Last week, Queen Latifah became a victim of an unfortunate crime trend that has plagued Atlantans this holiday season.
Thieves stole the rapper and actress’ car from a south Fulton County gas station on December 20.
Fulton County Police said another driver was driving Queen Latifah’s vehicle alone when someone stole her car. The ordeal happened on the evening of December 20, at the Shell gas station on Fulton Industrial Boulevard.
Police said, in their report, the driver of the 2015 Mercedes Benz S63 was pumping gas when a white BMW pulled up beside him, then he heard the vehicle ignition start and saw Ms. Latifah’s vehicle speed off.
Police then made contact with the owner of the vehicle, identified by Queen Latifah’s real name, Dana Owens.
Police said Atlanta officers tracked down the vehicle to an apartment complex on McDaniels Street in Southwest Atlanta; security said they spotted three males near the vehicle, as well as a white BMW and another Dodge Charger (a similar vehicle was reported stolen in College Park).
Police said in their report, Ms. Owens inspected the recovered vehicle, and found lemonade and fruit punch bottles left behind by the thieves.
Queen Latifah has been in the city shooting Lee Daniels‘ new Fox series, “Star.”

RHoA: What’s up with Kim Zolciak Feud With Sheree Whitfield?
What about Kim Zolciak’s feud with RHOA star Sheree Whitfield? Radar Online reports that Zolciak talked about returning during an interview with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live. The topic came up when a fan asked Zolciak if a RHOA cameo is in the works.
“I love doing Don’t Be Tardy,” Zolciak said. “I love Sheree, I really like Cynthia. I don’t know.”
Zolciak has a complicated history with Whitfield. Despite an epic fight prior to Zolciak’s exit, Radar Online reports the RHOA alum is confident they can patch things up.
“Sheree’s really awesome,” she shared. “Sheree and I had that one wig pulling situation, but Sheree and I have known each other for 14 years, and she’s a pretty good person. And she introduced me to my husband. So I might go back and get her a man. We’ll see. I’m not opposed to it.”
Zolciak was introduced to her current husband, Kroy Biermann, during a 2010 charity party in Atlanta. Their introduction was featured as part of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The couple eventually landed their very own spinoff, though their marriage has undergone a rough patch over the past year.
According to Reality Tea, Zolciak also dished on how she loves to embarrass her kids.
“Every day, I honk my horn at their school,” she admitted. “I’m cranking Adele.”
Zolciak went on to reveal that she fell for her husband after checking out his backside. She also recently binge-watched Married at First Sight and just purchased a new Gucci bag. The answers were part of a rapid-fire question session.
Meanwhile, Kim Zolciak has yet to officially confirm her return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Despite the lack of confirmation, there is some evidence that Zolciak will make a cameo or two this season.

Hip Hop News: Troy Ave Released From Hospital, Speaks Out About Christmas Shooting
Rapper Troy Ave has been released from the hospital after being shot on Christmas Day. This is the 2nd time the rapper has been shot this year, following a shoot out at a T.I. concert earlier this year.
The shooting occurred in his hoetown of Brooklyn when Troy and his girlfriend pulled up in a red Maserati before dinner with family. According to reports, a man in a hoodie walked up to his vehicle and began shooting in the driver’s side window, shooting Troy in the arm and grazing his head.
Troy was released from the hospital yesterday (December 26th) and he’s speaking out for the first time about the scary situation. Talking to REVOLT, he gave an update on his injuries and thanked God for keeping him here.
"To be honest man I got a bullet still in my head and another one lodged in my back," he said.
"Words can't describe how blessed I feel to be here. To all the fans, just ride with ya boy. Keep me in prayers and play my music loud."
He even plugged his new mixtape saying, "Spread the word bout that #WhiteChristmas4 mixtape cause that's my gift to yall!," he added. "I was given the gift of life. Yours truly Dope Boy Troy."
The NYC rapper (government name Ronald Collins) was out on a $500,00 bond from the shooting earlier this year. He was arrested and charged with attempted murder and criminal possession after he was caught on surveillance video shooting a gun during the T.I. concert at Irving Plaza back in May.
He accidentally shot himself in the leg and his longtime friend Ronald McPhatter was shot in the stomach and pronounced dead at Beth Israel hospital. In August, Troy Ave filed a lawsuit against Live Nation and Irving Plaza for failing to search VIP attendants in the venue.
Carrie Fisher Dead - Legendary 'Star Wars' Actress Passes Away at Age 60
Carrie Fisher, well known for her work as Princess Leia in the Star Wars franchise, has passed away at the age of 60.
“It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning,” family spokesperson Simon Halls confirmed. “She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly. Our entire family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers.”
On Friday (December 23), it was reported that Carrie had a “massive heart attack” while flying to Los Angeles from London.
Her mother Debbie Reynolds gave an update over the weekend, saying she was in stable condition.
Carrie made her film debut in the classic comedy Shampoo in 1975 before going on to star as Princess Leia in the Star Wars franchise. She most recently reprised her role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and she completed her work on the upcoming Episode VIII before her death. Some of her other notable roles were in The Blues Brothers, Hannah and Her Sisters, and When Harry Met Sally.
In addition to being an actress, Carrie was a prolific author who wrote semi-autobiographical novels including “Postcards from the Edge” and the autobiographical play Wishful Drinking.
Carrie is survived by her mother, actress Debbie Reynolds, and her daughter, actress Billie Lourd. We send our thoughts and condolences to her loved ones during this difficult time.

President Obama Signs ‘Emmett Till Act’ To Reopen Unsolved Civil Rights Crime Cases
With just a few weeks left in office, President Barack Obama has signed the “Emmett Till Civil Rights Crimes Reauthorization Act of 2016,” which expands the responsibilities for the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) to investigate and prosecute civil rights crimes that occurred before 1980 and resulted in death.
Via The Grio: According to a White House summary, the bill calls on the DOJ and FBI to support the “full accounting of all victims whose deaths or disappearances were the result of racially motivated crimes” and “hold accountable under federal and state law individuals who were perpetrators of, or accomplices in, unsolved civil rights murders and disappearances.”
The bill also requires the federal agencies to meet regularly with civil rights organizations, institutions of higher education, and DOJ-designated entities to coordinate information sharing and discuss the status of DOJ’s Emmett Till Act work.
The agencies must also keep families regularly informed about the status of the investigations.

"Being Mary Jane" Star Gabrielle Union Reaches Settlement With BET In Breach Of Contract Lawsuit
Gabrielle Union and BET have reached a settlement in the breach of contract lawsuit filed by the "Being Mary Jane" actress. Union filed the lawsuit in October, claiming the network attempted to combine Seasons 4 and 5 of the television show into one 20-episode season.
This would have extended the season beyond the terms of their agreement.
The complaint read, "It is outrageous that BET would treat one of its biggest stars in this manner after all she has done to support the network and contribute to its success."
Now, the "Being Mary Jane" actress and BET have come to an agreement.
Deadline reports: “BET Networks is pleased to announce that they have reached an amicable agreement with Gabrielle Union and look forward to sharing the new season of Being Mary Jane with its loyal fans beginning January 10, 2017.
"The future of BET’s signature drama appeared to be in doubt after Union filed the lawsuit in October. Union had alleged BET and the show’s producers had reneged on an agreement to have a significant break between the 10-episode fourth and fifth seasons of the drama. According to Union’s camp, BET and Being Mary Jane producers threw that deal aside so production could run back-to-back and costs cut. Union was seeking general damages of at least $3 million and a declaration that BET could not seek more than 13 episodes for any season of Being Mary Jane. Series producer Breakdown Productions also was a defendant in the suit.
"Being Mary Jane has seen a series of negotiations between star and network since the show launched in 2013. Union and BET made a deal for maximum 13-episode seasons so the actress could continue to pursue movie roles.

Bruce Springsteen releases live album of Clarence Clemons' final performance
Bruce Springsteen is giving fans a present for the holidays by bringing it back to the days when the E Street Band was in full force.
The “Born to Run” singer dropped a new live album Saturday of material from 2009. The Nov. 22 show in Buffalo, New York at the HSBC Arena marked the final live performance of the E Street Band’s saxophonist Clarence Clemons prior to his death in June 2011.

Hip Hop News: Troy Ave Shot Twice On Christmas Day
Troy Ave was shot once again. Just months after being charged with attempted murder at a May concert in Manhattan, the rapper, whose real name is Roland Collins, was reportedly shot twice while on his way to visit his family on Christmas Day.
The New York MC was at an intersection in Brooklyn at approximately 4 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 25). According to The New York Times, that’s when an unidentified man approached Ave’s Maserati and began firing multiple rounds. Troy was hit twice — one bullet struck his arm, another grazed his head. Ave then crashed his car into a parked vehicle.
He was hospitalized and treated for the wounds at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center. So far, there is no description of the shooter and no arrests have been made, as officials continue investigating the situation.
50 Cent visited the rapper, who he once had a feud with, in the hospital. He posted a photo beside Ave and updated fans on his status. “Dope boy Troy all good,” he wrote. “Merry Christmas.”
In May, Troy was involved in a shooting at Manhattan’s Irving Plaza, where T.I. was slated to perform. He was reportedly shot that night, and was seen firing a weapon in surveillance footage. In June, Troy pled not guilty to attempted second-degree murder and other counts. By August, he sued Live Nation for an alleged security breach.
Out on $500,000 bond, Troy released White Christmas 4, the fourth installment in his mixtape series, prior to the shooting on Friday (Dec. 24).

Charlie Hunnam ghosted his girlfriend for five months because ‘Method acting’?
The Lost City of Z was always going to be a troubled production, I think. Brad Pitt and his production company Plan B were working for years to put the film together, and Brad was supposed to star at one point. At another point, Benedict Cumberbatch was cast but he eventually dropped out as the production start date kept changing. Finally, the cast was set: Robert Pattinson and Charlie Hunnam. They filmed in Colombia in 2015 for months on end. Pattinson lost a lot of weight and grew a sadness beard. And what happened with Charlie Hunnam? Well, he basically lost contact with his girlfriend Morgana for five months. Charlie told the story to Entertainment Weekly and he made it sound like he did it to be so “Method Actor.” Blah.
When Charlie Hunnam agreed to play 19th-century explorer Percy Fawcett — opposite Robert Pattinson as fellow traveler Henry Costin — in the film adaptation of David Grann’s The Lost City of Z, he knew it wouldn’t be easy. Giving Hunnam only five days between filming on King Arthur: Legend of the Sword and Lost City of Z, the five-month shoot took him away from longtime girlfriend with essentially no means of contact. The solution? A letter a day — or that’s what Hunnam promised, anyway.
“We went to Colombia, and the mail system doesn’t really work very well,” Hunnam said. “It’s completely unreliable. I received a letter from her, and I realized that from the tone of it and things she was saying that she hadn’t received the two letters that I sent before.”
With timely letters not really in the cards, Hunnam decided to go even more Method in portraying the explorer-cum-absentee father Fawcett. He stopped writing altogether. “Which obviously makes me sound like a total bastard, appropriately so,” Hunnam said. “But I was very apologetic.” The separation, however, helped Hunnam understand Percival Fawcett’s obsession. “One of the things that [director James Gray] and I felt strongly that we wanted to explore in the film,” Hunnam said, “was the conflict between family life and the exterior demands that are made on us and the social and economic demands that we all need to deal with in life, being balanced or in conflict with the internal drive, to be the people we want to be and achieve the things that we want to achieve.”
But where does that leave things with Hunnam and the girlfriend he promised to write to? Well, while Colombian mail system failed him, the jewel market did not.
“I had the benefit of shooting in Colombia, where they have rather lovely and somewhat cheap emeralds,” Hunnam says. “My girlfriend is a jewelry designer, so I was able to come back with an appropriately sized gift. It didn’t remedy all of the trouble I was in, but it got me halfway there.”

Uproar after Pennsylvania professor calls for 'white genocide' in a Christmas wish tweet
A Drexel University professor has been summoned to a meeting with school officials after he tweeted a Christmas Eve message wishing for 'white genocide.'
George Ciccariello-Maher, who is white and an associate professor of politics at the Philadelphia university, told The Associated Press by email Monday that his Christmas Eve message to nearly 11,000 Twitter followers — 'All I Want for Christmas is White Genocide' — was meant to be satirical.
Drexel was not amused, condemning Ciccariello-Maher's tweet and saying in a statement it was 'taking this situation very seriously.'
'While the University recognizes the right of its faculty to freely express their thoughts and opinions in public debate, Professor Ciccariello-Maher's comments are utterly reprehensible, deeply disturbing, and do not in any way reflect the values of the University,' Drexel said.
Ciccariello-Maher, whose biography says his academic specialties include 'race and racism,' said Drexel apparently didn't understand 'the content or the context' of his tweets.
The professor told AP he was mocking what he called the 'imaginary concept' of white genocide, which he says was invented by white supremacists.
'It is a figment of the racist imagination, it should be mocked, and I'm glad to have mocked it,' he said.
Ciccariello-Maher followed up his initial tweet by praising the 'massacre' of whites in Haiti during the country's slave uprising and revolution more than two centuries ago.
Though his Twitter account is private, he is a prolific tweeter, and his weekend messages spread quickly online.
He said he has received hundreds of death threats. The professor said Drexel's statement 'sends a chilling message.' Sounds like dumb satire to me.

Sarah Michelle Gellar mistakenly heard that Boy George had died last night and tweeted a tribute to the singer, who is really alive and well.
George Michael passed away on Christmas Day and the actress quickly corrected her mistake after fans pointed out the error.
“Do you really want to hurt me? I guess you do 2016,” SMG tweeted on Sunday night. She added the hashtag #ripboygeorge.
“Just as sad when you get the correct information- #ripGeorgeMichael thank you to everyone who corrected me- it’s still so sad. And for the record yes I completely know the difference between Boy George and George Michael – I heard incorrectly. My intentions were good. This is usually why I don’t comment on public matters, but it all seemed so sad on Christmas. Lesson learned,” Sarah tweeted to correct the mistake.

Somebody is trying to take out Britney Spears. A rep for Britney Spears has confirmed the singer is alive after hackers spread word on Twitter that she had died.
Fans were left confused on Monday when Sony Music’s Twitter account posted that the singer had “died by accident”. Bob Dylan, who is also a Sony artist, posted a similar message.
The posts were later deleted and a rep for Spears confirmed that the news was a hoax and that hackers gained access to some of Sony’s accounts.
