Multi-hyphenated Senegalese-American Issa Rae is the cover girl for Paper Magazine‘s latest issue.
For the cover, Issa is bringing the much-needed black girl magic with stunning jumbo braids, white tees complemented by coloured pants and black boots, the entire look suits the aesthetics of the cover. For this feature, Issa is interviewed by friend and acclaimed actress Tracee Ellis Ross.

I was extremely terrified. I had been creating content online that was mine technically, but it featured other people. I had never featured myself. I’d seen the comments on people I’d featured and they were mostly positive, but when I saw the negative ones I was like, “Oof, glad that ain’t me.” And so I put myself out there and it just felt different.
It was a story that felt so specific to me, it was specifically my sense of humour and there was no one else to hide behind. This is my project and I would be blamed if it turned out shitty. I was scared as hell, and if my best friend wasn’t there to watch the first cut and tell me, “Oh my God this is hilarious, take out this, this drags too long,” then I would have been poorer for that. So I thank her.
On what Black History Month means to her
I saw this billboard downtown today that was like, “Black culture is culture, so keep on making culture.” I was like what the f*** is that? This billboard in the middle of downtown talking about Black culture? Then I realized, Black History Month! Okay, that’s why we’re getting props.
And that side of it is frustrating to me. I’m of the mindset that Black history is American history. So I’m a little bit over it. When I think about Black History Month I think about the forced, “Okay, now it’s your time, let’s hear about your history, good for you, Black people.” If you’re going to celebrate Black history, celebrate Black people all year long. And understand that it’s also your history. But I don’t feel particularly moved by Black History Month.

#RHOA: Andy Cohen Is "Begging" Kandi Burruss to Throw Him a Dungeon Party!
Nobody can throw a party quite like Kandi Burruss, and the wild bachelorette bash she created for Cynthia Bailey on the February 21 episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta is indisputable proof. The party will most definitely go down in Housewives history, but if Andy Cohen has his way, it won’t be the last party of its kind.
As the RHOA episode aired, Andy tweeted to share his thoughts on the party. “If I ever get married, I’m begging [Kandi] to run my bachelor party,” Andy wrote. It looks like Kandi didn’t need much convincing at all, as she later replied, “I got you [Andy]! It’ll be the best party you ever had!”
It turns out Andy isn’t the only one who could use a little more Kandi in his life. On the February 21 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Lisa Barlow of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City reacted to the dungeon party in the video above, noting, “Kandi, I just know if I have a secret to tell, I’m telling Kandi, because she can keep a secret.”
In another tweet, Kandi also teased when we can expect to see her next dungeon party.
“As soon as it’s safe to have events again I will throw a dungeon party!” Kandi confirmed.
During her February 14 appearance on WWHL, Kandi revealed what made the event so iconic: “I definitely made sure that everybody had a great time, let me just say that. But Bolo [the performer] he’s always putting on a show. So I basically kind of gave them what happens on the Dungeon Tour with the performance, the wild costumes, and all of that is gonna happen for the girls on that day. But it maybe goes a step further than I expected but I throw the best parties, hands down.”

#HipHopNews: Vanessa Bryant Calls Meek Mill’s Kobe Raps “Insensitive” and “Disrespectful”!
Vanessa Bryant has finally spoken once and for all about the controversial raps from Meek Mill where he referenced Kobe Bryant.
The song in question, titled ‘Don’t Worry (RIP Kobe)’ is reportedly a collaboration with Lil Baby. Meek raps on the verse: “Yeah, and if I ever lack, I’m goin’ out with my chopper, it be another Kobe.”
The lyric is a reference to the basketball star’s death last year. Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and seven other people were killed in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, on Jan. 26, 2020. It received a lot of backlash online for obvious reasons.
After the initial criticism from fans on the lyrics, Meek defended himself on social media, saying “internet antics cannot stop me.”
Vanessa broke her silence today on Instagram and called the lyric “insensitive” and “disrespectful.”
“Dear Meek Mill, I find this line to be extremely insensitive and disrespectful. Period. I am not familiar with any of your music, but I believe you can do better than this,” she wrote in her note. If you are a fan, fine, there’s a bette way to show your admiration for my husband. This lacks respect and tact.”
Tiger Woods In Surgery After Suffering Injury In 1-Car Rollover Accident!
Tiger Woods was injured Tuesday morning in what the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department termed a "single vehicle roll-over traffic collision."
According to the department's Twitter account, the vehicle sustained "major damage" in the accident, which took place at 7:12 a.m. Woods was the only occupant of the car, and was extricated via the Jaws of Life. He was taken to a nearby hospital. No further information on his condition is currently available.
A local news station showed footage of Woods' wrecked vehicle, still bearing the logo of the Genesis Invitational, the tournament hosted by his foundation last weekend:
Woods' car was traveling northbound on Hawthorne Boulevard in Rolling Hills Estates, heading downhill in the residential area. His car apparently crossed the southbound lanes and traveled a substantial distance before coming to rest:
ABC 7 in Los Angeles reported that Woods was taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, less than 10 miles away from the crash site.
Woods' agent Mark Steinberg released a statement shortly before noon in Los Angeles confirming the news: "Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries. He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support."
Woods had been in California for the Genesis Invitational, which took place at Riviera Country Club. Woods did not play, as he was still recovering from back surgery, but was present to congratulate tournament winner Max Homa. After the tournament, he also played golf with Dwyane Wade.

Lionel Richie is off the market. The famed singer and songwriter went viral on Twitter over the weekend after it was revealed that not only does he have a girlfriend, but she is much younger than him.
Richie’s name began trending on Twitter after fans shared and retweeted that the 71-year-old is dating a woman named Lisa Parigi that they are claiming is 30 years old, a tweet that included a photo of the two hugging. Stunned fans shared the news, with some people jokingly encouraging others not to give up on love.
It is not quite clear why someone randomly decided to discuss the Grammy-winning artist’s love life, nor is it clear why people think this relationship is new. Apparently, the two have been together for a few years now, and he has even spoken about her in previous interviews. Parigi is the founder of a candle collection called “The Estate Collection.” She is of Swiss, Chinese, and Caribbean descent and can speak four languages. No one knows how old she is exactly but several reports have claimed she is in her 30s.
Richie spoke about his relationship with Parigi to The Mirror in 2016 and admitted that he was open to “the idea of children.” In 2019 he gushed about his longtime girlfriend, saying, “She’s extremely beautiful, but most importantly she’s smart and helps me deal with my crazy world.” He added, “At this time in my life when you can be so jaded about things, Lisa kind of makes everything feel a bit safe.”
Matt James Breaks Silence On Recent ‘Bachelor’ Controversies!
Matt James is speaking out. The most recent “Bachelor” broke his silence on the controversies that have surrounded this season of the ABC hit, posting a statement to Instagram Monday.
“The past few weeks have been some of the most challenging of my life, and while there are several episodes left of the season, it is important that I take the time to address the troubling information that has come to light since we wrapped filming, including the incredibly disappointing photos of Rachael Kirkconnell and the interview between Rachel Lindsay and Chris Harrison,” the 29-year-old wrote. “The reality is that I’m learning about these situations in real-time, and it has been devastating and heartbreaking, to put it bluntly.”
James addressed “Chris’s failure to receive and understand the emotional labor that my friend Rachel Lindsay was taking on,” calling it “troubling and painful to watch,” and “a clear reflection of a much larger issue that The Bachelor franchise has fallen short on addressing adequately for years.”
“This moment has sparked critical conversations and reporting, raised important questions and resulted in inspiring displays of solidarity from The Bachelor nation,” James, the first black “Bachelor” in the franchise’s history, went on. “It has also pushed me to reevaluate and process what my experience on The Bachelor represents, not just for me, but for all of the contestants of color, especially the Black contestants of this season and seasons past, and for you, the viewers at home.”
He finished his note by writing, “I will continue to process this experience, and you will hear more from me in the end. My greatest prayer is that this is an inflection point that results in real and institutional change for the better.”
“Bachelor” host Harrison, 49, issued an apology last week for the comments he made in an interview with Lindsay, admitting he spoke “in a manner that perpetuates racism.”
Harrison was mounting a defense of the show’s contestant Kirkconnell, herself weathering accusations she allegedly “liked” racially insensitive social media posts and was photographed at a plantation-themed party while at Georgia College & State University in 2018. He told Lindsay, the franchise’s first black “Bachelorette,” that critics should offer Kirkconnell “a little grace, a little understanding” — adding that he was “not the ‘woke police'” — and subsequently took a break from the show in the wake of the interview’s backlash.
Kirkconnell, for her part, apologized earlier in February, writing on Instagram, “I didn’t recognize how offensive and racist my actions were, but that doesn’t excuse them. My age or when it happened does not excuse anything. They are not acceptable or okay in any sense. I was ignorant, but my ignorance was racist.”
Malcolm X's Family Releases Letter Alleging FBI, Police Role In His Death!
Members of Malcolm X’s family have made public what they described as a letter written by a deceased police officer stating that the New York Police Department and FBI were behind the 1965 killing of the famed Black activist and civil rights advocate.
Malcolm X was a powerful orator who rose to prominence as the national spokesman of the Nation of Islam, an African-American Muslim group that espoused Black separatism. He spent more than a decade with the group before becoming disillusioned and publicly breaking with it in 1964. He moderated some of his earlier views on the benefits of racial separation.
He was killed at New York’s Audubon Ballroom while preparing to deliver a speech. Three members of the Nation of Islam were convicted in the shooting.
The letter released at a news conference on Saturday was attributed to a former undercover NYPD officer named Raymond Wood. His cousin Reggie Wood joined some of Malcolm X’s daughters at the news conference at the site where the Audubon Ballroom once stood to make the letter public.
Raymond Wood’s letter stated that he had been pressured by his NYPD supervisors to lure two members of Malcolm X’s security detail into committing crimes that resulted in their arrest just days before the fatal shooting. Those arrests kept the two men from managing door security at the ballroom and was part of conspiracy between the NYPD and FBI to have Malcolm X killed, according to the letter.
“Under the direction of my handlers, I was told to encourage leaders and members of the civil rights groups to commit felonious acts,” Wood’s letter stated.
Some historians and scholars have contended that the wrong men were convicted. The office of Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance last year said it would review the convictions in the case.
Following Saturday’s news conference, Vance’s office released a statement saying its “review of this matter is active and ongoing.” The NYPD said in a separate statement it has “provided all available records relevant to that case to the District Attorney” and “remains committed to assist with that review in any way.”
The FBI declined to comment on the matter.
Malcolm X’s daughter Ilyasah Shabazz said she had always lived with uncertainty around the circumstances of her father’s death.
“Any evidence that provides greater insight into the truth behind that terrible tragedy should be thoroughly investigated,” she told the news conference.

Stevie Wonder Says He Is Moving Permanently to Ghana!
Legendary singer and pianist Stevie Wonder is relocating to Ghana. The 22-time Grammy winner opened up about his decision to move out of the United States and settle down in Ghana during a November 2020 discussion with Oprah Winfrey, expressing his hope to live someplace where he feels valued.
Speaking during an episode of The Oprah Conversation, Wonder revealed his big move when talking about his hopes for America. He told Winfrey, "I promise you [America], if you do the right thing, I will give you this song. I will give it to you. You can have." He said he wants to "see this nation smile again. And I want to see it before I leave to travel to move to Ghana because I'm going to do that." Winfrey expressed shock at the announcement, asking, "you're gonna move permanently to Ghana?" Wonder responded by confirming, "I am", before going on to express concern about his family, stating, "I don't want to see my children's, children's children have to say 'Oh please like me, please respect me, please know that I am important, please value me.' What is that?"
Although the news may come as a shock, the decision has reportedly been a long one in the making. According to Hot New Hip Hop, Wonder told the International Association of African American Music in 1994 that he planned to one day move to Ghana because "there's more of a sense of community." The outlet reported that over the years, Wonder has also visited Ghana on numerous occasions.
Elsewhere in his discussion, Wonder opened up about what he called a "dangerous" era in the United States, telling Winfrey that "it feels more dangerous than ever before." He said the U.S. has "allowed love to go out and negativity to come in." He said all Americans need "five years of atonement," and challenged Americans to "take the time out, look at the wrongs and the things that have happened, and say, 'We're going to fix this.'"
Along with being a legendary singer and songwriter, Wonder is a decades-long humanitarian. The Oprah Magazine notes that he played a major role in the 18-year fight to make Martin Luther King's birthday a federal holiday. He has also been vocal on other matters, including the ongoing coronavirus pandemic as well as the protests calling for an end to systemic racism and police violence that occurred across the nation over the summer. At the time, Wonder said the protests were "not another digital viral trend moment or hashtag. It is our lives, literally. Yes, all lives do matter. But they only matter when Black lives matter, too."

Daft Punk Announces Their Retirement After 28 Years!
The iconic French electronic music duo Daft Punk has officially announced it will be disbanding after 28 years.
The two have traveled “Around the World” and blessed fans with legendary hits that we just have to hear “One More Time.” Now the DJs, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo have decided to go their separate ways and retire.
According to the New York Post, the music group released an eight-minute monologue called “Epilogue” on their digital platforms. The music group’s publicist, Kathryn Frazier, also told Variety that the news of them departing the group is real.
The announcement video includes the two DJs in a shaded desert. The two are sporting their signature helmets, and they are both wearing black jackets with their brand embroidered on them. The two then walk forward and then face one another in silence. One of the members then removes his jacket, showing what appears to be a battery cell. The other Daft Punk member activates the device on his back; both then step away and explode. A sunrise or sunset creeps in, and Daft Punk’s 2013 single “Touch” plays.
Daft Punk has been in the music game since 1993, creating classic songs and collaborating with heavy-hitter musicians, including Nicki Minaj, Pharrell, Kanye West, and more. They also composed the score for Disney’s “Tron: Legacy” in 2010
Rapper Xzibit's Wife Krista Files For Divorce After 20 Years Together!
Rapper Xzibit's wife Krista Joiner has filed for divorce after being together for over 20 years.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Krista has filed a divorce petition against Alvin Joiner aka Xzibit in Los Angeles Superior Court. At the moment, it's unclear if Krista is asking the "Pimp My Ride" host for spousal or child support. The available records do not state if the couple signed a prenuptial agreement.
The rapper has yet to file his response to the case.
Xzibit met Krista back in 2001 right before he was headed on a nationwide tour. He feared the tour would end their romance but she stayed by his side for over two decades. During their union, the couple had their kids Xavier and Gatlyn.
Sadly, Xavier was born prematurely and died eleven days after being born. Xzibit has another son Tremaine Joiner from another relationship.
The two had been able to get through a ton of financial and personal issues but it seems like they are ready to throw in the towel.
The rapper got in a bit of trouble the day after his 2014 wedding to Krista. Xzibit was arrested for driving under the influence hours after the two got married.
The reception went down in Laguna Beach, California. The couple partied it up at the St. Regis Monarch Beach. A couple of hours later, the rapper was pulled over by law enforcement for speeding. The police claim he reeked of booze and took him into custody. It's unclear if Krista was in the car with her new husband.
A couple of months later, Xzibit was charged with 2 counts of DUI. The paperwork says he blew a .14, which is twice the legal limit. The rapper eventually worked out a deal with prosecutors where he entered a plea of guilty in exchange for no jail time.
The rapper was ordered to 3 years probation and had to keep his nose clean. The case was eventually closed after he completed an alcohol education class.
Krista and Xzibit have not posted photos of each other on social media in some time.
DaBaby Explains That JoJo Siwa Lyric From His 'Beatbox' Freestyle!
DaBaby has no beef with JoJo Siwa. The rapper's "Beatbox" freestyle, with a line name-dropping the Dance Moms alum, raised some questions over the weekend -- but it turns out DaBaby was just using her name in a play on words.
"N----, you a b----/ JoJo Siwa, b----/ She let the wrong n---- get rich," DaBaby rhymes on the track. In the "Beatbox" video, he holds up a photo of a smiling Siwa.

Kim Kardashian may be moving to Miami after Divorce!
Looks like Mayor of Miami Francis Suarez’s billboards enticing west coast residents to move to Miami worked – Kim Kardashian may be moving to Miami.
According to the Miami Herald, in an interview with Life & Style magazine, an anonymous insider revealed that the 40-year-old reality TV star and business mogul is “checking out Miami real estate – and Miami men.”
News of the potential move comes just days after Kardashian officially filed for divorce from her husband of nearly eight years, Kanye West, on Feb. 19. The pair, who got married in 2014 in a lavish ceremony, have four children together. According to divorce documents, she is seeking joint physical and legal custody of their children.
In the latest issue of the magazine, the insider also revealed that she will be moving down for a “few months.” If the news is true, she and her family will be one of hundreds of families from out west moving east – especially to Florida. Besides the real estate market boom occurring in South Florida, the lessened restrictions during the COVID-19 lockdown and consistently beautiful weather seem to be attracting more snowbirds (and reality stars) than ever before.
Just this past January, news of Ivanka and Jared Kushner purchasing a $32.2 million-dollar estate in Miami Beach’s Indian Creek neighborhood sent shockwaves from D.C. all the way to the so-called, “Millionaire Bunker.” The Kushner’s acquired the property from singer Julio Iglesias. Furthermore, just last year, seven-time-winning Super Bowl quarterback Tom Brady and his wife, model Gisele Bündchen, purchased a $17-million-dollar property late last year.
Nevertheless, if the source’s information is true, this wouldn’t be the first time the star has lived in the Sunshine State. She and her sister, Kourtney Kardashian, filmed their hit spin-off series, “Kourtney & Kim Take Miami,” in Miami Beach from 2009 up until 2013.
Makeup Artist Fired for Saying the N-Word While Working on a Amy Poehler Project Starring All-Black Cast, Now Identified as Being Bi-Racial!
A new project starring an all-Black lead cast is making headlines for reasons other than its storyline.
Earlier this month, Page Six reported that a makeup artist, who has now identified as bi-racial, was fired for allegedly using the N-word repeatedly on the set of a new series created, written, and executive produced by “Girls Trip” writer Tracy Oliver. The artist reportedly also repeated the word in front of one of the show’s lead actresses.
The media publication claims to know which actress the occasion occurred in front of along with the name of the makeup artist. However, due to the sensitivity of the matter, they would not release their names.
The incident unfolded when the makeup artist in question sang along to a rap song requested by the actress, which featured the expletive. She continued singing until it reached the offending section and was reportedly “fired on the spot.”
The matter went to the makeup artist’s union, Local 798, but they decided not to take disciplinary actions against her. Page Six said that unidentified sources told them that either the union made that call because they found zero evidence of wrongdoing, or could not establish exactly what took place because the actress and the makeup artist were the only witnesses. The organization has not addressed those claims either.
Since then, the incident has sparked an outcry as many have reportedly come to the makeup artist’s defense. An unidentified source told the outlet, “Others in the community are outrage because this woman did not deserve what she is getting right now.” They added, “She is a good person facing an untenable situation where she really did nothing wrong!”
The untitled half-hour Amazon comedy series, formerly known as “Harlem,” is being developed by Oliver and backed by Paper Kite Productions, founded by actress and comedienne Amy Poehler. It will star actresses Meagan Good, Grace Byers, Jerrie Johnson and Shoniqua Shandai.
The single-camera comedy is being described as the “Black ‘Sex and the City'” as it follows the lives of four Black women — friends from their college days at New York University — as they navigate sex, relationships and chasing their dreams. An official announcement on when the series is set to release has not yet been made public.
