#FASHIONFAB: Queen Mother Angela Bassett in Pamella Roland Hot or Not?
Angela Bassett was in full bloom for the 2023 British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs).
On Sunday, Bassett arrived at the Royal Festival Hall in London for the occasion, wearing an elegant lavender gown — a custom design by designer Pamella Roland. Her ensemble — which stylist Jennifer Austin revealed on Instagram was inspired by tulips and springtime — featured a halter-neck silhouette with cutout shoulders and a slit skirt, as well as draped ballooned silk sleeves. A matching crystal-coated Judith Lieber minaudiΓ¨re, as well as sparkling feather-shaped drop earrings from Boucheron, glamorously completed Bassett’s outfit.
Finishing Bassett’s outfit was a blue silk ribbon pin, attached to the top of her gown. The ribbon — printed with #WithRefugees lettering — was distributed by the United Nations’ UNHCR at the BAFTAs to show solidarity with displaced refugees worldwide.

I loved it. But I am asking you is it HOT or NOT?

#RHOP: Robyn Dixon Explains Why Juan Missed the RHOP Season 7 Reunion
The RHOP cast member shared with Andy Cohen where Juan was during the reunion taping. Get the details.
The Real Housewives of Potomac cast has certainly experienced their fair share of chatter and rumors throughout Season 7. And now allegations that were brought up after the season ended are getting attention and were briefly addressed during Part 1 of the RHOP Season 7 reunion, which aired on Sunday, February 19.

The opening moments of the reunion touched on a Reasonably Shady podcast episode, which was dropped on Patreon, in which Robyn Dixon addressed the situation involving Juan Dixon communicating with a woman, which she also later talked about on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen back in early February (clip at the bottom of the post).

On Sunday’s RHOP episode, before sitting down on the couches with the rest of the cast to reflect on the ups and downs of the season, Robyn spoke with Andy Cohen backstage, and he wanted to know if Juan would be joining her at the reunion.

“No, he’s working,” she told Andy. He responded, “I thought so.”

In the WWHL clip, Robyn goes into detail about the situation involving Juan, adding that she believes him and his explanation for why he was communicating with the woman. “It sounded like BS to me, honestly,” she said, but she added that once she learned the full story, she changed her mind.

Robyn and Juan remarried in the Season 7 finale, which aired back on February 5. On the reunion set, while catching up with the ladies before breaking down the drama of the season, Andy asked how married life was treating the newlyweds for the second time. “It feels good,” she says in the clip above. “We’ve been together forever, but there is just something a little bit more legit about it.”

This incident with the woman allegedly took place before Juan and Robyn married again. Robyn will address more about the allegations regarding Juan later on in the Season 7 reunion. According to a press release, the upcoming Part 3 of the Season 7 reunion, which airs on March 5, is a supersize 90-minute episode and “Andy has a special post-reunion conversation with Robyn and dives into Robyn’s bombshell admission that Juan was inappropriately communicating with another woman prior to their wedding.”

#HipHopNews: Gunna's Legal Team Denies He Snitched On Young Thug
Gunna’s lawyer has issued a statement surrounding the ongoing allegations that his client cooperated with authorities in the YSL RICO case.
Gunna (real name Sergio Kitchens) was released from jail in December after signing an Alford plea and in turn pleading guilty to a racketeering conspiracy charge.

He was sentenced to five years with one year served due to the time he spent behind bars after being arrested last May as part of the sweeping indictment against YSL, which prosecutors allege is a “criminal street gang.”

The DS4Ever rapper has faced an onslaught of snitching allegations since pleading out but has insisted from day one that he never snitched on anyone.
“While I have agreed to always be truthful, I want to make it perfectly clear that I have NOT made any statements, have NOT been interviewed, have NOT cooperated, have NOT agreed to testify or be a witness for or against any party in the case and have absolutely NO intention of being involved in the trial process in any way,” he said in a statement following his release from jail.

Gunna’s plea deal has been a talking point amongst rappers and fans alike, and following an Okayplayer article that interviewed legal experts to discuss Alford pleas, Gunna’s legal team commented on the story and reaffirmed their client’s innocence, claiming he “never” cooperated with authorities.

“Gunna has never been interviewed by or cooperated with law enforcement or prosecutors in the RICO case,” the statement read. “Nor have his attorneys proffered information on his behalf.”

They continued, “What was said at his Alford plea hearing was solely to resolve his own case. It cannot be used by the prosecution against Young Thug or any other defendant.”
Gunna’s team issued a statement reiterating that he has not cooperated w/ prosecutors after reading this article: “Gunna has never been interviewed by or cooperated with law enforcement or prosecutors in the RICO case. Nor have his attorneys proffered information on his behalf.” https://t.co/J3LvKKIX48

Full statement from attorney Sadow:
(Transparency: I, of course, reached out when I was reporting this story. They initially declined to comment out of concern that it wouldn’t help quiet the snitching rumors which were trending online a lot in January.) pic.twitter.com/3mR4vCJ2dp

While Gunna has kept a low profile since getting out of jail, that hasn’t stopped people from clowning him for his alleged snitching. He was recently taunted yet again by a Gunna impersonator on YouTube, which the Atlanta rapper seemed to respond to with numerous laughing emojis on his Instagram Story.

As for Young Thug, the YSL leader has suffered a string of bad luck during the jury selection process in the RICO trial. Thug’s lawyer Brian Steele previously claimed that a potential juror had attempted to reach out to him via email. While the contents of the message weren’t disclosed during the hearing, it was enough for the judge to order an investigation.

Young Thug and Gunna’s ongoing YSL RICO case has also been turned into a Hulu documentary set to air on February 23.

The hour-long documentary, made by ABC News Studios, is titled Rap Trap: Hip-Hop on Trial and will focus on the sprawling criminal case against Thug, Gunna and their Atlanta-based collective while exploring the debate around rap lyrics being used as evidence in criminal prosecutions.

DA drops gun enhancement charge against Alec Baldwin in 'Rust' shooting
The Santa Fe District Attorney's Office announced Monday it is dropping the gun enhancement charge -- a crime that would have carried a five-year sentence if convicted -- against Alec Baldwin in the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of "Rust" in October 2021.

Baldwin still faces a charge of involuntary manslaughter for the shooting, however, that crime would carry a lesser sentence of 18 months if convicted. The amended complaint was filed late Friday.

The charge was also dropped against armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who faces the same involuntary manslaughter charge as Baldwin.
"In order to avoid further litigious distractions by Mr. Baldwin and his attorneys, the District Attorney and the special prosecutor have removed the firearm enhancement to the involuntary manslaughter charges in the death of Halyna Hutchins on the 'Rust' film set," Santa Fe District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies said in a statement. "The prosecution's priority is securing justice, not securing billable hours for big-city attorneys."

The decision to drop the charge was a win for Baldwin, who makes his first court appearance on Friday.

Baldwin's legal team filled a motion Feb. 10 arguing that the five-year gun enhancement didn’t apply at the time of the shooting writing, "The prosecutors committed a basic legal error by charging Mr. Baldwin under a version of the firearm-enhancement statute that did not exist on the date of the accident." The accident occurred in October of 2021, but the current version of the law did not take effect until May 2022.

A week prior, his legal team filed a motion to disqualify Andrea Reeb, the special prosecutor appointed by Carmack-Altwies, arguing she is also an elected member of the New Mexico House of Representative and therefore has a conflict of interest.

After the motion to dismiss the gun enhancement charge, the district attorney released a statement that also criticized his "fancy attorneys."
"Another day, another motion from Alec Baldwin and his attorneys in an attempt to distract from the gross negligence and complete disregard for safety on the 'Rust' film set that led to Halyna Hutchins' death," Heather Brewer, spokesperson for the New Mexico First Judicial District Attorney, said. "In accordance with good legal practice, the District Attorney and the special prosecutor will review all motions -- even those given to the media before being served to the DA. However, the DA's and the special prosecutor's focus will always remain on ensuring that justice is served and that everyone -- even celebrities with fancy attorneys -- is held accountable under the law."

'The Marvels' Gets Pushed Back
"The Marvels" has been pushed back by four months. The upcoming sequel to 2019's "Captain Marvel" was scheduled for release on July 28 but has been pushed back until November 10.

Additionally, Marvel has shared a new poster for the Nia DaCosta-helmed flick featuring Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Iman Vellani (Ms. Marvel), and Teyonah Parris (Monica Rambeau). Hollywood legend Samuel L. Jackson also reprises his role as Nick Fury alongside Zawe Ashton as the villain.

The film also follows 2021's "WandaVision" and 2022's "Ms. Marvel". It focuses on the aftermath of the events of "Ms. Marvel" as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Ms. Marvel/Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), and Spectrum/Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) begin swapping places with each other every time they use their powers and must team-up to figure out why.

Brie previously admitted she doesn't know if "anyone wants" her to keep playing Captain Marvel. The 33-year-old actress has faced a huge backlash ever since she was cast in the title role of the 2019 movie and, while she reprises the character, who is also known as Carol Danvers, in "The Marvels", she admitted she's not sure whether she'll be back for another project.

Appearing at the D23 Expo to present a first look at the film, Brie was asked how long she will play Captain Marvel. She replied to Variety, "I don't know. Does anyone want me to do it again?" But the actress enjoyed working with co-stars Iman and Teyonah. She told the audience, "It was really nice to have a team. I had a team!"

The Oscar-winning actress has faced criticism from Marvel fans for varying reasons including not smiling in the trailer for "Captain Marvel" and comments deemed sexist towards men after she previously called out the Marvel Cinematic Universe's lack of diversity and noting her press days "appeared to be overwhelmingly white male."

Chicago White Sox Minor League Baseball Player Anderson Comas Announces He Is Gay
Chicago White Sox Minor League baseball player Anderson Comas announced he is “proudly and happily part of the LGTBQ+ community,” in an Instagram post on Sunday.

“I’m also a human with a great soul, I’m respectful, I’m a lover, I love my family and friends and that’s what really matters, I enjoy my work a lot, being a professional baseball player is the best thing that happened to me so I just wanna say something to those people that says that gay people can not be someone in this life, well look at me I’m Gay and I’m a professional athlete so that didn’t stopped (sic) me to make my dreams come true,” Comas said.

Comas, 23, is a converted outfielder who now pitches. He spent last season in the White Sox single A team, the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers in North Carolina.

He warned that his Instagram post was not for everyone.
“If you’re homophobic this post may not (be) for you….so you can see we all matters and we all are the same…

“I’m doing this cause I wanna be an inspiration for those like me out there fitting for their dreams, please don’t listen to those stupid things that people say about us, fight for your dreams, believe in yourself and go for it,” he added.

Chris Getz, White Sox assistant general manager/player development, said the team was “proud” of Anderson and confirmed he “first shared his news with us last year,” in a Chicago White Sox tweet on Sunday.

“And I was very pleased that he was comfortable sharing with us in player development. I also was happy at the reaction across the organization, which as you would expect was to support, help and congratulate a teammate. With his social media post today, we are so proud of Anderson and that he is comfortable sharing such an important personal part of his life so openly,” Getz added.

Comas joins pitcher Solomon Bates, who came out as gay after being released in 2022 when he was a minor leaguer in the Giants organization, and former Brewers farmhand David Denson, who became the first openly gay active player in affiliated baseball in 2015.

Tyler Perry denies "House of Payne" actress Cassi Davis passed away
Lately, death hoax pranks have unfortunately become a thing, but Tyler Perry is making it known that he does not find them funny. Today (Feb. 20), the Madea creator hopped on Instagram to address a rumor that Cassi Davis, an actress in his series “House of Payne,” had passed away.

In a social media post, the filmmaker shared a screenshot of an article that read, “American actress Cassie Davis died of lung cancer at the age of 58.” In bold red text, Perry added, “This is a lie.” After asking his supporters to turn the “sound on” for the post, he noted that he’d gotten multiple phone calls and text messages from people upset that Davis died, which prompted him to see if the rumors were true. “I just talked to her on the phone, and she wasn’t dead, but let me call her back,” the New Orleans native said in the audio. He noted that after he got a hold of the 58-year-old, he asked her, “Cassi, you sure you not dead?” She jokingly responded that the food she was eating was so good that she might have been in Heaven. The actress informed him that she’d heard the rumor a few times before.

Along with the audio, Perry further explained the situation in the caption: “After I’ve gotten several calls from people giving me their condolences and I didn’t know what they were talking about, I was sent this article that’s going around. I don’t know how she could have died and nobody told me or her. So I called her and asked her was she dead, and she said, ‘Hell no!’ Can whoever is responsible for this please stop? You better be careful when you speak death over a child of God. This woman is loved by millions, and you’re hurting a lot of people. Cassi is fine living her best life with no worries, no cares, no social media and no drama. She’s waiting to shoot the next season of ‘House of Payne.’”
Earlier this year, Angela Bassett’s 16-year-old son Slater Vance made headlines after filming himself playing a death hoax prank on the Golden Globe Award-winning actress. In the clip, he told his mother that her Black Panther co-star Michael B. Jordan had passed away. Bassett and her husband were visibly shaken up by the terrible news before being told it was just a joke. The teen was participating in a TikTok trend where users would tell their loved ones a person they cared about had passed away and film their emotional reactions for a laugh. After Vance’s video went viral, he made another post condemning his actions. “I would sincerely like to apologize to Michael B. Jordan’s entire family, his extended family, and him directly, as he is an idol of mine. Taking part in a trend like this is completely disrespectful. I don’t wish any bad ramifications… of my actions upon his family nor my parents, as they deserve none of the backlash,” he said in part.

Former child actor Jansen Panettiere, Hayden Panettiere's brother, dies at 28
Jansen Panettiere, who acted in Disney Channel movies growing up alongside his sister Hayden Panettiere, died in New York City over the weekend, according to PEOPLE. He was 28. A cause of death is unknown at this time, but TMZ reports that foul play is not suspected.

Born on Sept. 25, 1994 in Palisades, New York, Jansen's first screen performance was a background role in an episode of Even Stevens on Disney Channel. He went on to do voiceover performances in animated movies and TV shows including Blue's Clues, Ice Age: The Meltdown, and The X's. In the latter, he voiced Truman X, the super-smart scion of a spy family.

Jansen appeared alongside Hayden twice, in the 2004 Disney Channel original movie Tiger Cruise and the 2012 straight-to-DVD film The Forger. He also voiced the younger version of the zebra in Racing Stripes, which starred Hayden in the lead role.

Jansen and Hayden apparently maintained a strong sibling relationship. As recently as Jan. 24, he posted a black-and-white photo to Instagram of Hayden trying to cut his hair. "Not the first haircut she's tried to give me," he wrote.

Jansen's final screen performances were in 2019, in the film How High 2 and a season 9 episode of The Walking Dead. Since then he apparently got more interested in visual art; many of his most recent Instagram posts are pictures of his colorful art pieces, including graffiti and shoe designs. "This is one of my personal favorites," he wrote in the caption for his last post.

Richard Gere hospitalized with pneumonia during family vacation
Richard Gere was recently hospitalized with pneumonia during a family trip.
TMZ initially reported that the 73-year-old actor caught pneumonia while vacationing in Mexico for his wife’s 40th birthday. A representative for Richard confirmed the news in a statement via email to NBC News but declined to comment further.

Before the family’s trip, Richard had a bad cough that continued to worsen. While was in Mexico, he had to check himself into a hospital, which is where he received his pneumonia diagnosis. The actor stayed overnight, but was released the following day.

Richard and his wife, Alejandra Gere (formerly Silva), were enjoying a family vacation ahead of her 40th birthday on Feb. 16.

She shared details of their trip on Instagram, posting a photo that captured her walking toward the water on a beach with the couple’s two children. In the caption, she also briefly mentioned some health struggles her family had over the last few weeks.

“Thank you all for the birthday wishes.. after almost 3 weeks of everyone being sick in our family today finally I feel much better!” she wrote. “Thank you for all the love I give it all back to you!”

On Feb. 18, she shared a sweet snap on her Instagram story of the couple walking hand-in-hand with their son. She simply captioned the photo, “Beach day.”
The couple got married in April 2018 after several years of dating and welcomed their first child together, a son named Alexander, in February 2019. Less than two years later, they welcomed their second child together, another son whose name has not been publicly shared.

Richard and Alejandra both have children from previous relationships. The “Pretty Woman” star shares 23-year-old son Homer James Jigme Gere with his ex-wife Carey Lowell while Alejandra has a son from a previous relationship.

The couple tends to keep details of their family life private, including their children's faces.

The Oldest Black Church In California's East Bay Devastated By Three-Alarm Fire
Sunday night, members of the oldest Black church in East Bay, California, were at a loss for words as the building went up in flames.
A video tweeted by Oakland Fire Department showed the First African Methodist Episcopal Church’s roof overwhelmed by flames and smoke shooting through. Shortly after midnight, the fire, which reportedly began at 37th and Telegraph, quickly evolved into a three-alarm fire.

Sixty minutes later, firefighters began to “administer an exterior flow of water to [the] burning structure to reduce the dangers of the fire spreading.”

“This is now a defensive firefight with three ladder pipes and crews on the ground putting water onto the roof and interior of the building,” the OFD tweeted.

While firefighters were able to determine the origin of the fire, the cause of it remains undetermined. No injuries were reported.

In a video uploaded on the congregation’s Facebook page, the church’s pastor, Rev. Rodney Smith, revealed more about the devastating fire.

“We don’t know why, we don’t know who, but it’s burning down,” he said as he stood near the scene. “But I promise you this: We will rise again.”

Later in the video, the pastor stated that the interior structure was “gutted,” and only the outer walls were still standing, although on fire.

The A.M.E. Church is the first and oldest Black church in the East Bay, dating to 1858, per the Oakland Public Library. It was the only African American church in Oakland for over three decades. According to the Online Archive of California, the church acted as the cultural center of the African American community.

In the video, the pastor also revealed that the church was also the first school for people of color at a time when only white children could attend public schools.

“First A.M.E. Church Oakland was educating Black people 20 years before we were able to get [a] public education,” he mentioned. “The church feeds the community, serves the community in every way.”

“I’m completely devastated, completely at a loss for words,” he added. “We need your prayers.”

Angus Cloud, Known As ‘Fezco’ Of Hit HBO ‘Euphoria,’ Is Reportedly Wanted By California Police For An Alleged Hit-An-Run
#Socialites get a load of this! Angus Cloud, the actor responsible for the beloved Euphoria character Fezco is purportedly wanted by police for an alleged hit-and-run incident.

The incident occurred in Marina Del Rey on February 14, when eyewitnesses allege they saw Cloud and another individual driving in an SVU, rear-ended a Toyota. Witnesses claim the SVU drove off from the scene of the fender bender into a nearby parking lot. The female driving in the Toyota that was struck by the SVU suffered injuries including bruising and redness to her legs and arms.

After the accident occurred, witnesses connected to the victim went into the parking lot to look for Angus and the other man in the SVU. They found the car, however, Cloud and the other man were not inside the car or in the parking lot, allegedly fleeing the scene.

According to information obtained from law enforcement by TMZ, Cloud has not been officially named as a suspect in the hit-and-run case, however, his name is being mentioned for his “possible involvement.” Police want to speak with  Cloud to determine whether or not he may be involved in the crash and or the person responsible for the wreck. It’s also worth noting that a hit-and-run offense can be charged as a felony in the state of California. News of Cloud’s purported involvement in the crash has begun circulating amid the ongoing conversation about the season three renewal of the teen drama series. Among the major talking points about the show is the departure of actor Barbie Ferreira, who assumed the fierce role of the character Kat, following rumors of a rift forming between herself and the series creator Sam Levinson. Ferreira bid a farewell to the show, cast and her character in a “teary-eyed,” Instagram Stories post last August.

Additionally, even though the new volume of the series has already been greenlit, episodes aren’t expected to air until 2024 — due to the grueling production schedule of the show.

“We shoot these episodes in like a month each,” said Colman Domingo, who portrays the show character Ali Mohammed — a Narcotics Anonymous sponsor. “It takes a while. It takes so long because there are a lot of frames. If you look at the show, there are a lot of tiny, tiny scenes. Sam [Levinson] is very meticulous in such a gorgeous way. It’s gonna be worth the wait.”

As it pertains to Cloud’s drug-dealing character on the show, fans of the series will also have to wait some time for confirmation of whether or not Fezco will return for season three. As a result of the season two cliffhanger, in which Fezco was accidentally shot by his adoptive brother Ash during a police raid, it was never revealed whether or not Fez survived the ordeal.

Russell Westbrook reportedly will sign with Clippers after reaching buyout with Jazz
Russell Westbrook's short-lived time on the Utah Jazz roster is coming to an end soon. ESPN reported on Monday that Westbrook plans to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers after completing a contract buyout with the Jazz.

Westbrook had about $13.2 million left on his contract this season.
The guard came to the Jazz as part of a trade deadline deal that sent Mike Conley to Minnesota, and Malik Beasley and Jarred Vanderbilt to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Utah management said it was open to having the former MVP point guard join its rebuilding team, but made it clear what he should expect if he did report to Utah.
"We wanted to be very transparent about where we are as an organization," Jazz general manager Justin Zanik said in the days after the trade was completed.

That meant the Jazz would welcome Westbrook onto the team but were going to prioritize their young players over a role for the former All-Star guard.

Utah made the trade in order to get a future first-round pick from the Lakers; Westbrook's contract was simply part of the cost of getting that asset.

If he wanted to have a more consistent role on a team — or any role at all — it would be best for all parties to reach an agreement on a buyout.
Utah allowed Westbrook to take time to consider his options, though — to decompress a bit and find a new landing spot. In the days since the trade, Westbrook's camp has discussed deals with teams.

And now, he appears to have found a new home — one that is in the same place as his old one.

Jermaine Dupri Confirms Diddy Verzuz is Happening
The long-awaited Verzuz battle between super producers Jermaine Dupri and Diddy has finally been given the green light.

This battle has been brewing since the “Money Ain’t a Thing” creator called out Diddy in 2021, challenging him to go hit for hit. The Bad Boy founder is responsible for the careers of iconic acts such as Notorious B.I.G. and Mary J. Blige, while So So Def’s leader has helped usher in big names such as Bow Wow and Da Brat. Aside from their long list of production credits, both men have achieved their own chart success, which is why a Verzuz of this magnitude was one of the urban legends for a while. However, Dupri has confirmed that the time has finally come for a hip-hop face-off like none other.

During his recent sit down with the I Am Athlete podcast, JD broke the news that the Verzuz will take place this year.
“It’s coming next year,” he revealed. “It’s gonna be like the Super Bowl,” confirming that the legendary concert will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

This is the first time Diddy and Dupri’s Verzuz has been given a solid update. Last year, Diddy took to IG Live with JD, where he let it be known that he was ready.

“JD, if you want that smoke, you can get that smoke anytime,” Diddy told his qualified competitor.

Though no date has been unveiled, at least fans have something to look forward to, as this highly anticipated night will surely go down as one of the Verzuz franchise’s best battles.

Balmain and Puma Team Up For Basketball Collaboration
Starting on February 18, Balmain and Puma are teaming up for a basketball collection.
This is creative director of Balmain, Olivier Rousteing, second time collaborating with the athletic brand. He described the collab as a “mix of Balmain’s modern Parisian luxury codes.”

“Obviously, I loved creating that capsule—but for this second time around, I really wanted to set our focus on the thrills of basketball. Over here, we’re all big fans of le basket and French people are extremely dedicated to their favorite American teams. Plus, honestly, is there any group of athletes more fashionable than basketball players? So, I’ve long believed that a mix of Balmain’s modern Parisian luxury codes and b- ball emotion would make for the perfect combination—and I am very happy that PUMA has joined with me and my team to help prove that hypothesis.”

The basketball sneakers have been transformed into a golden Balmain logo tongue.
