Alek Wek By Dean Isidro Delivers Us To B New York's Beauty Of Conscious Living!
Top model Alek Wek wears key pieces from b new york’s Fall 2020 collection, lensed by Dean Isidro. The name ‘b new york’ was not embedded in AOC’s brain, so off we went to investigate. It was a trip worth taking. / Hair by Dennis Lanni; makeup by Ren Nobuko, set design Shari Anlauf
The clothes are ‘affordable’ and I use the term loosely. Tops are priced at $90 to $180. A recycled wrap jacket is $180, and an oversized recycled anorak is $220. The clothes are generous cuts with plenty of drape. Everything is identified as sustainable or recycled. Bottom line, the shopping is easy.
Nice!
#RHOA #TWIRL: Kenya Moore Shares What She's Eating During Her "Weight Loss Transformation"!
The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member showed exactly what she eats for a "healthy dinner."
Back in September, Kenya Moore opened up about a common side effect of self-isolation — and she wasn't shy about it. Striking a pose in a curve-clinging coral dress, The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member wrote on Instagram: "183 lbs!!! The Quarantine has added 25lbs to my 5’10” frame." She added: "I don't mind if you don't mind." (And, nope: We don't mind at all.)
Even so, Kenya is taking a new approach to her wellness routine. She recently announced that she's embarked on a 12-week body "transformation," which includes a low-calorie diet. And in a detailed Instagram Story, the haircare mogul shared what dinner looks like for her now.
Showing off her meal, Kenya wrote: "Healthy dinner ... everything fits on a [appetizer] plate." She explained that the dish held four ounces of baked fish, collard greens, baked complex carbs, and a "pinch of macaroni and cheese" that she considered a treat. "That's my dessert," she shared.
Kenya's not the only RHOA cast member who's opened up about weight gain during the COVID-19 pandemic. Kandi Burruss has said that she put on 20 pounds over the past several months, while a weigh-in from April made Marlo Hampton write "f--- rona."

#MusicNews: Rick James’ Wild Life is Finally Being Flipped into a Biographical TV Series!
Super Freak will chart the unhinged highs and subterranean lows of a funk icon.
An upcoming limited series from Universal Studio Group will attempt to make some sense out of the impossibly controversial life of the late Rick James.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, USG has announced Super Freak, a series the studio describes as “a funkadelic mix of music biopic and true crime,” charting the funk icon’s rise through the 1960s and 1970s, before finally breaking out as a bonafide star in the 1980s. The series will also reportedly cover James’ attempt at a comeback in the early 1990s while standing trial for kidnapping and assault, as well as battling a crack addiction outside of the court system.
James’ daughter, Ty James has signed on to executive produce the treatment, which is being written and directed by Randy McKinnon. “We are truly ecstatic about this new project with UCP and extremely excited to work with the writer Randy McKinnon,” says Ty James in a statement. “We are confident he can give the fans exactly what they have been waiting on, plus some. This will be a magic carpet ride, with ups and downs, joys and pain,” she adds.
It’s unclear what James and McKinnon will use as source material for the series. The autobiography Confessions of Rick James: Memoir of a Super Freak was published in 2007, holding some wild and wholly unhinged tales from the man himself. Another biography, Glow, was released in 2015 with the assistance of editor David Ritz, who is also attached to the TV series as an executive producer. With Ritz’s involvement, it seems likely they’ll use the latter, but both are more than worth the time.
A release window has yet to be announced. Hold tight for updates in the weeks and months ahead.
#HipHopNews: Young Thug Addresses His Jay-Z Comments: 'I Was Talking Too Fast'!
Young Thug took to Instagram to address the widely discussed comments he made about Jay-Z during his appearance on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast.
"Don't have Jay-Z on me cause of this internet shit," Thug wrote on Tuesday night. "I was talking to [sic] fast but y'all know what I meant."
While chatting with with Gillie Da King and Wallo267 on Million Dollaz Worth of Game, Thug curiously asserted that Jay-Z doesn't have 30 stadium anthems but that he himself has upwards of 40. [...] anthems, we talking about songs they know... Like, when I perform, I got 30-40 songs that the whole stadium gonna know," Thug said before adding, "Jay-Z ain't got 30 songs like that... the whole stadium finna sing."
In his defense, Thug did quickly back track on the comments soon after making them when it was pointed out that the 4:44 rapper has plenty of hits.
"I'm just saying like, I know he do, he probably got 50 of them bitches," Thug said in response. "I'm not just literally saying him. I'm saying n**gas who you thinking..."
Unsurprisingly, Thug seeming to suggest he has more hits that Jay-Z didn't sit well with many people online.
#CONDOLENCES: Marc Lamont Hill’s Sister Dies Day After Burying Their Father: He Says “This Is The Cruelest Year That I’ve Ever Experienced”!
TV personality and activist Marc Lamont Hill is in deep mourning after losing both his father and sister back to back. The 42-year-old shared the news on Twitter on Wednesday (Dec. 30).
“My sister died this morning,” he wrote. “We just buried our father yesterday. This is the cruelest year that I’ve ever experienced.”
It’s unclear what caused his sister’s death, but Hill shared on social media that his father had been sick earlier in the year. Back in March, he said his father was hospitalized with no visitors allowed for weeks.
“My 92 year old father is gravely ill and has spent the last 3 weeks in the hospital. He cannot be visited because of Carona [sic]. He is alone,” he wrote. “He was just discharged to his nursing home facility that it [sic] also locked down. We just have to keep calling and praying he’s ok. This is tough.”
On December 11, he shared the news that his father passed.
“My father passed away early this morning. 92 years old,” he wrote on Twitter. “I’m grateful that I got to see his face yesterday and make him laugh one last time. Although I’ve lost a great deal of my joy, I’m trying to find comfort in the fact that he has lost all of his pain. Rest Well, Dad.”
On top of the obvious stress and sadness of living through the COVID-19 pandemic this year and dealing with his dad’s sickness and isolation, before all that occurred, Hill was already grieving.
Since sharing the news about the losses in his family, many have offered their thoughts and condolences with Hill, so much so that his name started trending on Twitter. The chances of that bringing comfort during this difficult time are little. Still, as he revealed the information with his followers and the Twittersphere, he’s likely appreciative of the messages and support.
Legendary Eastside HS Principal Joe Clark, who inspired film ‘Lean on Me,’ DIES at 82!
Joe Louis Clark, the baseball bat and bullhorn-wielding principal whose unwavering commitment to his students and uncompromising disciplinary methods inspired the 1989 film “Lean on Me,” died at his Florida home on Tuesday after a long battle with an unspecified illness, his family said. He was 82.
At crime- and drug-ridden Eastside High School in Paterson, New Jersey, Clark expelled 300 students in a single day for fighting, vandalism, abusing teachers and drug possession. That lifted the expectations of those who remained, continually challenging them to perform better. Clark’s unorthodox methods, which included roaming the hallways with a bullhorn and a baseball bat, won him both admirers and critics nationwide. President Ronald Reagan offered Clark a White House policy adviser position after his success at the high school.
Morgan Freeman starred as Clark in the 1989 film “Lean on Me” that was loosely based on Clark’s tenure at Eastside.
“Joe was a father figure to school kids,” Freeman said in a statement Wednesday. “He was the best of the best in terms of education.”
After he retired from Eastside in 1989, Clark worked for six years as the director of Essex County Detention House, a juvenile detention center in Newark. He also wrote “Laying Down the Law: Joe Clark’s Strategy for Saving Our Schools,” detailing his methods for turning around Eastside High.
Clark’s teaching career started at a Paterson grade school in Passaic County, New Jersey, before he became principal of PS 6 Grammar School.
Clark was born in Rochelle, Georgia, on May 8, 1938. His family moved north to Newark, New Jersey, when he was 6 years old. After graduating from Newark Central High School, Clark received his bachelor’s degree from William Paterson College (now William Paterson University), a master’s degree from Seton Hall University, and an honorary doctorate from the U.S. Sports Academy. Clark also served as a U.S. Army Reserve sergeant and a drill instructor.
Clark is survived by his children, Joetta, Hazel and JJ, and grandchildren, Talitha, Jorell and Hazel. His wife, Gloria, preceded him in death.
‘Creed 3’ Will Be Directed by Star Michael B. Jordan, Confirms Tessa Thompson!
In October of this year, word broke that Creed franchise star Michael B. Jordan might end up directing Creed III. Now, Jordan’s Creed co-star Tessa Thompson has confirmed just that, revealing in an interview that Jordan is indeed set to direct the eventual sequel. This would mark Jordan’s directorial debut, and would also follow precedent since Rocky star Sylvester Stallone went on to direct several Rocky sequels.
In his book A Life in Movies: Stories From 50 Years in Hollywood, Rocky and Creed producer Irwin Winkler revealed that star Michael B. Jordan could be stepping behind the camera for another Creed film. “I promised Michael B. Jordan that he’d get his chance to direct Creed III,” Winkler wrote in an excerpt that surfaced in October 2020. “Last year in a conversation with our Creed star Michael B. Jordan, I offered him the opportunity to not only star in, but also to direct Creed III.”
Now, as 2020 comes to a close, we have confirmation on that from another source close to the production: Tessa Thompson. In a video interview promoting her latest film Sylvie’s Love, Thompson was asked if Jordan would be helming Creed III, to which she replied yes while poking good-natured fun at Jordan’s recent coronation as People’s Sexiest Man Alive 2020.
And unless Jordan has a top-secret directorial project he’s going to helm first, that would make Creed III his directorial debut. And in some ways, he’s following tradition. Creed is a spin-off of the Rocky franchise, and Rocky and Creed star Sylvester Stallone ended up directing several Rocky sequels – Rocky II, Rocky III, Rocky IV, and Rocky Balboa.
Beyond Jordan becoming director and returning as star, we don’t know a whole lot about Creed III. At one point, Stallone said he wanted to bring in the son of Clubber Lang, the villain from Rocky III played by Mr. T, for Jordan’s Adonis Creed to fight. There were also reports that the Rocky franchise might start back up again separate from Creed, with Stallone’s Rocky mentoring another young fighter. But we haven’t heard much about that since 2019.
Alexander Wang Is Facing Accusations of Sexual Assault!
Designer Alexander Wang, known for his over-the-top parties during Fashion Week and dressing models such as Bella Hadid, Hailey Baldwin, and Ashley Graham, is being accused of sexual assault. Several survivors, including model Owen Mooney, shared their stories on social media, with various fashion accounts, such as DietPrada, spreading news of the allegations to their followers.
Mooney explained an incident with Wang at a New York City club. Mooney claims he was groped by Wang, and ShitModelMangement shared his account. HighSnobiety reports that Mooney's story shares parallels with several others and that other survivors have come forward with similar tales. Those anonymous reports include Wang drugging individuals with water laced with MDMA, coercing them to attend after-parties, and making unwanted sexual advances. SMM has shared a lengthy Twitter thread collecting such allegations.
In 2019, rapper Azealia Banks shared anonymous allegations against Wang on her Instagram Stories. While the posts have since disappeared, they chronicled similar experiences to those coming to light now. Twitter users screencapped the posts and they're still available to view on the platform and go back several years. Mooney's story goes back to 2017.
"This is why people are worried to share their stories of sexual predators," he captioned one of his posts after a commenter accused him of seeking attention.
DietPrada also adds that Wang enlisted now-disgraced rapper R. Kelly to model for his Spring/Summer 2017 campaign. At the time, there were multiple allegations against the musician.
Wang, via a representative for the brand, declined to comment on this developing story.

Apple Reportedly in Talks With Mariah Carey to Make 'Magical Christmas Special' Follow-Up!
Apple is reportedly in talks with singer Mariah Carey to make a 2021 follow-up to her "Magical Christmas Special," which premiered on Apple TV+ earlier this month.
According to The Sun, the festive show cost £4 million ($5.4 million) and went to number one in Apple's charts in over 100 countries, and was such a "runaway hit" that Apple executives now want to secure her for another special show next Christmas, but this time with an "unlimited" budget.
"No one could have predicted its success and it went to No1 in their charts in over 100 countries," an insider told the British paper. "Bosses at Apple now want to secure her for another special show next year. Mariah's team are, of course, completely behind it and everyone is going to do what they can to make it happen.
"They spent over £4million on this year's show but next year this could go even higher. Apple know the worth of Mariah and are willing to splash the cash to make a follow-up even bigger and better."
"Mariah Carey's Magical Christmas Special" aired on Apple TV+ just after the 25th anniversary of Carey's iconic holiday hit "All I Want for Christmas is You." The show combines music, dancing, and animation to create a "universally heartwarming story" that's supposed to bring the world together.
Carey served as an executive producer on the special along with production company Done + Dusted, best known for "The Disney Family Singalong" and "The Little Mermaid Live."

Lamar Odom Claims Ex Sabrina Parr Is Holding His Social Media Hostage!
Things are getting messy for Lamar Odom and his ex-fiancée Sabrina Parr.
Odom took to Instagram on Wednesday to accuse Parr of holding his social media accounts hostage, which Parr — also on Instagram — claims comes down to, essentially, Odom’s inability to navigate social media.
Odom, who last we heard was back together with Parr following a brief breakup, posted on Instagram that “my social media platforms are being held hostage by my ex and we are working hard to recover my passwords for IG and Twitter.”
“Sabrina stop,” he continued — presumably in reference to Parr’s rebuttals — “You have hacked my social media every few months. Your receipts are no good that’s from a year ago. I’ve recently begged you to release my password. I can only post using the phone you set up — you don’t want me to expose you. So stop. Give me my password and my passport.”
“No love lost BabyDoll but it’s over,” Odom, 41, wrote as a caption, adding, “You’ve wronged me in so many ways and I was willing to walk away quietly but I see you want a show. I gave you a global platform. Use it for your good or it will destroy you. All the best ❤️”
Meanwhile, over at Parr’s page, the 33-year-old wrote in a since-deleted Instagram Story, “I find these accusations from Lamar & whoever he’s working with extremely disappointing. We are no longer together and haven’t been for a while. I’ve [chosen] to move in silence about the situation & I suggest you do the same. We both know the truth and I can assure you no truth is being told on their end.
“Now if you excuse me, I’m going to continue moving on in peace & silence.”
Parr also posted — and then deleted — screenshots of alleged emails with Odom’s team showing conversations she had with them about attempting to reset Odom’s access to his social media accounts — though, as the former NBA star claims, they are from Jan. 2, 2020.
A separate screengrab appeared to show that two-step verification had been enabled on Odom’s account, which seems to suggest that Parr is locked out.
Parr also included an old text thread between the two, allegedly from about a month ago, where she exasperatedly tells him, “I don’t have your passwords. You can reset it! I’m trying to show you how!!!!”
If this all sounds very confusing, that’s because it is.
The on-again, off-again couple called off their engagement in November, announcing the news, unsurprisingly, on social media. One week later, they went on a trip to celebrate the one-year anniversary of getting engaged. Parr confirmed they had reconciled on Nov. 30, writing to a fan, “clearly we are back together.”
