#RHOA: Is Light Skinned Keisha Joining The RHOA Cast?

In season 13 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, newbies Drew Sidora, LaToya Ali, and Falynn Guobadia were all fresh faces to the hit Bravo TV show’s cast. While they definitely spiced up the dynamics of the group’s relationships and brought their own drama to the mix, could a former Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star who’s been seen hanging out with the RHOA ladies lately be one to shake up things for season 14?

Over the past several days, online rumors have been swirling that 26-year-old musical artist Light Skin Keisha will be “a guest of the show” for RHOA’s upcoming season. While you might know her face from LHHATL, she’s also an actress on Power Book II: Ghost. Various conversations have been happening on Twitter about the possibility since The Peach Report cryptically tweeted “How would y’all feel about a LHHATL star joining as a guest?” In its replies, they followed up by detailing, “this particular person is close to an outspoken veteran…”

After the account additionally tweeted “C’mon now Beisha” — a reference to Keisha’s social media handle @bigbankbeisha — on Instagram @theneighborhoodtalk fueled the flames of the rumors by posting a snapshot of the post with a caption that read “Let me just say I asked around and the tea is definitely HOTTT on this one! Go Keisha 🔥🔥🔥🔥.”

While nothing has been confirmed by Bravo, something we do know is that Keisha doesn’t miss her days on LHHATL. In a recent tweet, she even referred to the show as “toxic.”

According to Bossip, “If Keisha is indeed added as a guest on #RHOA season 14 she could potentially join Porsha, Cynthia, Kandi, Kenya, friend of the show Marlo Hampton, allegedly returning guest Falynn Guobadia, allegedly returning friend of the show LaToya Ali and allegedly returning housewife Sheree Whitfield.”

#HipHopNews: Drake Says ‘Certified Lover Boy’ Will Drop By End Of Summer!

Certified Lover Boy is around the corner. After much anticipation, Drake’s long-awaited album is inching closer to release. In a livestreamed interview during battle rap event NOME XI on Saturday, the Toronto rapper shared that CLB will arrive by the end of summer.

“It’s at the end of the summer,” said the interviewer, referring to the Summer Madness 11 battle between Murda Mook and Reed Dollaz. Drake replied, “Yeah, I’ll be there. My album will be out by then.”

It’s unclear exactly when he plans to drop, but summer officially starts June 20 and ends Sept. 22.

Back in March, the Canadian superstar provided an update on his sixth studio album, which was delayed from January due to his knee injury.

“I’m just grateful to be back on my feet. I went through a little bit of a tough stretch with an injury and I’m back in tip-top form,” he said on OVO Sound Radio. “CLB is currently being cheffed in every way possible…I’m back in the studio with 40 tough. I’m just really excited about the music that we’re making and I feel like I’ve locked into a zone where I’m really trying to execute on a project that’s fulfilling for my soul.”

He also dropped a trio of tracks–“What’s Next,” “Wants and Needs” with Lil Baby, and “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” featuring Rick Ross, which debuted at Nos. 1, 2, and 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.

During Saturday’s NOME XI livestream on Caffeine.tv, Drake handed out a $100,000 prize to the winner of the third season of the Ultimate Madness tournament.

The BET Awards, Taraji P. Henson Will Host 2021 Queen Latifah to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award!

This year’s BET Awards where it will definitely be “ladies first.” Taraji P. Henson will host the 2021 show on June 27 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

On Monday (June 14), BET announced that Henson will host the 2021 BET Awards, while Latifah has been named to receive the show’s prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.

Henson most recently starred as Cookie Lyon on the hit show “Empire.” Her role earned her three Emmy nominations, a Golden Globe award, three BET awards and a Critics Choice award. As REVOLT previously reported, last month, she launched a mental health initiative for Black students called The Unspoken Curriculum. The program will help Black students identify signs of trauma and empower them to seek guidance.

“For more than 20 years, the BET Awards have been a celebration of Black creativity, art and excellence,” said the Hidden Figures actress. “Returning live, this year’s show will be unlike anything we have ever seen before, and I am honored to be sharing the stage with so many powerful and prolific women in music and entertainment. The BET Awards will once again be at the forefront of Black culture.”

Latifah, who became the first hip hop artist to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, has starred in several hit shows and films, including Girl’s Trip, Beauty Shop, The Perfect Holiday and “Living Single.” She currently stars in and executive produces the CBS series reboot of The Equalizer.

“Black women have been essential drivers of change throughout history, from the political sphere to the cultural zeitgeist,” said Connie Orlando, EVP Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy at BET. “The BET Awards is the ultimate celebration of Black culture, and we are looking forward to spotlighting and celebrating Black women during this year’s show, recognizing them for everything they’ve accomplished and applauding them for what’s to come.”

The 2021 BET Awards will air live on BET on Sunday, June 27 at 8 p.m. ET.

Kevin Hart speaks out on cancel culture: 'When did we get to a point where life was supposed to be perfect?'

According to Kevin Hart, he "personally [doesn't] give a s***" about so-called cancel culture — but he certainly has a lot to say on the matter.

The comedian and star of the upcoming Netflix film Fatherhood, who weathered his own backlash after old homophobic jokes resurfaced and resulted in him stepping down from his Oscars hosting gig in 2019, spoke out about internet outrage in a raw new interview with the Sunday Times.

"If somebody has done something truly damaging then, absolutely, a consequence should be attached," Hart told the U.K. newspaper. "But when you just talk about… nonsense? When you’re talking, ‘Someone said! They need to be taken [down]!’ Shut the f*** up! What are you talking about?

“When did we get to a point where life was supposed to be perfect?" the Get Hard star continued. "Where people were supposed to operate perfectly all the time? I don’t understand. I don’t expect perfection from my kids. I don’t expect it from my wife, friends, employees. Because, last I checked, the only way you grow up is from f***ing up. I don’t know a kid who hasn’t f***ed up or done some dumb shit.”

The 41-year-old touched on his own controversies, saying he didn't let the backlash affect him. He went on to argue that those who do make mistakes be given the opportunity to learn, grow and move on.

“I’ve been canceled, what, three or four times? Never bothered," he said. "If you allow it to have an effect on you, it will. Personally? That’s not how I operate.

"I understand people are human," he added. "Everyone can change. It’s like jail. People get locked up so they can be taught a lesson. When they get out, they are supposed to be better. But if they come out and people go, ‘I’m not giving you a job because you were in jail’ — then what the f*** did I go to jail for? That was my punishment — how do you not give those people a shot? They’re saying that all life should be over because of a mistake? Your life should end and there should be no opportunity to change? What are you talking about? And who are you to make that decision?”

According to Hart, comedians like himself are holding themselves back for fear of running afoul of a sensitive climate.

“You’re thinking that things you say will come back and bite you on the ass," he said of censoring his material. "I can’t be the comic today that I was when I got into this.”

He later clarified that ruffling feathers with an off-color joke is "not necessarily about cancel culture, it’s backlash.

"It’s about the intent behind what you say — there’s an assumption it’s always bad and, somehow, we forgot comedians are going for the laugh. You’re not saying something to make people angry. That’s not why I’m on stage. I’m trying to make you laugh and if I did not make you laugh I failed. That’s my consequence.”

Ultimately, Hart feels that society should be able to have disagreement without division or backlash.

"If there’s a message to take from anything I’ve said, it’s that in this world of opinion, it’s OK to just disagree," he told the paper. "It’s OK to not like what someone did and to say that person wasn’t for me. We are so caught up in everybody feeling like they have to be right and their way is the only way. Politics is f***ed up because, if you don’t choose our side, you’re dumb.

“It’s a divide. It’s f***ed up. But I’m not about to divide. I don’t support the divide! I put everybody in the f***ing building. We all come into this building Kevin Hart is in and we all laugh. I bring people together — like it or not.”

The father of four also addressed the controversy surrounding his Oscars announcement and his past jokes about the LGBTQ community.

"If people want to pull up stuff, go back to the same tweets of old, go ahead," he said. "There is nothing I can do. You’re looking at a younger version of myself. A comedian trying to be funny and, at that attempt, failing. Apologies were made. I understand now how it comes off. I look back and cringe. So it’s growth. It’s about growth.

Chrissy Teigen Issues Lengthy Apology Following Bullying Scandal!

The world has a lot to say about “cancel culture”—whether or not it works, or if it even exists in the first place.

Oftentimes though, what some folks deem as “cancellation” is nothing more than the sharp, hot feeling of someone holding them accountable for the things they’ve done. And nobody likes that feeling.

Famous or not, nobody likes it when someone holds a mirror up to their face and shows them all the wrong they did or all the harm they caused—and demands they acknowledge and take ownership of that wrong and harm and get on the path of some serious course correction. It happens to the best (and worst) of us from time to time though and if you need proof of that, look no further than Chrissy Teigen.

For context, the model and cookbook author recently made her return to Twitter in the form of a lengthy apology (posted on Medium) after a nearly month-long break. Why the break, you ask? Well back in March, TV personality Courtney Stodden posted a series of since-deleted Instagram videos detailing the myriad of crass and abhorrent jokes Teigen made about them (Stodden is nonbinary and uses they/them) at the beginning of the 2010s and into 2011.

Vox with the scoop:

Stodden first became famous in 2011, when at the age of 16 they married 50-year-old acting coach Doug Hutchison. (Stodden is nonbinary.) Stodden and Hutchinson are now divorced, and from the vantage point of 2021, it’s clear that during their marriage, Stodden was a child who was being abused by an adult man. But in 2011, Stodden was widely considered to be someone ridiculous and mockable, someone whose feelings you didn’t have to care about. People called them “the child bride” and made vicious jokes at their expense. Teigen was not only one of many to make those jokes, but did so in a particularly brutal fashion, directing them right at Stodden.

“I experienced so much harassment and bullying from her when I was just 16 years old,” Stodden said of Teigen in an Instagram video in March of 2021. “At a time when I needed help. I was being abused.”Stodden revealed multiple tweets Teigen sent to them at the beginning of the 2010s. “my Friday fantasy: you. dirt nap. mmm baby,” Teigen tweeted at Stodden in 2011. In another tweet, she simply wrote, “I hate you.”

“It really affected me,” Stodden said in their Instagram video. “It’s so damaging when you have somebody like Chrissy Teigen bullying children.”

Then in May, the Daily Beast published an interview with Stodden where they went into further detail about just how bad Teigen’s bullying tweets were. That article understandably went viral and caused a chain of reactions.Teigen issued a series of apology tweets not too long after and then went on a short hiatus until today.

In her apology letter, titled Hi Again, Teigen talks about how she had been “sitting in a hole of deserved global punishment, the ultimate ‘sit here and think about what you’ve done’” and acknowledged the fact that there was “simply no excuse for my past horrible tweets.

“As you know, a bunch of my old awful (awful, awful) tweets resurfaced. I’m truly ashamed of them. As I look at them and understand the hurt they caused, I have to stop and wonder: How could I have done that?,” she wrote in part.

“I’ve apologized publicly to one person, but there are others — and more than just a few — who I need to say I’m sorry to. I’m in the process of privately reaching out to the people I insulted. It’s like my own version of that show My Name is Earl! I understand that they may not want to speak to me. I don’t think I’d like to speak to me. (The real truth in all of this is how much I actually cannot take confrontation.)

But if they do, I am here and I will listen to what they have to say, while apologizing through sobs. There is simply no excuse for my past horrible tweets. My targets didn’t deserve them. No one does. Many of them needed empathy, kindness, understanding and support, not my meanness masquerading as a kind of casual, edgy humor.

I was a troll, full stop. And I am so sorry.”

She concludes by saying, “I have so much love to give if you are open and willing to accept it. And if not, that’s okay too. That’s something I work on being more okay with every day. I know I let you down, but I hope I can make you proud. It’s been a heavy few weeks, so I’m going to take some more time to focus on things that are most important — being with my family and taking care of myself. We are all more than our worst moments. I won’t ask for your forgiveness, only your patience and tolerance. I ask that you allow me, as I promise to allow you, to own past mistakes and be given the opportunity to seek self improvement and change.”

JLO and Ben Affleck Being Spotted Kissing For The First Time!

The confirmation folks have been waiting for…After weeks of heavy speculation, it seems like Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have finally confirmed that they are back together. As Page Six reports, the reunited couple were photographed kissing for the first time since reigniting their romance earlier this year.

In the snaps taken by BACKGRID, Affleck, 48, and Lopez, 51, are seen having a steamy, make-out session while at dinner at Nobu in Malibu, Calif., on Sunday. Apparently, they were joined by the singer’s family for her sister Linda Lopez’s 50th birthday, however, the two clearly couldn’t keep their eyes or lips off of each other! Page Six also notes that in an exclusive video from the family gathering shows that J.Lo’s kids with ex-husband Marc Anthony — 13-year-olds Max and Emme — were also present for the occasion.

Lopez and Affleck were engaged in 2002 and costarred in the films Jersey Girl and Gigli. The two postponed their 2003 wedding days before they were set to walk down the aisle before officially calling it quits in January 2004. Most recently, she dated Alex Rodriguez before calling off their engagement in April.

Though it was said that they were trying to make it work, unfortunately the two weren’t able to.

However, it appears all is good with Ben and Jlo. A source recently revealed that Lopez “is incredibly happy” in her rekindled romance with Affleck, adding, “They are both acting very comfortable in their relationship.”

Chanel West Coast Confirms Nicki Minaj Is The Reason Her Deal With Young Money Didn’t Work Out!

During a recent interview with Shirley Ju for Shirley’s Temple, Chanel spoke briefly about what happened with Young Money, sharing that Nicki was indeed the reason behind her leaving Young Money.

When Shirley mentioned the topic, Chanel shared, “It didn’t work out because, basically, it was more because of certain people really not feeling me being part of the clique.” The interviewer mentioned Nicki Minaj’s name and Chanel confirmed that she was speaking about her. “Yeah, yeah, it was that,” she said. “But I don’t really wanna talk about that because it’s really old. I’m really grateful that Wayne fucked with me and gave me a co-sign and was like, be part of my clique, but yeah, I can’t control what happened. So many different politics that people don’t know behind the scenes.”

Chanel shares that she really wanted to work with Lil Wayne, even naming her dog after him but in the end she decided to part ways.

CNN’s Christiane Amanpour Says She Is Being Treated for Ovarian Cancer!

Veteran CNN correspondent told viewers Monday that she recently had surgery for ovarian cancer and will undergo chemotherapy for a period of weeks.

Amanpour, who has not been hosting her program for CNN’s international outlets for the past four weeks, returned to the air Monday and opened her program with remarks about her condition.

Wendy Williams Says She Didn't Wash Her Boob for Two Weeks After Halle Berry 'Flicked' It!

Wendy Williams was so enamored after meeting and interviewing Halle Berry that she decided not to wash her boob for two weeks after Halle touched it.

via Page Six:

“By the end of the conversation, she flicked my boob and winked at me,” Williams said of her 2012 interview with Berry. “I didn’t wash that boob for two weeks.”

While in conversation with Don Lemon for Interview magazine, Williams also recalled being so intimidated to interview Berry that she nearly complied with Berry’s publicist’s “list of questions” she wasn’t allowed to ask her.

“I was so scared to meet her. When she walked into the room, everyone stopped. She looked directly at me and smiled, and I smiled back. Suddenly, I wasn’t scared,” Williams recalled.

“But suddenly, I felt like, ‘I’m going to ask her anything I want.’ And she said, ‘Wendy, girl, you can ask me whatever.’ And I did.”

Berry, then 46 and engaged to now-ex-husband Olivier Martinez, appeared on “The Wendy Williams” show in 2012 and talked to the daytime talk show host about motherhood, the paparazzi and her career.

“I’m a much better mother at 46 or 41 when I had [my daughter Nahla] than if I were 21 or 25,” the “Monster’s Ball” star shared. “I was just a little baby just trying to figure it out, trying to figure out who I was let alone have the responsibility of trying to help another little soul develop and grow.

“I’m so glad I waited.”

Wendy has a lot of titty surface area to cover — or in this case, not cover. Not washing all that skin for two weeks sounds like a hygienic nightmare.

Caitlyn Jenner brands Jimmy Kimmel 'transphobic' as she slams him for calling her 'Trump in a wig'!

Caitlyn Jenner refused to hold back after being called "Trump in a wig" by comedian Jimmy Kimmel.

Jenner, who is running for governor of California, hit back at the talk show host as she branded him "transphobic" over his comments toward her.

Jenner posted a series of Kimmel's past offenses like performing in black face and a joke about "killing everyone in China," as she asked if there was any group he won't attack.

Sharing a screenshot on Twitter of The Sun's story about Kimmel's comments and questioned why the LGBTQ community was not condemning him, she wrote: "Last night @jimmykimmel called me Donald Trump with a wig.

"He obviously believes that trans women are simply men with wigs on. Where is the outrage from the left or LGBT community Being WOKE must be optional if you are a Democrat."

Kimmel compared Jenner to Donald Trump during an episode of his show on Thursday, after she appeared on The View earlier that day.

"Are we sure that isn't Donald Trump in a Caitlyn Jenner wig?" the host quipped. "The resemblance is uncanny," he added.

Kimmel later referred to the gubernatorial candidate as "Caitlyn Jenner Car-crash-ian". He added: "Caitlyn Jenner has a better chance of being the next Batman than she does governor of California. She knows little to nothing about anything."

In her takedown, Jenner brought up several controversies Kimmel has gotten heat for in the past.

Alongside a photo of Kimmel dressed up as NBA player Karl Malone in the 90s, Jenner wrote: "Speaking of @jimmykimmel he also received a pass from the WOKE on his use of black face and racist actions. Hypocrite."

Kimmel was forced to issue an apology for the incident in 2020 after the photos resurfaced. He said: "I never considered that this might be seen as anything other than an imitation of a fellow human being, one that had no more to do with Karl's skin color than it did his bulging muscles and bald head."

Two Teens Arrested After They Shot A Lennox Square Mall Security Guard!

According to Atlanta police, two 15-year-olds have been detained in the shooting of a security guard who was held at gunpoint at Lenox Square Mall on Sunday night.

The mall had just closed at 8:30 p.m. Sunday when the two youths attempted to enter near the Apple Store entrance.

Witnesses told FOX 5 that the gunmen were dressed in masks, with one brandishing a gun and the other shouting for people to raise their hands.

Soon after, the guard, described as a man in his early 40s, was shot in the torso, according to officials.

Hundreds of cops swarmed on the scene in seconds to look for the fleeing culprits.

APD Deputy Chief Timothy Peek said, “We were able to render aid from the security guard and get information from the witnesses, which ultimately led us to the direction and location where the suspects fled to.”

Police conducted a grid search that took them to the neighboring Westin Hotel, where they arrested a 15-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl.

WATCH

Both juveniles have been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery, tampering with evidence, firearm ownership by a person under the age of 18, and firearm possession during the commission of a felony. At this moment, their identities have not been revealed.

According to officials, the security guard was rushed to a neighboring hospital and is listed in critical condition.

Georgia Store Cashier Dead, Deputy Injured After Dispute With Man Over A Mask!

DECATUR, Ga. - DeKalb County Sheriff Melody Maddox said a supermarket cashier was shot over a dispute with a customer about a mask on Monday. A DeKalb County deputy in the supermarket shot at the suspect, Maddox said, and the suspect returned fire and struck the deputy.

It happened at the Big Bear Supermarket located at 2849 Candler Road in DeKalb County around 1:10 p.m. Authorities said the suspect, identified by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation as 30-year-old Victor Lee Tucker, was checking out when he got into an argument with the cashier over the mask.

"There was some confrontation, argument — I’m not sure exactly what — in reference to the wearing of masks, at which time the subject pulled out a weapon and shot the cashier," Maddox said at a news conference. Maddox said she did not know the details of the argument.

Reserve deputy shot, cashier killed in grocery store shooting

Investigators said a reserve deputy was injured and a cashier was killed at a DeKalb County grocery store after shooting over the suspect being asked to wear a face mask.

Investigators said Tucker left the store without buying anything, but came back inside, went up to the cashier, and opened fire.

"Tucker walked directly back to the cashier, pulled out a handgun and shot her," the Georgia Bureau of Investigation wrote in the news release.

Tucker then directed his fire at an off-duty Dekalb County Sheriff's Office deputy who was working a part-time security job at the store, investigators said. The deputy returned fire, investigators said, with both ended up being injured in the exchange of fire.

"That is what he's trained to do, that's part of his 30-year career in law enforcement," Maddox said. "All of us here are trained to intervene and to respond."

Tucker was taken into custody as investigators said he tried to crawl out the front door.

A supermarket cashier was allegedly shot over a dispute with a customer about a mask. A DeKalb County deputy shot at the suspect and the suspect returned fire and struck the deputy.

The cashier and Tucker were both rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital, where the cashier was pronounced dead. Tucker was listed in stable condition as of early Monday evening.

The deputy was rushed to Atlanta Medical Center and was also listed in stable condition as of Monday evening.

A second cashier was also grazed by a bullet but was treated for her injuries at the scene.

The DeKalb County Police Department said warrants will be taken out for Tucker on charges of murder. Other charges are pending. Maddox identified the deputy only as a 30-year veteran of law enforcement.

Police have not released the names of the cashiers have not been released.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was asked to investigate the deputy-involved shooting. It will be handed over to the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office for review once it is complete.

The GBI said this is the 41st shooting involving Georgia law enforcement the agency has been asked to investigate this year.

The supermarket is located near The Gallery at South DeKalb mall and is about 8 miles east-southeast of downtown Atlanta.
