#EMPIRE: Six Times Empire's Lucious Lyon Reminded Us He's Basically the Devil This Season
(H/T TV Guide) We're still in the second season of Empire, which returned in March after a lengthy break, but a lot has happened in these four episodes: Camilla (Naomi Campbell) and Mimi (Marisa Tomei) are gone, Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) is playing peacemaker and Lucious (Terrence Howard) is back to being ruthless in his attempt to gain back control of his record label. In last week's episode, Empire showed us that it's doubling down on family drama--and making Lucious the evil epicenter of it all. His shady factor has been ramped up like, 1,000 percent in the past four episodes--so much so that he may be on his way to becoming one of the most compelling villains on TV today. Here, six moments in this season's second half that lead us to believe he may be Lucifer himself.
1. That time Lucious handed Hakeem (Bryshere Gray) a gun and was like, "If you don't shoot me now, I'll kill you later." It was so gangster, and the ultimate test. Do you think he even had bullets in that gun?
2. When Andre (Trai Byers) finally learned that his mental health issues have a familial precedent--Lucious' mom, to be precise--and he's understandably furious nobody told him. Lucious says, "I was embarrassed by her, the same way I'm embarrassed by you." Damn homie.
3. That time Lucious realized he could use Andre to turn him against his brothers by honing in on the exact thing that would make Andre bend: a visit to the grave of his not-really-dead grandmother. There's a reason they're wearing winter gear in this scene: that ish was cold.
4. That time he just popped up in Camilla's crib, right after she's murdered her wife...
...then drops the double whammy that he saw her commit murder and Hakeem only had sex with her to blackmail her, so, yeah, it's probably best you just go ahead and kill yourself.
And Camilla is all like, "You know, that's not a bad idea. Goodbye cruel world!"
5. Or that other time, when he elaborately sabotaged Hakeem by planting drugs on his group's tour and seized his little clothing line, then casually treated himself to an evening snack while Hakeem was all in his feelings over it...
...And offered her $10 million to give up her baby with Hakeem. When that doesn't work he threatened her, prompting her to respond:
That didn't scare him though, because he came back with, "A lot of women don't survive childbirth." Monster!

Vivian Green is giving us the business in the music video for her latest single, “Grown Folks Music“. Directed by Derek Blanks, the visuals for the upbeat jam are ‘Vivid’ like the title of the feisty songstress’ latest album.
Vivian leads an energetic dance routine while surrounded by a crew of back-up dancers. As the ladies shake their thang, their wardrobe switches between four looks ranging from chic and sexy to casual and ethnic.
Vivian is a temptress as she sings, “So you betta put in that work baby / Make me never wanna get outta bed.” Produced entirely by Kwamé, Vivian describes her last album Vivid as “fresh and spirited, sassy and funny at times. It’s different from my other albums because of the energy; but very much still me.”

New Hip Hop Video: J Dilla feat. Nas – ‘The Sickness’
Long live Dilla. Following the release of his long lost vocal album The Diary, PayJay and Mass Appeal Records have debuted a video for “The Sickness,” J Dilla’s collaboration with Nas.
As Madlib’s head-knocking production bangs, Dilla and Esco appear in the Ruffmercy-directed visual. With artwork splashing across the screen, the two legends show why they’re so revered.
Originally meant to drop back in 2002, The Diary was shelved until this month. The project features additional appearances from Snoop Dogg, Kokane, and Bilal.

Official Whitney Houston Documentary In The Works
Fans who weren’t satisfied with Whitney Houston’s LIFETIME biopic will be happy to know a new documentary about the late singer’s life is in the works. And based on the folks behind the project, it appears it will be worth watching.
According to Deadline, Oscar winning director Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland) is teaming up with Oscar winning producer Simon Chinn (Searching for Sugar Man), producer Johnathan Chinn, and former “Oprah Winfrey Show” executive producer Lisa Erspamer for what is being billed as the official Whitney Houston documentary.
The film will take a revealing look at the life and genius of the global superstar that all we loved. Thankfully, Whitney’s estate has given Kevin Macdonald their blessing to the tell the true story about the iconic singer’s life. The new project will interview many close friends to Whitney, including Clive Davis, the person who discovered Whitney’s incredible talent.
The documentary will be introduced to buyers at Cannes Film Festival which is set to kick off next month with UK rights acquired by Altitude Film Distribution. The documentary will reportedly be released in the UK in 2017. No word on when it’s coming to the States.
There’s also a new documentary project being developed for Showtime that will follow Whitney’s complicated life and career.

OH? Derrick Rose Rape Accuser Does Not Want Identity Revealed in $21 Million Lawsuit
According to thejasminebrand. Derrick Rose’s rape accuser is pleading with the court not to reveal her identity in the $21 million dollar lawsuit she filed, claiming the NBA star and his team would ruin her in the press by labeling her a gold digger & “slut” and it would cause her even more emotional distress following the alleged sexual assault.
Rose was sued earlier this year by a woman – who filed the complaint under Jane Joe – accusing the NBA star and two of his friends of drugging her and then gang raping her inside her apartment.
The woman explained she dated Rose from 2011 to 2013 and during the time she said Rose attempted to pressure her into doing various sexual activities such as masturbating on camera, allowing him to have sex with her friends and demanding she participate in group sex.
Then in August 2013, the woman claimed that Rose and his two friends, Ryan Allen and Randall Hampton, invited her to the NBA star’s L.A. mansion, where she claims someone slipped a drug into her drink, in an attempt to rape her.
She claimed that she escaped the home with a friend but later in the evening Rose and his friends broke into her home and gang raped her while she was knocked out. The woman filed suit and is demanding $21 million dollar in damages.
The NBA star fired back denying all allegations that he raped his ex-girlfriend and said she gave him and his friends consent to have sex.
Rose claimed that the woman was only upset with him due to her not being reimbursed for sex toys used during the night in question. He said that once he started ignoring her texts, she became even angrier with him. Rose demanded the entire suit be thrown out.
The lawsuit is currently in the discovery phase with both sides exchanging documents and taking depositions of the parties involved. Interesting to note , Rose recently demanded the accuser hand over all condoms she kept from the night in question — which she agreed to turn over since she kept the used condoms.
Then on April 26th, the accuser headed to court blasting the NBA star and his legal team for attacking her – the victim – and said their actions were unprofessional and unethical and should not be tolerated by the court.
She says the NBA star has chosen to attack her femininity, morals and character in order to perpetuate incorrect myths about sexual assault. The woman also says that Rose has failed to show why she should have to reveal her name in the lawsuit, something he asked the judge for in the case.
The woman states that if she is forced to reveal her identity then it could prevent other sexual crimes victims from coming forward.
She explains if the court ordered her to be identified it would only further shame, humiliate and embarrass her. Further, the accuser believes the NBA star’s legal team would only use her name being revealed to label her as a slut and gold digger in the press. The woman is demanding the court not order her to reveal her identity and to allow her to continue with the case using Jane Doe.

DEA to Help Investigate Prince's Death as Officials Say Painkillers Were Found in His Possession
NBC reports that the county sheriff investigating his death is now asking the Drug Enforcement Administration to help with the investigation.
Federal law enforcement officials who spoke to NBC did not reveal what part the medications may have played in Prince's death. Officials say the DEA will help determine the origin of the medication and what prescriptions the singer had obtained.
Sources are confirming that Prince once had a history of using the prescription painkiller Percocet.
An autopsy of Prince's body was conducted just one day after he was found unresponsive in an elevator at his famed Paisley Park estate outside Minneapolis. While the medical examiner found "no obvious signs of trauma," toxicology reports may take weeks to complete.
Other sources claim he had also been struggling with an "ongoing illness" at the time of his shocking death – just under one week after his private plane made an emergency landing in Moline, Illinois so that he could be rushed – unresponsive – to the hospital to receive what several reports called a "save shot."
Meanwhile an addiction expert says that prescription painkiller Percocet can be addictive and deadly.
Drugs like Percocet – which is a combination of acetaminophen and oxycodone – are addicting because they can cause "severe euphoria" by stimulating specific "opiate" receptors in the brain, At this point he’s now at PEACE and just let him REST IN PEACE!

Columbus Short Tests Positive For Cocaine While On Probation
Court records show that former “Scandal” actor Columbus Short has tested positive for cocaine and marijuana use and is facing a probation violation in a felony assault case.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Leslie E. Brown received details about the failed drug tests Thursday and ordered the actor to appear at a hearing May 9 to address them. Court officials were unable to provide a copy of Short’s probation report on Tuesday.
Short pleaded no contest to felony assault in September and was sentenced to three years of supervised probation, two months of community labor and anger management counseling. He was charged after he delivered a running punch during a fight at a family gathering in March 2014. The blow knocked a man unconscious, gave him a concussion and fractured his eye socket.
The actor has completed anger management counseling, but has not yet completed the community labor terms of his sentence.
Short’s attorney Ludlow B. Creary II said the actor has previously publicly addressed his drug use and no further comment on it was necessary. Short told Access Hollywood in 2014 that his cocaine use and drinking had caused many of the problems that led to his departure from “Scandal.”
Creary said he hopes Short will “complete his probation, and get on with career.” He added that he believed Short’s legal problems are overblown.
“It’s our belief that Mr. Short is going to continue to make progress,” Creary said.
Short, 33, left “Scandal” after being charged in the assault case and a separate domestic-violence case involving his estranged wife.
The actor was ordered to pay the man he struck, Fenton Hyche III, more than $14,000 in restitution to cover medical bills and lost wages.
Bobbi Kristina Brown suffered miscarriages before her death? Says Nick!
The failed pregnancies of Whitney Houston's troubled daughter had an effect on her months before she was found unconscious in a bathtub in her Georgia home, Gordon told the Mail Online.
"We had a couple of miscarriages," he said. "We would have loved to have a kid but we weren't planning on it yet and she was just such a young fragile person it took a toll on her."
Gordon, 26, discovered the 22-year-old Brown — who suffered from depression before her death — unresponsive in her bathtub last January. She was rushed to the hospital and placed in a medically induced coma until she passed away on July 26.
In the new interview, Gordon said he feels guilty for not finding his longtime girlfriend fast enough to save her life, and blames himself for not getting Brown the rehabilitation she needed.
"I feel like I failed her. She didn't make it. I wish she got help," he said.
Gordon explained he had been out with several of his friends that day before getting into an argument with Brown, who thought he was out with other women.
By the time he arrived to their Alpharetta residence about 30 minutes outside of Atlanta, Brown was already "messed up," according to Gordon.
"I saw a couple of bottles of wine," he said. "I thought she had just been drinking, maybe smoked a little. She was upset, we got into a little argument and then we made up and went upstairs and lay on the bed for about 45 minutes and did what adults do."
Gordon doesn't remember exactly what happened afterward, but he said a cable worker came to the house around 10 a.m. When one of Gordon's friends and the cable employee knocked on the door, Krissy didn't answer. He soon discovered her body in the bathtub, Gordon said.
"I ran to my room and then I saw my girl on the floor," he continued. "It was so traumatizing. I dropped to my knees and kept giving her chest compressions and blowing into her mouth."
He experienced some hope after Brown coughed up water, but she didn't return to consciousness.
"I thought she was going to come round but that never happened."
Last month, a Georgia medical examiner said Brown died from a combination of drug and alcohol use and drowning. The manner of her death, however, is still "undetermined."
Brown's estate believes Gordon is responsible, and claims he drugged her with a "toxic cocktail" before leaving her for dead in a cold tub of water, according to a civil suit that was amended in August.
Gordon's attorneys, meanwhile, maintain he tried to save her.
Gordon will continue to speak about Brown's death in a two-part special on "Dr. Phil" airing Thursday and Friday. In a teaser for the episodes, he says he made the lives of his girlfriend and her late mother very "happy" before their deaths.
"Regardless of what everybody thinks, I made Krissy and Whitney's last few years on earth as happy as they would be," he says in the clip. "I gave them somebody to trust to, to talk to, to be there, someone genuine."
