Rihanna Rings In 2014 In New York City
She’s always up for a top-shelf party, and Rihanna was in the house at Jay Z’s 40/40 Club in Manhattan for New Year’s Eve bash.
Joined by English model gal pal Cara Delevingne , the “Umbrella” songstress looked to be in good spirits as she pushed past a crowd of fans and paparazzi and made her way inside.
And of course, Ri-Ri was dressed to impress, donning a white fur coat with a white silk pantsuit and veil as she prepared to welcome 2014.
Prior to her arrival, Rihanna tweeted, “#New York I know where you're gonna be tonight!! Good news is I'm gonna be there too!! 40/40 club ton pop awf! #NewYearzEve.”

Chance The Rapper Covers The Source's "Rookie Of The Year" Issue
Chance The Rapper, who became an overnight favorite due to his critically acclaimed mixtape Acid Rap, caps off a stellar year with a cover appearance on The Source magazine's "Rookie of the Year" issue.
The Chicago native, partially known for his quirkiness, doubles as a puppeteer. On his lap is a smaller version of himself, which undoubtedly inspired by his independent success. In other words, Chance simply controls his own destiny.

See an excerpt from The Source cover story below:
“I'm not even on the drugs like that anymore. I smoke cigarettes—I should quit that at some point—and weed, but it's like, you know, in my opinion, the point of life is to have fun, and lots of it. From experience, sometimes, drugs can get in the way of that, so, to answer your question, drugs don't really have that much of a role in my life anymore, but they inspired some of the music, and that'll always be a part of me, in some way.” When Chance takes that stage, whether it's at Hammerstein Ballroom or across the Atlantic Ocean, the connection between him and his fans is almost as electric as the bass line in “Smoke Again”. At some points, Chance emits such a tense aura the gaze between him and a group of fans as he runs through his fast-paced verse on “Good Ass Intro”, Acid Raps' introductory track could be cut with a pair of scissors. Don't mistake his over-the-top personality with him straying away from the pure talents of rap, though. “I'm a rapper, dog”, he playfully points out, ‘I rap raw as f*ck dude, ask The Source Magazine.'”

Rapper Eve Engaged To British Boyfriend Maximillion Cooper
‘Tis the season for engagements. Rapper Eve (born Eve Johan Jiffers) is engaged to her British beau Maximillion Cooper. According to E! News, Cooper popped the question on Christmas Day as evidenced by the large rock in a photo the 35-year-old Philadelphia native posted on her Instagram page with her mother and younger brother.
#familytime!!!! Me and my mom and my lil brother Farrod just got to the English country side. Feel so#blessed to be with my family and sharing my life here. I pray that you bring 2014 in with people you #love. And nothing but #good #energy
The pair have been dating since 2011. Copper is a designer and creator of the motor rally, Gumball 3000, where 120 cars race over 3,000 miles internationally on public roads.
This will be the first marriage for Eve and the second for Cooper, who has four kids from a previous marriage. In the past, Eve discussed the possibility of raising bi-racial children:
I don’t want them to see color. I never did. I grew up in the hood and my mother was very good at it not being a black thing, even though I grew up around all black people. I want them to want to know everything about all kinds of races. I’m a black woman and I love being a black woman. And I think my child should know that black part of themselves. But at the same time, their father would be white and I would want them to know that side of themselves. And British! That’s a whole other situation [Laughs].
Eve added that she’s in love with Cooper’s children, but was initially hesitant:
I love it now. It took a minute. I was like, ‘I’m not sure this is what I want to be my life.’ You know? But honestly, it’s been three years now and we’ve gone on vacations together, and they’re the sweetest kids. We talk about having kids. We talk about marriage. The kids are excited. They want a brown baby sister.

Congrats to the couple!

In an interview with “Vibe,” Dame says he’s not angry at Jay Z because during his tenure at Roc-A-Fella Records he made “too much money to be mad at him.” He adds that he doesn’t believe people become enemies just because they sever business ties. He says such thinking is “hype” created by the media.

Jay Z and Dame were recently photographed together when Dame went to see Jay’s concert in Los Angeles.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers I AM NOT GAY!
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers on Tuesday denied rampant rumors that he is a gay man.
The 30-year-old Super Bowl champ was giving a weekly radio interview when he charged straight at the controversy.
'I'm just going to say I'm not gay,' Rodgers told Wisconsin's 540 AM ESPN radio. 'I really, really like women. That's all I can really say about that.'

The topic came up as the 9 year NFL veteran discussed the downsides of NFL stardom, reports the Huffington Post.

'There isn't a whole lot of separation from your public and private life,' Rodgers said in the moments leading up to his announcement.
'You always have to be on at times. Occasionally people will get upset if you say 'no' to a picture when you're eating dinner or something. That's kind of the hard part. Or if you get crazy rumors that swirl around you from time to time that are just silly.'

The rumors arose first on celebrity gossip sites PerezHilton.com and TheFameDriven.com.
Both sites allege that Rodgers' longtime friend, roommate and personal assistant Kevin Lanflisi is also his lover and site anonymous inside sources. Rodgers and Lanflisi have been widely reported to have had a falling out in recent months.

We Remembers Stars Lost In 2013
As we say our goodbye to 2013, The Chronicles remembers the remarkable icons and Hollywood legends lost over the past year.
Whether it was winning the hearts of young ladies by singing popular tunes on "Glee" or assising millions of movie-goes making their big screen pick with reputable reviews, the stars we lost this year will never be forgotten.

Cory Monteith:
Making for one of the most memorable moments of 2013, the "Glee" star passed away in his Vancouver hotel room from an overdose on July 13. Cory was only 31 years old leaving behind a touching mark on Hollywood and further opened up the conversation for substance abuse prevention.

Though many of his industry pals felt the tragic loss, his girlfriend Lea Michele was arguably the hardest hit with the news. It took some time, but Lea eventually opened up about her loss and said, “Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love & support. Cory will forever be in my heart.”

Paul Walker:
The handsome actor died in a car crash at the young age of 40 on November 30. News about the "Fast & Furious" star's tragic death created an outpouring of responses from his fellow industry pals including his franchise co-star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

"When I first met Paul, I think in our late 20s, we were young kids in the business. Then years later, when I did Fast Five, we had an opportunity to spend a lot of time together and become reacquainted. At that time, we had both been in the business at that time for over a decade, and the most important thing that we had in common was the importance of family time and being a great father to our daughters. We bonded over that."

James Gandolfini:
The "Sopranos" star passed away while vacationing with his family in Italy on June 19. James was only 51 years old and suffered a heart attack. The talented actor won numerous awards including a Golden Globe for his work on the HBO show.

His co-star Brad Pitt was among the stars to remember the late actor and said, "I admire Jimmy as a ferocious actor, a gentle soul and a genuinely funny man. I am fortunate to have sat across the table from him and am gutted by this loss. I wish his family strength and some semblance of peace."

Nelson Mandela:
Making the entire world come to a halt, the inspiring South African leader died on December 5 at the age of 95. His country's President Jacob Zuma released a statement upon his death, which read, "He is now resting. He is now at peace. Our nation has lost its greatest son. Our people have lost a father." Many stars remembered Mandela including Jay Z, who dedicated a performance to the late legend and said, "We want to dedicate this song to Nelson Mandela. A great man, spent 27 years in prison, came out to be president. All dreams are possible."

Roger Ebert:
After a long battle with thyroid and salivary gland cancer, the legendary film critic died on April 4 at the age of 70. Roger was the head film critic for the Chicago Sun Times for 46 years and also offered up his skills on television for 31 years. A plethora of big names paid tribute to Ebert, including President Barack Obama who wrote, "The movies won’t be the same without Roger."

Ray Price:
Country music lost a legend as Price passed away at the age of 87 on December 16. In 2011 Ray was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and his final days were spent at home receiving hospice care. LeAnn Rimes was among his admirers and shared, “R.I.P. Ray Price. Prayers go out to your family. Hope the angels are enjoying your voice.”

Peter O'Toole:
A true Hollywood icon was lost when O'Toole passed away in a London hospital on December 14 after a lengthy bout with illness. The "Troy" star was 81 years old and during his successful career received eight Academy Awards nominations. He is best known for playing the lead role in the iconic adventure drama, "Lawrence of Arabia."

Lee Thompson Young:
After he missed his call time on August 19, the former Disney star was found dead in his apartment at the age of 29 years old. Lee was best known for his work on "The Famous Jett Jackson" and "Rizolli and Isles." In addition to his small screen success, Lee also portrayed running back Chris Comer in the 2004 flick “Friday Night Lights.”

Kidd Kraddick:
The 53-year-old DJ died at a charity golf event near New Orleans to support his Kidd's Kids organization on July 27. Syndicated by YEA Networks, the Texas-residing radio mainstay is heard on more than 75 Top 40 and Hot AC radio stations and is also heard by servicemen and women around the world on the American Forces Radio Network. Many stars remembered Kraddick including Demi Lovato who shared, "#RIPKiddKraddick.. Grew up with you always on my radio.. Had the pleasure of meeting you back when I was 9 at a showcase where even way back then, you believed in my talent. Dallas, TX lost a hero tonight and my heart is broken for the KISS FM family. You're already missed Kidd."

Lou Reed:
Rock N' Roll lost a trailblazer in the Velvet Underground singer as Rolling Stone announced his death at the age of 71 on October 27. Though his band was never considered to be a mainstream success in the 60's, their popularity grew tremendously in the following decades. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. Many musicians remembered Reed, including Miley Cyrus who tweeted, “noooooooooo notttttttttt LOU REED," while Lena Dunham shared, “We love you Lou. We love you Laurie.”

Winters joined the cast of “Mork & Mindy” for its final season and also appeared in popular movies like “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.” Jonathan was also a favorite on Johnny Carson’s “Tonight Show,” and even had a short-lived program of his own. Winters died of natural causes.

Mimi Faust Says She Feels Sorry For Love & Hip Hop’s Tara Wallace: My heart goes out to you.
Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’s Mimi Faust certainly knows how it feels to participate in an embarrassing love triangle, in front of viewers. We recently chatted with the reality star, who is going on her third season on the VH1 show, asking if she’s tuned into Love & Hip Hop (New York). And like some of you, she’s addicted to the show and says she certainly sympathizes with the relationship drama involving Peter Gunz, Tara Wallace and Amina Buddafly.

It’s insane. It’s very entertaining, I cannot lie. Every Monday, I’m like, ‘What the f**k are they about to do next?!’

She also points out that it’s apparent that cheating, love triangles and relationship drama goes on across the country; not just in her own world.
Like really Peter, you’re gonna do that. I know it’s a little bit like my situation but that goes on everyday in every state. It’s not just me and him (Stevie), Peter doing what he’s doing. It is very entertaining, my heart goes out to Tara, I feel your pain.

In addition to reality TV, she also shared plans on penning her first book.

It will be about dating a man in the industry. It will also have short stories from different women. It won’t be about just me, I will incorporate other people I know. All stories of other women that have had similar experiences in their life too.

And while she’s dabbling in fashion, she has no plans on launching her rumored clothing line, MADE.
MADE stands for Making a Difference Everyday (laughs), it’s not a line. It comes from a joke being made and I’m captilazing off of it. I’m actually coming out with a children’s apparel line that is inspired by my daughter. I also have an accessory line and a book deal that I’m working on.

OK Then…h/t TheJasmineBrand
