Well Damn! Grace Jones trashes just EVERYBODY in her new memoir!
One of music’s original thinkers, Grace Jones, throws a whole lot of shade at her copycats, clones and imitators, in her highly anticipated memoir I’ll Never Write My Memoirs.
“I come from the underground. I am never comfortable in the middle of the stream, flowing in the same direction as everyone else. I think people assume that’s where I want to be, famous for being famous, because as part of what I do there is a high level of showing off. But my instinct is always to resist the pull of the obvious. It’s not easy,” Jones said of her rise to fame.
And while it’s no secret that stars like Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, Madonna, and Rihanna have channeled Jones throughout the years, the 67-year-old icon called them out saying “Trends come along and people say, ‘Follow that trend.’ There’s a lot of that around at the moment: ‘Be like Sasha Fierce. Be like Miley Cyrus. Be like Rihanna. Be like Lady Gaga. Be like Rita Ora and Sia. Be like Madonna.’ I cannot be like them — except to the extent that they are already being like me.”
Don’t assume however, that Jones was ever compensated for her influence. She did it for the excitement. Not the fame. “I have been so copied by those people who have made fortunes that people assume I am that rich. But I did things for the excitement, the dare, the fact that it was new, not for the money, and too many times I was the first, not the beneficiary,” she added.
But don’t call her a diva. “The word is usually used to describe an apparently erratic female whose temperamental qualities, survival instincts, and dedication to perfection are seen as weaknesses, as self-indulgent, not a strength,” she wrote. “… I am not a diva. I am a Jones!” she said in an excerpt published by Time Out.
Jones’ memoir follows on the heels of her performance at Brooklyn’s Afropunk festival, where she rocked the stage topless, in body paint, similar to that of the late prolific pop/graffiti artist Keith Haring. Just another ordinary day for the artist who has pushed boundaries her entire career. We assume her tell-all, due out Sept. 29, will continue to do just that.

Sources tell TMZ Jay Z and Beyonce have to move out of the Holmby Hills estate they have rented since February because the house has been sold.
The source claims Jay and Bey, who have been shelling out $150k a month rent, were not interested in matching the buyer's $35.5 million asking price.

Vivica A. Fox Joins ‘Empire’, Find Out Whose Older Sister The Actress Will Play
Empire has added yet another all star name to the already famous cast.
It’s been confirmed, Vivica A. Fox will join the team and will play the role of Cookie Lyon’s older sister. Now that is a force to be reckoned with.
Executive producer Ilene Chaiken tells Entertainment Weekly exclusively that “Cookie’s other family members are troublesome to say the least.” In case you didn’t tune in for one of the highest rated television shows last season, fans already know that actress, Tasha Smith, plays Cookie’s younger sister.
Per EW, Fox will make her debut in episode 8.

According to The Wrap Clarence Williams III will play influential music mogul, Huey Jarvis, a mentor to Terrence Howard's character Lucious Lyon.
Clarence joins the long list of season 2 guest stars including Chris Rock, Kelly Rowland, Mariah Carey, Ludacris, Lenny Kravitz and Foxy Brown.
Empire is set to premiere on Wednesday, September 23 at 9 p.m. on Fox.

This week, Sam Smith chatted with The Today Show’s Natalie Morales to discuss his excitement on singing the new James Bond theme song for the latest film, “Spectre,” hitting theaters in November. The Grammy Award winning singer also discussed his vocal cord hemorrhage injury that caused him to cancel tour dates and his weight loss journey where he recently lost fifty pounds. Check out a few excerpts from the interview below.
On rescheduling his shows due to his injury and recovery: Sam Smith: It’s been a struggle to get through. I’ve got to plan longer resting breaks in between shows. It’s all feeling good. But I just need to stop writing songs that are too high to sing.
His recent weight loss: Sam Smith: I am not on a diet. My relationship with food has just completely changed, during the process of this album [‘In the Lonely Hour’], I just was getting bigger and bigger and bigger. When someone calls you ‘gay,’ there’s not much you can do about that because I am. Whereas, if someone calls you fat, there is something you can do about that. I went to bed last night dreaming of tuna melts. I love food.
Writing and recording the new James Bond theme song:Sam Smith: It feels very weird to me to be able to do it. It’s been a dream of mine for a long, long time.
What he believes makes his music resonate with people: I decided not to think about, to ignore it because that is when the music is going to lose its soul. That is the key.

DMX Angry At Son For Selling Platinum Records
imageDMX, who remains in jail after failing to pay child support, is hurt over being betrayed by his son who is selling the famed rapper’s platinum records on Ebay.
Xavier, DMX’s son, wants to jump-start his own career in music and he’s figured what better way than by selling his father’s precious platinum plaques. Xavier has posted albums “And Then There Was X” and “Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood” for a total of $3,000!
DMX – who is obviously upset – states that the actions of his son shows that his ungrateful and has no gratitude towards him.
NJ Woman Pleads Guilty To Fatal Penis Enlargement Injection
Yes, killing someone due to a botched penis enlargement will send you to prison. Such is the case of a New Jersey woman who pled guilty to injecting silicone into a man’s schlong and is now looking at five years in the bing for her struggle.
Reports NJ.com:
With jury selection about to start in her trial, Kasia Rivera admitted to delivering the silicone injection that ultimately killed Justin Street, 22, of East Orange, in May 2011.
“You injected the silicone into his penis?” Essex County Assistant Prosecutor William Neafsey asked Rivera during Tuesday’s hearing.
Rivera replied, “Yes.”
In exchange for her guilty plea to reckless manslaughter, prosecutors have agreed to recommend a sentence of five years in state prison. Rivera would have to serve slightly more than four years before becoming eligible for parole.
Superior Court Judge Robert Gardner on Tuesday also reminded Rivera that, as a result of her guilty plea, she could be deported to her native Jamaica.
Rivera’s sentencing is scheduled for October 19.
The kicker is that a couple of Rivera’s other cases were dismissed, one which included charges that she injected silicone into a woman’s buttocks and breasts.
Judge Orders Freddie Gray Trial To Remain In Baltimore
The defense is doing anything they can to tip the scales in the favor of the police officers on trial for the murder of Freddie Gray. However, a Baltimore judge denied a request for a change of venue.
Reports the The Baltimore Sun:
Baltimore Circuit Court judge ruled Thursday morning that the trials of six police officers charged in the arrest and death of Freddie Gray will stay in Baltimore, saying the defense had failed to prove that the officers cannot receive a fair trial in the city.
“The citizens of Baltimore are not monolithic,” Judge Barry Williams said in his ruling. “They think for themselves.”
Williams heard arguments from defense attorneys who said that intense media coverage and this week’s surprise multi-million dollar settlement with Gray’s family, along with fear of future unrest, created an atmosphere in which jurors would be biased.
Prosecutors, however, urged that moving the case before screening potential jurors would be premature.
Williams agreed, saying it was wrong to “assume they cannot be fair” without questioning potential jurors. Williams was unconvinced that media coverage had influenced citizens – at least not any more than residents of other jurisdictions, saying the coverage had been “local, state, national, international.”
It was Judge Williams who ordered that the police officers have separate trials.

Countess Vaughn recently revealed her transformation on her weight loss journey. The "Hollywood Divas" star dished to People.com that she previously underwent liposuction procedure and has also decided to use portion control in her diet.
The former "The Parkers" star spoke candidly on her show "Hollywood Divas" about her past liposuction. She revealed she still fought to lose weight despite having the procedure. She attributed most of the difficulty to a thyroid problem.
But not anymore. Now, she's showing off her new size 10 figure after previously rocking a size 16:
She revealed to PEOPLE magazine:
"I've always been honest about everything. I wanted to do a mommy makeover. I had done it after my oldest child. I really needed to just treat myself, and I'm happy about it!"
Now, it's all starting to pay off now that she's introduced healthy eating:
"I watch what I eat, and I'm into snacking now. I used to just eat maybe once or twice [a day] – breakfast and then dinner, maybe skip lunch. But now I try to snack, have some nuts, have some yogurt."
She continued:
"I've been working out and taking care of me so I can have energy for my kids and work . I put my music on and I just walk for 30 to 45 minutes. I'm very appreciative now that my body is responding to the workouts and the diet, so I just have to keep on moving."
Work!
None of this means she doesn't still have cravings. She said about wanting just one more piece of fried chicken:
"There are still times that I want it, but I have to watch it," says the former "Moesha" star. "Instead of getting three pieces, I'll have one piece and walk away."
