Alleged Step Sister of Michael & Janet Jackson is writing a TELL ALL! 👀

Joe Jackson’s alleged secret child, JonVonnie Jackson, is speaking out. This week, she announced that she’s writing an autobiography. Sharing a photo of her with Joe Jackson, she wrote:

"My Mother is Cheryle Terrell. My Father is Joseph Jackson. This is my autobiography."

Back in 2009, she made similar claims, remaining adamant that she was the secret sister to Michael Jackson and the other famous siblings. She stated that she never got to meet Michael until she was 29 and was not allowed to attend the late singer’s funeral. She said:

"I feel rejected by some of my family. It’s upsetting and hurtful."

JohVonnie says she was born in 1974 and is the product of a 25-year affair between Jackson family patriarch Joe and her mother Cheryle Terrell. She claims that Joe would visit them frequently and shower his love child with gifts. In her early 20s, JohVonnie says they even moved in with Joe in Las Vegas when he lived away from the family home. She says that Joe’s wife Katherine knew of the affair but her devotion to the Jehovah’s Witness faith led her to forgive him and accept JohVonnie.

La Toya Jackson allegedly claimed in her memoirs Growing Up In The Jackson Family that Katherine referred to JohVonnie as a “bastard child”.

JohVonnie says she is also “ very, very close” to Rebbie. However, her relationship with the rest of her famous brothers and sisters is very different. She said:

"I met Janet when I was 15. I saw her that one time and it was clear she never wanted to have a relationship with me. I couldn’t really understand why. She was staring at me and checking me out and as soon as she heard me call Joseph ‘Daddy’, she switched off, turned her back and never spoke to me again."

For years JohVonnie looked up to her famous siblings and even went to dozens of Janet and Michael’s shows – but could never talk to them.

"Through Daddy I would get tickets to all the concerts. I was amazed at Michael’s talent. I remember thinking as a little girl, ‘He looked at me, he saw me’. I would sometimes go to see them back stage but I could never get to talk to them. You could not get close at all. It was frustrating. I also didn’t have any access to telephone numbers. I didn’t want to go through my father’s things and it wasn’t really something that was talked about."

No addition details about her book have yet been released.

Alfre Woodard, Laverne Cox, Nicole Beharie, & Danai Gurira Cover Essence Magazine

People are always saying they would love to see some new faces on the cover of magazines, and Essence magazine has heard their cry loud and clear. For their 2014 October issue, Essence is giving nods to the shift going on in black Hollywood by featuring new rising stars including Laverne Cox (from Emmy-nominated series Orange is the New Black), Nicole Beharie (Sleepy Hollow), and Danai Gurira (The Walking Dead).  They also round out the cover with veteran actress Alfre Woodard (State of Affairs), calling them “Channel Changers.”

Inside, the four ladies talk about television being more diverse and how women of color are storming networks because of talent and persistence.

Catch what they had to say below:

Danai: “It is a golden age. because we’re allowed to see that more people are given a voice, and that is a beautiful thing. We know when there’s been a dearth of this type of diversity. I remember watching Orange and feeling as if something new was happening.”

Laverne: “People are watching television in a different way. I’ve been acting for a very long time and not getting very far, and I would say we needed some sort of systemic revolutionary change for me to have an acting career.”

Alfre: “Is it the golden age, daughters? I want you all to believe: We’re not here because somebody suddenly said, ‘Let’s have some women of color [on TV].’ We’re here because we’re brilliant at what we do. We’re persistent. You could put us at the bottom of the ocean and we’d still come to the top.”

With shows like Scandal making history and pulling in millions of viewers every episode, and proving that America is ready to see more diversity on their favorite shows, it’s going to be amazing to sit back and see more black actresses snag leading roles on television.

Friends claim Joe Jackson is scrounging to make a living and feels betrayed by his family…

According to Page Six [Joe Jackson] feels betrayed by children who shun him and ignore him in his time of need, his associates say.

While Katherine receives more than $1 million annually from Michael Jackson’s estate, Joseph was completely left out of his son’s will. Since Michael’s death, he has scrounged for cash, once even selling perfume at a Las Vegas strip mall. But even that venture soon went south.

Because the perfume line contained his late son’s image, the mall shut down the operation until Joe Jackson could provide proof he had the legal right to sell products. He never did.

“There’d be no Jackson Five, no Michael, no Janet without him,” said a friend of the Jackson patriarch. “He shouldn’t have to call any of them. They should have enough respect and feel an obligation to come out and see how he’s doing. The man did have a series of strokes — and whatever it is that they are holding against him, they need to get over it.”

Bobbi Kristina’s Husband Nick Gordon Arrested For DUI

Bobbi Kristina‘s husband, Nick Gordon, was arrested for DUI on Thursday – TMZ reports.

Law enforcement sources in Roswell, GA say that after losing control of his BMW, Nick hit a curb and then flew into a fire hydrant. The car flipped upside down, and finally came to a rest after sliding about 200 feet.

When police arrived on scene, it was discovered that Nick was driving on a suspended license, and cops felt that his behavior gave them probable cause to arrest him for DUI.

TMZ is told that police did not conduct a breathalyzer test - but are seeking a warrant for a blood test.

Jay Z & Beyonce HUGGED UP At The 2014 Budweiser Made in America Festival

With only a few days left until the end their "OTR" tour in Paris, (September 12th & September 13th), Jay Z and Beyonce looked very much like a happily wed couple at the day two of the 2014 Budweiser Made in America Festival at the Los Angeles Grand Park.

They partied the night away during a event sponsored by American Eagle Outfitters and watched Kanye West perform from the comfort of the VIP area.  Sharings a few laughs and caressing throughout the night, Beyonce re-created her "Drunk In Love" love with short and wavy curls.

Founded by Jay Z in 2012, the two-day concert, held simultaneously with a sister show in Philadelphia, also featured Pharrell, Iggy Azalea and Rita Ora, and Kendrick Lamar among the acts.

It looks like Mama Tina Knowles did know best when she told us that Bey and Jay's marriage is "perfect."

HBO will film Bey and Jay's final "OTR" date in Paris on Sept 12th and Sept 13th before airing them as a concert special on September 20th.

And guests were treated to parting keepsakes complete with mini red velvet and chocolate cakes, a little moonshine, umbrellas, bow ties and a church fan. It mimicked a scene from the film The Color Purple. A choir sang a song from the movie, “God Is Trying To Tell You Something” as they walked into the reception.

As the LudaDay Weekend 2014 continued, Ludacris hosted his annual celebrity basketball game at the Georgia State University Sports Arena in Atlanta.

Toya Wright, Keshia Knight Pulliam, LeToya Luckett, Monyetta Shaw, Rasheeda, Eudoxie and more, came out to watch Team Luda take on Team YMCMB. The ladies, who all rock’d their heels, smiled for the camera while posing courtside.

Romance was definitely in the air this weekend, as Ashlee Simpson tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend Evan Ross on Sunday (August 31).

According to E! News, the “Pieces of Me” songstress said “I Do” with her handsome beau at his mom Diana Ross’ massive estate in Greenwich, Connecticut and her five-year-old son Bronx walked her down the aisle.

An eyewitness shared, 'The bride wore her hair down in beachy waves, and her groom sported a black velvet tux with a white silk trim.”

Of course, Ashlee’s sister Jessica Simpson served as maid of honor, while Jess’ daughter Maxwell and son Ace handled the flower girl and ring bearer duties.

Also, Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg just got hitched on Sunday (August 31).

According to a report, the New Kids on the Block singer and his “Singled Out” bride said “I Do” at the historic Hotel Baker in St. Charles, Illinois (near McCarthy’s hometown Chicago) in front of guests that included Sherri Shepard, Joey McIntyre, Jordan Knight, Jonathan Knight and Donny Wood.

Unfortunately, Donnie’s brother Mark Wahlberg didn’t make it to the event, as his daughter Ella’s 11th birthday party conflicted with the date.

The “Italian Job” hunk sent a sweet video, though- "I love you, Donnie, we're very happy for you. Sorry we couldn't be there, we'll see you soon."

As for the bride’s apparel, Jenny picked up her dress at Bergdorf Goodman and looked stunning. She previously told People that she didn’t necessarily need a crazy fancy fete- "I could get married in Kentucky Fried Chicken. I don't care as long as the heart is in the ceremony."

Phobia: an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something. Some people fear spiders, others fear Black people. The term used by TIME magazine is called “negrophobia.”

Demonstrators protest the shooting death of teenager Michael Brown

The latest eye-brow raising Journalism bit suggests that the deaths of Eric Garner, Michael Brown and the many Black men who’ve died (in similar circumstances) before and after are a result of an irrational fear. But the controversial “negrophobia” term is problematic on so many levels and raises several questions.

Where are the medical diagnostics? Is it not contentious to reintroduce the term “negro” to present day lexicon? By using the word “phobia” are we not being asked to have sympathy toward racists and bigots?

The article written by Brandon Hill, a Political Science and African & African American Studies major at Stanford University,  ends on a solid note. Everything before it is a conversation about racism without using the term “racism.”

Dwyane Wade Covers ESPN’s Money Issue

Dwyane Wade graces the cover of ESPN  magazine’s “Money Issue.” Within this issue ESPN will discuss the balance of sports power shifting toward China as they focus on Wade’s sneaker deal with Li-Ning.

Dwyane’s sneakers have been creating a lot of buzz after the bold switch to Li-Ning then they did when at Jordan Brand. Stepping away from the Jordan brand could have been a great move for him……. The magazine will hit newsstands this Friday.

NY Knicks sign Lamar Odom

The New York Knicks have signed former NBA champion Lamar Odom, who was out of the league this season.

The move gives new president Phil Jackson an offseason to look at the versatile forward who thrived in his system. Odom helped the Los Angeles Lakers win NBA titles in 2009 and 2010, and was the Sixth Man of the Year in 2011, Jackson's final season as coach.

But Odom has never captured that success again. He last played in the NBA with the Clippers in 2012-13, averaging 4.0 points in about 20 minutes per game, and appeared in two games for a team in Spain this season.

Musiq Soulchild performs at Live on the Park

Shanti Das and Marlon Nichols kicked off the 5th season of ATL Live on the Park at Park Tavern, with the best season opener yet! The refreshing show that highlights the best in new and classic R&B artists made a return that could not be ignored. Guest host Tai Boogie – the Wild Afrikan, the new houseband, Quinn and Jukebox and DJ Trauma rocked a packed-out crowd through a night full of stellar performances by newcomer Kameron Corvet, R&B sensation Noel Gourdin, and headliner, “Lil John” Roberts, with a handful of special guests including Musiq Soulchild.

ATL Live on the Park is sponsored by Gentleman Jack, The W-Hotel Midtown and Belvedere Vodka. New artist, Maclyn Lucille, winner of the social media audition campaign, opened the show with an impressive rendition of Deborah Cox’s “Nobody’s Supposed to be Here.” Lucille wowed listeners with her outstanding vocals and received a grand applause from the audience of influentials including R&B singer, Algebra. Kameron Corvet took to the stage next with only his guitar for an amazing acoustic set. He swooned the audience with his Miguel-like vocals during his songs, “I Miss the Way” and “Lead Me to You”. After Corvet, the party continued as DJ Trauma kept Park Tavern jamming with the best old school jams and Atlanta classics.

 Next, Noel Gourdin hit the stage toasting to life and performing his hit songs “Beautiful” and “The River” along with the single “Heaven Knows” – a jazzy ode to a woman that stays by her man’s side after dealing with what only “Heaven knows” – off his latest album “City Heart, Southern Soul.” Shanti and Marlon saved the best for last as internationally-known drummer “Lil John” Roberts and his many guests performed a stunning set as the finale for the night. Roberts opened his performance by introducing his notable band that included top musician, Tomi Martin on guitar. He went on to perform three songs from his new album, “The Heartbeat”. “Get Right” a rap track featuring the raw and talented Saroc the MC, and “Grand Scheme” a ballad featuring Byron Sowell’s powerful vocals, warmed up the audience. Last, but surely not least, Roberts performed “It’s Your Time” featuring Chantae Cann and surprise special guest, Musiq Soulchild. The crowd rushed to the stage at the sight of the R&B legend and thoroughly enjoyed the smooth sounds of Soulchild’s voice intertwined with the sultry vocals of Chantae Cann. After “It’s Your Time”, “Lil John” Roberts, encouraged by host Tai Boogie and a hype crowd, then began to play Soulchild’s classic hit, “Girlfriend” which led to a live impromptu performance by Musiq Soulchild.

This wrapped up the season opener with the crowd excited and ready for the next month’s performances. All the artists thanked Shanti Das for the opportunity presented from ATL Live on the Park, and she in return encouraged the crowd to appreciate these artists by continuing to “support black music.”

POOR KATHERINE JACKSON: Judge Orders Katherine Jackson to Pay AEG

Last year Katherine Jackson lost her $40 billion civil suit against concert promoter AEG after suing them for negligence in hiring Dr. Conrad Murray, who was convicted of manslaughter in the death of her son Michael Jackson.

Now a judge wants Ms. Katherine to pay AEG's court costs…

According to reports Superior Court Judge Yvette Palazuelos issued a tentative ruling against Katherine Jackson ordering her to pay AEG $800k to cover their court costs.

AEG originally sought $1.2 million.Both sides have agreed not to fight the ruling.

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Drops The Term ‘She-Male’ Following Controversy

Logo has made the decision to remove the segment, “You’ve Got She-Mail” along with the term “she-male” from RuPaul’s Drag Race.

The decision comes after the show featured a challenge called “Female or She-Male” and trans advocates protested the use of the phrase citing it as hurtful and transphobic.

As the Huffington Post reports, the controversy emerged after a March 17 mini-challenge called “Female or She-Male” presented current Drag Race contestants with cropped photos and tasked them with guessing whether the person pictured was biologically born female or was a past Drag Racer. This sparked criticism over the use of the word “she-male,” which many members of the transgender community believe carries violent and/or discriminatory connotations.

As a result of the protest, Logo issued a statement “thank[ing] the community for sharing their concerns.” Further, the network announced that it has expunged the “She-Male” challenge from all platforms and will eliminate the “You’ve Got She-Mail” segment for future episodes. A representative for Logo added, “We did not intend to cause any offense, but in retrospect we realize that it was insensitive. We sincerely apologize.”

Maya Rudolph Returns to NBC with a Variety Show

Hoping to make audiences laugh again after her successful stint on "Saturday Night Live," Maya Rudolph is working on a new variety special.

Called "The Maya Rudolph Show," the one-hour special will be produced by her old boss Lorne Michaels.

At her side will be Raphael Saaddiq as the band leader with Janelle Monáe on board as the show's musical guest.

Some familiar faces will also appear in the show, including Andy Samberg, Fred Armisen, Kristen Bell, Chris Parnell, Craig Robinson, and Sean Hayes. "The Maya Rudolph Show" airs May 19th at 10:00pm on NBC.

Album Cover: The Roots – ‘…and then you shoot your cousin’

The worlds of art and hip-hop collide on the cover of The Roots’ upcoming album …and then you shoot your cousin. The artwork features a reproduction of Romare Bearden’s 1964 mixed media collage “Pittsburgh Memory.”

The project, whose title was inspired by KRS-One, arrives May 19 featuring the single “When the People Cheer,” which debuted last week.

In between their nightly appearances on “The Tonight Show,” The Roots will play Hot 97′s Summer Jam with some friends on June 1.

Paul Walker's brothers confirmed  to 'fill in gaps in production' as cast resume filming Fast & Furious 7 in Abu Dhabi

His legacy lives on: The remainder of Paul Walker's Fast & Furious 7 scenes will be filmed by brothers Cody and Caleb, it has been confirmed

When Paul Walker died suddenly and tragically in a car crash on November 30, the producers of the Fast & Furious franchise were thrown into a tailspin as they figured out the best way to deal with the impact it would have on the seventh instalment they were halfway through filming.

While production went on indefinite hiatus as they scrambled to come up with a suitable solution that would both honour the late star and satisfy fans, filming recently resumed after it was decided that Paul would have wanted to see the project through to completion.

We revealed that the actor's lookalike younger brother, Cody Walker, had been asked to step in and help complete the film that was so close to his sibling's heart, and producers have today released a statement confirming that both Cody, 25, and older brother Caleb, 36, will play vital roles in the seventh movie in the hit franchise.

In a statement released on the film's Facebook page, fans were introduced to the newest members of the Fast & Furious 'family'.

'The FAST & FURIOUS saga is about family. The characters are connected by the bond of family, and it is how all of us who have worked together for more than thirteen years feel about each other,' the statement begins. 'It certainly defines how we feel about our fans.

'Our family experienced an unthinkable shock in November. We had to take time to grieve Paul, the brother we love and lost, and to figure out if we should move on with our film.'

It goes on to state that after 'coming together' to grieve the loss, it was decided by everyone involved that 'the only choice was to continue' filming, adding: 'We believe our fans want that, and we believe Paul would want that too.'

While the 40-year-old had already completed 'his dramatic scenes and most of his action' - which the producers cite as being 'among the strongest work of his career' - his brothers have been brought in to 'fill in small gaps left in production'.

Kim Kardashian warns sister Khloe to be careful about dating rapper French Montana.

From her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries to her sex tape with Ray J, Kim Kardashian's relationship history is far from exemplary.

But as the 33-year-old prepares to wed her third husband it seems she feels qualified to advise her younger sister Khloe on affairs of the heart - warning her to 'be careful' with her new beau, rapper French Montana.

According to a new report Kim has taken on the role of concerned older sister after newly separated Khloe was spotted out to dinner with French three times in the last four days.

A source told Radar Online: 'Kim is telling Khloe that she should be really careful with French after everything she just went through with Lamar.'

While Khloe, 29, is newly separated after the end of her marriage, 29-year-old Moroccan-born French also has a complicated romantic history.

He remains married to estranged wife Deen Kharbouch, with whom he has a four-year-old son.
