Some Blaming Race, Immigration, Diversity For Anti-Gay Hate Crime Murder Of Mark Carson
The nerve of some people they will do any to gain the spotlight! Some conservatives are blaming issues like “diversity,” “immigration,” and ”social friction,” claiming they supposedly “lead to” the death of Mark Carson, the 32-year old gay man shot to death early Saturday morning in New York City’s Greenwich Village. Dan Riehl and Robert Stacy McCain, a former Bretbart writer and a former Washington Times reporter, are also expressing outrage that the “Hispanic” identity of the reportedly confessed murderer of Mark Carson was not a major focus in mainstream media reports.
To be clear, it is unknown even if the allegedly confessed murderer, Elliot Morales, is Hispanic, nor should his heritage matter.
In “Gay man Marc Carson shot dead by ‘Hispanic’ in NYC ‘hate attack’,” Dan Riehl, who, until a reported illness late last year was a regular writer for the Tea Party ultraconservative news site Breitbart, writes that “in researching the item – other than [an] early NY Post item the media fails to mention that the perp is apparently an Hispanic male. Even the NYT’s seems to have decided that tidbit of news is somehow not fit to print. I wonder why?”
Could it possibly be because the “perp’s” heritage, his race — unless police determine otherwise — had nothing to do with his decision to carry a .38, show it proudly to a bartender minutes before asking Mark Carson if he and his companion were “gay wrestlers,” and then asking Carson, “Do you want to die here?,” before pulling the trigger and shooting one fatal bullet into Carson’s head?
Building on Riehl’s post, Robert Stacy McCain, a former assistant national editor and reporter for The Washington Times, penned an article, “‘Diversity Is Our Strength’ — And Also Leads to Hate-Crime Murder in New York,” in which he writes:
Dan Riehl points out that “three Hispanic males” were implicated in the murder of a gay black man in Greenwich Village, a potentially relevant fact that the New York Times couldn’t be bothered to mention in maundering on about the historic vicinity of the crime…
McCain, (who supposedly is a distant relative of Senator and former GOP presidential candidate John McCain,) claims:A deluge of immigration, the breakdown of the family, the failure of public education, economic malaise — pious liberal sermonizing cannot eliminate the sources of social friction that lead to crimes like this.
McCain (not the Senator) adds:Tres hombres decide to go swaggering muy macho through the West Village on Friday night, looking for somebody to fight…
And also claims:
Gun-control laws, hate-crime laws — none of New York ’s laws could protect a “fabulous gay man” from Harlem and his boyfriend…
McCain, whom the Southern Poverty Law Center reports was a member of a neo-confederate white supremacist organization, the League of the South, concludes:
In a culture where the ordinary sources of male self-esteem are stigmatized, doesn’t violent machismo become more common?
McCain does not specify what “ordinary sources of male self-esteem” supposedly are being “stigmatized.”
The mind reels.
The tragic murder of Mark Carson is the fifth act of anti-LGBT violence in New York City this month alone. It was an anti-gay hate crime, and there’s absolutely no proof or reason to blame the murderer’s heritage — or anything other than his sheer homophobia, hate, and access to a gun — for his actions.
Leave it to supposed “pro-life” conservatives who are always claiming, “guns don’t kill, people do,” to now blame heritage, race, immigration, diversity, and “social friction” instead of the actual homophobic murderer.
Rest in peace, Mark Carson.
