'Hannibal' Creator Is Helming New 'Star Trek' Series

Strap in, because Star Trek just got interesting again. With a rebooted Star Trek movie that was OK but not special, and a follow up, Star Trek Into Darkness, that was annoyingly bland, it seemed like the franchise might've finally run out of steam, with the leaked trailer for a third movie receiving yawns. That is, until Hannibal and Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller was announced to be taking the helm for a new CBS series.

This is actually a full reboot of the classic series, with Fuller showrunning and Alex Kurtzman (Fringe) executive producing. So far, there is no word about Mads Mikkelsen joining the cast, but in 2013 Fuller made it clear that in the future, he'd like to see a Captain Angela Basset and First Officer Rosario Dawson.

At the very least, we can hope for ridiculously deep conversations about the meaning of it all, right before a Klingon gets his throat ripped out and served for dinner.

That said, Fuller's got a full slate right now, running Neil Gaiman's American Gods series that's set to launch in either late 2016 or early 2017 on STARZ, as well as a remake of the anthology series Amazing Stories, and now with Star Trek premiering in 2017 on CBS before moving to CBS All Access, it's pretty clear that this guy isn't going to get any sleep.

As Fuller's been a Trekkie as well as a writer for Star Trek properties for years, it seems like the franchise is going to be in pretty good hands for at least the near future.

The Atlanta Girls really know how to stir us ish! Especially Ms Kenya! While Kenya seemed to have forgiven Cynthia, she was clearly still holding a grudge against Kim, and when Porsha began commenting about how "sassy" and "high-strung" Chris was, Kenya couldn't help but jump in.

"I know y'all have heard the rumors," she began, prompting all of the women to ask what the rumors were. "They call him Christie!" Kenya announced. "I have been in Hollywood for 20 years. I worked with her when she was on Living Single, honey, and I'm not talking about Three's Company." NeNe thoughtfully noted that Chris had told her he was a "Broadway actor."

Though Sheree didn't add to the conversation, she didn't stop it either, and apparently she had a strong opinion about it. "I don’t think it's right for us to talk about Kim or her husband, and she's not here to defend him," she reasoned to the camera. "If he wants to be with boys on weekends and come back during the week and be a family man, then that is his business."

But Kenya Boo I love uyou and all. But if you’re going to make that kind of an accusation…HAVE PROOF!

New Music from  R. Kelly Releases New Ladies Tribute Anthem “She Deserve”

R. Kelly is here to add to this year’s never ending R&B love fest. King Kellz serves us a lovey-dovey new song that details everything that “She Deserve“.  The record is essentially an instructional manual for lovers who plan on pampering their lady on any day of the year. “She deserve to be honored / She deserve to be catered to / She deserve a vacation just for two,” he croons over the hook.

Yolanda Adams Added to Fox’s Live Musical ‘The Passion’

Fox’s live biblical musical “The Passion” has added Yolanda Adams to the mix.

The gospel diva, and Christian singer/songwriter Michael W. Smith, are the latest to join the two-hour event, to be narrated by Tyler Perry and filmed live from New Orleans on Palm Sunday, with a live audience.

Set in modern times, “The Passion” follows the story of Jesus of Nazareth as he presides over the Last Supper, is betrayed by Judas, put on trial by Pontius Pilate, convicted, crucified and resurrected.

Adams will kick off “The Passion” with a performance, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Smith will play one of Jesus’ disciples.

The duo joins cast members Jencarlos Canela (Jesus Christ), Chris Daughtry (Judas), Prince Royce (the disciple Peter), Seal (Pontius Pilate) and Trisha Yearwood (Mary, the mother of Jesus).

“The Passion” premieres live on Sunday, March 20 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.

Speaking to the TCA Winter Press tour in January, executive producer Mark Bracco explained the logistics of the shoot throughout New Orleans:

It’s our main stage, the main live stage where Tyler will be will be in Woldenberg Park, and then there will be scenes throughout the two hours that are shot at various locations, from the French Quarter to Jackson Square to Audubon Park. In addition to the procession that we are doing – which is the 20 foot illuminated cross where a procession of hundreds of people from all around the country, during the course of the two hours, will carry the cross; which will start outside of the Superdome and make its way through all of the iconic locations to Woldenberg Park – we will be doing interviews with people who have come, telling us the stories of why they’ve come. So we are really throughout the entire city over the two hours.

An Angry Woman Attempts To Shoot Barber Because She Didn't Like Her 'Rihanna Cut'

A lady wants what she wants--and 29-year-old Adrian Blanche Swain made that perfectly clear after attempting to shoot a barber over a failed haircut.

According to WKBW, Swain entered the doors of 619 Barber Shop, located in San Diego, seeking a 'Rihanna-styled' mohawk haircut. A barber by the name of Manny then took the initiative to meet her request, but unfortunately Swain wasn't too pleased with the results.

What led to her frustration, though?  After Swain received her haircut, fellow barbers at the shop reported that she actually seemed quite 'pleased' at first. In fact, she even displayed a very pleasant mood in the beginning. “The woman, when she got up, she tipped him. She actually tipped him an extra 20-bucks. He only charged $24,” barber Joe Cooper said.

Thirty minutes later, Swain reentered the barbershop, only this time, her once 'Rihanna-styled' haircut was much more altered than before. Barber Chris Tatum reported that Swain came back in, highly upset about her hair, and he also noticed that she had dramatically shaven her hair.

Upon her return, Swain pulled out a gun and attempted to open fire a total of three times. Thankfully, the gun malfunctioned, which saved the bullets from escaping from the gun, and also saved lives in the process.

Witnesses held Swain down until authorities arrived and took her in to custody.We are glad no one got hurt.

It is no secret how serious it gets when it comes to us ladies and our hair, but in all actuality, it's never that deep!

Warren Sapp Arrested For Soliciting Prostitute FIRED from NFL Network

The details in the Warren Sapp arrest ...Cops say two women told police they were at the hotel "as escorts" and went to Sapp's room, where an argument broke out over money.

The women claim the argument turned physical and spilled out into the hallway.

Cops say the women had injuries consistent with a struggle.

Officials say when cops questioned Sapp,"he was questioned and admitted involvement in the act of prostitution, but denied assaulting the females."

Both women involved in the incident received citations from police -- one for prostitution, the other for a violation of the City’s escort permit requirements. Both women were released.

Yahner says the women contacted police officers to report the assault. 

The NFL Network has removed Sapp's bio from the official "On-Air Talent" section of the website.

No word if Sapp has been fired from the Network yet ... but as one source puts it, "It's not looking good."

Warren Sapp was arrested in Phoenix this morning for soliciting a prostitute around 7AM  ...

Sapp was also arrested for assault.  We're told Sapp was taken into custody at a hotel in Downtown Phoenix.

The 42-year-old "Dancing with the Stars" alum was booked just a few minutes ago. Sapp was in Phoenix covering the Super Bowl for the NFL Network.

It's not Warren's first arrest -- he was busted in 2010 for domestic battery, but those charges were eventually dropped. He was also arrested for an alleged domestic battery in Miami in 2014.

As we previously reported, officials made it clear before the Super Bowl they would be cracking down on prostitution.

Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Husband Nick Gordon Banned From Visiting Hospital?

Bobbi Kristina Brown, was rushed to hospital after being found submerged face down in a bathtub filled with water at her townhouse in Atlanta, after an apparent suicide attempt. The incident happened almost three years after the legendary singer Whitney Houston died in a tub. Brown was unresponsive when she was pulled from the tub by her husband Nick Gordon and a friend, who began CPR until Roswell police arrived at the scene and took over emergency resuscitation efforts.

The incident, which remains under investigation, comes a week after a TV movie about her mother and two weeks before the three-year anniversary of her mother’s death, which happened on the eve of the 2012 Grammy Awards.

There are unconfirmed reports that Brown and Gordon fought last week, and the police came out to the resident however when they arrived no one was there. Gordon moved out of the home to stay with a friend. Brown reportedly called Gordon from the bathroom to say she was going to take her life.

Hiphopenquirer.com reports exclusively that Brown’s family (Pat Houston) took out a restraining order preventing Gordon from seeing Brown at North Fulton hospital where Brown is in the intensive care unit.

Brown’s distraught father, R&B singer Bobby Brown, 46, arrived at the hospital around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, accompanied by family friend, director/playwright Tyler Perry.

Entertainment Tonight reports that the family will make the decision to release the news of Bobbi Kristina’s death to the public after she is taken off life support.

Katherine Jackson’s New Trial Request Denied by California Court of Appeals

Katherine Jackson, the matriarch of the talented Jackson Family, has lost her appeal request against AEG Live to prove that they were in deed liable in the tragic death of global superstar Michael Jackson.

Katherine Jackson had petitioned the court to revisit the 2013 wrongful death lawsuit where the jury unanimously found that AEG Live was not responsible for superstar Michael Jackson‘s death in 2009. Unfortunately for Jackson and her three grandchildren, Prince, Paris, and Blanket who had originally sued concert promoter AEG Live, in 2010, California’s 2nd District Court of Appeals denied the appeal request.

ABC News reports that the court said in its decision that they were in agreement “with the trial court that Dr. [Conrad] Murray was an independent contractor as a matter of law.” The news outlet also reports additional statements from the decision:

“The evidence fails to establish a triable issue that AEG had the right to control the manner and means of Dr. Murray’s treatment of Michael. AEG never instructed Dr. Murray on how to treat Michael, and no evidence was presented that AEG had the right to control Dr. Murray’s treatment of Michael.”

New York Daily News says the ruling noted the concert promoter had “hired Murray at Jackson’s insistence” and that the lower court’s “jurors seemed to understand the case and did not appear confused by jury instructions or the verdict form.”

At this time, no official statement responding to the court’s decision had been released from Jackson’s attorneys or from Jackson herself.

David Oyelowo DISHES ON Oscar-Snub, Says Hollywood Only CELEBRATES "Subservient" Black Characters

"Selma" star David Oyelowo called out Hollywood during an appearance at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Sunday. When he was asked about his Oscar-snub, David took Hollywood to task, claiming Black actors are only awarded when they play subservient roles.  His full comment:

"We’ve just got to come to the point whereby there isn’t a self-fulfilling prophecy—a notion of who black people are—that feeds into what we are celebrated as, not just in the Academy, but in life generally. We have been slaves, we have been domestic servants, we have been criminals, we have been all of those things. But we have been leaders, we have been kings, we have been those who changed the world.

Those films are so hard to get made. People have often said to me, ‘Why has it taken so long?’ I mean, [King] was assassinated almost 50 years ago. There has been no film where Dr. King has been the center of his own narrative until now. That’s because up until 12 Years A Slave and The Butler did so well, both critically and at the box office, films like this were told through the eyes of white protagonists because there is a fear of white guilt.

So you have a very nice white person who holds black people’s hands through their own narrative. We don’t want to see that pain again, so you don’t even go into what that pain was in an authentic way. Both of those things are patronizing to the audience. You can’t have people curating culture in this way when we need to see things in order to reform from them."

David's comments are shocking...but perhaps Hollywood (and the rest of the viewing public) need a wake-up call. Do you agree with his thoughts on white guilt?

Suge Knight OFFICIALLY Charged With MURDER & Attempted Murder, $2.2 Million Bail REVOKED

It appears Suge Knight could be facing some serious time if he’s convicted of the fatal hit-and-run incident that he allegedly was involved in last week.

Hip Hop mogul Marion “Suge” Knight (above, previous mugshot circa 2008) has officially been charged with murder and attempted premeditated murder after he ran over two men, resulting in the death of his supposed friend/business partner, 55-year-old Terry Carter, and injuring another “friend” named Cle Shaheed "Bone" Sloan.

According to reports, the Death Row founder has also been charged with additional felonies including, hit-and-run resulting in death and hit-and-run resulting in injury.

A little back story….On Thursday around 3PM PST, Suge allegedly rolled up on a promotional shoot for the Straight Outta Compton film when some type of altercation erupted. It resulted in Suge gunning his vehicle, rolling over TWO pedestrians and then speeding away. His lawyer James Blatt claims his client was trying to escape after he was supposedly attacked by the two men.

Witnesses on the scene tell a different story. They believe the hit-and-run was intentional and so does the late victim’s family. Now the prosecutor is following suit based on the evidence. We hear investigators were able to obtain video footage, which captured a portion of what really happened last Thursday.

Friday morning, Suge turned himself in to the L.A. County's Sheriff's Department in West Hollywood and he was accompanied by his attorney.

Hours before his official indictment, his $2.2 million bail was revoked. Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Nicole Nishida revealed to the L.A. Times why his bail was retracted, which include, “possible flight risk, three-strike candidate, possible witness intimidation issues and his criminal past.”

It's reported if he's convicted of these charges, he could possibly face life in prison.

Robin Williams' widow Susan Schneider 'fights his three children over personal property left in the late comedian's will'

Robin Williams' widow Susan Schneider has filed a lawsuit against the late comedian's three children in a fight over property left in his will, TMZ report.

The site reports that Schneider has filed legal documents complaining someone entered the house she shared with Williams days after his death - following his tragic suicide in August last year - and removed belongings that she felt entitled to.

The New York Times have reported that the court documents were filed in December and January in a bitter legal dispute over his estate. 

She is also said to have revealed that once she started legal proceedings, 'certain home-related services were canceled' including a newspaper delivery.

However, TMZ report that his children Zak, 31, Zelda, 25, and Cody Williams, 22, tell a different story and have accused Schneider of attempting to 'money grab' and ignore the 'plain language of his will and trust'.

Sources tell the site that his children believe Schneider is trying to 'redefine' aspects of the will to suit her, despite Williams being clear in his will that he left behind most of his property to his children.

Some of the items left to the three children include his 1998 Oscar for the movie Good Will Hunting as well as other memorabilia from his films.

After two failed marriages which reportedly cost him $30 million, Williams ensured that he and his third wife Schneider signed a prenup agreement, and is not certain if she will continue to reside in the home they shared together.

Sources tell TMZ that his children acknowledge Schneider has the right to keep items that she accumulated with Williams during their marriage, but believe she is trying to alter some of the terms listed in the will.

According to the site, they claim she is trying to 'redefine the word jewelry' to keep a watch that belonged to Williams.

The report in The New York Times revealed that Schneider's papers assert as she lost 'her husband through a shocking and emotionally charged event,' she had not been 'given time to grieve her loss free from the frenetic efforts to interfere with her domestic tranquillity.'

Jennifer Lopez lists her NINE bedroom $17m mansion that is in the same Hidden Hills community as Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner

Her sprawling white mansion with scenic views in Hidden Hills was one of the finest in the area and her neighbors weren't too bad either - Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner lived down the street in separate properties.

But Variety reported over the weekend that Jennifer Lopez wants to sell her $17m mansion that includes nine bedrooms and 13 bathrooms.

'She felt it was too far from where the studios are. To go to the set of American Idol is like an hour drive. It just became too much.'

It is not known where the 45-year-old The Boy Next Door beauty will move to, but in the past she has lived in Beverly Hills.

The property - which was purchased in 2009 for $8.2m - sits on over three acres and has stunning views of the valley below and the LA cityscape.

The 17,129-square-foot mansion was built in 1993 and is a Traditional style.

The home was featured in a recent photo shoot with People magazine where J-Lo posed with her children Max and Emme, and her two dogs. It was also shown off in Veranda magazine in 2011.

There is a separate wing for work or entertaining.

Inside the main part of the mansion are formal and informal living rooms, a dining room that can seat 12 and a master suite with a sitting area and private balcony.

The mansion has a recording studio, a dance studio/gym, a 20-seat theater, a saloon/lounge with a bar and nanny’s quarters.

Ginuwine Scores Legal Victory Against Ex-Manager, Judge Throws Out $250K Lawsuit Against Singer

Ginuwine (real name Elgin Baylor Lumpkin) scored a huge legal victory against his ex-manager with a federal court judge siding with the singer and throwing out the $250K lawsuit filed against him,

Music producer Robert Reives reportedly filed a federal lawsuit against the singer – accusing him of screwing him out of over $250K in royalties for his debut album, “The Bachelor“.

Reives claimed that Ginuwine signed a $1.25 mil deal with Sony and he was to be paid commission on the deal for him. Ginuwine blasted his former producer claiming he wasn’t owed anything and had

been paid in full. The singer’s legal team also informed the court that Ginuwine was on the verge of bankruptcy following his divorce and he owed hundreds of thousands in taxes.

On January 20th, the federal court judge came back with his decision.

The order stated the evidence presented showed that the management agreement in which Reives claims he is owed the royalties on was mutually abandoned by both parties back in 1996.

The judge notes that Ginuwine became frustrated with Reives following the release of his debut album and he believed he was unprofessional. According to the singers deposition he had his label pay a 1% royalty on his album to Reives — to essentially end the relationship and pay him out. Following the payment, the two agreed to end their working relationship and Ginuwine hired a new manager … who helped him negotiate a new more profitable deal with his label. The judge says that upon learning the singer had hired a new manager , Reives never raised any issues or took the singer to court.

The order dismissed the entire lawsuit against Ginuwine – claiming his ex-manager is not owed anything. He also awarded the singer attorney fees for having to defend himself in the case.
