Alicia Keys for Rollacoaster Magazine- Autumn/Winter 2020!
In an interview with Rollacoaster Magazine, Alicia Keys has opened up about her upcoming album, Alicia. On why she chose her name for the album, she said, "I think that over time, I just really recognized and got more comfortable in willing to express the other sides of who I am and the different parts that make me a whole. . . . I believe that all those sides together is what makes me Alicia and I'm proud of all of those sides, and so all of those sides are reflected in music. They're reflected in the sonic, in the lyrics, in the words, in the emotions – all of that. That's why I feel more closer to myself. This is who Alicia is and that's why I definitely feel it's the right time to name it after my own name."

On the creation of her upcoming skincare brand, she said, "I've had a difficult experience and interesting experience with skincare my whole life. So I've always been somebody who has been looking for the right thing that works for me and my skin. I found over time, that it's a mixture of obviously good products but also how you're treating yourself and wellness and being good to yourself and removing toxic energy. For me, I love having a balance between taking care of my skin and also taking care of my soul."

Keys' new album is due out this year. Her skincare line will debut in 2021.

#MusicNews: Mariah Carey Will Soon Release ‘The Rarities’ Album!
On Oct. 2, Mariah will release The Rarities, a two-disc retrospective featuring a collection of personal favorites from her vault. The career-spanning compilation includes previously unreleased recordings from 1990 through 2020, along with “hidden musical jewels from her personal archives.”
According to a press release, Carey selected songs with “personal relevance and meaning,” which are further explored in her upcoming memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey.
“Basically I found stuff in my vault that I either started to work on like a long time ago and never released or that I kinda wanted to finish mixing or do whatever,” she said on “GMA.” “But they’re songs that have previously not been released so it’s exciting and it’s a monumental occasion for my career.”

The Rarities will include a second disc of never-before-released audio from Live at the Tokyo Dome, Carey’s first concert performance in Japan around her 1996 Daydream World Tour.
“Save the Day,” which arrives Friday, is the first release from The Rarities and is based off a previously-written song that was never completed. “I started writing this years ago,” says Mariah, “and the message rings true now more than ever: ‘We’re all in this together.'”

The Jermaine Dupri-produced song samples the Fugees 1996 hit “Killing Me Softly” and features Ms. Lauryn Hill’s vocals from the original song. “‘Save the Day’ sends a message that inspires hope, resilience and most importantly people coming together for the collective good,” reads the press release.
The Rarities is part of #MC30, an ongoing celebration of the 30th anniversary of Carey’s debut album and the evolution of her career. Weekly #MC30 releases have included digital EPs, remixes, bonus cuts, rare tracks, a cappella moments, and live performances.

Carey is also gearing up to release her memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, on Sept. 29

#HipHopNews: City Girls Shut Down Cardi B Beef Rumors!
JT and Yung Miami are firing back at reports of a feud with Cardi B. During an interview with “The Morning Hustle,” one of the hosts brought up a rumored legal dispute between the “WAP” rapper and City Girls’ label Quality Control, but JT was quick to shut her down.

“It’s not no problems going on with Cardi and our label. Who said that?” asked JT before clarifying that the legal drama involves Migos.
The host claimed that Cardi didn’t promote City Girls’ album City On Lock when it dropped, but JT defended her against the accusations. “Cardi did promote our album,” JT said. “We wasn’t talking about no artist, we wasn’t talking about nobody specific. I was talking about the stan pages. They always in people’s comments talking shit.”

JT says the beef rumors stem from other fan bases, who try to start problems even when there aren’t any. “It don’t matter if it’s Cardi fans or Nicki fans. I think they got the two biggest fan bases. They harass you,” she explained. “If you tweet something, they are in your comments talking shit about you. They create these narratives, but it never be a problem.”
City Girls came under fire from Cardi fans for not promoting “WAP” when it dropped. “What is there to talk about?” tweeted JT in response to a fan who said that she and Miami were being “real quiet” following the song’s release.
Her response was seen as shade by some fans, but JT won’t stand for the bullying. “Ain’t nobody gonna bully me. Y’all ain’t gon’ force me to do shit. Let me do it on my time. But y’all constantly in our comments,” she fired back during the interview.

She went on to clarify that there’s no beef. “We don’t have an issue with nobody. Cardi don’t have an issue with our label at all, period,” she added. “That don’t have nothing to do with Cardi… She was never even really signed to [Quality Control]. She was just getting help by the label.”
JT and Yung Miami recently revealed that Nicki Minaj is at the top of their wish list for a collaboration, but that wasn’t a dig at Cardi. “When we talk about Nicki Minaj, we not doing it to shade Cardi at all,” said JT.

The duo previously collaborated with Cardi on last year’s “Twerk.”

Former Trump Advisor Steve Bannon Arrested On Fraud Charges In Border Wall Fundraising Scheme!

Trump says he doesn't know anything about Bannon wall project
Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon was arrested Thursday after being charged with defrauding hundreds of thousands of donors through his "We Build the Wall" fundraising campaign.
Bannon and three associates were indicted in a federal investigation in the Southern District of New York. Prosecutors allege the four defrauded donors by raising "more than $25 million to build a wall along the southern border of the United States," but some of that money was used for personal gain.

The United States Postal Inspection Service assisted in the investigation.

Others in the indictment are Timothy Shea, a 49-year-old from Colorado accused of owning a shell company, Brian Kolfage, a disabled Iraq war veteran, and Andrew Badolato, who according to his own website was a contributor to Breitbart News, the conservative publication Bannon used to run.
The campaign was intended to raise money to help President Donald Trump fulfill a campaign promise to build a border wall. Instead, prosecutors allege that Bannon and his team profited off the arrangement.
The indictment said the defendants "collectively received hundreds of thousands of dollars in donor funds from 'We Build the Wall,' which they each used in a manner inconsistent with the organization's public representations."

"The defendants defrauded hundreds of thousands of donors, capitalizing on their interest in funding a border wall to raise millions of dollars, under the false pretense that all of that money would be spent on construction," Acting U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss said in a statement. "While repeatedly assuring donors that Brian Kolfage, the founder and public face of We Build the Wall, would not be paid a cent, the defendants secretly schemed to pass hundreds of thousands of dollars to Kolfage, which he used to fund his lavish lifestyle. We thank the USPIS for their partnership in investigating this case, and we remain dedicated to rooting out and prosecuting fraud wherever we find it."

The White House declined to comment. A spokeswoman for Bannon did not return a request for comment.
Kolfage, a 37-year-old triple amputee, launched the crowdfunding campaign in late 2018 on GoFundMe to build the wall. His effort came amid a stalemate over government funding on Capitol Hill, where Trump demanded that any spending package include billions of dollars to go toward the border barrier. The deadlock culminated in the longest partial government shutdown in U.S. history.
Kolfage's effort quickly went viral and raised millions of dollars from hundreds of thousands of donors – but GoFundMe threatened to suspend the campaign unless he "identified a legitimate non-profit organization into which those funds could be transferred," according to the indictment.

Prior to his campaign to crowdfund the border wall, Kolfage had been involved in a string of far-right news blogs and groups, one of which had been scrubbed from Facebook for allegedly using fake accounts to drive up website traffic. Some of the sites peddled false conspiracy theories and racist content. As his wall-funding campaign gained national attention, Kolfage had frequently appeared on Fox News and Fox Business, where he defended Trump and slammed his critics for suffering from "Trump Derangement Syndrome."

Badolato notes on his own website that he has been an "infrequent freelance contributor in the past to Breitbart News," a conservative news outlet Bannon used to run. Badolato also says on his site that he was involved with a number of other conservative publications linked to Bannon including Clinton Cash and The Undefeated: The Rise of Sarah Palin.
Shea, according to an NBC TV station in Colorado, is married to the group's treasurer, Amanda. She told the station that she and her husband opened a P.O. Box in order for donors to send checks. Amanda Shea insisted to NBC, in late 2018, that the checks were being made to Kolfage of "We Build the Wall."
Kris Kobach, a former Republican nominee for a Kansas Senate seat and a team member of "We Build the Wall," previously told the New York Times that Trump gave his "blessing" for the project. Kobach was not mentioned in the indictment.

A year after that story was published, Trump said he disagreed with the move by a "private group" to create a section of the wall "which raised money by ads," he said in a tweet.
The White House press secretary said in a statement that Trump had no involvement the project while distancing the administration from Bannon and the group.
"President Trump has not been involved with Steve Bannon since the campaign and the early part of the Administration, and he does not know the people involved with this project," Kayleigh McEnany said in a statement.
Read the DOJ's full release below:
Audrey Strauss, the Acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and Philip R. Bartlett, Inspector-in-Charge of the New York Field Office of the United States Postal Inspection Service ("USPIS"), announced the unsealing of an indictment charging BRIAN KOLFAGE, STEPHEN BANNON, ANDREW BADOLATO, and TIMOTHY SHEA for their roles in defrauding hundreds of thousands of donors in connection with an online crowdfunding campaign known as "We Build the Wall" that raised more than $25 million.  The defendants were arrested this morning.  KOLFAGE will be presented today before U.S. Magistrate Judge Hope T. Cannon in the Northern District of Florida.  BANNON will be presented today in the Southern District of New York.  BADOLATO will be presented today before U.S. Magistrate Judge Thomas Wilson in the Middle District of Florida.  SHEA will be presented today before U.S. Magistrate Judge Kristen L. Mix in the District of Colorado.  The case is assigned to U.S. District Judge Analisa Torres in the Southern District of New York.

Acting U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss said:  "As alleged, the defendants defrauded hundreds of thousands of donors, capitalizing on their interest in funding a border wall to raise millions of dollars, under the false pretense that all of that money would be spent on construction.  While repeatedly assuring donors that Brian Kolfage, the founder and public face of We Build the Wall, would not be paid a cent, the defendants secretly schemed to pass hundreds of thousands of dollars to Kolfage, which he used to fund his lavish lifestyle.  We thank the USPIS for their partnership in investigating this case, and we remain dedicated to rooting out and prosecuting fraud wherever we find it."

Inspector-in-Charge Philip R. Bartlett said:  "The defendants allegedly engaged in fraud when they misrepresented the true use of donated funds.  As alleged, not only did they lie to donors, they schemed to hide their misappropriation of funds by creating sham invoices and accounts to launder donations and cover up their crimes, showing no regard for the law or the truth.   This case should serve as a warning to other fraudsters that no one is above the law, not even a disabled war veteran or a millionaire political strategist."

Brandy Reveals She Once Contemplated Suicide Amid Battle With Depression!
Brandy is opening up about feeling “super depressed” following her involvement in a fatal car accident and heartbreak from a failed relationship.
“I remember laying in bed super depressed,” she told People. “I [told] myself, ‘So, you’re just going to go out like this? That’s wack. You have a daughter. If you can’t do it for yourself, do it for her because this is not the way to leave a mark in her life.'”
In 2006, Brandy, 41, was driving the vehicle that fatally struck a 38-year-old woman. The case settled out of court and she was not criminally charged.

“If Sy’rai wasn’t here, I wouldn’t be either,” the singer said of her now 18-year-old daughter. “The place that I was in, it just felt like I wasn’t going to make it through.”
The “Moesha” star welcomed her daughter with then-boyfriend Robert Smith in 2002, which she said “changed people’s perspective” of her. The pair split in 2003.

“But I had to focus on what was important, which was Sy’rai,” she added.
Earlier this month, Brandy revealed to The Post how her new single, “Borderline,” addresses the mental-health side effects of an unrequited love.
“I loved someone that was not available to be loved by me, and so that drove me crazy,” she said. “I wanted to use my music as a way to start more conversations about mental health and how that’s something that we all need to work on every day.

And here’s the thing: We can do better and deserve so much more. We must elect a president who will bring something different, something better, and do the important work. Cincinnati Reds Suspend Announcer Thom Brennaman After Hot Mic Catches Anti-Gay Slur!
In an apparent hot mic moment, Cincinnati Reds broadcaster Thom Brennaman was caught uttering an anti-gay slur between innings on Wednesday. Less than two hours later, he was apologizing and exiting the booth.

By night’s end, the team announced Brennaman was suspended effective immediately, with a further decision on the Reds’ broadcast team due to follow in the coming days.
Fox Sports Ohio has since released a statement saying it agrees with the Reds decision to suspend Brennaman.
The Reds home network says Brennaman’s comment was “hateful, offensive, and in no way reflects the values of Fox Sports Ohio.”
Before the seventh inning in Game 1 of Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Kansas City Royals, viewers heard Brennaman calling an unknown area ‘the f-- capital of the world.’ Brennaman did not seem aware he was on the air, and soon started plugging a Reds pregame show on Fox Sports Ohio.

You can see video of the slur here, with the obvious warning that it contains a bit of very NSFW language.

Brennaman apologizes, taken off Reds game
Video of the moment began circulating online between games of the doubleheader. Brennaman stayed to call the second game, with no acknowledgement of the slur even as many started calling for his job on social media. That is, until the fifth inning, at which point Brennaman was removed from the broadcast.

Before making his exit, Brennaman apologized for the slur on the air, only to be interrupted by a Nicholas Castellanos home run.
A transcript of Brennaman’s apology:
“I made a comment earlier tonight, that I guess went out over the air, that I am deeply ashamed of. If I have hurt anyone out there, I can’t tell you how much I say from the bottom of my heart that I am very, very sorry.”
“I pride myself and think of myself as a man of faith, as there is a drive into deep left field by Castellanos. It will be a home run, and so that will make it a 4-0 ballgame. I don’t know if I’m going to be putting on this headset again. I don’t know if it’s going to be for the Reds, I don’t know if it’s going to be for my bosses at Fox. I want to apologize to the people who sign my paycheck, for the Reds, for Fox Sports Ohio, for the people I work with, for anybody that I’ve offended here tonight.

“I can’t begin to tell you how deeply sorry I am. That is not who I am and it never has been. I’d like to think maybe I could have some people that can back that up. I am very, very sorry, and I beg for your forgiveness.”

After the game, Reds reliever Amir Garrett addressed the matter by tweeting a statement of solidarity with the LGBTQ community, and apologized for Brennaman’s language.

Two women claim Derrius Guice raped them at LSU!
Two former LSU students say former LSU running back Derrius Guice, who was recently released from the Washington Football Team, raped them months apart in 2016, according to an investigative report by USA Today.
The report says allegations were shared at the time with at least two coaches, an athletics administrator, and a nurse. Investigators say the women’s allegations were apparently not investigated by the school.

Guice’s attorney has denied the allegations.
“At no time were allegations of physical or sexual assault brought against Derrius during his years as a student-athlete at LSU,” Peter D. Greenspun said in a statement to WAFB. “To bring up such assertions only after the Virginia charges were initiated certainly calls into question the credibility, nature and timing of what is being alleged years later. Such speculation and innuendo should not be the basis for Derrius to be required to make any comment at all. But he wants to be absolutely clear: the allegations in this story are just that and have no basis in fact. The charges in Virginia will be dealt with in the courtroom and not through the media. Derrius continues to appreciate and be thankful for all of the continued support he has received during this difficult time.”

Washington cut Guice on Aug. 7 following a domestic violence arrest in a separate matter the same day in Virginia.
“Such speculation and innuendo should not be the basis for Derrius to be required to make any comment at all,” Greenspun added. “But he wants to be absolutely clear. The allegations in this story are just that and have no basis in fact.”

Both women told USA Today that Guice assaulted them in their own apartments after nights of heavy drinking. One woman said Guice showed up uninvited to a party she was hosting, then entered her bedroom while she was sleeping and raped her. The other woman, a former LSU tennis player, said Guice raped her when she allowed him into her home after meeting him for the first time at a bar.
The former tennis player’s alleged assault is reportedly documented in a pending lawsuit against the NCAA, criticizing the organization for failing to address athlete sexual violence at its member schools.

“Coming forward wasn’t really anything that she planned initially but recently have happened she thought it would be a good idea to come forward, mostly so if it happened to other people they would feel comfortable saying something and to let other people know these things have happened, somebody needs to address it,” said Karen Truszkowski, an attorney for one of the women alleging Guice raped her.
No reports were filed in either incident with the Baton Rouge Police Department or campus police.
LSU responded to WAFB’s request for comment on the matter with the following statement:

“LSU and LSU Athletics take all accusations of sexual assault with the utmost seriousness. Formal complaints are promptly and fully investigated and the rights and privacy of students are protected as stipulated by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. Complainants are also strongly encouraged to report the offense to law enforcement and are provided information on health care, counseling, and supportive measures available.”

BBWLA’s Jennifer Williams Speaks On The Arrest Of Ex-Boyfriend Tim Norman; ‘Thank You God For Your Grace!’
“Basketball Wives” star Jennifer Williams is opening up about the recent arrest of her ex, Tim Norman.
Norman is known for his role on his mother’s show ”Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s,” and now for a murder for hire plot to kill his own nephew. But, Williams also had a sordid past with him.
The two dated for a little over a year before things took a turn for the worst in 2017, Bossip reports. There was allegations of stalking and harassment, Norman accused Jennifer of slashing his tires and said she tried to run him over. However, Williams fired back, saying it was all untrue and that he was stalking her.

She also said she was “terrified” of him and had previously told the outlet that their split “felt like a Lifetime movie” and that she was living in fear after she learned Norman, who she thought was living in Texas, was actually living in her neighborhood.
Due to his criminal history, she was concerned for her safety and decided to go stay with a friend. “He is a convicted felon, I know he has guns, so I decided to file an incident report….,” she said in 2017.

She chose to take it a step further and sought a permanent restraining order against him and said another woman came forward and accused him of being physically abusive.
Williams is among several celebrities that reacted to the news of Norman’s arrest.
“Karma will get you one way or another.” Williams posted on her Instagram Story Tuesday. “The truth always reveals itself.”

Then went to Twitter to say, ”Thank you, God, for your grace, mercy, and favor.” She also sent her condolences to the family.

Anderson Cooper On How Being A Dad To Son Wyatt Has ‘Changed Everything’!
Anderson Cooper’s 3-month-old son Wyatt is sleeping soundly 12 hours a night, thanks in part to his “amazing” nurse.
“I have an amazing nurse… I’m not sure what she’s done but I’m told there’s no Ambien or whiskey involved,” the CNN anchor recently told WSJ. Magazine.
In late April, Cooper announced the arrival of son Wyatt Morgan during a live broadcast, revealing he had welcomed his first child via surrogate. Co-parenting with ex Benjamin Maisani, whom he split from in 2018, Cooper said fatherhood has not only transformed his life but has given him a greater purpose.

“It’s changed everything,” Cooper said. “I’ve often in my life felt like I was waiting for my actual life to begin — it’s obviously ridiculous because I’m 53 years old — but… I’ve been very focused on getting to some place, getting a story. Because I’m focused on him, it gives an order to everything.”
Cooper’s own sleep schedule has shifted since Wyatt’s arrival, as the once “late riser” gets up around 7 a.m. to start the day.
“I don’t use an alarm anymore because I guess I’m just naturally getting up. My whole motivation in the morning is to be there when my son wakes up because it is the greatest moment of my day,” Cooper explained. “He sleeps in this sleep sack, which I didn’t know was a thing, and he makes all these great sounds and he stretches and when he finally wakes up and sees you and smiles. It’s incredible.”

Additionally, Cooper has also incorporated coffee into his diet.
“For about six months, I’ve been fasting, so I don’t eat breakfast. I’ve become addicted to coffee, I’m not sure if that’s a good thing. I allow myself one to two coffees a day: iced coffee, black and nothing else in it because that’s not breaking the fast,” he shared.

Fortunately for Cooper, he has also been able to rely on pal Andy Cohen — who is a father to 1-year-old son Benjamin — for support. In May, the Bravo honcho revealed Cooper had employed his longtime nanny. Baby Wyatt has also received Benjamin Cohen’s hand-me-downs.
In June, Cooper and Cohen’s sons “met” for the first time via a virtual introduction on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.”

Breonna Taylor Billboard In Kentucky Vandalized With Red Paint Splattered Across Her Forehead!
A billboard of Breonna Taylor in her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, was vandalized this week. The billboard, part of a larger campaign demanding justice for Taylor's death, now features a large splatter of paint on her head.
On Tuesday, the billboard — which is near the area of Lexington Road and Spring Street, according to CBS Louisville affiliate WLKY-TV — featured red paint, splattered in the center of Taylor's forehead, resembling a bullet wound.
The billboard is among 26 that represent each year of Taylor's life and was erected in and around the city by Oprah Winfrey earlier this month. The image is the same one of Taylor used on the September cover of Winfrey's magazine, marking the first time in the publication's history that someone else other than Winfrey was featured on the cover.

The billboards all have the same clear call to action: "Demand that the police involved in killing Breonna Taylor be arrested and charged."
A quote from Winfrey accompanies the message: "If you turn a blind eye to racism, you become an accomplice to it."
The signs direct people to the social justice organization Until Freedom, which has taken up residence in Louisville to focus on getting justice for Taylor, O Magazine said in a statement on its website. The online statement also directs people to sign petitions that demand justice for Taylor, call Kentucky officials, donate to local bail funds and use #SayHerName on social media.

On March 13, police entered Taylor's home with a no-knock warrant. The officers fatally shot Taylor, a EMT worker, while looking for illegal drugs, which were never found. Only one of the three officers involed in Taylor's death has been fired, and none have been charged.
Taylor's family filed a lawsuit against the officers in May, accusing them of wrongful death, excessive force and gross negligence. In June, Mayor Greg Fischer signed "Breonna's Law," which bans the use of no-knock search warrants and it requires officers to wear body cameras when executing search warrants.
The father of Michael Brown Jr., who was also shot dead by police in Ferguson, Missouri, in 2014, has also called for justice in Taylor's case and traveled to Louisville recently to join a protest with Until Freedom.

On Monday night, former first lady Michelle Obama referenced Taylor's death while delivering an impassioned speech during the first night of the Democratic National Convention.
"Here at home, as George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and a never-ending list of innocent people of color continue to be murdered. Stating the simple fact that a Black life matters is still met with derision from the nation's highest office," Obama said.

"Sadly, this is the America that's on display for the next generation," she added.

White Woman Charged In Hit-And-Run Of Two Black Boys, Ages 9 And 12!
A white woman has been arrested after performing a hit-and-run on two Black children.
Shannon Palmer, 31, was arrested on Aug. 4, a day after she ran over Troy Russell and Toriano Jamison and kept on driving. According to Newsday, Palmer hit the two boys with her white Ford Explorer on Ronkonkoma road in New York.

Troy, 9, had to be airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he is currently in critical condition and fighting for his life, BOSSIP reports. He is suffering from three broken ribs, a broken right elbow, a broken left thumb, a broken left Achilles heel, and his right leg was broken in half. Some Twitter users who have been keeping up with the story even claim the boy may have to have his broken leg amputated. As for Toriano, he is wounded with “gaping abdominal gashes,” a concussion, multiple hip fractures, and damage to his lungs, kidneys, and colon. The outlet reports that he may never be able to walk again.

A thread on Twitter said the boys were standing by their bikes during a scheduled play date when Palmer drove over the boys. The two children, who are brothers, were also accompanied by their younger 6-year-old brother, who was unharmed.
Palmer was charged with two counts of leaving the scene of an accident with serious physical injury. The Twitter thread also revealed that Palmer is allegedly a multiple DUI offender.
She has since been released. Meanwhile, A GoFundMe has been started by the boys’ family to help pay for hospital bills and other medical expenses.

Prayers out to the boys and their family. JusticeForTorianoAndTroy.
