#FASHIONFAB: Humanrace Samba Colors by Pharrell Debuts at VB 'Something in the Water' Festival

The famous Adidas Samba has stood at the forefront of sneaker culture for decades, as a timeless classic first issued in 1950. The low-top sneaker was inspired by the greats of soccer, but they are considered to be versatile classics for cycling around town in style. Top media like GQ or Robb Report calls Adidas Sambas “beloved”.

AOC shares exciting news about the ongoing collaboration between Pharrell Williams and adidas —  Humanrace Samba Colors by Pharrell, a collection of luxury footwear in a depth of colorways that embody the diversity and energy of Humanrace’s DNA.
Last weekend at Pharrell’s ‘Something in the Water’ Festival in Virginia Beach, music lovers with an Atlantic Ocean view got their first look at five new Humanrace Samba colorways:  Yellow, Orange, Pink, Lilac, and Red.  A Humanrace green colorway is also available exclusively to friends and family of the brand.

This collection was born out of a desire to celebrate the craftsmanship and heritage behind adidas’ seismic change silhouette and Pharrell’s appreciation for luxury and color. “We’re instilling high quality materials and craftsmanship back into footwear,” says Williams about this newest Samba launch.

The new creative director of Louis Vuitton Men’s hasn’t missed a beat in his other enterprises — just as Virgil Abloh pursued multiple projects in his role at LVM.

Pharrell Worked with Acclaimed as Responsible Ecco Leather for Humanrace Samba

If your style is a bit more classic, you can wait for the Charcoal, White, and Terracotta colorways that will be released towards fall.
Pharrell’s Humanrace Samba is a unique and luxurious interpretation of the original Samba model offered by the Three Stripes. Pharrell elevates the Samba with all-around high-end leather upper and leather shoelaces sourced from ECCO Leather, a world leader in innovative and premium leather.

The raw materials, sourced from the Netherlands, are transformed into the adidas Samba Leather through ECCO Leather’s water-saving tanning technology which saves 20 liters of water per hide, resulting in a higher color fastness and saturation. The extended tongue is a nod to the silhouette’s rich sport heritage and the brand’s unrivaled history in football [soccer].

The collection will be available globally on May 6th via Humanrace.com, adidas online, in-store at Extra Butter in New York City and online, and Offspring in London.

Housewives of Atlanta Premiere: Who Stole the Show? Martell's Messiness and Kandi's Spoofing and More
In the Season 15 premiere of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, we find the women possessed by higher powers, led by the vibrations of unearthly forces. The most powerful among them? Sheree’s new boyfriend’s Big D–k Energy and Kandi’s behind-the-scenes spoofing.

But which Housewife will emerge as a fan favorite? Who is the center of the drama? The teller of jokes? The spreader of false dungeon rumors? With Porsha and NeNe both long gone, the women have been lacking a North ives of Atlanta Premiere: Who Stole the Show? Martell's BDE, Kandi's Spoofing and More
Star, of sorts. Luckily, this season, which airs new episodes every Sunday at 8 pm ET/PT on Bravo, looks to be proving that the women can orient themselves around some new star power.

But oddly enough, the real scene stealers aren’t even people at all. The main players of RHOA are the flighty, undefined abstractions that the women can’t stop obsessing over. I’m talking about BDE, Instagram spoofs, rumors from “the streets” and Todd’s work ethic.

In case you need a cheat sheet on RHOA, missed the episode, or simply want to engage with the wives just a little bit longer, check out the list below where I’ve outlined the premiere’s biggest “players.” Which topic do you think will remain a cast obsession for the entirety of Season 15? Let us know in the comments

#HipHopNews: Machine Gun Kelly Disses Jack Harlow On New Freestyle

Machine Gun Kelly has spent his last few years making alt-rock music and dating Megan Fox. While many think he has left hip hop behind, he’s now jumping back into the genre for yet another beef. This comes on the heels of Jack Harlow’s boisterous claim of being the second-best white rapper after Eminem on his new surprise rap-heavy album, Jackman.

Over the weekend, MGK dropped a “Renegade” freestyle to get some things off his chest following the bold claims. Following his beef with the “Lose Yourself” rapper, MGK choosing an Eminem beat to rap over to diss Harlow added more fuel to the fire.
The Ohio-bred emcee/rockstar holds no punches while getting at his new foe. Hip hop has always been predicated on bravado, and neither Jack nor MGK lacks in that category. The witty diss starts as a general warning shot to any doubters before directly targeting the “First Class” recording artist.

During the scathing diss, Kelly said, “I’m a Great White / I could eat these barracudas,” followed by, “I see why they call you Jackman / You jacked man’s whole swag / Give Drake his flow back, man.” Fans of both artists immediately caught the flip on Jack Harlow’s original bars on his debut album, Come Home The Kids Miss You.

We have yet to see Jack Harlow involved in a lyrical squirmish, but MGK has proven to go toe-to-toe with the greats. With Harlow being signed to DJ Drama’s Generation Now, fans would be shocked if the confident wordsmith didn’t engage.

This is just more steam to shed light on “They Don’t Love It” and the rest of Harlow’s Jackman. With the weather heating up, it’s the perfect time for a good ol’ fashion, nonviolent rap beef.

#BoxOfficeNews: ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ Tops Box Office With $114 Million
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 toppled The Super Mario Bros. Movie to take the top spot at the domestic box office, Variety reports.

James Gunn’s final film for Marvel Studios opened with $114 million domestically, marking the second highest opening for the Guardians franchise. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 opened with $146.2 million in 2017, while the first movie in the franchise opened with $94.2 million domestically in 2014.

In the overseas market, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 opened at No.1 and took in $168.1 million in over 52 markets, which pushed its global earnings to $282.1 million. The film made $28.1 million in China, 14.7 million in the U.K., $13.6 million in South Korea, $13 million in Mexico and $8.2 million in France.

Vol. 3’s numbers were good enough to finally push The Super Mario Bros. Movie to the No. 2 spot in its fifth week, earning $18.6 million. That brought Mario’s domestic total to $518.2 million and $1.16 billion globally, making it the biggest film of the year so far, and it’s not particularly close.

Vol. 3 marked something of a return to form for Marvel, after a series of films that failed to meet the lofty expectations the studio has set for itself in recent years. While it earned the lowest Rotten Tomatoes score of any movie in the trilogy, it did earn an A CinemaScore, because let’s face it, Gunn gives the people what they want.

‘S.W.A.T.’ Star Shemar Moore Shares Frustration About Drama’s Cancellation: “We’ve Done Nothing Wrong. We Did Everything That Was Asked For”
Shemar Moore, who has played Sgt. Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson on S.W.A.T. since 2017, expressed his sorrow and frustration via Instagram late Friday over CBS’s decision to ax the drama after six seasons. He also pointed out that his show’s cancellation would leave network TV without the only African American actor in a leading role, and the only series with a truly diverse cast.

“I got sunglasses on cuz I’m a little bit sad,” Moore said on his IG. “I’m a lot a bit sad. We got canceled, S.W.A.T., S.W.A.T. got canceled. It makes no sense. Look up the articles, read the articles. We are the best shows on Friday night at 8 for CBS. The last two years we have been killing it, us and the fire show…the fire show [Fire Country] that comes on right after us, and respect to those brothers and sisters. We’ve done nothing wrong. We did everything that was asked for. And let me tell the truth. We’re diverse. Did you know I am the only African American male lead on network TV? Not streaming, not cable, network television … NCIS: LA, LL Cool J, Chris O’ Donnell, respect. Much respect. LL wasn’t no. 1. Chris O’Donnell was. But LL is a beast, don’t get it twisted, don’t mix my words. Since 2017 there are females, Angela Bassett. Look them up. I am the only African American male lead. Let’s get beyond me. S.W.A.T. is the most diverse show on CBS. CBS when I got hired to be Hondo on S.W.A.T., was getting a lot of flack for lack of diversity. If I post this and I think I might, I will get in a lot of trouble with CBS because I’m calling them out cuz’ they’ve been wonderful to me for 26 out of my 29-year career. But to abruptly get told that you’re canceled when you led us to believe last week and the week before that … that we would have some semblance of a season 7 to at least say goodbye, if not continue, and to abruptly be told you’re done…now there’s a lot of politics, a lot of things called licensing, a lot of you won’t understand what that means…its all about money, y’all. They said we’re canceled, but guess what I don’t think we’re done. CBS is either gonna wake up and realize they made a mistake. Sony is gonna do their math and realize that this is not the right move. I hope we can have a kumbaya and come back together and continue this show because it’s a good time for families across the world. If it is the end, life will go on, I’m not worried about me. I care about my family, my crew, the writers, the producers, the caterers, the wardrobe, the sound mixers, the teamsters, the construction crew ..that’s a whole lot of people who are abruptly being told you that don’t matter, sorry, thank you for your services. Good luck in finding a new job. To me that’s not okay.”
CBS is home to several shows with persons of color in leading roles, including The Equalizer, The Neighborhood and CSI: Las Vegas.

As Deadline reported Friday, CBS and lead studio Sony TV could not come to a financial agreement over the show’s renewal. As Deadline reported in March, early renewals on shows over the last few years had come with the network keeping the license fee unchanged, which had put more pressure on the budget and further squeezing profit margins as costs increase every year. Sony was not willing to go for another renewal at a flat license fee as that would compromise the show’s financial model.

CBS eventually went up on the license fee but the offer came with a cut of the order, which would’ve pushed up the per-episode budget even higher and further hurt the show’s economics. The two sides were in negotiations til the end but the gap between them remained, leading to Friday’s cancellation. It appears unlikely the show will find another home.

The finale of S.W.A.T. is actually a two-parter that begins on May 12. Written by Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier, the finale follows the team as it works with the DEA and their iron-jawed leader, Mack Boyle (guest star Timothy Hutton), to stop a ruthless cartel boss from waging war on the streets of Los Angeles as he exacts revenge on those who killed his son. The final episode will air May 19.

Chris Brown Caught In Another Altercation After Usher Scuffle
Chris Brown apparently hasn't dealt with his anger management issue after an incident with Usher. The R&B artist lost his temper again at the Lovers & Friends Festival, just one day after getting into a scuffle with the "U Got It Bad" hitmaker.

In new footage which has circulated online, the 34-year-old singer/dancer was seen aggressively trying to reach somebody across from him in what looks to be the backstage area of a venue. The video was reportedly taken during Missy Elliott's set on Saturday night, May 6 in Las Vegas.

Security and several people around Breezy were seen trying to diffuse the situation. It's unclear what prompted the heated argument, but it seemed that the confrontation didn't escalate into something physical.

Chris and Usher also performed at the Lovers & Friends Festival that night following their altercation one day before. Showing no visible injuries, the two performed on separate sets. Chris, who wore a white ensemble and a navy Los Angeles Dodgers baseball cap for the event, shared a stage with rapper Bow Wow at the one-day festival, before Usher took the stage in an all-black, leather outfit that he paired with sunglasses.

Based on video which surfaced earlier over the weekend, Chris and Usher got into an argument at Chris' birthday party which was thrown by Usher at the Skate Rock City roller rink on Friday night. The "Beautiful People" singer reportedly was not happy that Usher invited Teyana Taylor to the bash.

Chris and Teyana's issued stemmed from her bailing out on his Michael Jackson tribute performance at the AMAs. When Chris tried to confront her, she reportedly ignored him. He then asked Usher to kick her out of the birthday party, but the "U Remind Me" refused.

Chris then walked out of the party with his crew. Usher then followed Chris to the parking lot. The 44-year-old later emerged "a short time later" from behind a string of charter buses with what appeared to be a bloody nose.

Ray Liotta's Cause Of Death Unearthed
Ray Liotta passed away from acute heart failure. The 67-year-old "Goodfellas" actor was discovered dead at his hotel in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in May 2022 and now officials in the country have reportedly confirmed his cause of death was respiratory insufficiency, pulmonary edema, and acute heart failure.

Liotta's death was categorized as "natural and nonviolent" and officials found the star was suffering from atherosclerosis - a thickening of the arteries which can lead to problems including heart attacks and strokes, according to the documents obtained by TMZ.com.

Liotta had been in the Dominican Republic working on a movie called "Dangerous Waters" with Eric Dane, Odeya Rush, and Saffron Burrows and previous reports suggested he had died in his sleep. His body was later flown back to his family the US.

The actor was honoured with a posthumous star on Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles in February. The ceremony was attended by Liotta's fiance Jacy Nittolo and his daughter Karsen Liotta, who accepted the award on her dad's behalf and expressed her pride in all his achievements.

She said, "I'm so touched to be accepting this honour on behalf of my dad. I couldn't be more proud of him. He was a one-of-a-kind actor, and the best friend, brother and father anyone could ask for. I lucked out with you. If you have a Ray in your life, you're lucky. Thank you for your work, and the imprint you left on me and all of those who love you. Everyone deserves a Ray in their life."

Taraji P. Henson Says Black Women In the Industry Need to Band Together Because ‘The World Is Against Us’
As a seasoned actress in Hollywood, Taraji P. Henson knows the importance of supporting other Black women in the industry.
The “Baby Boy” star slayed her latest cover of Hello Beautiful. In the issue, she discussed why it’s a priority to back up those in show business that look like her.
“We need each other,” Henson admitted. “We ain’t s–t without each other. The world is against us.”

She continued, “We are at the bottom of every pay grade, everywhere you go, the Black woman is the last to be thought about. We don’t have time to compete with each other, to go against each other, to fight with each other.”
Henson’s dedication to uplifting Black women is definitely seen in many of her acts.

The mom of one recently sat down with rapper Yung Miami and Mary J. Blige back in March for the “Real Love” singer’s new show, “Mary J. Blige’s The Wine Down,” where they talked about relationships, strong Black women tropes, and leaving toxic situations.

In 2020, the Golden Globe winner featured in Megan Thee Stallion’s music video for her hit song “Body.”

The video came a few months after reports emerged that the Houston rapper had been shot in the foot by Canadian rapper Tory Lanez.

In an interview that same year, Henson spoke with “A Little Late With Lilly Singh” and described her experience working with everyone’s favorite stallion.
“I just had so much fun with her,” the 52-year-old explained. “She is just a sweet, sweet, sweetheart. What you see is what you get.”

The actress doesn’t have to personally collaborate with Black women in the industry to support them. After Viola Davis won an Emmy award in 2015, Henson — who was also nominated, couldn’t contain her excitement once Davis’ name was called.

Jumping for joy as the EGOT walked her way, Henson embraced Davis and continued cheering for her despite applause fading away.

During her 2015 interview with Ellen DeGeneres, the “Empire” actor gave Davis her flowers for being the first Black woman to receive an Emmy award.
“Viola deserved that award,” she said. “And honestly, I would’ve felt weird if I would’ve gotten it over her. You know what I mean, she’s been doing it longer. You just gotta give respect and know when your time is.”

It appears as if Henson makes it a habit to give respect to every Black female entertainer she crosses paths with.

Vida Blue, 3-time World Series champion and Oakland A's Hall of Fame pitcher, dies at 73
Vida Blue, a decorated MLB pitcher and crucial member of the Oakland Athletics' World Series three-peat from 1972 to '74, has died, the team announced Sunday. He was 73.

"There are few players with a more decorated career than Vida Blue," the A's said in a statement. "He was a three-time champion, an MVP, a six-time All-Star, a Cy Young Award winner and an Oakland A's Hall of Famer. Vida will always be a franchise legend and a friend. We send our deepest condolences to his family and friends during this arduous time."

Blue spent nine of his 17 seasons in Oakland. He also pitched for the San Francisco Giants and Kansas City Royals.

The lefty had a historic season in 1971, going 24-8 with a 1.82 ERA and 301 strikeouts over 312 innings. That earned him AL Cy Young and MVP honors in his third MLB season.

Blue also made his first All-Star Game that year, and he and the Pittsburgh Pirates’ Dock Ellis became the first two African American pitchers to start in the event.
“I don’t know what [that game] did for baseball, but it gave the Black community a chance to be proud of having two Black pitchers start an All-Star Game,” Blue told Andscape in 2019.

He went on to garner five more All-Star nods. He was traded to the Giants in a seven-player swap in 1978 and played for San Francisco until 1981, then spent the 1982 and '83 seasons in Kansas City. He missed time in 1983 and '84 as he dealt with a drug addiction, eventually returning to the Giants for the following two years.

After the 1983 season, Blue and several former teammates pled guilty to attempting to purchase cocaine. Blue later told the San Francisco Chronicle that he believed his drug problems barred him from the Hall of Fame.

"I had some issues in my life that might have had a tendency to sway voting," Blue said. "There are some guys in the Hall of Fame who don't have halos."

Blue stayed close to the game in retirement. Most recently, he was an analyst for Giants broadcasts.
Two of his former teams, the Athletics and Royals, finish a three-game series on Sunday at Kauffman Stadium.

Richard Dreyfuss Speaks Out About The Academy's New Inclusivity Rules: 'No One Should Tell Me What To Do As An Artist'
Richard Dreyfuss is not a fan of The Academy‘s newly implemented inclusivity rules.
The 75-year-old actor, who is best known for his roles in Mr. Holland’s Opus, Jaws and What About Bob?, is blasting The Academy over the rules, which go into effect next year.

The 2024 Academy Awards will feature four new diversity and inclusion standards, which were announced in 2020. To be eligible for the best picture category, at least two of these standards must be satisfied.

The four standards have a common goal of promoting diversity in on-screen representation, themes, and narratives, promoting diversity among leadership and department heads, providing opportunities to underrepresented groups, and expanding representation in audience development.

Richard, however, is speaking out against the rules, in a new interview with PBS’s Firing Line With Margaret Hoover, via Variety.

“It’s an art. No one should be telling me as an artist that I have to give in to the latest, most current idea of what morality is,” he said on the program. “What are we risking? Are we really risking hurting people’s feelings? You can’t legislate that.”

He went on, “You have to let life be life. I’m sorry, I don’t think there is a minority or majority in the country that has to be catered to like that.”

While speaking on the rules, Richard also seemingly spoke out in support of blackface, specifically about Laurence Olivier‘s performance in 1965′s Othello.

Laurence wore blackface in the movie.
“He played a Black man brilliantly. Am I being told that I will never have a chance to play a Black man? Is someone else being told that if they’re not Jewish, they shouldn’t play [in] The Merchant of Venice? Are we crazy?” Richard reacted. “This is so patronizing. It’s so thoughtless and treating people like children.”

Nelly And Ashanti Romance: ‘They Are Very Happy’
Nelly got his bae back. After being seen together at the Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia fight, Nelly and Ashanti appeared to be an item once again. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, a source stated they are elated about their reunion.
“Both of them are very happy,” a source said. Another added that they are “enjoying their time together.”

The two sat together at the fight and were also spotted holding hands as they left. Many on social media want to know, are they back together?
After the event, 50 Cent and Bow Wow had two cents to add.

King Charles and Queen Camilla's Official Coronation Portraits Revealed! See the Regal Photos
King Charles and Queen Camilla's coronation is not complete without some official photos!
Following their crowning ceremony on Saturday, the royal couple posed for official coronation portraits at Buckingham Palace. Photographer Hugo Burnand got behind the camera for the historic snaps — after previously acting as Charles and Camilla's wedding photographer in 2005. (He clearly aced the assignment as he was tapped by the royals again to take the official portraits of Prince William and Kate Middleton on their 2011 wedding day.)

On Monday, Buckingham Palace released the first official portrait of King Charles.

For the monarch's solo shot, King Charles was in full royal regalia in the Throne Room, wearing the Imperial State Crown and Robe of Estate while holding the Sovereign's Orb and Sovereign's Sceptre with Cross. For the portrait, he sat on one of a pair of 1902 throne chairs that were made for the future King George V and Queen Mary for use at the coronation of King Edward VII.

In another portrait, King Charles and Queen Camilla posed together in the Throne Room at Buckingham Palace. The Queen wore Queen Mary's Crown and her Robe of Estate.
Queen Camilla posed for a solo portrait in the Green Drawing Room while wearing Queen Mary's Crown and her Robe of Estate.

A group photo showed King Charles and Queen Camilla with working members of the royal family, including Prince William and Kate Middleton. Also in the picture were the Duke of Kent, the Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke of Gloucester, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, Princess Anne, Sophie the Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Alexandra and Prince Edward the Duke of Edinburgh.

To cap off the coronation weekend, King Charles also released a special message in conjunction with the portraits.

"As the coronation weekend draws to a close, my wife and I just wanted to share our most sincere and heartfelt thanks to all those who have helped to make this such a special occasion," he said in the statement. "We pay particular tribute to the countless people who have given their time and dedication to ensuring that the celebrations in London, Windsor and further afield were as happy, safe and enjoyable as possible."

"To those who joined in the celebrations — whether at home, at street parties and lunches or by volunteering in communities — we thank you, each and every one," he continued. "To know that we have your support and encouragement, and to witness your kindness expressed in so many different ways, has been the greatest possible coronation gift, as we now rededicate our lives to serving the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and Commonwealth."

The note was signed, "Charles R," standing for "Rex," the Latin word for King.
While King Charles' official portrait shows him in the Imperial State Crown, he wore two crowns on his coronation day. During the ceremony, he was pronounced King with the St. Edward's Crown, which weighs nearly 5 lbs and was first created for King Charles II in 1661. However, he exited Westminster Abbey in the Imperial State Crown. This particular crown is slightly less heavy — but just as stunning with its 2,868 diamonds and colored stones, including 17 sapphires, 11 emeralds and 269 pearls.

Despite some rain, the coronation festivities went off without a hitch. Well-wishers lined the streets to catch of glimpse of the Coronation Procession following the crowning ceremony at Westminster Abbey, then made their way to Buckingham Palace to see the royal family appear on the balcony to watch a flypast (which was scaled down due to the weather — but not canceled completely, as some worried might happen).

Esteemed royals photographer Chris Jackson shared a balcony snap from a different perspective — inside the palace! King Charles and Queen Camilla waved to the crowd gathered down The Mall in London.

"An honour to shoot 'behind the scenes' and a never seen before angle from today's historic Coronation, what a day!!!!!! Save a πŸ₯‚ for me! πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§," he captioned the pic on social media.
The coronation of the first of a British monarch in the 21st century — but that's not the only reason it made the history books.

At the May 6 coronation, Charles, 74, and Camilla, 75, became the oldest King and Queen Consort crowned in British history. The oldest British monarchs to be crowned before King Charles were King William IV (who became sovereign at age 64 in 1830), King Edward VII (who was 59 in 1901) and King George IV (who took the throne at age 57 in 1820).

Meanwhile, Queen Camilla broke the record previously held by Queen Alexandra, who was 58 when she was crowned as Queen Consort in 1902.

Da Baby Discusses 2021 Homophobic Comments; Says He Would Have Handled Things Differently
During an appearance on The Shop Uninterrupted, Da Baby reflected on the controversial homophobic comments he made in 2021, saying he would do things differently if possible.

The Charlotte, North Carolina, native talked about when he offended the LGBTQ community with comments he made during his 2021 Rolling Loud performance.
He admitted to Maverick Carter that he wished he would’ve handled the situation differently and regrets how it unfolded.

“Absolutely,” DaBaby said. “That’s what came out my own mouth and said as of late, not even as of late, I would maybe handled it the way he handled it. I apologized, but I didn’t mean to apologize because I’m this type of person.”

“I’m gonna fight to the tooth and nail, like if I, you know what I mean? My character and my intentions – that’s something I am never going to let you make me out, I’m not a bad person. I’m unfaltering on that.”

DaBaby disappointed many after he made controversial comments at the 2021 Rolling Loud performance in Miami. He referenced his fans in the LGBTQ community and sexually transmitted diseases, saying, “If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that’ll make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cellphone lighter up,” he told attendees at the time. “Ladies, if your pu*** smell like water, put your cellphone lighter up. Fellas, if you ain’t sucking dick in the parking lot, put your cellphone lighter up.”

Although he tried to clarify his statements after the incident, the damage was done. He was ousted by several music festivals and other fellow music artists, including Dua Lipa, Elton John, Questlove, and more.

He attempted to issue an official apology on Instagram but stirred the pot even more after deleting the post days later.

Here’s what we know about the slain Texas mall massacre suspect, Mauricio Garcia
DALLAS — The gunman who killed at least eight people and wounded a half-dozen more at a Dallas-area outlet mall was a 33-year-old suspected neo-Nazi sympathizer, two senior law enforcement officials said Sunday.

Allen police on Sunday identified the shooter as Mauricio Garcia. Garcia was killed Saturday by a police officer who happened to be at Allen Premium Outlets, about 25 miles north of Dallas, police said.

The gunman, who lived in Dallas, was armed with an "AR-15 style assault weapon," President Joe Biden said.
He was wearing a tactical vest and also had a handgun, one of the senior law enforcement officials said.

More weapons and ammunition were found in his car, the source said. At the time of the massacre, he was wearing a patch on his chest that included the acronym "rwds," according to two senior law enforcement officials. Authorities believe the letters stand for "right wing death squad," a phrase used in far-right online spaces, one of the senior law enforcement officials added.

A preliminary review of what is believed to be the shooter’s social media accounts reveal hundreds of posts that include racially or ethnically motivated violent extremist rhetoric, including neo-Nazi material and material espousing white supremacy, two senior law enforcement officials said.

The officials stressed that the investigation is ongoing. The preliminary review found that the gunman’s social media posts were not liked or shared by other users.

Police and the Texas Rangers, working with the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, are investigating the shooting as a case of racial or ethnically motivated violent extremism, two senior law enforcement officials said.

Authorities believe the shooter acted alone, one of the officials said. Investigators are interviewing his relatives and friends.
It was the second deadliest mass shooting in the U.S. this year and the second in Texas in a little over a week.

A next-door neighbor of the suspect, who asked to be identified only as Julie, said she would see Garcia going to and coming home from work every day like clockwork.

“He tried to acknowledge us but seemed a little off," Julie said. "He wasn’t somebody you could carry a conversation with."
Julie said she was stunned when she learned the suspect’s identity.
“You could have knocked me over with a feather when I found out,” she said.

Another neighbor, Gilda Bailey, said three police squad cars were parked outside his house when she got home. She said that they would not let the suspect's relatives inside the residence and that she later saw the FBI removing items from Garcia's home.

“I don’t understand what triggered him,” Bailey said.
Another neighbor said living so close to a suspected mass killer was "chilling."

“Just the thought of living a few houses down from someone who can do this can be a little scary and give you more caution,” said Moises Carreon, 52. “I don’t know why people want to shoot innocent people for any reason.”
