#RHOA: Kandi Burruss Shares Inspiring Message on What Black Girl Magic Means to Her: "We Make Things Happen"
The Real Housewives of Atlanta singer and The Real Housewives of Orange County's Noella Bergener share inspiring messages for Black History Month.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta's Kandi Burruss and The Real Housewives of Orange County's Noella Bergener are sharing inspiring messages about what Black girl magic means to them during Black History Month in a video posted on The Daily Dish's Instagram account.

“To me, Black girl magic just means that we are magical. Meaning that we make things happen that people think can’t happen," Kandi shared in the Instagram video. (In the video at the top of the post, Kandi as well as Summer House's Ciara Miller and The Real Housewives of Miami's Guerdy Abraira go into more detail on the importance of Black History Month. You can hear what they have to share, above.)

She went on to add, "We’re able to walk in the room and people see our dust, our pixie dust. Because we’re so fabulous! You know? And we make a way when people say there’s no way. And that’s the magic."

Noella mirrored that sentiment, saying, "Black girl magic is exactly that. It is magical. It’s our roots! It’s American freaking roots. From what we listen to, to what we eat, to what we wear. Everything that’s great in America, started with a Black woman."

You can check out more from Kandi and Noella in the full video, HERE.

#NewMusic from PJ Morton – Good Morning (featuring Susan Carol)
R&B star PJ Morton has just unveiled his new single “Good Morning” featuring Susan Carol.
What makes things most interesting about the song is it would have never found the light of day if his fans did not convince him to release it. The song was originally started back in 2017 during when the “Gumbo” album was in the works but never found the right home on any album after that.

“Good Morning” finally has it’s moment, and has turned into a duet with Susan Carol.

#HipHopNews: Post Malone Rejected From Bar Because Of His Tattoos
Even Post Malone gets turned away at the door. The “Circles” superstar was denied entry to a hotel in Perth, Australia, because of his face and neck tattoos. According to Rolling Stone, he attempted to enter the rooftop bar at the QT hotel on Sunday night, but was turned away by security for violating the venue’s strict dress code, which prohibits “face, neck, and offensive tattoos.”

“They turned me away for my tattoos,” Post told The West Australian. “I’ve never really experienced anything like that.”

In a statement to Daily Mail Australia on Monday, QT Hotels issued an apology.
“At QT, we aim to welcome everyone and celebrate the uniqueness of each individual. QT has been recognized for this for many years,” the statement read. “However, on Saturday night, our third-party security did not exercise the appropriate discretion, and we take full responsibility for this. We sincerely apologize to the individuals affected.”

But Post didn’t let the incident spoil his night. He ended up at another nearby rooftop bar where he reportedly bought drinks for fans.
Post was in Australia for his six-date stadium tour with Red Hot Chili Peppers, which wrapped Sunday. The shows followed last year’s “Twelve Carat Tour” with Roddy Ricch.

Post is known for his extensive tattoo collection. He has around a dozen on his face, including “Always Tired’ under his eyes, barbed wire across his hairline, and a forehead tattoo featuring his daughter’s initials, DDP.

While performing on tour, Post alarmed fans with his slim appearance, leading to speculation that he was battling illness or addiction. However, sources tell TMZ that he is healthy and the weight loss is due to him exercising and adhering to a strict diet.

#TRAGIC: 3 killed, 5 wounded at Michigan State campus shooting; suspect dead
East Lansing — A suspected gunman who killed three people and wounded several others on the campus of Michigan State University was founded dead late Monday night from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

The 43-year-old suspect was located off campus and died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, MSU Police Interim Deputy Chief Chris Rozman said. A campuswide shelter-in-place order was lifted shortly after midnight Tuesday.
"This truly has been a nightmare that we are living tonight," Rozman said at a 12:30 a.m. press conference.

The suspect was not affiliated with MSU as a student or employee, Rozman said.
"We have no idea why he came to campus to do this tonight," Rozman said at a 1:30 a.m. press conference.
Just after 11:30 p.m., MSU police confirmed three individuals had been killed in addition to five victims who were transferred to a Lansing hospital. At 1 a.m. Tuesday, all five remained in critical condition, Sparrow Hospital spokesman John Foren said.

Students embrace after a shelter in place order was given to students on the campus of Michigan State University, February 13, 2023.
It was not immediately clear if any of the victims are MSU students or faculty, Rozman said.

The shootings occurred in Berkey Hall and the nearby MSU Student Union building along Grand River Avenue on the north end of MSU's campus near downtown East Lansing.
Law enforcement agencies were working to determine a motive in the campus slayings, Rozman said.
"We are unsure of any affiliation that the suspect had to the university," Rozman said.
Rozman later added: "We have absolutely no information about what the motive was and I can't even imagine what the motive may be."
Rozman said his understanding is that there was some contact with police just prior to the suspect shooting himself.

A section of Lake Lansing Road near East Lansing was shut down just after midnight with a heavy police presence. Police set up a tent in the area.
With the shelter-in-place order lifted, parents can come to campus in East Lansing to pick up their children, university officials said.

MSU leaders were reeling from the deadly shooting.

"We cannot allow this to continue to happen again," MSU Interim President Woodruff said at a 1:30 a.m. press conference.

MSU canceled classes for Tuesday and Wednesday.

“The whole MSU’s heart goes out to the victims and their families," said Dan Kelly, vice chair of the MSU Board of Trustees.
Marlon Lynch, vice president for public safety and MSU's chief of police, said the campus would remain an active crime scene for the next two days.

"I can't say that it will be business as usual, because it's not," Lynch said. "... Healing will begin as soon as possible."

How ordeal started
The university said the first shots were fired inside Berkey Hall at 8:18 p.m. on the north end of campus near Grand River and Farm Lane.
"We received multiple 911 calls of a shooting inside Berkey Hall," Rozman said. "Numerous officers responded. We were quickly on scene within minutes. And there we did locate several victims of a shooting."

Police then responded to reports of a shooting at the MSU Student Union on Abbot Road, Rozman said. The suspected shooter was seen leaving the Student Union on foot on the north side of the building on Abbot Road and Grand River Avenue, he said.

"We tended to the victims at both of those scenes and there was an overwhelming law enforcement response to campus to help with this situation," Rozman said.
The Michigan State Police released a surveillance camera image of the suspect, whom police described as a Black male, shorter in statute, wearing red shoes, a jean jacket and a baseball cap.

Gunshots reportedly were later heard at nearby Snyder-Phillips Hall, where police began swarming the building with guns drawn. IM East was investigated afterward, according to MSU police.

Rozman said there were multiple false reports of gunfire at other buildings across campus.
"Obviously that's going to be part of the investigation in terms of where those phone calls came from," Rozman said.

MSU spokeswoman Emily Guerrant initially said there was one fatality from the shooting inside Berkey Hall, which houses the College of Social Science, the Institute for Public Policy and Social Research and the Department of Sociology, according to MSU's website. MSU later confirmed three were dead.

Five shooting victims were transported to nearby Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Foren said. There was no immediate information about their condition, he said.

As news of the active shooter emergency at MSU spread across the Lansing area, Sparrow employees rushed to the hospital or called and asked if they could volunteer to respond to the shooting, Foren said.
The emergency department didn’t need volunteers, he said.“We actually sent most of them home,” Foren said. “We did have a lot of people who stepped up.”

Down the street from Berkey inside the Broad museum, students and staff could be seen sheltering in place inside, wrapped in blankets. One woman stopped a reporter to ask how she could get her daughter out of her dorm. Police had blocked off access to the building.

Alexis Dinkins, an MSU sophomore, was inside Akers Hall, a dormitory on campus, when she heard people barricading doors and shouting, “Go. Go. Go.” So she said she and other students started to run out of Akers.

As they left the dorm, they encountered police who told them to go to a nearby bus stop.

“We don’t feel safe anywhere,” Dinkins said, standing with a group of students on a campus sidewalk after leaving Akers. She described the situation as “terrifying.”

“All I could do is just think about, ya know, nothing and everything at the same time,” said Matayia Newbern, 18, a freshman and sociology major standing outside IM East.

MSU police indicated that Berkey, Brody, Snyder-Phillips, Mason, Abbot and Landon halls had been cleared and secured as well as the MSU Union.

A police helicopter regularly circled over the campus as law enforcement closed down Grand River between Division and Abbot. Several different departments were on the scene, including agencies from neighboring departments, such as the Livingston County Sheriff's Department, Meridian Township police and the Ingham County Sheriff's Department.

Text messages were also sent out to students on campus at about 8:30 p.m. Monday.

"Secure in place immediately," the messages said. "Run, hide, fight."
At that point, before the shooting suspect was located, MSU police said campus activities were canceled for the next 48 hours and advised people not to come to the campus.

The shooting at MSU comes 14 months after a lone shooter killed four students and wounded six students and a teacher at Oxford High School. Ethan Crumbley, who was 15 at the time, pleaded guilty to the shooting in October and is awaiting a hearing where a judge will determine whether he should be sentenced to life in prison.

Law enforcement set up a unified command post at the Cowles House on campus. Michigan State Police as well as the FBI joined MSU campus police on campus.

At about 9:40 p.m., someone yelled from a campus dormitory window: “Did you catch him yet?”
Nearly 30 firetrucks, ambulances and other emergency vehicles were lined up outside of the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum on Grand River Avenue in downtown East Lansing.

At another point, two armed law enforcement officers escorted about 100 students down the sidewalk.

"I’ve been briefed on the shooting at Michigan State University," Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said on Twitter on Monday night. "The Michigan State Police along with @msupolice, local law enforcement and first responders are on the ground. Let’s wrap our arms around the Spartan community tonight. We will keep everyone updated as we learn more."

Nikki Haley announces presidential campaign, challenging Trump

Nikki Haley, the former South Carolina governor and United Nations ambassador, announced her candidacy for president on Tuesday, becoming the first major challenger to former President Donald Trump for the 2024 Republican nomination.

The announcement, delivered in a video, marks an about-face for the ex-Trump Cabinet official, who said two years ago that she wouldn’t challenge her former boss for the White House in 2024. But she changed her mind in recent months, citing, among other things, the country’s economic troubles and the need for “generational change,” a nod to the 76-year-old Trump’s age.

Haley, 51, is the first in a long line of Republicans who are expected to launch 2024 campaigns in the coming months. Among them are Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina.

President Joe Biden has said he intends to seek reelection in 2024, stalling any jostling for the Democratic nomination.

If elected, Haley would be the nation’s first female president and the first U.S. president of Indian descent.

The daughter of Indian immigrants, Haley grew up enduring racist taunts in a small South Carolina town and has long referenced that impact on her personal and political arc.

She was an accountant when she launched her first bid for public office, defeating the longest-serving member of the South Carolina House in 2004. Three terms later and with little statewide recognition, Haley mounted a long-shot campaign for governor against a large field of experienced politicians.

She racked up a number of high-profile endorsements, including from the sitting South Carolina governor, Mark Sanford, and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, a tea party darling.

With her 2010 victory, Haley became South Carolina’s first female and minority governor — and the nation’s youngest at 38. She earned a speaking slot at the 2012 Republican National Convention and gave the GOP response to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union in 2016.

Rihanna ‘doesn’t have an update’ on new music after Super Bowl halftime show And music streams spike
Rihanna “doesn’t have an update” on new music after revealing her pregnancy during Sunday’s Super Bowl 2023 halftime show.
The singer told Michael Strahan Monday during “Good Morning America” that she knows her fans want “more.”

The Grammy winner admitted, “They are waiting. I’m excited to actually put new music out, but I don’t have any updates for you on that yet.”
Fans feared as much when the 34-year-old debuted her baby bump in a head-to-toe red outfit at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., over the weekend.
“We really thought rihanna was giving us new music and a tour but this woman is having another baby,” one Twitter user wrote, with another joking that their bank account was no longer “at risk.”

The singer told Michael Strahan she knows her fans want “more.”
A third added, “all these rumors about rihanna going on tour and releasing new music and instead of that we got…fenty jr the second.”

The songwriter became a mom in May 2022 when she and A$AP Rocky welcomed a son.

Rihanna took to the Super Bowl LVII’s halftime show stage Sunday with a medley of her hit tracks. Individual songs spiked as much as 2600%, and her overall U.S. Spotify streams received an impressive 640% lift in the hour after the game ended.

DRAKE Files Motion to Get Out of the XXXTENTACION murder trial
Drake is trying to put the kibosh on getting deposed in the XXXTENTACION murder trial — and he's making some legal moves to try to get out of it.

The rapper filed a motion, through his attorney Bradford Cohen, asking the judge to set aside the subpoena requiring him to sit for a private deposition in late February.

As we reported, the judge was persuaded by arguments made by defense attorney Mauricio Padilla to call Drake as a witness in the case. Padilla represents Dedrick Williams, one of three defendants charged with killing XXX. The murder trial for the 3 men began last week.

According to the docs, obtained by TMZ, Padilla sent Drake a ZOOM link for the deposition without putting it under seal, which could have compromised Drake's security given that he’s an international star.

Several days later, the docs say Padilla filed a notice with the court but failed to include details on how the ZOOM interview with Drake would be conducted. As a result, Drake says the subpoena was procedurally defective.

Per the motion, Drake also claims his name never appeared in the investigative files and there's nothing to suggest he has any relevant knowledge about the case ... he believes it's unreasonable to ask him to sit for a deposition and says doing so is just an attempt to "add more layers of celebrity and notoriety to a tragic and unfortunate event."

The judge has yet to make a final ruling on Drake's motion.

Joshua Bassett Issues Statement After Getting Baptized By Anti-Gay Mega Church
Joshua Bassett is speaking out. The "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series" actor has issued a statement regarding him getting baptized by an anti-gay mega church despite him claiming he's part of the LGBT community.

On Monday, February 13, the 22-year-old actor turned to his Twitter account to address fan concern. "i visited this church and happened to get baptized here- i was unaware of some of their policies and beliefs, and do not endorse all of them," he declared, "my heart is for Christ and Christ alone!"
Joshua Bassett issued a statement regarding him getting baptized by anti-gay church.
The tweet garnered concern from fans, with many questioning why Joshua wouldn't have done more research before choosing to get baptized at the church. "Drive by baptism? Lol. If you truly believe in the purpose of being baptized why would you not research the people doing it…" wrote one user. Another wondered, "Nahh wait… You didn't research the church before getting baptized by them?"

Conversion therapy is the widely discredited practice of attempting to "cure" somebody's sexual orientation or gender identity through various means, including shock torture. The United Nations and World Health Organization have both condemned the use of conversion therapy.

The buzz arrived after Joshua uploaded a short video taken from a recent service at Bethel Church in Redding, California, in which he's seen on stage with a leader who asks about his decision to get baptized.

"Long story short, I grew up Christian and I ran the other way, as far as I could go in pursuit of truth and that only ended in addiction, depression, suicidal ideation, eating disorders, et cetera," he said in the clip. "And no other teacher gave me anywhere near the peace that Jesus Christ did," he concluded as the congregation broke into cheers and applause.
Joshua recently publicized his belief in Christianity on Twitter in the last few weeks. On January 5, he tweeted, "Jesus Christ is the only way. His death and resurrection are historically documented. turn away from hate, seek forgiveness and come home to Him."

Joshua also shared his spiritual journey during an interview with Rolling Stone. "A few months ago I asked God to 'send me a sign when I write the truth.' I typed 'Jesus is the way,' nothing happened, then I added, 'Jesus is the *only* way' and the light turned on in my living room," he said,

"I have also first hand encountered Jesus twice. The experiences were richer and more vivid than anything in my entire life. I look forward to speaking about it soon," he went on sharing, before concluding, "For those concerned about me be sure of this: I'm better than I have ever been. The peace I feel is far beyond what I thought possible."

‘AZUCAR’ Celia Cruz, the "Queen of Salsa," will be featured on U.S. quarter
Salsa music icon Celia Cruz will be featured on the U.S. quarter, the U.S. Mint announced, as it unveiled new faces of women who will be on the 2024 coins. She is believed to be the first Afro Latina to be on the coin.

The "Queen of Salsa" was a Cuban American singer and one of the most popular Latin artists of the last century. The honor comes after a lifetime of achievements, including five Grammy awards and a National Medal of Arts.

Cruz was 78 when she died in 2003 – and later received a Posthumous Lifetime Achievement Grammy.
The U.S. Mint listed the other winners as: Patsy Takemoto Mink, the first woman of color to serve in Congress; Dr. Mary Edwards Walker, a Civli War-era surgeon and abolitionist who crossed battle lines to care for wounded soldiers and the only woman to be awarded the Medal of Honor; Pauli Murray, a civil rights activist considered to be one of the "most important social justice advocates in the 20th century" and Zitkala-Ε a, an activist for Native Americans' right to U.S. citizenship.

The designs for the quarters will be released in mid-2023. The American Women's Quarters Program is meant to honor achievements made by women, according to the U.S. Mint.

Sharon Stone is paying tribute to her brother Patrick Stone, who died unexpectedly after going into cardiac arrest over the weekend.
“Hello everybody. This message is to confirm that yes, we did lose my bother Patrick Joseph Stone to a heart attack yesterday,” the “Basic Instinct” star said in an emotional video posted to Instagram Monday.

The “Casino” star then reflected on the “tremendous amount of loss” her family has faced over the past couple of years after losing Patrick and his 11-month-old son, River, back in August 2021.

“Yes he is the man who was the father to River who we lost last year … at 11 months old. He is survived by his wife, Tasha, and his son, Hunter, and his daughter, Kaylee. Like any family, we thank you for your love and support in this time of immeasurable grief and we appreciate all of your condolences.”

Sharon Stone reflected on all the “tremendous loss” her family has suffered over the past couple of years.

Visibly upset, Sharon concluded the video by asking her friends and followers to “be kind.”
“We do greatly understand that the loss is ours here on Earth and I thank you very much for the love and support that you’re showing us. We just ask that you to continue to be kind.”
Shortly after, Sharon posted a series of throwback photos with her late brother, captioned, “RIP my brother Patrick Joseph Stone. πŸ•Š️”

One of the images showed Sharon, 64, with her arm wrapped around Patrick’s shoulders as they stood outside in the sunshine.

In the second snap, Patrick smiled up at the camera as he lounged on the couch.
The post came just hours after a Pennsylvania coroner’s office told TMZ that Patrick had died amid a battle with heart disease.

His wife, Tasha, later spoke out about Patrick’s passing, saying, “My heart feels like it’s been ripped out of my chest. Patrick went to be with our sweet River … I don’t know what else to say, he was my world.”

She continued, “I’m not sure what life is supposed to look like without my husband by my side and quite honestly I don’t want to, but I will of course. I just hope that you always stay by my side watching over Hunter, Kaylee and I.”

White House Says There’s No Indication of Alien Activity with Recently Shot Down Objects
Monday, the White House shut down speculations that the three unidentified objects shot down were linked to extraterrestrial activity.
“There is no indication of aliens or extraterrestrial activity with these recent takedowns,” press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters at a briefing.

This came after a series of unidentified objects were shot down in U.S. airspace recently.
The talk of aliens made waves Sunday after Glen D. VanHerck, the commander of the Pentagon’s Northern Command, declared that he was not excluding it as a possibility.
“I’ll let the intel community and the counterintelligence community figure that out,” he said.
“I haven’t ruled out anything,” added VanHerck. “At this point, we continue to assess every threat or potential threat, unknown, that approaches North America with an attempt to identify it.”

Three objects were taken down over the weekend by the Biden administration. Friday, the US shot down an object at 40,000 feet over Alaskan airspace. Saturday, another object hovering over territory in northern Canada was shot down by the US military, and Sunday, an unidentified object over Lake Huron was shot down.
