The Daily Buzz For June 30

Hailey Baldwin and Miss Piggy cover Love
It's an age-old, classic combo: Instamodel and iconic Muppet. Hailey Baldwin and Miss Piggy share a new cover of Love, on newsstands beginning July 24. It was shot by Alasdair McLellan and styled by Katie Grand, with hair by Anthony Turner and makeup by Francelle Daly. In the outdoor shoot, Miss Piggy wears a custom Miu Miu hat, while Baldwin appears in ample black tulle (a corset and bolero by Roland van der Kemp) and a Miu Miu hat of her own. The cover design features plenty of pink, which feels apt.

#RHoA: Kenya Moore: ‘My New Husband Didn’t Sign Up for ‘RHOA’
*When Kenya Moore first announced that she tied the knot earlier this month, Hollywoodland began to whisper that she convinced her mystery man (at that time) to marry her because it would be quite lucrative for them both.

Fast forward a few weeks later and “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” entrepreneur is STILL dropping crumbs to publications, namely PEOPLE, about her new hubby, businessman Marc Daly.

Kenya explained why she initially kept Marc’s identity a secret during a recent interview with PEOPLE.

“He didn’t sign up for this world, I did,” she said. “Every time someone has been associated with me, they attack that person – immediately going after them, trying to bring them down and saying crazy things. They tear people apart. And so for [Marc], he was like, ‘This is about me and you — it’s not about me or you.’ He just wanted it to be about our pure love and not about him.”

So why weren’t her nuptials filmed for the BRAVO cameras?

Well, to profit even more from this supposed “private” moment in her life, Moore publicly talked (again) about keeping her wedding “private.” She explained, “He didn’t sign up for this world, I did. Every time someone has been associated with me, they attack that person – immediately going after them, trying to bring them down and saying crazy things. They tear people apart. And so for [Marc], he was like, ‘This is about me and you — it’s not about me or you.’ He just wanted it to be about our pure love and not about him.” But apparently all of these wedding-related interviews are “about the pure love.” For him, it’s about being my protector and my best friend — not being someone that stands next to me, but someone who supports me and is okay with being behind me sometimes. He doesn’t want my money, he doesn’t want my fame, he doesn’t want my success — he just wants my heart, and he has it.”

Moore added “I’ve never been that girl and I will never be that girl. Which is why, if it’s not what I feel in my heart and my soul, I will not do it. I will not do it for cameras, I will not do it for somebody else to feel good about who I am. I have to do it for myself.” And the multiple People interviews.

Kenya also discussed the possibility of her new husband appearing on ‘RHOA’: “I think we have to make that decision together if the opportunity comes. We just got married — we haven’t even talked about that stuff before. I’m sure we will make the right decision. But right now, I’m enjoying being a bride and a newlywed.”

#NEWMUSIC from John Legend – Surefire (Remix)
As he gets ready to close out his “Darkness and Light Tour,” John Legend debuts a remix pack for his current single “Surefire.”
The first new version is a stripped down piano based remix, which removes the guitar and drums of the original. John’s style always fits well over simple keys, and he shines here as expected.

The second remix is by acclaimed Swedish composer Ludwig Goransson (Chance the Rapper, Childish Gambino), which is also piano based but adds some additional sounds and vocal coos.

Last month, John Legend released the cinematic short-film style music video for “Surefire.” The endearing visuals showcase the power of love and unity with a socio-political theme as two young lovers, from different backgrounds, are torn apart and must travel out of their comfort zone to reunite.

#HIPHOPNEWS: Migos Readies ‘Culture II’ for October
Migos is still doing it for the Culture. Earlier this month, the group announced that Culture II was on the way. Now, Offset reveals that the project will arrive this fall.
Speaking to The Hollywood Fix while out in Beverly Hills with his rumored girlfriend Cardi B, Offset unveiled the news. “Culture II coming out in October,” he said. “Ya dig?”

Prior to the announcement, Offset also spoke on his alleged altercation with Chris Brown at the BET Awards, chalking it up to “a whole lot of paper and a whole lot of haters.”
When pressed for comment on the feud, Offset clarified his stance. “Ain’t no beef,” he said. “They don’t want no smoke.”

Culture II will be the group’s third album and the follow-up to January’s Culture, which earned them their first No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Up next, the group is closing out their run on Future’s “Nobody Safe Tour,” which ends June 30 in Las Vegas.

#SHOCK: Adele Says She May Never Tour Again!
Hello, goodbye? Adele announced on Wednesday, June 28, that she may never tour again. Fans of the British powerhouse were clued into her possible plans when she reportedly displayed a handwritten letter on a big screen during her concert at Wembley Stadium.
“So this is it after 15 months on the road and 18 months of 25 we are at the end," the letter read. "Touring is a peculiar thing, it doesn’t suit me particularly well. I'm a real homebody and I get so much joy in the small things."

Adele, 29, however, reportedly told the crowd that she will continue to write music. “I only ever did this tour for you and to hopefully have an impact on you the way that some of my favorite artists have had on me live. And I wanted my final shows to be in London because I don’t know if I’ll ever tour again and so I want my last time to be at home," she wrote. "I might never see you again at a live show. Who knows. But I will remember this for the rest of my life."

The "When We Were Young" singer, who has been on tour since last year for her album 25, previously hinted about taking her final bow during an Auckland, New Zealand, show in March.
"Touring isn't something I'm good at," she said at the time, via NBC. "Applause makes me feel a bit vulnerable," she explained during the rain-soaked show, packed with 40,000 fans. "I don't know if I will ever tour again. The only reason I've toured is you. I'm not sure if touring is my bag. My greatest accomplishment in my career is this tour."

In November 2016, Adele also revealed that she plans to expand her family once the tour is over. She and her husband, Simon Konecki, are already parents of son Angelo, 4.

Shonda Rhimes hated the attention she got after losing weight
Anyone who's lost a significant amount of weight knows just how many unwarranted compliments weight loss can bring from friends and strangers, alike. And Shonda Rhimes, who has lost a fair amount of weight over the last few years, knows these comments all too well.
In the latest edition of her Shondaland newsletter, the Scandal and Grey's Anatomy showrunner talks about how she felt after a purely physical change sparked a sudden increase in attention from everyone around her.

"Women I barely knew gushed. And I mean GUSHED. Like I was holding-a-new-baby-gushed. Only there was no new baby. It was just me. In a dress. With makeup on and my hair all did, yes. But...still the same me," Rhimes shared, per EW. "And men? They spoke to me. THEY SPOKE TO ME. Like stood still and had long conversations with me about things. It was disconcerting."
But even more disconcerting, according to Rhimes, was that all these people "suddenly felt completely comfortable" talking to her about her body. They told her she looked pretty or "so hot now." They said they were proud of her and told her she looked amazing.

"After I lost weight, I discovered that people found me valuable—worth of conversation," she shared. "I discovered that NOW people saw me as a PERSON. What the hell did they see me as before?...What value did they put on my presence at a party, a lunch, a discussion?" Rhimes was frustrated by the fact that she received so much more respect only after she'd lost weight. "Being thinner doesn't make you a different person," she wrote. "It just makes you thinner."

Unfortunately, Rhimes is right: Sizeism is still alive and well. Too often, anyone larger than a sample size (0-8) is seen as an object of ridicule, the punchline to a joke or a charity case to be taken care of. And Rhimes isn't the only one to draw attention to this issue lately. Actress Gabourey Sidibe recently told Refinery29 that she's tired of people congratulating her on her own weight loss. "My body actually has nothing to do with you," Sidibe said. "I don't really need your support for it. It seems ill-placed."

#SPORTSNEWS: Chris Paul Is Heading To Houston to Rock on with The Rockets!
Chris Paul is leaving the Los Angeles Clippers and making his way to the Houston Rockets.
According to The Vertical, the Clippers are sending All-Star point guard to the Rockets under a deal in which they will acquire Patrick Beverley,  Lou Williams,  Sam Dekker and a top three protected 2018 first-round pick.

Paul agreed to opt-in for the final year of his $24.2 million contract instead of opting out and becoming an unrestricted free agent which would have allowed him to sign a new deal that started at $34 million a year. The Rockets will still have some shifting to do financially before they officially sign Chris Paul, but once they do, they’ll begin working on trying to nab Paul George from the Indiana Pacers.

Hip Hop Celebs come and Pay Their Respects At Prodigy’s Funeral Services In NYC
Last week, Mobb Deep’s Prodigy sadly passed away at the age of 42. He was hospitalized for a sickle cell crisis after a performance and festival in Las Vegas. He battled with sickle cell anemia since birth, but that never stopped him from making his mark in the Hip Hop world.

He was laid to rest at the Frank E. Campbell "Funeral Chapel" on the Upper East Side and several Hip Hop heads and celebrites came out to pay their respects.

LL Cool J, 50 Cent, Minister Farrakhan, Remy Ma, Fat Joe, Mobb Deep’s Havoc, Ice-T, and Questlove were all in attendance to say their final goodbye.
On Instagram, Fif shared, "I never spoke at a wake or funeral before but I felt like I had to say something at P's Rest In Peace prodigy God Bless."

Pictures from inside the funeral service show the NYC rapper as a young boy and special moments of his life.
Here are a few flicks from the ceremony's program:

Below is a clip of celebrities making their way inside the service:

We're not exactly sure why the police shut down the funeral, but we do know it was all love between everyone in attendance.

May he continue to rest in peace.
