Pharrell Williams demands Trump stop playing his song 'Happy' during rallies
On Saturday, after 11 people were murdered inside the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, President Trump still went on with his scheduled rally in Indiana, where his team played the Pharrell Williams song "Happy," much to the artist's dismay.

Williams is both the composer and performer of "Happy," and owns the rights to the song. On Monday, his attorney, Howard King, sent a cease and desist letter to Trump, telling him that his client "has not, and will not, grant you permission to publicly perform or otherwise broadcast or disseminate any of his music." He called Trump out for playing the song on the day of a mass murder, saying there was "nothing 'happy' about the tragedy inflicted upon our country on Saturday and no p

BeyoncΓ© Settling Feyonce Clothing Lawsuit
A judge has granted BeyoncΓ©‘s request to cancel her Nov. 1 hearing with clothing brand Feyonce as they are in settlement negotiations, per court documents obtained by Page Six.
According to reports, BeyoncΓ© sued Feyonce Inc. in 2016, claiming that the company’s merchandise was ripping off her hit, “Single Ladies.” She previously asked the judge to shut down the company, but her request was denied.

In response, the company claimed that BeyoncΓ© was using her fame to bully them. They also alleged that she had no proof that they infringed on their copyrights or that she was damaged because of their products.

They will let the court know if they’ve settled the case by Nov. 15.

Ava DuVernay Is Making a Documentary About Prince
Ava DuVernay, director of the civil-rights drama Selma, the film adaptation of the fantasy novel A Wrinkle in Time, and the television series Queen Sugar, is working with Netflix on a documentary about Prince. It will follow the musician’s life and prolific career, up to his death in April 2016. The news comes just a month after the release of the artist’s first posthumous album, Piano and a Microphone 1983.

Since Prince’s estate handpicked DuVernay for this project, she will have full access to his vast archive and unreleased material. According to Deadline, the musician himself had contacted the director about a collaboration before his passing. “Prince was a genius and a joy and a jolt to the senses,” she DuVernay said in a statement, adding, “He shattered every preconceived notion, smashed every boundary, shared everything in his heart through his music. The only way I know how to make this film is with love. And with great care. I’m honored to do so and grateful for the opportunity entrusted to me by the estate.”

Following the success of 13th, which looks at the way racial injustice continues to be perpetuated in the prison system, this will be DuVernay’s second time partnering with the streaming service on a documentary. And while there is no release date yet, the filmmaker has been working alongside editor Spencer Averick, who also edited 13th, for several months. She has also been busy with the Central Park Five miniseries which will air on Netflix in 2019

#OHSNAP! Tyler Perry Plans to Kill Off Madea Character in 2019
Mabel Earlene “Madea” Simmons will die next year, according to Tyler Perry who plans to kill off the feisty grandmama character who helped make him famous in plays and movies.

Tyler announced his plan to kill off Madea during an interview on Sirius XM radio.

He said he filmed Madea’s funeral 2 years ago, and he’s finally able to let her go.
The actor, director and playwright said he will hold Madea’s funeral next year to allow her fans time to mourn her passing. He didn’t say how he plans to end Madea’s life.

Madea is a lawless senior citizen with unhealthy eating and lifestyle habits. She had a lengthy criminal record dating back to age 9 that included charges for assault with a deadly weapon, attempted murder and vehicle theft.

Plus, Tyler said he didn’t want to grow older than his famous character, who is 87.
“I just don’t want to be her age playing her,” said Tyler, who at 49 is still a relatively young man.
It will be 20 years since Tyler donned a dress, wig, padding, and makeup to play his signature character on stage.

The final film franchise, featuring Madea’s funeral, will open in theaters in 2019.

Sarah Jessica Parker Sets the Record Straight on Kim Cattrall Feud Rumors
Sarah Jessica Parker wants to set the record straight…she’s not in a fight with Kim Cattrall.
“If one more person calls this a catfight… I’m not in a fight,” Sarah Jessica told Extra.

She continued, “I never fought with Kim. I don’t have to send any gifts to Kim, because I’ve never done anything. She has felt perfectly comfortable to say lots of things. That’s the beauty of living in a democracy, but I have no apologies, meaning, this isn’t a catfight.”

When Sarah Jessica said “she has felt perfectly comfortable to say lots of things,” she maybe was referring to Kim telling SJP she felt exploited by her, or that she felt she had a “toxic” relationship with her Sex and the City co-stars.

Sarah Jessica continued, “This is someone who chose to talk about something and myself, I remain grateful for her work and the role she played on and off camera for all the years we spent together.”

#RHONJ’s Teresa Giudice Blames ‘Fame’ for Husband Joe Giudice’s Deportation and Reveals How He’s Dealing With It,
For Teresa Giudice, the only thing worse than finding out her husband Joe Giudice is headed for a deportation has been her children’s reaction to the news.

During a new interview, the Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member blamed fame for Joe’s deportation ruling, and shared how he is coping with the news. Teresa also revealed the heartbreaking reactions her three oldest daughters, Gia, 17, Gabriella, 14, and Milania, 12, had after learning their dad would be sent back to Italy once he’s released from prison next March.

“My brother called Gia because he heard it on the news. So that’s how my oldest found out and I was really upset. I told Gabriella and Milania together, Gabrielle teared up. Milania was hysterical. Like she was like a mess,” Teresa revealed to Entertainment Tonight.
As for nine-year-old Audriana, Teresa and Joe’s youngest daughter, she’s the only one who doesn’t know about Joe’s impending deportation.

“[She’s] the only one that I didn’t tell. Joe has been gone since she’s six. And it’s sad, she needs her daddy home,” she said.
Although the coming months will surely be difficult for Teresa and her kids, they are doing their best to stay positive as they prepare to appeal the judge’s ruling.

As for how Joe has been coping with the news, Teresa said it’s “killing him inside.” She added, “He feels just guilty about everything.”
When asked if Joe cried, she responded: “No, it takes both of us a lot to cry.”

According to Teresa, she believes that while the judge made his decision based upon the laws of the United States, her family likely wouldn’t be going through such heartache if it weren’t for her role on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Still, she has no plans to abandon her reality career.
“I don’t think my family would be going through this if I wasn’t in the spotlight,” she said. “I’m focusing 110 percent focused on her daughters and the show is my job.”

“We’re going to be a family, and we’re going to fight this and get through this. We are not even thinking about [whether we’d move to Italy] right now. We’re going to take it day by day. We’re going to take it one step at a time. First, we’re going to process the paperwork to do an appeal, and we’re going to get through that,” Teresa added.

James ‘Whitey’ Bulger, Boston Mob Kingpin, Killed In Federal Prison
For years, James “Whitey” Bulger was the second-most-wanted man in America. When Osama bin Laden was killed in 2011, Bulger rose to the top of the FBI’s fugitive list. Soon after that, he was arrested in California, along with his longtime girlfriend, Catherine Greig.
James “Whitey” Bulger — who ruled Boston’s criminal underworld for a quarter-century, stayed on the run for 16 years and then spent the last years of his life in a high-security federal prison — has died, the Department of Justice confirmed Tuesday. He was 89.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons had transferred Bulger from a Florida prison to a high-security penitentiary in West Virginia after a brief stop at a transfer site in Oklahoma City. He was listed as an inmate at USP Hazelton as of Tuesday morning, according to The Boston Globe. Within hours, reports emerged that he had been found dead; CNN and the Globe reported that he had been killed.

Authorities found Bulger unresponsive at approximately 8:20 a.m. and undertook measures to revive him, the BOP said in a statement. The medical examiner in Preston County, where USP Hazelton is located, subsequently pronounced the former mob boss dead. No staff or other inmates were found to be injured, the BOP said. The FBI has initiated an investigation.

For more than two decades, Bulger was one of the nation’s most notorious gangsters, the leader of Boston’s violent Winter Hill Gang. He killed or arranged the murder of nearly 20 people between 1973 and 1985, according to federal authorities.

He was in his mid-60s when he went on the lam after a corrupt FBI agent alerted him he was about to be arrested. Despite being added to the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list, he survived 16 years on the run before he was caught in 2011. Authorities said they found fake IDs, a cache of weapons and $800,000 in cash inside an apartment he shared with longtime companion Catherine Greig, then 60.

Bulger, the son of an impoverished Irish immigrant, grew up in South Boston. As a youth, he was reportedly drawn to the streets and, by the time he was a teenager, had racked up multiple arrests for a number of crimes. It was local police who nicknamed Bulger “Whitey” — a moniker he was said to despise — because of his light blond hair.

Even in prison, Bulger didn’t fade from the media spotlight. His life and misdeeds were chronicled in the book “Black Mass,” which was adapted into a 2015 film starring Johnny Depp as the mobster. That year, Bulger made headlines after it was learned he had written a letter to three teens in Massachusetts who had contacted him for a high school project.
Various weapons seized from Bulger’s apartment in Santa Monica, California, in July 2011. Two years later, he was convicted on multiple of charges, including complicity in 11 killings.
Bulger reportedly told the teens his “life was wasted and spent foolishly” and that he had brought “shame and suffering” on his family, including his younger brother William M. Bulger, who was the longest-serving president of the Massachusetts state Senate. The younger Bulger, according to The New York Times, was forced to resign as the president of the University of Massachusetts after refusing to testify at a congressional hearing about his brother’s activities.

The Boston Globe, which obtained a copy of James Bulger’s letter, contacted Patricia Donahue, whose husband was shot and killed by Bulger in 1982. She told the outlet she didn’t feel the gangster had “changed at all.”

“All he cares about is his family, which is probably one of the only normal things about him,” she said. “He doesn’t care about anybody else. I’m sure he doesn’t have any remorse about anyone he’s hurt or killed. He is a wasted life.”

Donald Trump Vows To End To Birthright Citizenship
President Donald Trump said he’s considering an executive order to remove the right to citizenship for babies born in the U.S. to parents who aren’t citizens ― a right enshrined in the 14th Amendment that could likely be changed only through a constitutional amendment.

Trump said in an interview with “Axios on HBO” taped Monday that he could execute the change via executive order.
“It was always told to me that you needed a constitutional amendment. Guess what? You don’t,” Trump said. “You can definitely do it with an act of Congress. But now they’re saying I can do it just with an executive order.”
He said the right awarded to babies born as birthright Americans is “ridiculous” and that the system “has to end.”
Trump also falsely stated that the U.S. is “the only country in the world” that offers citizenship to those born here. More than 30 nations, including Canada and Mexico, have similar policies.

It’s not clear what the executive order would look like or when it would be proposed ― if Trump follows through at all, considering his tendency for pre-election bluster and warnings he has received from fellow Republicans, including House Speaker Paul Ryan (Wis.), who have said doing so would be outside the bounds the president’s authority.

All babies born in the U.S. are American citizens under the Constitution’s 14th Amendment, which cannot be changed by presidential order.

Changing that policy would dramatically reshape the U.S. ― effectively punishing the children of undocumented immigrants, whom Trump has vowed to remove from the country. Even if he doesn’t follow through or succeed, though, Trump’s vow to try aligns with other messaging and actions attacking undocumented immigrants ahead of the midterm elections next Tuesday.
An executive order challenging birthright citizenship would ensure a legal battle, in which most experts think the president would fail. The Supreme Court ruled in 1898′s U.S. v. Wong Kim Ark that a child born in the U.S. to immigrant parents was a citizen under the 14th Amendment.

“The president cannot erase the Constitution with an executive order, and the 14th Amendment’s citizenship guarantee is clear,” said Omar Jadwat, director of the ACLU’s Immigrants’ Rights Project. “This is a transparent and blatantly unconstitutional attempt to sow division and fan the flames of anti-immigrant hatred in the days ahead of the midterms.”

Some Republicans ― including Ryan ― quickly shot down Trump’s idea. “You cannot end birthright citizenship with an executive order,” the House speaker said Tuesday on WVLK Radio, according to Bloomberg News reporter Erik Wasson.
Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R-Fla.) criticized the president’s statement, calling instead for immigration reform “that makes our country more secure and reaffirms our wonderful tradition as a nation of immigrants.”

Another Republican, Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan, also tweeted that such an executive order would not be possible.
The are some experts who disagree. Axios cited John Eastman, a constitutional scholar who is director of Chapman University’s Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence, who said the amendment has been misapplied and was not intended to apply to every person born in the U.S. regardless of parentage.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) announced Tuesday that he would introduce legislation “along the same lines as the proposed executive order from President Trump” to end birthright citizenship, a policy change he has supported for years. It’s unclear what his legislation would look like ― and he has previously suggested such a change would require a constitutional amendment.
“This policy is a magnet for illegal immigration, out of the mainstream of the developed world, and needs to come to an end,” Graham said in a statement on Tuesday.

Trump has long supported ending birthright citizenship, recommending in 2015 on the campaign trail that the country “start a process” to scrap it.

“I don’t think they have American citizenship and if you speak to some very, very good lawyers — and I know some will disagree — but many of them agree with me and you’re going to find they do not have American citizenship. Our country is going to hell,” Trump said then in an interview with CNN.

The president has lasered in on immigration ahead of next week’s midterm elections, stoking fear about the caravan of migrants heading toward the U.S.-Mexico border from Central America. He has falsely claimed the caravan is stocked with criminals, gang members and Middle Eastern terrorists, and has threatened to cut off aid to Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, the countries where most of the migrants hail from.

He deployed 5,200 active-duty troops to the border on Monday in what officials of his administration described as a necessary national security measure.
