Sports Illustrated Kids NAMES Mo’ne Davis As The "2014 Sports Kid Of The Year"
13-year-old baseball prodigy Mo’ne Davis (who pitches a 70mph fastball) has been serving girl power all year. From becoming the first female pitcher to pitch a shutout in the Little League World Series to throwing out the first pitch at the 2014 World Series (and presenting an award alongside Laila Ali at the Soul Train Music Awards), Mo’ne has added yet another big feat under her belt.
Following her August 25th Sports Illustrated cover, the female sports prodigy has nabbed yet another cover, gracing the December year-end double issue of Sports Illustrated Kids as the 2014 Sports Kid of the Year!
Although her first sport of choice is basketball, chick is killing the Little League baseball scene. And the fabulous young lady has caught the attention of the First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama. FLOTUS sent out a congratulatory message to the baseball standout tweeting:

Amber Rose On Blast For Taking Money and Not Appearing at a Club in South Carolina!
Nick Cannon come get your artist. Promoter accuses Amber Rose of bailing on an appearance AFTER receiving her money. Nick Cannon is supposed to be managing Amber Rose’s career but as of late all she’s been booking are club appearances and even that’s not going well.
Over the weekend Amber Rose notified fans that she wouldn’t be appearing at a club in South Carolina as advertised, accusing the promoter of not fulfilling his end of the agreement.
What Amber didn’t count on was the promoter putting her on blast and posting his receipts online.

"Y&R" Star Kristoff St. John's Son Julian St. John TAKES His Own Life, MENTAL ILLNESS Blamed
Over the holidays, we learned about the tragic death of 24-year-old artist Julian St John, the son of "Y&R" soap star Kristoff St John and his ex-wife and WBC champ, Mia St John Boxer. Julian, who lived with mental illness, took his own life, and was memorialized on Facebook via a post from Mia.
On November 23rd Kristoff St John and I lost our beautiful son, Julian St John. Our son was the light of our lives, an artist with a beautiful mind and spirit. He fought long and hard against an illness for which there is no cure. Unfortunately the pain became too great for him and I dare not say he lost the battle--he simply chose to set himself free.
My fight for mental health will continue. They may not find a cure in my lifetime, but we can try and prevent the loss of another beautiful soul.
Funeral services will be December 5th, his birthday, in Westlake, California. Following services will be a reception and art exhibit from his final collection http://theartofjulian.com
On Facebook, Kristoff posted Mia's tribute alongside his own caption, "And so the legend continues...once upon a time." Our condolences go out to the St John family.
Kelis Weds Her Mystery Man In Secret Ceremony Over Thanksgiving Weekend
Turns out that “Life is Good” for the former Mrs. Jones as well. A trusted source tells that “Bossy” singer Kelis Rogers secretly wed her boyfriend on Sunday.
The 35-year-old has been notoriously tightlipped about the new man in her life, referring to her man only as “him” in social media posts.
The singer was asked about this mysterious “him” during a visit to “106 and Park” and she responded:
‘People keep asking me, “Is it your son? Is it you son?” Obviously I cook for my son all the time, but, “Things I make for him,” is not my son. And that’s that.”
In August she told Mail Online when asked if, with the man in mind, she was feeling her sexiest yet: ‘Yeah, I feel great actually. I am feeling kind of fantastic.
Kelis isn’t the only celeb who wed this weekend. Scarlett Johansson also secretly wed, as did Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi.
Fellow Model Blast Kendall Jenner in Open Letter
Kendall Jenner has been making her mark in the Fashion industry this year, she was all over the Fashion Week runways, she got a feature and fashion spread in Vogue, she’s the face of Estée Lauder’s gorgeous campaign, was on a ton of magazine covers — basically, more than many models do in their entire careers. A model took the time to write Kendall Jenner a nice long open letter .
She goes by the name of Arisce Wanzer and she says Kendall hasn’t had to do any work to get there.
Talking about Kendall is famous because of the Kardashians is nothing new, of course, but Wanzer takes it to a new, much stronger level, saying that people like Kendall becoming famous “cheapens [the] entire experience” for other models. Read her letter below:
Dear Kendall,
Take a moment and remove yourself from your current situation, if you can, to a life that isn’t riddled with excess and only hearing the word “yes” to your wants and requests. Now, imagine you’re from a small town and/or Third-World country where your only way to get out of your current social class, achieve your dreams, get a green card or just gain better work conditions is to become a high-fashion model. You have to leave for six months to a year sometimes, signing contracts you can barely understand, let alone oblige to, almost without choice. You’re away from your family, your friends and everything you know. You live in a one-bedroom apartment with six other girls in the same situation in this Big Apple, New York City.
Did I mention you’re only 17 when all of this goes down? That means you have to go to tutoring and/or English lessons in between learning how to “walk” at the agency, attending castings every other day, going on test shoots to get you experience, trying to learn your new neighborhood, going to the gym and hoping to maybe make some money all at once. Oh, and your apartment and test shoots aren’t free, by the way. They are added to your account with the agency, as are your casting outfits and cellphone. These are going to leave you in some serious debt if nobody books you for anything; some girls owe upward of $30,000 after a year of trying to book gigs, so take that into perspective as well, Miss Jenner.
So now let’s pretend you actually lived through all of that, and it’s finally Fashion Week. Exciting, right? This could be your big break! You could send your family in Belarus or Woodbridge, Va., the money they need for your little brothers to have new clothes and/or books for school and/or even afford a plane ticket home for the holidays! Imagine standing in line after line of girls with your exact height and body measurements all day, each one hoping for a coveted spot on the New York Fashion Week runway.
Casting after casting, and you just can’t seem to get your place. But suddenly after a week full of the word “No,” killing yourself at the gym, exhausting yourself in classes, cutting your diet in half, not talking with your family and sleeping in a room with six equally exhausted girls, you get the call. Your agent texts you with an 8 a.m. fitting at Marc Jacobs. Oh my god, you’re going to walk for Marc Jacobs! This is a dream come true, someone finally said yes, and the prestige is beyond what you could have imagined! So you pack your model bag, a bottled water, your walking shoes and agency-approved casting outfit. This could be your big break, assuming they don’t cut your look last minute, a common practice done to no-name girls, so fingers crossed!
The fitting was perfect, your garment is amazing, and Marc was SO nice! And cute, too! One last fitting after that one, and it’s show time; you’re finally going to debut everything you’ve worked so hard for. You get to prove to your family that you left everything behind for a great cause, and you can finally pay back all of your agency debt, not to mention the money your parents lent you to make ends meet.
It’s the morning of the show, and you’re up and ready, grab some fresh fruit to nibble on, pack your bag, and you’re out the door. The subway is packed with lots of models, agents, buyers and fashion people in general, all exhausted, but ready to work. You’ve been bumped/tripped by both a hairstylist’s travel kit and a makeup guys’ enormous Caboodles-like suitcase, all before 10 a.m. You walk into Lincoln Center, and it’s like magic … you can’t believe you’re here! You’ve finally made it!
Backstage is a commotion circus of clothes, hair, makeup, yelling, Fashion TV interviews … it’s an Instagram overload! All the big names are there, your personal heroes including Hanne Gaby Odiele, Karlie Kloss, Joan Smalls, Jamie Bochert, Anna Wintour, Marc Jacobs himself — the list goes on! You’ve really hit the big leagues!
But wait, isn’t that a reality TV star over there in hair and makeup? Yea, that’s definitely a Kardashian or something. What is she doing here? Did she take the subway? Was she at the casting? What agency is she with? I didn’t see her last season … Does she need MORE fame? MORE money? A green card perhaps? Doesn’t she get enough cash from that show that all of ignorant America glamorizes? Didn’t her sister have sex with someone on camera and profit from the video sales to get their family its new line of limelight? This girl didn’t do and doesn’t owe half of what you did (remember, you’re NOT “KJ” in this scenario) to get here today, that much is certain. Her mommy surely called a top agency, got her in the door and the design houses just chose to milk her fame like the cash cow that it is. One by one like dominos from Vogue to Givenchy, fashion is selling out to the ignorant masses for money. What happened to the art, the cerebral part of fashion? Did it really all die with Alexander McQueen?
Well, there goes the neighborhood, I guess. Gone is the prestige you once felt as a “chosen one” by Marc, Anna or Ricardo — this cheapens your entire experience. You thought you were special, that your hard work had finally paid off. You didn’t realize that these coveted spots were for sale. The cost? The soul and dignity of a fashion house. The clothes will still sell, and the players will still play, but the image will be forever tarnished by these real life Veruca Salts buying their way in with sleazy fame rights.
You’re on to walk in five, so you’re smoking to calm your nerves. You need to ash your cigarette, and there’s Kendall Jenner’s drink. You already feel a bit better.

SHOCKER! APOLLO Claims Phaedra DATED Him When He Slept On Air Mattress In The Projects?
With two episodes in the can, this season of RHOA is already shaping up to be one of the franchises' most memorable. Although there were many watercooler moments from last night, folks can't stop gagging about the cup of tea that Apollo Nida spilled about his estranged wife, the show's resident southern belle, Phaedra Parks.
Full disclosure - Apollo Nida has very little to gain from being nice to Phadra (she already said she WILL NOT bring the kids to see him in jail), but he REALLY threw her under the bus last night. Here are some fun facts we learned from his brief talk to Peter Thomas (these are all ALLEGATIONS straight from Apollo's mouth):
-Phaedra began dating him right after he was released from jail (the first time). She visited him daily.
-He lived in the projects and wore an ankle monitoring device (house arrest didn't deter Phaedra, she loved his body).
-Phaedra used to call him at 3am for booty calls, he had to buzz her in. Apollo feels like Phaedra abandoned him at the lowest point in his life.

Apollo also admitted that he lied about Kenya to protect himself (from Phaedra's wrath) and also to "turn up." SMH....imagine the southern belle "getting it in" on an air mattress in the projects. Interesting....

Charlamagne tha God and Harlem rapper Azealia Banks got into a bit of a back and forth on Twitter this weekend, when the “212” rapper decided to call the radio host “jigaboo the champagne goddess” after saying she’d love to go on air and “drag him to his demise.” It went downhill from there.
Reports Vlad: Charlamagne decided to take the high road, responding that she is welcome to come on the show, and leaving it at that. Banks, however, responded that he’d just try to make her look stupid if she did pay The Breakfast Club a visit, and the rest is Twitter gold......See it for yourselves!

Stevie Wonder, Meryl Streep, Tom Brokaw and Ethel Kennedy among 19 Presidential Medal of Freedom recipients at White House ceremony
Meryl Streep, Stevie wonder, Tom Brokaw and Ethel Kennedy were among the famous figures who received a Presidential Medal of Freedom from Barack Obama at the White House.
They were among a group of 19 artists, activists and lawmakers receiving the award - the highest possible civilian honor - at the ceremony Monday.
'This is one of my favorite events,' Obama said from the East Room. 'Once a year, we set aside this event to celebrate people who have made America stronger and wiser and more humane and more beautiful with our higher civilian honor.'
In a lengthy speech he lavished attention on his favorite talents - recounting his personal love for Streep's films, and how he bought his first Stevie Wonder album aged 10 - and still listens to him on the campaign trail.
He said: 'I have said publicly, I love Meryl Streep. I love her. Her husband knows I love her, Michelle knows I love her. There's nothing nothing either of them can do about it.
'She inhabits her characters so fully and compassionately, saying it is the greatest gift of human beings that we have this power of empathy.
'And off the screen as an advocate for women and girls, she uses that gift to help others write the stories of their choosing and to encourage greater empathy in the rest of us.
'She is truly one of America's leading ladies.'
Also honored: Human rights advocate Ethel Kennedy - a member of the Kennedy political dynasty - also received a medal Monday
'This is by the way the first album I ever bought with my own money. I was ten years old, maybe 11.'
He continued: 'A musical prodigy with an electrifying voice, Stevie's blend of R&B and jazz and funk and blues and soul and whatever else you got speaks of love and loss, justice and equality, war and peace.

'But what really defines Stevie's music is the warmth and humanity that resonates in every note. Some of the songs helped us to fall in love on the others mended our hearts - and motivated some of us on the campaign trail.
In a reference to one of Wonder's biggest hits, he finished by saying: 'And thanks to Stevie all of us have been moved to Higher Ground.'
Others receiving the award included Ethel Kennedy, author Isabel Allende and Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., the longest-serving member of Congress who is retiring at the end of the year.
The list also included Native American activist Suzan Harjo, actress Marlo Thomas, economist Robert Solow, golfer Charles Sifford, former Rep. Abner Mikva of Illinois and physicist Mildred Dresselhaus.
Obama also praised Tom Brokaw at length, focusing on his role reporting major world events to the American public while at NBC.

'We have welcomed him into her home at dinnertime and Sunday mornings. We trusted him to tell us what we needed to know and to ask questions that needed asking.
'I know because i have been on the receiving end of some of those questions.'
Posthumous medals went to six individuals, among them civil rights workers James Chaney, Andrew Goodman and Michael Schwerner, who were slain in 1964 as they participated in a historic voter registration drive in Mississippi.
Other posthumous awards were for choreographer Alvin Ailey and Reps. Patsy Mink of Hawaii and Edward Roybal of California, founder of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.
Composer Stephen Sondheim was scheduled to receive the award, but Obama said he couldn't make it and will be included in next year's class of honorees.

SPORTS TEA TALK: Brennan Clay Defends Decision To Out Affair Between Wife
It was all good just a few months ago when Brennan Clay, former Sooners baller, who got cut from the Broncos as a rookie earlier this season, posed it up with his wife Gina D'Agostini and Cleveland Browns QB Johnny Manziel (above).
Fast forward to today, and dude has a serious dislike for his wife. Brennan revealed to the entire world, via Twitter, that Gina has been cheating on him with Dallas Cowboys star Demarco Murray...who happens to be his former OU teammate!
Once the news broke and folks thought this was a hacking or a hoax, Brennan took to his Twitter to re-confirm. And he has no apologies for outing these two:

Demarco Murray has a baby's mother/girlfriend, former "Passions" soap star Heidi Mueller (above), whom he may or may not have recently married. The twosome have a daughter named Savanna.
Demarco has remained silent on the drama and so have Gina and Heidi.
