#RHOA: SAT WHAT? Porsha Williams Cryptically Teases She May Leave the Show?
The Real Housewives of Atlanta fans are speculating whether Porsha Williams is hinting at possibly leaving the show. After sharing a seemingly cryptic quote to her Instagram about moving on to a new chapter, many onlookers are wondering which new beginnings Porsha is referring to. Her message is also coming out amid reports that the show's cast is in such disarray ahead of filming RHOA season 14. There have been reports that Porsha is reluctant to return for another season with the shade-throwing crew due to all the attention around her relationship with Simon Guobadia. Now, it looks like the chatter might be true and Porsha could be ready to check out.
Porsha has been under fire since announcing her relationship with Simon back in May following his appearance on Real Housewives of Atlanta season 13 as the husband of her "friend" Falynn Guobadia. Alas, upon announcing their new romance, Porsha declared that she and Falynn were not friends and that she started dating Simon after his divorce was finalized. Despite only being together for one month at the time of the Instagram announcement, Porsha and Simon were already engaged and planning to co-parent their children together as a family. Meanwhile, Porsha has ignored all the criticism coming her way over the controversial relationship. As she prepares to host three elaborate wedding ceremonies with Simon, it looks like she might be considering an official exit from RHOA.
Over the weekend, Porsha Williams took to her Instagram Story to post a cryptic message to her followers. "You can literally feel when it's time to move into your life's next chapter," the Dish Nation host said in a post captured by @realhousewivesfranchise (seen below). While Porsha could be referring to a number of things in her professional and personal lives, some fans think she's hinting at a potential RHOA departure considering the recent reports surrounding the casting shakeup that caused a delay in production. Moreover, insiders revealed how reluctant Porsha is to return for season 14 because of her relationship. Porsha reportedly doesn't want to deal with her RHOA co-stars attacking her for her relationship with Simon.
With all the controversy surrounding her newfound romance, Porsha is sure to be a topic of discussion in the new season. However, she successfully secured her mini spinoff, which will follow her family life and journey to marrying Simon. It's possible that Porsha has now become such a powerhouse on her own that she no longer needs to resort to a Housewives paycheck. As a host on Dish Nation and Bravo's Chat Room, Porsha is making frequent TV appearances without having to engage in vicious wars with her castmates.
Even if Porsha Williams does choose to leave The Real Housewives of Atlanta, the viewers don't look like they're letting up on calling out the hypocrisy. Production for season 14 was supposed to kick off later this year, but it has reportedly been pushed to early 2022 due to all the behind-the-scenes casting drama.
#MusicNews: Nick Cannon Says Only R. Kelly Could Do Verzuz Against Mariah Carey!
Nick Cannon remains his ex-wife’s biggest fan.
During his appearance on “The Breakfast Club” this week, the “Wild ‘N Out” creator was asked if there was anyone who could go up against Mariah Carey in a Verzuz battle.
“The only person in this day and age that could’ve gone against Mariah Carey—because she writes of all her songs, she actually produces all of her songs, she puts the songs together and performs them at a high level—[is] R. Kelly,” said Nick, who shares 10-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, with his ex.
He was met with silence from Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy, who eventually responded, “That ain’t gon’ happen.”
Nick admitted that it would never happen because of R. Kelly’s legal woes. “I told you it’s not gon’ happen because of his personal endeavors and all the things.”
Nick went on to praise his ex-wife’s songwriting ability. “Mariah is a musician,” he said. “I’m not impressed by people who can perform songs that it took 30 people to make with you.”
Charlamagne suggested that there are legendary artists like Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, and Rihanna who don’t necessarily write all their own music. However, Nick wasn’t as impressed.
“The greatest are the ones you can put somebody in a room by their damn self and they come back with a hit.”
He also floated the idea of a Verzuz between Mariah and Janet Jackson. “On that level of diva, I would love to see,” said Nick. “Mariah and Janet would be fire.”
But he still thinks that R. Kelly is the only worthy competitor. “If we talking about matching talents—because Mariah is a writer and has written more hits than anybody—the only other person I can think of that has that ability was R. Kelly,” he said.
Despite the sexual abuse allegations facing R. Kelly, Nick says that doesn’t diminish his talent. “We still gotta acknowledge that the man was gifted.”
#HipHopNews: Megan Thee Stallion Responds To Hip-Hop Addressing LGBTQ Hate – ‘It Is About Time’!
Megan Thee Stallion says it's about time hip-hop confronts its issues regarding homophobia in the culture.
In an interview with People.com, published on Friday (Aug. 6), the Houston rapper feels it's time for hip-hop to start combating hate and start embracing the LGBTQ+ community.
"It is about time," she said. "Representation is important, and it is really crucial for us all to have compassion and acceptance of every human."
Megan's comments follow recent events involving DaBaby and his misinformed and damaging remarks about AIDS and gay people at the 2021 Rolling Loud Miami Festival last month. Since then, the North Carolina rapper was kicked off from several music festivals because of his homophobic remarks.
On July 25, DaBaby made these statements during his Rolling Loud performance: "If you didn't show up today with HIV, AIDS, any of them deadly sexual transmitted diseases that'll make you die in two to three weeks, put your cell phone light in the air. Ladies, if your pussy smells like water, put a cell phone light in the air. Fellas, if you ain't suckin' dick in the parking lot, put your cell phone lights in the air."
DaBaby has since apologized directly to the LGBTQ+ community and expressed remorse for his "hurtful and triggering" comments.
Meanwhile, 11 HIV/AIDS and LGBTQ organizations, including GLAAD and Black AIDS Institute, issued an open letter on Wednesday (Aug. 4), inviting the 2019 XXL Freshman to a private, off-the-record meeting to educate him about the HIV/AIDS epidemic and why the homophobic comments he uttered at the 2021 Rolling Loud Miami Festival were misguided.
“We, the undersigned, represent organizations leading the fight to prevent HIV and provide care and treatment for people living with HIV, especially Black LGBTQ people across the Southern United States," the letter reads. "We heard your inaccurate and harmful comments at Rolling Loud and have read your Instagram apology. However, at a time when HIV continues to disproportionately impact Black Americans and queer and transgender people of color, a dialogue is critical. We must address the miseducation about HIV, expressed in your comments, and the impact it has on various communities.”
The organizations also believe DaBaby could be a strong advocate that can help spread accurate information about HIV and AIDS to the Black community.
"You can be a powerful and influential voice, especially across your home base in the South, where the Black community’s needs are notoriously under-represented across every public spectrum,” the letter continues. “We encourage you to share this information with your fans and followers, and become an agent of truth and change."
There's no word if DaBaby accepted their offer for an educational meeting.
DaBaby's controversial remarks at the Rolling Loud Festival have become a polarizing topic within the music community. Artists like Elton John, Madonna, Chika, Questlove, Dua Lipa and Demi Lovato have denounced DaBaby's comments, while rappers like Trouble, T.I., Boosie BadAzz, NLE Choppa and Polo G have voiced their support for the embattled rap
Robin Comes Out as Bisexuality In New Batman Comic!
In his 1954 polemic, “Seduction of the Innocent,” psychiatrist Fredric Wertham railed against comic books as immoral and referred to Batman and Robin, in particular, as “a wish-dream of two homosexuals living together.”
While Wertham’s research has been debunked over the years, it appears he was at least partly right: In the August issue of “Batman: Urban Legends,” released Tuesday, Robin agrees to go out on a date with another boy.
The Robin in question is Tim Drake, the third of at least four young men to wear the green and red tights alongside the Caped Crusader. With Batman’s biological son, Damian, taking on the mantle of Robin in recent years, Tim has suffered something of an identity crisis.
He has even taken on a variety of hero names — Red Robin, Drake — but is still trying to find himself. In “Batman: Urban Legends” No. 4, released in June, Barbara Gordon, aka Batgirl, tells Tim “what you find is going to change you.”
The current storyline, “Sum of Our Parts,” sees Tim reconnecting with an old friend, Bernard Dowd, who last appeared in 2005’s “Robin” No. 140.
As the story unfolds, Tim’s feelings for Bernard seem more than friendly: Seeing him for dinner, Tim thinks, “It feels like it’s been years but he still looks ... he still looks ...” before the pair hug.
Bernard is kidnapped by a new villain, the Chaos Monster, and Bernard hints during their daring escape that he knows Tim is Robin, saying he wished “we could have finished our date.”
The pair make it to safety, and at the end of the issue, Tim tells Bernard: “I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about that night and I — I don’t know what it meant to me. Not yet. But I’d like to figure it out.”
Bernard then asks Tim out on a legitimate date, which the young hero accepts.
Because “Urban Legends” is an anthology series, readers won’t see the next installment in Tim Drake’s story until “Batman: Urban Legends” No. 10 comes out in December.
Should he prove to be bisexual or even bi-curious, Tim will be just the latest member of the Bat family to raise the rainbow flag: In 2006, Greg Rucka reinvented Batwoman as an out lesbian. Since then, antiheroes Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy have been portrayed as romantic partners. Catwoman has been presented as bisexual, and lesbian police detective Renee Montoya has frequently patrolled the streets of Gotham, both as a cop and as the enigmatic superhero The Question.
Tim Drake would be the first out cisgender male hero in the Bat titles, however. In the past, he has been linked to another do-gooder — Stephanie Brown, alias Spoiler, the daughter of Bat villain Cluemaster.
“I wanted to pay tribute to the fact that sexuality is a journey,” “Urban Legends” writer Meghan Fitzmartin (“DC Superhero Girls,” “Future State: Robin Eternal”) told Polygon. “To be clear, his feelings for Stephanie have been/are 100 percent real, as are his feelings for Bernard. However, Tim is still figuring himself out. I don’t think he has the language for it all ... yet.”
Fitzmartin, who worked on the story with artist Belen Ortega and colorist Alejandro Sánchez, told Polygon that the idea came out of her discussions with Batman titles editor Dave Wielgosz.
Fitzmartin and Wielgosz “talked about where Tim Drake has been vs. where he was at the time and came to the conclusion that it needed to be a story about identity and discovery. What was next for Boy Wonder?”
After stewing over it, she pitched Wielgosz on having Robin come out or at least explore his sexuality.
“Look, I don’t know if this is something that can happen, but this is the story,” she told him, Polygon reported, “because it’s the only story it can be.”
Fitzmartin credits the story’s getting approved to Wielgosz and out Batman writer James Tynion IV, who contributed to June’s LGBTQ “DC Pride” special.

Christina Applegate Reveals Multiple Sclerosis Diagnosis!
Christina Applegate has multiple sclerosis. The Dead to Me actress, 49, shared the news on social media Monday night.
"A few months ago I was diagnosed with MS," Applegate wrote on Twitter about the disease of the central nervous system that interrupts the flow of information within the brain as well as between the brain and body. "It’s been a strange journey. But I have been so supported by people that I know who also have this condition. It’s been a tough road. But as we all know, the road keeps going. Unless some a**hole blocks it."
She continued, "As one of my friends that has MS said, 'We wake up and take the indicated action." And that’s what I do. So now I ask for privacy. As I go through this thing. Thank you."
According to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, there are four types, or courses, of MS and they range in severity. Even so, the way it progresses — and the way symptoms present themselves — varies from one person to another. There is no known cure, so management is an ongoing process to improve function after an attack and prevent new attacks.
The actress shot to stardom playing Kelly Bundy on Married... with Children in the '80s and '90s, solidifying her star status with the film Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead. She's gone on to have many other starring TV roles: Jesse, Samantha Who? and Up All Night. She's been starring in Dead to Me since 2019, earning Golden Globe and Emmy nominations. Her film credits also include Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Bad Moms and The Sweetest Thing.
Applegate has a 10-year-old daughter, Sadie, with her husband, musician Martyn LeNoble, of Porno for Pyros fame.
Cardi B Confused By Celebs Who Don’t Shower Regularly!
Like many of us, rapper Cardi B doesn’t quite understand why so many celebrities have shared that they don’t bathe regularly, tweeting her confusion over the admissions Tuesday.
“Wassup with people saying they don’t shower? It’s giving itchy,” the “WAP” rapper, 28, tweeted after several stars admitted that daily showers just aren’t necessary in their household.
Jake Gyllenhaal is the latest to admit he doesn’t find bathing regularly “necessary.”
“More and more I find bathing to be less necessary, at times,” Gyllenhaal, 40, told Vanity Fair last week while promoting Prada’s Luna Rossa Ocean fragrance.
“I do believe, because Elvis Costello is wonderful, that good manners and bad breath get you nowhere. So I do that. But I do also think that there’s a whole world of not bathing that is also really helpful for skin maintenance, and we naturally clean ourselves.”
Days prior, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard had explained that they wait for their daughters to “stink” before cleaning them.
Mila Kunis, 37, and Ashton Kutcher, 43, have also shared that they only gave baths to their kids, Wyatt and Dimitri, as infants when they could “see the dirt on them.”
“I didn’t have hot water growing up as a child, so I didn’t shower much anyway,” said Kunis of her own showering habits, with Kutcher adding, “I wash my armpits and my crotch daily, and nothing else ever. I got a bar of Lever 2000 that delivers every time.”
Not all celebs are skipping the soap and water, however, as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson waded into the discourse, insisting he showers multiple times a day.
“I’m the opposite of a ‘not washing themselves’ celeb,” the “Jumanji” actor, 49, tweeted Friday. “Shower (cold) when I roll outta bed to get my day rollin’. Shower (warm) after my workout before work. Shower (hot) after I get home from work.”
Johnson was soon joined by Jason Mamoa, who told Access Hollywood Monday, “I’m not starting any trends. I shower, trust me.”
“I’m Aquaman,” Mamoa, 42, added. “I’m in the f–king water. Don’t worry about it. I’m Hawaiian. We got saltwater on me. We good.”
Kathy Hochul to replace Andrew Cuomo and become first female governor of New York!
Andrew Cuomo is stepping down from his post as the governor of New York in two weeks, and his successor will make history by replacing him.
On Tuesday (Aug. 10), lieutenant governor Kathy Hochul used her Twitter account to announce that she would be taking the place of Cuomo, who stepped down after New York Attorney General Letitia James determined that he sexually harassed 11 women during his tenure. She will be the state’s first female governor.
“I agree with Governor Cuomo’s decision to step down. It is the right thing to do and in the best interest of New Yorkers,” wrote Hochul. “As someone who has served at all levels of government and is next in the line of succession, I am prepared to lead as New York State’s 57th Governor.”
Gov. Andrew Cuomo to resign amidst sexual harassment allegations
Last week, James announced that the findings from her investigation into sexual harassment allegations against Cuomo.
“We also conclude that the Executive Chamber’s culture — one filled with fear and intimidation, while at the same time normalizing the Governor’s frequent flirtations and gender-based comments — contributed to the conditions that allowed the sexual harassment to occur and persist,” reads a passage from the findings.
“That culture also influenced the improper and inadequate ways in which the Executive Chamber has responded to allegations of harassment,” it continues.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women, NY attorney general finds
Cuomo’s resignation arrived as public criticism mounted. In a press conference he conducted earlier today, he explained his decision to step down.
“Government needs to perform. It is a matter of life and death,” Cuomo told reporters. “Wasting energy on distractions is the last thing the state government should be doing. And I cannot be the cause of that.
“I would never want to be unhelpful in any way,” he continued. “And I think that given the circumstances, the best way I can help now is if I step aside and let government get back to governing and therefore that’s what I’ll do. Because I work for you and doing the right thing is doing the right thing for you.”

Sunni Wells Dies: Actor, Bill Cosby Accuser Was 72
Sunni Welles, a former actor and singer who was among the women who accused Bill Cosby of sexual assault, has died, her son Shaun O’Banion announced on Twitter today. She was 72.
Welles died Monday after a battle with lung cancer at a hospice care center in Downey, CA, O’Banion told Deadline in a statement.
Welles’ acting career began when she was a child at age 10, appearing in episodes of such popular shows as Leave It to Beaver and My Three Sons.
She alleged at a 2015 news conference that Cosby raped her twice when she was an aspiring singer in the mid-1960s by drugging her drink. She said Cosby invited her to a jazz club after she ran into him on the set of I Spy. Welles said the first time he attacked her, she was drinking Champagne; after the second time, she never saw him again. It really affected my trust,” Welles said. “My mother didn’t believe me initially, either. You’ve been hurt to a level that a lot of people don’t really understand. Still, to this day.”
Cosby was released from prison in June after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned his 2018 sexual assault conviction, finding fault with the way prosecutors pursued a case against him after earlier declining to file charges.
In 1979, Welles moved to Nevada to perform as a principal dancer with the Folies Bergère musical variety show in Las Vegas. She also appeared in the television series Quincy, M.E. and Trapper John, M.D. as well as the Steven Spielberg film 1941. She later retired from acting to perform as a jazz soloist with her band Shiver, which toured in California in the late ’90s.
Her credits also include the 2004 short film Lift, written and directed by O’Banion.
Muppet Babies' Take on Gender Nonconformity Features Gonzo in a Princess Dress!
Disney Junior's Muppet Babies reboot is celebrating gender nonconformity in the sweetest way.
In the CGI show's latest episode, titled "Gonzo-rella," the already-unique little blue alien Gonzo gets to celebrate being exactly who he wants to be. And turns out, who he wants to be is, simply, a princess.
In the episode, Miss Piggy and her friend Summer are planning a royal ball and asking everyone to dress up for it. While looking in a catalog, Gonzo sees a picture of some princesses and exclaims, "Wow! Get a load of that dress! I'd love to wear a dress like that to your royal ball!"
That's when Summer explains that she and Miss Piggy are the ones who get to wear dresses: "According to the royal handbook, the girls come as princesses, and the boys come as knights."
Thankfully, Rizzo — the Fairy RatFather, of course — can see that baby Gonzo is disappointed and gives him a magical gown and a mask so he can attend the ball the way he wants to.
Later in the episode, Gonzo reveals his true identity, Gonzorella. When Miss Piggy asks why he wore a disguise, he confesses: "You all expected me to look a certain way. I don't want you to be upset with me, but I don't want to do things because that's the way they've always been done either. I want to be me."
It's a beautiful message about gender identity and inclusion in a way for even the littlest viewers to understand.
In fact, in an interview with Disney fan-club blog D23, Muppet Babies executive producer Tom Warburton explained how he always planned for Gonzo to celebrate his authentic self and shared his intent behind the episode's storyline.
"Very early on, we wanted to do an episode where Gonzo just showed up to the Playroom wearing a skirt," he said. "And it was no big deal. No one cared or questioned it because Gonzo is always 200% Gonzo 347% of the time." But Warburton said that story editor and coproducer Robyn Brown and her team went a step further by adding the Cinderella concept.
"And it was just SO wonderfully Gonzo," he said. "We hope he inspires kids watching to be 347% of themselves in their own way, too."
Halle Berry Felt The ‘Oscar Curse’ After Her Historic 2002 Win
Not even Halle Berry could escape the Oscar curse. In the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, Berry reveals “it was surprising” that more movie roles did not immediately pour in after her historic Oscar win in 2002 for her role in Lee Daniels’ “Monster’s Ball.”
“When you have a historic win like that, you think, ‘Oh, this is going to fundamentally change.’ It did fundamentally change me, but it did not change my place in the business overnight. I still had to go back to work. I still had to try to fight to make a way out of no way,” she said in an interview for the magazine’s September cover.
Berry made history nearly 20 years ago when she became the first black woman to win for Best Lead Actress at the Academy Awards. Berry appeared in a string of flops after the win, including 2004’s “Catwoman,” which earned her four Razzie Awards.
Berry currently stars in her directorial debut, “Bruised,” an indie film about a disgraced MMA fighter’s return to the ring, a role Blake Lively turned down.
“They gave me the script, and I loved the story, but it was written for a twentysomething Irish Catholic white woman,” Berry, who turns 55 this week, said.
Still, “I couldn’t get it out of my mind, so I thought, is it possible that this could be reimagined for someone like me? Because I think I have a take on it that could actually work — making it about a middle-aged black woman, someone fighting for a last chance rather than another chance,” she said.
Netflix reportedly paid Berry $20 million for worldwide distribution rights of the film. It premieres on the streaming giant on Nov. 24.
Iowa Trump Rally Attendee Who Shot Into Car Full of Black Teenage Girls Sentenced!
An Iowa man was sentenced to up to 10 years in prison for shooting into a car full of Black teenage girls, injuring one, following a Trump rally.
26-year-old Michael McKinney of St. Charles was sentenced Monday for Dec. 6 incident. He pleaded guilty to intimidation with a dangerous weapon and willful injury.
Police say the girls in the car and rally participants exchanged insults as the teenagers’ car was surrounded by Trump supporters. The car then reversed and hit a pickup truck.
McKinney, an Army veteran, wearing full armor and carrying numerous firearms, fired a shot into the car, wounding a then-15-year-old girl in the leg. According to court papers, he later claimed he felt he was in danger and was defending himself.
In a statement read to the court Monday, the girl said that she feared she would die that day and didn’t know if she would be able to walk again.
McKinney, who has been detained since his arrest, apologized to the girl and admitted that he made a mistake.
Authorities minimized the shooting’s political and racial background, claiming it resulted from a traffic argument. Women for America First, a pro-Trump group, sponsored the demonstration.
Trump supporters blasted the police for charging McKinney, claiming that his gunfire saved rallygoers by scaring the car away and that McKinney frequently attended pro-police “Back the Blue” rallies.
Due to McKinney’s lack of criminal history and honorable military discharge, the judge ordered two sentences to run concurrently, with a maximum of 10 years. McKinney is not required to serve a minimum amount of time before being eligible for parole.

Jay-Z's Cousin Sued for Allegedly Scamming Roc Nation Gaming Investor!
Jay-Z's cousin, Briant "Bee-High" Biggs is being sued for allegedly scamming an investor in Roc Nation's Unanimous Games.
In its lawsuit, Blueprint Capital Holdings accused Biggs of failing to pay back the money that the company invested into Unanimous Games. Biggs was reportedly a part of a team that was raising $1.5 million for Roc Nation's video game subsidiary. Blueprint's president, Ryan Collision, claimed he invested $250,000 in March 2018 and was told Meek Mill, Yo Gotti, and Jay Park would participate.
Collision added that he was told the money would be repaid, plus interest, in March 2021 but it never happened. The Manhattan Federal Court filing also claims Unanimous did not respond to requests for financial information on the company, such as tax returns.
Biggs was allegedly told Blueprint he was expecting a $5 million investment in July and would pay the company what he owed. He eventually provided some financial information on Unanimous, which showed he paid himself thousands from Unanimous Games in 2019 and 2020.
"Notably, Unanimous Games did not provide any tax returns, income statements, general ledgers, profit and loss statements, or any documents relating to the alleged $5,000,000.00 investment," the suit read.
Blueprint Capital Holdings is suing Briant Biggs, Unanimous Games, and Roc Nation for fraud and breach of contract.
Man Allegedly Fatally Shoots Wife, Daughter, and Himself in Oklahoma After $2 Million Lottery Win!
An Oklahoma man allegedly killed his wife and daughter just nine months after his wife won $2 million from the California Lottery.
via Complex:,John Donato, 42, his wife Tiffani Hill, 31, and their daughter Leanne were all found with gunshot wounds to the head at their Calera, Oklahoma home on July 30, according to KXII. The husband and wife were pronounced dead at the scene, while Leanne was found alive but died after being airlifted to the hospital.
According to police, Donato shot his family before shooting himself, months after his wife won an Instant Prize Crossword Scratchers back in November in California. While it wasn’t clear how long the pair had been together for, Hill’s family lawyer said the lottery win caused tension.
“Could that have sparked that argument? We’ll never have any way of knowing. But I do know there were times it caused conflict between them,” lawyer Theresa McGehee said.
Hill had three surviving children, who the New York Post reports as being inside the home but unharmed during the murders, and the money she won is being put in a trust for them. It is unclear if Donato was the father of the kids.
The incident is being suspected as a murder-suicide, and the FBI is leading the investigation, as Hill was a member of the Choctaw Nation. Hill’s family has started a fundrasier to take care of various expenses.
Celebrity Stylist Sets Guinness World Record for Crazy Beard, Raises Money for Amazing Cause
Home!
Dean Banowetz, who is known in the celebrity hair world as The Hollywood Hair Guy now holds a new title – Guinness World Record Holder!
Although he usually draws attention by decorating his glorious beard for the holidays, Banowetz pulled off a pretty impressive – and weird – feat when he spent over 16 hours placing around 5,000 bobby pins in his beard to nab the Guinness record for the most bobby pins in a beard. Sourcing the thousands of bobby pins from his friends, Banowetz was able to achieve his goal and also used the spotlight to raise money for children who have lost their mothers to colon cancer.
According to his site, Dean Banowetz and a man named Joel Strasser met through their mutual love for adorning their beards in crazy ways.
“After speaking, they realized that they shared something else in common. They both recently lost a loved one, which is where the goal to raise money for four children’s college funds in honor of their recently passed moms came from,” the website states.
Providing links to donations for the two women who inspired Banowetz and Strasser to start their mission, they have raised over $40,000 for the surviving children.
“It was an awesome competition and in the end we raised more than [40k] for four amazing kids that lost their moms. AND we are still raising money for the amazing children!” Banowetz wrote on Instagram following the conclusion of his beard competition.
Banowetz also celebrated the success of his fundraiser with a bit of irony by allowing some students to shave off his record-setting face fuzz. At least he can start growing again!
