Lizzo Speaks Out After People Criticized Her For Doing A 10-Day Smoothie Detox!
Lizzo is responding to backlash after revealing that she completed a 10-day smoothie detox.
The “Truth Hurts” singer, 32, recently shared a video on TikTok showing what she did during her 10-day cleanse, which involved drinking green smoothies, taking supplements and eating various foods including nuts and cucumbers in apple cider vinegar.

Lizzo also noted in a caption that people should not try a detox without consulting an expert, posting the message, “Disclaimer: I was practicing safe detox methods (with) a nutritionist. Do not try without research.”

In a follow-up video, she shared how the detox went and said she was pleased with the results.
“This is the final day. Let me give you a full twirl. I feel amazing and I think that it’s just great to reset your stomach and reset things, especially when you deal with gastrointestinal issues like I do,” she said.

Her videos sparked some criticism in the comments, with some people questioning the effectiveness of detox regimens, and accusing Lizzo of promoting an unhealthy trend.
Lizzo responds to tweet stating she's popular because of 'obesity epidemic'
“This is the product of the toxic diet industry and self proclaimed nutrition gurus,” one person commented on her original clip.

In a follow-up TikTok video, Lizzo defended her personal choice to do the 10-day cleanse, explaining why she felt it was the right decision for her health and her body.
“I would normally be so afraid and ashamed to post things like this online because I feel like as a big girl, people just expect if you are doing something for health, you’re doing it for a dramatic weight loss, and that is not the case,” she said. “In reality, November stressed me the f--- out. I drank a lot, I ate a lot of spicy things, and things that f---ed my stomach up, and I wanted to reverse it and get back to where I was.

"I’m so proud of myself, I’m proud of my results," she added. "My sleep has improved, my hydration, my inner peace, my mental stability.”
She also reminded people to not listen to others who criticize them for what they choose to do with their bodies.

“Big girls do whatever u want with your bodies!!!” she wrote in a caption over her video. “I’m just as proud of my results from my smoothie detox as I am of my belly curves and swerves.”

Lizzo often speaks out about body positivity, and in another recent TikTok video, she was vulnerable and honest about how she sometimes deals with negative thoughts about her own body.
Lizzo shared in an emotional video her struggle to feel beautiful and like herself
"I came home and took my clothes off to take a shower and I just started having all these really negative thoughts about myself," she said in the clip.

"Like, you know, 'What's wrong with me? Maybe everything, all the mean things people say about me are true,'" she said. "And, you know, 'Why am I so disgusting?' and hating my body. And normally, I would have some positive thing to say to get me out of this but I don't and that's OK too."
In a follow-up clip, she shared how she treats herself kindly and works to embrace her body to move through these difficult moments of self-doubt.

"Woke up feeling better," she explained in the caption of a follow-up video. "Not 100% but I’m getting there. Gave the parts of me I hated last night a rub & a hug ❤️ issss a new day.

Joel Osteen's Church Dragged for Bagging $4.4 Million in Pandemic Loans!
Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church, in a move that should surprise absolutely no one, managed to bag $4.4 million in federal Paycheck Protection Program loans.
The church received the loan as part of the federal government’s pandemic stimulus package, per the Houston Chronicle's report. Specifically, the millions in PPP for Lakewood were made possible by way of the federal CARES Act, which detailed the purposes of the loans as existing to provide wages or other operational costs. In a first, the program included the allowance of direct financial assistance to places deemed "houses of worship."

Reps for Lakewood, as noted in Robert Downen's report, said early this summer they had not applied for a loan. Furthermore, the church's name was not featured on a Small Business Administration list of recipients shortly after the first round of applicants. A loan for Lakewood, however, was approved in mid-July following the reopening of the program. In July the Chronicle reported that more than a thousand groups of the religious variety in the state of Texas had been given hundreds of millions of dollars.

Naturally, the general public is not too thrilled by the idea of Joel "Miracles in Your Mouth" Osteen's church landing millions in PPP funds:
On the same day the PPP news started making the rounds, Osteen took to Twitter to share some yawn-inducing godstuff.

"God is giving you the opportunity to grow, to come up higher," Osteen, whose 2020 has included walking on water with Kanye West, said. "He's getting you prepared to handle the weight of favor, the weight of influence."

Michael Jackson Estate Wins Appeal in HBO ‘Leaving Neverland’ Suit!
An appeals court on Monday handed a victory to the estate of Michael Jackson in its battle over the 2019 HBO documentary “Leaving Neverland,” which accused the late singer of sexually abusing two young boys.

The Jackson estate sued HBO for $100 million, arguing that the documentary violated a 27-year-old non-disparagement clause from a 1992 concert film from the “Dangerous” tour. HBO has argued that the clause is irrelevant to the present dispute and accuses the Jackson estate of seeking to silence victims of sexual abuse.

Last year, a lower court granted the estate’s motion to take the dispute to arbitration, as provided by the contract. HBO appealed, but on Monday a three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeal upheld the lower court ruling. The judges conceded that the suit may be “frivolous,” as HBO has claimed, but said it will be up to an arbitrator to make that call.

“The contract contained a broad arbitration clause that covers claims that HBO disparaged Jackson in violation of ongoing confidentiality obligations,” the panel ruled. “We may only identify whether the parties agreed to arbitrate such claims; it is for the arbitrator to decide whether those claims are meritorious.”

HBO had sought to avoid arbitration, saying that the network had never intended to grant Jackson and his heirs a veto over anything the network might ever want to say about him. The network’s attorney, Theodore Boutrous, also argued that the 1992 contract had effectively expired once each side fulfilled its obligations.

The panel — Circuit Judges Richard Paez and Lawrence VanDyke and District Judge Karin Immergut — rejected that argument.
“An arbitration clause can still bind the parties, even if the parties fully performed the contract years ago,” they ruled.
The network could appeal the panel’s ruling to the full 9th Circuit, or now make its argument before an arbitrator.
Jackson’s attorneys, Howard Weitzman and Jonathan Steinsapir, issued a statement praising the ruling.

“The trial judge and now the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals have unanimously rejected HBO’s arguments,” they said. “In the court’s own words, HBO ‘agreed that it would not make any disparaging remarks concerning Jackson.’ It’s time for HBO to answer for its violation of its obligations to Michael Jackson.”

Cardi B Gifts Offset With Rare Lamborghini For His 29th Birthday!
Cardi B proved how much she loves Offset by gifting him with the key to a very rare Lamborghini for his 29th birthday.

On Monday night (December 14), Bardi covered the Migos rapper's eyes and walked him over to his new bronze Lambo Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster, which is worth a whopping $600,000. The new whip's initials stand for Super Veloce Jota and the digit serves as a reminder that only 63 of the vehicles were made by Lambo. Per TMZ, the gift was paired with a birthday celebration at what appeared to be a nightclub in the Atlanta area and the venue was reportedly packed. While there were very few attendees wearing face masks, with social distancing "non-existent," an insider close to the celebrity gossip outlet revealed that COVID-19 tests were taken and the party followed CDC guidelines set in place for ATL.

Canadian Fashion Executive Peter Nygard Arrested on Federal Sex Trafficking Charges!
Canadian fashion businessman Peter Nygard has been arrested on federal sex trafficking charges.
Federal authorities are accusing Nygard, 79, of using his company to prey on young women, who say Nygrad sexually assaulted them and groomed them to serve his friends and business partners, NBC News reports. Royal Canadian Mounted Police arrested the fashion designer in Winnipeg on Monday.
Nygard is accused of committing criminal acts between 1995 all the way up to 2020, federal prosecutors in New York say. “Mr. Nygard vehemently denies the allegations and expects to be vindicated in court,” defense lawyer Jay Prober told NBC News.

In a statement, federal prosecutors detailed Nygard’s alleged criminal activity. For the last 25 years, Nygard “used Nygard Group’s influence, as well as its employees, funds, and other resources, to recruit and maintain adult and minor-aged female victims for Nygard’s sexual gratification and the sexual gratification of his friends and business associates.”

They added that Nygard “frequently targeted women and minor-aged girls who came from disadvantaged economic backgrounds and/or who had a history of abuse.” One of Nygard’s alleged tactics was throwing “pamper parties” in the Marina del Rey neighborhood of Los Angeles and the Bahamas. NBC News reports that Nygard would use these events to lure young women in with spa services, drinks, and food.

When Nygard would find his “girlfriends,” he would continue to spend money on them with “travel, living expenses, dental work, immigration assistance, plastic surgery, abortions, child support, and medical treatments,” the indictment said. “Many victims were initially inducted, coerced and forced to have sex with Nygard through one or more of the following: false promises of modeling or fashion industry jobs; the supply of alcohol and/or drugs, including the drugging of drinks without the victim’s knowledge; and physical force.”

Nygard’s victims were also taken to “swingers” clubs in New York, Miami, Los Angeles, and Winnipeg. “While at the clubs, Nygard directed and pressured ‘girlfriends’ through manipulation, intimidation, degradation, threats, and on occasion force to engage in sex with other men to facilitate Nygard having sex with other women and for his own sexual gratification,” the indictment said. “At these clubs, Nygard frequently forced his victims to engage in group sex activity to which they had not consented.”

Nygard has received a nine-count grand jury indictment that included charges of racketeering conspiracy, conspiracy to commit sex trafficking, trafficking of minors, forced sex trafficking, and transportation of a minor for prostitution. Prober says his client will be seeking bail, claiming that he is “very susceptible to the worst consequences of Covid-19.”
