Brad Pitt Leonardo DiCaprio and Quentin Tarantino for Esquire - Summer 2019
Esquire pulls out all the stops with its summer 2019 issue. Alexi Lubomirski photographs the magazine’s latest cover story, which features Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Quentin Tarantino. The Hollywood heavyweights discuss their project Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Tarantino explains, This film is the closest thing I’ve done to Pulp Fiction…[It’s] probably my most personal. The director continues, I think of it like my memory piece. Alfonso [CuarΓ³n] had Roma and Mexico City, 1970. I had L.A. and 1969. This is me. This is the year that formed me. I was six years old then. This is my world. And this is my love letter to L.A.
Explaining what drew him to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Pitt shares, Certainly the period is great fun. QT is the last purveyor of cool. If you land in one of his films, you know you’re in great hands. Quentin gives you these speeches, the kind that you wished you had said on the drive home, that you think of a day later. I felt the script was an evolution of Quentin’s voice. I mean, we know Quentin Tarantino as an auteur sending film in a singular, original direction.
Pitt adds, But I found this an evolution— and an amalgamation of what we loved about the eight films… And doing this with Leo was really cool and a rare opportunity. And then there was just the whole thing, where we all grew up with the lore of the lead actor and his stuntman. That relationship and craft. I mean, there are epic stories of these duos: Burt Reynolds had Hal Needham. Steve McQueen had Bud Ekins. Kurt Russell had his guy. Harrison Ford had his. These guys were partners for decades. And it’s something that is not the same in our generation, as the pieces became more movable. Read more at Esquire.com.

#RHOA: Eva Marcille and her Adorable Baby Bump Looks so Cute in a royal blue Dress
As a mother of two (soon to be three!), Eva Marcille is no stranger to dressing a baby bump. Now that she is expecting her third child, her second with husband Michael Sterling, it appears that bold hues seem to be calling the model's attention. Recently, we saw The Real Housewives of Atlanta stunner dazzle in a multicolored jumpsuit, and this past weekend Eva got all dressed up in another vivid attire.

On Sunday, Eva attended a gala with fellow mom Porsha Williams and pal Tanya Sam. The event was hosted by Kate's Club, a non-profit children's organization for which Tanya serves on the Board of Directors committee. Eva looked regal in an asymmetrical royal blue dress with a long. flowing cape. The curve-hugging dress also gave us a full view of her adorable baby bump.
Porsha, who gave birth to daughter Pilar Jhena McKinley in March, also stunned in a yellow dress, while Tanya sported a white deep-v dress with a fabulous Chanel belt.

#Empire #Star: Lee Daniels Says ‘Star’ Cast And Crew Are “Heartbroken” Over Cancellation
Lee Daniels has addressed the cancellation of Fox music drama Star.
Daniels and Tom Donaghy co-created the series about three talented singers trying to navigate life’s challenges along with the cutthroat music business.
As previously reported, Fox announced on May 10 that it was ending the series after three seasons.

Earlier this week, Daniels took to Instagram to share a message with the show’s loyal viewers.
“To our die hard Star fans, please know this was not of my doing. Our cast and crew are heartbroken,” he wrote using a broken heart emoji.

Daniels included a behind-the-scenes blooper reel in his post, that showed the cast, crew and guest stars having fun on set.
The series debuted in 2016 with Empire as its lead-in. Fox Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier has called the decision to cancel Star a “tough choice,” and said it was tied to the fact that the network wanted to prioritize Empire as it moves into its sixth and final season.

“We looked at our priorities and were trying to prioritize giving Empire the send-off it deserves,” Collier said on a call with reporters. “The move [of Empire] to 9pm, made it a challenge because Star was always the lead-out from Empire and obviously we don’t have the 10 p.m. hour, so it was another tough choice in a year where we were prioritizing Empire and obviously some of the other shows that we’ve put on the schedule.”

Star featured Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny, Brittany O’Grady, Queen Latifah, Amiyah Scott, Brandy Norwood and Quincy Brown in the main cast. Lance Gross and Benjamin Bratt also had roles on the show. Star is being shopped around in hopes of finding a new home.

#HipHopNews: YG Unveils "4REAL 4REAL" Cover Art
YG’s 4REAL 4REAL album is finally scheduled to drop this Friday (May 24). Ahead of its release, the West Coast rhymer has shared the cover art for his oft-delayed LP.
The project’s artwork features the message “In loving memory of Nipsey Hussle.” YG originally postponed his album’s surprise release, which was supposed to happen in April, due to Nipsey’s death.
An additional delay occurred earlier this month when YG’s LP didn’t drop on May 3, which was announced as the new release date during his performance at the 2019 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

Check out YG’s 4REAL 4REAL cover art below.
4REAL 4REAL was originally supposed to be released as a surprise in April, but YG pushed the album back following the death of Nipsey Hussle.
He then settled on a May 3 release date, which came and went with no LP. Instead, YG dropped a single titled “Go Loko” and provided no update on the album’s status.

Barring any additional delays, YG’s fourth studio album will finally arrive on May 24.

'The Voice': Maelyn Jarmon wins Season 16!
John Legend just became a V-EGOT winner. Maelyn Jarmon was named the Season 16 champ of "The Voice" during Tuesday's finale, handing Legend a win in his first season as a coach.
"This journey with John has been incredible, it’s been a dream," Jarmon said. "This has gone above and beyond my expectations. … I owe it to everyone who voted and streamed my songs."
The feeling is mutual. "Maelyn makes me feel at peace. … Everything’s right when I get to listen to her voice," Legend said. "I’m just so grateful I got to work with you this time."

Last night on 'The Voice':The Top 4 lay it all on the line during finale performances
Jarmon, 26, who is deaf in one ear, earned a four-chair turn during the Blind Auditions after wowing all the judges. She was the first member to join Team Legend and ultimately handed him the trophy that will join the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony awards on his mantel.

The Texas native beat overwhelming odds: She was the sole singer standing in the way of Blake Shelton, who had a 75% chance at the title with three of his singers in the finale.
When the votes were tallied, Gyth Rigdon finished in second place; Dexter Roberts came in third; Andrew Sevener in fourth.
The two-hour season finale felt like a concert, with more than a dozen guest performances and post-competition duets with the Top 4 and their musical heroes.
Sevener opened the festivities, singing "T-R-O-U-B-L-E" with Travis Tritt, just days after the country star's tour bus was involved in fatal crash in South Carolina that left two people dead and another injured.

Jarmon and Sarah McLachlan offered a stunning duet of "Angel." Roberts and Toby Keith brought the heat with "That's Country Bro," while Rigdon and Hootie & The Blowfish tackled "Hold My Hand." The finalists may have been singing with their idols, but they held their own with the professionals and looked right at home onstage.
Some fan-favorite contestants who were eliminated throughout the season got another chance in "The Voice" limelight.

Mari Jones and Kim Cherry lit up the audience with a soulful rendition of Lizzo’s "Good as Hell," before LB Crew, Shawn Sounds, Jej Vinson, Kalvin Jarvis and Domenic Haynes tore into Bobby Brown’s "My Prerogative," channeling a boy band in their colorful suits and in sync (no pun intended) choreography.

Betsy Ade, Celia Babini, Lisa Ramey and Presley Tennant gave the boys a run for their money with their own rocker girl group. They performed a fiery rendition of Stevie Nicks’ "Edge of Seventeen."
The Jonas Brothers performed their new single "Cool." Khalid, who served as an adviser for Legend during the Cross Battle round, returned with his smooth "Talk." Taylor Swift brought her massive butterfly wings during a performance of "Me!" with Panic! at the Disco's Brendon Urie, while the K-pop group BTS broke the internet (literally) with their single "Boy With Luv."

"BTS stole all their dance moves from me," Shelton quipped.
Other guest performances included OneRepublic ("Rescue Me"), Hootie & The Blowfish ("Let Her Cry") and Halsey, who debuted her new single "Nightmare."

Although Rigdon, Roberts and Sevener didn't walk away with the title, they did get a pricey consolation. Each will be able to drive home in his own new Toyota RAV4.

The Stars pull the Genie out the Bottle for The Hollywood ‘Aladdin’ Premiere!
It's looking like "a whole new world" on Hollywood Blvd. The biggest and brightest stars flocked to the Los Angeles premiere of Disney's Aladdin on Tuesday evening. Held at the famous El Capitan Theatre, celebrities lit up the "purple magic carpet," as Disney cleverly dubbed it, with dazzling ensembles and beauty looks.
Notably, Naomi Scott (Jasmine), Mena Massoud (Aladdin) and Will Smith (Genie) all showed up and showed out in over-the-top 'fits that we wish made it into the film. The 26-year-old British star looked like a modern-day princess in a billowing pastel pink ball gown, while the 27-year-old actor opted for something more flashy with his multi-colored Givenchy suit and button-down.

Of course, Smith turned his special night into a family affair as Jada Pinkett Smith, Jaden Smith, Willow Smith and Trey Smith all stepped out. Dressing as loud as his Disney character, the 50-year-old star donned an embroidered suit while his wife rocked a striking blue ensemble.
Other notable attendees at the premiere included Nasim Pedrad (who plays Dalia in the movie) and many more.

Artists Slam Chris Brown For ‘Copying’ Their Work In New Music Video
Uh Oh! Chris Brown has come under fire for the music video for his latest single, ‘Wobbled Up’ with G-Easy and Nicki Minaj, as two artists claim it rips directly from their work without compensation or credit.

The video, co-directed by Brown and frequent collaborator Arrad, is a surreal, hyper-sexualised journey through a tropical world. And, according to artist Marius Sperlich, it directly rips off two of his works shared online last October and August, which transform nipples into washing machine dials and bums into Island beaches. It, uh, makes more sense when you look at it.

Perlich says that he “won’t stay silent” on the issue, as issues of intellectual property are constant on the internet, and often bigger artists/brands profit off ideas and concepts lifted from ‘young, emerging artists’ who can’t afford to sue. In addition to his own work, Perlich notes similarities to the video’s bright, hyper-sexualised surreal world to the work of artists Tony Futura and Vanessa McKeown.
Futura also posted about the video, clarifying that he was not approached or credited either. He asks followers to proliferate the message as “credit saves creativity”; a few hours later, prolific account Diet Prada — who, with 1.3 million followers, has become a high-fashion watchdog worthy of a lengthy NYT profile — picked it up.

On their Instagram stories, Diet Prada catalogued more similarities to artists’ works across the music video. In addition to Perlich, Futura and McKeon, the account saw similarities to work by Catherine Losing, Jamie Calderon and designer Paul Fuentes.
As the story has gained traction, Purlich has provided two updates. He reminds people that it’s likely the artists involved weren’t across the art direction, and that critics should “stay friendly please”, and then that he has contacted the video’s production company directly.

Brown’s team has, as of publication, not publicly commented on the allegations.

The 'Save Chick-fil-A' bill reignites LGBTQ opposition in Texas
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has signaled he will sign legislation that Republicans say is a defense of Chick-fil-A and religious freedom, but gay lawmakers sometimes tearfully railed against it on the House floor as a license to discriminate.
The bill, given final approval Tuesday in the Texas House, was fast-tracked in the GOP-controlled Legislature in response to the San Antonio City Council stopping Chick-fil-A from opening a location in the airport of the nation's seventh-largest city.

Some council members said they were taking a stand over the fast-food company's values: Chick-fil-A's owners have donated to anti-LGBTQ causes, and councilmember Roberto Trevino said in March that the city does "not have room in our public facilities for a business with a legacy of anti-LGBTQ behavior."
But 80 miles north in the Texas Capitol, Republicans swiftly responded with a bill that would prohibit cities from taking "adverse action" against an individual based on contributions to religious organizations. Opponents slammed the measure, which is likely to reach Abbott's desk before the legislative session ends Monday, as duplicating existing religious freedom protection and said it would only stoke discrimination against the LGBTQ community.

The bill reignited battles over divisive social issues that Texas Republicans have largely sought to avoid after an unusually rough election year for them in 2018. Two years ago, the Legislature was upended by a "bathroom bill" targeting transgender people, and LGBTQ lawmakers said during emotional floor speeches Monday that they've had enough.

"I'm tired of this," Democratic state Rep. Celia Israel, who spoke at length about the impact of such measures on LGBTQ youth. "It's been cloaked in religious freedom but the genesis and the nexus of this bill is in hatred."
Republicans pushed back, saying the bill contained no discriminatory language. Abbott teased in a tweet that he would sign the legislation.

"Should any city council be able to refuse me as a vendor in their city simply because I make donations to my church, which holds a biblical view of marriage?" Republican state Rep. Matt Schaefer said.
When another lawmaker said the First Amendment would already protect him, Schaefer shot back: "That's not what happened to Chick-fil-A."

In March, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said he would investigate the San Antonio's decision to deny Chick-fil-A a location. But in a late change, the bill now advancing to Abbott stripped a provision that would have allowed the attorney general to file lawsuits enforcing the law.

The Ellen DeGeneres’ Talk Show Has Been Renewed For Three More Years
On Tuesday, Ellen DeGeneres revealed big news to her studio audience, announcing the three-year extension of her hit talk show, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
“I’m excited to announce that I’ll be doing my show for three more years,” DeGeneres revealed. “Mostly because I love doing it so much every day, but also because that takes me to the end of my car lease.”

Currently in its 16th season, the host’s namesake talkshow will now run through 2022, after having previously been renewed through the 2019-20 television season, USA Today reports.
“From the beginning, I said that this show was going to be like a relationship,” DeGeneres added of the news, during the taping of Wednesday’s episode. “We have been through the good, the bad, the ’50 Shades of Grey,’ phase. It’s been a lot of fun and 16 years is a pretty good run. Sometimes, in a relationship, you need to take a break – but don’t. You’re stuck with me because I just signed for three more years.”

“I really had no idea what this show was going to be when we started. I had gone through a tough time. I lost my career for a little while,” she continued, referring to her groundbreaking coming out moment in ’97 and the subsequent downfall after the series ended the following year. “This show was my second chance, and it turns out it also helped other people go through a tough time.”
DeGeneres’ “Ellen” has earned her 63 Daytime Emmys since its 2003 premiere, 11 of which were for an outstanding entertainment talk show.

Season 17 is set to premiere on September 9th.

The Queen Bee Lil Kim Unveils ‘9’ Album Cover
Fans of Lil Kim were upset when the Queen Bee revealed weeks ago that her long and highly anticipated new album ‘9‘ which was set to arrive on May 17, was unexpectedly pushed back.
There was no word on a new release date but now, fans were given a glimmer of hope as the rapper’s team took to social media on Wednesday (May 22) to tease the official album cover–and we are over the moon here for it.

The unveiling came last night via a birthday celebration for The Notorious B.I.G. that Kim hosted.
Not only that, Kim officially reunited with former friend and partner in crime, Lil Cease at the event. As widely known, the two fell out several years ago when Kim did her infamous prison sentence for a year.

It was teased weeks ago as well that Kim and Cease would be teaming up for an upcoming concert and other projects in honor of their mentor. Well last night it was all love as the two reunited and posed it up for snaps.

Cardi B wants to create a "Bocktails with Cardi B" TV show and booze.
Cardi B might be making a play for television, and she's doing it through "bocktails." The rapper has filed legal documents trademarking the phrase "Bocktails with Cardi B," TMZ has reported. Cardi B is planning to use the phrase for "ongoing episodes for distribution via television and the Internet featuring celebrities and artists," according to the registration, which was filed on Friday.

There's not a lot of information yet about what the show might entail, but we can only hope that it involves Cardi B cracking open a cold one with celebrities. Move over, James Corden, because that would be one late night show actually worth staying up until 12:35 a.m. for.
The timing on all of this isn't clear either, but it looks like Cardi B hopes to extend the Bocktail Empire beyond television. The current trademark filing also extends to merch including caps, footwear, and skirts; and "alcoholic beverages, except beer and beverages containing beer." The latter constraint may have to do with the fact that, as far back as 2011, "bocktail" has been used by some in the cocktail community to refer to cocktails made with beer.

That said, a trademark filing from late February appears to have been filed by the same company that filed for "Bocktails with Cardi B": Washpoppin, Inc. That one's for the use of "bocktails" in the broader category of "alcoholic beverages." In any case, we'll sip whatever she's pouring.

Jay Z Allegedly Being Sued By Former Roc Nation Boxer Daniel Franco Over Serious Brain Injuries Avatar
Jay z and Roc Nation may be headed to court soon as a former boxer is allegedly suing them following serious injuries!
Boxer Daniel Franco is calling our Jay Z and Roc Nation after he claims he signed a sports deal with them and suffered a major brain injury.
TMZ reports that Franco believes that Jay and Roc Nation should be held responsible for his injuries while in the ring.

Back in March of 2017, Franco says that he couldn’t train for three weeks leading up to a fight he had due to the flu. He claims that Roc Nation made him fight despite recovering from the flu and not being able to practice.
Once in the ring, Franco says that although he lost the fight in the third round, Roc Nation booked him for another fight 50 days later and another a month later.

In court documents, Franco says that he believed he suffered two fractures in his skull and a brain bleed before the last fight. He also says that doctors diagnosed him with a brain hemorrhage before he went into a coma.
Franco claims that due to his injuries he is forced to wear a helmet to protect his brain after doctors had to remove a piece of his skull.

As of now, there has been no word from Roc Nation or Jay!
