problems.”

Detroit City Council members received numerous emails from residents with complaints regarding COVID, safety, noise and more when it comes to the event. Overall, residents are upset with the lack of communication between the PAL and the public.

“The Idea is to approve this weekend and then to agree that we will continue to have a dialogue about what true engagement looks like with this community and overall the future of even hosting events at PAL,” Council President Mary Sheffield added.

The Off The Corner bike giveaway will also provide free haircuts, food and drinks, and double as a vaccination site for those who haven’t gotten the shot yet.

Lizzo Says the 'Best Transformations Are the Ones Only You Can See' in New Workout Video!

Lizzo is feeling "Good as Hell" after reinvesting in herself.

Over the last year, the rapper and singer, 33, has upped her workouts and switched to a vegan diet, and she's experiencing major mental changes. But, as Lizzo pointed out in a new TikTok, they're mostly visible to herself.

"The best transformations are the ones only you can see," she captioned the video. "Celebrate yourself."

Lizzo compiled clips from a few of her workouts for the TikTok, and in it she's doing everything from jumping rope, to doing squats with a kettlebell, to pushing a sled loaded down with weights — and even pulling a sled carrying one of her friends.

A few days earlier, the three-time Grammy winner celebrated a big milestone in her workout journey — exercising in shorts.

"Now let me tell you. I was always too insecure — well, not too insecure, but too self-conscious — to work out in shorts. Also my thigh meat chafes, so I was like, why do that?" she explained in another TikTok.

"But today I'm working out in shorts and I'm gonna keep it real with y'all: not much has changed, physically, about myself, but a lot has changed here, mentally. Here, emotionally," she continued, pointing to her head and then to her heart. "I accept myself. These shorts are a little long so they won't chafe, but I'm doing it! Yay!"

Lizzo started sharing videos of her workouts on TikTok a year earlier and emphasized that she's not exercising to lose weight.

"Hey, so I've been working out consistently for the last five years and it may come as a surprise to some of y'all that I'm not working out to have your ideal body type. I'm working out to have my ideal body type," she said in a video. "And you know what type that is? None of your f---ing business because I am beautiful, I am strong, I do my job and I stay on my job."

She continued, "So next time you want to come to somebody and judge them whether they drink kale smoothies or eat McDonalds, or work out or not work out, how about you look at your own f---ing self and worry about your own goddamn body because health is not just determined on what you look like on the outside. Health is also what happens on the inside — and a lot of y'all need to do a f---ing cleanse for your insides."
