Canada’s President Justin Trudeau is on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine!

Rolling Stone prefers Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over Donald Trump and isn’t shy about it with a new cover story headlined, “Why can’t he be our president?”

The feature refers to Trudeau as the “North Star” and says he “was raised in jet-set privilege but overcame tragedy to become Canada’s prime minister.”

Reporter Stephen Rodrick asks, “Is he the free world’s best hope?” He seems to feel the answer is yes, according to the cover story. You can read that HERE!

#RHoA: NeNe Leakes Throws A “Gurls And Gays” Party 

NeNe Leakes threw a party this weekend with a theme I don’t understand. At all. The concept appeared to be wear white, bring a gay guy friend, come over to gush over NeNe’s newish multi-million dollar home, and in some cases, get thrown out for assaulting another guest. Anyway, the official title was “Gurls & Gays” but the official hashtag was “NeNeNeverForget”.

I believe this is NeNe’s first “event” since rejoining Real Housewives Of Atlanta, and she also got to show off her home in the process. Since homes are the source of such contentions in this group! Most of the cast attended – including Kim Zolciak who embroiled Kenya Moore in some mighty Wigs-N-Cigs drama!

Porsha Williams was absent because, if you recall, NeNe wants her fired from the show. Kandi Burruss also wasn’t there, because she was in Kenya attending Shamea Morton‘s wedding. Bizarrely Marlo Hampton attended – apparently she and NeNe are fast-frenemies again, which probably means we can expect to see her in a ‘friend’ role again this season. And even more surprisingly Lisa Wu-Hartwell showed up to this little reunion!

Also present were a couple other ladies RHOA is ‘testing’ as potential cast members.

#EMPIRE: Taraji P Henson: Cookie Lyon won’t be around FOREVER!

While we wait in anticipation for ‘EMPIRE’ Season 4, that doesn’t mean the show can go on forever — well, at least according to star Taraji P. Henson.

“I could not do this forever. No. Cookie wears me out!” Henson exclaims during a recent interview with Variety. “She drains me,” the actress adds with a laugh. “She is emotionally all over the place. Those writers, they just keep pushing my emotions with every episode. By the 18th episode [of each season], I’m dead. I got to get far away. I don’t wear animal print. I cut my hair into a bob. I don’t wear a weave because I’ve got to get as far away from Cookie as possible.”

When asked if she has a number of seasons in mind she’d like “Empire” to stay on the air, Henson quips, “Once it’s syndicated — and then I’m like, ‘Thank you. Goodnight!’”

“I learned this from the women of ‘Sex and the City’ — you’ve got to know when to go out. You don’t want to overstay your welcome. You want to go out on a high. You want to be remembered as the number one show on network,” Henson adds. “I’m going to lose my passion, I know me. And Cookie is enough. I can’t do that for so long.”

While playing Cookie is an emotionally taxing role, Henson wasn’t always confident that her erratic character would resonate with audiences. When she first read the script for “Empire,” she says, she was “scared to death.”

“I thought people would hate her,” Henson admits. “Because of the things that she says, it was very risky, because that’s a character that if it’s not handled correctly, it would turn the audience off.”

Henson could have never imagined the success “Empire” would become — many would say, in large part thanks to her Emmy-nominated and Golden Globe-winning performance as Cookie — but she originally signed onto the Fox pilot because the character frightened her.

“Any role that scares me is a challenge and I don’t back away from challenges. That’s how I pick roles — if it scares me, I have to do it,” she explains. “Cookie scared me a bit and the challenge was, how do I make the audience connect and feel and empathize for her? Once I did that work, I was like, OK, people are either going to love her or hate her. Thank God it worked. Phew!”

#MUSICNEWS: Mariah Carey Announces Christmas Movie Single, ‘The Star,’ Shares Trailer

Get ready to celebrate another Christmas season with Mariah Carey. Already crowned the “Queen of Christmas”, Carey will be delivering a brand new holiday song to our ears this year, as the title track to the upcoming animated film, The Star.

Scheduled to hit theaters this holiday season, the animated movie is a new, family-ready comedic story about the first Christmas ever. It will feature the voices of Steven Yeun, Gina Rodriguez, Zachary Levi, Keegan-Michael Key, Anthony Anderson, Kelly Clarkson, Oprah Winfrey, Tracy Morgan, and Tyler Perry.

The “All I Want for Christmas” songstress premiered the forthcoming film’s trailer today (July 26). “I’m so excited to share the trailer for the new movie The Star,” she said in the clip. The trailer is soundtracked by a cover of Stevie Wonder’s “What Christmas Means to Me.”

This holiday season, Mariah is also set to narrate an animated film based on her holiday classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” She is also currently developing a drama series based on her life and readying a new album through her recently-announced Butterfly MC Records label.

If that wasn’t enough, the queen of Christmas will also celebrate the holiday season with fans at her annual “All I Want for Christmas Is You” concerts, which are set to take place at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas from Dec. 14-22.

But first, the pop diva can be seen alongside Lionel Richie on the “All the Hits” tour, which runs through Oct. 14.

JAY-Z and Kanye West’s friendship and fallout will be the focus of “Public Enemies,” a new television special about the rap rivals.

The documentary, which will air on Britain’s Channel 4 network, will feature “unseen footage and unheard testimonies.”

DJ Clark Kent, the legendary producer who’s worked with Hov since his debut album Reasonable Doubt, comments on the differences between JAY and ‘Ye in the preview. “One is a New York street dude,” he says. “The other dude is a mama’s boy from Chicago.”

Touré, a longtime music journalist, adds: “JAY-Z is very thoughtful about money. Kanye is spend-it-all, art-comes-first.”

Jigga and Yeezy went from being frequent collaborators to rivals. Last year, Kanye blasted Hov onstage for ignoring his requests for a conversation. “Jay Z, call me,” he said. “You still ain’t called me. Jay Z, I know you got killers. Please don’t send them at my head. Please call me. Talk to me like a man.” At around the same time, he also criticized Beyoncé for alleged award show ultimatums.

This year, JAY referenced the onstage outbursts on 4:44’s “Kill Jay Z.” “You got hurt because you did cool by ‘Ye,” he raps. “You gave him 20 million without blinkin’ / He gave you 20 minutes on stage, fuck was he thinkin’?”

“Public Enemies: JAY-Z vs. Kanye” airs Monday (July 31) at 10 p.m. on Channel 4.

Jeff Bezos is the richest person in the world

Jeff Bezos just became the world’s richest person.

A surge in shares of Amazon early Thursday — coupled with a slight dip in Microsoft shares — helped Amazon’s 53-year-old founder vault past Bill Gates to top the world’s wealthiest list for the first time.

Shares of the online retailer rose 1.8 percent to $1,071.31 as of 9:30 a.m. in New York, giving Bezos, who owns about 17 percent of the e-commerce giant, a net worth of more than $90 billion, surpassing Gates’ $89 billion.

Gates, 61, has held the top spot since May 2013, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires index.

Nevertheless, Bezos looks poised to extend his lead over Gates in the coming months, with stock analyst James Cakmak predicting that Amazon shares could double to $2,000 if its recent acquisition of Whole Foods is approved by regulators.

That would make Amazon “the first trillion-dollar company,” Cakmak told CNBC Thursday. Indeed, Amazon’s market capitalization surpassed the $500 billion mark for the first time Wednesday, putting it in fourth place behind No. 1-ranked Apple, No. 2-ranked Google and No. 3-ranked Microsoft.

Earlier this year, Bezos surpassed Warren Buffett to take the No. 2 spot among the world’s richest. As of this week, Buffett was ranked fourth, just behind Spanish clothing tycoon Amancio Ortega Gaona. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is currently the world’s fifth-richest, according to Bloomberg.

Shares of Seattle-based Amazon have gained 40 percent this year, adding $24 billion to Bezos’ net worth as the online behemoth continues to steal business from retailers and fellow web-based sellers of everything from books to appliances to streaming movies and music.

Bezos, who started Amazon 22 years ago selling books out of a garage, currently owns about 80 million shares of the company.

Amazon is slated to report its second-quarter earnings after the bell Thursday, and better-than-expected results could solidify Bezos’ top spot among the world’s billionaires.

Unlike Gates, Bezos hasn’t been big on philanthropy despite his riches, instead spending much of his personal wealth and free time on his space exploration company, Blue Origin.

Kim Kardashian's Surrogate Is Three Months Pregnant

Here comes baby! Kim Kardashian has long been vocal about her desire for a big family — and now that family's growing.

In June, the 36-year old and husband, Kanye West began looking for a surrogate, and a source now tells Us Weekly they have cause to celebrate: Their pick — a San Diego mom in her late 20s, referred by an agency — is three months along, which means they’ll likely welcome baby No. 3 in January 2018.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and rapper, 40, are in experienced hands, as the woman has reportedly served as a surrogate before, even appearing in a promotional video about the process with her own family.

The parents to North, 4, and Saint, 19 months, have agreed to pay $45,000 in 10 monthly installments of $4,500, according to a TMZ report. In the case of multiples, Kardashian and West will fork over $5,000 per additional child. This is all in addition to the whopping $68,850 deposit given to the agency.

Other stipulations in the contract focus on the surrogate's wellness habits. Among the fairly standard expectant-mom guidelines are no drinking, smoking or drug use; no hot tubs or saunas; no raw fish; and no handling cat litter.

As Kardashian told Ellen DeGeneres back in 2014, "I have so many siblings and I love it, they're my best friends and I would love that for my kids.” But two pregnancies plagued by placenta accreta, a potentially life-threatening condition, have forced her and West to consider alternative options, rather than enduring another high-risk situation.

#BLACKHOLLYWOOD: Will Packer And Oprah Winfrey Are in line To Dominate Hollywood

Will Packer and Oprah Winfrey are once again taking Hollywood by storm.

It was just announced that Packer, the director behind several major grossing films, including this weekend’s record breaking comedy Girls Trip, will be starting a new production company.

Packer’s new venture will be backed by Discovery Communications and Universal Pictures, but its Oprah’s entity OWN that has first refusal.

Under the first-look deal, OWN gets first pick of all scripted and unscripted television shows Packer produces. If they refuse, then Will can pitch to other networks.

“When you look at just the landscape of television content, every morning you wake up, there’s another outlet that has content going out to the same viewers,” said Erik Logan, president of OWN. “When you can strike first-look deals with a talent like Will Packer, what that affords you is the ability to look at what he’s creating before it goes out to the masses.”

Packer will not only produce television series, but he will also tap into advertising campaigns, short form content on a digital platform and ad campaigns for branded clients.

“This gives me the ability to tell a story the way that story should be told,” Will recently said. “I don’t have to look at it as one particular type of content for one particular medium.”

Houston Rapper Z-Ro Arrested For Beating Girlfriend Just Brittany For Nearly Two Hours

Houston rap legend Z-Ro, real name Joseph McVey, has been arrested stemming from a domestic abuse incident that occurred in April.  The news breaks as his girlfriend, rapper Just Brittany, makes her reality TV debut on VH1’s new series, “Signed.”

Over the weekend,  Just Brittany informed authorities that on April 29, she had been assaulted by Z-Ro after the two got into an argument over canceled dinner plans. Court documents say that Joseph McVey allegedly slapped, punched and dragged Brittany for about an hour and a half.  She provided a 21-minute recording of a portion of the assault to police as evidence.

In the video, which Brittany reportedly started recording midway through the assault, McVey, 40, could be heard saying “You’re dead.” Brittany could also be heard saying, “Why did you push me?” and “Get your f*ckin hands from around my neck.” Brittany told investigators that she was in fear of her life during the assault.

Police turned the information over to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, who in turn, determined there was enough to arrest the rapper and charge him with felony aggravated assault.

McVey is currently being held without bond.

Quincy Jones wins lawsuit against Michael Jackson’s Estate for 9.4. Million Dollars!

A jury says Michael Jackson’s estate owes Quincy Jones $9.4 million! The legendary producer is entitled to the amount in royalties and production fees from “Billie Jean,” ?Thriller” and other hits that he made for the late singer.

The award is less than the $30 million Jones sought in the lawsuit filed close to four years ago. The Jackson estate had put the figure at less than $400,000.

Jones claimed in the lawsuit that Jackson’s estate and Sony Music Entertainment owed him for music used in the concert film “This Is It” and two Cirque du Soleil shows that used Jackson’s songs.

Jones, who produced “Thriller” and two other Jackson albums, said the songs were improperly re-edited in order to deprive him of the royalties and production fees.

Rihanna Wears Pink Prada Outfit at Paris Premiere of "Valerian City of a Thousand Planets"

On Tuesday, the singer graced the red carpet for the premiere of Valerian City of a Thousand Planets in Paris wearing a millennial pink ensemble that somehow outshone her other headline-making lewks from previous premieres.

Millennial pink is not a surprising choice for Riri — she wore a bubblegum pink off-the-shoulder gown just one week ago for the film's Los Angeles premiere. But the outfit from Tuesday's red carpet was a completely different silhouette, this time channeling a modern-day flapper. Rihanna's Prada outfit consisted of a beaded satin bra paired with a high-waisted pencil skirt, trimmed at the hemline with darker hued feathers.

She accessorized the ensemble with pink, round-frame Cutler and Gross sunnies (which covered up coral-pink eyeshadow), rose-hued diamond drop earrings, and fur-trimmed Charlotte Olympia heels in a pinkish-nude hue. The monochromatic look has also been Riri's go-to of late. On the London red carpet just a day ago, Rihanna wore head-to-toe red, accessorizing her low-cut bright dress with ruby jewels and deep crimson lips — not to mention, her first millennial pink premiere outfit also had a matching pink clutch and accessories. (But Rihanna's Parisian Prada was a departure for the singer, as she's worn Giambattista Valli gowns twice now.)

Rihanna — who plays a shape-shifting alien named "Bubble" in the new film — shared her outfits (as she's been doing the whole press tour) on Instagram, even revealing that her makeup was from her own, upcoming beauty line, Fenty Beauty.

In another social media picture, the singer poses with co-star Cara Delevingne, who looked equally glamorous in a long-sleeve, plunging silver gown. (What a red carpet duo these two are.) Take a look at her outfit below.

James Corden Performs Musical Number in Response to Donald Trump's Ban of Transgender Troops

James Corden issued a response to Donald Trump‘s ban on transgender individuals in the military by performing a song and dance number on The Late Late Show on Wednesday (July 26).
The song was performed to the tune of Nat King Cole‘s “L-O-V-E” with different words.

“‘L,’ he doesn’t care for lesbians; ‘G,’ he thinks two men should just be friends, ‘B,’ to his dumb knowledge is just a phase in college; ‘T,’ he finds confusing, so the army’s now refusing trans women who only want to serve; trans men who want rights we all deserve. POTUS thinks it’s unsavory, patriots who know real bravery. Trump’s got hate for me and you,” James sang.

Tinashe gets restraining order against fan

Tinashe has been granted a restraining order against an obsessed fan who thinks the pair are married.

The 24-year-old singer has been left terrified of her alleged stalker, Martin Murphy, who thinks he and the star are a married couple, and whom she believes is trying to hurt her.

According to TMZ.com, the “All Hands On Deck” singer has been awarded a restraining order against 25-year-old Martin, which requires him to stay at least 100 yards away from both the brunette beauty and her parents.

The publication also states Martin traveled from Boston to L.A. just to see the singer and ended up staying close to her parents’ home.

Tinashe is also said to be worried that the man is “trying to reinstate his Massachusetts license to carry a firearm.”

Martin’s father is also said to be in favor of the restraining order, and is quoted to have said in a declaration: “[Martin has] suffered a psychotic break and is unable to distinguish reality from fantasy.”

OMG! Mary J. Blige’s stepdaughter battered and bruised, vows to press charges

Briana Latrise Isaacs, stepdaughter of the “Queen of Hip Hop Soul” Mary J. Blige has come forward with shocking accusations that she, like Blige, is a victim of domestic abuse.

On Friday, July 8, Isaacs posted a series of disturbing video clips via Instagram, highlighting a long list of injuries, including a visibly busted lip and bloody gash over her right eye. “Ah s—. I do need stitches don’t I? Ah s—, am I going to have a scar?” said Isaacs. “Great another scar from another n—a beating up on me. I sure know how to pick them.”

Meanwhile, an insider tells rolling out, this was not a first occurrence. “It’s a shame, this is her second time being physically assaulted by a boyfriend, Iman Omari. I know her stepmother is a huge advocate against domestic violence and I know her father, Kendu, wants better for her.”

According to a second clip released by Isaacs, she is also suffering from a slight concussion in addition to slurred speech. “It’s been a long night. My son is safe — he didn’t see anything. Thank God.” While the mother of one appeared to initially place blame on herself, admitting she “spit in his face,” while lying on the ground following the beating, she (and a ‘friend’ in the background) quickly had a change of heart, stating there was “no justification” for the assault.

“Just to continue and end it — I’m still beautiful on the inside and outside. I’m just a little bruised up,” Isaacs said to the camera with a wink. “I just had my jaw realigned last week. Now I have to have it done again. That s— is not cheap,’ continued Isaacs. In the meantime, Briana says the bloody blow will “stop nothing” as she will “absolutely be pressing charges” against her attacker.

“My son doesn’t deserve to see his mom beat up. I don’t deserve to be beat up. I love wholeheartedly,” she said.

As fans know far too well, Blige is a long time advocate against domestic abuse. In December 2014, Blige released a striking domestic abuse-themed visual for “Whole Damn Year,” taking a backseat as couples fought dramatically — a blistering, starkly literal take on the song’s unsettling lyrics: “It took a whole damn year to repair my body,” sings Blige over a static-soaked piano hook. “Winter turned most of my heart / Spring punched me right in the stomach.”

YOU AGAIN? Gospel singer James Fortune pleads guilty to assaulting wife!

Popular Grammy-nominated gospel recording artist, James Fortune, has pleaded guilty to assaulting his wife.

He accepted a plea deal Tuesday to a third degree felony charge of assault - family violence. He was sentenced by Fort Bend District Judge Maggie Jaramillo to five years of probation plus five days in jail. He must also serve 175 hours of community service, complete a "batterer's intervention" program and stay away from his wife.

Investigators say Fortune struck his wife with a wooden vanity stool, kicked her and threw her against a wall one night inside their Stafford home in October of 2014. In court, a prosecutor read a victim impact statement form Fortune's wife in which she wrote, "I hope in all of this you get help. Serious help. Although this probation might be like a slap on the wrist, I hope you look at it as a moment to better yourself and change something within you for your future."

Fortune had no comment as he walked out of court. His mother told Eyewitness News he is not guilty, but she would not elaborate on that claim.

It's the second time Fortune has pleaded guilty after hurting a family member. In 2002 he took a plea deal for six years of probation after burning his four-year-old son in hot water. Investigators said Fortune said it was a form of discipline. The boy was burned over 40 percent of his body.

Prosecutors say Fortune's wife agreed to the plea deal this time because she didn't want to put their three kids through the stresses of trial and the possibility of testifying against him.

Singer Michel’le stopped New York’s The Breakfast Club and opened up about her past relationship with rapper and former N.W.A. member, Dr. Dre.

The songstress did not bite her tongue when talking about being a victim of domestic violence and she and the now 50-year-old mogul’s physical relationship. “Waiting him out girl after girl, fighting,” she said when asked what broke the two up. ” It was a lot, you get tired. I tried [to fist fight], I was losing.”

The star also admitted that she not only had a broken nose, but five black eyes, a cracked rib and scars “that are just amazing.” “It was normal,” the R&B Divas star said. “Everybody that knew, it was the normal.”

She continued, “He hasn’t apologized tip this day, it wouldn’t even do any good because it was the past. I do remember when he first gave me my very first black eye, we layed in the bed and he cried. He was crying … He said ‘I’m really sorry. I think that’s the only time he ever said Im sorry. He said ‘I’ll never hit you in that eye again.'”

Michel’le also confirmed that during the course of their relationship, Dre cheated on her with his now wife, Nicole Young.

Kanye West covers Billboard‘s annual Power 100 issue alongside Universal Music Group artist Lana Del Rey and UMG chairman/CEO Lucian Grange, who ranks No. 1 on the magazine’s list of power players.

SHE’S BACK! ‘Flavor of Love’ Star Tiffany Pollard & Mom Reportedly Heading Back To Reality TV

Tiffany “New York” Pollard is one reality star you can’t forget. Her claim to fame was a few years ago when she was on VH1’s “Flavor of Love” and then got her own spin off “I Love New York.” Well, according to her instagram the “H.B.I.C is back,” but this time around it’s with her mom, Sister Patterson. They will reportedly have their own show and according to TMZ:

Production sources tell us it will be a completely different NY … she’s breaking away from “Flavor of Love” style dating shows and getting real personal with her mom, Sister Patterson. 

There is a chance this might actually be true because the caption on her instagram photo reads:

I've got a first look at the NWA biopic trailer and it kicks off with an intro from Dr.Dre and Ice Cube. Here's the "Straight Outta Compton" synopsis:

Last night on the 57th annual Grammy Awards red carpet Noel Fisher, aka Detail, seems to hint and confirm the rumor for a full album??? The producer tells Billboard that an LP may drop really soon.

“I’m working with a couple of new projects that I don’t want to unveil, and then me and Beyonce and Jay Z are actually doing something together this year,” said Detail, who won his first career Grammy on Sunday (Feb. 8) when the pair’s “Drunk in Love” won best R&B song.   “When you think of Jay and Bey together, you think ‘album.’ You should already know,” said Detail. Asked if that album was going to arrive this year, the producer diplomatically replied, “In my imaginary mind, I will work to say it’s true.”

Bobbi Kristina and Nick Gordon’s Violent Relationship Fueled By Jealousy

As Bobbi Kristina Brown is in Emory University Hospital in a medically-induced coma, troubling revelations about her relationship with boyfriend Nick Gordon are coming to light. Allegedly, domestic violence fueled by jealousy from who many thought was her husband was a part of the life Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston’s daughter. 

Reports TMZ: Sources close to the couple tell us … their spats which sometimes resulted in domestic violence were almost always triggered by Nick’s jealousy over Bobbi Kristina’s fame. He felt he was also Whitney Houston‘s child since he grew up with her and could not understand why people focused on Bobbi.

One recent example … they were trying to get their own TV show but when Nick wasn’t offered the same deal as Bobbi Kristina they turned it down.

Sources close to the couple tell us Bobbi Kristina’s injuries, which triggered an ongoing criminal investigation with Gordon as the target, don’t surprise their friends because they’ve known the relationship sometimes got violent.

Gordon has been quiet as a church mouse and reportedly lawyered up when the authorities came sniffing around.

Beware of This Pastor and Others Like Him: He Sexually Assaulted a Woman During ‘Exorcisms’

*Man, the more I hear news like this, the more I feel an obligation to warn people to stop looking at “pastors” as people without the capacity to be lowdown dirty dogs. Recognize that they, too, are only human; and as such, are capable of using their status…excuse me, misusing their status to commit evil. I repeat: They are only human, nothing more. Of course this may not be your pastor, but its somebody’s. Like the Canadian pastor who has been arrested after he sexually assaulted a woman he was performing an exorcism on.

Wayne Marlon Jones, 53, has been accused of the assault by Toronto police. It occurred sometime between May 2011 and May 2013. Jones was arrested last August, but according to the Toronto Sun, police have only now began to reach out to anyone who may know something as the investigation continues.

Police said Jones’ victim was given “spiritual guidance” that included exorcisms, according to the Toronto Star. And a biography on Jones, posted on the United Spiritual Baptist Church website, says he is married with “a vast number of Spiritual Children” to his credit.

The bio also reads,“Bishop Dr. Wayne M. Jones is a man who believes in gratitude, and because of this he always talks about how grateful he is to every one who has touched his life in some way to get him to where he is now.”

Jones’ victim was also convinced to turn over her money and property to him and he faces three counts of fraud to the tune of $5,000.

And this victim may only be one of many. Neighbor Sue Lamonday told the Toronto Sun that the church services that went on made her uncomfortable.

“Weird things go on over there,” Lamonday told the publication. “It didn’t make sense people would be there at 2 a.m. until 4, 5, 6 a.m. I walked by last summer and heard [a man] screaming, ‘God is going to save you from the fires of hell if you hand over your help any way you can.'”

Greg Hardy’s Domestic Violence Charges Tossed After Ex Stops Cooperating

*Domestic violence charges against Carolina Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy have been dismissed, because his accuser has not made herself available to help with the case, prosecutors said Monday, according to ESPN.com.

Hardy’s appeal of his 2014 conviction was scheduled to begin Monday morning at the Mecklenburg County Courthouse, but his accuser, ex-girlfriend Nicole Holder, never showed up.

In a statement explaining the decision to dismiss charges, the district attorney’s office said it has “reliable information” that Holder and Hardy have reached a civil settlement and that she has “intentionally made herself unavailable to the State.”

Prosecutors have been unable to find Holder to issue her a subpoena, which would have compelled her to testify in the trial. Holder’s civil attorney also has refused to assist prosecutors in locating his client.

Hardy requested the jury trial July 15 after Mecklenburg District Court Judge Rebecca Thorne Tin found the 2013 Pro Bowl selection guilty of assaulting and threatening Holder. Under North Carolina law, his appeal set aside the guilty verdict.

Prosecutors last spoke with Holder in November, and at that time she indicated she wasn’t interested in participating in another trial. She has not spoken with them since then, they said in the statement.

Hardy left the courthouse without comment.

Hardy played only one game last season but received $13.1 million from Carolina after being designated the franchise tag in February. He was placed on the inactive roster in Week 2, days after the NFL’s climate regarding domestic violence changed with the release of a video showing then-Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice hitting his then-fiancée Janay Palmer in a casino elevator.

Hardy was placed on the commissioner’s exempt list before Week 3 until his case was resolved. General manager Dave Gettleman said after the July 15 verdict that “what’s happened with Greg is very concerning and disappointing.”

“His status remains unchanged until we fully review the matter,” the NFL said Monday.

Alabama is the 37th State to now have Marriage Equality! 

The U.S. Supreme Court has cleared the way for same-sex marriage in Alabama despite attempts by the state's chief justice to refuse licenses for gay couples.  

In a federal ruling, the justices rejected Alabama's bid to stop legalization from taking effect on Monday.

It means Alabama is the 37th state to allow gays and lesbians to wed - paving the way for nationwide legalization. 

'It's about time,' said Shante Wolfe, 21, who has camped outside the courthouse with her partner Tori Sisson, hoping to be Alabama's first same-sex couple to marry. 

Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore spearheaded the attempt to block gay marriage in the Deep South state by sending an order to state probate judges on Sunday night.

Moore has been one of the state's most outspoken critics of gay marriage. He called homosexuality an 'inherent evil' in a 2002 custody ruling against a lesbian mother. 

Last week, Moore sent a letter urging probate judges to reject the licenses. 

The head of the judges' association on Friday predicted most would issue the licenses. Moore upped the ante Sunday night by sending the directive.

He argued that judges are not bound by the ruling of a federal judge that the gay marriage ban is unconstitutional.

The letter sent on Sunday night read: 'Effective immediately, no probate judge of the state of Alabama nor any agent or employee of any Alabama probate judge shall issue or recognize a marriage license that is inconsistent with (the Alabama Constitution).' 

After marriages begun on Monday, Alabama's Attorney General Luther Strange slammed the ruling for causing 'confusion'. 

According to Pink News, he said: 'In the absence of a stay, there will likely be more confusion in the coming months leading up to the Supreme Court's anticipated ruling on the legality of same-sex marriage.

'With the lifting of the 14-day stay on Feb. 9, 2015, the U.S. District Court order remains in effect, enjoining me from enforcing Alabama's laws against same-sex marriage in my official capacity as attorney general.

'I advise probate judges to talk to their attorneys and associations about how to respond to the ruling.'

It was a dramatic return to defiance for Moore, who was removed as chief justice in 2003 for refusing to obey a federal court order to remove a washing machine-sized Ten Commandments from the state judicial building. 

Critics lashed out that Moore had no authority to tell county probate judges to enforce a law that a federal judge already ruled unconstitutional.  

He's been one of the state's most outspoken critics of gay marriage; in 2002 he called homosexuality an 'evil' in a custody ruling.

'This is a pathetic, last-ditch attempt at judicial fiat by an Alabama Supreme Court justice-a man who should respect the rule of law rather than advance his personal beliefs,' said Sarah Warbelow, legal director of the Human Rights Campaign.

Warbelow urged probate judges to issue the licenses in compliance with ruling of U.S. District Judge Callie Granade.

Susan Watson, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Alabama, predicted that 'we will see marriage equality in Alabama' on Monday.

'I don't think the probate judges in Alabama are going to defy a federal court judge's order,' she said.

On January 23, Granade ruled that the state's statutory and constitutional bans on gay marriage were unconstitutional but put her order on hold until February 9 to let the state prepare for the change.

The same-sex couples queuing outside courthouses were left waiting until the last minute on Monday morning for the high court to issue a ruling on the state's request. 

Jessie and Cooper Odell brought their son with them to witness their marriage. Jessie, 42, said he was surprised by the speed with which Alabama's ban on same-sex marriage fell.

'I knew it was coming, but not this fast with our history on civil rights,' he said.

OMG…UGH This Teen Killer Took Selfie with Victim's Body

Authorities in Pennsylvania have arrested a 16-year-old boy who allegedly shot a classmate in the face and then shared a selfie with his corpse on social media, The Washington Post reports.

According to police, the photo served as "a key piece of evidence" against Maxwell Marion Morton, who they say murdered Ryan Mangan, also 16.

A day after Mangan was discovered dead in his home on Wednesday, the mother of a third teen showed the picture to police, her son having screencapped the photo from Snapchat. From the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:

"(Police) received a copy of the photo which depicted the victim sitting in the chair with a gunshot wound to the face," a police affidavit states. "It also depicts a black male taking the 'selfie,' with his face facing the camera and the victim behind the actor. The photo had the name 'Maxwell' across the top."

Additionally, police say the third teen received texts from Morton stating, "Told you I cleaned up the shells," and "Ryan was not the last one."

Marion reportedly confessed to the crime after police searched his home and found a 9 mm handgun. The teen now faces charges of first-degree murder, homicide and possession of a firearm by a minor.
