#RHOA: Marlo Hampton Just Shared an Update on Her Friendship with Kenya Moore!

Bravo Digital’s Megan Segura and Erik J. Mac bring you exclusive interviews from Bravo HQ, featuring Bravolebs plus expert commentary and behind-the-scenes scoop straight from Bravo execs. New episodes are released every Saturday morning, wherever you get your podcasts.

Marlo Hampton and Kenya Moore have had their fair share of ups and downs together, but perhaps the most shocking twist in their friendship journey came in Season 13 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, when the ladies reconciled with the help of Cynthia Bailey during the trip to South Carolina. At the time, they each apologized for the way they’d treated one another over the years, and “agreed to disagree” moving forward. In the February 21 episode, Kenya noted, “I don’t know if Marlo and I can get back to the way we used to be.” So where do they stand now? Marlo shared an update on the April 24 episode of The Daily Dish podcast, which you can listen to below.

In typical fashion, the update came up in conversation during a healthy dose of shade when Marlo was joking about Kenya’s hosting skills, which she’d been poking fun at all season. “Thank god we have reunited and I’m just gonna have to just give her some skills on hosting. ‘Cause I’m like, Kenya, come on girl,” said Marlo. “We have to have a spread, darling.

From there, Marlo offered a more heartfelt update on where the ladies stand today.

“Kenya and I are great. I just really feel that with me being an Aquarius, it’s really hard to get to me 100 percent. So it’s like, with Kenya already crossing me before, betraying my trust, I’m just taking baby steps with her. So I’m taking baby steps. It feels amazing, I will say,” said Marlo. “It just feels to where if I do need something, I can call her. What are we, like five minutes away from each other? Right around the corner. I’m glad that we’re just at a positive happy place ‘cause we actually were really friends. And I was really in my feelings when she didn’t invite me to her birthday party or her housewarming party.”

Marlo also noted the similarities she and Kenya share.

“I mean, as in the family, the upbringing. We both have trust issues, we’re private,” she said. “But we bring the excitement, as well.”

#HipHopNews: Lil Yachty Says He Received Death Threats Over Tupac Shakur And The Notorious B.I.G. Comments!

Five years ago, Lil Yachty caught heat from people on the internet over some comments he made about Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. Boat recently revealed how bad the vitriol over his statements got during an interview with Apple Music 1's Zane Lowe.

The Atlanta rapper chopped it up with Lowe in support of his new album, Michigan Boy Boat, in an interview published on Friday (April 23). Yachty talked about his growth as an artist from the early days, specifically referencing a time in 2016, in which he said he couldn't name five songs by Tupac or Biggie in a Billboard interview and later called Big overrated.

"I never meant to disrespect," Yachty explained around the 10-minute mark of the interview. "I was just being honest. I didn't have any media training, right? All I knew was to be an honest person."

He continued, "I didn't say they were trash or nothing. You know, in my opinion, opinions are...come on, bro, rap is opinionated. Nowadays, it’s like opinions is so accepted now that if any other artist decided to say how they feel about whoever nobody would care anymore. I was like 19, 18, 19. I had never in my life, I had never been hated like that. People hated me after that, like, death threats. Just a lot. I think that's what really started that hate for me."

Yachty said fans turning on him in that moment taught him a lesson and helped mold him. "So many people were just automatically trying to dub me like he's whack, he's corny or whatever the case may be," he added. "But it taught me a lot. It built my character up and made me so strong and damn near put a shell around me. Like to a point, I got into so much shit I don't care about anything now. I'm thankful for it because my emotions can't hear it. They can say whatever they want to say, I don't care and I made it through it. I don't care, you know what I'm saying? And I made it through that. I made it through that and I'm still successful. And I'm still here to this day. It's five years later. I did it."

Yachty's new Michigan-themed LP, Michigan Boy Boat, features guest appearances from Tee Grizzley, Sada Baby, Swae Lee and more

LeBron James laughs off Cincinnati bar's NBA boycott demanding his expulsion from league!

An Ohio sports bar has announced it will no longer show NBA games until LeBron James is expelled from the league. James doesn't seem too worried.

The Los Angeles Lakers star responded to a story about the bar, Linnie's Pub in Delhi Township, via Twitter on Saturday, jokingly lamenting that he had plans to watch his team play at the bar that night:

Linnie's Pub reportedly announced its new policy in a Facebook post on Wednesday. The owner of the bar, Jay Linneman, spoke with the Cincinnati Enquirer, and his justification is right out of the "shut up and dribble" playbook:

"They just need to play the game and that’s it," he said. "Their opinion doesn’t really matter. They’re using their position to push their opinions, and that’s just not right."

The bar's NBA ban is likely in response to the recent controversy regarding James' now-deleted tweet in reaction to the Ma'Khia Bryant shooting in Columbus.

Hours after the deadly confrontation on Tuesday, James posted an image of the officer who shot Bryant with the caption "YOU'RE NEXT." Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin had been convicted of murdering George Floyd the same day.

The post sparked a firestorm from conservatives on social media, including Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) and Rep. Mike Loychik (R-Ohio), with the former claiming James was inciting violence against the officer. Former president Donald Trump also addressed the situation in a statement, accusing James of "RACIST rants."

James later deleted the tweet, saying it was "being used to create more hate" in another tweet.

James has been off the court for the Lakers since mid-March with a high ankle sprain. He was recently reported to have progressed to light work on the court with his rehab, and could be nearing a return.

Glenn Close Shows Off Her 'Da Butt' Dance Moves and Swears at 2021 Oscars!

Glenn Close is busting a move at the 93rd Academy Awards!

During Oscars ceremony on Sunday night, the actress, 74, impressed the audience with her knowledge of the 1998 funk hit "Da Butt" — and even demonstrated how to perform the song's iconic dance.

The impromptu dance came during a segment with DJ Questlove and comedian Lil Rel Howery, in which attendees were tested on their music trivia by being asked if hit songs were Oscar winners, Oscar nominees or snubbed for a nomination.

"Stop, stop. That's not fair to Glenn Close," Howery said, when Questlove began playing "Da Butt" for the eight-time Oscar nominee.

But Close already knew the answer, quickly interjecting, "Wait a second, that's 'Da Butt!' "

"It's 'Da Butt.' I know that," she said. "'Da Butt' was a classic song by the great Washington, D.C., go-go band, The E.U."

Surprising Howery, Glenn went on to drop more facts about the song.

WATCH HERE

"Spike Lee had it written for his brilliant movie School Daze," she said. "My friends at the Oscars missed it and it wasn't nominated, so it couldn't have won, which I think it's absolute bulls—."

"I wasn't expecting that at all — that you knew 'Da Butt,' " Howery replied. "But do you know the dance though?"

To the delight of the crowd, Close then got out from her seat and began dancing.

The Academy Awards' official Twitter later shared a GIF of the memorable moment, tweeting, "Glenn Close, everyone!"

At the ceremony, Close was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in Hillbilly Elegy. She lost the award to Minari star Youn Yuh-jung.

Previously on the red carpet, Close shared what she would do if she were to win her first-ever Oscar on Sunday night.

When asked by E!'s Giuliana Rancic whether she has thought about where she'd put the award, Close replied, "I actually haven't, but I have this fantasy — and I think I [would] actually do it — that I might take it to the local library for people to look at; I might take it to the coffee shop I go to a lot."

"So that people can actually see what it's like. [To] kind of bring this world into everyday life. That's what I will do," she added.

The 93rd Academy Awards aired live on Sunday on ABC.\

Swizz Beatz calls out fair-weather friends, fans at DMX memorial!

Thousands of fans descended on downtown Brooklyn Saturday to pay their last respects to the late DMX.

As a large crowd gathered outside the Barclays Center during the memorial, Swizz Beatz had some words for people who only showed up now after the rapper/actor’s passing.

“I just wish all these people showed up for him when he was here,” said Beatz, whose real name is Kaseem Dean, when he took the stage to speak before DMX’s family, friends and fellow artists.

“This man needed everybody. He didn’t need everybody when he’s not here; he needed everybody when he was here,” he continued. “We got to learn how to celebrate each other while we’re here.”

DMX, who’s real name was Earl Simmons, died on April 9 at age 50 after suffering a heart attack the week before. Although the arena was closed to the public, the event was live streamed online.

“I don’t want y’all to show up to my sh*t when I’m gone, unless you were showing up while I was here. I want to be sent off with the same love that I had when you were standing next to me,” said Beatz, who produced DMX’s hit song “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem.”

Beatz was joined on stage by other members of the Ruff Ryders label, including The Lox and Drag-On. While he spoke about his love for his longtime collaborator and friend, he had some choice words for all of those who weren’t there for the troubled MC during his life.

Beatz went on to say that he’s learned from the commotion surrounding DMX’s death. “The things that I’m witnessing from my brother’s passing, it was a big educational thing for me to learn. I’m glad I got to see it at this age,” he continued. “A lot of people ain’t your friends, a lot of people ain’t your family.”

In addition, Beatz warned those watching that they need to be mindful of the people around them and make provisions against those who would take advantage on them.

“I need everybody to do a will. You have to do your will. You do not want strangers, bloodsuckers handling your business when you’re not here. You want the ones that you love handling your business,” said Beatz, vowing to do right by his late friend and his loved ones.

“I’m going to make sure my brother’s straight. I’m going to make sure my brother’s family is straight, my brother’s kids [are] straight and everybody in here better do the same as well. This is not a fashion show. This not a performance. This is a real life day-to-day,” he said.

DMX and Beatz had a fruitful personal and professional history. They collaborated to make some of the Yonkers, New York rapper’s biggest hits, including “Ruff Ryder’s Anthem,” “Party Up (Up In Here)” and “Get It On The Floor.”

The event was proceeded by a massive procession. DMX’s body in a red casket that featured the Ruff Ryders’ emblem was carried on the back of a large monster truck down Flatbush Avenue towards the Barclays Center. The truck was followed by a large contingent of motorcycles and dirt bikes, a tribute to the “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem” music video that introduced both DMX and Swizz Beatz to a mass audience.

Lox member Jadakiss was among those who spoke about his former labelmate, speaking about how DMX had been enjoying his life toward the end.

“Anybody that’s seen him in his last year or two, he was the happiest he ever was in life,” he said.

Oscars Best-Dressed: The Most Memorable Red-Carpet Looks!

After a whole season of virtual awards shows, the 2021 Oscars were held in person on Sunday, April 25 — with an IRL red carpet to match.

Gone were the designer pajamas and — gasp! — hoodies spotted during the Emmys and Golden Globes in recent months; ahead of the Academy Awards, nominees and presenters were warned that athleisure wasn’t going to cut it.

“We’re aiming for a fusion of Inspirational and Aspirational, which in actual words means formal is totally cool if you want to go there, but casual is really not,” read a letter sent around by the show’s producers in March.

As a result, Sunday’s red carpet marked a return to the glitz and glamour viewers are used to seeing during awards season, with Oscar gold emerging as the night’s dominant color trends

Below, our best-dressed picks.

Regina King

The “One Night in Miami” director spread her wings in this stunning sky blue Louis Vuitton gown with butterfly-inspired shoulders. Adorned with 62,000 sequins and 3,900 Swarovski crystals, it actually set an embellishment record for the fashion house, per Vogue.

Zendaya

The “Euphoria” actress looked like a ray of sunshine in her sunny yellow Valentino gown, which she paired with a whopping $6 million worth of Bulgari jewels totaling over 183 carats.

Carey Mulligan

The “Promising Young Woman” actress made a dramatic entrance in this cutout copper Valentino Haute Couture gown covered with iridescent sequins.

Angela Bassett

Stella may have lost her groove, but the actress who played her sure never did. With its draped organza shoulders and dramatic train, Bassett’s red off-the-shoulder Alberta Ferretti frock was equal parts pretty and playful.

Colman Domingo

Raising the bar for all Hollywood men, the “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” actor delighted social media with this hot pink Atelier Versace suit embellished with 4,500 Swarovski crystals and sequins. Gold David Yurman jewelry and Christian Louboutin dress shoes completed the look.

Claudia Jordan Denies Kanye West Tried To Shoot His Shot While Married!

Claudia Jordan is clarifying comments she made about Kanye West and Kim Kardashian during a recent interview. During a chat with Domenick Nati for “The Domenick Nati Show,” he asked her if she was single and interested in Kanye West. Jordan replied that the “Fade” rapper “tried years ago” to shoot his shot with her while she was in the club and that she wasn’t interested then or now. She then said,  “I met him before. You know what, I hung out with Kim as well…and um…girl code. I couldn’t do it. Let’s just say that.”

This led to folks thinking that West tried to engage with Jordan while in a relationship with his soon-to-be ex-wife. Jordan is denying that that happened while they were happily married. Kardashian filed for divorce from West in February after seven years of marriage, TMZ reported.

“I’d really appreciate it [if] ya’ll stopped lying on me for clicks,” she wrote on her Instagram story. “I NEVER said that s***! No more interviews with unknowns trying to make a name for themselves with clickbait. For the last time, Kanye NEVER tried to get with me or flirt with me while married to Kim. FAKE NEWS!”

The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star also issued an apology to West and Kardashian.

“To Kim, Kanye and your families I’m so sorry this ever happened! I never wanted to cause any of you harm or stress. I’m furious about this whole mess and taking a break for my own sanity.”

As far as interviews go, Jordan said that she doesn’t want to speak on any other celebrities besides herself.

“If I ever do any interviews again, don’t ask me s*** about anybody else but me, my career and the projects I’m working on PERIOD.”

Zac Efron's Earth Day Appearance Creates a Frenzy for Fans Who Believe He's Had Plastic Surgery!

Zac Efron is recently single and showing off a new look. The Baywatch actor had a cameo in Earth Day! The Musical, Bill Nye's collaboration video with Justin Bieber, the D'Amelios, and more, in order to promote awareness about climate change. However, one of the main takeaways was that Efron was looking a little different, with many speculating that he had gotten plastic surgery on his face and jaw.

People on Twitter likened him to "Handsome Squidward" from Spongebob Squarepants or drew comparisons to the prosthetics that The Weeknd wore in his "Save Your Tears" music video. However, Radar Online spoke to some experts who offered some insight into what had caused his change in appearance.

"Zac looks great. He has build lots of lean muscles and his body fat is low," explained Natasha Fett, a celebrity personal trainer and physical therapist. "It seems to me that Zac is enhancing his physique and build by taking testosterone and HGH (human growth hormone). HGH in high volumes can cause the jaw and cartilage to grow. Looking at Zac's new facial features are a lot more masculine which can definitely be achieved with Testosterone and HGH. Neither of those products should be taken unless monitored by a doctor."

While some people on Twitter made jokes about Efron's appearance, a majority of them pointed out that Hollywood perpetuates unrealistic body standards and that Efron has spoken out against that pressure in the past. "I feel really bad for Zac Efron actually," tweeted one fan. "People were being so awful about his looks when his lil wilderness show was on, despite the fact that he literally looked fine. People can’t accept that he’s not going to look 21 for the rest of his life."

After getting absolutely shredded for Baywatch, Efron explained on Hot Ones that it just wasn't worth it to him. "I realized, when I was done with that movie, that I don't ever want to be in that good of shape again," Efron explained. "It was so hard. You're working with almost no wiggle room. You've got things like water under your skin that you're worrying about, making your six-pack into a four-pack, s--- like that. It's just stupid. It's just not real. I'm happy that it worked, I'm happy that it got me through it." Ultimately Efron offered this advice: "Take care of your heart, take care of your brain, you're good."

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez Reunite in L.A. Following Split!

Is it over for good between Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez?

The exes recently reunited over the weekend and it appears at least one of them wants to give their relationship another shot.

"Alex flew out to L.A. on Thursday night to see Jennifer," a source close to J.Lo told E! News on Sunday, April 25. "He doesn't want to give up on their relationship and is willing to do whatever he has to do. He spent two nights with her trying to work things out."

The source continued, "He keeps trying to show her how serious he is and how much he loves her. But she still feels that their issues can't be resolved and that they should move on. He headed back to Miami alone on Saturday morning. He doesn't want to give up, but she is adamant about moving on."

Page Six reported on Sunday that J.Lo and A-Rod had dinner together over the weekend at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles, near one of the singer's homes. The two dined at the same restaurant where they went on their first date back in 2017, the outlet said.

Neither J.Lo nor A-Rod have spoken publicly about their recent reunion. Their reps had no immediate comment.

Multiple sources said in March that the two had called off their nearly two-year engagement and split after four years together. The couple later issued a joint statement saying that "all the reports are inaccurate," adding, "We are working through some things" and A-Rod flew to the Dominican Republic to reunite with J.Lo, who was shooting a movie there.

But on April 15, Lopez and Rodriguez announced they had called off their engagement, saying in another joint statement, "We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects."

A-Rod did not appear to take the breakup well, posting on his Instagram hours before the announcement a video showing several framed photos from their relationship, including a snap of their names drawn in a heart in the sand, set to the Coldplay song "Fix You."

Jay-Z Discusses Racial Issues, Social Media, And His Legacy In Rare Sunday Times Interview!

JAY-Z gave a rare interview to The Sunday Times in which he discussed racial issues in America, the use of social media, and his own legacy.

While promoting his latest PUMA partnership, the hip-hop legend and businessman shared his thoughts on the country’s tense racial atmosphere, highlighting both the country’s success and the road ahead.

He expressed his dissatisfaction by saying, “It’s very frustrating.” He said “As a human race we’re still on basic things. We’re still on Stop Asian Hate. We can’t sit and cry over spilt milk, but we do have to acknowledge that there’s milk, right? Are we here today? No. Are we further than 50 years ago? Yes.”

He also discussed the impact of social media on the younger generation, stating that there is a kind of peer pressure for children to use “a microphone” that they have at all times. JAY-Z, who is the father of a nine-year-old and two three-year-old children with wife Beyoncé, added, “You can’t give someone a microphone for 24 hours a day and have them not think they have to use it.”

He said, “These kids, it’s unbelievable. Imagine having a microphone and you’re asked about social justice questions at 18 years old? It’s like, ‘What? I’m meant to know the answer, and if I don’t answer the correct way, if I don’t say everything right, even if my intentions are right, and I don’t say the same right thing, it’s going to be everywhere.’”

Finally, the business mogul considered what kind of legacy he wants to leave behind. Even after such a long and successful career, the TIDAL creator is still undecided about his decision. He admitted, “I have no idea.” He said, “I’m not beyond ego, right? Hopefully they speak of me with the names of Bob Marley and all the greats. But that’s not for me to say.”
