#RHOA: Here’s Why NeNe Leakes Shut Down Questions About Wendy Williams During The 'RHOA' Reunion!
NeNe Leakes and Wendy Williams have had some ups and downs in their friendship after their Hot Girl Summer of 2019, shortly after the talk show host filed for divorce. Nonetheless, questions about the talk show host were off-limits for NeNe at the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion, set to air on May 10.

In a video she posted to her YouTube channel after the virtual reunion taping, she opened up about being grilled about her friendship with Wendy.  “I was asked questions about me and Wendy Williams’ relationship, I really feel like that has nothing to do with the show at all,” she began.

“Wendy and I had a bit of a disagreement recently, she spoke out on her show, she called me ‘that girl over there’ and so, they asked me about the situation. I was asked a question about it and one of the questions came from one of the girls, ‘Why didn’t you speak out publicly about that?’”
She continued, “I don’t feel like I need to talk about our relationship publicly because I talked to her privately. So, I don’t know why I need to sit here on that show the ‘Housewives’ about why I didn’t go public with me and Wendy’s relationship. That has nothing to do with the show.” NeNe also said she “walked off” during the virtual reunion (which was produced via video conference) and doesn’t regret it.

As for Wendy and NeNe, back on April 6, Williams claimed that Leakes ambushed her by FaceTiming her during an Instagram Live session. Williams said she rejected the call, and had a few words for the reality star about proper social media-video call etiquette.
“I made it very clear, I am not a Housewife. Sorry, my career is a bit different than being a Housewife. I don’t need that kind of attention.”

The current status of NeNe and Wendy’s friendship is not clear.

#Empire: Here's How Empire Said Goodbye to Jussie Smollett's Jamal Lyon in Series Finale!
With Jussie Smollett written out of Season 6 amid the actor's legal woes, questions remained about whether or not he would return as Jamal for Empire's series finale. Though star Taraji P. Henson previously expressed her hope for Smollett to appear before the show ends and showrunner Brett Mahoney said it would be weird not to see him in those final episodes, doubts loomed over the actor's potential return.

Fox entertainment chief Michael Thorn confirmed that Smollett would not come back for the finale, noting that the episode would likely mention him in some form. Forging ahead without the actor who'd been an integral part of the show for the previous five seasons, producers were left with a huge conundrum: how would they pay tribute to this central character without using Smollett's image?

Smollett did not physically appear in the finale, titled "Home is on the Way," but the series still found a way to recognize Jamal Lyon during the nostalgic hour. Smollett's character was first referenced late into the episode during a conversation between the family about the precautions they would take with Damon Cross (Wood Harris) still alive and threatening their safety. Lucious (Terrence Howard) spoke on the importance of family, and the camera quickly panned to a photo of the Lyons, Smollett included, standing together

At the end of the episode, as Hakeem performed a song that touched on his family's legacy, a supercut of their journey across six seasons flashed across the scene. From Lucious' luxuriously permed hair in Season 1 to Cookie's (Taraji P. Henson) shoe-throwing antics to Hakeem's (Bryshere Gray) baby mama drama and Andre's (Trai Byers) mental breakdowns, the montage offered up a two-minute retrospective of the family's tumultuous journey so far. But when it came to Jamal, the series stuck to archival footage of the character during his younger years in lieu of Smollett's adult version.

"The character was a huge part of this show and to the extent that we could, we wanted to honor that," Mahoney told said

Cookie and Lucious' second son, though not present in this last season, was a central figure in some of the show's most groundbreaking storylines. The show's depiction of Jamal in a normal and loving relationship with Kai, who is HIV positive, educated viewers on the realities of living with the disease while also chipping away at some of that stigma. Plus, their marriage at the end of Season 5 broke ground as primetime's first gay black wedding. Jamal's legacy within the show is hard to ignore and owing to that, the show did right by the character in those final moments, even if they couldn't include Smollett

Michael Jordan’s Dislike Of Isaiah Thomas Defines ‘The Last Dance’ Latest Episodes!
The Last Dance episodes 3 & 4 were broadcast on ESPN last night revealing the cantankerous relationship between Michael Jordan and Isaiah Thomas.
The two Hall of Famers were in their prime during the ’90s and gunning for one another. However, whereas Jordan portrays himself as the consummate competitor with a conscience, Thomas is not.
The Detroit Pistons had something called “The Jordan Rules” which were employed to stop Jordan’s on court dominance. From intentional hard fouls to triple teaming him, the would not allow him “to take flight.”

This worked well when the “Bad Boys” of Detroit neutralized Jordan during the NBA Conference Finals. The Pistons eliminated the Bulls in both the 1989 and 1990 Eastern Conference Finals. However, once Jordan figured out how to combat their defense and defeated the Pistons, they showed bad form.
It was already personal but it turned disrespectful.
After sweeping the Pistons in the 1991 conference finals, with 7.9 seconds in Game 4, nearly the entire Detroit squad (except for John Salley and Chuck Daly) walked off the court. They strolled right past Chicago’s bench, rather than sticking around to shake hands and congratulate the Bulls after the game and series had ended.

“That was the only time that I think I’d ever been swept in a series. I was normally the one doing the sweeping,” Thomas said. “Their time had arrived, and ours was over. As we’re coming out of the game, Laimbeer said: ‘We’re not shaking their hands.’
“Knowing what we now now, in the aftermath of what took place, I think all of us would’ve stopped and said congratulations like they do now. But in that period of time, that’s just not how it was passed. When you lost you left the floor. That was it.”

However, Jordan is still not buying Thomas’ excuse.“I know it’s all bullshit,” Jordan said. “Whatever [Isaiah] says now, you know it wasn’t his true actions then. [He’s had] time enough to think about it, or the reaction of the public that’s changed his perspective. … You can show me anything you want. There’s no way you can convince me he wasn’t asshole.

“All you have to do is go back to us losing in Game 7 [the previous year],” Jordan continued. “I shook everybody’s hand. Two years in a row, we shook their hands when they beat us. There’s a certain respect to the game, that we paid to them. That’s sportsmanship. No matter how much it hurts, and believe me it f—–g hurt. But we didn’t have to shake their hands. We knew we whipped their ass already. We got past them. And to me, that was better in some ways than winning the championship.”

The rivalry is still real and The Last Dance is providing so much brevity to a golden age in basketball we all remember.

Toni Braxton Denies Dennis Rodman Dating Rumors!
Toni Braxton is setting the record straight about her relationship with Dennis Rodman.
On Sunday night, ESPN aired the third installment of its Michael Jordan docuseries “The Last Dance,” which highlighted Rodman’s relationship with famous women, including Madonna, Carmen Electra, Vivica Fox, and Toni Braxton.

After the broadcast, a series of photos of Braxton, 52, and the former Chicago Bulls star, 58, resurfaced on social media, further fueling the speculation. The provocative photos showed the two cozied up at the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards. But Braxton was quick to shut down the romance rumors.
“IEven though @dennisrodman was kinda hot in the 90s, I never dated Dennis Rodman. We were at the VMAs,” she tweeted before adding the hashtag #TheLastDance.

While Braxton was quick to deny a romance with Rodman, she did recently open up about her relationship with Birdman. The Grammy-winning songstress and Cash Money mogul, who got engaged in 2018 after a nearly two-decade friendship, are planning to get married this year.

“We have been going back and forth on wedding dates,” Braxton told the “Rick and Sasha” morning show. “We’ve been trying to figure it out, but we are definitely gonna do it this year.”

Fox News Severs Ties With Diamond And Silk, Trump Campaign Surrogates Who Pushed Coronavirus Conspiracy Theories!
Fox News has severed ties with Diamond and Silk, the video bloggers and political commentators who bill themselves as President Donald Trump’s “most loyal supporters.”
According to sources, Fox News and streaming service Fox Nation “no longer have a relationship” with the duo.Earlier this month, Twitter locked their account over a tweet that criticized coronavirus crisis stay-at home orders and suggested that people should be “out in the environment.”
“The only way we can become immune to the environment; we must be out in the environment.” they wrote. “Quarantining people inside of their houses for extended periods will make people sick!”

Twitter said that the tweet was in violation of its coronavirus misinformation policy.
“We are the United States, not Communist China. This Deep State experiment that we’ve all been suckered into must end or we will no longer have our freedoms or our country,” they wrote on Twitter on Monday. “We were asked to go inside to flatten the curve, not the economy. #OpenUpAmerica #StopMovingTheGoalPost.”
Diamond and Silk also have suggested that the number of coronavirus deaths are inflated and have pushed a conspiracy theory involving Bill Gates and vaccines and another involving 5G technology.

Fox Nation had licensed their show and featured the duo in promotions, but they were not employees of the channel.
The Daily Beast first reported on Fox News’ move. The network cut ties with another personality, Fox Business anchor Trish Regan, in March, following the fallout from comments she made in a segment titled the “Coronavirus Impeachment Scam.”

Their video segments have drawn guests such as Surgeon General Jerome Adams, in which he said that social distancing guidelines were working. They continue to serve as surrogates for Trump’s reelection campaign, including on an advisory board for Black Voices for Trump

Michelle Obama Lands ‘Becoming’ Docu On Netflix, Scheduled For May 6 Release!
Former First Lady Michelle Obama is spreading joy to the world once again. The 56-year-old author has partnered with Netflix to release a documentary detailing her life and several moments throughout her latest book tour.

In a statement, Michelle Obama noted:
I’m excited to let you know that on May 6, Netflix will release BECOMING, a documentary film directed by Nadia Hallgren that looks at my life and the experiences I had while touring following the release of my memoir.

She continued: Those months I spent traveling — meeting and connecting with people in cities across the globe — drove home the idea that what we share in common is deep and real and can’t be messed with. In groups large and small, young and old, unique and united, we came together and shared stories, filling those spaces with our joys, worries, and dreams. We processed the past and imagined a better future. In talking about the idea of ‘becoming,’ many of us dared to say our hopes out loud.

She also spoke on the documentary via Instagram Monday (April 27th).
Her book Becoming sold 15 million copies just 15 days after its highly-anticipated release in 2018. This time last year, it was nabbed as the highest-selling memoir.

As of late, Michelle has partnered with the likes of producer Babyface and Teddy Riley to encourage people to vote, hosted a read-along series on PBS Kids for children, and has been the topic of conversation as a possible running mate for Democratic Joe Biden discussion.

Andy Cohen Says Because He Is Gay He Can't Donate Plasma!
Andy Cohen is speaking out about what he says is a discriminatory practice happening at the federal level when it comes to LGBTQ people being able to donate blood and convalescent plasma.
The 51-year-old talk show host tested positive for the coronavirus in March and recovered from COVID-19 by the end of that month. Since then, he said he's been trying help those still suffering from the disease, but due to laws against men who have sex with men, he can't.

"I signed up for a program for COVID-19 survivors where you could donate plasma, which is rich in antibodies, to those still battling the virus," he said on Thursday's episode of "Watch What Happens Live." "I was told that, due to antiquated and discriminatory guidelines by the FDA to prevent HIV, I am ineligible to donate blood because I'm a gay man."
Cohen later explained that since the coronavirus is "ravaging our planet," the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is saying "there is an urgent need for plasma from survivors."

What is plasma? Convalescent plasma is the liquid portion of blood taken from survivors of a disease that is rich in antibodies. Precious for people sick with COVID-19, doctors hope using it can speed up recovery for the sickest patients.
Plasma donors have to confirm they had COVID-19 and have fully recovered. That means having documentation of a positive test, which can be difficult since there is limited access to testing across the country. They also need to either be 14 days from their last symptoms and have a negative COVID-19 test, or 28 days from their last symptoms — no negative test required.

As of this week, the American Red Cross has produced 200 units of convalescent plasma donated by almost 150 eligible donors. The goal is to send out more than 1,000 units to hospitals, which would require 500 to 600 donors.

Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen - Season 17Andy Cohen has recovered from COVID-19 and wishes there was more he could do to help those still suffering.Bravo
“Unfortunately, the demand is far exceeding the supply, even though many people in our organization are working around the clock on this endeavor," Dr. Pampee Young, chief medical officer of the organization, told TODAY.

Earlier this month, due to an “urgent need for blood,” the FDA revised its blood donor guidelines, easing the restrictions on men who have sex with men. The new guidelines reduce the donation deferral period for sexually active gay and bisexual men from 12 months to three. These healthy men will now have to abstain from same-sex sexual activity for 90 days before they are eligible to donate blood.
Pug in North Carolina tests positive for coronavirus, may be first for dog in US
The same restrictions apply to recovered COVID-19 patients who wish to donate plasma. That 90-day period is significantly less than the restrictions that existed before the pandemic, but Cohen argues any restriction based on sexual orientation is inherently homophobic in its practice.

"Even the new relaxed rules require gay men to abstain from sex for three months, whether they're in a monogamous relationship or not before giving blood, though no such blanket restrictions exist for people of other sexual orientations," he said.
Cohen points out that all donated blood, no matter the person's sexual orientation, is screened for HIV. He suggested a rapid HIV test could be given before a person donates to ensure they are negative.

"So, why the three-month rule?" Cohen questions. "Why are members from my community being excluded from helping out when so many people are sick and dying? Maybe because we're valuing stigma over science? I don't know. My blood could save a life but instead it's over here boiling."
Cohen also noted that since the coronavirus pandemic began, people have adapted in many ways, including the wearing of masks and social distancing. So why can't the FDA adapt as well?

"It is bad enough that quarantine has us wondering what day it is, I'm sitting here wondering what year it is," Cohen said. "We need to think about this and do better.

Nick Cordero Will Remain on Ventilator After Developing a Fever!
Doctors hoped to take Nick Cordero off a ventilator today (April 27), but he will remain on it after developing a new fever in the morning.
The 41-year-old Broadway actor’s wife Amanda Kloots took to her Instagram Stories to explain what happened amid his battle with coronavirus.
Nick developed a fever on Monday morning, which “caused his blood pressure to drop slightly.”
“He’s back on a little bit of blood pressure medication, which he was off of, and they are trying to just really make sure that this fever doesn’t really go anywhere, get out of control.”

Amanda said that they are “doing a couple of tests to try to find out the source of this fever.”
“They have got it under control,” she added. “They are working on him and taking good care of him, but they are going to set aside the ventilator removal until they get this under control.”

Earlier this month, Nick‘s leg was amputated due to complications with the virus.

He shares, “I fought the COVID, double bilateral pneumonia and kidney failure, all in my house. This my new lifeline,” he continued. “I gotta change my entire diet. I gotta do dialysis four times a week, three hours a day. That’s taking all of my blood out, cleaning it, and putting it back in my body. Before the COVID, I never had kidney problems before.”

Hip Hop recently took a loss with the recent passing of New York MC Fred The Godson due to complications from the coronavirus.

Governor Ron DeSantis Says Florida is “God’s Waiting Room” For Senior Citizens!
People are not too happy with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis after he called the state “God’s waiting room” for senior citizens.
“Florida is ground zero for the nursing home; I mean we’re God’s waiting room,” DeSantis said Sunday during an update on coronavirus. “We have a huge number of facilities, a huge number of residents.”
According to WPLG, “God’s waiting room” is considered a derogatory phrase about the big population of older retired people in Florida.

Terrie Rizzo, Florida Democratic Party chairwoman, said DeSantis’ comments were inappropriate. “Governor, this isn’t a time to do stand-up, it’s a time to stand up and lead,” she said in a statement.
As of Sunday, Florida had 31,500 cases of COVID-19 and 1,074 deaths.

But that didn’t stop many beaches along the coast from opening during a hot and sunny weekend.
