#Empire’ Recap: Cookie Lyon scores a hot new singer to the Lyon Family management company.
The Lyon Clan is back to business as usual. Cookie and Porsha find a talented singer named Devon (played by Mario), but unfortunately, Empire found him too. Becky got to him first. Cookie tells him not to sign with Empire until he sees what she can do for him first and he gives her his word.
Empire pulls out all the stops and gives him the royal treatment, of course, but he’s not feeling that they want to turn him into a sex symbol with money, cars, and hoes. Kingsley literally said that. So, he decides to see what Cookie has to offer after all and actually likes the Lyon Clan better. However, he wants to run things by his sister first before signing the contract. Later on, Cookie goes to Devon’s house to find him and to get their business squared away, but she finds his sister instead. Said sister is severely disabled and mentions that it’s just she and Devon since their parents died. She also mentions that Devon works a lot of jobs to support them since she can’t work and that she feels awful about it. It also comes out that Devon wants to sign with Empire but Cookie gets so disturbed by this that she dashes out and decides not to leave the contract. Later on, Cookie tells Becky to sign Devon because she and Lucious can’t give him what he needs (money) right now. She just asks that Becky gets Devon’s contract signed asap and that she sees to it that Empire takes care of him. But guess what? Devon returns to Cookie and says he and his sister felt more comfortable signing with them. Lucious is so appreciative that he gives him a couple of racks on the spot.

#MusicNews: Mariah Carey Announces ‘Caution World Tour’
Mariah Carey will be advocating for ‘Caution’ in a city near you.
The international superstar has announced the “Caution World Tour,” which kicks off on February 27, 2019 in Dallas, TX. The 22-city North American jaunt will make stops in major cities like Houston, Atlanta, Detroit, Chicago, Toronto, New York, Washington, DC, and Philadelphia before wrapping on April 6 in Bethlehem, PA.
“I’m so excited to bring the ‘Caution World Tour’ to you, starting February 2019!” said Carey. “I can’t wait to perform songs from the new album as well as some of our favorites!”
Members of Carey’s fan club Honey B. Fly, as well as Citi cardmembers, will have first access to tickets starting Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets go on sale to the general public starting Friday, Oct. 26 via LiveNation.com.
The tour announcement comes on the heels of Carey’s recent revelation in which she revealed the title for her forthcoming fifteenth studio album, aptly dubbed Caution, and a release date of November 16th. the project is herald by the buzz single, “GTFO,” produced by Nineteen85, the Mustard-produced lead single “With You,” and the recently released “The Distance,” a duet with Ty Dolla $ign. The upcoming project serves as the follow-up to 2014’s Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse and will also feature contributions from Jermaine Dupri and Skrillex.
Prior to the tour kickoff, Carey can be seen in her Las Vegas residency “Butterfly Returns” at Caesars Palace Colosseum, which runs through Feb. 21. She has also announced a series of “All I Want for Christmas” shows for Europe in December.

#HipHopNews: Tracy Chapman Sues Nicki Minaj Over Nas Collaboration "Sorry"
’90s singer Tracy Chapman is reportedly suing Nicki Minaj for ripping off one of her original songs. According to TMZ, Chapman claims Minaj stole 1988’s “Baby Can I Hold You” for her own track “Sorry” featuring Nas, which was initially supposed to be on Nicki’s fourth album Queen.
Nicki was well aware she needed permission to use parts of Chapman’s song. In June, Minaj and her team made multiple requests to license “Baby Can I Hold You” and all requests were denied. Failure to get the license was one of the reasons she cited for Queen’s delay.
In August, she tweeted, “So there’s a record on #Queen that features 1of the greatest rappers of all time. Had no clue it sampled the legend #TracyChapman — do I keep my date & lose the record? Or do I lose the record & keep my date? Do we push #Queen back 1week? Ugh! I’m torn, y’all help. Tracy Chapman, can you please hit me. omg for the love of #Queen.”
Chapman says material from “Baby Can I Hold You” makes up half of the lyrics and vocal melody of “Sorry.”
The lawsuit says Funkmaster Flex played “Sorry” on Hot 97 and it was also featured on The Breakfast Club. Subsequently, it started making the rounds on internet and Nicki, once again, tried to get it cleared with Chapman.
But according to another tweet from Nicki, “Sis said no.” Chapman is seeking for damages and an order to prohibit Nicki and her team from releasing the song again.
Secret Service Intercepts Explosive Devices Mailed to Barack Obama, Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton
Two explosive devices were mailed to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, the U.S. Secret Service confirmed. The federal law enforcement agency said in a statement to Us that it had “intercepted two suspicious packages addressed” to the former president, 57, in Washington, D.C., and the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee, 70, in Westchester County, New York. The device mailed to Clinton was located near the Chappaqua, New York, home she shares with her husband, former president Bill Clinton.
“The packages were immediately identified during routine mail screening procedures as potential explosive devices and were appropriately handled as such,” the statement said. “The protectees did not receive the packages nor were they at risk of receiving them.”
The Secret Service added that it has commenced a “full-scope criminal investigation that will leverage all available federal, state and local resources to determine the source of the packages and identify those responsible.”

Beyoncé and JAY-Z have been globetrotting for months as part of their On The Run II Tour. As a result, the billionaire couple has raked in over $250 million. According to Billboard, the extensive run pulled in $253.5 million as reported to Billboard Boxscore.
The OTR II Tour kicked off on June 6 in Cardiff, Wales and wrapped up on October 4 at Seattle’s CenturyLink Field. The proud parents of three performed a total of 48 stadium dates. London Stadium’s two-night engagement alone amassed $11 million with more than 125,000 tickets sold.
The OTR II Tour served as the sequel to the couple’s original On The Road Tour, which launched in 2014.

Megyn Kelly Issues Apology to 'Today' Viewers Over Blackface
Megyn Kelly has issued a somewhat response to her extremely controversialand DUMB comments about blackface made this week during her hour of the Today show.
“I want to begin with two words: I’m sorry. I was wrong and I am sorry. One of the great parts of sitting in this chair is getting to discuss different points of view. Sometimes I talk and sometimes I listen, and yesterday I learned. I learned given the history of blackface being used in awful ways by racists in this country, it is not OK for that to be part of any costume, Halloween or otherwise,” she said.
Megyn continued, “I’ve never been a PC person but I do understand the value in being sensitive to our history, particularly on race and ethnicity. This past year has been so painful for many people of color. The country feels so divided, and I have no wish to add to that pain and offense. I believe this is a time for more understanding, more love, more sensitivity and honor and I want to be part of that. Thank you for listening and helping me listen too.”

Diddy Pledges $1 Million to New Bronx Charter School
Diddy has pledged $1 million to a network of charter schools for a new location in the Bronx. Capital Preparatory Schools has been approved to open the school in September with 160 6th- and 7th-graders. The goal is to expand to 650 students in grades six through 11 over five years, according to an announcement Tuesday (Oct. 23).
The music mogul and Harlem native is a longtime education advocate.
Diddy says he knows firsthand the importance of quality education.
“I came from the same environment these kids live in every day,” he said in a statement. “I understand the importance of access to a great education, and the critical role it plays in a child’s future. Our school provides historically disadvantaged students with the college and career skills needed to become responsible and engaged citizens for social justice.”
“Mr. Combs’ commitment and leadership continue to inspire us. On behalf of the Capital Prep students, parents and teachers I want to express our sincerest gratitude for such a generous gift,” Dr. Perry said. “We know that the families in the Bronx deserve a high-quality academic alternative to their current system. In fact, 40% of our applicants to our Capital Prep Harlem school, 600 kids, have come from the Bronx so there is a real need to serve students in this area. Mr. Combs wanted to open schools to develop leaders. What he’s done with his investment is embody what we expect students to do, which is to invest their resources in our communities.”
Gal Gadot confirms Wonder Woman 1984 has been pushed back until summer 2020
Wonder Woman fans will have to wait a further seven months to see the film’s first sequel. The eagerly anticipated follow-up to the 2017 movie – entitled Wonder Woman 1984 – was due to arrive in cinemas in November 2019. However, actress Gal Gadot confirmed on Monday that it would now be delayed until June 2020. Gadot shared her excitement that the date, right in the heart of summer blockbuster season, was a ‘rightful home’ for the female-led film.
She tweeted: ‘Super excited to announce that, thanks to the changing landscape, we are able to put Wonder Woman back to its rightful home. June 5, 2020. ‘Be there or be square!!!’ The film will also star Kristen Wiig as villain The Cheetah and Chris Pine will return to play Steve Trevor, while Pedro Pascal will join the cast in an undisclosed role.
Monster director Patty Jenkins is returning to direct the second film and said the new opening date ‘felt like home’. ‘Our weekend,’ she wrote on Twitter. ‘Feels like home. Can’t wait for the day to come to share so many people’s great work, blowing me away every day.’

Rajon Rondo Says He Didn’t Intentionally Spit In Chris Paul’s Face, Calls Him A “Horrible” Teammate
The beef between Rajon Rondo and Chris Paul has continued, as Rondo is calling Paul a “horrible” teammate and claims people have the wrong idea about #SpitGate.
Three games are what Los Angeles Lakers point guard, Rajon Rondo, had taken away from him after his brawl with Houston Rockets point guard, Chris Paul. During the Saturday night game, Rondo is seen spitting on Paul and throwing the first punch. However, Rondo told ESPN he did not intentionally spit on the Houston player.
“I had a mouthpiece in my mouth and I exasperated because I was about to tell him to ‘get the [expletive] out of here.’ Look at my body language [in the video]. My hands on my hips. I turn away for a second. Look at Eric [Gordon] and Melo [Carmelo Anthony] in the video. If they saw me spit, they would have turned their face up or something. They had no reaction.” He claims the only reason Paul was suspended for only two games is because of his “good guy” image.
“Of course, the NBA went with his side because I got three games and he got two. Everyone wants to believe Chris Paul is a good guy. They don’t know he’s a horrible teammate. They don’t know how he treats people. Look at what he did last year when he was in LA; trying to get to the Clippers locker room. They don’t want to believe he’s capable of taunting and igniting an incident.” He added, “Exasperating and spitting are two different things. He comes out and says I spit and the media sides with that.”
Rondo went on to say the videos that show spit coming from his mouth need to be explained in fuller context. “Y’all are playing me with these tricks or these mind games, tampering with the evidence. Ain’t no way that I intentionally spit on you with my body language the way it was.”One, if I spit on you, bottom line, there is not going to be no finger pointing. If you felt that I just spit on you, then all bets are off. Two, look at my body language. If I spit on you on purpose, I’m going to be ready for a man to swing on me. You ain’t going to have my hands on my hip and my head look away at someone if I spit on them. After the [expletive] goes down, within 30 seconds, you run and tell the sideline reporters that I spit on you? If I spit on you, you are trying to get to me. You not trying to make up a story so you can look like a good guy. It makes no sense to me.”
Several members from the Rockets, including Carmelo Anthony, have confirmed that Rondo did spit on Chris Paul.
The fight stemmed from #BrandonIngram fouling James Harden in the fourth quarter, who then pushed him in the back after it seemed Harden called for the foul. When Ingram got in an official’s face, Paul and Rondo got into an argument that led to them fighting.
The Titanic 2 Will Set Sail In 2022
The real-life story of the Titanic has become an international phenomenon since the tragic event occurred in 1912.
Now, a revamped version of the ship is in the works and set to set sail once again.
According to Express, Australian businessman and politician Clive Palmer has confirmed that construction of The Titanic 2 has began again after a 2015 financial halt and is slated for a 2022 launch.
The launch is slated for 2022 which will be 110 years after the ship first set sail.
According to USA Today, the ship will consist of the same rhonjcabin-style layout and will host 2400 passengers and 900 crew members just as Titanic 1 did.
The ship will also follow the same journey as its sunken name-sake.
“The ship will follow the original journey, carrying passengers from Southampton to New York,” Blue Line chairman Clive Palmer told MSN, “but she will also circumnavigate the globe, inspiring and enchanting people while attracting unrivaled attention, intrigue and mystery in every port she visits.”

Monday’s series premiere of “T.I. & Tiny: Friends and Family Hustle” delivered respectable TV ratings for VH1.
The reality TV series features Tip “T.I.” Harris, 39, his estranged wife Tameka “Tiny” Harris, 42, and their 7 children.
According to TV By the Numbers, over 1.3 million viewers tuned in to watch Tiny and T.I. try to work out their differences while raising their youngest children in 3 separate households.
‘Family Hustle’ nabbed a respectable 0.6 Nielsen rating in the all-important adults 18-49 demographic.
Also featured on the show are Tiny’s friends, singers Monica Brown and LeToya Luckett and reality TV star Toya Wright.
In addition to T.I.’s Lake Spivey mansion, the rap mogul helps Tiny pay the mortgage on her Eagles Landing mansion while she and her youngest daughter, Heiress, live in a luxury apartment in the affluent South Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta.
#RHoNJ’s Teresa Giudice is Refusing to Film Scenes About Joe’s Deportation (REPORT)
A judge ruled exactly two weeks ago that the Real Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Giudice must be deported to his native country of Italy, upon the completion of his 41-month prison sentence for fraud. According to Reality Blurb
And according to an all new report, Joe’s wife Teresa Giudice is refusing to film any scenes about Joe’s deportation, even turning down an alleged $500,000!
News of Teresa’s refusal to film her latest life crisis is quite surprising since the Bravo reality star is known for cashing in on all of her major life events – good or bad.
Radar Online is however stating that Teresa, 46, is fearful that filming scenes about Joe’s deportation could jeopardize his legal case, as Joe is apparently planning to appeal the judge’s ruling. The judge gave him 30 days to file an appeal during the October 10 court hearing.
“Teresa refused to film any special scenes because the attorney told her not to do anything until the final decision is made,” revealed a source close to Teresa.
The source claims that Teresa even turned down a half-a-million-dollar paycheck from the Bravo network.
“She’s terrified to do anything to harm Joe,” the insider stated.
“This situation is so bad for Teresa,” the source continued. “She’s not talking about it at all. She’s afraid that anything she says can be used against Joe.”
And while Teresa is said to be heartbroken about Joe’s deportation news, she is still refusing to visit him in prison. Sources tell the outlet that following the judge’s ruling, Joe and Teresa’s daughter Milania went to visit Joe but Teresa did not go with her, instead choosing to follow Gia to go look at some colleges.
“Joe’s family was shocked that Teresa didn’t go with her daughter,” claims the source. “Actions speak louder than words with Teresa… She tells everyone she is so devastated but then she doesn’t go visit him and doesn’t even go with Milania.”
Cosby Judge Rejects New Trial Bid; Camille Cosby Sees Bias
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A judge on Tuesday rejected Bill Cosby’s bid for a new trial or sentencing hearing, leading the comedian’s wife, Camille, to again accuse the judge of bias against her husband.
The ruling by the same judge that presided over Cosby’s trial also led the entertainer’s lawyers to file their appeal with the state Superior Court, the next step in trying to reverse his felony sex assault conviction.
Cosby is serving a three- to 10-year state prison term after a jury this year found he drugged and molested a woman in 2004. The defense wants the legally blind, 81-year-old actor released on bail while he appeals over alleged trial errors.
Cosby, in the meantime, is living in a single cell near the infirmary at the State Correctional Institution-Phoenix in suburban Philadelphia and has access to a day room, where he can watch television or eat meals, a state prisons spokeswoman said.
For now, he is the only person using that day room, spokeswoman Amy Worden said. Several inmates are assigned to help him with daily living tasks as part of their prison jobs, she said. Cosby has also had several visitors.
“He’s a high-profile inmate. You want to make sure that they’re safe and acclimated,” Worden said.
Camille Cosby continued to issue searing attacks against Montgomery County Judge Steven O’Neill, as she has done since the first trial ended in a jury deadlock in June 2017. In the latest missive Tuesday, she again said he should have stepped down from the case because his wife has advocated for sex assault victims. O’Neill has heard the argument before and said his wife’s work has no bearing on his legal rulings.
The defense also renewed attacks on the judge over what they call his feud with a key pretrial witness, former county District Attorney Bruce Castor.
Castor had declined to arrest Cosby when the accuser first came forward in 2005 and said he’d promised Cosby he would never be charged. When a successor did, O’Neill ruled that any verbal promise Castor made wasn’t legally binding. In an affidavit attached to Tuesday’s appeal, Castor said he believed O’Neill’s ruling was influenced by a long-ago feud between them.
“Mr. Cosby had a right to have his petition reviewed and decided by a judge who could make a decision free of bias, or even the perception of bias, where the ability to prosecute hinged on the testimony of the 2005 district attorney,” his new lawyers, the latest of about 20 to work the criminal case, wrote in the appeal.
The defense also challenged O’Neill’s decisions to let five other accusers testify; let the jury hear portions of Cosby’s damaging deposition in the accuser’s related lawsuit; and declare Cosby a sexually violent predator who remained a threat to the community.
